ttrpgs with in-depth magic systems?
THEME: In-Depth Magic Systems
You'll find a number of trad games here because that's what pops into my head when someone talks about in-depth magic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mage: The Ascension and Mage: The Awakening, by Onyx Path Publishing.
The Council of Nine Mystic Traditions, a loose coalition of nine organizations of differing philosophies and magical practices, stand for personal freedom -- sometimes regardless of cost -- and responsibility. In opposition is the shadowy Technocratic Union, a seemingly monolithic conspiracy which seeks to protect humanity from the unseen dangers of the universe at large, typically through ignorance and control. Other factions, the Nephandi and the Marauders, who personify the depths humanity can sink to and the abdication of responsibility, also have their part to play in the struggle as each side strives to win over and guide -- or rule -- the unknowing masses of the world. (Mage: the Ascension)
You are a mage, one of the Wise. You see, know, and explore what others can’t imagine, from the depths of the human soul to the hidden corners of reality. Armed with your spells, driven by an addiction to Mysteries, you delve into the secrets of the world. Knowledge has a price, and the dangers are many. (Mage: The Awakening)
Mage: The Ascension was originally published by White Wolf in 1993, and Mage: The Awakening was released in 2005 as part of the company’s attempt to “update” their settings to a newer rule-set. The fans wouldn’t have that, however, so now both versions of Mage can be found on places such as DriveThruRpg.
The lore for both of these games has overlap, but they are distinctly different. In Mage: The Ascension, there is more conflict between mages, especially in regards to technology vs mysticism. In Mage: The Awakening, mages have a more common culture even if their magical practices differ. What both of these systems offer is a complex system of magic, rife with politics (as is traditional for any World of Darkness game) and a long storied history that the mages of today cannot extricate themselves from. If you love reading about lore, factions, and secret societies, these might games worth getting into.
Ars Magica, by Atlas Games.
Ars Magica is the award-winning roleplaying game by Jonathan Tweet and Mark Rein•Hagen about wizards and their allies in Mythic Europe. This flexible, deeply built world can support games that are historically accurate or fantasy-based, epic or small scale, political or personal.
Players work together to tell the story of their covenant — all of the magi, their companions, and grogs. This history can span decades. It might be heroic, tragic, or both in turn. The covenant could influence the entirety of Mythic Europe or the fates of a small corner of the world.
Spells will be cast. Duels won and lost. Houses may rise and fall. But magic is forever.
Ars Magica has been around for a long time, the first version of the game going back to 1987. It uses d10s and stat bonuses, but the magic system in particularly is known to be a major focus of the game. Spells are rituals and must be learned, and if used too quickly, can cause fatigue. The system details a number of rules for creating magical items, studying magical books, creating new spells, binding familiars, etc. If you are interested in a medieval magic setting and decades of lore, this might be your game.
If you would like to learn more about this game, there’s an in-depth review on RPG.net that can be found here!
MEGALOS, by matura (@matty-from-megalos).
MEGALOS is a game for telling stories about adventures in the clouds, fighting evil empires, and dueling ancient gods. The Worlds of MEGALOS are vast and old, each a cosmic emanation connected to one another by the Wellspring- the source of all aether in the cosmos. Make your own World of MEGALOS or play in one of the standard ones, from the Oradam Rift to Pallid Telkane to Zone Gachette. Soar through the air in an airship, dogfight imperials, and wield aetheric magicks as a punk-rock witch.
This tabletop game is inspired by things like classic JRPGs, electronica music, and medieval alchemy. MEGALOS is the first of the creator's games to use the SLIPSTREAM game engine, which uses pools of d20s as the core of its task resolution mechanic.
As a science-fantasy setting, MEGALOS roots its magic in Aether crystals, a naturally occurring concentration of energy. This means that magic is explainable and quantifiable - meaning that you can create a lot of interesting magical technology in this game. Your characters abilities are split up over traits, skills and cutscene approaches for a mix of stat-driven and narrative play (although combat rules feature heavily in this book). There’s also character Classes and Callings, which distinguish you from other characters, and also grant you access to specific Powers and Talents. To me, this looks like each character’s approach to magic will be dependant on the categories they choose at character creation, and magic generally seems to be a common method of combat.
The full rulebook is $25, but if you want to take a look at just the plaintext rules, you can download them for free! If you’re interested in expanding the game, there’s also a Webs and Wires Supplement that includes extra options for magitek gear, new callings and classes, and expanded rules! If you like a combination of modular characters and narratively interesting choices, you might want to check this game out.
Lex Arcana, by Archeron Games.
In Lex Arcana, you are a Custos (warden) of the Cohors Auxiliaria Arcana, sent by the Emperor to the four corners of the world to further the study of arcane lore, investigate forbidden cults, and face the thread posed by dangerous supernatural creatures.
The Emperor needs you!
Join the Cohors Auxiliaria Arcana, enter the world of Lex Arcana and dive into the mysteries and dangers of ancient Rome. You and the other Custodes will travel to the four corners of the land, investigate terrifying threats, recover lost relics, unearth forgotten secrets and fight legendary supernatural creatures.
Bundle of Holding describes this game as Cthulhu Invictus meets The X-Files: it’s a game in which Rome never fell and the supernatural and arcane is a constant mystery that must be unravelled. Your characters are paragons of combat and magic, and have been recruited for the Auxiliary Cohort of Secrets, tasked with unveiling supernatural threats and stopping them. Spells in this game are called Indigitamenta, or Incantations, and represent calling onto Roman Deities for aid. Rolling in this game can use any dice - and in fact, they players can choose whether they roll a dice pool or a larger dice - 3d4, 2d6, or 1d12 for example, if your stats total 12.
I think this is a really interesting set of mechanics, and I expect the lore of drawing upon divine power to fuel your spells to be equally fun to play with. Bundle of Holding has a bundle on for this game until June 26 that’s a really great deal - you should check it out!

