ill never not be disappointed with the ball python oversaturation of the reptile market that is currently happening.
going to an expo this weekend that has a total of 41 vendors. how many have ANY other species that arent BPs?
less than 7.
i have been telling my fiancee since we started dating that i want my next snake to be a hognose or another boa.
ONE vendor has hognoses. ZERO have boas of ANY kind (common, sand, or any tree boas).
i would LOVE to support a more specialized breeder who is showing love to a less popular species or who has efforts to start breeding lesser heard of species on the side even if its not something that i want! but i literally CANT "vote with my dollar" when there are no candidates to vote FOR.
i WANT to do it for myself and breed species im super passionate about and spread my love of them with everyone possible, but again, hard to do if those animals arent even obtainable lol.

Does anyone have any tips on fun ball python morphs that turn out really orange? Albino seems to be more yellow in that specie and I am curious about morphs that really pop.
(Don’t suggest bumblebee or other spider morphs please)

Merman Gojo with albino white hair, crystalline blue eyes that rival the ocean’s beauty, and a silver tail. These features make him easily recognizable by humans, known as the White Beast who relentlessly kills whoever enters his waters.
See, there are different kingdoms among the ocean, but Gojo is unofficially the leader of the rogue territories because he is both the most powerful and knowledgeable.
Gojo also swims at the speed of light! He has to be mindful of what or who is behind him so they don't get swept away from the sheer force of his tail's movements.
However, despite reaching maturity a long time ago, Gojo doesn't have a mate.
Though he does have a pod. Sort of. More like younglings he has taken in who insist on engaging in pod dynamics (grooming, hunting together, submitting to the highest rank, etc.) but Gojo has never considered himself a pod leader.
For as long as he can remember, he's always been alone.
Fuzzy images of hazel eyes and long black hair flash through his mind.

The main younglings consist of Megumi (royal blue tail), Yuji (salmon-colored tail), and Nobara (lavender tail).
Whenever Gojo - their “leader” - arrives, the trio will drop down to the seafloor on their stomachs, a common act of submission to the higher rank. Gojo just laughs and pats their heads, signaling that they can get up and begin nuzzling him.
Pods usually sleep in a huge cuddle pile. Gojo has a huge bed of seagrass that's big enough for everyone. Yuji and Nobara are the noisiest when they prepare to sleep, chirruping as they find the perfect positions to doze off.
Background-wise, Megumi is a prince from a kingdom that fell down to mutiny. He has a heightened sense that connects him to the ocean and sea creatures because of it.
Yuji used to be in a pod with his brothers before a violent storm and turning of tides separated them. His goal is to reunite with them someday. He's the newest podmate, having joined a little over a year ago.
Nobara came from a pod that remains hidden in the deepest part of the oceans. She left home to explore the sea and other aquatic life, and has had quite a few encounters with humans herself by getting too close to the surface. By being in the rogue territories, Nobara has the freedom to explore while also having a home and podmates to return to.

