If you're a Damon or Katherine fan, I really don't recommend you read this. But if you dislike them as much as me, go ahead.

I was (stupidly) one of the few people that chose to think Damon didn't rape Caroline, because Pl*c said he didn't. And like, I prefer to believe that, not because I like Damon, I despise him, but because the amount of sexual abuse this show has is disgusting.

Tyler trying to rape Vicky, Damon raping Caroline, Katherine raping Stefan, etc. And damn, perhaps even when Klaus made out with Caroline while he was in Tyler's body.

Do I think he would have slept with her? No, but the fact that Caroline had already took her shirt off and Klaus didn't stop her until later always felt off for me. I don't think he would have raped her, at all. I don't see any of the Mikaelson as the rape type, perhaps Mikael, but not even then.

But anyways, while scrolling through Google, I decided to search how Julie actually "confirmed" Damon didn't rape Caroline, and honestly it's just pathetic.

What does this even mean? Caroline herself said he abused her, AND fed on her. I mean, the quote is literally "I remember how you manipulated me. You pushed me around, abused me, erased my memories. Fed on me."

Yes, Caroline consented to sex the first time, but after that? He fed on her, and raped her as well.

And Katherine raped Stefan as well, I'm pretty sure. When she began compelling him, to "go on exactly like they wanted", he literally wasn't mentally able to consent to a romantic relationship with her, less alone sexual. And Stefan was 17, exactly the same age Caroline was when Damon raped her.

So, if I'm correct, Katherine raped Stefan, Damon raped Caroline and Andy, Tyler tried to force himself on Vicky and I think it's implied Stefan is a rapist as well in a flashback, but I'm not too sure because the last time I saw TVD (other than seasons 3/4) was in 2018, right when it ended, but the whole thing is him being seen with naked women and blood all over them while he had his humanity off I think. Anyway, disgusting.

I don't think the writers intented for them to be considered rapists, especially if we take into account the three of them are fan favorite. But it was 2009, a lot of things were taken lightly and I'm 100% sure TVD wouldn't have made it past the pilot if it had been streamed in 2020.

And yeah, every single character is a murderer on this show, but there's a difference between them. Both are traumatic and both are unforgiving, and in real life no one wants to be through that (I've seen people compare Elena and Caroline's trauma, her being raped and the first being abused by Klaus, which it's disgusting, there is no need to compare them). But if you're gonna bring one of them to fiction, always chose murder. Because in murder there may be a "redeeming" quality that explains why you did it, but rape? It's completely disgusting, it's awful and there is nothing that will ever excuse taking someone's free will like that.

But anyways: The Vampire Diaries is racist, rapist and a lot of things I'm for sure forgetting now. It's really hard to be a fan of this show sometimes, but I still like it, though I'm more of a fan of The Originals. And that show has problems of it's own, considering it made Elijah look racist and made Klaus sympathize with a group of vampires that the show recognized as nazis.

I'm Better Than Him

Klaus eyed you from a far across the ballroom. His mother upon returning to life insisted on throwing a royal ball and inviting the whole town. He had better things to do than make friends with the towns people of Mystic Falls. At least that's what he was thinking until he saw you and he suddenly felt a beat in his no beating heart. He knew you were taken by his first hybrid Tyler Lockwood. But his heart beats for you so he would do anything to take you from him. All so he could call you his love, his queen, ultimately just be his one and only. He only wished you wanted him too. The truth was you did, he was a forbidden boyfriend that you had never experienced before you became a vampire.

