Don’t know if someone’s pointed this out yet (someone probably has lol), but if I said these two scenes are direct parallels:

In each one, the other one tells the other that they love them. In return, the other does not give a verbal response, but rather a nonverbal one that honestly speaks louder than words.

And both times the person recieving the confession realized they were not in love with the other person.

Broke: Mike and El need to break up at the start of s5.

Woke: Mike and El have already broken up in s4 ep3 offscreen and we just didn’t see it and that’s why they were both so confused by Mike’s monologue to El, and we will find this out at the start of s5.

Bespoke: El literally dumped Mike onscreen in s4 ep4 by writing “From, El” and it was mutually excepted as a breakup when Mike threw the letter in the trash and proceeded to flirt with Will the entire rest of the episode, that’s why Mike was so confused about the painting, and all we need from the start of s5 is for this to made made “official” aka clear to the general audience.

Recently, I have realised I prefer bi Mike because I enjoy the idea that Mike romantically likes Eleven, but romantically loves Will. Because theoretically, El was perfect; she's funny, she's pretty, they got on, she likes him, he likes her. And, best of all, she's female, meaning he faces much less social stigma than if he followed his feelings for Will. Considering he likes her, it should be the perfect relationship, right? No.

Because the relationship is not sustainable. They are not compatible. No amount of liking El or cute moments or crushes can help Mike can outrun his love for Will.

twitter bylers are something else ... jumping to the conclusion that the leaked mileven scene is a break up so early in the game ... what if byler is being treated as a spoiler to be revealed within the last 2 episodes? we'll likely get pro-mileven content and see the devastation that occurs in the community. we gotta be strong and be prepared for whatever happens, not assume the duffers will do the whole love triangle ... peacefully ... bc what if mike isn't fully aware? and it takes VECNA going into his mind to bring forth whats been lying in his subconscious this whole time?

we just do not know with certainty how they'll go about it. and whereas it's fun to speculate, experiencing byler doubt over out of context scenes is so exhausting. so if you're a byler and experience byler doubt, know this:

byler is 100% endgame but they'll make the GA believe that mileven is for as long as they can.

marketing is another thing, but for now i am so certain byler is the way they're going that i'm pretty sure around july i'd have figured out a good chunk of mike's arc, to the point i'm confident i'll be able to predict a leak.

yes, i might be the most delusional person in this entire tag and i might be completely wrong (in which case please be nice lmao im just mainly having fun) but there's a reason why i'm so confident, and i'll share that once the time comes. but for now, know that i'm working hard on that leak prediction

just a warning this is ab byler and mileven.

went digging through mileven tag to see if there were any good analyses and a couple of them stood out to me bc they were genuinely good and made sense. tbh i haven’t seen many mileven posts that don’t sound like they were written by someone very young so it was difficult to like actually find a good scene by scene analysis BUT I did see one that discussed their love languages being different in relation to the “mike cant say love you” argument that was really good so if you were the one who made those posts I applaud you.

with that being said I have some questions and I am being 100% genuine in this so pls be nice and actually respond civilly.

i just cannot comprehend why the duffers would choose to establish that will is gay and in love with mike so late into the show if nothing is going to come from it especially bc will has been nothing but miserable for 4 seasons straight. I’ve seen some milevens argue that unrequited love is a pretty standard trope and that’s true but it doesn’t make any sense in this context.

why didn’t they bring in a new character to be wills love interest? why do they keep showing mike and el have the same argument ab lying to each other? WHY ARE THEY POSITIONED LIKE THAT IN THE FINAL SCENE?? (fr tho that has to be foreshadowing what else could it be? and when she picks up the dead flowers like…)

I am trying so hard to understand the mileven endgame perspective. I was fully a mileven shipper until around s3 (bc let’s be honest the s2 mileven moment when el walks in the door to the byers house is insanely cute & I was also not that deep into the fandom yet) but to throw in that line ab will not liking girls and then show that mike literally cannot balance his relationships with will and el.

AND THEN to have him immediately apologize to will but complain about el dumping him in a satirical way like PLS someone justify mileven endgame to me in a way that makes sense I need someone to make a slideshow like the one byler has so I can rlly compare them.
