Say all you want about the Shiver hate but the funniest thing is that people are making those stories addressing the hate with one character feeling so bad for poor Shiver because people are upset at her and the game iykyk
Especially if they include the "I'm so strong and protective" bit only to "subvert" our expectations with the character being upset FOR her and not AT her
Straight up hilarious, can't believe we're doing this unironically
Anyway yeah I'm salty too that she keeps winning and the Splatfests should be regional again but let's be real, this isn't gonna change and we all knew it was gonna happen when we saw the initial reaction for her. Being salty won't change anything, it's time to accept it y'all

hiya! just wanted to say how i admire your confidence about your opinions on splatoon tumblr,, which can honestly be scary,,, but anyways i strongly agree with your opinions about frye!! i love her she deserves the world…. frye nation rise up let’s win a splatfest
FRYE ICON SPOTTED BASED AS FUCK!!! 🫵🫵🫵
Honestly that's real. I mean I was pretty vocal about my perspectives and opinions on twitter and weebs (as far as i'm concerned they were white) hated my ass for it so I eventually did leave cause that's a hellhole.
And for once this time, I don't blame a majority of the issue on the designers at nintendo who made Frye. It rlly is the shit bias of a large population of this planet.
Although I do blame nintendo's issue to first make less popular teams have a chance in splatfests and then immediately give frye the majority/child options: Family (seriously what % of children can celebrate solo or have the freedom to celebrate with friends) and saturday (the ease of appeal option, shiver of course got the workaholics with friday) I do wish they can give frye niche but insane options to actually utilize the new system better. Frye needs to absolutely win a splatfest but it's not gonna happen if they continue with the current trend with the newly balanced system.
If support for spoon 3 really is going to end 2 years from launch without frye winning more than 1 you know it's bad bad. It's already been bad bad and a lot of us seen the bias in the raw, but damn. And honestly, even if it sucks to look at and experience for a lot of people, once again it proves a point. I don't want to hear anymore "Stop making it about race" in splatoon after everyone seeing this. The only option is to move forward, you can't go back to ignorance anymore after this. The overall character design choices are going in good direction, it's just everyone hates to see it now that the dark character isn't shy and easily made into submissive fetish material. lol! I can only hope that whoever made these designs and approved of them, don't stop continuing to make those decisions that continue to diversify their cast. Again, splatoon 4 needs 4 fryes. I rest my case.

     (Y/N)'s POV
-------------------------
We continue to talk with Jacob when I told him how many things our teacher can do with a pencil, he just surprised. Because our teachers did not just write with a pencil. They can throw them in air and catch 'em in the same place and they can do that forever. And they are not stopping, not fail, every time. And so many things like that. That conversation starts when Jacob saw in his Twitter a text but it was Turkish so he wants me to translate it, and of course, I said ''Yes'' because how can I say no to his smirk and those hazel eyes of his. I look to the text message, it says ''Avrupa'da avukatlık okuyorum, Galatasaray Lisesi mezunuyum ve önüme geçen her testin tamamını doğru yapabiliyorum, sizin yetenkleriniz nedir?'' I looked to the text message with impressed and Jacob quickly realizes it and said ''What was it, love?'' I said ''Damn, this girl is so successful. It says ''I study to be a lawyer in Europe, I graduated from Galatasaray High school and I could solve any questions that come in front of me. What is your talent guys? And Galatasaray High School is the most successful school in Turkey. If you want to get into that school you should at least get the LGS exam full correct and all of your subjects and exams should be 100 and it means in your education system  A+.'' When I told him that he was impressed. And I continued ''So, what is your talent, Jacob Frye?'' And he smirks at me and I felt a heat goes to my cheeks. I hide my cheeks with the sleeve my loose sweater. He looks at me and says with a grin and a smirk ''Well (Y/N) (L/N) I can fight so deadly and I can take aim from so far and I can shoot my target from there.'' He looks at me like he asks me to say him my talent. And I realized he is quite sexy. When I realize it he asks with his low voice ''So, (Y/N) (L/N) what is your special talent?'' I answered him with nervus. ''Well, Jacob Frye I can remember everyone's teacup on an occasion that includes 100 people. And I don't think I have another talent.'' He still looks at me with one of his elbows on the kitchen counter, and he said to me when I just finish my sentence ''Lie. I saw the paintings you do, I heard you memorize everything you see and you prove it in the history class. And I saw your ballet and how you play (T/I/Y/W/T/P) in videos...'' He continued but After my dad calls me, I got the coffees and put them on a tray.
I went to the living room, give everyone coffee. And went back to the kitchen, I found Jacob looking at his phone with worry. He looks like some child on a swing and looks for the sky with worry when it rains.
''What happened? I just went to the living room to bring others coffee.'' He didn't react to me. I go near to him and I saw an emotion like... Like... Heartbreak?
''My ex...'' And I say with  ''Oh...'' He continued ''I saw her story on Instagram.'' And he showed me the story for like five seconds ''As I say, she just gets over me...'' and he takes the phone to his direction and I stop him ''No, No, show that again.'' He looks to me with a smirk and gave me his phone. I looked again and I said ''I know this guy.'' I lead the phone between us and said ''Look for the man behind them. And look at the zippo he uses to light his cigarette. It has a Turkish flag on it. And if you look for the view it matches with the Barırköy coast. Wich is not a real coast. Wait, I know here. I was in there!'' And I took my coat from the chair.
''Wait!? What are you doing?'' I shout at him and I say ''If you want to see her, Quick! We don't have any time to waste''
When I saw that he is not making any move, I grabbed his hand and lead him to the outside. First-time my luck smiles to my face and I found a taxi. I told the driver where we should go and he shakes his hand and we start to go.
I looked to Jacob he looks like a villager who saw an alien. I said to him ''What?! Didn't you want this?'' He said when he stands straight. ''No... Well, maybe. But not like that.'' And when he said that we arrived. ''Too late.'' When I look back I saw he didn't move. He looks at me with a smirk and le relaxes more I shout at him ''Okey Mr. Sexy if you want to see her we need to go.'' And I picked his hand and lead him outside. When I lead him outside, he said with a huge, flirty and in my option sexy, smirk that sends a shiver down to my spine ''So, you think I'm sexy?'' I rolled my eyes and say ''Don't you dare start.''
When we arrived, I felt a huge pain in my stomach. And as a normal human, I cry for the pain I felt. And when I almost fell to the ground Jacob pick me and looked me in the eye. ''(Y/N)! Are you okay?!'' I said when I got up. ''Y-Yes, yes. I'm good.''
              Shit.
This shouldn't happen here. Like a bad memory, It was two years earlier, my friends turn their back to me. They shoot me behind. And when I was alone at home. All I want is to be free. So I go to the window and I close my eyes then open them again, I thought that look was my last look to the world. The last thought I have was  ''When people say you're worthless, that does not mean you are worthless. When people say you're a wrong person, that doesn't mean you're a wrong person. That's just prooves they are just stupid.'' And I jumped. But I didn't think I will live. But when I learned to make a child to me is nearly impossible, I want to die twice. And the doctors said to me ''You jumped to an iron bar. And the iron bar enters your stomach and damage the wall of the womb. So, you have a serious stitch. You shouldn't be in so hot and so cold.'' And if I will be somewhere like that it could bleed. For that, I take some pills to it. But I remember I forgot to take them today.
So, when I got up he was still looking at me so I showed him the girl named Teressa I think ''Look she is there! Let's go!'' And when we go near to them, I felt pain again and I touch the wound. I look to my hand again and when I looked, all I could saw was blood.
I got up and said to Jacob ''I'm in the toilet!''
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jacob's POV
---------------------
(Y/N) wnt to the toilet with panic in her eyes. So I started to look for Teressa. There is a man that looked familiar to me. Of course, That was Trevor, he is one of the popular guys in my old school.
I came closer to them and I start to hear the conversation they have. Trevor said ''I will make you happier than that Jacob. When I get his gang called Rooks, I will win.'' I start to get angry. How could he say something like that? Then they continue to that conversation, some people go to that table too. When I take a closer look I saw my traitor friends. They were the first Rooks and the first friends I have in middle school. The first one I met was Ed, I was best friends with him, then someday Nigel came and when I so busy with making a gang in school, I didn't realize they were hiding secrets from me and after that, they start to talk among themselves. And after all of the time they just... They just... Go...
After like thirty minutes I started to worry about where (Y/N) is. And I looked around for her. When I saw her she saw me too and she smiles at me.
She sat next to me and said with a warm smile ''So, what happened?'' And I look back to the crowd. And back to her. When I saw Teressa and Trevor kissing I just got up from the chair and start to walk over to the table Teressa and others are sitting. But when I feel something on my arm. It wasn't hurting me, when I look for it I saw it.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Y/N)'s POV
-------------
I took Jacob's arm and when he looks back at me I saw something at his eyes, a  child, broken and crying for help. And I saw it, his soul was wounded.
''Jacob, don't. If you will do that, you won't feel better than before. Believe me, they don't deserve someone perfect like you.'' He looked at me with sad eyes, ''How could you feel sure about that?'' I know that was an S.O.S. came from him, that no one looks for. ''Cause, I see it in your eyes. Let's just get out of here and I promise you we will talk about it.'' He just nodded. And we started to get out of the restaurant.
We walked a little bit and arrived at the rocky place on the coast.  I jumped to the rocks and Jacob came behind me. When we sat to rock and look for the sea, I was the first one to talk. ''What happened? I mean when you look to them, you are not looking to them with anger or revenge ''What did they do to you, Jacob?'' He stopped a little bit. I was sure that he remembers the thing or things happened. I was just like a child who waits for her lollipop from her parents. He took a deep breath, ''It was two years ago, I have the most perfect friends around me. Or I was thinking like that. When I started high school, I was the most popular guy at school as usual. Come on, look to this face.'' And he shows me his face, I giggled ''And I planned to start a new gang. I joined all of the sports clubs I could join as possible, that's where I meet with Teressa, but that's another story. I was busy with my gang, and I think I get away from my friends. I still don't know how I didn't I get caught by teachers eye, I think that's Evie's thing. My friends start to ignore me, and '' When he didn't even finish his sentence I continue. ''Let me guess, and they tell you to move on and they finish their friendship with you, you start to feel like you are so weak and you are not enough for their attention. You became a depressive person, sometimes you feel numb and paralyzed. After some time you have new friends around you and you trust them very well. Is this how your story ends?'' His face looks like he was taken aback by my words. He just said ''Exactly.'' But I continued to my sentence I picked his hand and say ''Look, Jacob, people can be blind sometimes. Most of the time they don't see what's in front of them. If you're worried about you're not enough, all I can say to you is ''Enough to who and enough to whom?'' sometimes you see a beautiful person and an ugly person, you can say ''Wow! Look to the girl and look to the man with her he looks like her grandfather.'' and someone can say ''Wow! Look to the man and look to the woman with her. She isn't enough to him.'' so, don't forget, you are soo special, there is no other person like you. That means you don't need to worry about being enough for something or someone, cause you're always enough or more than enough. Ok? And you don't need to worry about the things you have a problem with. You can always come to me. Cause if you can't find a way to get out of them, maybe WE could find a way to get out of them.'' He looked to me with thankful eyes. ''I lived the same things too, so it looks like we share the same fate, Mr. Frye.'' I stood up and told him ''We can go now don't you think. We will have a lot of time to talk, Am I wrong?'' he stood up too and he said ''Oh, yeah lass.'' and he presses a thing in his hand and he moves to left a little bit and shows the car behind him. I ask with shock ''How did you?'' he said ''Oh, I have a lot of surprises.'' And he gave me his hand to help me get out of the rocky area.
When we got in the car, I feel like his eyes always are on me.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jacob's POV
---------------
When we were in the car, I couldn't get my eyes off of her. She was the only person who spoke to me like that. She was soo merciful, kind and positive. When I was thinking all of them at the same time, she opened the window and her hair was flowing with the wind and her eyes were closed. I could saw her smile on the wind came to her skin. She was like the stars. She lights more when it gets dark. I could just look at her and see the stars in her. So I wanted to make her close to the atmosphere, where she belongs. I opened the top window. And she quickly looked to it. She said ''Why you didn't tell me you have a top window in the car!?'' I said with the usual smirk on my face ''I said to you love, I'm full of surprises.'' And after that, I saw some drops on the window. When I look up to the sky, I was full of dark clouds and I started to realize the rain was started. The storms are coming. And when I looked to (Y/N), I saw she isn't at the place that she was sitting. And I looked to her legs. I saw she was climbed to the car's seat and she was out of the top window. I said her ''(Y/N)! It's raining! What are you doing!?'' She said back to me ''That's why it's soo fun!'' After those words, I saw her hair was wet, and she smiles the brighter than the sun at the storm. She was different. I felt something. But I didn't care about it. I was busy watching her. She said ''Can you pull over?'' when she sat back to her seat and I closed the top window. I asked her ''Why?'' and she looked to me with naughty eyes and she started to talk ''Just don't think about it! It's my surprise for you.'' and after that, I pull over. And she said ''I knew you like surprises.'' After that, she got out of the car and rut outside with her arms and hands open with a smile on her face. I got out of the car and I yell at her ''(Y/N)! What are you doing?'' when she heard that I yell at her she came back to the car and opened the song ''One Direction - The Story Of My Life '' and she got the voice level as high as possible then she took me from my hands and lead me to the pouring rain. Then she yelled at me ''Thought you were brave to walk under the rain, Mr. Frye'' Then she leave my hands and started to run. I said ''Oh, I am Ms. (L/N).'' and she yelled at me again ''So prove it, Mr. Frye! Catch me if you can!'' After that, I tried to clutch her.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Guys let's chance the song to Ruelle - Live Like Legends from here... All right! Let's continue to our story!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When she was running I heard a voice came from behind when I turned my back I saw a woman with an angelic voice and a long white dress. Then she started to talk ''Hello Jacob Frye, we need to talk.'' I asked her who is she, she answered me with kindness ''I have so many names. But...It was Minerva when I was dead.'' I remembered the name. And she continued ''I learned that you are always praying for Juno to show you what your soulmate is doing.'' I started to feel awkward and a little bit scared ''There is no need to be afraid of.  We are not the gods. We are just the ones that came before. I just want to know why you are caring so much about your soulmate.'' I answered her ''I just want to know who she is.'' and she continued ''I know you are so connected to her even now but I think I could help you more than Juno and when you need to make a choice I need you to promise me, child, that you won't release her.'' and I was so excited and I promised her I won't release her. and she contınued to talk ''All I can tell you is you are so close to being with her. Goodbye, my child, we will talk again soon.'' And then she disappeared. I turned to real-life when I heard (Y/N) called me. ''Jacob? Are you okay?'' And she came more near to me. When she was trying to hold my shoulder I caught her and swing her around. When I sat her to the ground she giggled at me and she said ''No! That's not fair!'' and I catch her once again and said ''Oh, isn't is fair, love?'' And after that so many times and rouns of running and catching. When I tried to catch her again she stopped and I jumped to her back ''Gotchya!'' she put his finger to my mouth and continued to talk '' Yes, of course, dad. We are on our way! Bye!'' she looked back to me and giggled ''Your face is so funny right now cause, you realize my dad was on the phone'' and I answered her with a smirk on my face ''Oh is it?'' and I catch her again and raise her to the air. And she said ''Why we don't take photos?'' and we started to take photos. And when we went back to the car we looked at the photos and send them to each other.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
(Y/N)'s POV
-------------
And we arrive back home with all of our wet hair and clothes we went to our rooms secretly. I told him that I will take a quick shower and I make a beeline to the bathroom. When the hot water hit my shoulder I was soo relaxed by the feeling. And my brain went back to Jacob again and again. I still don't know why I feel so attached to him but I thought that's because we lived the same things, the same infidelities, same problems. When I was thinking those things I got out of the shower and quickly changed my clothes. I wished everyone a good night and I pulled over by Evie and I told her everything we do, not the special parts, of course, and she told me that there is a very good harmony between us and she told me to be careful about her stupid twin, and after a little chit chat with Evie I went back to my room.
When I was nearly sleeping, I heard Jacob's voice that calling me. I opened my eyes and ''Jacob? Why aren't you sleeping?'' and he answered me with puppy eyes ''(Y/N) I can't sleep. Can I sleep with you cause Evie sleeps with Henry my dad is in another room and I have a problem with sleeping in a place that is new for me?'' When I saw nervous in his eyes I said ''Of course Jacob, you can sleep with me. That's not a problem.'' and I made a space for him to sleep and when he sleeps next to me, his face was full of peace.
I woke up again at 4 a.m. and I found Jacob sleeping on my chest and my hand was on his hair. And I use the opportunity of playing with his soft chocolate brown hair. When I was nearly sleeping I heard a whisper came from him ''Thank you (Y/N), sweet dreams.'' And I leave myself to the arms of sleep.