Best Underrated Anime Group F Round 3: #F4 vs #F7
#F4: Young boxer in futuristic Japan fights in tournament
#F7: Transmigrator heals a reincarnation revenge story
Details and poll under the cut!
Tumblr media
#F4: Megalo Box
youtube
Summary:
Follows the story of a young man that only goes by his ring name “Junk Dog”, set in the late 21st century. People live in a large metropolis, those without citizenship forced in slums called the Restricted Area. Junk Dog fights in fixed matches in the Restricted Area in a sport called Megalo Box, which is boxing augmented by metal exoskeletons.
One day, Junk Dog almost crashes into the CEO of the Shirato Company on his motorcycle, and he tries to pick a fight with her guard, Yuri. Yuri ends up fighting Junk Dog in a match, beating him and challenging him to fight him in a tournament called Megalonia. Forging an ID and taking the name Joe with help from his coach, the young fighter only has 3 months to win enough matches to rank high enough to get into the tournament and face Yuri. Not just for his pride, but also because of threats from the mafia, who wants money from Joe and his coach that they don’t have.
Propaganda:
Megalo Box is a series that got some recognition during the Crunchyroll Awards. It even aired on Adult swim’s late night anime block, even gaining a second season. But it seems like after the initial season, all interest of the show evaporated. It’s rarely talked about in fandom spaces or in anime video essays.
Which is a shame! It's a solid watch. The music is stellar. The characters are enjoyable, even if the plot of the main character Joe being a massive underdog that claws his way through a boxing tournament is a little predictable. But to be fair, this show was created to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the boxing manga Ashita no Joe.
Still, the anime keeps things fresh. It has added political commentary about class and race dynamics. Joe is brown-skinned, looks mixed, and is an undocumented citizen in the city he lives in. He has to fight in illegal fixed Megalo Box matches in the slums in order to make ends meet. Even that provides little protection, as he and his coach Ganbu get threatened by the mob for more money that they can’t produce. It also touches upon how children are abandoned and abused by the system with Sachio.
Joe is the ultimate underdog story. He ends up going by “Gearless Joe” because he fights his matches without wearing any Gear—aka the metal exoskeletons use in Megalo Box. He’s essentially boxing old-school style against others an unfair advantage with tools that augment their punches and movements. Joe did this in the first place because he was too poor to buy a new Gear, his old one falling apart, so he felt he was better off training and using his natural body in matches.
The second season also explores Joe's struggles with depression and drug addiction as he trains another Megalo Boxer, which is interesting and adds another layer to him.
Plus, the show also has racial diversity in the side characters. The English dub cast voice actors of the same ethnicities for Pepe, Chief, and Maria. Also, Kaiji Tang voices Joe, the lead.
Trigger Warnings: Child Abuse, Graphic Depictions of Cruelty/Violence/Gore.
The anime is about boxing, so characters get beaten up quite a bit (even in fantastical ways). However, there’s also some other violence threats (like Joe’s coach Nanbu getting his eye cut and threatened to earn money by the mafia). Also, a kid named Sachio joins the group to help Joe and gets beaten by thugs and threatened a few times through the series.

