This is *somewhat* similar to the bracelet I posted about yesterday, except it's completely different. The Fahlo bracelet didn't come with any shark tracking information (because they messed up and sent me a dolphin instead, which is fine but a shark would have been better). Anyways, this bracelet I bought for myself!! It was bought in 2021 at a time when I was looking for something that I could preserve some of my mother's ashes inside of. I had no idea this was what I wanted until it popped up in my feed on Instagram one day, and I knew then that it was the perfect way ❤️.
-- It's call a Legend Bracelet! As you can see by the bracelet, and as you'll see described in the second photo, "One capsule is empty - fill it with sand / earth or something meaningful. The other capsule - comes filled with sand / earth from an area in the world we are helping to protect. A reminder to stay connected to the endangered places and species around the world."
In the case of my bracelet, a piece of ghost netting fills the other side. Ghost nets are responsible for countless shark fatalities. They get tangled in the nets and drown, because they are unable to move. Majority of sharks need to be constantly moving to keep water flowing over their gills.
"Crafted from eco & vegan friendly materials. Made from the bark of cork trees."
What you DON'T see described is this,
"The process helps extend the tree’s life expectancy and increases it's CO2 absorption."
AND
"Up to 50% of profits donated to charities fighting to protecting the environment & endangered species."
My specific bracelet helps to protect the sharks!🦈 Obviously, sharks are animals I'm pretty passionate about. Follow Your Legend has partnered with the Bimini Shark Lab to "help save sharks and protect our oceans"
The COOLEST part about my bracelet is that it came along with not only a sticker, BUT ALSO information about a Tiger Shark named Dani! (Ironically Tiger Sharks are my absolute favorite species of shark. So bonus points!) Through the card provided, (and the QR code on the back) I am able to access both information about Dani herself and tracking information about her whereabouts!🦈
*Unfortunately, with this being bought in 2021, her tracker has either fallen off or something terrible has happened 😔 because there have been no current further updates on her.*
Regardless though, as sad as that may be, I'm still super happy to have bought and contributed to the efforts of Legend Bracelet! There are numerous other bracelets that support different causes/animals and I'd encourage everyone to look into them!!🙌😁
i forgor to post when it happened but i DID take friendship bracelets to lec and irrelevant exakick and lars wore theirs on stage! Will look for pics! But that happened!
Just noticed something about Link’s Island Lobster Shirt accessories in TotK: he’s wearing a bracelet! But not just any bracelet!
It’s a traditional sailors braided bracelet!
It’s said that these bracelets are for good luck, but it’s also a popular fashion choice in the sailing community—especially aboard tall ships.
These bracelets are one continuous knot that is tied directly onto one’s wrist or object of choice (it’s often used on the helm to indicate the top “king spoke” when the rudder is centered, and on railings or other surfaces to help seize in place other decorative nautical “fancywork”).
After a very long day at Comic-con yesterday here's a few photos. I'm really happy with the way this came together. I 100% forgot Ravios' bracelet at home as it had somehow been shoved back on my husbands desk (I blame the cats) and it was too early in the morning when I was getting ready. Also, the black belt still sucked so I didn't wear it. For my first con it was great, totally going again. (Also fixed my shield after we got in as the strap broke, hence the weird way it's on my back). @jojo56830
The fam's final excursion was a private tour of the Oceanarium Discovery Center. There was also an outfit theme of the day which was fun and funky to celebrate learning about fish and frogs as well as Rebi learning the letter F. Of course the little boss was in a mood, and was very unhappy after being asked to remove her sunglasses. It was an "I'm only talking to Daddy" kinda day, while the rest of the squad explored and enjoyed all the aquarium had to offer.