When gossip spreads that there are merpeople searching for the lost prince of the fallen eastern kingdom, Gojo quickly decides to send Megumi into hiding. Though the pursuers claim to want to restore the lost prince to his rightful throne, Gojo knows these mercenaries just want to kill Megumi and gain the favor of the sea for themselves.
So he asks Megumi if he trusts Gojo.
Megumi looks off to the side before muttering "Of course."
In order not to endanger their current home, Gojo plans to take Megumi to the one place he knows is absolutely safe, to someone who will look after Megumi after his own. Gojo tells the others that he's taking Megumi on a trip and orders Yuuta to keep the others safe.
Of course, not even an hour into their journey, Gojo notices two certain somebodies sneakily trailing them.
Gojo immediately stops swimming, causing Megumi to stop right next to him. The youngling looks up at Gojo questioningly, then follows his gaze to their other two podmates attempting to hide among shallow seagrass.
"You two shouldn't be here," Gojo says, using two powerful swishes of his tail to arrive at the two resigned younglings.
"Like hell we shouldn't," Nobara mutters while Yuji says, "You and Fushiguro are leaving us behind..."
"You two...Megumi-kun is being tracked down right now. I am taking him somewhere safe so everyone at home will be safe as well," Gojo explains patiently yet bluntly. "Furthermore, I can't protect all of you at onc-!”
In a flash, Nobara and Yuji shoot up and latch onto Megumi, making small distressed whines as they entangle their tails together. Megumi groans, but loops his arms around his podmates.
"Idiots. You need to listen to Gojo-san. I'm not leaving forever, just long enough to throw them off my tail. Oh my god- guys, come on-" Megumi softly purrs as Yuji and Nobara cling even tighter, rubbing their faces into Megumi's shoulders. "Listen you two, you can't come with us. You need to stay home with everybody, where it's safe. If something ever happened to you two, I- I wouldn't be able to live with myself."
Gojo watches the three of them embrace and feels some tugs on his heart strings. These younglings really are attached at the hip. He can’t say he didn’t expect this.
With no more time to waste, Gojo swims forward and engulfs the three younglings in his arms, then wags his tail to propel them forward.
“All right, come on, kids. If we maintain a good pace, we’ll get there in two day’s time. Then we’ll all be safe and together.”
The two stowaway younglings give a shout of joy, then detach from Megumi to swim on their own. All three of them have to give their best to keep up with their leader, after all. Gojo mentally sends his regards to the person who will unexpectedly have four merpeople show up on their beach.
Two days later, they make it to a beach front where a small cottage lies, secluded.
Gojo beckons his younglings onto the sand. They flop around uncoordinatedly.
Nobara tries wiping off the sand that sticks to her skin, hating the sensation of it, but it’s no use.
Megumi struggles a bit but uses his arms to pull him across the sand.
Yuji is still out of breath from swimming long-distance. He’s never been above the ocean surface either. The air feels too cold and too thick. He subconsciously sticks close to Gojo, who hesitates at the water’s edge.
With a heavy sigh, Gojo lugs himself out of the water. He follows the first two younglings, occasionally nuzzling Yuji’s neck to comfort him.
When he begins to dry up, sand collecting on his skin, Gojo starts to feel sharp tingles in his tail.
Before he can stop it, a high-pitched whistle escapes his lips. It echoes in the night, moonlight spilling onto their slow-moving forms.
All three younglings freeze on spot, whipping their gazes to their leader who had just released a mating call.
There’s no response, and that pinches at Gojo’s chest.
“Gojo-san, are you okay?” Yuji asks with wide eyes. He buries himself against Gojo’s side while the others make their way towards their leader.
Gojo answers with a low rumble. Then, against his better judgment, he calls again.
This time, a soft voice answers his call.
“Gojo-San, what’s happening!?” Nobara asks while Megumi stares at where Gojo’s tail once was, now replaced by a pair of long legs.
“It’s okay, everything's gonna be okay” Gojo tries explaining. Megumi has joined Nobara in her babbling when Yuji suddenly lets out a hostile growl that seems to shake the ground.
His eyes are trained on the silhouette that has exited the cottage and now jogs over to the vulnerable mers.
“Protect Gojo-San!” Yuji says, wrapping his arms around Gojo. The other two follow suit, creating a protective barrier around their leader.
They have no idea why Gojo brought them here, why he just let out a mating call when to their knowledge he’s always been alone. Now, a human has spotted them and is fast approaching.
Being on land makes them easy targets, but none of them will go down without a fight. They will defend their pod together.
The human is tall, wearing layers of clothing to combat the cool air. His long black hair falls down his shoulders like a river, dark eyes shifting from Gojo to the three younglings in tow.
Gojo weakly tucks his legs under him, and hugs his younglings close. There’s a pleading look in his eyes.
Under the moonlight, the human’s eyes soften. He opens his mouth, speaking perfect mer language.
“Satoru.”