#F7: There’s a Pit in my Senior Martial Brother’s Brain (Wo Jia Dashixiong Naozi You Keng)
Official English title: What’s Wrong With My Big Brother Alt Title: My Dashixiong Has a Pit in His Brain
youtube
Summary:
Dongfang Xianyun transmigrates as the eldest disciple of the Care-free sect. But the only thing that goes through his mind is to make sure he doesn’t end up dying by the hands of the “main character.” He believes he’s just a side character. He just wants to relax and survive all the mayhem surrounding him while dealing with one of his jealous sect teammates, who grew corrupted in the past life.
Propaganda:
This series is kind of insane but also just a lot of fun! The thing is, the shidi (junior martial sect brother), Yin Feixing, felt betrayed by his dashixiong (eldest senior sect brother), Dongfang Xianyun, after he was seemingly rejected for ending up studying the demonic arts. After he dies, he decides to take revenge in the next life, and this is where our story starts off…
The only problem is his dashixiong has been replaced by a transmigrator. And our new Dongfang Xianyun is not as cold or uptight as the past dashixiong (but as the story unravels, was he even that bad?); rather, this version is silly and goofy and fun. And because he believes wholeheartedly that Yin Feixing is the protagonist, he doesn’t act the way a dashixiong is expected to—but it’s in this silliness that one can find sincerity…
So as Yin Feixing exacts his revenge, turning Dongfang Xianyun into a demonic arts practitioner, Dongfang Xianyun’s new soul means he won’t follow the same path as Yin Feixing. Rather than fall to ruins like Yin Feixing, his empathy and creativity means he challenges this entire world by making his fellow demonic practitioners into law-abiding heroes, even as people hate him for the demonic arts. So as multiple plots unfurl, we get a pretty emotional, thematically interesting story, even amidst all the (very funny) crazy comedy, and a clever parody of xianxia* and other transmigration stories. 😆
(*Xianxia (仙侠 xiānxiá) – literally means “Immortal Heroes”. Fictional stories featuring magic, demons, ghosts, immortals, and a great deal of Chinese folklore/mythology. Protagonists (usually) attempt to cultivate to Immortality, seeking eternal life and the pinnacle of strength. Heavily inspired by Daoism. Source)
Oh, and Gong Changsheng is best puppy! He’s such a good sunflower boy with the biggest crush on Dongfang Xianyun, and I love them so much. I think lots of others will love them too if they gave this series a chance. 🥺
The slightly evolving names for each season are fun too:
S1: 我家大师兄脑子有坑 (My Dashixiong Has a Pit in His Brain (aka “he’s really dumb/ridiculous”))
S2: 我家大师兄是个反派 (My Dashixiong Is a Villain)
S3: 我家大师兄有点靠谱 (My Dashixiong Is a Bit Reliable)
(Plus, besides the original manhua, there’s a fun chibi OVA where the cast are like actors!)
Trigger Warnings: Graphic Depictions of Cruelty/Violence/Gore. The donghua isn’t as intense as the manhua, but there is one character who flirts in a somewhat creepy manner.

Send ‘!!’ and I’ll write a para description of your muse from mine’s perspective, including:
Their looks: My Joe is all man! I think he is absolutely handsome with his ripped muscles and that mischievous smile. But he has deep brown eyes that can be very gentle and I fall for them every time. I love kissing each and every scar on his body. He has those chapped lips that I love to kiss every morning and night and whenever he holds me close, I feel so safe!
Their personality: Joe can be reckless. He proved that when he was a megalo boxer. Would you believe it that he would even go into Megalonia without gear? There was a reason why his name was Gearless Joe. He always lived life on the fast lane, but over the years, he thankfully listened to my worries and the kids too. He almost lost us during a very dark time. Though there are still scars, they are healing and he is now home doing everything he can to make amends to the kids and me. I was so happy when Sachio and the others gave him another chance. Joe proved once more that even though he can be reckless, he is also very kind, loving, and he always thought of me, our daughters, and the kids we looked after including Sachio and his friends.
And who they are to my muse: Joe is my husband, the father of my daughters, and even when we were separated, he's my soulmate. We had our ups and downs, but I never, ever regret having him in my life. We have loved each other over the years and I still find it funny that it all started with me sending a text message to him...It was when he just began his run through Megalonia and I was working with Shirato while also studying medicine. I never, ever thought he would give me a chance to meet, but...I'm glad he did because that was the beginning of our life together. Yeah, we fought at times and we were apart for a while just before the girls were born. But I'm glad we crossed paths again and became a family again.