This Life is mine: Jacob Frye x OC
The following is a non profit fan based story Assassin's creed belongs to Ubisoft please support the official release.
_
I gain no profit from this nor do I own anything other then OCs  and whatever sprouts from my imagination. Thanks for reading!
[Elliott "Ellie" Addison Morgan novice assassin also a daughter and victim of a Templar wannabe. Was raised to be her father's perfect little doll, Elliott knew nothing but scorn and disapproval from her father, who viewed her as nothing more then a bargaining chip to marry off and increase his social status, just like her sister who is now missing, Elliott would be damned if she going end up like her sister, especially when she found out her father planned to wed her to Crawford Starrick, she escaped and stowed-away on a train not thinking it was occupied by a couple of Assassins...]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
She did it... she actually did it! Elliott wanted to laugh out loud and scream with joy from the rooftops that she was free! She was finally free! the brunette had her doubts that her plan would work, but it did!
She knew her father wanted Starrick's approval so badly and his bullheaded thirst to win, caused his fat head to be shoved so far up his own ass; he wouldn't have noticed that his own daughter had switched places with a maid!
Elliott slowed down pulled the brown trench coat closer to body adjusted her hat when someone ran passed her, she when she was sure the coast was clear she used eagle vision to follow the clues to the hiding spot where Clyde had hid her gear, The blue eyed girl smiled when she found it, grabbed the suitcase and ran down the street towards the train station.
Elliott's smile faltered a bit when she saw the empty terminal save for a single train, she quietly approached a man who appeared to be the repair man, Elliott hesitated before the sounds of her father's search party got closer in the distance. "Hey are there seats available?" She asked quickly causing the man to jump by her sudden appearance.
"Wha-What" the man stammered "Seats man, are there any seats available?"the blue eyed woman asked glancing over her shoulder the back at the man who looked very confused. "Uh, no this a private train ma'am it don't-" Elliott handed him a stunning sum of money about 200 pounds, the man eyes bugged out of his skull and counted it before nodding. "Alright, you can hide out in the fourth car, no one uses it. but if we get caught? you're on your own." He said leading her to the unused storage car he unlocked it and helped Elliott inside.
"Thank you." the man just nodded and closed the door leaving Elliott alone in the dark and with her thoughts, Soon she felt the train lurch as it started to move away from the station, Elliot wasn't sure how she sat there staring out the small window at the sky or how long it had been since she'd escaped, but soon she sighed contently and drifted off to sleep.
the following morning Agnes was was and ready to switch her shift with Bob when she found him looking like a kid on Christmas counting a wad of cash, her brow furrowed as she approached him "Where'd you get that money?" she demanded as he tried to hide the notes behind his back. "Uh, I found it?" the portly woman wasn't having it! she held her hand out and Bob pouted and reluctantly handed the money over she counted and gawked the amount.
"There's over 200 pounds here! where did yo-" The Frye twins who overheard the commotion came to see what the problem was? Agnes explained how she just came to switch with Bob and found him counting a wad of notes, Both were stunned at the amount and asked how he obtained it? The engineer stuck to his guns that he found it! But the twins clearly weren't buying it, After going back and fourth Bob finally gave in.
"Car four, she's in car four...Can I have my money back?"
"No." Both Evie and Jacob huffed as the male twin pocketed the cash in his jacket intending to give it back to whoever snuck onto their train...Then kick them off. "Aww.." Bob moaned dismayed before Agnes berated him that it served him right taking money from strangers and letting them stowaway on Bertha.
Both Jacob and Evie were hesitant about entering the car they weren't sure what to expect, Jacob went in first much to his sister's annoyance, they were both highly skilled assassin's she didn't need him protecting her! But that didn't stop him from trying. Both scanned the dusty car for any signs of someone life, before Evie's eyes landed on a small figure curled up between two crates, she nudged her brother who followed her gaze.
The two found the figure to be a sleeping girl around their age maybe younger, with brown wavy hair wearing a worn out brown jacket and maid's uniform sleeping without a care in the world hugging a suitcase to her side. Both twins looked at each other before Jacob tapped the girl in the ribs with his foot. "Oi you, time to wake up!" he ordered the girl gasped and her eyes fluttered opened looked around confused as Evie yanked her brother back.
"You could've just asked her to wake-up, you didn't need to kick her!"
"I didn't kick her! I tapped her, there's difference!"
The two argued hospitality methods as Elliott awkwardly watched them, she assumed Braids and Top-hat were the owners of the train she had snuck on to for the night, not really sure how to talk to them she just kind of stayed quiet, until she felt sneeze coming on she let it loose both twins turned to her and barked. "Bless you!" then went back to arguing before Jacob remembered what they were doing and shook his head. "Wait no, not bless you! Who are you?" the male twin demanded as his sister butted in "And why are you on our train?" Looks like Elliott's assumptions were correct before she could answer the door to the car opened and Henry walked in.
"Ah, So this is were the two of...Elliott?! the Indian assassin exclaimed pointing at the the brunette who in turn pointed back at him "Henry?!" causing the top-hat man to laugh "Jacob!" he quipped while pointing at himself then he got elbowed in the ribs by his sister."You know her?" Evie asked to the stunned man who nodded immediately pulled the short girl into hug. "Yes, she's Elliott Morgan an Assassin...But how did you?" pulled away then noticed her suitcase and outfit.
"Maybe we should explain this in the study?" He suggested as the twins followed them, Elliott removed the old trench coat showing off a large hand shaped bruise on her arm as she sat down across from Henry who frowned when he saw it, Elliott covered it with her over hand, the twins shifted uncomfortable. "What happened?" The brunette shrugged "A parting gift from Aric..." She hissed out her father's name out venomously, Henry told her to elaborate, the brunette sighed a slouched in her seat. "Let's see about three weeks ago..."
{My father called me into his study, I assumed he was upset about some mundane thing that his paranoid mind saw as offensive! Maybe he saw me moving some lose hair out of my face or holding a damn book wrong? Who knows! everything I did always seem to set him off...anyhow, He explained that St. James concert hall had contacted him, They invited me to sing for their 10th anniversary and charity event, and that I should start preparing for the big night.
Rejection was not an option with my father, but my suspicions were irked and he wouldn't stop trying to pick out songs that he wanted, And you course know he's never been the charitable sort unless it benefited him in some way, nor was he ever interested in my singing. So stupid me had to ask "Are you asking if I'd like to sing? or ordering me to sing?" He was not happy when I said that way he looked at me still causes me freeze up. "Don't you ever speak to me like that again...Or I'll-" I don't want to think about what he was going to say, his secretary interrupted us.
He snapped at me to go practice and when the big night came around, I found out why he had accepted the invitation, and push me to nearly losing my voice for an otherwise calm event. it wasn't just a charity event! It was also a congratulatory party for my engagement to Crawford Starrick... I remember feeling sick as my father led me to the Templar's grand master! I felt disgusted, angry and just devastated that this was happening a second time...He did the same thing to my sister...I saw what she went through and I didn't want it!
So, I took a risk! I tried to sneak away while he Crawford were talking about dates and business, he saw me and grabbed my wrist hard trying to keep me from leaving I told him I was just going to get a drink, and he let me go,Then I ran into Susanne. [ Henry grimaced hearing that name, having met that beastly bigot of a woman before; she left a very unfavorable impression in the Indian assassin.] Yes...that Susanne the snobby maid who fell in love with "Showroom Aric" as I call my father's public face. practically worships the ground he walks on, and thinks I was just being an ungrateful rotten brat to my dear sweet father! She was extra nasty that night, of course I ignored her... and was more focused on her body thought. "Ey, we're about the same size and build..."
So, I asked if she wanted to get up close to my father? She took me into a back room and we switched clothes, luckily it was a masquerade party so no one noticed. I ran out the back and straight into my butler and assassin mentor Clyde. The old man knew about the engagement before I did, he didn't tell me because I'd panic, and tip my father off that I was gonna run. Clyde knows I do my best thinking when time and the odds are stack high against my favor, He saw me switch places with the maid and knew the game was on, He gave me his hat and his jacket and told me he had feeling I going do something drastic. and told me where he stashed a suitcase I had hidden in my closet ages ago! Found it and then I made my way to the train station...}
"...And that's how I got here." Elliott said pointing at car floor as Henry and the Frye twins took in her story Henry was was obviously relieved, Evie's reaction was one pity and distrust, Which didn't surprise Elliott in the least; Since she just confessed to being Crawford Starrick's Fiancee. While Jacob's reaction seemed...Well, the brunette didn't really know what to make of his expression, There was some distrust. but it was overshadowed by fascination and zeal, Maybe? The blue eyed girl wasn't too sure as she was really used seeing someone look at her like that.
"And what of mentor McCormick?" Henry voice broke her stare off with Jacob to answer her friend "Clyde? he did a good job at hiding our lessons..." The Indian arched brow knowing full well that there was a But coming."But, father is starting to get suspicious, it would seem my odd hours of staying out and waking up late was starting to get on his nerves." She winced recalling her father throwing a tantrum for her yawning during a business meeting, one of his clients and accusing her of sneaking off with men and embarrassing the family by whoring around. "No surprises he started limiting my time outside and kept me locked in the library or my room to teach me a lesson." She hissed answering Henry's next question as to why the novice suddenly stopped taking contracts and disappeared.
"And you're sure he didn't see you leave?" Henry asked cautiously just wanting to make sure no Templars were coming knocking their door down. "Positive, Daddy dearest was so sure that his submissive little doll was nothing without him, so he let me out of his sight for that split second, it was enough for me come up wit plan A." Elliott purred with a grin obviously picturing how pissed her father must've been when he found out he'd been had! and that ice cold bucket of reality Susanne got slapped with probably shattered her image of Aric forever.
"Oh-ho!~ I'll bite Girly, What was plan B?" Jacob suddenly chimed in on the edge of his seat obviously enjoying the new girl's on the dime quick-wittedness. "Start a fire get lost in the panic and just wing it from there!" she shrugged rubbing the back of her head with slight frown causing the man the chuckle he looked at Henry while pointing at the short girl. "I like her, she's alrig-" He yanked back by his sister who was clearly paranoid about their guest.
"Miss Morgan was it?" Evie asked causing the brunette to nodded. "Though you may be one of us, you're still tied the Templars so you'll have be monitored until such time as passed-" She was cut off by her brother who clearly upset with his sister's assumption. "What the hell Evie? She escaped one cage and now you want to put her in another one?!" He exclaimed in disbelief at what he was hearing the girl obviously escaped a monster and came to them for sanctuary only to be told we don't trust you, that's just not fair!
"I have agree with your brother miss Frye, I've know Lily for-" Henry threw his hand over his mouth, Elliot blanched as Evie slowly turned to Henry clearly affronted "Jacob take your novice and go..." she hissed as her brother blinked incredulously "My novice?... Wha-" His sister's icy tone silenced him. "Now..." Jacob jumped to his feet "Right, let's go Girly!" He grabbed Elliott's arm and dragged her to his car, leaving Henry to deal with Evie and whatever crawled up her backside.
The two could hear the muffled arguing as Jacob proudly showed his apparent student off to the Rooks, before showing her around his room, the brunette looked around as the curiosity started gnawing at him "So, what exactly was that back there?" he inquired while Elliott looked through some hidden blade sketches on his desk, The brunette blushed before gesturing for him to come down to her level and she whispered it to him, Jacob's green eyes widened to the size of dinner plates.
"YOU AND GREENIE USED BE ENGAGED?!?!" he bellowed loud enough to be heard throughout the train causing a few Rooks outside to stumble or spit their drinks out. "t-That's just arg...h-How old are you? 14-16?!" he stammered Elliott looked at him oddly "I'll be twenty in three months!..do I really look that young?" She asked unsure if she should be offended or flattered?
Jacob's mouth hung open as he gave her a once over, he didn't how answer that. "I-it's that coat! it makes you look tiny!" he sputtered gestured at Clyde's jacket, Elliott brow furrowed and went to take it off, only for Jacob to to stiffen and the back of his neck heat up. He hadn't realized how short the maid uniform was [the skirt stops just passed her knees and she wearing stockings], or how tight it was in the chest area; he swallowed a lump that had formed in his throat and immediately pulled the jacket back on, causing his novice to give him a look that screamed what the hell? Jacob backed away and coughed "Let's sort that out later, and figure out sleeping arrangements shall we?"
They came to an understanding that Elliott will have his couch and half his cart; considering Evie was still pouting and wasn't a huge fan of Elliott at the moment speaking of which..."Who names their daughter Elliott?" the male Frye twin asked genuinely curious as Elliott's lips twitched "The same man who thought he had control over gender, and was sure my older sister and I were going to be boys." Jacob suddenly had the urge to apologize, But the brunette continue. "He eventually did get his boy, Issac father's favorite little parrot." She spat looking exhausted and listless just thinking about the boy.
She explained that both her brother and father had this gift of sucking the life out of someone just by sheer thought. "I think that's why Starrick hasn't initiated them into the order, but likes to keep him around, y'know? just to have a laugh at how many days Aric & his son can ruin in one hour or less?" That caused Jacob to stall.
"Wait, so your father isn't a Templar?"
"No, he more like their stooge, Starrick's been stringing him a long for years, and my father is a narcissistic fool."
"But why would he agree to marry you, if he's just playin' with your father?"
"I wondered that myself, until I remembered reading through my mother's journal, Turns out Starrick and my mother were sweet on each other back in the day, Till my father weaseled his way into my grandfather's favor and soon after forced my parents into marriage..."
Jacob stomach suddenly did flops and not in a good way, Starrick couldn't have the mother so he'd settle for his ex-lover's daughter as some kind of  substitute? "I get wanting a young bride, but your ex's daughter?" He shuddered in disgust just when he thought Templars couldn't get any worst. "I'm just glad I've never crossed paths with him until yesterday." Elliott grimaced not wanting to think what would've happened if her father gotten desperate before she had joined the Assassins and tried curry favor with Starrick when she was younger...just like he did to her sister and Roth.
"I'm trying not to think about it, haven forbid if they ever find me." she muttered Jacob patted Elliott on the shoulder nearly knocking her over. "They won't touch you Girly, I promise." He assured before springing up from the couch "Now let's do a bit scouting show me how much you know little novice!" Jacob winked before leading Elliott off the train on her first training mission.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[[ Elliott's older sister is named Campbell Joseph Morgan five years older then Elliott and usually goes by "Belle" she was married off to Roth when she was only 15; Elliott hasn't seen her sister in four years and doesn't even know if she's alive or not!
Then there's their younger brother...His name is Issac Douglas Morgan, and their father's favorite he's a spoiled brat who looks down on his siblings and verbally abuses his older sister when he doesn't get his way!
Much like their father his name is Aric Peter Morgan [nee Sinclair.] their father surname wasn't Morgan he married into the Morgan family, and runs their trading and sweet company like a goddamn dictator, worker safety is at a low and equipment is in somewhat poor maintenance, their financial choices have been in a gray area as of late.
Elliott believes that Starrick is trying to manipulate her father into adding the same drug in his syrup to their candy, surprisingly her father has been as of late; very hesitant about the idea.
So when Starrick seemed like he was losing interest and going to cut Aric lose, he offered Crawford Elliott's hand in marriage! Knowing full well Starrick was his dead wife's ex lover. And has seen the way the Templar's grand master has been eyeing his youngest daughter, Starrick and Aric wasted no time cutting a deal. Good thing they didn't take into account of Elliott's cunning wit and a pair of meddlesome twin assassin's being thrown into the mix.]]

