To The Moon and Back
Platonic!Sully Kids x Human!Female!Reader
Summary: What if the Sully kids were captured instead of Spider? (A long drabble/short prompt?)
ZERO: THE ADDITION
"No!" Neteyam pounded against the glass, gritting his teeth. "Let us out!" When no one answered he growled, throwing himself against the wall. Expectedly, it didn't budge.
"Neteyam, stop it," Kiri wrapped a slender hand around his forearm, pulling him to face her. "You're scaring Tuk."
His eyes softened as they landed on his youngest sister, murmuring out a gentle 'sorry', before they hardened again as they landed on Lo'ak. His younger brother was silent as he sat curled in on himself, staring blankly at the wall with his head in his hands. Kiri couldn't stop him this time as he charged towards him, yanking him up forcefully by his necklace to sneer in his face. Lo'ak's eyes widened in shock.
"None of this would have happened if you had just used your fucking head!" He shouted, pupils dilated with aggression. "Are you happy now? We're all trapped here because of you!"
"Get off of me!" Lo'ak snarled, shoving harshly at his shoulders.
"Stop it!" Kiri cried, trying to step between them and coax them apart, but Neteyam refused to relinquish his hold or his glare.
"Cut it out," a foreign voice rang out in the white room, making them all pause. To their collective shock, the wall on the right lightened until it was completely transparent. The siblings warily huddled closer together as they saw two humans, a man and a woman, facing them on the other side of the window-like wall. Tuk wrapped her arms anxiously around Neteyam's waist.
The man clucked his tongue in annoyance, turning towards the woman. "See? This is why they should have been put in separate holding cells."
Neteyam felt Kiri's grip tighten on his bicep at their words.
"Would've been a waste of space," the woman huffed, quickly typing something on her laptop keyboard, before shutting it and giving them her full attention. Her stare was intense and very much unnerving.
"Where are we?" Surprisingly that had come from Lo'ak. His spine was rigid in an attempt at channeling their father's intimidating demeanor.
The man smirked, striding up closer to the glass barrier. "Far from home, kid. That's for sure."
"You can't keep us here," Kiri hissed, but Neteyam could feel her hands trembling against him. "Our clan will come for us and kill you all."
"That's what we're banking on," he chuckled, shoving his hands in his pockets as he whistled lowly. "We really lucked out with these ones, didn't we doc?"
Neteyam cursed under his breath. They were planning to use them as bait to lure his parents here. He needed to find a way to get in contact with them, but all of their communication devices had been taken away when they were thrown in here. Fuck.
"Don't entertain them," she snipped, giving him an unimpressed stare. "We're not here to play games. I actually have a job to do, if you haven't noticed."
"Trying to get rid of me already?" He put a hand over his chest, a mock wounded look downturning his lips.
"Yes," she replied bluntly.
"Come on," he jeered, waving his arm at them like they were some sort of freak show. "Don't tell me you want to be alone with the savages?"
Neteyam and Lo'ak bristled at the insult, baring their teeth. Tuk whimpered behind Neteyam's leg.
The woman glanced at them, wrinkling her nose in disgust as if she was instead looking at a giant, steaming pile of ikran dung. "Of course I don't, but I also don't want to be homeless," she gave him a pointed look, jutting her chin towards the exit. "Now, if you'll excuse me I have some work to do. Alone."
The man raised his hands in surrender. "Fine, fine," he chuckled, striding leisurely towards the door. He was almost there when he paused, turning around with a raised brow. "Coffee later?"
"Get out," she said flatly.
The door opened and closed, leaving the room blanketed in a tense silence. It was also then that she started behaving weirdly.
She began frantically shuffling through the objects on her desk, lifting papers and shifting around devices. After a few minutes of this, she seemed to come across what she was looking for: a small, round dark object about the size of her pinky nail—which she promptly threw on the ground and crushed under the heel of her boot. It made a small crunching sound as it succumbed to the pressure.
"Fucking Madden," she hissed under her breath.
After kicking away the debris, she lifted her gaze, staring at them contemplatively. She slowly approached the glass barrier, her features becoming more distinguishable the closer she got. The siblings tensed, not able to tell what she was going to do next.
"Believe it or not, I'm not here to hurt you," she said finally, her stare heavy and unwavering. "In fact, I'd say I'm your best ticket out of here."
Neteyam narrowed his eyes. He knew how the sky people were, heard stories of their greed and destructive nature and even witnessed it firsthand. She couldn't be doing this out of her own good will. Why would she risk her livelihood and possibly her life for them? "What do you want?" He growled. She had to be after something.
"Your names," she said simply.
"What?" They all reeled back in disbelief.
"Well, more specifically, I'd like to get to know more about you," she elaborated, the harsh look in her eyes softening into something that looked suspiciously like curiosity.
"Why are you doing this?" Kiri's voice wavered from beside Neteyam, staring warily down at the small woman. Well, small to them, at least.
For the first time, a genuine smile crossed the woman's face, taking them all by surprise. "Didn't your father ever tell you," she said, something unreadable twinkling in her eyes. "That Sullys stick together?"

A sudden loud chirp was what had woken you up from your peaceful slumber. Your ears folding down in a slight annoyance as you were so groggy.
You sighed tiredly, your nose stuffy and congested from your sleep. Your body felt so warm, you thought it was from the atmosphere of the cave.
Until, you felt the cool breath of someone from behind you.
You froze.
Who is that?
You had felt relieved once you remembered it was just Awpxey.
What left that relief short lived was the fact you had fallen asleep here, in this cave, all through the night, with Awpxey, exchanging kisses throughout the night, and you still haven’t said a thing to your parents. I mean how were you supposed to talk to them?
You were not home. And you were not going to wake them up in the middle of the night over the fact you couldn’t sleep.
But now you wish you had left some type of note. You were scared to return home. Gosh your parents are not going to be happy.
You knew that as soon as you walk through that hut entrance, your ass is as good as grass.
You’re done for. You’re gonna be on the worst punishments ever. This would be your first and very last time sneaking out.
If you even make it out of this, alive.
Awpxey’s head stirring had brought you back to reality, a deep sigh coming from his stuffy nose too.
You had stood up abruptly, your back weirdly warm due to his chest. But that was the last thing on your mind.
Guilt set in your stomach as you seen how he jerked due to your quick removal. He sat up, rubbing his eyes as he was trying to look at you but rub that itch out his eyes.
“Y/n?” Oh god… His morning voice was beyond fine.
“A-Awpxey… We-uhm, we fell asleep here. I have to get home, and I’m probably gonna be in trouble.” You ramble on nervously. When you looked down towards him to see why he was so quiet you found him already looking at you, a soft smile adorning his lips.
Awpxey proposed his idea. “Why don’t we go wash up first? Then I’ll walk you to your hut, and say it’s my fault you left and never went back in the first please, yeah?”
“No. No, that’s not fair for you to just take the blame lime that. I cant do that to you.”
“I’m doing it to myself, actually.”
Gosh when did everybody just start becoming such smartasses?
“Okay then, smartass. Since you know everything, fine then. You can do whatever you want. I don’t care.” You grumbled as you crossed your arms over your chest.
He smiled at you teasingly from the floor before standing and stretching. A yawn spread across your mouth as you heard his back crack.
You were caught off guard when Awpxey was just then in front of you, and pecked your lips.
You covered your mouth with both your hands in shock. His name coming muffled from behind your hands.
He stared at you confused, his head tilted as the skin of his eyebrow was raised on one side.
“You kissed me before I even washed my mouth!” You exclaim, your shock seemed so foreign to him, why was it so important.