So you want some asks? Hmmm... How about your Future Cowboys AU? I've seen from your art that Max really admires his dads so I'd like to know more about what he admires and does with them!
Hi! ^^
This might get a little long but here you go:
From what I've drawn- Yes! Max loves his dads and looks up to them very much! Since Joe Wildwest is still a notable Master Fighter he gets to do some pretty intense vivosaur matches for TV broadcasts and Max loves watching his dad's vivosaurs kick ass and his dad look cool. He even gets to sit in VIP seats during a few tourneys to cheer his dad on. Since Mags has a more quiet job it can be a bit boring at the museums and fossil archives for Max but he loves his dad's cooking! Max's favorite foods have turned out to be hamburgers and stir-fried vegetables and he usually begs for his dad to make calzones and cakes for special occasions (Joe even begs for some other food than takeout and cold sandwiches since he's still a bad cook).
Other ideas I have include:
-Joe and Mags have a heated bed due to health stuff but Max and (later) Chomp get to crawl into the bed when they're uneasy at night due to nightmares or storms or even get to nap during the day when no one is home.
-Joe is usually the one to put Max to bed when he falls asleep elsewhere and even Max likes pretending to be asleep so his dad can carry him safe and securely.
-Although his parents were hesitant to introduce their vivosaurs so early to Max he was very very very persuasive (begging) to see the vivosaur family as soon as he learned how to open his mouth and now both teams are considered very tight babysitters to Max. All of the vivosaurs are very gentle with him and mindful of their size, teeth, and claws. Max likes to rest up against one of a few with some snacks before watching a movie. He likes cuddling up with Mari the Megalo and Davey the Heracules but his favorite playmates are Gwen the Aopteryx and Goliad the Bulgon. Sissy the Coatlus and Denver the Ptera are co-parents to him and Chomp and treat them like their own flapplings when they're out.
-Same sort of goes to the Patrol Team and ex-BB Brigade Executives. They're his babysitters and non-blood-related aunts and uncles and their teams like the lil Wildwest. Max isn't afraid of boneysaurs like the rest of his class and Dina's toothy vivosaurs don't roughhouse too much with him.
-Max loves his dads very much but he never gives them differentiating nicknames to the annoyances of those outside of this family. Since he goes to public school his teachers and classmates would get confused as to which dad he was talking about. (Teacher: "Okay Max, we need to know which of your fathers is picking you up this afternoon." Max, seven years old and doesn't know his dads first names: "You know! Dad!") Joe thought it would have been a good idea to try and teach Max that he was 'Pops' and Mags was 'Daddy' but it didn't stick and the teachers were just confused. Nowadays it's just a matter of tone with how Max says 'Dad'.
-Despite how well-known Joe and his family's last name is, Max doesn't really show off his home life. When he first invites his best friends Zoe and Drake to his house he doesn't get why they're so flabbergast to see all the Master Fighters that come and go and even finally get Max to notice just how famous his family is. This information goes to his head throughout the next few years.
-Max has also inherited Mags's own clumsiness and Joe's hotheaded habits from his younger years so it's a bit of a ride to have to unpack all of that. Both habits combined with a love of dinosaurs and fossil has him running into the nearest dig site and slipping into plenty of mud.
-Chomp was a gift from Joe and Max loves his little buddy with all of his heart and wants to make a full team to fill out his roster once Chomp is a fully grown Tricera. His only problem is that he has hard luck to finding fossils and especially head fossils. Sometimes he whines to his dads to literally throw him a bone but they've held tough to the belief that he should grow into his fossil hunting boots and raising Chomp if he wants to be a good vivosaur fighter one day. This has lead to some tears on Max's end but he's always more glad to get a leg, arm, or body fossil on his own merits. It's going to take him a few good years and a lot of adventures with Chomp and his friends before he gets a full team.
-When Max was little he would get to sit in Mags's lap at his job and watch him inspect fossils.
-Max sees Joe as the defacto vivosaur specialist in the family and always goes to him for vivosaur advice on battling and caring or just to ask curious questions.
-He gets plenty of rides on Denver the Ptera and Sissy the Coatlus but Max prefers flying with Denver since he's smaller. Max wishes he had a flying vivosaur.
-Mags dotes on Max whenever he wants a hug or gets scrapes or bruises. He even likes telling tall tales such as 'I built you out of clay!' to him that Max 100% believes without a second thought until middle school where he has to piece together that he has two dads and is blood-related to them both (fun angst times woohoo).
-Joe also dotes on him but in a more classic Dad way where he carries him with one arm and throws him up into the air to pretend he can fly. There's a lot of piggyback rides and clinging to his legs.