What other “special” line of Eevee are there?
I'll try not to list too many! There's many more than the below. Each eeveelution has MANY different lines.
Vaporeon:
Royal - Notably a deep, royal blue color. Their face fins don't have the ribbing structure holding them up, so it drapes next to their face instead. 7/10. Doesn't really lower their quality of life, but their face fins are a lot more delicate and easy to tear. Fine if pet-only, but not battling.
Lotus - Often more green in color, but not exclusively. Their key feature is with their tail fins, splitting and overlapping. 4/10. Makes swimming harder.
Flareon:
Charcoal - black flareon! Unlike shinies, albinism and melanism can be bred for. 8/10. Just a good ol flareon with dark fur. Score would be higher, but there's some issues with in-breeding, which isn't as bad of a problem anymore thank god.
Oh My Fluff - yes that's the actual name. They're bred to have more brown fur and are EXTREMELY fluffy, looking more like an eevee. 2/10. Their fur is HELL to manage and while flareon are fluffy, the fur on the their torso is typically short and not long. This messes up their heat regulation. Susceptible to heat stroke. How do you mess up so bad that FIRE TYPE can get a heat stroke???
Jolteon:
False shiny - bred to have that greenish color of a shiny. Not an actual shiny tho. Fairly easy to breed due to color variation and p harmless tbh. 9/10. I kinda don't care if they scam people lmao. Quality of life doesn't suffer genetically.
Elegance-Style - distinctive trait has their usually spikey fur draping down instead. 10/10. Looks goofy, but a p harmless line. This line is weaker fighting wise tho.
Jolteon in general actually has p okay lines.
Since I'm NOT AT ALL being brief, more below the cut for the other eeveelutions.
Espeon:
Lavender-Point - you may see this trait on other Pokémon, but the "point" gene gives Pokémon darker fur on their face, ears, paws and tail(s). This line has darker purple at those points. 10/10, entirely harmless. Looks cool. This gene shows on eevee! Although at that point it's a darker brown or black, not lavender.
Twin Tail - has a fully split tail! While typically harmless, I've heard of breeders splitting the tail a birth if it doesn't have a perfectly split tail :( 5/10
Snow - an albino espeon! Contrary to popular belief, not all albinos have red eyes. This line is noted for having white fur and blue eyes. 3/10 because this line often ends up with bad hearing issues and are very sensitive to the light... which isn't good for an espeon.
I've honestly got SO many more on espeon.
Umbreon:
Moonlight - selectively bred to have have very pale, nearly white yellow rings. Very pretty. 9/10. Linked to odd lethargy? But they're just a little more lazy and sleepy.
Starlight - another albino! Pure white fur, purple-blue eyes. Rings are tactile visible but are also white and not very noticeable unless it's dark. 5/10. EXTREMELY sensitive to the sun. Tends to have eyesight and hearing issues.
Halloween - their rings are more orange than the per usual yellow, more noticeable canine fangs. Bad history with being used in illegal, to-death fights. Wildly believed to be more aggressive, but this is false. 8/10, bad history, but not a bad Pokémon.
Umbreon and espeon face less issues than sylveon. The feelings involved to evolve are a LOT less strong than the ones needed for a sylveon. Emotional manipulation tactics aren't typically used on them. They're usually just treated well.
Leafeon (has the least amount of lines):
Bright Eyes - blue or green eyes! Not... really much else to them. 7/10 for eye sight problems.
Spring time - hybrid line! Often crossbred with other grass types, specifically flowery ones, to get leafeon with flowers. 9/10, doesn't typically cause issues.
Glaceon:
Princess - noted for paler, bluer coloration (similar to a shiny). The ribbons on the side of their head swirl in a curl like pattern. 4/10. They tend to have pretty bad joint issues, especially when they get older.
Snow - surprisingly, not an albino! White fur, very pale baby blues where they should have darker markings. 9./10, very pretty. Sensitive to sunlight.
Both leafeon and glaceon have false shiny lines.
Sylveon:
Flower - their bow is feathered into a several splits, forming a full circle that looks kinda like a flower. Their coloration tends to lean more peachy.
Butterfly - two sectioned bow that looks like a butterfly wing. They lean more purple in coloration.
No rating. The lines themselves don't have genetic issues, but the trauma they're put through is 100% not worth it. There's very, VERY few breeders that do this ethically. I do not trust a SINGLE sylveon breed line except for albinism and melanism since those are popular for ALL eeveelutions and don't require strict sylveon/sylveon breeding.
I could honestly talk about these breed lines all day. I see them a LOT at the daycare.