Tyler and I intertwined our hands together staring to slowly dance around the large ballroom. I had decided on wearing a simple red dress instead of a big ballgown like Caroline or Elena. I just don't see the point in trying to not trip over your own feet the whole evening. Which is also why I'm wearing sneakers and not wearing heels. "He's staring over here again. I wish he would stop." Tyler grumbled under his breath and I already knew he meant Klaus Mikaelson. Everyone around us dances without a care then suddenly switch partners. Tyler spins me out and I gasped feeling the arms of Klaus secure my waist gently. "Hello love, I was hoping we would get a dance together." Biting my lip veins appeared underneath my eyes seeing a human girl dancing near us. I haven't gotten used to the transition yet so he puts his back to the girl so I'm not tempted to drain her. "Thank you for that...I didn't want to kill her." I whispered knowing he would hear me since he's the oldest vampire to ever exist.

"You're welcome, Y/n. I bet Tyler doesn't know the urge since he's broken his sire bond recently. But I know what it's like. The hunger to kill. I can help you through it better than he can." Rolling my eyes I shake my head at his suggestion. Klaus twirls me out and back into his chest. My hair falls over my shoulders that I had curled a little at the ends. "Thanks for the offer but as you said he's still a hybrid. Half vampire remember, Klaus." He bites his lips forming a smile at my words. I'm not blind that the hybrid dancing with me has a massive crush on me. After we met one night at the Grill then gifts such as drawings or flowers appeared on my doorstep. "Give me a chance, Y/n. Think about it Tyler won't give you an exciting thrill that you seek. He won't worship you like a queen, like I will for all eternity." Staring up into those blue eyes I suck in a breath struggling to not kiss him. I've dreamt about what it would feel to kiss him, how it would feel to almost make my heart race again like I was actually alive once more.

Dropping my gaze to the ground I slightly regret that he might have a point. Ever since my boyfriend became a hybrid he's not like he used to be. Tyler is more aggressive and doesn't really mean to hurt me but he's nearly bit me when we were kissing. "I can't just dump my boyfriend for you. Like it or not Tyler is a good guy, he just isn't good at controlling his temper." Klaus nods his head in agreement leaning forward whispering in my ear. "If you change your mind. I'll be just a call away, Y/n love." Hearing him say my name makes me nearly giggling but I get spun back into Tyler's arms before I could ever respond back to him, glancing around the room Klaus is gone like a ghost.

Jacob and I were standing in front of our birthday cake at our sixteenth birthday. Holding his hand in mine we blew out the candles on the chocolate and strawberry cake hearing everyone clap. “That is so great, you two.” Our mother took our picture until we saw our uncle coming in our direction.

“Happy birthday my niece and nephew. A few more years and you’ll be all grown up.” He smiled at us but I could see he wanted to talk to our mother. He bent down on a knee holding out his hands to us. "We share a history. A bloodline.. We're family."

Jacob and I placed our hands in each individually but my brother said. “You’re our uncle but mom doesn’t mention you often.”

“That’s because I am a very busy guy. But I’ll let you all in on a little secret. Come close.” He beckoned us forward where we scooted closer hearing him begin to chant something. “Sanguinem desimilus, sanguinem generis fiantus."

I winced trying to pull away from him. “Agh!…uncle you're hurting us!”

“Uncle!” Jaocb cried.

Before he could go any further he winced sharply seeing my mother grab his head siphoning him until he collapsed onto his back groaning. “Urgh Eliza!”

“Are you two okay?” She rushes to us seeing that our arms weren’t bruised or anything.

I shook my head rubbing my hands. “Just sore and tired, mom.”

“Go and lay down. Take your brother with you.” She pushed us toward the house where I glanced over my shoulders. “I don’t want you anywhere near my children ever again.”

Joshua couched getting to his feet. “One of them will become the leader whether you like it or not, sister.”

“Who the hell are you, mate?” Klaus asked staying in front of me as a bodyguard being able to feel my heartbeat almost racing where I might kill over by the level of fear running through me.

Joshua moved forward, extending his hand. “I’m Joshua Parker. It’s nice to meet you Klaus Mikaelson.”

Klaus eyed his hand about to move forwards but I shoved myself in between the pair smacking his hands away knowing what he was going to do. “No! You don’t get to magic his ass. Now what the hell are you doing here. And how did you even find me?”