When was the last time you really established your favorite tv show? >> I never bothered establishing a favourite TV show, because I don’t have a reason to. There are a lot of shows I like and I don’t see any point to ranking any above the others.
Write one lyric that really explains the way your life is going as of now? >> ---
Do you ever have any fantasies that involve certain celebrities? Who? >> No.
What is your favorite brand of shoe? Where can you buy these shoes? >> I don’t have a favourite brand of shoe, but I covet Frye shoes every time I see them at Macy’s.
Does anyone ever judge you for something you naturally cannot help? >> I’ve experienced that. But that’s not my problem.
Do you support homosexuality in general? Why do you or why dont you? >> “Support” is a weird word to me. I just don’t have any reason to think about it too hard, there’s no cognitive dissonance or religious dissonance or whatever to work through. Someone telling me they’re gay is about as remarkable to me as someone telling me they have a pet, or something.
Look into your closet. What is the major color of shirts you own? Why? >> Black. Because I like black shirts.
If you had your own personal dance crew, what would you name it and why? >> I wouldn’t do this.
Do you like any other kinds of food from different nationalities? Which? >> I like a lot of foods from a lot of different cultures.
Has anyone ever called you an exact replica of one of your parents? Agree? >> No one has ever called me that.
Do you like watching television on the weekends when you're home alone? >> I’m not home alone on the weekends. Anyway, I watch television whenever I feel like it.
Where do you work, if anywhere? Do you like this job or not so much? >> ---
What would you consider the most important aspect in your entire life? >> I’ve never considered it.
Do you have a significant other at this moment in time? What's their name? >> Her name is Sparrow. I also have Can Calah and King Crimson, who are not to be discounted in either their significance or their otherness.
Have you ever claimed to be in love when you knew you really weren't? >> No.
If you had the chance to meet an annoying celebrity, would you still do it? >> Why... would I want to do that...?
Do you ever lie in the grass during summer or are you afraid of ticks? >> I don’t lie in the grass during the summer because I just don’t take the opportunity, not because I’m afraid of anything.
Does it bother you when you see slutty girls getting all the cute guys? >> ...
In winter, would you rather wear jacket or hoodies? Why is this? >> I wear whatever suits the weather (while taking into account my tendency to overheat).
Are you old enough to legally drink alcohol? How old are you exactly? >> Yeah. 32.
Would you consider yourself a good singer or are you tone deaf? >> I think I’m comfortably somewhere between “tone deaf” and “skillful singer”.
Who was your best friend in the fourth grade? Only if you remember. >> ---
Does anyone fully understand your personality? Who is this person? >> I don’t know.
Can you touch a window from where you're sitting at this moment in time? >> No, I’d have to stand up and lean over.
When was the last time you walked to you destination? Why was this? >> I don’t remember.
What is the highest level you've ever gotten to on guitar hero? >> Expert.
Are there any holes in the walls right now that you were the cause of? >> No.
Do you sometimes feel sorry for serial killers or do you have no mercy? >> I think the pathology of serial killers is interesting and sometimes the nature of their crimes is interesting, too. I have a couple “faves”, as in ones I particularly like reading or watching shows about. But I don’t feel anything about them, positive or negative.
When was the last time you were sick? What exactly were you sick with? >> I don’t remember.
Would you like to see someone right now? Who is this person anyway? >> No.
How many times a day do you tell someone you love them, on average? >> Zero.
McDonalds. Would you consider that place gross or delicious? Why? >> It is gross because the conditions at individual McDonald’s restaurants can sometimes be deplorable, it is unethical and unhealthful because of how the ingredients are obtained and how it is processed, and it is delicious because it is engineered to be.
Do you have an ipod touch or iphone? If so, how many apps do you have? >> No, I have an Android phone and I’ve installed about 10 apps.
Does your mother or father let you normally use their personal credit card? >> ---
When was the last time you ordered something offline? What was it? >> I ordered more CBD a few days ago.
What grade are you in, if you're still in school, that is? Ever failed? >> ---
What would you consider your most prized posession? Who gave it to you? >> I don’t have a prized possession.
Do you ever buy your own clothing or does someone else do that for you? >> I do buy my own clothing, but I also get clothing as gifts.
What is the one thing in life you wish you could just take back? >> ---
Do you think regrets are better left unspoken or should they be out loud? >> I have no opinion.
Does it ever make you angry when people dont even try to use good grammar? >> No, it makes me annoyed when people are obsessed with what they believe to be “good grammar”, because I don’t see language that way.
Does anyone who is a bit younger than you try to flirt with your bf/gf? >> ---
What color is your remote? Does it have any special/interesting features? >> Black. Not that I’ve noticed.
Have you ever fist fought someone before? Did you win this fight? >> Yeah. No.
Does anyone ever tell you that you're too negative or too positive? >> I don’t think anyone’s said either of those things to me in years. When I was in my early twenties a few people said I was “too negative”, which was true because I was pretty damn depressed at the time and didn’t have much self-awareness about how that made me behave.

unasked-for perfectly random starter \ @templartrevelyan
Jacob Frye didn’t know much about Precursor artifacts - but he’s pretty sure they’re not supposed to be twisty and green.
That’s why it was a massive bloody problem when, just after he’d endured that pompous Earl of Cardigan’s final damn words and gotten the corpse shoved under the desk, a stick of some kind matching that very description tumbled from a compartment underneath. Jacob started back, choking back a startled curse as the thing rolled towards him, seemingly of its own volition, and came to rest, quite smartly, at his feet.
If only he hadn’t touched the damn thing.
The moment Jacob had let his curiosity win out, the whole world - Parliament, to be more specific - ripped in two and vanished like tattered paper. His hand was locked around the stick as it seemed to drag him forward into nothingness -
- and deposited on hard stone, stomach heaving right before his lunch came back up. Jacob groaned, managing to get to his knees and resting like that for a moment before slowly getting to his feet. The damned stick was gone. Of course.
“...where the blazes am I,” Jacob breathed as he returned to a low stance and crept down a hallway. “Secret tunnels? Some kind’f...lair, maybe, that must be it.”
He was almost pretty sure it wasn’t - especially when he glanced one way and walked right into somebody coming from the other direction. Jacob only needed to glance up to see armor - plate armor! - before sprinting back the way he’d come.

7. 5-on-3 Handicap Tables, Ladders, and Chairs Match: Kurt Angle and The Shield (Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose) defeated Kane, The Miz, Braun Strowman, and The Bar (Cesaro & Sheamus).
Analysis
It’s a miracle TLC 2017 is such a weirdly entertaining show, especially when all signs were pointing to it easily turning into a disaster. With both Roman Regins and Bray Wyatt bowing out of two marquee matches due to health issues right before showtime, WWE really found themselves in a bind to put out a product that’d still leave fans satisfied. They’ve certainly had plenty of moments where they’ve reacted to last-minute changes poorly but, every so often, it all works out to their benefit and let this show be a shining example.
Reigns exiting stage right from the main event means we see the in-ring return of Kurt Angle in his first WWE match in 11 years, which the shows feels the need to remind us ad nauseam. Watching Angle compete in a WWE ring would’ve been unthinkable even just a few years prior, so it’s surreal just seeing him back in the flesh given belly-to-belly suplexes and ankle locks. But if that’s not enough, we’re treated to him wearing Shield gear, looking like your uncle at a Halloween party. And the main event is hella absurd enough without Angle, but I mean that in a good way. I honestly can’t remember what lead to it being a handicap match to begin with, but I don’t think that match would’ve been as delightfully bonkers without all the additional bodies. The whole thing completely ignores proper match structure and goes right for any ridiculous spot it can imagine. Oh, and the match feels the need to add a garbage truck because why the fuck not.
Meanwhile, Wyatt’s absence leads to him being to replaced by AJ Styles in his match against Finn Balor which, like, Angle’s return, is something that would’ve been unthinkable just a few years prior. It’s definitely the right decision, as both men have incredibly devoted fan bases that lend themselves perfectly to the match. I’d harp more on the crowd chanting “This is awesome!” before the match even starts, but it does turn out to be awesome anyway so whatever. Plus, it pretty much mercy kills the Bray-Balor feud, which should’ve ended at SummerSlam but somehow lingered on into the fall to give us highlights like Bray dumping a bucket of strawberry jam on Balor.
The undercard does gives us a good glimpse into both the status of the women’s and cruiserweight division. I’d completely forgotten the cruiserweights were still even being featured on Raw at this point, although the division is about the take a hard hit in the upcoming months that would see it relegated to pre-show purgatory and irrelevance, an exile continuing to this day. The women’s division continues to show signs of growth since Women’s Revolution began over two years prior. There are still areas that need improvement though, as this show sees them in throes of the Alexa Bliss mega push. It’s not unwarranted to push Alexa as one of the division’s top stars. She’s certainly got the charisma to hold her own, but it becomes a problem when they throw everyone else under a bus in the process. We’re in the midst of a storyline here where she bullies Mickie James due to her age and she pretty much gets away with it. Be a star, WWE.
So, yeah, for or all the worries that TLC 2017 would suck, it’s an okay way to spend three hours overall. It’s doesn’t feature many high stakes or long-term significance, but a B-show doesn’t necessarily need to be that way to be good. Sometimes, when your back is against the wall, you just gotta go all out. WWE does that here and the result is a show that’s about as successful as it could’ve been.
My Random Notes
This shows sees the final WWE appearance of Emma. It’s clear they don’t know what to do with her at this point. I mean, what the hell is up with her entrance music? It’s like they threw everything but a shoehorn in there and the “Ya” makes her sound like Billy Graham doing that horrible kung fu gimmick.
Ah, yes, and this show also sees Enzo Amore in his final weeks on the WWE roster before becoming the walking punchline/wannabe rapper/alleged rapist/human garbage we know him as today. I do like the direction they were heading with the cruiserweight division. I just wish they casted someone else as the prick scumbag heel other than the man who has since given us the term “consensual penis.”
*Some fan is shown waving a “Kalisto Killed Harambe” sign, which I hate on principle because Harambe is a meme that should’ve been left in 2016 and one that’s often shared by unfunny people.
Lost amidst a weird ass show is the weird ass storyline where Jason Jordan is Kurt Angle’s son and he’s throwing produce at Elias in a recurring segment throughout the show for, um, reasons. I think they were on the verge of making it work when they were turning Jordan heel in early 2018, but Jordan’s career is pretty much over now due to injury, so the entire storyline feels like this one long fever dream instead.
Because it needs to be said, The Miz’s hair is the dirt worst here. He really shouldn’t be following my Dwight Frye comparison but here we are. At least he’s had the good sense to cut it since. He’s quite the handsome chap now.
The camera in the early going of the main event cuts to Kane sitting up at ringside. It’s meant to be menacing but it just makes Kane look bored and depressed, as if there were any other way to sum up Glen Jacob’s wrestling career at this point.
I do like the idea of The Demon as a special attraction as you know people would complain about how stale it’d get if Balor did it every damn week. I just wish there were more of an explanation as to why he breaks out in Demon drag only every once in awhile.
It’s October here so that means we’re unfortunately treated to WWE’s annual pink-washing and shilling of Susan G. Komen. What’s worse is that they’re using the Ultimate Warrior’s name promote it this time which, on top of making no fucking sense, is pretty gross because they’re ignoring the fact that Warrior was definitely not a humanitarian. Can’t we just have pink ropes year-round without all of this problematic bullshit?

