for some reason in my mind it makes senses that randy’s family is italian-american and from somewhere like Boston, Chicago or New York? idk why i heard that randy was raised Catholic and immediately thought of that. i just have this scenario in my mind where randy goes home for a visit after YEARS of avoiding, and him mom greets him at the door saying things like “OHH thank baby jesus my little sweethearts home! god randle have you been eating well??? you look like you’ve been wasting away” in a Boston accent.

oliver has been journaling literally EVERYTHING in his life since he like 11 when he started going though his edgy phase and convinced himself he could publish it like as a book one day when he was famous. olive would NEVER let anyone actually read the journals, but he does think they’re funny to read over again bc of how dramatic everything was to him when he wrote it.

karen just really fucking loves pretzels. any kind of them. she always has like 5 kinds of pretzels in her kitchen cabinets and keeps the little packs of them in her bag. if she goes somewhere like a mall or a place that offers snacks in any capacity she will ALWAYS ask for pretzels.

gingi’s got a cough syrup guy. no one knows who they are. no one can find them except gingi. if someone asks gingi about it, they just avoid the question as well as they can like they can’t tell you bc someone is monitoring them at all times to make sure they don’t let it slip.

OCT 1

Damon Salvatore gains his vampire abilities back. He decides to go the route of blood bags in solidarity but ultimately enjoys his sudden invincibility.

Edward Cullen gains his vampire abilities back. He embarks on a shame spiral because he hates himself, refuses to go out in the sun. He feeds on animals in the outskirts at night.

George Weasley gains his wizard abilities back. He couldn’t be happier. He wastes no time in resuming his regularly scheduled pranks and apparating, and creating stupid magical devices.

Klaus Hargreeves gains back their abilities to see, communicate with and summon the dead. He drinks heavily and self-medicates to cope with this.

Klaus Mikaelson gains his vampire abilities back. He’s super bummed that he’s no longer a hybrid, his family hates him, and the love of his life is pregnant with another man’s baby. He’s feeling pretty chaotic.

Luna Lovegood gains her witch abilities back. She’s delighted initially, but it becomes bittersweet when she realizes how much she misses home.

OCT 2

Klaus Mikaelson, in an attempt to bring out the ripper in Stefan Salvatore, brings a bitten Bobby Briggs to tempt him to feed on human blood. When his plan fails, Klaus feeds Bobby his blood and snaps his neck, beginning his transition.

Klaus then confronts Five Hargreeves and attempts to provoke him to use his powers. Klaus is promptly left with a bloody nose and unbridled rage.

OCT 3

Damon Salvatore moves Stefan Salvatore into his boarding house temporarily to protect Betty Cooper.

Hayden McClaine finds out about Jessica Hamby being a vampire and feeding on Pugsley Addams. She’s pissed.

OCT 4

George Weasley introduces Elle Tomkins and Charlotte Winchester to his magic.

OCT 5

Ghosts, in a tenacious attempt to reach Luke Crain and Nell Crain, begin to harrass Klaus Hargreeves. Desperate for them to shut the hell up, Klaus confronts them both.

OCT 7

Klaus Mikaelson begins to officially train Bobby Briggs in the art of being a vampire.

OCT 8

Edward Cullen is at his and Bella Swan’s rehearsal dinner when tensions come to a head with Jasper Hale. The fight is broken up by Carlisle Cullen.

OCT 9

Arya Stark is in the outskirts with Sookie Stackhouse in the outskirts when Sookie is attacked by Rosalie Hale. Arya hides quietly while Sookie is being drained of blood. They also witness Alcide Herveaux come to Sookie’s aid.

Eleanor Shellstrop takes in a bloody, unhinged Alcide Herveaux and finds out about werewolves when he changes in front of her.

OCT 10

Charlie Swan finds Karen Smith after her confrontation with Kai Parker, after almost hitting her with his car on his way home from the station.

OCT 11

Klaus Mikaelson feeds on Brooke Maddox. He compels her to forget the encounter, afterwards.

OCT 13

Ted Mullens and Lydia Martin are hanging out together, when he is accidentally introduced to (and stunned by) her banshee abilities.

OCT 14 

Damon Salvatore gets in a confrontation with Dallas Winston at Bloody Knuckles. Damon throws him into the shelves in their office and feeds on him, before fleeing.