Your mood felt more sour once you heard that familiar laugh. He was laughing at you, in your face. His head thrown pack with one hand slapped over his stomach kind of laugh.
“Boys are unsalvageable.” You mutter the comment to yourself, or at least it was supposed to be to yourself. In your daze of being annoyed at the fact Awpxey laughed at you, you didn’t notice when he had stopped.
Hands were suddenly around your waist from your front, scaring you. And there Awpxey was standing in all his glory, his tall stature hanging over you.
“What’s that supposed to mean, sevin?” You eyes widen at the question, and at the fact he had called you pretty.
There wasn’t must time to dwell on it before he smashed his lips against yours. His hands gently holding your waist, giving it four small squeezes.
Your hands soon moved up towards his shoulders, your arms wrapping behind his neck, deepening the kiss.
The kiss lasted for almost a good minute, before you realized neither of you had washed your mouths.
“Awpxey! That’s the second time!” You jump back after you separate from the kiss.
“What are you, a germaphobe or something?” He asked mockingly while rolling his eyes. You turned back to glare at him while you exited the cave.
You were glad there was a river close to where the cave was located as you submerged yourself knee-deep into the cool water.
It helped cool down your hot skin, so you had given in to your urge and went completely underwater.
The cold water enveloped you, your hair, your clothes, your jewelry, your whole body.
When you resurfaced, a small pant evident in your chest, you turned around to see Awpxey around shoulder deep into the water.
You swam towards him, catching his attention quick. A smile on both of your faces.
“Have you washed your mouth?” He asked matter-of-factly. And you responded just the same.
“Yes I have, have you?” You were expectant for his answer as what you wanted to say was on the tip of your tongue.
“I sure did.” He said with so much confidence.
“Hard to believe…” You mutter out purposely, hoping to get under his skin. Which you had.
“What did you say?” He leaned forward to you, turning his head to point his ear at you.
You placed your mouth right in front of his ear, speaking decibels louder. “Hard to believe.”
Awpxey moved back, shock on his face. “I’m offended Y/n.” He placed his hand on his chest.
“That’s okay.” You shrugged, a smile breaking out on your face.
“You’re so mean to me, makes me wanna kiss you.” You froze at his words.
“What?” You say blindly, shock written all over you.
“You heard me. Didn’t you?” He wasn’t be serious was he? He’s just trying to bother you for bothering him that’s all.
Yeah. That’s all.
But it wasn’t when he put his index finger under your chin, lifting your head so you look back up to his face.
“I said I wanna kiss you. Can I?”
You were speechless. Not really knowing what to say back to him, but you blindly nodded anyways.
“Can I hear you say it? I gotta know you’re functioning Y/n.”
Oh Eywa.
Somebody needs to come get this man.
“F-fine. You can kiss me.” You grumbled.
“Good.” Awpxey said with a smile.
His lips then connected with yours, his hands holding the sides of your face gently as the kiss deepened.
Your hands held onto his biceps, your legs felt weak under the water. His arms were working as your extra support.
You have never felt anything more intimate in your whole life.
This is what true love felt like.
This must be what your parents feel like, your grandparents. Your grandfather who you were never able to meet.
And the many generations before that. They had all felt true love. They all had their own intimate moments such as this. You’re experiencing that moment, right now.
“Awpxey.” You said breathlessly. He felt this way too right?
“Y/n.” His voice was so soft, it was smooth and sultry. A tone like no other.
“I want to ask you something, Y/n. If you don’t have a problem with that.”
You nodded, “it’s fine Awpxey, you can ask me.”
“Come,” he beckoned, “I want to ask you while sitting down somewhere.”
You nodded, following him out the water. You watched starstruck as water cascaded down his back. Going through and then out of the crevices and dips from his muscles.
Eywa took her time on him.
Before you knew it you were sat on a patch of grass not far from the river, Awpxey next to you.
“What was it you wanted to ask me Awpxey?” You didn’t want to rush him, your parents the last thing on your mind right now.
He took a deep breath, settling his nerves before he spoke.
“I want to start courting you.”
You did everything to stay still and to just look and listen so your body language didn’t send any of the wrong signs.
You gave a small smile and a nod as you noticed he had more to say.
Awpxey turned more towards you, grabbing your hand. Fidgeting with your fingers and the rings you wore, along with your bracelets.
“This is why I want to court you.” He starts.
“You read me so well, you read everybody so well. You notice the little things and always want to help!” You nod, letting him know that he has your full attention and that you’re listening to him.
“You’re so sweet, and kind, and beautiful. You can make anybody happy. You light up rooms when you walk in and your smile brightens everyone’s day. The elders love you since you are so kind. You’re humble! And they love that, I know I do.” You laugh at his small comment, trying not to cry at his sweet words.
“And the children.. The classes that you teach you can hear them when they talk to their parents, just raving about just how amazing you are, and how you’re so interactive and I just love you.” Your eyes widen.
“I love you. And I want to show it by courting you. So, I am asking for your permission. Y/n te Sulli Neytiri’ite, may I, Awpxey te Relongtai Puo’itan, court you?”
Your eyes well with tears. His words were so heartfelt. No one had ever said they loved you but your own family. To hear it from somebody else in that way caused this feeling in your chest that was so foreign and unexplainable you didn’t know what to do.
But you did know that you loved him, you loved Awpxey. So you nodded. You nodded accepting his request to court you.
“Y-Yes Awpxey. You can court me.” You wiped your tears as you laughed, feeling a bit embarrassed at your reaction.
He tackled you into a hug. Holding you tightly before his whispered a small ‘thank you’ into your ear.
“Does that mean we’re boyfriend and girlfriend now?” You asked into his shoulder.
“I guess so, but that’s only if you want to.”
“Then I guess we’re boyfriend and girlfriend.”
You both laid there, together. Enjoying your moment, until your eyes widened, realizing that you are still out here and your family has no idea where you are.
“Oh my god Awpxey!” You exclaimed, rushing to get up.
“What? What happened?” He got up just as frantically as you had.
“I have to go home! I haven’t went home, oh my god! Awpxey I’m gonna be in so much trouble! Oh my gosh, oh my gosh.”
Awpxey was quick to be at your side, holding your shoulders to calm you down.
“It’s gonna be okay. Everything’s gonna be okay, okay? Like I said earlier, I’ll take the blame. I’ll say it was apart of my plan when I was asking to court you, alright?”
You shook your head, “I can’t allow you to get in trouble like that! I’m not doing that to you!”
You were refusing, you know how your parents could get, you did not need the only man who had shown you true love and interest in you, to be chased away by your parents who are borderline-psychotic.
“Please Awpxey, I can’t lose you.” Your eyes had gotten teary again. And that’s when Awpxey realized how serious this was to you.
“Okay Y/n, okay. We’ll figure something out, I promise.” Awpxey pulled you to his chest, brushing your hair back from your face.
“I’m just gonna tell the truth… My mother always told me that the truth sets you free, so I’m gonna say what really happened.” You were dead set on not letting Awpxey lie for you. And he could see that, so he nodded, not wanting to upset you further.
“If that’s what you wanna do Y/n, you can do that. You know your family better than I do, you know their morals and what they believe.” Awpxey still held you, his chin resting on your head.
“We should go now…” You whispered meekly. “Go and get it over with.” There was an apology at the tip of your tongue. But you wanted to hold it, just in case you might really need to say it later.
“Okay, let’s go Y/n.” Awpxey held your hand the whole way. He talked to you and helped you take your mind off things for quite a bit.
You then realized that you were at the point where you would need your ikran to go back to High Camp.