Western Illinois, Year 37, 2043-2044
Tumblr media
Our Western Illinois dynasty has four seasons left in College Hoops 2K8. We need two titles to tie John Wooden’s record.
Welcome back to our simulated dynasty with the Western Illinois Leathernecks in College Hoops 2K8. You can find a full explanation of this project + spoiler-free links to previous seasons here. Check out the introduction to this series from early April for full context. As a reminder, we simulate every game in this series and only control the recruiting and coaching strategies. Dynasty mode runs for 40 years.
Before we pick up with the Leathernecks at the start of Year 37, here’s a recap of everything that happened last season:
Coming off a heartbreaking loss in the Final Four, Western Illinois started the new season with a young roster featuring zero seniors. We began the year at No. 23 in the preseason polls and had a solid run in the non-conference schedule before uncharacteristically dropping two games against Summit League opponents. We rebounded to win the conference tournament and punch our ticket to the big dance.
We earned a No. 7 seed to the NCAA tournament and beat Colorado State in the first round, and UNLV in the round of 32. We then lost in the Sweet 16 to NC State to end our season.
We had no open scholarships, so didn’t land any new recruits. We did lose center Filipe Hopes early to the NBA draft after the season.
Here’s a first look at our roster for Year 37:
Tumblr media
Our goal is to tie or surpass John Wooden for the most national championships in college basketball history before the series ends after Year 40. With four seasons left, we have eight national titles to Wooden’s 10. We need to start stacking championships ASAP, and we start the new year with a team that’s good enough to win it all.
Everyone is back from last year’s team aside from center Filipe Hopes, who jumped to the NBA. With an intriguing four-man freshman class coming off their redshirts and set to join the rotation, we should have one of our deepest and most talented teams ever. We start the new year ranked No. 3 in the preseason polls.
Let’s meet the starting lineup:
PG Arvydas Hardy, 93 overall, redshirt senior: Hardy entered the program as our second-highest recruit ever (No. 12 overall), but hasn’t been able to fully live up to the hype yet despite some flashes of brilliance. Hardy is a huge lead guard at 6’4, 238 pounds, and he checks just about every box with his skill set. He’s blessed with a team-best 90 rating in three-point shooting, and he has A grades in passing and ball handling. Hardy’s only major weakness is that he’s often a little too passive offensively. We need to him to tap into his takeover scoring ability if we want to have a deep tournament run. Projected top pick out of Mesa, AZ with C- potential.
SG Augustine Bruthelieus, 92 overall, redshirt junior: Bruuuu is a tough 6’5 guard who can man either backcourt spot. While he’s not exactly a knockdown three-point shooter (75 rating), Bru plays a physical brand of basketball by getting into the paint on offense and forcing turnovers on defense. He has A- ratings in passing and handling for a shooting guard, as well as B+ ratings in both offensive and defensive awareness. Just a solid all-around player even if he doesn’t have outlier size or a signature skill. Former No. 42 overall recruit out of San Diego with C+ potential. Projected lottery pick.
SF Reece Mascoll, 93 overall, redshirt senior: A monstrous 6’9, 260 pound wing, Mascoll can play bully ball at the rim or stretch the defense with a high 70s rating in three-point shooting. We love that he has the versatility to play either forward spot, and can project as a primary scoring option at his best. After a big sophomore year coming off the bench, Mascoll’s tournament run as a junior wasn’t as dominant as we hoped. He decided to return for his senior year despite being a projected first round pick, and now should co-headline the team with Hardy. Former No. 40 overall recruit out of Riverside, CA with C potential. Projected top pick.
PF Al Reece, 89 overall, redshirt senior: Reece has tremendous size at 7’1, 277 pounds for a natural power forward. He has the best shot blocking rating on the team (90 rating) and can slide easily to the five. Reece checks a lot of boxes for a ‘Necks big man, but there’s one thing that holds him back: he’s almost too aggressive offensively. He shouldn’t be taking more shots than Hardy, but that has happened often in stream games. We need him to be a role player rather than think he’s our star. Former No. 138 overall recruit from Glendale, AZ with C- potential.
C D.J. Foster, 82 overall, redshirt sophomore: Foster is our lowest-rated starter in years, but we have no problem with that because he’s already proven to be a solid performer in tournament games. His best attribute is his size: at 7’2, 274 pounds, he’s able to protect the paint and rebound just by standing there. He also has more offensive game than you would expect, showing off a solid mid-range jumper last year. Former No. 173 overall recruit (No. 6 center) out of Chicago with C potential.
For as stacked as our starting lineup is, our depth might be the best asset of this team. We have the potential to go seven deep off the pine with no scholarships last season and four freshmen joining the rotation coming off their redshirts.
Redshirt junior Jerald Elliott (91 overall) is a 6’6 shooting guard with a ridiculous 99 rating in speed who also has A- ratings as a passer and ball handler. Elliott is our second highest rated shooter, but his slow release — similar to that of former guard Brandon “The Musket” Price — limits him some as a shooter. If Elliott is our ‘sixth starter,’ we have a group of freshmen and sophomores behind him who give us quality depth at every position.
Redshirt sophomore Ketshner Evertsen (83 rating) is a 6’8 shooting guard who we’ve moved to small forward. He projects as an elite shooter and proved he can be instant offense when he gets hot on our tournament run last season. Cam Kateley, a 6’6 redshirt sophomore point guard, and Bernie Doyle, a 6’9 redshirt freshman shooting guard, both provide size and floor spacing potential in the backcourt. We also have redshirt freshmen Floyd Keller (6’7 wing), Oscar Frye (7-foot power forward), and Brody Munoz (6’11 center) who could see time in the rotation in March.
Recruiting
We have four open scholarships this season. Since these players will only have three years with us before the series ends, we’re thinking about targeting some JUCO guys throughout the process. After scanning the available options, we decide to offer the following players:
SG Everson Fitch out of Peoria, IL: No. 14 overall player and No. 9 at his position
SF Kory O’Donnell out of Kansas City: No. 57 overall player and 6 at his position
PG Archie Howell out of El Paso: Five-star JUCO freshman
C Daon Whithers out of Cleveland: Five-star JUCO freshman
Fitch would go down as our third highest-rated recruit ever. O’Donnell is already massive at 6’9, 250 pounds for a high school small forward. Howell and Whithers are both five-star JUCOs, with Whithers profiling as a stud and Howell looking more gettable. We’ll see how it goes.
Reminder: WE’RE NO. 3 IN THE POLLS. Let’s do this.
How did the regular season go?
After a breezy season-opening win against Creighton, we faced No. 14 Oklahoma State in our next game and lost, 85-73. There will be no pressure to go undefeated this year. A few weeks later we lost to UConn and NC State, both talented but unranked teams, that dropped us out of the polls entirely.
We rebounded with wins over Kentucky, DePaul, and Lehigh to close out the non-con slate at 8-4. Not how we wanted to start the year.
Did we go undefeated in Summit League play?
No! We lost to Fort Wayne in our very first conference game of the season. An absolute shocker.
Oh my gosh, it happened again. This time to Southern Utah:
Tumblr media
Two conference losses in each of the last two seasons, sheesh. This team was preseason No. 3!!! Are we even going to make the tournament at this point?
We won out for the rest of our regular season games and then entered the conference tournament. I am legit terrified we’re going to lay another egg and miss the dance entirely. After winning the first two games, we have a rematch with Southern Utah in the title game. They are rated as an 82 overall, which is about the highest you’ll ever see a team rated in this conference. We streamed the game here.
We won, and headed to the NCAA tournament. Man, this team doesn’t feel as good as I hoped.
Who did recruiting go?
Not well! We landed no one at the early signing deadline, and saw three of our targets commit elsewhere. The only original target we’re looking strong with is Howell, the 6’2 JUCO point guard, but he’ll still need a little more convincing in the offseason.
We’ve pivoted to big man Logan Polk, the No. 185 overall player and No. 11 center, in the front court. We also have offers out to five-star JUCO power forward Erik Stepp and four-star shooting guard Cornell Berry, who is rated No. 33 overall. Polk looks like the most likely to sign out of those three, while Berry is a swing for the fences. I figure we might be due for a little bit of good luck at some point here.
2044 NCAA tournament
We’re a No. 8 seed in the NCAA tournament, drawing MAC champion No. 9 seed Akron in the first round.
We’re rated as a 100 overall heading into the tournament at 27-6 on the year. The Zips are only rated as an 85 overall.
Before we get to the tournament run, let’s check in on the roster:
Tumblr media
I know it hasn’t been the most dominant regular season, but damn, this roster is undeniably loaded. In terms of both top-end talent and depth, I’d put this squad up as one of my best ever. The reality is it won’t be remembered that way unless we run all the way to the national championship.
Hardy and Mascoll were big-time recruits with great tools who have had flashes of greatness, but have never put it together consistently. This is their chance as seniors. Reece and Foster, at 7’1 and 7’2 respectively, give us a major size advantage on any opponent. Bru and Elliott are versatile guards who feel like they could go either way in March. I’m really excited about our bench, with a few big wings who can shoot (sophomore Ketshner Evertsen and freshmen Bernie Doyle and Floyd Keller), some more size (freshman center Brody Munoz) and plenty of lineup versatility.
This team is awesome, but so far they have the underachievers tag. Let’s see if we can shake it. As always, we’re watching a simulated game between the computer. I’m not controlling the Leathernecks.
Let’s go!

Win, 105-70. We’re rolling into the second round.
That was a straight up blow out — we were able to hit ‘sim to end’ with 13 minutes left in the game as we held at 30 point lead. This one was never in doubt.
A few takeaways: Hardy was awesome, popping off for 23 points on 7-of-8 shooting. What a great start to his final tournament run with us. It was an ideal game for Mascoll, too, hitting a couple threes and dishing out six assists. Bruthelieus was great scoring the ball, and Elliott looked solid as our backup point guard.
We only hit two three-pointers in the first half and were still up 21. That seems like a good sign.
The win sets up a game with No. 1 seed Richmond in the round of 32
There’s nothing worse than getting a No. 8 or No. 9 seed in the NCAA tournament, because it means we have to face the top seed in the round of 32. For us, that means a matchup with Richmond. I have to say, I’m shocked to see the Spiders are this good.
Richmond enters the game rated as a 98 overall. We’re a 100 overall.
It’s possible this will be our toughest game on the road to the Final Four. I guess we might as well take it on early. It’s not like we’re playing for Sweet 16 appearances over here. We need titles.
Massive game. The nerves are real. Let’s go!

Win, 111-99! We’re into the Sweet 16!
This was another ‘sim to end’ game with five minutes left, but in reality it was a lot closer than the final score would indicate. The first half was a dog fight, with Richmond using a zone defense to coax our perimeter players into taking threes. We attempted 27 threes in the first half (making 10), and 45 threes on the night (making 17). That has to be a record. Seeing as we were making them at a 37 percent clip, I was happy to let our guys keep shooting.
Bru was the biggest star, with 17 of his 22 coming in the first half. He finished 6-of-13 from three despite only being rated as a 75 in three-point shooting. That was huge, especially on a night when Arvy Hardy didn’t have it (1-of-7 shooting).
Mascoll (18 points on 6-of-12 shooting) was awesome again, and our sophomore center Foster (11 points, 11 rebounds) looked every bit of 7’2 out there. Major shout-out to Jerald Elliott as well, who helped blow this game open in the second half when we put him at point guard went with a full court press. He finished with 15 points on 6-of-7 shooting, and added a couple steals and a bunch of assists. It is an immense luxury to have a versatile guard rated in the 90s like him coming off our bench.
The win sets up a game with No. 4 seed Rhode Island in the Sweet 16
Rhode Island is rated as an 85 overall. They don’t have any super highly rated players, but it looks like they’ll have a formidable team for a stream game with a big small forward who can shoot and a couple veteran guards.
I’m starting to gain confidence in this team. We already knocked out the No. 1 seed, and I think we’ve found something with lineups that have Elliott at point guard. Let’s keep this run going. Let’s go!

Win, 94-71! We’re rolling into the Elite Eight!
Three games, three ‘sim to end’ blowouts. I had a good feeling about this one when Reece Mascoll ripped a three off the opening tip:
twitch_clip
Those good vibes wouldn’t last long: nine minutes into the game, Rhode Island was up double-figures. We took a timeout, put Elliott in at point guard, turned up the full court pressure, and before you know it we were going into the halftime break ahead by 13 points.
Elliott is really becoming a stud. He’s a great shooter (86 rating from three), but his slow release handicaps him on the wing. That’s why we’ve mostly been playing him at the one, where his size (6’6) and uber-elite speed (99 rating) is a terror. He’s really solid as a passer and decision-maker, and that’s been enough to give us a boost when he put him in for Reece as our first sub.
Look at the speed!
twitch_clip
Hardy was also really good this game with 16 points, four assists, and a couple threes. We’ve been waiting five years for Hardy to carry us, but it seems like he’s just not aggressive enough to be a superstar. Instead, he’s really solid within a team concept, hitting open threes, dropping dimes, and never forcing his own offense.
Mascoll is starting to play like a star. He finished with 16 points, five rebounds, five assists, and five steals, just an incredible performance. Also: Floyd Keller got his first real minutes and scored nine points during a key stretch. Hell yeah. We are looking good.
The win sets up a game with No. 2 seed Louisville in the Elite Eight
We have our work cut out for us if we’re going to reach the Final Four. Louisville is one of the best teams we’ve ever faced in this simulation. Yes, they’re a 100 overall, and their roster is even stronger than ours. They have five players rated in the 90s, two players rated as 89s, another rated as an 88. We showed off Louisville’s roster at the start of the video below.
I’ve never felt more pressure as a coach. We need national title No. 9 if we want to match or surpass Wooden, and I doubt we’ll have a team as good as this one again before the series ends. We need a title, and Louisville is an enormous test in the Elite Eight.

Win, 113-95. We’re going to the Final Four!
We had some technical difficulties in this one, and by the time I resolved them we were well on our way to a fourth straight ‘sim to end’ game in this tournament. It is absolutely unbelievable that we were able to blow out that Louisville team. Just a great performance by our guys.
Foster was wildly good. The 7’2 sophomore center popped off for 22 points and 12 rebounds. He can score with either hand around the basket, has a decent face-up jumper, and is just so, so big. Louisville had no answer for him:
twitch_clip
Our depth also shined again in a big way. On a night when Mascoll (10 points) wasn’t taking over, we were lucky to have 6’8 sophomore wing Ketshner Evertsen, 6’9 freshman two guard Bernie Doyle, and of course our boy Elliott get hot and help carry us.
Elliott just rules at point guard, going off for 16 points and seven assists on 6-of-7 shooting. I swear the guy never misses, and rarely makes a bad decision. Doyle (nine points) got going attacking the basket, and I really think he can be a future star. Then there’s Shner, who broke out as a freshman in the tournament last year and remains a great weapon for us off the bench:
twitch_clip
Shner finished with 18 points on 4-of-5 shooting from three. I’m telling you, the wing depth is really what makes this team stand out.
There was also a kick ass Mascoll tip-dunk during our technical difficulties that was so good I had to pause the game and figure out the stream so we could make a clip of it as a replay.
We’re feeing it right now. On to the Final Four!
The win sets up a game with No. 1 seed BYU in the Final Four
BYU has had a really solid program throughout this simulation, and this looks like one of their better teams. The Cougars enter the game rated as a 97 overall, and they play a bit better than that because they have a ton of size in the front court.
We are one win away from the chance to play for title No. 9. Let’s go!

Win, 94-88! We’ll be playing for the national championship!
There was no ‘sim to end’ in this one; instead, it came down to the final minutes. I really thought this was headed for a blowout, but a wild end to the first half set the table for the final 20 minutes. After Ketshner Evertsen hit a three with seconds remaining before halftime, BYU came down and drained a halfcourt shot at the buzzer:
twitch_clip
We were comfortably in control for most of the second half before BYU started to make its run. Up 14 with under five minutes left, BYU started making everything and suddenly we couldn’t buy a bucket. The Cougars made it a two-point game with under a minute left, but some clutch free throw shooting from Hardy iced the win. This was unquestionably the most difficult game we have had on our tournament run, and it has me thinking that a national title game win won’t come easy.
Jerald Elliot, the 6’6 junior shooting guard, was awesome again, finishing with 19 points on 8-of-11 shooting and almost exclusively playing the point for us. Our dude might be making a run at MOP if we can win it all.
twitch_clip
Evertsen — aka Shner — was also killer again, going 6-of-8 from the field and 3-of-5 from three to finish with 15 points. It is so nice to have a 6’8 natural shooting guard on the bench we can go to for a jolt of offense. The starters also played well enough, with Hardy and Mascoll each scoring 13 points and Bru putting up 12 points.
The win sets up a game with No. 2 seed UCLA in the national championship game
We beat UCLA for our second ever championship, and we’re going to have to do so again if we want title No. 9. The Bruins have a loaded roster with four players rated in the 90s.
We enter at 32-6, they enter at 31-6. They’re a 99 overall, we’re a 100 overall.
Given that we’ve stated our goal is to tie or surpass John Wooden’s record 10 championships before the series ends after Year 40, there’s a case to be made that this is the biggest game in program history. This would give us title No. 9 with three seasons left. We aren’t catching Wooden if we lose.

