I’ve come to the conclusion that there two ways people in danmei get into martial arts
A. High-born person who learns it from a young age and becomes obsessed with it
B. Low-born(or made lower class due to circumstances) person who picks it up for the sake of raising their social status and/or become powerful to compensate
Quan Yizhen is somehow both of these and neither at the same time

List of the questions we had this season
After episode 8, I made a list of questions we had this season (you can find it HERE if you want to check it out) and I figured I would return to it at the end of it to see if they did answer and.... I'm going to break it down and see what questions are left to answer after season 2
Here are the list of questions we had after episode 8 and how they answered them:
Who gave Lu Guang the photo and wrote “save my good brother” in childish letters ?
Li Tianxi wrote "save my good brother" and Li TIanchen gave the photo to Lu Guang.
How does Red eye’s power work ? Is there more than one person being Red eyes ?
Red eyes was mostly Li Tianchen with Li Tianxi's help. Li Tianxi can see a person's memories and feeling through photo and Li Tianchen can control them by touch, if they work together, they can control someone through photos in the present, they can't go back in time like Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang though.
Does Li Tianxi has powers ?
Yes, she did.
Who killed Liu Lan, who was possessing her when she finally defended herself and what happened before the end of the night ?
We got so much answers in the last episode. The husband killed her by stabbing her and she was possesed by LI Tianchen because he wanted her to defend herself, making the whole thing even more tragic.
What is the end of the fox story and what is the significance of said fox story for the plot ?
Well... The fox story was just Li Tianchen and Li Tianxi's story so technically it only ended for one of them, "she returned home" by dying (we think ? is she confirmed dead ?)
What happened during the investigation of his wife’s murder to make Qian Jin so resentful and so okay with killing his ex-colleagues ?
I was so sure this was going somewhere. turn out I asked the wrong question. The question I should have asked was, what happened to his wife ? He killed her after he assumed she was cheating because this guy was genuinely the worst and he was okay with killing his ex-colleagues because he is just awful.
Who is the unnamed friend ?
Hat guy, Yay.
Which leads me to who is hat guy ?
Liu Xiao, Liu Min's younger brother.
What was the vision of Cheng Xiaoshi dying in Lu Guang’s arms ?
Well... We had that answered.
Lu Guang is from the future and is actively trying to change it and that was his memories (or did change it and is now living in the changed present, a bit unclear ?)
All of this options means another question, what are Lu Guang’s power actually ?
That we don't really have the answer. He clearly had, at some point, Cheng Xiaoshi's powers but considering we think Qiao Ling just got Li Tianxi's power after she died, it is pretty likely that the original power belonged to Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang got them after he got shot and died in the first timeline and his original power where seeing 12 hours in the past with a photo.
What else is he hiding from us and Cheng Xiaoshi ?
Well.. a lot, see above answer. Let's just say he is a teeni tiny bit of an hypocrite who couldn't deal with Cheng Xiaoshi's death and went back in time to save him.
Who saved Cheng Xiaoshi the first time ?
Who knows ? Not that important in the grand scheme of things actually. I think now it was always Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang's intent was to always sacrifice himself anyway.
Was the phone and the photo for Cheng Xiaoshi or was it a way for Lu Guang to see what happen in the next 12 hours (or both) ?
I think it was for Cheng Xiaoshi, Not really answered though.
Are the numbers of the code significant ?
They are. The time and date of Cheng Xiaoshi's death. Lu Guang really is out there torturing himself by putting that on his phone so that he can see it everyday.
What are the significance of the other objects in the opening ?
The gun was both a foreshadowing of the last episode and it is what killed Cheng Xiaoshi in the first timeline.
The diary... I don't really know, maybe I'm forgetting something.
What is the significance of the entire opening actually ?
Well...foreshadowing that big twist at the end of episode 12.
Leftover question from season 1
What happened to Cheng Xiaoshi’s parents ?
We still don't know
What happened during that summer vacation ? Can we have more information on this ?
Well that's not answered yet but considering the date on the phone was in early (ish) september, it is possible this is when Cheng Xiaoshi died the first time.
Here is some unanswered questions left after episode 12:
How, when, where Cheng Xiaoshi died and who killed him in the first place ?
It was hat man in the study with the chandelier. I think it's been pretty much confirmed that he was killed with a gun and I think he died during the summer vacation (but that's just a theory as far as we know) and we have no idea who killed him in the first place and why.
Did Lu Guang save Cheng Xiaoshi from death several times ?
I got the impression he did it once and just continued living with him in that reality but timeline shenanigans could still be at play here.
How will Cheng Xiaoshi react to the twist ?
Probably very badly.I hate to say this. I have a bad feeling that would make him very furious (I mean that's fair I think) and he might get dangerously reckless/sacrificial ? (how do you deal with living a life you were never supposed to be living because you are supposed to be dead)
Did Qiao Ling actually get Li Tianxi's powers ?
I want her to get them. I think she did.
Is Qiao Ling going to be the one figuring out what Lu Guang's vision is and what she saw ?
Yes more proactive Qiao Ling. Gimme it.
Is Li Tianxi even dead ?
I mean she was shot and looked pretty dead to me but they didn't really confirm it.
What does Hat man want (I know he has a name but hat man is funnier) ?
Is he going to target Cheng Xiaoshi because he is supposed to be dead ? Is this what happening ?
And the biggest mystery of them all...How did Xiao Li get a promotion when he is terrible at his job and one of the civilian who was under his supervision got killed under his watch and two others got kidnapped, tortured and/or shot ?