“Awpxey, we need our Ikran now.. To go back.” You had gotten sad at even the thought of returning. You were scared to see how your parents would react.
Awpxey agreed, and had noticed your hesitation, so he placed his hand on your shoulder, rubbing it gently.
When you both had finished calling your ikran, and they had both arrived, you mounted them. Riding back to your home located in the Hallelujah Mountains.
Once you were there, and had landed your ikran, the amount of anxiety and trepidation inside your stomach was unreal.
As you two walked close to where your hut was you had stopped, shaking your head.
“Y/n? What’s wrong?”
“I can’t go in there Awpxey. I can’t go in there. They’re going to be so mad at me, so disappointed I can’t do this. I can’t, I really can’t.” You rambled out, your breath shortening as you panted.
“Y/n. Y/n, you need to focus. Okay? Look at me. Y/n look at me please.” Your eyes flickered to his. “You can do this, okay? Don’t ever say you can’t. Got it?”
“G-got it.” You nodded. “I-I’m going to go now, I want you to stay out here though Awpxey. I don’t.. I don’t want them to act different if you’re in there, okay?”
He nodded immediately, understanding your situation. “I got it Y/n. If anything, absolutely anything happens, come look for me. I’ll most likely be in my hut with my parents, okay?” You smiled.
“Okay Awpxey.” You hugged him, hugged him tight to savor his body warmth because you had no idea if that was going to be your last time seeing him.
“You’re going to be okay Y/n, go. I promise.” Yo nodded, waving goodbye to him before walking towards your hut.
You walked slow, your footsteps light as to not aware anybody in the hut.
When you had finally approached the entrance, walking through it slowly, your chest heavy and your mind hazy you stopped.
All heads turned to you quickly, your parents the first to stand. They rushed towards you, both exclaiming, “Y/n!” As they ran.
Your father grabbed you, turning you around and examining your body for any injuries, he had obviously, found none.
Your mother held your hand, pulling your head to her chest as she cried tears of joy at the fact you had come home, safe, and with no injuries.
“Where have you been ma’ite? We were all so worried for you!”
“I-I’m okay mom, I swear. This is a really, really big misunderstanding.” You held your hands out.
“Misunderstanding?” You dad echoed.
“Yes, misunderstanding. I want to explain you guys what happened first before you ask me anything though, okay?” Your parents nodded, they had beckoned your siblings out, though they protested as they wanted to see you too.
Your parents gave them the promise that they will see you later.
Awpxey watched from afar as he seen all your siblings walk out the hut, incoherent protests leaving their mouths.
‘Shit.’
Once they were all gone, and your father checked the area to see that they were really gone, you all sat at the table.
As your parents faced you, you fidgeted with your jewelry, scared to even look them in the face.
“Ma’ite? What happened? Why were you gone for so long?” Your mother asked. That’s when you finally looked up.
“I-It’s a little bit of a long story? I’m going to explain everything though.” Your father nodded, giving you his undivided attention.
“Last night, I could not fall asleep.” Your parents began to nod along to your story.
“So, I decided that I would go to the forest, to get my mind off of things.” You internally cringed as you seen your fathers eyes widen.
“I know, I know that it was really, really dangerous to leave with out saying anything and with the fact Sky People are here, I know. I hesitated at first. I was scared to even go. But I followed my gut. I think it was the best decision I ever made actually.” You said with a sheepish smile after your last sentence.
Your parents’ brows furrowed as they shared a look between each other.
“Anyway, while I was out there, about to bother the fan lizards, I had found Awpxey.” The name felt heavy on your tongue, worried about how your father would feel before anybody else.
“We hung out, and then he took me to this really pretty cave that had an open top so we watched the stars.” Your cheeks felt warm as you knew you were leaving some details out.
“We watched the stars and then fell asleep after a while, and when we woke up we washed at the river then came here.” You felt bad for worrying your parents, but at the same time you are so, so glad you left.
“Nothing like that happened either, dad. We only hung out, talked and stargazed. That’s it.” Toy father put his hands up.
“I-I never said anything.” He already looked so guilty, but you know you had put him on the spot.
“I know how you are, I just want to say it to clear any thoughts.”
After about 10 seconds you noticed your mother’s ongoing silence. You peeked up at her nervously, wondering why she hadn’t said anything.
You were shocked to see she had a smile on her face. Did she know?
“I’m glad it was only positive stuff that happened ma’ite, is there anything else you want to say?”
You choked as you remembered the fact Awpxey is now courting you.
“Babygirl?” Your dad asked.
“Uhm.. Yeah. One more thing..” You let out a nervous chuckle.
“Awpxeyaskedtocourtmesoweretechnicallykindofdatingnow!” You rushed out in one breath.
“What?” Your parents said simultaneously.
You took a deep breath. “Awpxey asked to court me. So.. We’re technically kind of dating now…”
Your eyes were shut. And you wanted to keep it that way.
You peeked through one squinted eyelid, just to see your mother holding your fathers head.
Your body slumped in as you stared on in disbelief.
“Sh, sh, sh, it’s okay ma’jake. It’s okay.” Your mother patted his head.
“Wha- Mom. What is even happening right now?” You jumbled out.
You then heard a hiccup. A deep one.
Is your father crying?
“Dad?” You asked worriedly.
When his head lifted to face towards you your heart broke. You had never seen your father cry in your 17 years of living. So to see his tearful face and swollen eyes, knowing you were the reason broke you.
“Dad.” Your eyes watered, hands clenching into fists at your side to try and hold them back.
“Oh babygirl, come here.” You both hugged, he held you close to him, and you cried into his shoulder. Happy to feel the familiar parental love and warm body that used to hold you when you were young.
The sensation had felt so far away at this point. It was heartwarming to feel it again.
Feel it as if you were little all over again.
“I’m sorry dad.” You didn’t know what exactly you were apologizing for, whether it was for making him cry, dating Awpxey or both. But regardless, you knew you had to apologize.
Your mother looked at you both with a smile on her face, an idea flashing in her head.
“You should invite him for dinner.” You and your father turned to look at your mother quickly. Both talking out at the same time.
“No!”
“Really?”
You look to your father quickly, trying to catch his eye as he avoided looking at you.
“I mean, uh. Yeah, uhm yeah. H-he should come for dinner, yeah.”
Your mother came forward, patting Jake on his shoulder. “You’ll be fine ma’Jake. I think it would be nice, think about it. We can see what he’s really like.”
You nodded, “please dad? He’s super nice, and respectful! He’s like a family man.” You had made sure to add the last comment because you knew it would win your dad over.
You could see the cogs in his brain working as he actually thought about it.
“Hmm.. Okay, okay fine he can come over for dinner.”
You jumped into his arms, knocking him onto his butt on the floor. “Thank you! Thank you, thank you! Thank you dad! I love you!” You kissed his cheeks and hugged him, he smiled as he hugged you back.
“You’re welcome, and I love you too babygirl.”
“Now go, go get him for dinner. Because I will start preparing it soon.” Your mother shooed you, and you left hastily with a new excitement as she was pulling you out the hut.
You walked around for a bit, looking for Awpxey’s hut when you finally noticed his father, Puo outside, hanging loincloths to dry.
You walk up to him speaking quietly as to not abruptly disturb him. “Excuse me, Mr. Relongtai?” He turned around at the call of his name.
“Oh, Y/n. Oel Ngati Kameie.” He said, doing the hand sign’s greeting. “Oel Ngati Kameie.” You greet back.
“What brings you here Y/n?” He asked.