Win, 101-81! WESTERN ILLINOIS IS NATIONAL CHAMPIONS FOR THE NINTH TIME IN PROGRAM HISTORY!
This game was tight for the first 33 minutes or so, but our SECOND HALF TEAM came through when it counted. In fitting fashion, it was a true team effort with five players scoring in a double-figures and bench player being named MOP.
Jerald Elliott finished his amazing tournament by putting up 16 points, seven assists, five steals, and three blocks in the natty on 7-of-8 shooting from the field. He was deservedly named MOP. Elliott came into this season with a nice rating but major question marks about what role he would play. It turns out he was the point guard we needed all along, and that let the rest of the team fall into place.
twitch_clip
It was also great to see Hardy have such a good title game performance. He finished with 18 points on 6-of-8 shooting to go along with three assists and just one turnover. It was a quintessential Arvy Hardy effort: he picked his spots and was efficient with every shot attempt. I’m going to say he lived up to the hype as our second highest rated recruit ever.
We needed this one:
twitch_clip
And then there was Bru. We once recruited Bruthelieus and Elliott together as shooting guards in the same class, and that couldn’t have worked out any better. Bru finished with a game-high 23 points on 7-of-13 shooting and might have pulled a full DiVincenzo by playing his way into the NBA draft.
This three off a pin-down screen was the dagger.
twitch_clip
Reece Mascoll also went out as a champion in his last game. While he never became a monster scorer like Jitim Dupree, Skip Clemmons, and Nic Cummings before him, he was one of the best players on this team the last three years and an invaluable contributor to this championship. His ability to play either the three or the fourth was an incredible dimension for us that we won’t have next year.
He also had a big dunk, if you’re into big dunks.
twitch_clip
One last shout-out to Hardy for using his final game in a ‘Necks uniform to .... take our first ever charge!?! I honestly can’t remember this happening before.
twitch_clip
From the moment we brought in the Hardy-Mascoll-Reece-Hopes group that was named the fifth best recruiting class in the country, we always thought their senior year would be our moment. While all of those guys were great, I think I’ll instead remember this team for having so much versatility and such great depth.
Pretty much everyone played two different positions for us on our run. We had size, we had shooting, we had size that could shoot. If this wasn’t our best team ever, I really do think it’s damn close.
Let’s see that hometown newspaper. Print lives in 2044!
Tumblr media
It feels so good to win national championship No. 9. We’re one behind John Wooden with three seasons to go. All we wanted was a legit chance to match or surpass him, and now we have it.
So: let’s see who’s coming back next year.
Offseason
Western Illinois is your national champion. Feels great to say.
Hardy, Mascoll, and Reece all get drafted. We did lose one other player to the NBA: Augustine Bruthelieus. The man went out on top, having the best game of his career in the national title. Mad respect.
My record stands at 1,075-205.
I get offered jobs by NC State, Arizona, Indiana, and Arkansas, but turn them all down.
We lose an assistant and hire someone new with B- ratings across the board.
Recruiting
So just a reminder: recruiting isn’t going too well. We have four open scholarships and no one who is ready to accept.
The player we’re closest with is five-star JUCO point guard Archie Howel. After the second week of the spring signing period, he becomes our first recruit:
Tumblr media
Howel is a 6’2 guard out of El Paso who we identified as gettable early in the process. He won’t redshirt and will be a senior in Year 40 because he’s entering school as a sophomore. The only position we didn’t recruit for two years ago was point guard (remember, we had no open scholarships last year), so filling this position was crucial. We’ve had a couple good JUCO point guards over the years in Damon Hendriks and Diondre Haynes, so hopefully he can be the next one.
We also badly need a center and have been chasing Logan Polk since we lost our initial target. A week later, he becomes our second commit:
Tumblr media
Polk is rated as the No. 11 center in his class, and the No. 185 overall player. His AAU numbers are incredible: 17.1 points, 12.6 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks per game. He’s ranked a tad bit lower than the guys we usually get at his position, but he should be a solid three-year big for us before the series ends.
We have two more open scholarships, but our two targets — four-star shooting guard Cornell Berry and five-star JUCO Erek Stepp — both sign elsewhere. We need a big guard and wing, but we also just have to take what we can get. We decide to offer the top international player, 6’2 point guard Christano Ngoundu out of Cameroon, because he projects as the top player available. On the last week, he signs with us.
Tumblr media
Our last scholarship is offered to 6’8 small forward Ivan Adler out of Bellflower, CA. He’s only rated No. 192 overall, but his AAU stats were awesome — 13.3 points per game on 44 percent three-point shooting — and we love his size. We were his only offer going into the final week, but unfortunately he did not commit. We’re going to have to roll over that scholarship to next year.
Now it’s time to set next year’s schedule:
@ Richmond, Maui Invitational, Vanderbilt, @ Providence, @ Duke, Northwestern, @ Penn State, Saint Louis
Year 38
Here’s a first look at our roster for Year 38:
Tumblr media
Two thoughts:
This team has a chance to be very good
The lineups we play in the regular season will not be the same ones I’m playing in tournament games as we try to win national championship No. 10
None of the freshmen are redshirting. Here’s what they came in:
Christano Ngoundu, 77 overall, B potential: I was hesitant to offer Ngoundu because oftentimes international recruits take five years to get good, but I’m so glad I did because he’s easily our best get. The 6’2 guard should get backup point guard minutes from the jump.
Logan Polk, 76 overall, C potential: Probably about as good as we could have reasonably hoped for given that he was only ranked No. 11 at the position. He’ll likely earn spot minutes as our second big man off the bench.
Archie Howel, 71 overall, C- potential: This one hurts, but he does he have a 75 rating in three-point shooting, so maybe he can be a depth piece and a weapon in tournament time if nothing else.
We’ll have three scholarships to recruit for this year.
We’re going to be streaming Year 38 on Sunday, May 2 at 8 p.m. ET on my Twitch channel. We’ll be recruiting and simming through our regular season, and then going into the tournament. If we have a long tournament run and can’t complete the season in one night, we’ll finish out the tournament run on Wednesday, May 5 at 8 p.m. ET on my Twitch.

Since we've calmed down after the last Splatfest, I can finally bitch about some Shiver fans' takes.
My God she did NOT try to "change the subject and try to make Frye comfortable".
Shiver SUCKS. She's greedy, she brags when she wins, she'll say anything she has to to get vote. That's WHY SHE'S FUN! Every member of Deep Cut Kinda Sucks. That is the point!
Big Man does get a little carried away and sometimes gets worked up (though he's still being nice) during the fests announcements. Frye barely even tries to make an argument (her job!) because she's too busy being silly.
None of them give a damn about the results. They're here to party and have fun. Sure, they like to win but they don't care if they lose. Almost every single time, the winner says something along the lines of "all three options are nice though" or "let's do all three!"
Shiver did exactly what she did for the Nessie vs Aliens vs Bigfoot festival: lie her ass off. This time, instead of lying about seeing Nessie, she pretended that her choice was better because she legit doesn't know how to do a fist bump. It's silly! It's endearing! She's a loser! Girlfailure! She doesn't care if it's embarrassing, she came clean because it's no big deal and she won! She won eight fucking times in a row, she gets to brag if she pleases.
It's fine for your fav to not be perfect. You don't need to go out of your way to mischaracterize an entire dialogue because you need to defend her from the "haters". And quite frankly, wouldn't it be worse if she was babying the other members (or singling Frye out) because they didn't win for months? Don't you think it would be condescending? Her lines were implied to be prewritten. None of them have a problem with what they have to say. They might even write them themselves for all we know!
Deep Cut are all good friends. That's why they don't give a single flying into space fuck about who wins, the things said to win, or the things said after they won.
And, finally, ofc it also goes for Frye and Big Man fans. Neither care if they lose. Frye doesn't even try (ie: she had less than 10% of the bite for Team Fame and had no reaction, especially when she could have made great arguments for it since it logically beat the other two teams (sorry for breaking Splatfest law guys, it needed to be said)), Big Man is just happy to be there (though he probably really wanted Love to win... But alas capitalism triumphs all). I'd LOVE it if Nintendo finally wrote them some spicy dialogue instead of the bland and boring "eh gg" we've been getting for over a year. I'd LOVE the acknowledgement that Frye is incredibly unpopular and has gotten brutal loses. They did it in Splat1 and 2. I want my girl to go on a rampage or for Big Man to impose himself. But it's not that big of a deal. We ain't getting angst. Deep Cut is too busy sharing their one braincell to decide what meal they're gonna have to care.
It's not that deep. It doesn't matter in the end. What fucking matter iS TO STOP KILLING YOUR TEAMMATES DURING TRICOLOR WHY THE HELL ARE YOU SHOOTING AT ME WE ARE IN THIS TOGETHER—

A/N: So this is the second angst fic for Jacob and I really need to stop making angst fics for my sweet English muffin holy shit.
You can feel Evie and Henry watching you every time you walk to the Assassination Wall. Simply waiting for you to slash the board in anger with your hidden blade, retribution flowing through your veins. But you don’t, instead you reign your temper in as you stare at Crawford Starrick’s face with his inner circle directly below him.
‘Starrick isn’t my main problem. It’s Evie and Henry’s.’ You say to yourself before realizing you forgot someone. ‘And Jacob’s too. However, he prefers an alternative method to his sister and her potential lover.’
Somehow, it’s like you can hear what they truly think of you despite saying nothing. It was written across their faces in a thick but clean scrawl that screamed distrustful, unpredictable, borderline rogue.
‘I’ll never win back their trust. Not after seeing what I did to that group of Blighters.’ You think while playing with your fingers. ‘All because of my damn craving to avenge my family.’
“Your thoughts could be as loud as my darling sister.” A voice remarks and you suppress the urge to give a startled reaction when you see Jacob’s smirking face right in front of yours.
“I didn’t realize you could hear thoughts, Jacob.” You reply and the audible slam of the car door fully dissipates the cloud hovering over your brain.
“It’s one of my many talents, love.” Jacob responds before kissing you lightly and a rare giggle emerges from your throat as you lean for another kiss. This time, the moment stays longer while arousal began to stir in your stomach. You pull away from Jacob’s eager grip on your waist as you look out the window where the sun had already begun to set.
“I have something to take care of tonight, Jacob. Can you wait for me until then?” You ask coyly and Jacob’s smirk returns back at full force.
“As long as you come back to me, Y/N.” He tells you and quickly presses a fleeting kiss to your cheek before exiting, leaving you by yourself while you take out a black journal from your coat pocket. You open the cover to see an entire page of names all crossed out except for one.
‘Joseph Crowley. A man as craven as his comrades.’ A voice sneers in the corner of your mind and nothing else speaks louder than the rush of adrenaline that courses through your body as you vault off the train.
You muss your hair slightly as you enter a rowdy bar in the middle of Devil’s Acre while unbuttoning a few clasps on your blouse. Almost immediately, you spot Joseph laughing along with other Blighters that you recognize from scouting out the borough of Southwark.
He catches you staring and grins wolfishly before abandoning his friends in lieu of you.
“And who are you, miss?” Joseph leers as you smile and bat your eyelashes at him.
“Sophie.” You answer slyly while you lean over to expose your chest even more. Joseph’s eyes greedily follow as you inch closer and closer to his face.
“Well then, miss Sophie, perhaps we can get to know each other in private away from everyone else here tonight.” He offers and you can smell the beer all over his body.
‘He can’t even be subtle about it, the sex-depraved man.’ You scowl to yourself but you force your smile to be brighter as you lead him out into the closed alley behind the pub. Joseph’s hands wander around your upper back as you latch your hands around a wooden rod lying around and with a quick swipe, the only thing you feel is Joseph’s body draped across your feet like an overweight cat.
A harsh slap to the face wakes Joseph up immediately while you glare at the man cowering in front of you as you adjust the cane sword in your hand.
“Please, Miss. I don’t know who you are, but I swear I’ll leave London on the next boat out. Just don’t touch a hair on my head or draw any blood. Please.” He begs and you almost lower the cane slightly before tightening your grip again.
“What makes you so sure that you aren’t giving me an empty promise? And how will I know that if you leave London, you will never return?” You hiss.
“Who sent you? Those wretched Frye twins? B-because of what us Blighters did in Lambeth?” Joseph stammers as you begin to swing the cane sword behind your head.
“No. I’m here because you killed my family all those years ago. We promised you that we wouldn’t say a word and you and your little shits murdered them anyways.  All because of Starrick.” You snarl, “Besides how will I know that you won’t crawling into another Crawford Starrick in a foreign country? You signed your life away the minute you ran into Templar arms.“ You smash the cane sword with all your might at Joseph Crowley’s neck. The beak of the eagle pommel pierced his carotid and blood splashed in every direction. You wipe off the blood from your face and weapon and lean down to close his eyes. As you straighten your back again, you whisper, "And my name is Y/N.”
You hear heavy boots make their way towards you as you hold a scotch in one hand while you sheath your cane sword in the other.
‘He knows. He knows what you did. He knows what you are.’ A voice whispers in your mind and you brush it off irritably while rubbing your temples. “Come to lecture me about subtlety, Mr. Frye?” You ask lowly with a sarcastic undertone. He doesn’t have to say anything, even the way he sighs tells you enough. “You know I won’t say anything, love.” Jacob replies and you take his hand as you grimace. “I’ll be gone by morning.” You reply as you finish your drink and Jacob forcibly removes his hand from yours.
‘So this is what heartbreak feels like.’ You lament silently. The slowly growing cracks in your heart, a certain disorientation that was violent enough to make your head spin.
“Evie and Greenie will find out.” Jacob comments. You incline your head to your shoulder as you fiddle with the straps of your hidden blade and fasten your cane sword to your back. “Let her. I’ll be long gone.” You tell him firmly. A tense silence falls between the two of you as Jacob stares straight at you, straight into your soul.
“Blighters murdered your loved ones in cold blood, I assume.” Jacob remarks as he fixes himself a drink. “I’ve seen harsher forms of retribution before than a cane.”
He takes a good portion of rum and swallows aloud before setting it down with a slam.
“Go. Leave London forever, before someone inflicts the same treatment you gave that Blighter to you.” He says in a hushed tone and you recognize that voice. The one he only reserved for people he loathed.
‘A love lost and vengeance gained. Has your addiction for ‘justice’ been appeased yet? Or will Jacob be your next victim?’ The voice asks and you ignore it in lieu of giving Jacob a brief kiss on his cheek like the one he gave you before you open the train car and leap into the cool London night.

