LinkedIn has changed significantly over these years. Earlier, LinkedIn was easy to use but now it has become so complicated with the ongoing years. Some of the issues are -    
 1. Too structured  
LinkedIn have lots of rules and regulations of its own that might not be on other social media platforms making it hard for the people to openly use LinkedIn marketing. This restricts it's users to use this platform the way they use other platforms.
2.  Not "Fun" like other Social Media Platforms    
Millennials tend to use social media to express their emotions, getting entertained and be amused by the content. They don't consider LinkedIn as being "fun" and it is not a platform that people can use it for their past time or free time. Millennials aren't "wowed" by LinkedIn, that's why there is less usage of LinkedIn by Millennials.

Articles are lengthier pieces of content (much like blog posts) that are published directly on LinkedIn’s publishing platform. They include a headline and multiple paragraphs of information and can be formatted using headings and bulleted lists. Articles are typically at least 300 words and could stand alone as blog posts.
Both will show up in your followers’ newsfeeds and are virtually identical as they scroll.

It depends on what your goals are for the piece of content.