So Awpxey hasn’t said anything to his parents. Good, that’s good. For right now at least.
“I was wondering if I could borrow Awpxey for dinner? My, uhm, my parents invited him over for dinner.” Puo had smiled at you.
“That’s fine with me! I’ll pack him a plate to take so he doesn’t go over there empty handed! Just go look for him inside and tell him to get presentable. Don’t need my son to look ugly if I’m handsome.” He mutters his last sentence sarcastically, chuckling at his own joke.
“If I’m being honest, he has your looks!” You gave a kind smile.
Puo paused, “really?” He asked, patting his cheeks. He smiled before running into the hut, yelling, “Itxä! Itxä! Y/n said Awpxey has my looks! That means I look young right?”
You peeked into the hut, seeing Puo kneeling next to Itxä who was re-braiding her hair.
“Puo! Get away from me! Go hang the clothes like I told you!” She was nudging him away with her elbow, still skillfully braiding her hair.
“But Itxä, you don’t think I’m handsome?” Puo asked with a frown.
“I mean, sometimes. It deducts points when you drool, you know unless-” She was cut off by Puo.
“Okay! Thanks by honey see you later!” He rushed back out the hut.
You finally noticed Awpxey in the corner, cringing at his mother’s innuendo.
“Mom really? Unless? Unless what? You know, don’t even answer I’m okay.” You giggled, a hand covering your mouth.
That had caught Itxä and Awpxey’s attention. Awpxey stood with a smile once he saw you.
“Y/n. Are you okay? Did everything go good?” He approached you, a nervous look in his eye.
You nodded happily, “yeah, everything went good. Really good actually. They want you to come over for dinner.”
Awpxey’s eyes widened. They wanted him to come over?
“R-really?” He was shocked, very shocked.
“Mhm! And I’m sure it’s with good intention! My mother proposed the idea and my father even agreed!” You fiddled with a bracelet on your arm.
“Mrs. Relongtai, is it okay if Awpxey comes over for dinner at my house?” You ask, knowing it would be rude to not even acknowledge her.
“Yes please, don’t even ask! It’s good he goes out. Or just gets out.” She adds quietly.
“What? Mom!” He turned to her, her head facing the wall to not look at him.
“What? I didn’t say anything!” She rolled her eyes. “Make sure you take a plate of food to offer to the Sully’s! Don’t even think you’re going over there empty handed slugging your shoulders.” You laughed, covering your mouth as it accidentally came out to loud.
“Y/n? You’re laughing too?” You placed your hand on his chest, still covering your mouth, shaking your head.
“No, no I was just, uhm..” You mumbled from behind your hand as you tried to think of an excuse.
“You’re hurting my heart Y/n.” Awpxey said walking away, going and packing a plate of what his parents had made for dinner.
“You’ll be fine, and make sure you tell the Sully’s I said hello, Awpxey!” Itxä called from the floor.
“I will, bye mom, love you!” Awpxey said as he started to leave the hut, you in tow.
“Bye, love you too!” She called back. As you walked by his father, he also said his farewells.
“Bye dad, love you.” He said as he intertwined his fingers with yours.
“Bye Awpxey, see you later, correct?” His dad teased. Awpxey pursed his lips in embarrassment.
“Yeah dad see you later.” Awpxey grumbled.
“See you son, love you.” Puo said before turning back around, continuing to hang up clothing items and other pieces.
“Love you too.” Awpxey then pulled you a long with him, walking to your hut.
“Awpxey?” You call for him.
“Hm?” He hums back in response.
“How do you know where I live?” You genuinely question. You weren’t trying to press him on anything personal, you just wanted to know.
“Y/n..” He says, his face was almost in a form of shock. “What?” You respond confused.
“Almost like everybody knows where you live… You’re a royal Y/n, even then, everybody knows where everybody lives. And your hut gets a bit rowdy with your siblings. Though it’s definitely not the biggest household.” You nodded in agreement at his last comment, you always wonder how the Ipexti Family is doing.
And wonder how they even managed 14 kids.
“Yeah that makes a lot of sense. I’m sure my brother kind of just lets everybody know doesn’t he?” You said with a small laugh.
You didn’t notice it, but Awpxey stared at you, looking at your smile, and all the features on your face.
Eywa took her time on her.
He had thought, he shook his head continuing to walk towards your house.
As you got closer, you slowed as you noticed your brother, Lo’ak, standing in the entrance of the hut. His arms crossed over his chest and his foot tapping impatiently on the ground.
“Oh God…” You mumbled as you seen him.
“Is that Lo’ak?” Awpxey asked, his eyes squinting as he smiled.
“Oh my God. Just walk by or something, cover your face so he doesn’t see us.” You muttered as you placed a hand to cover the side of your face.
“Y/n!” A voice suddenly yelled out. You did not turn your head as you knew exactly who it was.
“Y/n Sully!” Lo’ak continued to yell.
Now you see why everyone knows where you live.
You walked even slower towards your home. Awpxey laughed, seeing how you felt embarrassed.
Once you were finally near the entrance, you had noticed Neteyam stand up from the table and stand behind Lo’ak. Once you were in front of Lo’ak, he squinted his eyes to Awpxey.
“And who are you?” Lo’ak sneered at him.
“Lo’ak!” But your call had fallen on deaf ears.
Awpxey opened his mouth to answer, but was silenced when a hand rose up towards his face.
“Save it. I want to know what you’re doing with my sister. And why you’re here, holding her hand.” Lo’ak poked his chest, his eyes trained solely on Awpxey.
“Lo’ak.” You let out a low warning, Neteyam seemed to notice how serious you gotten. So he reached forward and placed a hand gently around Lo’ak’s elbow.
Awpxey raised his hands in surrender, balancing the covered plate of food in his other.
“I come in no harm. I’m here with your sister for this dinner and to meet your family.” Awpxey explained.
“Meet us for what? Are you trying to mate her?” Lo’ak jabbed his finger back into Awpxey’s chest, and his eyes widened at Lo’aks question, not even the gesture.
That’s when Neteyam pulled Lo’ak back by his elbow, turning him around and pushing him into the hut.
“That’s enough.” He said to Lo’ak, still gripping onto his arm. Lo’ak pulled his arm back, walking to the table and sitting down.
“I apologize for his behavior, he doesn’t usually act like this.” Neteyam said, facing Awpxey with an apologetic smile.
“That’s alright, I can see why he’s upset.” Awpxey smiled.
When Neteyam had finally looked away, you turned to Awpxey, “I’m sorry about him. Don’t let him make you upset he does that to everybody really.”
Awpxey laughed, “it’s okay Y/n, I really don’t have have a problem with it.” He said with a smile.
You nodded, giving a nervous smile back. When you faced back towards the hut, grabbing his hand gently. You were shocked to see how everyone in the hut had a stiff face.
Your mother and father included.
What happened to the happy go lucky moods they had earlier when they told you to invite him?
You sighed, already feeling defeated in some way.
You just hoped he didn’t want to leave you.
Approaching the table, you sat in your usual spot, making sure that there was enough space for Awpxey before looking at everyone.
No one was batting an eyelash at you, everyone was looking at Awpxey. Their faces serious. It shocking to you to see even Tuk staring at him with her face hard from next to you.
She grabbed onto your arm, hugging herself around it and resting her head in your bicep, your hand instinctively coming to the top of her head.
You couldn’t see it, but Tuk smiled to the other side of the table. To your siblings that sat on the other side, expectant.
They must have not taken the news of you bringing a boy home too kindly.
The tension in the air was so thick, and you could see it was working Awpxey’s nerves as he rubbed his hands up and down his thighs.