OCT 15

Klaus Hargreeves is enlisted by Zoe Benson to assist her and Ginny Weasley to conjure the ghost of Kiara Carrera and bring her back to life.

OCT 16

Montana Duke lets Jessica Hamby feed from her. She gets kinda pissed off when Jess feeds too much and that’s it.

Harry Bingham is informed of the attack on Cayetana Pando.

George Weasley and Robin Buckley attempt a prank that backfires, leaving Robin with burns from an explosive.

Erin Hannon is hanging out with Dustin Henderson, when she trips and skins her knee. She is then fed on by Bobby Briggs while an injured Dustin is forced to watch helplessly.

Steve Randle attempts to fight Kol Mikaelson for no real reason. Kol slams him into the ground.

Klaus Mikaelson realizes the existence of Shadowhunters when Bobby Briggs is attacked with a seraph blade. He confronts Lucie Herondale.

OCT 22

After resisting the temptation of human blood for weeks, Edward Cullen is on a stroll with Bella Cullen when he hears the unkind thoughts of Mickey Milkovich while he’s jumping someone. He zooms over, breaks up the fight and feeds on Mickey until Bella catches up and talks him down.

OCT 24

On his way to Bloody Knuckles, Damon Salvatore comes across Aria Montgomery. Overwhelmed by from a previous encounter with Stefan Salvatore, he feeds on Aria. Damon then compels her to believe that Stefan did this to her, and sends her to find him.

OCT 26

Klaus Mikaelson feeds on Sookie Stackhouse. He attempts to make her to forget the encounter, but realizes she’s immune to compulsion.

Bad Boys (1995)

Overlong, unimaginative, dated, and too often relying on shootouts or explosions rather than a properly-written script, Bad Boys is a slog. Placing Martin Lawrence and Will Smith together in an action-comedy should’ve worked but the end result is mean-spirited and grating. I’m going to have to pull back on my criticisms because I don’t think most viewers will hate this movie as much as I did.

Miami detectives Marcus Burnett (Lawrence) and Mike Lowrey (Smith) are looking for the criminals who stole $100 million’s worth of seized heroin from the secure police vault. The case becomes personal when Lowrey’s ex-girlfriend Maxine “Max” Logan (Karen Alexander) is murdered (thank goodness, the actress is so wooden she makes you cringe) by the thieves and even more difficult to navigate when Max’s roommate Julie (Téa Leoni) witnesses the murder and is placed in the partner’s custody.

Probably pitched as “one’s a married guy, one’s a player”, the characters prove themselves so unlikable you’d more likely describe Bad Boys as a buddy cop comedy in which one’s a black a**hole and the other’s a black a**hole. In every scene, the detectives argue and bicker, pausing only when they begin bullying someone else. It’d be fine if they could manage to do their job well while tossing insults, but they’re some of the worst movie cops I've ever seen. Always getting sucked into convoluted lies, inadvertently getting witnesses killed, blowing up public property or dropping the ball on their investigation, it’s no wonder Captain Howard (Joe Pantoliano) is always yelling at them but counterintuitively, he always gives the duo another chance.

There are plenty of chases and shootouts - it's what director Michael Bay does best - when the movie takes a wild turn. For reasons too stupid to explain, Marcus must pretend to be Mike and vice-versa. This leads to the married man having to lie to his wife in an attempt to keep the flimsy masquerade he set up from crumbling. Overall, this film treats its female characters poorly. Most are prostitutes or harpies and the worst is easily Marcus’ wife, Theresa (Theresa Randle). In every scene, she nags her husband or makes wild assumptions about his behavior. You never believe they would've tied the knot.

Numerous scenes go on for too long and ultimately, add nothing to the plot. In theory, they’d be injecting laughs but the chuckles are few and far between. Smith and Lawrence were given free rein to ad-lib, resulting in a lot of homophobic and racial humor. It's too bad. They play each other well otherwise.

Bad Boys is the kind of film you’d love to see a sequel to. Not another adventure featuring the duo, but a gritty legal drama in which the two are paraded in court and pelted with endless legal charges for the crimes they committed. I couldn’t stand it. (On DVD, January 8, 2020)