Like How ?

Link Click S2 EP3 spoilers
Ok so Shiguang softly touching hands (Lu Guang gently resting his on top of Cheng Xiaoshi's, Cheng Xiaoshi lifting his palm to support the weight) was so painfully soft, BUT what also got me was their conversation before hand.
Cheng Xiaoshi's just returned from Chen Bin's funeral (that whole scene was so sad omg😭) and he looks so tired and defeated — he practically slumps into the chair. Lu Guang doesn't say anything, just quietly supportive. And then Cheng Xiaoshi just has to say that he wants to help Chen Bin and his wife (wait, does she have a name? I can't remember), with such a pained expression and Lu Guang knows what he wants to do. Like, their relationship has developed in such a short time that Cheng Xiaoshi trusts that Lu Guang will allow him to use his powers, and Lu Guang trusts Cheng Xiaoshi to not try to change anything but provide comfort through the words Chen Bin's wife needs to hear.
They have a better understanding of each other's perspectives and have found a balance. And while the prolonged contact rather than their usual clapping could be a comfort thing (especially since we know Cheng Xiaoshi can dive by himself) and/or to minimise movement onu Guang's part, the gesture seems to convey: I am here and I trust you.

A Dream of Splendor. 9
Story: 9
Acting: 10
Chemistry: 10
Comparable to: New Life Begins (cdrama) ; Under the Power (cdrama); The Story of Ming Lan (cdrama)
If you’re into historically heavily female oriented driven cast then this cdrama will be right up you alley. It’s wonderfully written and extremely well acted all around with a more mature written vibe to it. The cinematography and visuals are gorgeous and breathtaking. It does have some bumps here and there in the pacing towards the middle and end felt a bit rushed, but nothing major. The chemistry between the main leads is one of my favorites. The glances, the coy smiles, oof, smexy as heck. It’s definitely a recommendation and a must watch if you love period pieces.

Unpopular opinion: There is no Link Click “trio.” It’s just the ShiGuang Duo + Qiao Ling
Now, before the Qiao Ling fans come after me, I just want to make it clear that I do not hate Qiao Ling. She’s a queen, and I love her. What I do hate, however, is the writers’ neglect of her character.
Warning: This will contain major Link Click season 1 and 2 spoilers.
Cheng Xiaoshi, Lu Guang, and Qiao Ling have been marketed as the main trio right from the OPs and EDs all the way to the different official artworks and PVs. But despite this, Qiao Ling has never been portrayed like a protagonist in the story itself. Her value has always been tied to some other character, and what’s sadder is that even as a supporting character, she’s still being neglected by the writers.
Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang both have something in themselves that push the story forward. Cheng Xiaoshi’s recklessness in s1 is what gives tension to the dives and what leads to the overarching plot related to Emma. His planning in s2 also keeps the plot going. On the other hand, Lu Guang acts as the voice of reason, grounding the fantasy aspect of the show. His hypocrisy revealed in s2 also reshapes how we view the entire story.
But what about Qiao Ling?
Throughout most of season 1, she’s been kept in the dark about ShiGuang’s powers, which in turn excludes her from a big part of the story. In s1, it was only during the kidnapping arc that we see a bit more about her, but the focus wasn’t on her at all but on some random extra. And at the last episode when she finally gets to be in on the whole eye power thing, Li Tianchen possesses her, overshadowing Qiao Ling entirely and redirecting our attention and interest to him. (Extra: In season 1, between Qiao Ling and Emma, would you dare say Qiao Ling is the protagonist? I bet you won’t.)
Then in s2, despite Qiao Ling’s extra screen time and more involvement in the plot, the neglect of her character is even more palpable. She got possessed by a murderer, nearly killed her friend, and even tried to stab her own brother, but even after all these, we barely get to see how she had to process everything.
It’s really no surprise many people loved this scene:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This, for me, is the one time, the ONE time Qiao Ling is portrayed as a character on equal grounds with Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang. If Link Click were a sports anime, this would be the scene where she discards her role as the female manager over a bunch of male athletes and expresses her desire to become a player as well.
But unfortunately, after this episode, Qiao Ling is once again pushed to the sidelines. She’s a player now, yes, but a player who’s just being pushed along the game. She may take the initiative in some things (like talking to Li Tianxi), but even then, the things she do are all still just to help her friends. You know, like a supporting character. None of what she’s doing is for herself alone. (If any Blue Lock fans are reading this, Qiao Ling has no “ego,” so to speak.)
Qiao Ling has no goals of her own, and this is how the writers failed her.
All the other major characters have their own goals. Heck, even the antagonists are more like protagonists than Qiao Ling.
Cheng Xiaoshi wants to find his parents. And he also just wants to help the people he meets in dives
Lu Guang selfishly broke the rules of time travel just to keep one man alive and will do it again if he must
Li Tianxi betrays her brother and Qian Jin just to find a way home
Li Tianchen approaches ShiGuang and later kidnaps Cheng Xiaoshi because he also wants to go home
And Liu Xiao wants to, I don’t know, change the rules of time and space entirely?
God, writing that last bullet makes me realize that even Liu Xiao, who only showed up in the last episode of season 2, has more weight in the story than Qiao Ling. This is ridiculous.
Seriously, what is Qiao Ling even here for??? Play big sister???
Just market her as a supporting character. It’s fine. She’s still badass.