Though he was the first to break the silence, “I brought a plate of fwampop, I helped my mother make it for dinner. I don’t know if any of you like that, so I apologize if you don’t. I’m sure it should still be warm.” He pulled the wrapping off the top of the plate, showing the seasoned meat, steam elevating as the barrier was released.
“Fwampop is fine.” It was Kiri’s voice who cut into the air next. You noticed her posture and realized how intimidating she actually looked. Her arms crossed over her chest as she looked at Awpxey, the usual warm expression she wears, gone.
“Yeah, thank you.” Tuk said as she leaned forward, making sure to be in his line of sight as her tone wasn’t the most, welcoming.
Your mother gave an expectant look towards your brothers, making them flicker their eyes to each other before looking back at Awpxey.
“Thank you.” It wasn’t exactly rude, but it wasn’t nice either. You’ve never heard them sound so passive aggressive.
“It was very nice of you to bring us something, Awpxey.” Your mother broke her characteristic silence, her voice calming and comforting as she nodded her head Awpxey.
“Now, how about we eat, yeah?” Your dad asked, placing his hand around Neytiri’s waist, pulling her closer.
You all hummed and nodded in agreement.
When you all began to serve yourselves, saying a quick prayer before eating, you took the time to look around. Seeing that the atmosphere had lightened up somewhat, they were making their own conversations. In their own little worlds.
So you took that as an opportunity to talk to Awpxey.
“Hey..” You whisper, bumping his knee with yours. He turns his head, responding in a quiet “hm?” As he finished the food he was chewing.
“You okay?” You continue to whisper, keeping your head as straight as possible while still attempting to look at him.
“Yeah I’m good.” He whispered back, nodding.
“Good.” You nodded, giving him a smile before returning back to your food.
Once you all began to approach the end of your meals, you noticed everybody start to sit up straighter, clearing their throats.
Oh God.. The questions were to start now…
“So Awpxey..” Your father started, Awpxey already had his head up, his eyes and ears focused on your father to catch every word he said.
“What do you do? For the clan?” He finished.
Awpxey cleared his throat, “I am a Warrior.” Your father’s eyes widened for a split moment.
“Warrior?” Awpxey nodded. “Yes sir, I am.”
“How come..” Your father’s eyebrows were furrowed. “How come I’ve never seen you?”
Awpxey smiled, “I guess I’m not that important, or just unnoticeable.” You wrapped your fingers around his, your face scrunching in confusion.
His smile.. He looked so dejected, his eyes having a dog-tired look swirling in his irises.
You didn’t care if anyone at the table got mad at you for showing some type of ‘affection’ towards Awpxey.
Neytiri looked at the both of you, a smile on her face as she noticed the slight movement under the table.
“You work along side your father?” Your dad asked, wanting to change the subject as he as well noticed the expression on Awpxey.
Awpxey nodded, “most of the time, unless we’re assigned apart to different groups.” Your father hummed and nodded.
Neytiri cleared her throat quietly, bringing the attention of everyone to her.
“I made kalin paste. If anybody wants any?”
Everyone around the table quickly nodded. Your mother looked towards Jake, pointing her chin to the pot that held the paste.
“And don’t eat it all while you’re over there.” Your fathers ears twinged purple in embarrassment.
“I won’t..” He muttered, his lips pursed as he walked to the steaming pot.
Minutes later, you all had your own servings of the kalin paste. Lo’ak with the most on his plate.
As you finished up your plate, you took the time to look around at your family.
Neteyam, he was in his own world, Lo’ak, he was still scraping for scraps of the paste on his plate, Kiri, she was fiddling with something in her hands, your parents, who were talking with their hands in front of their face as if they were gossiping like teenagers.
Which they were.
Now on your right, closest to your parents was Awpxey. And you were unprepared when you turned your head to look at him to find him already staring at you.
“Hey..” He whispers, a smile on his face.
“Hi.” You whisper back, the same smile mirroring onto your face.
“Can you tell your mom that her kalin paste is the best I’ve had? It’s really good, please tell her.” You smiled, your hand coming to cover it as you nodded in agreement.
“What are you doing?” As he asked, you hesitated in answering, but you had already decided.
“People Watching.” You say with an embarrassed smile.
“People Watching?” Awpxey echoes curiously. You were relieved when you didn’t hear any type of disgust or disappointment in his tone or face. He was genuinely curious.
“It’s where you kind of just, uhm, you know. Watch people? But it’s not that simple. You- you mostly actually observe them. And think, think a lot about what they’re like, or what they can be like. What they could be like. You evaluate them, study, but on a emotional and physical note? When you People Watch, you aren’t supposed to judge, because all it is, is an observation, and thinking.” As you end your rambling, you bring a hand to your mouth and squeeze it tightly, not even for a second.
It was an unfortunate habit you developed young when you realized you talked to much.
Awpxey noticed, and in an attempt to distract you, he grabbed your hand gently. Intertwining your fingers together.
“That’s really cool.” He squeezes your hand, a toothy smile adorning his lips.
“You think so?” Your eyes search his, looking for any type of sign that could show he’s lying.
“Of course! How long have you been doing this?”
“My whole life. It’s actually like a hereditary thing. Mostly between the females in my family. My grandma, her mom, my mom, my late aunt, my sisters do it too, only sometimes. And my brothers.” You roll your eyes at the me ruin of your brothers, thinking of mostly Lo’ak. He stares at people. Little weirdo.
You hoped, hoped that this genetic trait didn’t scare him away and make you look even more like the weirdo you are.
It doesn’t, it really doesn’t.
All these little things you tell him, these details. He eats it all up, saving it to his memories and saving it to learn more about it later.
He was planning to try and do this “People Watching” trick when he got home, or when his stomach wasn’t as full.
Maybe he could try it with his parents? His friends while they train, or just strangers around the clan.
Though nobody in this clan is really a stranger.
“I wanna try it,” he frowned. You laughed, “why are you frowning? You could try it now if you want? With my parents and siblings? But you might be too tired, kalin paste is heavy on the stomach.” He nodded in agreement.
“Can I do it tomorrow? I really wanna try it.” He slouched.
You smiled, “you can do it tomorrow. I think you’ll enjoy it.”
Awpxey smiled, looking at yours. His eyes trailed your face, looking at your lips.
It was as if his surroundings melted, Awpxey was stuck in a white space with just you. His hand squeezed yours tighter, eyes moving across your face in a triangular motion.
When he began to raise his hand to try and caress your chin, everything rushed back to him.
He’s still in your family’s hut, still sitting at your dining table, still with your family.
“Oh, uhm.” He stumbled, his hand slowly coming back down, lightly slapping against his lap.
You let out a small chuckle, wondering what was going through Awpxey’s head at this exact moment.
“Awpxey?” You mutter quietly, a small giggle escaping your mouth as you see him come back to reality, blinking a bit too hard.
“S-sorry Y/n..” He stuttered, you began to nod in response, opening your mouth to say something before something brushed against your back, skin brushed against your back.
You turn your head to look behind you, only to be met with a swaying Tuk, a drowsy weighed-down look on her face.
“Tuk?” Your sister took your attention from Awpxey. Though he had no problem with that with how questionable Tuk’s state was.
“Is she okay?” But Awpxey’s voice only echoed in the back of your mind, right now, the only thing you can think of is Tuk.
“Tuk? Tuk what happened?” You grasped her cheeks in your hands, turning her face towards you. You could tell she was mumbling something, but you could not see what.
“What are you saying Tuk? What happened?”