Do you read sports manga I try to read blue lock and it so corny lol I couldn’t take the dialogues seriously at all but I have this love and hate with the genre but the longer they run the worse it gets like kuroko became super saiyan basketball player and it worse when they introduced foreign players it cause my eyes start twitching cause I know I’m going to be annoyed not because there boring but the stereotypes
Anon, as a matter of fact I generally don’t like (or at least don’t seek out) sports anime, but I have some exceptions - though if you ask me many of them don’t fit the English-speaker understanding of what “sports” anime means. Anyway, these are the ones I will stand by:
Yuri on Ice
Megalo Box (this one gets a little tired and cheesy in its drama over time but it keeps the sensibility of a classic underdog sports film. Makes sense, since it’s a spiritual remake of Ashita no Joe)
March Comes in Like a Lion/Sangetsu no Lion (one of my favorites, honestly)
Sk8 the Infinity (not my most favoritest or anything, but I did enjoy it and absolutely love Adam’s over-the-top-about-everything energy.)
If one is going to do a wild and wacky sports anime, it’s best they own it from the get-go, I think, rather than fall over itself to incorporate more and more without a clear direction. But then again, that’s my opinion of most shonen, so…

for the made-up fic title ask game, how about "Down and Out"? :)
(I'll be honest, I forgot I reblogged that one lol! But here we go anyways :D)
An obvious one would be Akihiki fighting and possibly losing one of his boxing matches. So we start with him losing this big fight and then follow him and his friends dealing with his insecurities and growing doubts.
It'd be a story about him learning to accept help from his friends, even if it's only in small pieces, and them ultimately creating a stronger bond. I would love to pull visuals from Megalo Box for this one too.
Could also be a story about a couple friends out partying, one of them having a little too much and someone needing to take care of them. This of course reveals doubts and secrets while they're in this ram-shackle intimacy. Whether they remember the night is up in the air, but honestly I think it's funnier if they do. Maybe they become a little closer than when their mutual friend (who left bc reasons) last saw them, said friend comments on it and while the main-two blush or become a bit nervous it's all in good spirits.
Couple other ideas that popped in my head:
the fic is set in a school play or in a theater or sth smiliar. I like the image of a single/lonely person on the stage in a spotlight, the only illumination of the scene, and then the light turns off. (Maybe it's the end of the play, maybe the end of the fic, maybe sth else)
Someone falling into nothingness ans maybe the fic is what flashes nefore their eyes while they come crashing down god knows where.
So yeah, that's some thoughts on that one :3 It's a neat title you've given me to work with, thank you! It carries a certain theme and feeling but is open enough to allow for a lot of adjustment/freedom.

You know what would be hilarious? If tumblr allowed 18+ content again, but only through yet another subscription thing.
with consideration to the ways in which the internet has been sanitized (tumblr included) I just find the idea that the content that was once removed SOMEHOW coming back to the platform despite that just... funny.
I don't get WHY, though?

I feel like Vector the Crocodile is Lt. Columbo if he were in his 20s.
Finally got that off my chest. Whew 💦
If I had the money I would commission an older Vector in Columbo's getup.

My #1 post of 2022
Tails, his brotherhood with Sonic, and his ability to unabashedly pursue his interests were, to child me, a fantasy I wanted to live. Wish fulfillment. Nine is closer to what I actually experienced in reality, especially the survival mindset. The isolation, both inflicted upon him and self-inflicted as a means to hide from harm.
The way he soaks up any positive interactions from Sonic sort of falls into "wish fulfillment" as well. Getting a taste of any sort of positive bond. Wanting to hold onto it while it lasts.
Especially poignant is how hard Nine clings to escaping New Yoke and living in the Grim. Escapism is something I used constantly to cope with my circumstances. Especially when video games were involved.
Of course, too much escapism isn't healthy. Eventually it stops being a sanctuary to ease the mind, and instead becomes a means to run and hide from any sort of conflict.
Nine running to the Grim and hiding away forever... it won't change how he feels. It won't heal the pain. He'll be trapped in an echo chamber with his inner demons. Forever.
As someone who hid from their life for a good chunk of time... I can't put to words just how much damage Nine will do to himself. He'll go stir crazy, and his mind will only amplify all his fear and pain. Exaggerate every negative experience he's had, or is afraid of having.
It'll kill him.