I also don’t have much hopes over how she will be in season 3 because of how season 2 ended. Qiao Ling seeing Lu Guang’s memories means her worth in s3 will inevitably be tied to this secret. It’s the s1 ending all over again. At the end of s1, her worth was tied to the mysterious Red Eyes. At the end of s2, it’s tied to Lu Guang.
If the Link Click writers are gonna keep pushing her as a protagonist, then they better start treating her like one!
It’s not enough to just give Qiao Ling a goal, by the way (although it is very important too). She must also become a player who has the power to control how the game goes. If she ends up inheriting Li Tianxi’s powers, as many theories have said, then may the drama around her not be focused on how she may leak Lu Guang’s secret at any time.
I don’t know what she could do with her powers, but I think it would be very interesting if she ends up opposing Lu Guang.
Lu Guang wants to keep Cheng Xiaoshi alive, but...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
...he’s no longer alive. The Cheng Xiaoshi we see is just a glimpse of the past...
What if… as Qiao Ling sees more of Lu Guang’s memories, she sees more of the real Cheng Xiaoshi and suddenly… wants to let go… wants to move on?
The fandom have talked a lot about how ShiGuang may react once the secret is out. But what about how Qiao Ling would react to it over time as she realizes those memories weren’t just her overthinking things?
In season 1, she couldn’t bear to face that kid’s father for years, and at the end of s2, she couldn’t bear to confront Lu Guang… In s3, how long can she bear looking at her dead brother?
The chances of her “giving up” Cheng Xiaoshi and returning to the original timeline is slim, though. I’m just giving an example of how she can be more like a protagonist.
Anyways, I’ll end here… I still have so many thoughts, but I can’t figure out how to organize them. This has also been in my drafts for over two weeks and I just want to post it already!

Hello everyone I come to you bearing my crack kpop au(cpop :?). More info under cut
The group starts as a stupid idea Cheng Xiaoshi pitches to the then trio. At first they wave it off as a possibility, but none of them have any plans past highschool so with enough prodding they give it a shot.
They meet Liu Xiao and Li Tianchen while undergoing training, and afterwards form their five person group.
Qiao Ling gives them concepts to work with and Lu Guang and Cheng Xiaoshi tagteam writing the songs for the group. lg usually writes the lyrics while cxs writes the music, tho they can switch.
For the most part its a silly crack au where everyone gets to live and dick around, but their initial manager is Qian Jin before he gets replaced by Xiao Li so. Take that as angsty as you so desire. Personally I’m taking it to canon levels.
Oh! And as far as Xixi goes she’s still def a part of this. While not an official member she’s a great dancer and will occasionally join them for dance challenges or music videos. Otherwise she lived with Qiao ling :).

List of questions we have so far
Who gave Lu Guang the photo and wrote "save my good brother" in childish letters ?
It's either Li Tianchen or Li Tianxi, I think after episode 8, we are supposed to think it was Li Tianxi but I don't know actually.
How does Red eye's power work ? Is there more than one person being Red eyes ?
We know Li Tianchen is the one controlling them but we don't really know how, we thought it was by photo in the beginning of the season but Li Tianchen didn't have a photo of Cheng Xiaoshi when he controlled him but he had physical contact with him so maybe touch ? but then again he wasn't touching Emma or Chen Bin to make them jump or Qiao Ling to make her stab Lu Guang.
So maybe he has a partner who can do something with photos like LG and CXS and both of them are actually foils to or main duo.
Does Li Tianxi has powers ?
...Maybe ?
Who killed Liu Lan, who was possessing her when she finally defended herself and what happened before the end of the night ?
Here is what we know at the end of the night so far: We know that both the dad and the mom are dead and the two kids are still very much alive. We know That asshole was probably killed by Liu Lan with the hammer and we know that she died because she was stabbed by someone but we don't even know where the knife come from because there is no knife during the scene we watched.
We know that Cheng Xiaoshi accidentally possessed her but didn't really seem to be in control, he just was watching the scene through her eyes and that he seems to have been losing contact wit Lu Guang when Li Tianchen touched him several times before that.
We know that when she started defending herself, she kicked his ankle with her foot, which to me, seemed to be beyond her physical capabilities at that moment (considering how much of a beating she took) so is she already someone else there ?
What is the end of the fox story and what is the significance of said fox story for the plot ?
No idea, we'll see next week I think.
What happened during the investigation of his wife's murder to make Qian Jin so resentful and so okay with killing his ex-colleagues ?
I really feels like we are missing something here, he is not just angry with the guy who they let escape and the justice system, he seems furious at the group of policemen who were with him.
Also his actual reaction to the kidnapping of Lu Guang is that he doesn't really want him dead which is wild compared to how he react every time he kills one of his ex-colleague.
Who is the unnamed friend ?
Three options I think
Baby Cheng Xiaoshi: but I don't really believe it's him, his voice actor is incredibly different from adult!CSX and child!CSX and what he is saying to Li Tianchen is completely out of character and way too cynical for him as a child and as an adult.
Baby Lu Guang: We don't really know what he was like as a child and we don't have his baby voice (yet) so I think it's bit more likely ? But I also don't think it's him either.
Hat guy, I think he is the more likely one.
Which leads me to who is hat guy ?
The only theory I've seen is that he is Liu Min's younger brother. I think that's pretty likely. We have no motive for him (yet) and we don't even know what he looks like.
What was the vision of Cheng Xiaoshi dying in Lu Guang's arms ?
I have three options here:
Lu Guang actually had a vision of the future even if he doesn't realize it while dying.
Lu Guang is from the future and is actively trying to change it and that was his memories.