“A-ate to much… Ate to much kalin paste.. Stomach hurts and I’m very tired…” She mumbled.
You felt a bit relieved as you realized it wasn’t anything serious, but the fact she was in pain made you sad.
“Okay then Tuk,” you laugh. “I’ll go put you to bed, okay?”
All Tuk was able to offer back was a simple nod.
You stood up, scooping Tuk up in a bridal style. She was obviously very, very tired by the way she snuggled her head closer to your chest, curling up in your arms.
When you reached the sleeping mats, you placed Tuk on her respective mat, tucking her in, saying a quick prayer before you placed a kiss on her forehead and left.
When you arrived back at the table, your parents had asked you what happened with Tuk, which you explained.
“She ate to much kalin paste and got dizzy? But she was swaying and said her stomach hurt, oh, and that she was tired. So I just put her to bed.”
Your mother smiles and nodded in appreciation, you always made things a bit easier for her around the house.
You loved helping out, it would make you feel complete when you were always able to help people.
Awpxey watched you, he watched quietly as he seen you walk back to the table, an empty spot now behind you where Tuk was previously sat.
“Sorry about that. I just get really worried about my siblings.” You rub your hand against your forearm embarrassingly, not noticing Awpxey’s smile.
“Don’t apologize for it, it’s okay.” He messed with his loincloth. You smile, flashing a tired smile.
Awpxey had noticed, seeing the small bags under your eyes. “Hey, do you want me to go now? You look pretty tired.” Your eyes flicker to his, now at the fact it was pointed out, you started to feel sluggish. Your eyes struggling to keep themselves open as the kalin paste started to push down on your stomach.
“You know what? Now that you said that, I actually feel super tired.” You rub your eye, holding back a yawn in your throat. Awpxey smiled at you, “I’ll tell your parents.”
He turned towards your parents, who were still in their conversation, trying to find a part to speak to them without interrupting.
“Excuse me Mr. and Mrs. Sully?” Your parents stop, looking towards Awpxey, “yeah honey?” Neytiri says with a smile.
“I’m going to be heading home now, Y/n’s very tired and I don’t want to hold your family up any longer.” Neytiri and Jake both smiled, nodding their heads toward Awpxey.
“Okay Awpxey, be careful and make it home safe, okay?” Your mom said. Awpxey nodded, “I will Mrs. Sully! Thank you for having me for dinner, it was very good, and your kalin paste is the best!” Neytiri and Jake laughed together, your father nodding in agreement.
You smiled, getting up to walk Awpxey to the entrance of the hut. But what you didn’t know was that Kiri had also gotten up, following you both out the hut.
Right when you were about to wish Awpxey a goodnight and send him off, your sister, Kiri had rounded the corner coming to a stop at your side.
“Kiri? Is something wrong?” Your sister shook her head, looking forward to Awpxey.
“I wanted to bring him this, here you go Awpxey.” Your sister pushed an object into Awpxey’s hand.
Awpxey looked down at it, holding and feeling the smoothed surface of the object, not being able to tell what it was straight away.
“It’s a Lepidolite, a peace stone, it brings good luck. I’m giving it to you now that you are in a relationship with my sister, so you are both stable enough to take care of each other.” Kiri said with a sincere nod. Awpxey smiled, “thank you Kiri. That’s very thoughtful of you.”
You watched with smile, seeing how Awpxey fidgeted with the polished surface of the lilac-gray crystal.
“Goodnight guys, see you in the morning Y/n.” Kiri waved the both of goodbye, walking back into the hut and heading towards the sleeping mats.
You waved her goodbye, turning back towards Awpxey, feeling shy.
“Too quiet to say goodnight to me now too?” Awpxey teased as he leaned down to your face, trying to catch your eyes.
You giggled, “be quiet Awpxey.” Your cheeks burning as you smiled hard.
You turned your head up in his direction, smiling as you tried to hold back a laugh and make eye contact with him.
“Goodnight Awpxey, get a good nights rest, okay?” He nodded, reciprocating. “You too Y/n, sleep well..”
You both stood in a small silence, it was comfortable and not awkward. Awpxey was the one who made the initiating move and leaned forward, planting a small kiss on your lips.
You were quick to kiss him back, making sure not to leave his lips stranded for too long.
When you both parted, a small ‘smooch’ sound indicating that your lips separated, you stood with your hands clasped together behind your back.
“Goodnight Y/n.”
“Goodnight Awpxey.”
After finally saying goodnight, Awpxey walked back home, smiling all the way back to his hut. Happy to see his parents together in their sleeping mat.
When you were done recollecting yourself outside of your hut, you walked back inside. Shocked to find all the plates put away, hanging to dry.
When you walked toward the family room, looking to see where everyone went. You were not shocked to see everybody already asleep, tangled in their own bedrolls.
You were happy to see your parents together in their sleeping mat.
Getting into your mat and tucking yourself in, you reflected on your day. Thinking about how it was a really good day and how your family accepted Awpxey.
You yawned, turning on your left side as your eyes began to shut due to your tiredness.
Warmly, you let your body succumb to the drowsiness you felt.

Picasso II: Dad!JakeSully
Avatar Masterlist
word count: 1.4k
Request: Part Two of Picasso Part I, about how after they leave and arrive at the reefs. Like how would they react when they see Y/n's style and dyed hair? How they start living, adapting, and how both chiefs are with them and stuff. Just everything, let your imagination run wild!
A/N: This was supposed to be Ao'nung x reader, but I could help but think about what if Daughter reader fell in love with an original character from the Metkayina clan who loved her for how different she was.
OC: Äeka Te Veha Toi'itan
Tumblr media
After nearly weeks of traveling on their ikrans, y/n's family had finally arrived in Awa'atlu, desperately seeking Uturu to get away from war. With an inaudible sigh, she shuffled closer to her twin, his heavy arm immediately coming to wrap around her tense shoulders, effectively grounding her as she wondered what was going to happen here. As she listened to her parents trying to plead for their sanctuary when her eyes landed on a boy about her age staring at you and your family. Y/n had to admit he was very pretty, he offered her a small smile as she smile back at him before turning back towards her family, hoping she would get to see more of him soon.
"These children aren't even true Na'vi." The Tsahìk said harshly as she held one of Lo'ak's hands in the air making y/n and Neteyam glare at her.
The following weeks had been a struggle for the whole family, but especially you and your siblings as some of the clan kids liked giving you guys a hard time for being different from them but not Tsierya she had become your best friend and the beautiful boy that y/n saw during their arrival was named Äeka he was a warrior in training like Neyetmam and he was so kind to them especially her. He would often seek her out during chores, or after training loving to sit and talk with her while she painted or drew, he has a lot of her artwork.
Speaking of her artistic abilities, y/n more often than not was in the artist's tent working on her drawings or learning about their styles and how they do the tattoos that they have. One day y/n had been in there after her chores roughly sketching a tattoo when Ronal saw it.
"That is very good my child, would you have any interest in learning how to do the tattoos on the skin?" She asked the young girl.
"I would love to actually." Y/n said as Ronal motioned for her to follow her over to her station where she already had a client.
A few days later Äeka had been searching all over for y/n, the young warrior had grown quite fond of the girl since her and her family arrived and not to mention how pretty she was and how different she was from the other Na'vi. He finally found her playing on the beach with her younger sister Tuk, who was building a sandcastle with a bucket of shells sitting by you two and as he got closer to you guys, he noticed that the pink was missing from your hair which made him frown.
"Hi y/n, hi Tuk. What are you girls up to this evening?" He asked as you looked up at him with a smile.
