Hello Tumblr followers, I have lots of news for you this month!

First up, a picture of my booth from Friend Fest 2023!

I had so much fun vending and it was a joy to meet those of you who stopped by, I truly appreciate your support and I hope to see you again at future events!

Now for news on the March Etsy shop update. Lots of new items are available, including new prints, stickers, and keychains; as well as the return of greeting cards.

This month's vault pins are the Cat Angel pins and Shrimpin' Cat; and the monthly seconds pins are some familiar faces, Guard and Emperor back by popular demand.

As the new arrives, we must say goodbye to the old. Sadly I have run out of storage space so it's time for some items to depart. You'll notice many listings now have "Departing Soon!" in their titles, and a deadline has been added to their descriptions. Any items marked as such will be removed from the shop April 2 2023. That is your last day to purchase them, so if you've been waiting to buy, it's best to purchase now. To help sweeten the deal, most of these items will be on sale until April 2 as well.

A few of these items may return if space frees up, but no guarantees. I will be giving most of them to my stockists or selling them wholesale, so they may be gone forever from my Etsy shop. For those of you who are new, my stockists are other retailers who sell my items on consignment. You can find them here. My older designs and merch from other creators are available through my stockists so I definitely recommend checking them out.

Speaking of my stockists, I'm happy to share that my Mushroomy storefront is now open! They're based in Melbourne, Australia - so if you're in the land down under, you can purchase from them and save on shipping.

Finally, some news on Kickstarter campaigns. Cowboys of the Apocalypse is on hold for now, so in the meantime I'll be running Eldritch Saints, a smaller pin campaign featuring designs inspired by eldritch and saintly imagery. You can follow the pre-launch page here, and keep an eye on my social media for previews of the designs.

tickets are on sale at mitski.com for all dates except tokyo. the ticket sales for tokyo open at 9am japan standard time, wednesday 30th august 2023.

now that the urgent stuff is out of the way here is more information: - the album will be played from start to finish in a dark theatre - 1 film of mitski's choice will play at the end of each screening, except in tokyo. the film that will be screened at each venue have already been determined, check mitski.com to see which film plays where. (the 4 films mitski has chosen are days of heaven (1978), desert hearts (1986), drugstore cowboy (1989) and la strada (1954)) - limited edition posters to commemorate the listening party will be given out at all screenings - this is not a concert and mitski will not be present at any of the screenings

The best things in life are free. This release is neither. I'm charging money for it, although ultimately I don't really care if you obtained it without paying for it. Ideally I'd like to make money from it, but please don't let that stop you from redistributing it freely. Money makes the world go round. Time is money. My time is precious. I've spent a lot of time dreaming up "get-rich-quick" schemes but I'm yet to reach the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. It's a constant battle. I'm frequently in the red, frequently behind. Frequently playing catch-up. It's a dog-eat-dog world. Caught in a vicious cycle. It's the circle of life. Like the rat in the wheel, like a slave to the wage. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em? How depressing is that!? Damn the man. Be yr own boss. Help this sell-out grow a nest egg - buy into this cash grab.

Notes on this release:

* I have multiple up coming releases in the piplien that were actually created before this one:

(a) 10 perplexingly dark TSB songs about auspol/celebrity chefs/rubbish on the side of the freeway etc recorded for a split release with a prolific egg-punk superstar,

(b) a progressively quickening 14-track psychedelic concept album featuring loads of bonkers hardware freakouts and zeo vocal pop songs

(c) pretty much all of the Adrian Alien Angel Band LP "69 Punk Songs" (project commenced 30 April 2014)

Those releases are destined for physical media! Releasing physical media requires time and money. This first release of "Music For Money" is unfortunately digital-only so that it can get OUT THERE as fast as possible!

* You can make money from this music too! If you run a record label and are interested in paying for and organizing the manufacture/distribution/sale/etc of a physical "Music For Money" release then please do reach out. I would love for this to happen.

* Mixed and masted using headphones only due to the fact that I blew my studio monitors DJing my friend's house party and couldn't afford the cost of repairs.

* After Deciding to title this release "Music for Money" I stupidly Googled the phrase and discovered that it is also the title of a really fun Ice MC single from 1996. Ice MC were responsible for one of the best songs on the Trainspotting soundtrack so I'm cool with it.

* After writing "Oppenheimer's Burden" I stupidly Googled the phrase and discovered that an artist named Dustin James had already released a song with this title in 2020. I decided to keep my title despite the fact that somebody else technically got there first.

*_ I am aware that The House That Jack Built is a film by Lars von Trier but I am yet to see it and it was not an influence on my song whatesover.

*_ Yes, I am aware of fact that the lyrics to "Yr My Shop" are utterly repugnant - I hope it's clear that just because I'm illustrating an attitude it doesn't mean that I'm explicitly endorsing it or necessarily hold it.

Las Vegas race date leaked indicating race start times outside USA | 2023 F1 season

The date of the Las Vegas Grand Prix, one of multiple new rounds being added to the 2023 Formula 1 calendar, has been revealed in a letter leaked on social media. The race, which will be the first grand prix to take place on a Saturday since 1985, will be held on November 18th. It is expected to form a double-header with next year’s season finale at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi, which will take place the weekend after. F1’s third race in the USA was announced in March. At the time the series indicated it would take place in November next year. The leaked letter to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority shows the event will be held after the mid-November change in daylight savings hours in the region. With the race due to take place at 10pm local time on Saturday night, it will therefore start at 6am on Sunday for viewers in the UK and 5pm for those in Melbourne, Australia. A five-year deal has been agreed for the race, keeping it on the F1 calendar until at least 2027. Report: First look at F1’s new Las Vegas street circuit F1 is purchasing a plot of land for its pit and paddock facility. Last week Liberty Media CEO Greg Maffei said the series intends to have “ongoing activations and events” at the site “even when the race is not underway”. “The main paddock building, which is estimated to be 900 feet long, the length of three football fields will be exciting, and we’re actively working with potential commercial partners to expand our opportunities there,” Maffei explained. “We are building out the F1 team in Vegas across sales, marketing, race operations, and more. We are leveraging local expertise and talent as well, including the LVCVA and our partners at Live Nation.” He added F1 is “still working through the specifics on capacity” around the 6.1-kilometre, 14-turn street track, which will incorporate a section of the famous Las Vegas Strip.