Lu Guang is from the future and is actively trying to change it and that was his memories but this isn't his first time (timeloop theory)
All of this options means another question, what are Lu Guang's power actually ?
Can he actually jump back in time ? can he sees things that hasn't happened yet without the need of a photo or a camera ?
And does that mean we haven't seen all of what Cheng Xiaoshi can do with his ?
What else is he hiding from us and Cheng Xiaoshi ?
What are your secrets Lu Guang ? How do you know so much about time travel ? What do you know ???????
Who saved Cheng Xiaoshi the first time ?
Cheng Xiaoshi and Qiao Ling seems to think it was CXS from the future but there are inconsistencies. If it was, nothing would have changed. The kettle would not have been used for exemple.
Was the phone and the photo for Cheng Xiaoshi or was it a way for Lu Guang to see what happen in the next 12 hours (or both) ?
I honestly think it's both. I think Lu Guang let himself be captured knowing Cheng Xiaoshi would try this specifically but does that mean he is counting on Cheng Xiaoshi changing the future ?
We don't really know if Lu Guang knows Cheng Xiaoshi knows his code but he left it in view instead of taking it with him and didn't delete the photo ? That's sus. even if he doesn't know that Cheng Xiaoshi knows his code, he has to assume the police would have a way to open his phone.
Are the numbers of the code significant ?
They emphasized this so much not to be, right ? right ? Is it a date ? (I checked and according to google the date in mandarin is Years/months/days which would make those numbers not a date considering the middle one is 13).
What are the significance of the other objects in the opening ?
We have the gun, the diary and the photos (also the Gameboy but I'm less sure about that one). We think the gun is linked to the vision, maybe. That would be the weapon that injures/kills Cheng Xiaoshi in said vision but we have no clue about the diary/book.
What is the significance of the entire opening actually ?
No idea.
Leftover question from season 1 (which will probably not be answered this season, or it'll be part of the cliffhanger).
What happened to Cheng Xiaoshi's parents ?
Did they went to buy cigarettes and never came back or is it another time travelly thing. Are we going back to that time with Cheng Xiaoshi at some point (Yes) ? I want to know. Also it would be great for character development.
What happened during that summer vacation ? Can we have more information on this ?
Okay this one is less theory based and more, I would like to know for reasons (tm) but also it feels like another chekov gun. It's a set up that has to pay off somewhere. Is this where they got theirs powers ? or is this the moment where they both realised the other had powers and they could do something with it ? or maybe I just want to know because shenanigans (also I want to see Cheng Xiaoshi recieving the call from Shanshan and Qiao Ling asking him if they came back from overseas earlier because they just saw him in front of them).
I think I covered all the questions, if you think of something else, please add it to that post.

Hello Rainbowsky,
Is it true that someone really booked 26 screenings of One and Only. Or is it a rumour?
And if it’s true, 26 screenings mean it is dedicated to WYB’s 26th birthday.
So, WYB, Chongqing, very rich and anonymous identity does not it points to one person? => XZ
What do you think?
Hi Anon! 😊
Tumblr media
Fake, fan fiction, CPN.
It's true that there were such bookings made in Chongqing (GG's hometown, and where his family lives).
It's not proved who is behind the bookings, but the number is an interesting coincidence given that DD is turning 26 soon. We know that GG and DD often signal their birthdays this way.
And whoever it was bought all the expensive high end theaters where tickets are difficult to sell, and left the affordable ones for passersby, which was thoughtful - like a rabbit we all know.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(source)
The same thing was done for Born to Fly. 30 screenings were bought out. A friend told me that a box office analyst even took note of it, saying that the film was doing better in Chongqing than anywhere else in the country. 😅
Other celebrities have been buying screenings - a long list of them, some of them including (source):
Kara Wai - Hu Jun - Wang Chuanjun - Victoria Song Qian - Yin Zheng - Wu Lei - Yu Shi - Ni Hongjie - Qiao Shan - Wang Shengnan - Meng Hetang - director Su Liang - Wang Yitai - Dong Sicheng - Jia Ling - Jia Bing - Liu Xiaoshi - Huang Yi
And there are likely more who've booked screenings, but they're all open about it, and post openly about their support for DD and their best wishes for the success of the film. And no one is booking a large number of screenings like this.
30 screenings, 26 screenings - this is an extravagant expense, and done anonymously. That points to GG AFAIAC. He doesn't do half measures. He drops bombs, as we all know. He's not subtle.
Yes, it's a gift but I think it's also a flex. He's showing that he supports DD in a big way, and will spare no expense.
Those who know, know.
DD said Leos love to be praised. This is definite praise. It's sweet to picture DD's smug spoiled smile when he finds out about things like this. He knows he's loved, and he knows that others know it too. That's something that would definitely please him.
Of course, this is total CPN. We have no way of verifying.

《XƎTЯOVerthink》 Kaleidoscope Analysis
Remember those funky little toys called kaleidoscopes you used to play with as a kid? The ones you'd twist and look into it to see shifting reflections with pretty colors? Yeah, yeah these guys.
Tumblr media
Well I noticed the new Link Click MV heavily incorporates a kaleidoscope as a visual motif. Throughout the MV there’s imagery involving mirrors and rainbows and repeated patterns and rays of light, all qualities of a kaleidoscope.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The most direct references are this frame which illustrates the mirror physics of a kaleidoscope:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And this frame illustrating the repeating patterns displayed within a kaleidoscope:
Tumblr media
Seeing all this imagery got me thinking as to why it’s all there. The clock and camera imagery within the show make more obvious sense to their meanings, but kaleidoscopes don’t have anything to do with anything we’ve explicitly seen in the show before. However, after some thinking, I believe the kaleidoscope motif is a lot more relevant than it may seem.