@irxnmaiden asked:
Doors?
Tumblr media
Send a word and I will write a drabble or headcanon based on it.
(I will give a warning I might be going hard on this one- This is dark with themes of sacrifice and generational trauma.)
An all-encompassing quiet, a thick shroud without the distant glimmer of stars to pierce the shadows. No wind to stir the spirit, no light to illuminate the future. This foul tradition only served as a reminder of their transgressions, a continuation of the cycle that remains unsevered from the blood-soaked ties with their reverence. The wavering shimmer of crystals waned with the dim light atop the pinnacle of Megalo. Akin to that of a feebled heartbeat, the light pulsed weakly.
Among its base did the questioning and anxious denizens of Ultra Megalopolis gather. Time and time again, they would witness the desperation of the Cymodo. How they preached their platitudes of progress and innovation, all for it to fall piteously short. There was no escaping the endless abyss they had dug themselves within, this darkness that clouded their skies and minds. Nonetheless, they carried on, fumbling through the gloom with heavy heads held high.
“People of Megalopolis.” His chill voice pierced the suffocating silence, cutting into the seeping sense of dread. “Ever has this tower served as a beacon of hope for Ultra Space. We of the URS continue to strive as the messengers of that hope so that we may be awash with light once again, now and forevermore. The time has come for the Ascension.”
He was a shell of a man, a dwindled old soul who had walked this spacial expanse for a thousand years, no less and no greater. The head of the Cymodo family, the Captain of the Ultra Recon Squad. Phyco’s father. ‘Ascension’ was not a light undertaking. It was a price made in flesh and blood, a small penance for the everlasting misery inflicted upon the Blinding One. A price paid to quell those who held fast to their animosity of ancestral wrongdoings. A price that was always dulled out by the Cymodos when it came to fulfilling their role. It was all in service to the Blinding One, all for the will of the people... Where one role ended, a new one began.
Lightless eyes latched onto the two of them, expectantly watching. Under their relentless gaze, Phyco shuddered. His face could not betray weakness in character, this was the resolve of the Cymodo Family. Yet, he could not shake the shackles that were wrapping around his skin, tight and cold as the grip his father’s hand had over his wrist. Lifted up high, that voice rang loud and clear. “By the grace of the Blinding One, a new leader will rise today. Let it be so, or perish in its radiant judgement.”
How he had rued this inevitable day, and yet here he was. His back would turn on those onlookers, only to face that door before him. A door he had known all too well, yet never ventured within himself... Its sleek frame was alight with the energy which coursed through the mechanical veins of Megalo Tower. Frozen, Phyco was harshly edged closer to fate. The pit within him grew heavier with each reluctant step towards that door. Two would enter alone, uncertain if any would return. This would be his first encounter with the Blinding One, face to face.
A rumble beneath his feet, another shudder to shake him, he could not fear it. It was the burden and the honor of their family to make it up to it... They rose, a drawn out and resigned journey up the Megalo Tower elevator. He dare not look to his father, less his stalwart stare be broken. A dull and resounding beep, arrival at their destination.
Deep, immense, unfathomable like the space it dwelled within, Necrozma idly lay within its imprisonment. Its dreary eyes were clouded with that same darkness, naught but hatred remained within its pupils. A low rumble at the approach of the ultra humans, it outstretched a weary claw towards them. Beckoning, it was expecting something as well. No longer were their hands interlocked, his father came forth fearlessly before the beast.
“Do not despise it. take its fury upon yourself and understand what must be done. If you are unable to do that, you will be scattered among the stars as I have. Promise, you’ll return through that door and shine brighter than I have.”
These were the final words spoken before its claws clamped down upon him, the full extent of his body being engulfed by pitch-black. Vicious hooks that rent through blue flesh, ripping and tearing with no regard. Blood trickled across the reflective surface of the Megalo floor. It did not have the mercy to leave his corpse intact, scattering the bloodied remains as if a discarded snack, having taken every ounce of energy possible from the carcass of that man. A thousand years spent in service, this was the gratitude of Necrozma.
And then there was Phyco. No terror was afforded, no emotion could be shown less he share in the feast. He could only watch as his father had been torn asunder. For that brief moment, the corrupted crystals upon the hide of the Blinding One shone brilliantly. An upwell of intense energy, the tower would shine far and wide across Ultra Megalopolis. Light that was too much to bear, for the ground beneath Phyco sizzled and cracked, a geyser that shot forth and seared him to the core. Struck down by Photon Geyser, Phyco was blasted away and beyond the tower...
...That was four-hundred years ago. How short was four-hundred more? Phyco stood before the same door. He had survived that day despite it all, crowned the new Captain of the URS. It would be done again with Soliera. And again. And again. And again. As it always has been throughout Ultra Human history, never to be broken until the curse of the Blinding One’s injuries was shattered.
Teeth gritted, he was resolved to find the solution before that day would come... So that none other would have to walk that same path through that door...