“We share blood. I still have the strongest magic of our coven or at least I did until I found your spot on the map. Somehow your strength has grown at a quicker rate than should be physically possible.” He explained it to me.

Klaus raised his hand tugging me backwards by my forearm. “That’s because of me, Joshua is it. You know I have heard quite a lot about you. And none of the stories are good. So I suggest you get out of here before I rip your throat out!” He showed him his fangs and the werewolf eyes.

“If you kill me then she’ll die too.” Joshua said, meeting my gaze where I crossed my arms over my chest stepping away from him.

Klaus smirked at him. “She’s linked to me, she’s basically immortal now.”

“Then why are there marks on her arms huh. I am not an idiot. Every time she used magic and became weak I felt it.” My uncle stepped closer trying to get my attention. “Now can we please talk some privately because I didn’t have to come out here.”

Snapping back at him I bared my teeth, stomping up to him. “If you don’t want to be here then go home. I don’t want anything to do with you ever since the day I met you, you have done nothing but try and get me and my brother to Merge. Now that you forced us to do so I murdered my own brother-“

“I have done the same thing you did.” Joshua cut me off.

Throwing my hands in the air I shouted at him clutching my hands into fists breaking some of the street lights around us without doing any magic at all. “You don’t know what it feels like to watch your brother die and have no clue that it was going to happen. You may have killed yours and think it is okay but it’s not. It’s the thing that keeps me awake at night and I will never find peace knowing that he suffered!”

“I had to do it before I got sick and died. I don’t have the patience to wait a couple more years for the twins.” He raised his voice at me.

“Oh yeah because you’re afraid that Kai is trying to get out!”

For the first time in my life I saw honor take over my uncle's face. Klaus came to stand beside me grasping my hand in his sending me a confused look not understanding. “What are you talking about, Raelyn. He’s trapped in a prison world. He can’t get out.”

“Well I’ve seen him. When I took on the Original witch's magic I passed out and saw him. He talked to me somehow like I was in his prison for only a split second. But he’s trying to escape, mark my word, Uncle. He threatened to kill me one night when I was heading to bed.” I marched up to him grabbing his hands making him wince when I showed him my memories before he pushed me away.

Klaus caught me in his arms when I stumbled backwards gripping his jacket. “He will never get out. You are just lying so that I don’t do the ritual to make you the leader. So I don’t transfer my power over to you and put the whole coven in the hands of your baby. On the off chance that you carry twins inside your belly!”

“There’s no baby, Uncle Joshua.” I attempted to lie knowing that he didn’t have vampire hearing.

He scoffed, raising his hand chanting a mind spell. “Do you take me for a fool, Raelyn. Pontem praesidio. Anchora immortalibus. Per mental mi heavy for anmina. Pontem praesidio. Anchora immortalibus!” I grabbed the sides of my head seeing my past memories coming to the surface.

Shrugging my shoulders I throw my hands away from my side. “From what I gather I am able to have a child because he was born a werewolf. So before he turned he was a mortal supernatural being.”

“You two have slept together recently.” The witch shouted, making me halt in my tracks.

Klaus took a few steps back dragging me behind him and shielding me with his chest. “What are you saying?”

“Niklaus… The girl is carrying your child.” Elijah reveals to him where my hand’s dropped down to my stomach in shock.

Screaming I wanted the pain to stop. “Get out of my head, Uncle Joshua!”

“Pontem praesidio. Anchora immortalibus - urgh!” He grunted getting pinned against the wall by Nik who was choking him by the throat.

Raising to my feet I began gasping for breath when his eyes started rolling in the back of his head. “Klaus, let him go…..if you kill him we all die!”

“He’s hurting you, Rae. He won’t have much to say if he doesn’t have his tongue.” My boyfriend threatened shoving his fangs again.n

Raising my hand casting a sleeping spell on him snapping his neck quickly. Uncle Joshua collapsed to the ground gasping for breath staring up at me when he saw my hand was extended down to him. “See you’re just like me. Doing what is best for the Coven.”