The word “kaleidoscope” itself comes from Greek roots, which translate into “observation of beautiful forms”. To me, this MV seems to be painting Red Eyes as the current observer in control of the kaleidoscope.
The aspect of a kaleidoscope being a toy causes me to think about the line from Vortex, “But Imma win this silly game / until then I will never leave”. During those lyrics is when we see Red Eyes appear.
Tumblr media
From what we've seen of the two different Red Eyes (likely siblings/twins), they appear to be children. With that info, it wouldn’t be surprising if the Red Eyes we’ve seen take control of Qiao Ling and Liu Min still views this whole thing as a game (toy), especially after being lured into the “game” set up by CXS and LG. Red Eyes is just playing with power to entertain themself, the same way a child would play with a kaleidoscope for entertainment.
Additionally, CXS, along with other characters throughout this MV, appears to be trapped in the kaleidoscope with the way the reflected colored light and fractals or glass are displayed around them. It even seems like Qian Jin is trapped, possibly implying he’s a mere pawn in this game as well.
What I find most intriguing though is the fact that the tiniest rotation of a kaleidoscope creates drastic changes regarding what is seen inside the toy. There’s a seemingly infinite display of patterns. This idea parallels the visuals that show multiple (infinite?) versions of CXS. Some of which are dead, others distraught or gravely injured.
Tumblr media
I think the kaleidoscope motif is yet another metaphor for time. Those that have the power to control it with slight changes, the unthinkable number of possible outcomes…thinking of it in this way all starts to make sense. The ones trapped in the kaleidoscope are all at the mercy of time and the ones who control it. Thus, this narrative must rely on “the ones aren’t in control”.
Many have already been speculating this, but I’m also getting the sense that there have been multiple timelines that have been manipulated way before the events of Season 1 began. And those events all involved a sort of engineering of CXS’s fate.
Which leads me to…what the heck is Lu Guang hiding??
One of the first visuals we see is LG falling during the line “When I’ve sunken so low”.
Tumblr media
This lyrical imagery can be paired with the line “Knowing it all, am I destined to fall / Like once you did for me”. I feel like these are implying LG has had transgressions of his past. He’s undergone mistakes that have caused him to fall. Again, multiple people have raised this point, but there must be a reason LG is so strict about the time travel rules. Is it because he’s learned them first-hand the hard way before?
What if LG previously manipulated the timelines in order to save CXS over and over again?
Immediately following the “like once you did for me” lyric is a montage of the way LG came into CXS’s life.
Tumblr media
This visual and the coupled lyrics add to the idea that LG saved CXS and his past actions led to the moment in time we’re currently watching as an audience.
I also want to point out the line of “Where do we end up when we save the world?”. What if LG already disrupted the timeline enough by saving CXS and has now sworn off any further timeline changes in order to protect the current present, leaving Red Eyes with complete authority over its manipulation. He’s already completed his past objective but is now left dealing with the adverse effects.
Anyways, this is just a theory, a LINK CLICK THEORY.

Link Click: 时光代理人
Gonna rant/ ramble obsess about Link Click
I watched the whole two seasons in two days and had to wait 5 minutes for the update for the last episode so i can't image the pain of those who had to wait 2 years for season 2. Hopefully didn't just jinx that
some quick notes that I think are hilarious:
Qian Jin for those who don't know chinese, his characters are 钱进: which means Money, enter (come in).
The anime name ShiGuang DaiLi Ren 【时光代理人】 translates to "time" "On the behalf of" and "person/ people", so the meaning is someone who (sees) manipulates/ alters time (for you).
These are just some random notes about SGDLR/ LC that I have, but most of the ranting will happen below, although it's heavy on the spoilers so I wouldn't read if you haven't seen everything yet.
SPOILERS BELOW
The comment section on crunchyroll has most of the questions i had covered but some things i'm still thinking about:
1. Lu Guang can't fight (we see this in episode 6 + 7 when it's confirmed that Cheng Xiaoshi is the one in his body on the pier). Secondly, he's still recovering from his injury from season 1 finale, but he's out here landing punches and putting daddy Terminator Qiao Jin in choke holds etc etc in the finale. This means that it's likely that's actually Cheng Xiaoshi in Lu Guang's body (again) for that fight.
a. Which brings the question of Lu Guang Diving into the photos at the end of episode 12: did he acquire Cheng XiaoShi's powers (can powers be transferred as shown through Xixi (they call her Xiao Xi actually, but translation said no, just call her XiXi because "little xi" doesn't match syllables or sound as cute/ make as much sense)'s death and Qiao Ling. Maybe TianXi just showed QiaoLing the memories, but I kind of hope the power was transferred to QiaoLing since XiXi is dead (this is true because of the title of the final episode).
b. If this it is true that Lu Guang has Cheng XiaoShi's power to dive he'd be unstoppable with both powers as just him. My friend said as a joke "maybe his hair is white because he's secretly old af from all of the diving he's done." I think though that Lu Guang is probably younger than Cheng XiaoShi because it would be ironic he's technically more mature.
2. this (official art btw) drawing of Qian Jin, the shadow is of Liu Xiao, the eldest brother in the rich family (aka 'Hat Guy')— so perhaps the mastermind behind that family is actually the brother/ Liu Xiao/ Hat Guy, and not Qian Jin.