wof scale color headcanons fuck canon yeahhh
All tribes under the cut if I did it right
NightWings - any hue as long as it's dark. NightWings consider darker scales to be prettier and pitch-black is seen as mysterious and aristocratic. The "silver" scales on the wings and trailing down the neck etc can be pastel colors or even iridescent. Some NightWings with distant SeaWing blood have glowing silver scales. Prophets also have a "third eye" silver scale, similar to mind reader's teardrops. Their scales have near invisible markings like panthers and black cats, such as stripes and rosettes. They also rust in the daylight like cats do!
SandWings can be a much wider range of sandy colors, from white to tan to yellow to brown to oranges and pinks even, orangey reds and some blacks. They tend to have patterns that are fractal-like or repeating rather than random splotches and such. The keratin on their stinger is the same color as their claws and horns. SandWings with more symmetrical patterns are considered prettier.
LeafWings typically come in greens, but also browns, golds, yellows, oranges, reds, and sometimes blues and even the rare purple. Like albino plants, albino LeafWings struggle to get nutrients as they can't produce chloroform, so if they don't have strong enough leafspeak they die pretty young. Summer born LeafWings have richer, more vibrant hues, autumnal ones are brighter and often have gold patches or patterns, winter makes scales cooler toned and duller colored, and spring makes lighter and shinier scales. LeafWings have a beauty standard of larger, healthier scales, regardless of color.
IceWings can be any off-white or silvery color, with slight darker markings and some vibrant cooler tones. Their scales have a natural shine, and lighter, even opalescent scales are the beauty standard. Commoners have brown and grey scales sometimes but these are definitely considered a mark of the poor. Another strived for marking is striations of any kind, especially those that are warm-toned or opalescent.
MudWings can be any brown, from deep red to planty green, light to dark and dull to vibrant. Potentially from proximity to SeaWings and distant blood, some MudWings have a "rusted" look of having warm base colors and markings fading to greens and blues. MudWings are the most common to be albino, leustic, piebald, or melanistic. Albino MudWings are white and pink, while leustics are white and yellowy- orange. They can also be shades of grey and occassionally black, and beauty standard is defined by the amount and appeal of the gold scales found on all MudWings.
SkyWings can be any warm color, typically red to orange, but also vibrant pink and magenta, rarely yellow, and even more rarely purple, usually only seen in the royal family. Brighter scales indicate more time outside and health, and though they can't be shiny or iridescent they love inlaying gems to create that effect. Blue scales are rumored to be a telltale sign of firescales, and though all firescales have blue scales, not all blue is firescales. Beauty standard prefers richer, darker colors, and watery or lighter shades are seen as weaker.
SeaWings can be So Many Colors. You usually find the blues and greens and sometimes pink and purples but the reef dwellers come in all the warmer colors. Interestingly, white and black markings are sparse and never the full dragon unless albino or melanistic. Piebald often results in pink or lavender marking, or even light cyan, and leustic SeaWings are known to be light blues and pinks. Vibrant, dark scales are preferred, and swirls are associated with power and royalty.
HiveWings all have some black scales, whether just a handful or nearly jet-black. Contrary to popular belief, Clearsight is not the sole reason for black scales; an interesting trait that started showing up after she arrived was pseudomelanism, a dominant trait causing all HiveWings to have black markings. Interestingly, albinism and leustism do not erase black scales, but albinism does soften them. Otherwise, HiveWings are typically warm toned, the general populace being yellow, orange and brown, red being an appealing color, and dark green being the rarest and most attractive. They can also being lighter tans and faded pinks, but the colors are looked down on.
SilkWings can be any color, and barring melanism, except black. Their patterns can change over their lifetime, gradually becoming more complex, vibrant, and appealing with age. All SilkWings are metallic or iridescent to some degree, except on the wing membrane. The wing membrane is either scaled and colorful (moth and butterfly) or translucent and shimmering (dragonfly). Circular, ring, or banded patterns are considered prettier and almost royal.
RainWings come in every color under the sun, yet never have shiny, iridescent, opalescent, or metallic scales. Individuals are recognized by resting patterns on theit scales such as circles, zigzags, splotches, or freckles than reflect secondary emotions or designs. Although they can replicate another's pattern quite accurately, the pattern they are born with lasts until death. In more competitive and regal places, RainWings are purple, pink, and yellow, and see showing emotion as weak.

I’ve always kind of thought that solely black cats are kind of… plain?? Even if they’ve got the descriptors of the one white paw + the ice blue eyes, it’s still kind of boring. SO!! Lykoi Scourge for the win!!!

Amongst many Scourge designs, I see a bunch of alternate decorations for the guy and I’m obsessed with that, so!! Scourge gets a harness, plus little bracelets that formerly belonged to his victims; I like to think that it takes the teeth and claws of their victims and studs them through the stolen collars.
I personally hate that the Erins put dog teeth as BloodClan’s weapons; it would be much more effective if it had been glass, or even talons, or heck even discarded Twoleg blades! But I wanted to keep some semblance of canon’s design, so the teeth at Scourge’s claws are dog’s T^T
The eyes were inspired by @fridaystar’s design, with most of the accessories being inspired by @scourge-sympathiser’s design!