[Part One]
Tumblr media
"...what hit me..." Bless groaned as he sat up. Emerald hues blinked, glazed slightly over from the daze. Everything was faintly blurry, his mind still dancing back to full awareness. Claws digged slightly into the metallic road, causing a faint screech. Holographic ads flickered and glitched on the nearby buildings, their glow nearly burning the werehog's eyes. The summer breeze through his thicker werehog fur may as well have been like a blast-furnace's release.
Slowly, his vision came back into focus.
"Oh, my baby~ Got me starin' atcha~,-"
Bless' eyes instantly snapped towards the sound. His ears twitched, one turning sideways before a black hand darted out- snatching the device off the ground. He didn't even have to look to know who had called.
"Node, what's wr-"
[SIX.]The werehog's blood ran cold. [Bless,...] There was a whimper on the other end of the line. [...you're gonna die...you're gonna die,- I can't save you- Bless---]
"Node, it's gonna be okay- just listen to me, just b-" The line went dead. Bless pulled the phone away, squinting at the screen. He tried to dial again, his claws scratching up the glass.
[Node Dust Gate, at your service!-] Straight to voicemail. He stood up, emerald hues now snapping towards his remaining items. His thoughts tripped back over the last few hours as he moved to quickly gather his things- a burst of speed resulting in a mini-whirlwind as he did. Phone, ring, ID.
Node had told him they were going somewhere while he got in some extra practice at the circuit... Bless tried to concentrate-
BANG!
His phone was snapped out of his hand, a hole appearing in the center of the device.
"Hey!" He growled as he turned to the obstruction.-- It was a legion of guard-bots, silver and white metal polished, gleaming in the darkness of night as they leveled gunmetal gray barrels at the werehog. His muzzle twisted into a frown. "..c'mon, I've got somewhere to be!"
"RETURN THE ARK OF THE COSMOS."
"The what-?"
"RESISTANCE DETECTED. PREPARING TO FIRE."
Bless was offered little time to think. In a nanosecond, the 'bots had begun to unload a volley of bullets- but he was already on the move. His eyes narrowed to slits, claws slicing through metal. His fall from whatever hit him earlier had ripped the road open and dented a nearby building, cracking the glass... But it gave him material. He slung one of the broken shards of metal into the army, before stretching his arms upwards- and grabbing hold of the nearest 'bot.
"Talk about RUDE!" He slammed it into the ground. Bless had to find Node- the panic in their voice... It dumped fire into his veins, keeping him moving as he took out the enemy advance, one chunk at a time. Only once the 'bots were all in cut heaps, wires sparking and oil leaking, did Bless brush off some of the scrap that had fallen into his fur. "Next time, ask a guy before you try to give him a buzz-cut!" He huffed.
He might've had a better one-liner... But his mind was locked on a certain fox.
Ply Forest, at the only inland edge of Windmill Peninsula.
Bless took off at a dead sprint, claws and spiked shoes shredding the road without a care. He had to find Node- make sure they were alright. Make sure they were safe.
They were in danger.
He could worry about that 'Ark of the Cosmos' business later- about the glowing green ring he could just barely see out of the bottom edge of his eye, pulsing in his chest. Later. Right now- he had to find Node.
"HALT! RETURN THE ARK OF THE COSMO-" Bless roared. Of course those weren't the only 'bots in the city- but he had to find his partner, damnit! He spun, arms springing out like rubber bands, claws ripping into weak metal like tissue paper. He didn't pause to see the result of his attack as he followed through the spin, landing back on all fours and continuing his sprint.

It's almost time for Michael B. Jordan to enter the ring once more! Later this year, The Hollywood star will return to theaters in Creed III, and the sequel has fans buzzing already. The flick is promising bigger boxing matches than ever, and according to Jordan, Creed took inspiration from major anime series like My Hero Academia behind the scenes. The update comes from Jordan himself as the actor spoke with IGN during the site's FanFest event. It was there the actor admitted Creed III is going to be a beast, and it references a ton of anime. In particular, Jordan listed shonen hits like My Hero Academia, Naruto, Hajime no Ippo, and Megalo Box. All of these series feature passionate protagonists who throw mean punches, and the latter two are specifically about boxing. However, there is one anime that inspired others above the rest, and Jordan says it was Dragon Ball. "There's a punch in me and Damien's fight where there's a Dragon Ball Z punch, the actor shared. So if you have missed Goku's martial arts heyday, don't sweat it. Creed III is going to bring it back to life, so anime fans won't want to miss out on the sequel. Currently, Creed III is slated to debut on March 3rd in the United States. The movie will follow the events of Creed II a la 2018 as Donnie finally finds himself thriving at home and in the ring. However, that all changes when a former friend and boxing prodigy Dame is released from prison. The two boxers are thrust together once again in the ring with bad blood between them, and it falls to Donnie to defeat a haunting reminder of his past. ⚡️🍿🍿🥊 #comiccon #spoilermagazine #news #losangeles #podcast #magazine #art #instagram #galaxy #film #tv #hollywood #feature #movies #fandom #graphicdesign #nyc #spoiler #comicconradio #comicbooks #creed #michaelbjordan #rocky #sylvesterstallone (at Los Angeles, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/Co-waNgv1yx/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