Tumblr media
a. The brother, Liu Xiao, was also abroad for the past few years and I'm sure that has an important part to play— Im curious what that means for the next season. I have no ideas about it, but I'm intrigued.

Season Two Link Click Thoughts
I've put this below a cut because it gets long, but these are just my assorted thoughts on s2 in general. It's going to be waaaay more opinions than my usual speculationy kinda deal and contains spoilers for all of season two.
I hit character limit on my bullet points so I think that's my cue to leave it at that even though I have more thoughts honestly. I didn't even know that was a thing.
Pacing. I think pretty much everyone can agree that the pacing was... dubious. This series could have easily been shorter or had different meaningful content rather than repeated footage reuse for flashing back and overly extended fight scenes (episode 7? I think it was, was particularly egregious about this). I get there's presumably a fanbase for fight scenes and I won't contest that they were really nicely choreographed, but sometimes it felt like you'd take a break from actual events to spend ten minutes on a fight scene that didn't really... further anything else? I do enjoy recontextualisation and I recognise that that does require reusing some aspects of footage rather than entirely reanimating scenes when there's no need to, but at the same time, this is a series that is lowkey set up for binging. Flashing back so frequently when it's a series specifically engineered to make you binge it (hi constant cliffhangers) seems an odd recipe. I almost wonder how much of this was for production reasons, though maybe I'm overreaching here.
Linked to this is the overuse of cliffhangers. Season 1 had some cliffhangers, yeah, but it at least had breaks between arcs and more importantly, didn't repeatedly move the chronology of scenes purely to service an artificial cliffhanger.
Art and animation was mostly very nice. There were two episodes that did suffer art-wise (episodes three and eleven) with various off-model faces, but for the most part it was all pretty solid and I don't have any complaints about the animation. My favourite part of the art is still the almost rainbow outlines you get around objects. It made scenes like the Lu Guang speedboat one look gorgeous with the lights and colour on the water.
Mystery. Okay, so for all my qualms I genuinely think the mystery aspects were almost perfect. There were a couple of places I feel they somewhat 'cheated' but otherwise (the twin with the photo in the hospital doorway looking like tianxi in a close up shot. and then cxs/wj acting possessed in ep 6 but having their eyes appear normal at first and only having them changed the next episode. I'm fine with false negatives on the eyes when the audience isn't yet cued in on a possession, but in this case it looked like they were possessed up until the eyes showed otherwise)? Everything made total sense and tied together by the end. Even going into episode 12 we had a couple of gaps in scenes in Chen Bin and Liu Lan's death that I think it would be incredibly easy to overlook considering we "knew" what happened in them, but the hints were there in both cases that there was more to it and those hints paid off. Even Liu Xiao's identity worked just fine without the hat guy visual. All the hints were there about a younger favoured brother of the Liu family, Li Tianchen's new friend being a rich "Master Liu", him being abroad studying but stated as "soon to return" (which he then did). There are so many threads and they all tied together by the end such that even if I didn't always agree with the delivery, I do think this season is worthy of being called an excellent mystery.
Characters. So, okay, we introduced a whole host of new characters this time which was a choice. This sorta worked sorta didn't. The arcs of Qian Jin and the twins all tied together thematically and episode 9 was pretty explicit drawing the parallels together. However, we had characters like Qiao Ling not getting much new material at all despite a hopeful start with her scene about "wanting to be trusted".
Unfortunate implications (my head automatically goes to TV Tropes with this :V). Mainly surrounding the use of female characters as devices to propel the male characters. LTX is the most obvious instance (I shouldn't have to explain why), but Wang Juan was also treated as though she would be important and then largely shunted off to apply more pressure to XL; Liu Min's mum taking the hysterical role. On their own they may not be too bad, but I guess it's that it's combined with the stuff around Emma from s1 where the big 'twist' in the finale is killing her once there's a hope spot, and also added to how the mother in the Doudou episode is the one who's reverted to a younger age, whilst the dad is exhausted. Just a whole load of stuff that individually on their own don't necessarily mean anything but when put together forms a pattern I'm not super comfortable with? I do get the impression that show is well-meaning in terms of this stuff (QJ and LF especially point that way) but feel like it still fell down in a few places and could have done better with these aspects.
Lu Guang going back to save CXS confirmed. Admittedly I am incredibly biased to this type of plot, but I'm so glad they confirmed it. We haven't been given many specifics around when he went back from/to and I imagine we'll get more next season so I'm holding off judgement on all that for now (the paradox implications have me a bit worried but until we know more about the mechanics I can't judge). That said, I really liked the scene where it was comfirmed (the darkened shot of Lu Guang covered in blood my beloved) and am thinking that Qiao Ling having knowledge of Lu Guang's memories will mean she has to play a bigger role next season. There's no point in giving her that knowledge if it won't go somewhere. Relatedly, it seems like dying does pass on the powers and that's how we got LTX->QL and CXS->LG. It doesn't seem like Qiao Ling fully realises though if she has got Tianxi's powers (and it's been two months), but I suppose it's not exactly something you *would* realise if you didn't know what you were looking for or had previous experience with these powers.
I do genuinely think that this season was a case where the new characters were written around the existing ideas of the story and the themes which means they're interesting to analyse but I didn't feel like moments hit anywhere near as emotionally as season one? I think the parts where season two was able to approach season one's level of emotion were mainly around the twin's backstories. Meanwhile Qian Jin and Xiao Li's whole deal is interesting in theory but in practice I didn't have much reason to care for Xiao Li. Suffering to make the audience empathise only really "works" if there's more beyond that.
