Second-Chance Bracket: Poll 12
Propaganda under the cut
Pairing 1: Sightshipping(Isis Ishtar/Maxamillion Pegasus|Pegasus J Crawford)
Propaganda: Theyre both adults who wield mystical items that kinda fucked them up a bit(a lot). I also like seeing how these two clash & compliment each other.
Pairing 2: Toughshipping(Bandit Keith/ Joey Wheeler |Jounouchi Katsuya)
Propaganda: Two mouthy blondes with potential for hate sex. I like that they can both give as good as it gets. But they are both stubborn but sensitive types. I think their personalities could.compliment well.
Now, let’s keep things civil. This is a silly poll where we can share why we love our overlooked ships. There’s no need to be nasty to prove your point. Bashers will be banished to the Shadow Realm.

Hi. for the love of god hello. I loveee this series of panels. It's so intense and so good with it's framing. You can tell Jounouchi has fought guys like Keith many many times, and that Keith hasn't had to deal with something like this once. Keith is physically taller and has more muscle, but Jou is fast and experienced. He knows how to bite dogs bigger than him.
[ID: a series of panels from the yugioh manga during the duelist kingdom arc. After fighting in the hallway, Jounouchi looms over Bandit Keith, who is crumpled on the floor and holding his nose. Jounouchi, angry, says "Hey, Keith. You may be pretty good at cards... but when it comes to fighting, I'm pretty good too." Keith looks up, furious, and holds his nose still, now gushing blood. End ID]

What if Yu-Gi-Oh! was a Pokémon game?
The story would play out like this: Gym leaders are mainly characters from Duelist Kingdom, but the world-threatening plot would play out like Battle City (what with Marik and the Rare Hunters), and the postgame would play out like Memory World. The DDM, Legendary Heroes, Virtual World, and KC World Tournament arcs would be optional sidequests in the postgame after Memory World, which could be done in any order. You can’t back out of the Virtual World sidequest once you’ve started it, however, for obvious reasons. Some of Kaiba’s reactions in the Legendary Heroes miniarc would vary depending on whether you completed the Virtual World sidequest or not. (Doma doesn’t exist. What are you talking about? The anime only had four seasons! What is this “Orichalcos” BS you speak of?) In all seriousness, though, I wouldn’t know how to fit it in without interrupting the plot. Or make it optional in a way that makes sense. Or how to rewrite it to be actually good.
Characters below the cut.
-Yugi/Atem: Male protagonist, for obvious reasons. (Maybe not since he doesn’t wear a hat like all the other Pokemon protagonists do. In his defense all that freaking hair would interfere in the process known as wearing a hat)
-Anzu: Female protagonist, as the most-frequently recurring female character. It helps that she and Yugi live in the same general area, so swapping their roles in the story wouldn’t be difficult. (Still no hat, though. But she has no excuse)
-Kaiba: The rival, obviously. More specifically, the jerk-rival type more often found in the older games. For obvious reasons, he would pick the starter that has the type advantage over the player’s. He would become the champion before the player (like Blue in Pokemon Red and Blue), and you would have to defeat him to become the champion. (He’s the rival, so he never gets a hat. Despite his hair being normal enough for one)
-Jounouchi: Less obviously, another rival, specifically the friendly-rival type more often found in newer games. There have been Pokémon games that have had multiple rival characters, so this can work. He would have the starter that is at a type disadvantage against the player, given that there are only three starters and, as I said before, Kaiba picks the one with the type advantage. It helps that he wouldn’t feel as much of a need to one-up Yugi.
-Haga: Bug-type gym leader, for obvious reasons.
-Ryuzaki: Rock-type gym leader, because dinosaurs are his shtick and most dinosaur-based Pokémon are Rock-types.
-Kajiki: Water-type gym leader, obviously. Lots of Water-element monsters. What did you expect.
-Meikyu Brothers: Normal-type gym leaders, for less-obvious reasons. Their strategy in dueling is to summon the Gate Guardian, which requires the tribute Santa of the Thunder, Kazejin, and Suijin, which are Thunder-type, Wind-attribute, and Water-attribute respectively. This would translate to Electric-, Flying-, and Water-types in Pokémon. Some Normal-types have electric or water attacks, Normal/Flying types exist, and Helioptile and Heliolisk are Electric/Normal, so that could fit. The Normal-type gym would be a Double Battle, which actually happens in Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald, so it wouldn’t be the only time that’s happened.
-Mai: Flying-type gym leader, what with her Harpy Ladies having wings and being established as being able to fly. The Wind-attribute of them helps.
-Pegasus: Psychic-type gym leader, for obvious reasons. His team, however, would have extremely diverse movesets in terms of types, which, combined with his mind-reading ability, make him a devastating opponent.
-Bandit Keith: Would seem to be the major evil team leader, but his group is overshadowed by the Rare Hunters. He would have Steel-type Pokémon, as the closest analogue to Machine monsters.
-Kotsuzuka: Ghost-types, as the closest to Zombie monsters.
-Malik: Would be the actual major evil team leader. He would have an extremely diverse team when you fight him in person, as opposed to through people he’s brainwashed. His main strategy would probably revolve around moves that damage his opponent’s Pokémon while healing his own simultaneously.
-Rishid: Would have a strategy mainly revolving around the use of items held by his Pokémon. He would also make heavy use of Counter and Mirror Coat.
-Ishizu: Would have a Psychic/Fairy team (Psychic for obvious reasons, Fairy because her deck was fairy monsters). Would use Future Sight (attacks opponent’s Pokémon two turns after the attack is selected) quite a bit, although would also use plenty of other attacks.
-Yami Bakura: Would be a minor antagonist in the main game but become the main antagonist in the postgame.
-Ryuji Otogi: The equivalent of the DDM arc features Rotation Battles. Why? Because they are more complex than Double or Triple Battles, and take some getting used to. (No, I am certainly not saying this because they gave me trouble! Noo...)
If you have any ideas for the remaining Gym Leaders or the Elite Four, let me know!