#F4: Megalo Box
youtube

#F5: Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle (Maoujou de Oyasumi)
youtube
Propaganda:
This show is probably the single most charming parody of a fantasy RPG setting I’ve ever seen. It takes an extremely generic premise and flips it on its head with a simple shift in protagonist. The characters are all fun in their own right, but Princess Suya steals the show through extreme slapstick violence against her captors and a nonchalant attitude towards literally everything that isn’t immediately related to sleep. While it’s easy for a plot like this to quickly become comedically stale, the show is careful to avoid exhausting its premise by introducing new characters that serve as unique obstacles to Suya’s goals as well as by ramping up the audacity of her actions. Additionally, we get occasional glimpses at the hero’s party as they quest to ‘rescue’ the princess, scenes that serve both as story progression as well as a nice change of pace from the princesses antics. While the premise may not be for everyone, this show executes on its concept flawlessly for anyone who finds the premise amusing.
Trigger Warnings: None.

Alright let’s wrap up this cycle , Starting with the runway I’m not a super big fan of runway but I tried and made notes about there walks so starting with Olga
1 Olga - she look really good actually I thought she was the best walker of 3 she look confident and holds clothes really well her first walk was stellar she walk nicely and held her own the pink runway and feathers wasn’t as strong but still good
2 Kyveli - Kyveli did good on her 2nd walk in the pink outfit and the feathers but I really wasn’t a fan of her first walk she looked weak and the way she was walking I was afraid she might fall which I don’t think is really good for runway
3 Kosos - His walk was ok he never looked weak or struggled in any major areas I just don’t like his walk in general it’s very hippy and he sways his body a lot it makes sense for him but I think I would’ve like to see him tone it down
Liquor Ads
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Before we start I will say the liquor ads where fucking wild it more or less looked like an editorial rather then an ad for a product with how much had to be done
1 Olga - I don’t think anyone did anything more then the other but I will say Olga In this ad just command attentions and I think she’s stunning she did everything well
2 Kosos - Kosos looked really cool I like his vibe In the commercial but him in it didn’t really make sense if I’m being honest he looked good and acted good is walking was actually toned down he might’ve done the best out of the 3 but for me his look was just kinda random
3 Kyveli - Again she did alright an all aspects of the brand she looks sleek and cool and edgy but her presence was just kinda timid in the commercial in moments where I felt you where suppose to leave an impression she just didn’t and do that so she lands in the bottom spot
Overall the winner was Kyveli !!!!!!!
I think she was definitely the number 1 choice for a winner she took a few weeks to get her stride but once she started she never stop being at the top and typically dominated the competition she was given the villain edit mainly because she wasn’t friends with most of them
Onto Kosos , Olga I would’ve rather Kosos win personally he was my number one pick to win when the cycle started and I’m glad he made it to too 3 but I do think he was a tad weaker then Kyveli and his 3 FCO where def given I think unfortunately to be “woke” as he I only agreed with His art photo being FCO his concert FCO they put him in a skirt and his photo was good but there was a lot better and the other one was his gender fluid photo it def wasn’t FCO it was def. Good but he was i more worthy of a runner up I think onto Olga I think she’s an odd choice for a runner up she very much was plain and stunning but I think this cycle theme was more about like a newer more unique kinds beauty which is why I think people like Ageos and Dino’s John and Styleanos where Eliminated because they where much more classic and why I think Napoleon was pushed so hard overall I really liked this cycle and I’m sad next cycle guys won’t be returning

A collab with my roomate Clyde! He made these lines for me 2 or 3 years ago and I finally got around to putting color to these. We nicknamed the design Fodus. He's essentially like if Evil!Stan was a Ford. He worships Bill Cipher and is like a priest. His name is still Stanford of course. His bones are made out of that purple crystal and so are his teeth. The same crystal has grown over his many mechanical prosthetics including those things on his ears (they enhance hearing). The crystal that composes his arm can absorb magic and deflect it. He's devoted his life to Bill Cipher and even modified his own body to show his devotion. When Clyde drew him I described basically a mix of aviator, portal Ford, and magical cultist. Along with that creepy skeletal arm which has the zodiac inscribed in it. My partner also helped me with coloring the outfit by suggesting the square priest collar thing which I made into a triangle as I felt it fitting. We've been really into the Faith pc game lately. I'll hopefully be making more of this guy eventually. He's part of the citadel of fords AU and the megalofalls aus I have going on. I'll probably reveal more lore as time goes on.