Lu Guang-Li Tianchen parallels make me sad. There are plenty of similarities in how they treat CXS and LTX respectively but I keep thinking of how their final choice in s2 is to either commit to preserving the past (Lu Guang with CXS) or to let go of the past (Li Tianchen with LTX and his mum). And how typically, clinging to the past is seen as a bad thing and letting it go a good thing. But in this case it's almost the opposite? I'm not saying it's healthy for Lu Guang to deny Cheng Xiaoshi's death, but I do think the story will eventually align behind him on this choice. And I think that Li Tianchen leaving the past behind in this case is more about trying to forget his trauma and in the process just digging himself deeper, deliberately choosing to forget the very person he fought to protect.
General s3 spec (keeping it brief). Li Tianchen confirmed that he obtained Liu Min's phone for Liu Xiao and it has info on it Liu Xiao needs but we still don't know what's on it beyond Qian Jin's comment about "family secrets". In terms of Liu Xiao himself, he didn't get much airtime but what he did have he made count. He mentioned about wanting to make "uncertainties into certainties" and the idea that there are "parallel lines". This pretty much sets him up against Lu Guang in terms of aim and seems to suggest our understanding of time travel mechanics is about to get a serious update next season. Also, the new "paranormal section of the police force" seems incredibly pointed. I don't really want it to get a huge focus honestly but with the way the scope has widened each season I don't think I'll get my wish.

What S2E12 might mean for the “future” of Link Click
It’s been a long 10 weeks, and we’ve been thru 11episodes. Now that we’ve been blessed (or rather cursed?) with the PV of the last episode of Link Click II, I want to clarify a few things regarding what could happen later on in the plot, like in Link Click III or whatnot. So, let’s go!
• Qiao Ling’s (MORE improved) role
=>So, abt our ladyboss, Qiao Ling. In the first season, she didn’t have much of a role. The only notable thing I remember her doing is introducing new ppl to the series. Like, Xu Shanshan, Master Si Wen, etc etc. But this time in season 2, she has a bigger and more important role. She’s fighting side-by-side with CXS, helping in the investigations, being a great elder sister for Xixi, AND formulating plans too. However, the PV for the last episode gave us an even bigger reveal as to what will or might happen to her going on with Link Click III.
Tumblr media
Now that Xixi is dead (f**k Qian Jin), it seems that she has transferred her powers to Qiao Ling. Welp, people with these powers have always been the prime focus of the show, and now that Qiao Ling ALSO seems to have powers, there’s no doubt that her importance in the story will be much more from now on. I personally believe that in the event CXS actually ends up dying, she’ll be a key role to get LG to try again to save him. More on that later.
• Qian Jin
Tumblr media
=> What can I even say about this guy? I’ve hardly seen anyone so loathe worthy and despicable in anime history. But I’m not here to hate on this guy RN. What I’m here to talk about is his connection to the main characters, some hidden characters, and his motives.
Now, Episode 11 has clearly shown us his motive. He wants to use CXS to go to the past and stop his wife from her supposed betrayal. (I swear, dude’s just TOO hung up on his wife who he murdered HIMSELF!) . But what’s odd is that his motive is just too personal. What I mean by that is that, when the poster for Qian Jin dropped, his shadow was the supposedly infamous Hat Guy aka Liu Xiao. This tidbit made all of us think that he HAD to working with/for Liu Xiao, and thus, his motives shouldn’t be personal. But here we are, with his motive having NO connection to Hattie. So why was his poster designed like this anyway? Maybe Hattie was the guy who told him about CXS? But even so, that makes Hattie’s role too meh for the plot..
• Liu Xiao aka the Hat Guy (and more new characters?)
=> Even though it’s been 11 out of 12 episodes, we still know almost nothing about Liu Xiao except for the fact that he’s abroad. But despite being so ambiguous, all of us know the amount of significance this guy has over the events of Link Click. Or do we?
Let’s talk about that.
Tumblr media
Ever since the very first episode of Link Click, we know that the client who gave our main trio the Emma job wasn’t Emma herself, but rather someone anonymous. Thanks to @mimicha-arts ‘s post, we know that someone was keeping tabs on CXS, LG, and QL. Now, let’s say that it was Hattie. That would make a lot of sense, since he seems to be some kind of overseer of the events unfolding or some grandmaster himself (I’m saying that due to the fact that he’s being likened to be similar to Lu Guang).
But even if that’s the case, what could be his motive? Well, even I know shit about that. However, as I said in an earlier post, I believe that the big bad of the series isn’t Qian Jin, but Liu Xiao; and that he would have a showdown against Lu Guang. Maybe Liu Xiao was shown as the shadow to Qian Jin to show us how evil he could be? Cuz think of it like this: shadows are dark, right? So, if Qian Jin’s evil, doesn’t it make PERFECT sense if his shadow, LIU FRIKING XIAO, is MORE twisted and/or evil? Yeah…
So, we’re wrapped up with Hattie now. BUT, what if I told u there were MORE characters to be introduced?
Take a look..
Tumblr media
Now, there’s someone on the roof of that one building. I may be wrong in thinking that it’s a new character and could simply be Chen Bin, but part of me still wants to believe that it’s a new guy, probably with special powers too, (as for whether they’d be an ally or enemy, I’ll leave that part to you guys).