“I didn’t save your life to benefit the Coven. I did it to keep Josette, Lucas and Olivia alive.” Yanking him up to his feet I glared into his gray eyes that focused on me. “Now if you’re so concerned with the Coven then send your power to me. I’ll become the leader!”

He raised a brow. “You have repeatedly said you don’t want it.”

“You’re right I don’t give a crap about the others in our Coven. I was an outcast by everyone else except for my mother and Josette. So they can all rot for all I care. But I will do what I have to do to save the ones that I actually do love.” I stomped up to him almost pressed up against his chest where we could feel the others' breath.

Joshua glanced down to my boyfriend Klaus who was still dead from the neck snap I had given him. He bent down placing his hand on his chest looking back up at me. “So he’s the father huh. I am surprised that you got him. Everyone knows to fear his name.” He got to his feet laying his palms flat for me. “You are doing what you were born to do, Raelyn Lane.”

“Save it, Uncle and start chanting!” I shouted up at him smacking my hands into his larger one.

He closed his eyes, wincing a little when I began to siphon his magic while he chanted the Merge spell and another spell I wasn’t familiar with.“Sanguinem desimilus, Sanguinem generis flantes. Sanguinem desimilus, Sanguinem generis flantes…Tillate ulaz tillate ulaz tillate ulaz. Tillate ulaz tillate ulaz tillate ulaz.”

“Raelyn…no!” Klaus regained his consciousness the second that the wind blew around us and he could see our intertwined hands.

Yet I ignored him chanting at the same time as my uncle. “Sanguinem desimilus, Sanguinem generis flantes. Sanguinem desimilus, Sanguinem generis flantes…Tillate ulaz tillate ulaz tillate ulaz. Tillate ulaz tillate ulaz tillate ulaz.” Wincing sharply as a huge amount of power gets transferred into my bloodstream struggling to remain linked to the spell when I enter his mind space.

Before my eyes I relived the memory the night he put his son away. "Josette, what did you do? Why can't I feel your magic? And why aren't they saying anything? They should be saying something. They should be saying something, right? We're merging. This should all be a bigger deal."

Suddenly Uncle Joshua appears, holding the Ascendant and stepping forward from the circle of the coven around them. "Sanguinem filio, sanguinem effurgarex perpetuum. Sanguinem filio, sanguinem effurgarex perpetuum."

Kai began screaming in pain on the ground. "Aah! Aah!"

Uncle Joshua kept performing the spell. "Phesmatos filio, phesmatos effurgarex perpetuum."

He dropped our hands and I felt lightheaded immediately afterwards. My uncle collapsed onto the ground and I fell backwards seeing Klaus hovering above me trying to keep me awake but I didn’t have enough strength. “Raelyn. Raelyn, keep your eyes opened. Stay with me, love!”

The next time I blinked my eyes open I was brought face to face with Tyler Lockwood sitting on the end of the bed in one of the mansion. I croaked out still feeling drained from the spell that we had done not understanding how we got back to the Falls so fast. “Tyler, what are you doing here?”

“Getting revenge on Klaus. He is busy getting someone to check on you. But he won’t find you.” He explains in a cold manner.

“What do you mean -“ I asked getting cut off when he covered my mouth with his hand and his other arm yanked me against his chest vamping us all the way into the middle of the woods.

He drops my weak body on the ground. “When the witch gets here we will use Raelyn to drag Klaus out here. Then we’ll finish him.”

Lifting my head up as much as I could I shivered seeing that there were twelve of his sired hybrids surrounding me. I raised my hand attempting to do the spell that I use to knock the Original family down but nothing happened. “Tyler, listen to me if he finds out you have me he will kill you.”

