normally, liam wouldn't be okay with just killing someone. yet, he had to admit that there was something off-putting about the man before him. he had no idea why. probably the smile on his face as he talked about people dying. a sigh fell from his lips as he glanced down at the ground. "unfortunately for you, you're going to be one of them." he acted quickly, stabbing the other in the side of the neck with his hidden dagger. he didn't immediately withdraw the blade, instead he added more pressure, dragging it through until he'd reached the other side of his neck. only once his throat was completely split open did he take it out, lestat's blood gushing from the wound.

"hopefully many more." it was no secret lestat was kind of in to this whole thing, as evidenced by the wide grin that had pulled itself on to his lips.

"you look familiar." yizhen's brows drew down slightly as he looked at the other, trying to rack his brain. "oh, right, the eclipse! i talked to you when that was happening."

kate drew in a deep and steadying breath as she nodded her head. that made her feel a little better, knowing that the other was going to be with her. "even when i didn't remember anyone or anything, i knew you were important and someone that i could trust. i don't know if it happened then or if the feelings were just always there, but i really started to like you. my feelings for you started to go beyond friendship so maybe you'll be able to get me to fall for you again."

the news makes america's heart sink in their chest. kate, faced with the same choice had made the selfless decision to sacrifice themselves. while meri had been selfish, had taken a life for no reason. what kind of hero would do that? their eyes filled with tears as they shook their head. "it's okay. we did it before, we can survive it again. and you won't be alone. i'll stay with you if it happens."

gu mang nodded his head, glancing around. "okay, i think there was this abandoned shop not too far from here that we could try to stay in for a little while before i can help you get back to your home."

"any chance you know the safest way out?" cleo frowned, just wanting to go home, or somewhere safe to hide. "or the safest place to hide."

hearing the other's voice, he glanced up and felt immediate relief flood through his body. he stood and rushed over, throwing his arms around mo xi as he completely ignoring everything else. "of course i was waiting for you." gu mang drew in a deep breath, only allowing himself a few more seconds before he pulled away from the hug. "i'm sorry, i just.. i had to make sure that you were okay. i could've called or something, i know. i had to see you with my own eyes though. otherwise i never would've believed it."

Mo Xi had avoided too much attention on the streets, wanting to come home as quickly as he could, wanting to get out of the chaotic area where his new job is located. He's barely worked at the business a week, and now this madness hasn't endeared him to the place; though he's not sure it's the kid of job he's cut out for, anyway. But when he returns to the apartment building, he finds an unexpected sight: Gu Mang sitting outside of his door. "...You were waiting for me?" His plan had been to drop his things off inside and then go find Gu Mang, so the fact that he's already here simplifies matters significantly.

phoebe wrapped her arms around his neck, the corners of her lips turned upward. despite all the strange stuff happening outside, she was happy to be there with coop. it was the safest place to her. though there was a huge part of her that was worried about their family. "i love you too." she whispered, the smile on her face growing at his touch. "we could stay here for a little while. i think we deserve to be a little selfish after everything. we also just got each other back, i don't want to risk you if we go out there. i need a few moments of knowing that we're both safe."

Coop hold his wife in his arms as they enjoy a moment of peace. No matter what was ahead of them, he wanted to take every moment he could to appreciate her. "I love you." The cupid says before he softly strokes her cheek with his thumb. "I know we need to go back out and help who we can. But part of me just wants to gather the whole family to bunker down here together." He knew it was selfish, but it killed him to think about losing any of them, not again. @lavendaers

"no, i don't." pamela shook her head, a chuckle falling from her lips. "i'm just fairly confident that i'll survive this without a single scratch on me." she admitted with a shrug of her shoulders. "i'm sure you're not the only one feeling that way though."

"i mean.. do you? cause that's a shit way to live if that's the case." vesta raised an eyebrow, a scoff following the comment. "come on man-- i mean, maybe but that's so not reassuring right now. i honestly think i'm going crazy and i've got a target on my back, don't you?" was this really a them problem only?

"you say buzzkill while i say wary of strangers." klaus shook his head, glancing away from the other. he didn't miss the fact that she dropped into the chair next to him, he was just choosing to ignore it until she started talking again. "i could do all of that or i could think about your death. should i snap your neck or drink all of your blood until you're dead?"

Shannon tutted, rolling her eyes although she didn’t seem too upset. “Buzzkill,” she accused. “Of course you’re British." She dropped into the chair beside him, clearly not picking up on hints to leave him alone. "So what's your plan, then? Sit there, order some bland British food, think about death?”

sophie sighed as she glanced over at the other, "i'm fine. i've just kind of accepted that i won't make it through this." she admitted with a shrug of her shoulders.

"Whatcha an awful idea to get out of house of the house today" Ally said with a sigh. "I'mma think we're safe at the bakery. Did ya get hurt?".

yushi huang shrugged her shoulders, uncurling her fists to let her hands rest at her sides. "i wouldn't say i woke up on the wrong side of the bed. if i had then you would be dead." she drew in a deep breath, arms crossing over her chest. "people are killing each other right now so you can't be too safe."

.｡.:*☆ Finnick had no idea what was going on, but something had triggered his instinct. That was most likely why nothing worse had happened. Still, the punch did hurt.

"What the... did someone wake up on the wrong side of the bed thins morning?" He frowned and looked around, watching the person who'd just attacked him quickly running away.

xue yang laughed as stood up, taking a couple steps away from the other, "i'm perfectly fine." he shrugged his shoulders, raising a sword that he'd found. "though if you take one step closer to me, i will kill you."

Tadashi had always put others safety before his own. It was just how he was. So he was out, trying to help as many people as he could get to safety. He had just left to try and find others to help when he ran into someone, knocking them both over. "I'm so sorry. Are you okay?" He stands up, trying to help the other up as well.

"i might die." kate whispered, eyes filling up with tears. "i can't kill them, even if it means that i won't survive. i can't kill anyone. i thought... i thought about it, for a brief moment because i didn't want to do anything that cost me you. maybe i'm wrong. maybe i'll get lucky and survive, but i needed you to know just in case."

america was filled with relief when seeing their best friend. grateful they hadn't been hurt by anyone in the city. "kate." she cursed under her breath, going to meet them. "what is it?" their eyes laced with concern. "what's going on?"

"get drunk and party?" ruhn suggested with a slight raise of his brows. "that's what i want to do. get drunk enough to pretend like nothing is happening and maybe forget there's a person out there that might want me dead."

as soon as kate saw her best friend, she stopped and drew in a deep breath. she'd been looking for america and now that she'd actually found her, she didn't know what to do. she knew she had to tell them though so they weren't surprised. she moved forward, offering them a small smile. "meri." she greeted her. "i, uh, i have to tell you something."

meredith glanced over at the other, her brows raising. "just because you don't want to hurt me, doesn't mean you won't. i didn't want to hurt anyone and yet i did because i wanted to survive more." she admitted, shaking her head as she stepped back. "as long as you stay away from me, i can stick around for a minute."

Alice was on her guard, sword out in front of her. Her eyes widened when she saw someone else in the hallway. "Wait," she said quickly. After a moment's hesitation, she put her sword back in its sheath to demonstrate she wasn't a threat. “I don’t want to hurt you. I just.." She was tired, the bruises on her face were starting to throb, and it was sinking in that she was quite likely going to die soon. She looked down, then quietly admitted, "Don’t think I want to be alone right now."

willow took a step away from the other person, shaking her head as she raised her hands. "look, i'm just trying to go home. i have no reason to stay out here anymore since i did what i had to do. i'm no threat to you so you don't need to use anything on me. just let me go home."