"Hi Äeka, we're just working on building a sandcastle and we're gonna decorate with these shells. Would you like to join us?" You asked him as he nodded his head taking a seat next to you.
"No pink today?" He asked you as you guys worked on the sandcastle.
"Uh no, I took it out. Not many people here are fond of it, as they like to remind me." You said quietly as Äeka frowned wondering who dared to say anything to you about your hair because he loved it.
"That's a shame, I always thought it made you the prettiest girl here." He said as y/n felt her cheeks warm at his word making her lower her head.
"Really?" Y/n asked him.
"Really, don't listen to what others say. They fear what they don't understand." He said brushing some of her hair out her face.
"You know my dad said the same thing to me." Y/n said.
"Well, he's right, so please consider putting the color back in your hair." He said as y/n nodded her head.
They spent the rest of the afternoon playing with Tuk and talking with each other until the eclipse started to happen and the two girls had to head home much to their dismays but Äeka offered to walk them home just to squeeze in a few more minutes with y/n.
Meanwhile, Jake had been outside the Mauri waiting for his kids to return when he saw y/n and Äeka laughing and talking while they walked home with Tuk a few steps in front of them, while it made him happy to see his baby girl smiling...it also stressed him a bit to think about her dating already.
"So you and Äeka?" Jake asked y/n not so subtly making Neytiri shake her head at him.
"Relax Dad, we're just friends nothing more. So please calm down." Y/n said making her mom laugh as she entered the Mauri.
"Hey, Mom?" Y/n asked her mother as they cleaned up from dinner while her dad was out of the home.
"Yes, sweetheart?" She asked.
"I was wondering if maybe tonight or tomorrow you could help me put the pink back in my hair? If you don't mind." She asked.
"Of course dear, we can work on it tonight while your dad is asleep, so it just stays between us and we don't have to hear how right he is." Your mom said making you laugh.
That night after her dad went to sleep, her mom helped her put the pink back in her hair promising not to out to let her dad know that he was right and that  Äeka may or may not have played a hand in it as well. Y/n woke up that morning and ate her breakfast feeling her father’s eyes on her as she ate.
“Babygirl, I’m glad to see you put the pink back in your hair.” He said.
“Thanks dad. I just missed having it there and plus it’s kinda annoying how many times people have thought I was Nete.” She said as she finished up.
“So this had nothing to do with what I said?” He asked her as her and her siblings shared a look.
“Umm not really no! Look at the time, I got chores to do! Bye mom, bye dad!” She said running out laughing as Jake shook his head in disblief.
“Nice try! You know I was right about your hair!” He yelled after her making her laugh.
"Y/n." Tonowari said causing the young girl to turn and look at Chief and bow her head at him.
"Tonowari, how may I help you?" She asked wondering what the chief wanted from her.
"Your father and  Äeka  have both come and told me about your artistic skills and I was coming over here to see if you would have any interest in becoming one of the clan's artists?" He asked shocking y/n.
"You want me to do the tattoos and everything?" She asked making sure she was understanding him right.
"Yes in addition to your father and Akea, my wife has always told me about how you have been studying the art of our clans and learning how to tattoo. I think you would excel in this area if you wish." He said.
"I would love to. Thank you so much for this opportunity!" Y/n said shaking his hand.
"Of course. Tomorrow morning just head to the artist's tent and they will get you all set up." He said before leaving.
Äeka had been finishing up his daily chores when he heard footsteps approaching making him look up and see y/n approaching him making him smile as he greeted her.
"You put the pink back in your hair." He said with a smile.
"Yeah I did...turns out you and my dad were right..but don't tell him I said that." She said making him laugh as he agreed.
"So Tonowari offered me a job today." She said making him listen with interest as he had been speaking highly of her art skills to the Olo'eyktan.
"He did? What kind of job did he offer you?" He asked her softly holding her hand.
"He offered me a job as an artist for the clan, thanks to recommendations from you, Ronal, and my dad about my art." She said with that smile that he swore he never get tired of seeing on her face.
"That's amazing sweetheart! Congratulations, I know that you are going to do so well." He said hugging her.

Sweet Visions of a flower
Summary: Syulang (OC), an orphaned girl after the destruction of Hometree. She is constanly reminded of this by her amputated left leg and constantly dreams of her deep trauma. Even when she gets adopted by Toruk Makto and his wife, who she resented for over six years before forgiving him.
A/N: We are almost at the end now (I hope). And I'll post a one-shot before uploading The Humans of Awa'atlu or another series that just starting. Also just a heads up; I'll be taking a break from the 4th to the 11th of May, I will continue to upload even when I'm not writing using the automatic uploads system, hopefully, it works because I'm not using the internet for a whole week. Finger's cross until then. But for now, here's part 8!
Part 8 of 10
Tumblr media
Neytiri put her hand on her oldest daughter's shoulder and arm, trying her hardest to calm her. In her attempt Neytiri started singing, her voice slightly quivered as she raised her voice over her daughters crying, she leant closer to her ear singing to distract Syulang. She brushed the hair of her daughter away from her face and planted a soft kiss on her forehead, Syulang calmed down enough that Neytiri softened her voice down, repeating the lyrics to the song.
Jake entered with his children in tow. Arriving next to Syulang, hushing her down and rubbing her left leg to try to ease the pain. When Mo’at finally entered the tent a while later, she found the whole family there next to Syulang. Jake quietly left Syulang’s side to talk to Mo’at.
“It was like I entered her dream,” he was still in disbelief of what happened, “I saw Eytukan, and Tsu’tey. They said that they feared her soul would not reach Eywa if or when she dies.”
“This is truly concerning. We'll have to go to the Tree of Souls, I’ll be able to enter her dream there. I believe I could help her,” Mo’at rubbed her chin as she thought, “This is decided, I will enter her dream tonight. But in the meantime, I suggest you go on about your duties as Olo’eyktan.”
“Yes, Tsahik. And thank you,” Jake took one last look at Syulang. Taking off to deal with Quaritch and his group of Dreamwalkers.
Taking arms again, he called for a few of his warriors and Tarsem, his Olo’eyktan in training. Taking flight on their ikrans, they flew to another smaller floating island, hoping the RDA hadn't found them yet.
Landing in the trees. Jake and the group jumped down onto the floating rock. The recombiants all bound to different trees. Jake made his way to Quaritch, squatting down to look into his eyes.
“So you finally decided to show up,” Quaritch sneered.
“Your lucky I didn't leave you here to just starve,” Jake stoically said.
“Why wouldn't you? You already betrayed your own race, I bet you’d do it again,” the colonel's southern twang drawled. Jake scoffed at that. “Now why don't you answer my question? How did’ya know we were gonna be here?” Quaritch repeated, for the fourteenth time.
“Let's just say Eywa gave me a sign,” Jake shrugged, “Now tell me, who sent you here?” Quaritch snickered.
“Remember Ardmore?”
“Heard of her, never met her.”
“Oh yeah, she’s back. Wants you dead, same as me. Same as everyone here,” Quaritch leant a little bit to look at his team, who were staring daggers at Jake.
“Is that why you're here…in this body? To kill me?”
“Oh…It's not just you Jake. You're mate too…Let's just say, we wanna end your bloodline, that means your kids too.” Quaritch sneered, Jake stiffened. His eyes burning with a rage he had never felt before.
“Well, thanks for the heads up,” Jake nodded to Tarsem and the other warriors who drew their knives at the recoms, poking the tip of it at the recoms neck.
“You dare–” Quaritch began to say.