“Yeah except you see when he gets here, he won’t make it out alive.” He bent down on a knee biting into my neck throwing me into the strong arms of two of the hybrids that held me there bleeding slowly. “Keep her until he gets here. Then you know what to do.”

It was a few hours when night fell before one of the hybrids came back from town standing. “Where the hell is the witch? Adrian should be here any minute.”

The one named Adrian gasped before he collapsed to the ground and I saw that Nik had taken out his heart angrily watching the others. “Kim.”

“Klaus!” I gasped, choking on blood feeling more lighthearted than when I did the spell with my uncle.

He dropped the heart holding a longsword in his other hand stalking up to the remaining hybrids, specifically never taking his eyes off the two holding me on the ground. “You’ve got exactly less than a second to release her if you wish to make it out of here alive!”

One of the hybrids launches himself up into the air but he swings the sword killing him. He vamped forward, slicing a few others with the weapon. One of the hybrids holding me bit into my neck leaving the other to charge at him dying like the others. “One more step and I’ll kill her.”

“No you won’t!” Klaus growled vamping the hybrid against the tree behind me where my body got thrown harshly into another tree stabbing me multiple times where I felt my blood coming out.

Klaus went after the last hybrid girl who ran to the cellar getting trapped turning to see him covered in blood. “Where is Tyler Lockwood? You'd do well to answer me, love. Where is he?!”

She shuttered, trapped in between him and the cell bars. “I don't know.”

“Wrong answer.” He stabbed her with the sword, vamping back to me dropping the sword biting into his wrist in a panic to save me like he did last time something like this happened. “Raelyn - drink love.”

Wrapping my fingers weakly around his hand I took only two sips before my eyes fell closed and I collapsed into his arms. “Nik….” And for the last time did he hear her heartbeat before there was nothing.

his golden curls, his gorgeous blue eyes, his smile…his lips…

oh yeah

not to mention the son of a bitch was charming as hell

anyways

no matter what you did feel for him, you felt like you were betraying your boyfriend who you know would do anything for you

but no one is able to control their feelings, no matter how hard they try

the attraction, the raw chemistry, and the sexual tension

god even a stranger could take one look at you two and think y'all were going at it like bunnies behind closed doors

you know it's true, don't lie now

back to what i was saying

there's just something about this man

he looks like he was chiselled by greek gods, and he's promising to take you all over the world and show you life as you've only dreamt it

and not only that, but every time you two interact, despite how much you claim to despise him, you're left wanting more

but it gets worse

now that tyler's a hybrid who's sired to klaus, this only causes more problems to arise

tyler is forced to hide from klaus while he works tirelessly to break his sire bond

and with tyler not physically present, you're on your own a lot more

especially when he stops answering his phone and you've lost all contact with him

which leads to klaus popping up wherever you go

you're going to the grille to get a coffee?

well, klaus was just craving an espresso

you're reading on a bench in the town square

guess what? klaus is conveniently out for a stroll with his own novel in hand, and yes, he'd love to join you

you and klaus are getting closer

you're bonding

no one has ever been able to read your mind like he has

his stories include many important figures in history and you're begging for more by the time he's told you about his painting sessions with degas

you try to keep your guard up and hope klaus don't feel the thaw in your so called "hatred" for him

during all your time you see the man behind the monster

you really get to see that there's so much more to him than what he shows upfront

as guilty as you feel, you can't help but understand him, understand his actions and how he works

you also take notice of how he listens to you

he takes in every word you say and practically engraves it into his memory

he notices when something's going on with you before you can even say anything

he makes you feel so free

when he looks into your eyes as he's engaging in conversation with you, you feel as though he's staring into your soul

and now you can barely be reminded of the "monster" he is

and of course you still love tyler

but when he returns from the appalachians, you can't help but feel as though the spark has died

and everything you've ever felt for tyler has been forgotten in your heart

because you've fallen in love with klaus mikaelson

and now there's no going back