The Finals: The Preview: Cleveland vs. Golden State: The Threetening
Okay y'all, we're FINALly (sorry about that I couldn't resist) here. After 2,460 regular season games and just about two and a half months of playoffs we now have our two combatants that will be battling it out for basketball supremacy. Annnnnnd it's the same two combatants that have battled the previous two championships. Don't worry, I'm not one of those silly blowhards that will try to convince you that having the same two teams meet for a third consecutive Finals is a bad thing although I will say that I find it ironic that the same folks that are pushing this line of thought grew up romanticizing the Celtics vs. Lakers rivalry of the 80s. Anyway, there I go again getting sidetracked. In all honesty, what more can you ask for? The best basketball player on the planet going against a team stacked with two former MVPs and one of the best defenders in the game. So please excuse me if I'm not willing to buy into the potentially boring Finals talk.
Cleveland and Golden State took almost identical paths to get here. Cleveland was a bad LeBron game from completely sweeping the East as they ran through Indiana and Toronto in the first two rounds unscathed before dropping game 3 in the Eastern Conference Finals before closing Boston out. Golden State caught the break of a lifetime (ew, poor taste?) in San Antonio losing arguably their top two guys in Kawhi Leonard in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals in addition to Tony Parker who had been out of the playoffs since Game 2 against Houston in the previous round. This made them a lock to dispatch the Spurs after first and second round sweeps of Portland and Utah respectively. There are some quality opponents here people. Here's the thing though, both the Cavs and Dubs are playing at the top of their games and so high above everyone else that it made their already inadequate opposition look downright incompetent. Folks, don't listen to the hype, this is gonna be a blast of a series.
Cavs will win if they……….
Can get LeBron to not only repeat his performance from last year’s Finals but surpass it. This is by no means downplaying his 30-11-9 line he put up in the series last year (especially those final three games) but facing a team hellbent on revenge armed with…….oh I guess you can say a little extra firepower he's going to have to in the words of a well known TV chef kick it up a notch. And it's not to say he can't, As I stated earlier he's torn through the East throughout the playoffs averaging 32-8-7 shooting 56% from the floor and 42% beyond the arc. If he can shoot like this and more or less control the pace of the game we may be in for one of if not the finest performance in Finals history. I know, blasphemy but as a huge MJ fan and a guy that romanticizes that era and particularly the era before his rise game just has to recognize game (sorry JB). His ability to read the floor and when to flip the dominate or facilitate switch will be the very thing that all of Cleveland's success will be built on. Hey, but we all know that you can't win a championship completely on the back of one person, right?
So this is where the play (most importantly the shot making ability) of the rest of the Cavs comes so heavily into play. After struggling with his efficiency in the first two rounds Kyrie Irving got back on track in the ECF reminding folks that he's a closer too he comes in averaging 24 points and 6 assists on 46% shooting and a decent 35% from deep. Kevin Love has quite possibly been the most consistent Cav next to Lebron putting up 17 and 10 per contest while nailing almost half of his threes. Tristan “TrashGawd” Thompson has been well…….effective averaging almost a double double and has improved his free throw shooting making him slightly less of a liability late in games when the Cavs will need someone in the middle.
After that, it's all about dudes hitting shots. Luckily, this has been far from a problem for them especially on the bench. J.R. Smith, Iman Shumpert, Kyle Korver, Channing Frye and Deron Williams have all hit well above 40% of their triple during this offseason. However, this is the part where I have to mention that it'll be a bit harder to accomplish this go around. Also, the Finals has to be a time were you shore up any weaknesses you may have or at least try to gameplan around them. With that said it hard to believe Cleveland has a chance in this if they can't make a huge leap on defense. You know, because the team they're facing? Yeah, they can kinda shoot the rock too. This rarely has presented a true issue for them as they have been so damned good at simply outscoring their opponents up until now. Excuse me for stating the obvious but that ain't gonna work here. An emphasis must be placed on stopping Golden State here. Either by scheme (most likely) or by brute force (least likely) they have to get this done because a failure to do so not only jeopardizes their ability to repeat as champs it may result in this getting ugly.
Warriors will win if they……….
Will continue to play as confident, controlled and cohesive as they have most of the season and completely throughout the playoffs. Normally this would be where I state where (or should I say who) this would start and end with. But here's the thing about the Dubs, they have three guys who can take the reigns while you run yourself silly trying to stop the bleeding from all the daggers being hurled into your chest. So, let's play a game of Pick! Your! Poison! First up we have Stephen Curry, who you may recognize as a 2-time back to back MVP. During this postseason Mr. Curry is averaging 28 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists while currently being apart of the ever so coveted 50-40-90 club with his shooting splits of 50-43-90. Known to many as the baby faced assassin, when he gets rolling he can absolutely eff your night up! Second we have a NEW edition to the group but please don't mistake that for a lack of ability to obliterate you team at a moment's notice. Kevin Durant comes to the Bay Area after a very celebrated stint in Oklahoma City (sorry Celly) where he was the recipient of an MVP himself. He's checking into the Finals clocking a line of 25-8-4 while within sniffing distance of the club that Mr. Curry is currently apart of with splits of 55-42-87. Mr. Durant is arguably the most lethal all-around scorer in the league and with his long 6'9” frame he can make scoring on him equally as difficult as it is to stop him from scoring. Last but not least we have Draymond Green, who boasts the most impressive all-around game not only on this stacked squad arguably in the entire league. A defensive juggernaut with a sweet shot Mr. Green will go heads up with the Cavs averaging 14-9-7 with a pair of steals and blocks. And about that sweet shooting Mr. Green's shooting splits for the playoffs has been 50% from the floor and 47% from deep. So what's it gonna be? Door 1, 2 or 3? Either way thanks for playing Pick! Your! Poison! For you are fucked!
Yeah, pretty rough isn't it? Now look back on those numbers and factor in that two of these series were against teams that boasted top 5 defenses (okay, I know the Kawhi thing definitely slowed the Spurs down but their defense is still pretty gotdamn good). And we haven't even started to talk about the cadre of role guys that is one of the only groups in the league that can match up with Cleveland's second unit on both sides of the ball. I definitely hate to mention him here but Klay Thompson despite struggling mightily on the offensive side of the ball has been an ace defender throughout the playoffs for the Dubs. Andre Iguodala, while slowing a bit is still their best bench defender and is still effective on that end for extended minutes as he is playing 25 per night in the postseason. Also still providing quality minutes off the bench is David West averaging 4-3-3 and Shaun Livingston chipping in 4-3-2. But what's probably the biggest boon for them off the bench has been the production of the newer guys. Ian Clark has wowed not only me but many with his play of late. His 8 points per night and 40% from deep has provided a much needed spark while the Dubs spell their main guys. Patrick McCaw is not to be left out here either. The rookie has been great for them as he has been good for 5 points per night and nearly 40% from deep. However, the young McCaw has especially been recognized for his defensive prowess. And last but not least we have JaVale McGee. Despite still being pretty lunk headed and lost at times it would appear the his rehabilitation project has been quite the success. When Zaza Pachulia isn't lurching around and doing goon stuff McGee has provided a more mobile and better offensive option in the post as he's tallied 7 points per night on a whopping 74% from the floor.
So this is where we get real and talk about Golden State's need to nail all of the intangibles. That they can't afford to look aloof, stunned then overwhelmed which was the tenor of the final half of last year's series with Cleveland. And there is the high probability that chasing Cleveland off of the three point line and putting in so much work at the rim to defend them will surely tire the Dubs' main guys possibly making them a little less effective on the offensive end. They have the bodies for sure but they will need to be very deliberate in how and who they choose to defend James. And for heaven's sake try to find the perfect balance for Draymond Green to be the scenery chewing irritant that he's the best as opposed to the easily frustrated dude that catch an ejection or worse a suspension that may end up costing them the series. But it's not like anything like that has ever happened before. My point is, last year's result was almost as much mental as it was physical. And this is not to that Golden State is not a mentally tough team, all I'm saying is that if they can completely win it on the court they should.
H.B. says…………..Warriors in 6

dreamwidth update: Mobile Game Monday!
we're back at it: Mobile Game Monday! Let's talk phone games!
FFRK Having become overly frustrated with the Type-0 Apoc+ fight - the fuck was that damage??? - I let the event pass incomplete, because I do not have time for that shit. I had a slow week in RK so I still have to clear the Dimensions event (0/7), the III event (0/17), the 3rd anniv (0/10), and the new CT -- while also making my way through the Torments before the end of June (ideally before the end of May, since the Cid Missions are going away!!!!!!). Luckily a lot of the events will be auto-battle I can do at my desk.
I picked up new toys for Yuffie, Cloud, and Zack on the half price VII banner, so I'll need to dive Yuffie and hone up the 5* water ninja skills (damn u Dark Orbs) because I now have her Glint and her Arcane which is apparently a water gamechanger combo. Other hones I'm focusing on ATM are the new Heavy Combat abilities, because I have Cinque's USB, which uses them to great effect; and the earth-based Knight abilities, which similarly work with Dorgann's USB. Both of these can step up my physical earth team A-Game (magic earth team is covered solely by Maria, who is a goddamned beastmachine).
All of that being said, I really need to focus on the Torments. My normal strategy is to bring healer with BSB, at least 2 BSBs with AOE to make it through the trash rounds, at least 1 powerhouse person who just attacks the whole way and then unloads, and a buff/debuff package. (Sometimes these overlap). That being said, sometimes I think I go through the trash "too easily" and instead I should just spend more time on them building gauge to make whatever boss is at the end that much easier. ugh. UGH! I will share results.
FFBE I have declared myself done farming the MK event, which has freed up my stamina; I'm probably going to focus on catching up with story while it's half-price. I'm happy to see the story event mainly because I need crystals very badly - I need to farm crystals and EXP both, because I have decent pulls I'm still leveling (Wilhelm, Mystea, and Ashe #2) and enhancements I want (Fryevia, Olive).
Since I'm hoping to trip over the 100% moogle from the story for Frye ;), I'm working on TM farming some other weapons: Drace's sword, Excalibur, Robbin Hood's axe.
Trying to decide on a power party to maybe start tackling the harder dungeons (lollllll@self): I have Ayaka, Wilhelm and/or Mystea can tank, and I have Ramza and Roy for buffs. I guess my best bet would be DW chainers, either my two Ashes or the Agrias/Oldmandeau duo, but I gotta work on gearing everybody. I did get Emperor's rod so that's a nice tool.
Love Nikki farming suuuuits~~~ doo doo doot. I have to catch up on Princess levels to farm some of the items I need, and I'm trying to do it without using my profile at lninfo to tell me how to win. The White Queen outfit up now looks pretty cool, so I'm trying to farm that out in time -- which means going back to earlier stages where I didn't quite know what I was doing yet and skipped the bonus stages. Gotta get those Ss!
I went in for 3 of the band suits; wasn't worth going for them all, but I thoroughly enjoy the pieces.
How about y'all? What am I missing this week in mobile game world?