• The Contents of Liu Min’s phone
=> This topic has been a major question since the first episode of Link Click II, and hasn’t been answered still. Liu Min’s phone. What’s even in there that Qian Jin had to literally kill his own mentee to get that thing? What’s so important in that phone that even this far in ep11, it’s a major item for the villains? Is it related to Liu Xiao? Quede Games? Does LTch need it to go back in time?
As for the answers, all I can do is speculate. I think that, as Liu Xiao IS Liu Min’s brother, there has to be some info on him there. Then again, it might also be related to Emma and Quede? But whatever it is, it’s a very important material. If not explored in II, I believe it will be important for III.
• Lu Guang and alternate timelines
Tumblr media Tumblr media
=> And now, to the infamous “Lu Guang is a time traveler” theory. Well, we all have the general go-thru for This theory. In a given timeline, CXS dies, and to save him, LG keeps jumping thru time over and over again …
I believe I’ve already talked about how the alternate timelines theory is important for the plot of Link Click III. Here’s the post
• The meaning of “Can’t Live Without A Good Brother”?
Tumblr media
=> Episode 12’s title says the most ominous yet very emotional line: “Can’t Live Without A Good Brother.” Such a thought-provoking title, don’t y’all think?
Funnily (or ironically, I don’t even know at this point) enough, this sentence can be thought of by two perspectives. Y’all guessed it - Qiao Ling AND Tianxi’s. So let’s go over those and deduce whatever plot points we can find for Link Click III.
Li Tianxi’s POV: So, the photo that started it all, for our pink-haired twins features a line written in crayon by Xixi, which says, “I can’t live without my good brother.” Odd, no? How she calls her brother good despite knowing that he’s actively involved in killing a multitude of people? Well, this is Link Click we’re talking about; and this, there’s always a reason for everything. Let’s say that Tianchen really IS a good person, or at least he wants to be (from Xixi’s perspective ofc). Why wouldn’t he be? He cares about Xixi a lot, prioritizes her safety first, even his deal with Qian Jin exists so that he can ensure safety for his sister. He even said in episode 11 that doing all this killing business for Qian Jin was truly hell for him and he wanted to escape. Hmm.. know what this sounds like to me? A pinch of sister complex! Yup! Tianchen is a really good brother. And all he’s done and has Been doing is so that he can have a better life with his sister. The fact that Xixi wrote “I Can’t live Without My Good Brother” means that she doesn’t want to lose her brother to the forces of evil that include Qian Jin… and maybe, that one childhood friend of Tianchen’s? (Of course I’m talking about Liu Xiao, and there u go, I mapped out the possible Link Click III content from here and how , even tho dead, Xixi will be crucial to the plot of what I predict will be Lu Guang V Liu Xiao). In that case, we can conclude by saying that Li Tianchen actually is a quite tragic character (more on that on a separate post).
Qiao Ling’s POV: Now, I’m most excited to talk about her POV, since I believe her insight on “Can’t Live Without A Good Brother” stems from CXS’s death in S2 (which I think is guaranteed to happen). Over the course of these two seasons, we’ve seen and have come to love the dynamic between Qiao Ling & Cheng Xiaoshi. S2E8 even shows how much QL cares about CXS, as she always looks out for him not just as a friend, but as a sister as well. So, let’s all assume that CXS and LG lose the fight against Qian Jin, and at the end, CXS dies. Remember what I said about Qiao Ling inheriting Xixi’s power and how that can help play a role in Lu Guang’s attempt to change/reverse CXS’s death? Well, here we are. Given that CXS dies, we can all imagine how distraught QL and LG will be. It is then QL decides to use Xixi’s power to transfer CXS’s power to Lu Guang (that’s the most reasonable thing to do, as Lu Guang knows better about diving in the past than Qiao Ling), but in a worse case scenario, she uses it herself? Whichever the case, I believe this is the way the staff will answer how Lu Guang has been time traveling despite not having the power to do so, and also kick start the events of Link Click III.
The Overseas Trip
=> Another thing that has technically been confirmed by the director, Li Haoling himself? All of us know that the director has said that the overseas trip that CXS and LG went on during their university days will definitely come into play later on. So far, whatever hint of that we have is the ED, THE TIDES, where the duo go on and investigate (?) a house that looks identical to the house of the main character of the 2002 movie, The Time Machine; and a rough animation draft of CXS and LG in holiday clothing riding a car. I say that, the overseas trip is not just limited to the ED. Sure, the ED is definitely showing us something related to that, but considering that trip is how both CXS and LG (or just CXS since according to the alternate timelines theory, LG should already have his power) unlock their powers, it DEFINITELY will come into play in Link Click III.
• Emma?
Tumblr media
=> Very few characters in anime (or should I say donghua) always haunt the narrative of the story even after they’re dead. Such is really the case with Emma. Even though we see her die (yet again) in S1E11, she still appears on the S2 OP, VORTEX. BUT, she is literally NOWHERE in the main events of S2. Well, it would definitely make more sense to include characters who have more roles in S2 in the OP (Like Milady Wang Juan, Capt. Xiao Li, prolly also Xiao Ma?) rather than a character who seemingly has no role in the season, right? That is PRECISELY why the fact that Xiao Li doesn’t appear in the OP despite being so important but EMMA does, alludes to the fact that we’re not done with her arc yet. This means that, yep, Liu Xiao is linked here…
CONCLUSION:
Welp, there ain’t not conclusion, not yet. Not until there’s a confirmation AND a trailer for S3 and we get to see Liu Xiao face reveal.
Til then, I’ma go feral sitting on my toilet seat and thinking about S3….