Ordinary Day
A calm and peaceful day on planet Mira...
Ordinary Day
New Los Angeles was positively shining this morning. Wonderful clear weather, light streaming into the Habitat Unit from above. A more comfortable day than this one seemed impossible.
Kruse smiled at the peaceful surroundings as he headed towards the East Gate. Jaynix and Elma were out in Primordia doing some early morning sparring. A routine Jaynix established long ago and always adhered to. He’s watched a few of their spars and it is never boring.
However, as he reached the spot they’d indicated, he found the two not fighting but lying on the grass looking up at the sky.
“Hey. Shouldn’t you two be causing each other bodily harm?”
Jaynix turned her head to see Kruse coming and smiled.
“We were but…it’s just such a nice day!”
Elma nodded.
“She’s right…we didn’t want to spend too much time working up a sweat, not when the day is like this.”
Kruse turned to look out over Primordia. Seeing Indigens roaming about, the sun keeping him warm, a very comfortable warmth. A breeze came by causing Kruse to sigh in relief.
“Wow. Yeah. I’m sure we’ve had some good days before but this one is just…so calm.”
Jaynix nodded.
“I think this is what a normal day should be like. By all accounts the weather and everything is relatively normal but…Mira is anything but normal.”
Kruse chuckled, thinking back to some of his first trips across the planet. The weather changing constantly from one type of storm to another.
“Truer words, Jaynix.”
Jaynix closed her eyes, Kruse noting her even breathing. No doubt she was on her way to a quick nap. She rarely took those kinds of things but if she’s in a comfortable enough state to do so…go for it.
Moving over, Kruse placed himself down onto the grass next to Elma. She looked at him and smiled.
“Hey.”
“Hey yourself…got any work today?”
“Luckily I didn’t take on any tasks after completing yesterday’s backlog. I was considering stopping by Mission Control after this but…”
Kruse smirked “You don’t want to?”
“No. Which is strange. I’m always set to work. Being a BLADE is a huge part of me yet…this comfort I feel…it’s only made warmer by Jaynix’s presence…and yours too, of course.”
Kruse laughed “Of course. Good to know I’m number two on your list.”
Elma joined him in laughing before realizing something.
“Jaynix. Didn’t you say you were heading to Oblivia again?”
Jaynix perked up.
“Hm? Oh. No…well, sort of. I’m meeting Ga Buidhe at the entrance to Oblivia then we’re going to Noctilum. We’re having another task competition.”
Kruse shook his head “Of course you are. Who won the last one again?”
Jaynix thought back.
“That’s odd…I can’t really recall…ah well. When we meet, I’ll ask her. She’s always got this stuff in her head.”
Kruse nodded “I’m certain she has the sparring wins between her and I still logged away.”
“81 to 74 with her thoroughly kicking your ass.”
“I didn’t say I wanted to know what it was.”
Jaynix and Elma laughed as Kruse let out a heavy sigh. As they apologized to him, he allowed a smile to come to his face. This was a good day.
Back at the barracks, Jaynix decided to bake some cookies. She was in the mood for something sweet and everyone benefitted. She had a habit of making…quite a few to say the least.
“Damn Jaybird. That smells incredible!”
“They’re cookies, Frye. What did you expect?”
“Pffft. I know cookies smell great Irina, I was just complementing our mutual friend on her baking skills. You could stand to do the same.”
Irina rolled her eyes at Frye’s huge, toothy grin.
“Just wait till you taste em you two!”
Jaynix called out as she continued looking into the oven. They were almost ready.
“Ey. Jaybird. Where is Lin and that talking potato?”
“Lin is with Alexa. They have a very important Outfitter task to attend to. They should be back in a few hours. As for the potato? I don’t know. I kicked him pretty far. Probably landed in Sylvalum.”
Frye blinked a few times before bursting out laughing.
“Great joke!”
Jaynix turned to face him, showing him her steely gaze. Then she smiled and turned back around to open the oven and take the cookie tray out.
Frye leaned closer to Irina “Was it a joke? I honestly can’t tell.”
Irina shrugged “I’m not telling. Figure it out.”
As Jaynix approached the table, the barracks door opened. Elma, Kruse and Gwin walking in. Frye could only groan.
“Seriously? I was about to down half of these. You guys have the worst timing.”
Irina chuckled.
“I don’t know Frye. Looks more like they have perfect timing.”
Jaynix passed the cookies out before addressing the newcomers.
“So! What had you guys out and about?”
Gwin scratched the back of his head.
“I uh…I’d rather not say. I mean, it’s such a great day.”
Jaynix sighed, sitting down last.
“Even good days aren’t safe from…things…is it serious, Elma? Kruse?”
The two looked at each other with Elma speaking.
“Yes. But it can wait. We honestly can’t do anything about it right now.”
Kruse nodded before gesturing at the cookies.
“So, how about we cut the gloom and have a good time?”
“MILK!”
Jaynix shot off her seat as Frye shoved two cookies into his mouth, all the while attempting to say.
“Who needs milk?”
Jaynix opened her eyes, finding herself laying on the couch in the barracks, Abyssion sleeping on her. She looked around the barracks feeling a bit…odd. Her eyes finally found Kruse, sitting down with a glass of water, looking rather intently at his comm device.
“Hey, Bro. What’s up?”
“Hm? Oh. Sis. Didn’t want to disturb you.”
“How long was I out?”
There was silence as she petted Abyssion, she expected an answer but looking back at Kruse she saw him once again absorbed into his comm device.
“Bro. You alright?”
Not receiving an answer, Jaynix got up, Abyssion standing and directing a small complaint at her. Shrugging at the cat she approached Kruse and put a hand on his shoulder.
“This day has been goin’ swell…what happened?”
“Don’t worry about it.”
Standing he put the comm device away before turning to Jaynix.
“By the way…I seem to recall you were going to meet with some of your friends in the Residential District.”
Jaynix narrowed her eyes, trying to recall who when it just all came back. Jumping in shock she ran to her room to pick a few things up.
“How could I forget!? Brilliant time to conk out!”
Thanking Kruse she exited the barracks, her brother laughing as Abyssion looked around, confused.
Deliverance Park found Jaynix and her Prone friend, Thea Falsaxum dancing together. Jaynix couldn’t help but smile as Thea once again told her she was doing extraordinarily well.
Standing close by was Erio, she was the one who wanted this get together to learn more about dancing and art forms in general.
Dance coming to an end, both women bowed to each other as Erio brought her hands up and clapped once. After a few moments she did it again.
“This is correct…right?”
Jaynix nodded “Yes. That is how you clap.”
“I must say Jaynix, you picked up on our traditional Prone dances so quickly…you’re very clearly devoted to dancing, much more than I ever imagined.”
Jaynix bowed to Thea.
“Wouldn’t matter how devoted I am without a good teacher.”
The pair moved over to Erio, all three sitting down with the Definian in disguise asking.
“How many teachers have you had?”
Jaynix thought for a bit.
“Three. Thea, my commanding officer Hideo Kumon and Mari Atlas…well…she wasn’t really a teacher but I saw her dance once at the academy and I like to think she inspired me to choose dancing as one of my activities when I joined the 3rd Soldier Unit.”
The other two women nodded with Thea asking.
“Was this Mari famous?”
“She was getting there…after what happened to Earth though I really don’t know where she ended up.”
Jaynix shook her head.
“But no use getting down about it! This is a day I refuse to cast a shadow over.”
Thea chuckled as Erio looked up to the sky.
“It’s strange…it’s still so early yet I feel like…”
“Throwing yourself on the grass and falling asleep?”
Erio looked over to Jaynix who smiled at her.
“Yeah. I’ve had that feeling a lot today. Lotta naps. Usually I wake up exhausted but…”
Jaynix laughed a bit before realizing something strange.
“Naps? I don’t…have I been sleeping at multiple times throughout the day?”
Erio and Thea noticed Jaynix’s deep thought, whatever was troubling her was doing so very well.
“Jaynix. Are you alright?”
Jaynix looked up at Thea and nodded.
“Y-yeah. Truth be told I tend to avoid sleeping so…the fact that I’ve taken naps without a second thought is pretty wild. In a good way.”
Jaynix watched as Erio fell back on the grass and looked up at the sky.
“Hmm…this is comfortable.”
Jaynix and Thea glanced at each other before doing the same.
In the Commercial District, Jaynix sat at a table, looking at her friend’s comm device.
“Wow. You put those missions away like nobody’s business!”
Jaynix couldn’t help but whistle, obviously impressed by Mia’s list of completed tasks. The Jr. BLADE blushing as she spoke up.
“W-well…I still don’t have much on you. Your record is pretty unbreakable.”
Jaynix looked away from the comm device and at Mia.
“Don’t worry about it. As long as you put in the work you want to put in…that’s all that matters. Seriously though Mia, you’ve been on a roll. It’s hard to believe there was a time when you weren’t a BLADE.”
Mia giggled, putting her comm device away.
“Have you heard all of my misadventures back when I was trying to make a name for myself?”
“You mean all the times Kruse had to bail you out?”
Mia nodded, her smile never wavering.
“Yeah. I owe him a lot…at least I did. Now he insists we’re square since we’re both BLADEs. Whenever he taps me for a mission though…it’s just so great to work with Chief out in the field.”
“Awww, you got a little crush on him?”
Mia’s cheeks were always glowing, but in this moment they flared up as she shook her head.
“W-what are you talking about? Don’t say things like that!”
Jaynix could only laugh as Mia turned away and pouted.
“I’m sorry. My bad…any other plans for today, Mia?”
“No…I’ve done more than enough. Think it’s time to head back home for a bit. Relax. It’s a great day.”
Standing from their table, the pair began walking.
“What about you Jaynix? Plans?”
As they walked, Jaynix brought a hand to her chin.
“I feel like I should have some plans…or one at least…I don’t though…”
Mia shrugged.
“It’s a good change of pace for you, I think. Right?”
“Yeah. It is.”
Jaynix and Mia shared a smile before they continued on their way.
“Oi! Red!”
Looking up, Jaynix blinked a few times, trying to find the source of the very familiar voice.
“Red? I’m right here.”
Focusing back she found the person right in front of her, eyes traveling up the body before her, they found the narrow, purple eyes.
“Hey, Sharon. Whatcha need?”
“I need my ringer to be up and about.”
Standing, Jaynix let out a yawn.
“What’s doin?”
“Well. I just picked up a few bets from a couple of suckers on some missions. It’s a race. They have three, I took on five. With the right partner, I’ve got this in the bag.”
Jaynix stretched, looking around the Administrative District.
“Does this day feel like it’s just…flowing by?”
Sharon gave Jaynix a strange…perplexed look. It was something no one else would ever see on Sharon’s face, one of the few things she only ever showed Jaynix and it never ceased to make Jaynix smile.
Sharon frowned as a few giggles escaped from the red haired Interceptor.
“Did you just say that to get a reaction out of me? Knock it off, Red.”
“Sorry. I forget not to get too deep with you.”
Sharon sighed, punching Jaynix’s shoulder.
“I’ll take your spaceyness as a no, Red. I’ll find someone else.”
“Sorry, Sharon. This day hasn’t been leaving me in the mood to do much. Next time.”
Sharon continued walking away, without turning around she brought one of her hands up to give a small wave.
Night fell on New Los Angeles, Jaynix found herself heading back to the barracks, whistling along the way. In her own thoughts she wanted desperately for this day to not be a one-time thing. That the future held more come and ordinary days.
Entering the barracks, she found Elma rushing out to see her.
“Kruse?”
“Huh? No. It’s me.”
Elma sighed, Jaynix finally realizing that Elma had an almost panicked tone in her voice.
“Is something wrong?”
“Don’t worry about it, Jaynix.”
As Elma returned to her seat, Jaynix followed.
“Kruse was saying the same thing about something earlier. I know you guys just care about me a lot and that’s why you choose to be careful about what you tell me…but I’m strong. I’m still here. I can take it.”
Elma nodded.
“I’m sorry Jaynix. You’re right…this day just…it’s had you glowing all day. A rare energy you never seem to have…”
Jaynix smiled, placing a hand on Elma’s shoulder.
“I love that you and Kruse care about me that much…but if something is wrong with my Brother, I have to know.”
Elma let out a long sigh before bringing up her comm device and sending the information to Jaynix, who looked at it on her own device.
“There were a lot of dead BLADEs and Indigens found out in Primordia. BLADE HQ found several other piles of corpses much like this one all over the region.”
Jaynix looked at the images, it was indeed a lot of BLADEs and Indigens, dead and thrown onto each other.
“A Tyrant?”
“Yes…finding the first one we thought it was an Indigen’s food stash but then we kept finding more piles and…it’s very clearly not eating them. With this taken into account, BLADE HQ deemed it necessary to have this Tyrant eliminated. Kruse took on the mission, recruiting three other Harriers to help him out. They all took off earlier today and after their second check-in about an hour after they left…nothing. Silence.”
Jaynix narrowed her eyes, no doubt Kruse left for this mission after she talked with him earlier.
“No one’s heard anything? At all? Then…we have to go find him! They could be in trouble! Or dead!”
Elma sighed.
“I tried to avoid thinking that but…yes…I held off on the belief that they were fine. I figured if I went out alone and panicked it’d help no one.”
Jaynix stood.
“Well. You won’t be alone. Let’s go, Elma.”
The other woman thought only for a moment before standing up and nodding.
Rain fell on the pair as they drove through Primordia in Jaynix’s rover. Using the positions of the corpse piles as well as dating the victims, the pair had a rough estimate on the Tyrant’s patterns and based off Kruse’s last transmission they had a good guess of the direction he was headed as well.
Both theoretical paths crossed only a few more miles from their location. It was their best bet.
Bringing the rover to a stop, Jaynix and Elma got out, drawing their weapons and proceeding slowly. Elma’s comm device beeped, taking it out she sighed in relief.
“Nagi get back to you on the request?”
“Yes. They’ve successfully pinged Kruse’s comm device…we’re not too far off from where he is.”
“You’d think they’d have tracking chips installed on our Mimeosomes…”
The pair continued walking in silence before Jaynix sighed.
“They do, don’t they?”
“…yes but…they aren’t accessed for the very reason I’m sure you aren’t happy to have this knowledge. I imagine you don’t like people being able to know when you’re…”
Elma trailed off, shrugging her shoulders. Jaynix sighed.
“I could say the same about you.”
The pair kept walking with Jaynix feeling something odd.
“Wait…Elma. Who would I be with?”
“What?”
Hearing a groan the pair turned in the direction of the sound. Looking to each other they nodded before moving at a quicker pace, eventually finding a clearing with a few boulders and trees scattered about. Four BLADEs were on the ground but no Tyrant of any kind around.
Jaynix watched the perimeter as Elma ran over to Kruse.
“Are you alright? What happened?”
Kruse turned to see her.
“…in moments of delirium…you really do look like an angel, Elma.”
The woman sighed before pressing her forehead against Kruse’s.
“I love you…”
“I love you too…as for what happened? Well…”
Kruse got up, now standing on his knees, he groaned in pain as he gestured to the other bodies. Elma shot Jaynix a look, the Interceptor sighing in relief, Kruse was okay. Turning her attention to the other BLADEs she walked towards them.
“The Tyrant?”
“I’d like to think it bled out as it ran from us but…chances are it’s still about. Wounded.”
“Did your team get ambushed?”
Kruse looked down, silent for a few moments before nodding.
Jaynix pushed a body over and began studying the wounds. Tilting her head, she found something odd about what she was seeing. Running her hands along the burns she could only whisper something to herself before moving to the other bodies.
Elma helped Kruse stand only for the man to clench his teeth and groan before falling back to the ground.
“Got me good…”
“We’ll carry you. Jaynix, report this in!”
Jaynix could only nod as she moved from the second body to the third.
Something was off.
“Jaynix!”
Turning her glance over to Elma, she saw something she refused to believe. Eyes widening she began running, Elma giving her an odd look.
With the ignition of a photon saber, Elma turned to Kruse who was now standing and facing her with his weapon drawn. Jaynix tackled Elma to the ground, Kruse’s weapon searing across her back as they fell to the floor.
Biting back the pain Jaynix rolled to her feet and drew her longsword. Elma stood up, confused as she looked to Kruse.
“The other BLADEs. Their injuries. Their deaths. All consistent with Photon Saber scorching and cuts.”
Elma looked to Jaynix then back at the Harrier who had his eyes on them.
“Kruse. What have you done?”
With a yell, Kruse charged at them, Jaynix standing and stopping his blade with her own. She stared into her brother’s eyes but saw nothing recognizable. Clenching his other fist he delivered a brutal punch into Jaynix’s stomach before bringing his blade up and cutting across her torso.
Stumbling back, Jaynix before returning her attention to Kruse as he prepared to make his next move. As a soldier she knew to not let anything distract her. There was no time for doubts. But she couldn’t help but wonder what was going on. Kruse would never do this willingly.
Kruse charged Jaynix again, the two blades colliding over and over again, Kruse’s photon saber flashing, sparks flying, illuminating the dark Primordian surroundings, the rain coming down even harder on the pair.
Elma watched everything going down, trying to piece together how it was that this was happening. It couldn’t be real. It had to be a dream.
“Kruse! That’s your sister! That’s Jaynix!”
Kruse did not even flinch as he continued his assault. Elma could see that while Jaynix was perfectly parrying and redirecting his blows, she wasn’t fighting back.
In that moment Elma recalled what Kruse had told her, expressed to her so long ago, before either would ever admit that they loved the other.
“…somehow, I was giving all this information to the Ganglion. I mean, what do I really know about myself? What if it’s not because of some stasis hangover? What if I was born here, on Mira? They planted me in Starfall Basin and all they had to do was wait. I'd be accepted into BLADE and no one, not even I would know what I was truly here for. I was convinced but I kept thinking if that was the case, why haven't I done anything more? The Lifehold, the Black Skell…I could do so much more damage being here. They could have me kill Vandham or Chausson, bring down our leadership or…"
“Kill…me…”
Elma sat there in the rain as Kruse and Jaynix yelled at one another, blades colliding without end. It couldn’t be true. Kruse wasn’t the traitor. That very idea died along with the real traitor. And yet, what she was witnessing was real, he had tried to kill her, so soon after telling her that he loved her.
The Ganglion lost yet…was this really happening?
Jaynix saw Elma, frozen, lost in thought. Cursing she broke away from Kruse and ran towards her, feeling a burning slash along the back of one of her legs. Coming to a halt near Elma, she turned to face Kruse, addressing her Colonel.
“Boss! Get up!”
“Jaynix…I…this…”
“Elma! We can figure out what’s wrong with him but we need to bring him in! We have to stop his rampage here! Disarm him! Do something! I need your help!”
Elma looked over to Jaynix, before she could speak, Kruse charged them. Cursing, Jaynix moved in front of Elma, her blade locking with Kruse’s.
“C’mon Bro. We’ve sparred plenty of times…you may be crazy right now but-”
Time seemed to slow as Kruse’s other hand drew a pistol from his back. Jaynix watched as he brought the end of the weapon to bear and fired three shots into her stomach. Gasping in pain, she felt her strength leave her and stumbled out of the blade lock.
Her hands went to her stomach, gripping the injury. She could barely make out Elma yelling her name. Then she felt a hand grab her arm, forcing her to drop her blade. Turning she saw, Kruse pull her arm straight and raise his blade.
She knew Elma was screaming at Kruse to stop, but she could see…nothing in his eyes. His blade came down, slicing clean through her arm. Jaynix fell to her knees, gripping the remains of her appendage and screaming in pain.
Kruse stood over her, unmoving. She looked up at him in shock, tears streaming down her face. Blue eyes unflinching, the man raised his blade again.
“Kruse!”
Turning, the Harrier saw Elma, now standing, aiming her gun at him. Elma felt like she was back in the Ganglion Weapons Hangar…but the stakes were much more real, much more meaningful. Before her was a man she loved with all her heart. Someone that nothing could ever convince her to harm him…yet, here she was.
“Drop your sword, Kruse. I mean it.”
Jaynix looked over to Elma and shook her head.
“Don’t do it…”
“Jaynix I-”
“I’m not…you can’t kill Kruse, Elma. You can’t!”
“I have to!”
Elma’s eyes returned to Kruse, her heart pounding as he stared at her, unblinking.
“Step away from her Kruse…please…don’t kill Jaynix. Don’t kill your sister.”
The rain came down on the three of them, Elma almost incapable of breathing, Jaynix trying to prevent herself from crying, the pain all over her body making the effort meaningless, and Kruse, silent.
“I mean it Kruse! Move!”
“Elma. Don’t…”
After a brief silence, Kruse smiled.
“You can’t do it.”
Turning back to Jaynix he raised his blade again. Jaynix looked up at it, hearing Elma scream.
As it came down on her she heard a gun go off.
Sitting up in bed, Kruse looked around. Confused he continued looking over the room he and Elma shared. Dark. Silent. Calm.
Tilting his head, he continued staring at nothing as Elma sat up next to him. Rubbing one of her eyes.
“Kruse?”
“Did you hear something?”
“Hm? Hear what?”
He could only shake his head.
“I don’t know…it was like…a yell or a…scream…”
He looked to Elma, who despite being tired also seemed very concerned.
“A scream?”
He could only nod. Did he imagine it?
Sighing he shrugged to Elma and laid back down, Elma doing the same. However, she still wore a concerned look on her face. She opened her mouth to ask Kruse if he was fine with dropping it when their door was kicked open.
The pair sat up as their light was flipped on.
“DON’T MOVE!”
Kruse and Elma found themselves staring at Jaynix, their door now on the floor. She held her blade up and was pointing it at Kruse.
“Sis-”
“SHUT UP! JUST SHUT UP! SHUT THE FUCK UP!”
Jaynix was breathing heavily, her eyes darting back and forth between Kruse and Elma.
“Get away from her.”
“What?”
“GET OUT OF THE BED! GET AWAY FROM ELMA!”
Jaynix took one step forward, thrusting her blade slightly. Nodding, Kruse scrambled out of the bed and stood away from it.
“Jaynix. What-”
Jaynix shook her head.
“It’s fine. Everything will be alright, Elma. Everything is fine.”
Kruse held his hands up.
“Sis. What are you doing?”
“SHUT UP! Don’t say another fucking word until I figure this out!”
Jaynix closed her eyes and began muttering an assortment of things to herself. Kruse could make out names and places. The hill outside of NLA, Deliverance Park, Mia, Thea, Sharon…
“When! When did it happen!? When is it going to?”
Kruse shook his head.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about?”
“I’m going to kill you Kruse! I’m going to kill you. Tell me when and how it happens before I do! Tell me. NOW!”
“I don’t know what to say!”
Jaynix screamed, swinging her blade, slicing clean through the barrack walls.
“TELL ME!”
“Jaynix.”
The woman looked over to Elma.
“Everything is fine. Jaynix. Whatever you think is happening or is going to…it isn’t.”
“…what?”
Jaynix looked back at Kruse, then at Elma, then at the blade in her hands. She clenched her teeth, desperately trying to remember what was happening. What happened. What was going to happen.
“No. I saw it…no…it happened…no…when…why did…”
Jaynix brought one of her hands to the side of her head. Clenching it into a fist she began striking herself in the head, screaming while doing so.
Elma quickly got out of bed and ran over to her, catching her fist to stop her from hurting herself. Kruse attempted to step forward only for Jaynix to yell and thrust the blade at him again.
“Jaynix. Tell me. I’m right here. What happened?”
Turning to Elma, Jaynix whispered.
“Kruse…killed…he…he tried to kill us. He killed me…I saw it…I don’t…I don’t want that to happen! IT CAN’T HAPPEN! You killed him Elma! You did it and…it can’t…”
Elma looked from Jaynix to Kruse, then back to her.
“We’re all here, Jaynix. All of us. Alive. We’re fine.”
Elma closed her eyes, she knew she had to say this. Looking Jaynix in the eyes she spoke.
“It was all a dream. Whatever it was. It was a dream. A nightmare.”
Elma could see some sort of…realization, recognition, in Jaynix’s eyes. The Interceptor shook her head.
“It was real.”
She looked to Kruse then back to Elma again.
“It…it was real…”
She ran through everything again. It all happened. All of it. It was real. Hands shaking, she shook her head.
“Nightmare? Dream? But…how?”
Jaynix continued to shake her head, balling her hand into a fist and striking herself again, Elma stopping her.
“Jaynix! You’re awake! This! This is real.”
Jaynix finally dropped her blade, tears streaming down her face as she whispered.
“When…?”
Falling to her knees, she brought both of her hands to her head.
“When did…when…”
She looked at Elma, fear in her eyes.
“When did I fall asleep? I don’t…”
Everything began flashing through her head. Everything she swore was real. Everything that was a dream. It all began mixing together. It didn’t make sense.
“I don’t remember.”
She closed her eyes, trying to force it only caused everything to jumble up even further. Faces became unrecognizable. Friends were strangers. Words meant nothing.
“I don’t remember…I can’t…when did I fall asleep?”
Then all her memories stopped. One person appeared.
Someone she loved with all her heart.
Alexa.
And she finally remembered.
Alexa left NLA on an extended mission with the Outfitters.
This was her first night alone since they got together.
Realizing this she began crying.
Finally opening her eyes, she looked at Kruse.
“I’m sorry.”
Kruse immediately ran to her side and embraced her along with Elma.
The pair held onto her as she continued to whisper apologies and cry.

A Guide for Who to Root For in This Trash-Ass Super Bowl
At long last, we know John Wick’s impossible task: picking the more likable team in a Super Bowl involving the New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles.
Wick is a New Yorker and definitely a Giants fan, so you know this to be true.
Every year, those of us who are fans of the loser teams not playing on Super Bowl Sunday prefer to have an easily identifiable villain to root against and an underdog hero we can pin our hopes on. Last year, it was easy, as the beautiful Atlanta Falcons dominated the vile Patriots for two and a half quarters before proceeding to puke all over themselves and fall into quicksand while trying to hold up their sagging pants.
The decision this year is much more difficult.
That’s why I’m here, to break down everything about the teams and help you choose your new favorite team for three hours. Patriots? Eagles? Let’s look at this logically and solve the riddle of Super Bowl LII.
QUARTERBACKS: Tom Brady vs. Nick Foles
Brady: He was brought into existence in 2001 when a scientist stuffed a football into a jar of mayonnaise and buried it in radioactive waste. While some people can be stupid in a charming way, Brady’s idiocy is more dangerous. He’s Forrest Gump if instead of chocolates and running Forrest enjoyed highly expensive potions that give sick people false hope and cheating at football with near total impunity. Brady has so completely shed his human form that he can’t answer a simple question about which Kendrick Lamar songs he likes after saying he likes Kendrick Lamar.
Foles: No idea. Is he lefty? “Nick Foles” sounds less like a quarterback and more like a strategy created by evil hunters. He’s blond, I think. Who is the last blond quarterback to win a Super Bowl? John Elway? That was like 20 years ago. Foles would have to be the blondest since Terry Bradshaw, right? Apparently he has a gigantic shlong, but that’s going to make half the people jealous and half love him. He probably can’t name a Kendrick Lamar song, either.
Advantage: Push
COACHES: Bill Belichick vs. Doug Pederson
Belichick: He’s cold, calculating, and ruthlessly efficient at cheating. If they ever make a Horrible Bosses 3, he needs to be a character that’s stalked by Tiquan Underwood. This guy either dresses like he just got done with a three-hour biceps session at the YMCA or he’s traveling back in time to participate in prohibition. He’s a man of few words where the media is concerned because he prefers to save them for love letters to Donald Trump.
Pederson: Wasn’t this the name that Cameron Frye is always using in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off? “Doug Pederson, Chicago PD!” How is this team in the Super Bowl? Before becoming head coach in Philadelphia, he spent three seasons in Kansas City as offensive coordinator and guided the Chiefs to no better than 21st in total offense in his time there. Don’t you dare say the NFL isn’t a meritocracy! He got a Super Bowl ring as holder with the Packers in 1997, which is like telling people you won an Oscar for Saving Private Ryan because you played a corpse on the beach.
Advantage: Push
CHAIN RESTAURANTS: Dunkin’ Donuts vs. Wawa
Dunkin’ Donuts: Bostonians’ years of defending the watered-down piss coffee they serve turned out to be great practice for defending an indefensible football team. “There’s something about the Dunkies in Boston that’s just different!” No, there isn’t. Someone in 1948 spilled sewer water into a coffee machine in Quincy and nobody had the heart to say they were serving garbage juice. This would be the perfect #brand partnership for Brady if he didn’t think coffee beans contained ligament fiber thetans or some shit.
Wawa: It’s a 7-11 that’s not self-aware enough to realize it’s just a place to get beef jerky on a road trip or a pre-cooked hot dog when you’re drunk. Wawa is to Philadelphians what music is to people when they’re teenagers—it was there in your formative years so you think it’s better than it actually is. “Oh, but they make sandwiches!” Holy shit, sandwiches? Can you get sandwiches anywhere else in the world? It’s a fancy rest stop named for how babies say water. Get lost.
Advantage: Push
RECENT HISTORY: Patriots vs. Eagles
Patriots: This is the Patriots’ eighth Super Bowl appearance since 2002. The Patriots have won no fewer than nine regular-season games since 2001 and have a record of 209-63 over that time. With Belichick and Brady at the helm, the Patriots have become the model franchise across all sports.
Eagles: Donovan McNabb puked on the field during a Super Bowl. From 2001 to 2003, the Eagles lost three straight NFC title games, the last two occurring at home. When they finally got to the Super Bowl in 2004, they lost to the Patriots. They would go on to lose one more NFC title game in 2008, which makes them a less successful version of those Buffalo Bills teams that lost four straight Super Bowls.
Advantage: Push
FOLLOWING RULES: Cheating vs. Not Cheating
Cheating: The Patriots have been caught cheating on two occasions, Spygate and Deflategate. It’s doubtful a team with a history of cheating only cheated twice, so we will likely never know the full breadth of the Patriots’ cheating but it’s probably wild. If you told me Belichick would get nude and oil himself up so he could slide in air ducts above the visiting team’s locker room with a recording device, I would believe you and hate you for making me picture that image.
Not cheating: The beauty of being a franchise without a Super Bowl is there’s no way anyone can accuse you of cheating. Or trying. Or being good. Man, maybe cheat a little, huh? That town needs it.
Advantage: Push
FANS: Insufferable Pricks vs. Volatile Assholes
Insufferable pricks: The one thing I truly appreciate about the douchebag core of Patriots fans is their unapologetic nature. “Everyone fucking hates you!” “Good. I don’t give a shit. Go Pats.” You have to respect it. There’s never any, “Not all Patriots fans are like that!” nonsense. They know the team cheats and the players and coach are trash but all the winning is so orgasmic they go with it. Bill Simmons is a 50-year-old man who probably has a “hate us because they ain’t us” tattoo on his calf and it’s damn admirable.
Volatile idiots: Now with Eagles fans, you never know. You could wear a Giants jersey to an Eagles game and either engage in witty ribbing and banter with good-natured fans or have your throat slit while waiting to buy a beer. And unlike with Patriots fans, there are still Eagles fans who play the “every city has bad fans” card. Sure. Every city has people who intentionally puke on children, throw batteries at players, punch police horses, craft large signs that say “FUCK MILLIE” because 100-year-old people should eat shit too, throw snowballs at Santa Claus, boo the franchise’s best quarterback when he was drafted, cheer because Michael Irvin may be potentially paralyzed on the field, throw a beer bottle at the best first baseman in franchise history, or climb into a penalty box to fight Tie Domi. You’ll find all that in every sports town, absolutely.
Advantage: Push
TELEVISION SHOWS: Cheers vs. It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Cheers: Really funny show about 1980s people in Boston who don’t care about anyone but themselves, hanging out in bar. It stars Rhea Perlman, who is married to Danny DeVito.
It’s Always Sunny: Really funny show about 2000s people in Philadelphia who don’t care about anyone but themselves, hanging out in bar. It stars Danny DeVito, who is married to Rhea Perlman.
Wait, should I be writing a TV show about a bar in … New York?
Advantage: Push
MOST FAMOUS FAN: Mark Wahlberg vs. Mark Wahlberg
Seriously, this moron from Boston—who claims to be a huge Patriots fan even though he left in the middle of the Super Bowl comeback last year and blamed his child for it—says he doesn’t care who wins this year! Why? Because not only is Come Awn Come Awn Feel It Feel It a huge Pats bro, he once portrayed some shitty player who only made the Eagles roster because the team was so damn shitty.
Can you imagine this idiot being asked about global warming? “I’m really rooting for humans to survive climate change but I was in a movie where trees and plants killed people, so I’ve got a special place in my heart for leaves. I’ll be happy no matter who wins.”
Advantage: Push
It turns out the lesson here is don’t root for anyone. Don’t even watch the game. There’s a decent chance John Wick 2 will be on one of your HBOs. Watch that and don’t look back at NBC until Monday morning.

Requested by Panda: Since drunk Jacob is back on our dashes again, I wanna see what it would be like when his s/o finds Jacob drunk off his ass and has to help him get back to the train. You can come up with what happens XD
Warning: Alcohol
Words: 907
A/N: Dammit I love drunk Jacob so much lol. He would be like Edward but even sillier I think. I pity Evie a lot in cases of extreme drinking. Also, I headcanon that Jacob has a tendency to forget after a little while under the influence of alcohol.
Tagging: @writingsofawaywardnerd @bunnyyumyum @thepandadrawer @amarabliss @romancingthecreed @rooks-and-blighters @kebeo @an-order-of-fryes @freedomaboveallelse @sailingalongchampagneshores @thehalodiaries @imakemyownblog @scarlet-marionette
You take a deep breath, close the book you were reading from and hop off of the train, knowing that the Rooks and the Fryes would be celebrating their latest victory over Lambeth in a nearby pub. As you walk there, you try to theorize about what may have happened to the Piece of Eden that had been buried in London and why it was more important to the British Templar Rite than any other before it.
Loud cheers and yells resounded across the entire street as you slowly approached a local pub. From the fully lit windows, you could see Rooks shouting and clapping each other on the back for their achievement against the Blighters. As a few Rooks move out of the way, you see Evie in the corner and enter the pub with as much discretion as possible. You manage to shove through the crowd towards her and she finally catches you slowly moving towards her.
“Y/N, thank God you’re here. Any luck with the Piece of Eden?” She asks and you shake your head.
“I can’t find any details as to what it could be. Perhaps we have to infiltrate one of the more heavily guarded Templar strongholds to get what we need.” You suggest and Evie nods in agreement.
“We can go over it tomorrow. My dearest brother has been looking for you.” She informs and tips her head behind you. You turn slightly to see him laughing with a beer in hand.
“Has he now? Seems to be enjoying himself. I’ll disturb him at a later time.” You shrug and Evie laughs.
“He does, doesn’t he? But I will warn you, he is on his fifth beer of the night and we both know what happens if he drinks a little too much.” She winks and you smirk at the memory.
“Ah yes, the urine incident. Don’t believe any of us are keen on reliving that experience. Alright, I’ll get him back to the train. I’ll meet you there alright?” You say and Evie nods again before you make your way to Jacob.
“Alright, love, I think you’ve had enough for tonight.” You tell him as you snatch away the beer bottle before he can object.
“Ah Y/N! Heard about the celebration, eh love?” Jacob shouts above the noise around you and you smile.
“Of course I did. But I really think you should go back now. There are more boroughs to conquer.” You reply and he tries to nod but it was almost comical in the way he did it.
‘He acts as if his head is a large stone.’ You say to yourself as you hand the bottle off to a passing Rook.
“I will see all of you Rooks tomorrow! Have fun lads!” Jacob hollers as you lead him to the exit.
Choruses of ‘Night Boss!’ and ‘Have fun tonight!’ echo around you as the two of you leave the pub. Well more like Jacob stumbling out and you partially carrying him.
“So which borough to conquer next, love? Southwark? Ooh or maybe the Strand. Heard the leader there was a challenge.” Jacob muses as you try to steer him on the path from where you came.
“Victor Lynch, yes. He is a handful. You will need your rest for that.” You answer and you try to hide an amused smile behind your words.
“Aye, Lynch can go and try to challenge us but I promise you, love, we will win. Hell, I might hand that over for you to keep.” Jacob slurs as he nearly slips out of your grasp.
“I’m not sure Evie would agree with that decision, darling.” You reply and he scoffs.
“Who gives a damn about what Evie says? She doesn’t have a say in everything I do.” Jacob responds almost angrily and you roll your eyes mentally.
“Come on Jacob. Let’s go.” You sigh and he complies upon hearing your forceful tone.
“So what have you and my sister gotten up to while I was taking out the Templars?” He asks and you ponder your next move.
“Besides searching for the Piece of Eden? Not much.” You reply nonchalantly and he doesn't say anything. For a second, you think you've offended him by even mentioning the Piece of Eden. However, he just buries himself into your neck and presses sloppy kisses against it.
“Jacob, we’re almost there.” You sigh and he relents as he lets you drag him into the train and onto a bed in the middle of the sleeping car.
You help him in bed and take off his top hat as he flops onto the mattress. As you finish pulling the covers over him, he tugs on your wrist and motions you to sleep next to him. You give him a look but he pouts in response and you roll your eyes again before shuffling into bed next to him.
“G’night Y/N.” He murmurs into your ear and you press a kiss onto his cheek.
“Good night Jacob.” You reply as the two of you fall asleep to the sound of the train tracks.