“Or what? No one is coming for you. Where’s Ardmore huh? She’s not here, and I'll more than happily send you and your soldiers back in body bags. Especially after you threatened me!” Jake yelled at Quaritch to which he snarled, “So do you all want a quick or slow death? Take your pick.” Jake pointed his assault rifle at Quaritch’s head, ready to pop some bullets into his head.
Everyone was bug-eyed and silent, Quaritch knew he was fucked. He had no more options, only death. But there was a third option that the adults didn't see, they were too bloodthirsty. That third option came in the form of Syulang flying onto the island.
“Father!” Syulang shouted, sliding off her ikran running into the fray, “Stop! It doesn't have to end this way! Please, listen to me before you make a mistake.”
“Syulang! You should not be here!” Jake stood, yelled at his daughter.
“Please, just listen to me. There's another way, please,” Syulang stepped between Jake and Quaritch.
“No! There isn't! This guy! This guy…!” Jake pointed at Quaritch, “He wants us dead, he wants your mother, your siblings dead!”
“Please, There’s another way,” She begged, “There is another way. Another way that doesn't end with death,” she said in English this time. Jake panted, his heavy breath fogged a little from the altitude. He sighed deeply, exhaling through his nose.
A small movement from above caught his eye, looking up he saw an atokirina’. A seed of the great tree floating down onto Quaritch’s head. Syulang gasped with wide eyes a little, her hand covering her mouth in disbelief, catching Jake’s attention, he turned to see the same scene happening to the other recoms. An atokirina’ gently landing on their heads, his warriors’, Tarsem looking around to all the recoms with the seed of the great tree upon their heads. Finally they floated off at the same time. Tarsem and the warriors removed their knives from the recom’s neck, taking a step back awaiting further instructions.
“Eywa has spoken,” Syulang turned to Quaritch, “If you want to live. You must turn your back on those who control you. You are no longer human, you have been given a second chance at life. And in order to do that, you must become Na’vi.”
“You’re asking me to betray humanity?” Quaritch looked up at the girl, his eyebrow raised in questioning.
“You are no longer Human. We Na’vi have a saying; ‘Fwäkì ke fwefwi’. It means: Mantis doesn’t whistle; don’t expect someone to do something that isn’t in their inherent nature…Or something like that,” Syulang explained.
“The hell does that mean?”
“You are Na’vi, it is your nature. Everything you knew no longer matters. The blood that runs in your veins is Na’vi. Your body, Na’vi,” Syulang crouched to Quaritch’s form, “But, your heart,” she pointed to his chest, “Your mind,” she pointed to his head, “Your memories remain human. Everything that happened in the past, is the past.” She looked down to her amputated leg before continuing, “You can choose to let your past consume you, or give you a reason to change your heart.” She turned to look at Jake. Her father. “That day when Hometree fell, you took more than just my leg. You killed my family. And I blamed Jake, I blamed you. But in time I forgave him, he gave me a reason to keep living. Even every day when I'm in pain, I still…keep…going.”
The look in Quaritch’s eyes changed, almost sympathetic. So did Jake’s.
“It was Eywa’s plan. It has always been her plan,” Syulang finished, standing up from her crouched position. Jake moved closer to Syulang wrapping his arm around her shoulders, giving a comforting rub. A silence fell upon the crowd. Quaritch was thinking, weighing his options. He fucking hates Ardmore, has had enough of taking orders. Heck, he just wants a simple life, he wants to stop fighting too. He was just following orders, and now he’s been given that exact opportunity that he so desperately craved. He knows the recoms would follow him, they trust him after all but he’ll still ask them.
“I'm done fighting. What do you guys think?” Quaritch asked out loud, enough for the other recoms to hear. They didn't say anything at first, probably considering following Quaritch.
“Me too,” it was Lyle, “I didn't want to be reborn like this, following orders again when I should've stayed dead.” A few chorused his statement, agreeing with him.
A flurry of “I'm done fighting too” and “me too” responses or something to the same tune from the other recoms. Falling silent again. Jake was speechless, and Syulang smiled.
“The RDA will come back. They'll come looking,” Jake reminded them, “There’ll be more bloodshed.”
“I know. Like I've never seen it before,” Quaritch scoffed. He sighed, taking a moment before saying words Jake would've never heard in a billion years come from Quaritch, “I'm sorry. You’re right. I'm sorry for threatening you too…and your family.”
“I still don't trust you though,” Jake stated.
“Yeah, I know.” Then came something from Jake that Quaritch never expected, “Cut them loose. Cut their restraints. You'll stay here. We’ll bring you food, water and new clothes, but no weapons…not yet, anyways. Until we figure out what to do with the RDA, we’ll come to you with our plans.”
***
Returning to High Camp, Jake couldn't help but look at his oldest daughter. He thought he could see Tommy in her, though she wasn't related by blood, but it was as if she had Tommy’s spirit. He also saw himself in her, her words still resounding in his brain. ‘You can choose to let your past consume you or give you a reason to change your heart.’ Even her physicality, it reminded him of his human form. How fragile it was, how he destroyed himself further by using alcohol to deal with his problems, but also how he was given a second chance to live through Tommy’s avatar.
Neytiri was waiting at the entrance of High Camp, full of nervous energy and agitation. Syulang took off when no one was watching and Neytiri and the rest of the children searched the whole of High Camp looking for her, climbing all the high spots to get a better view of the whole camp. So to see her return on her ikran with Jake and the warriors Neytiri was overjoyed that she was safe. Enveloping her in a crushing embrace.
“Urgh, Mom! You’re crushing me,” Syulang croaked out, Neytiri fussed whilst looking over every inch of her oldest daughter making sure there was not a single scratch. It looked like Neytiri was about to explode when Jake pried his wife off Syulang.
“Ma Neytiri, she’s fine,” Jake hushed his wife, taking a step away before looking at Syulang, “How did you know where to find us? We never told anyone.”
Syulang averted her eyes, “I…Uh. I had another vision?”
“Damn. You're gonna become the next Tsahik at this rate,” Jake chuckled, though he was still a bit angry that she left the healing tent and High Camp. “How did ya know what to say to Quaritch? Was that also in the vision?”
Syulang just nodded, looking down at her feet. A smirk grew on Jake's face.

Mo'teya's First Crush
I really have no idea how I feel about this one. Kinda don't like it, not gonna lie. Maybe it's because I really ship Mo with Aonung.
But here is how I think Mo's first crush would go. Don't forget to tell me what yall think!
Words: 1462
Tumblr media
Mo'teya always drifted towards people with strength and bravery. She clung to her parents, the strongest people she had ever met. She basked in her father's protection, not bothered by it like Kiri had become. She loved when Lo'ak and Neteyam would hold her hand as they explored the forest and even became sad when she no longer rode her mother's Ikran. Maybe it was because she was constantly afraid of being let down. She was constantly disappointed and put down in her early youth, so she sought strength to idolize.
So it was no surprise she often watched Kalo, a boy with incredible talent and sure to become a warrior, and her brothers train. Kalo was tall, taller than most children their age. He had long hair with very few beads going from red to orange. His jaw was strong and his eyes burned a light hazel color, much paler than the normal Na'vi yellow. She liked his eyes that did not falter in the face of her father, a truly intimidating male. He was incredible with a bow and often caught many small game. He always showed her the results of his hunt
He and Neteyam were the best of their age, the best of the upcoming adults to be welcomed into the clan. So it was no surprise when Kalo began to watch Mo'teya.
He watched as she looked over the young children or the clan. Always had a child in her arms and at her feet. He watched as she taught her little sister how to sign a word and listen to the wind. He studied her distinct markings, wondering if Eywa painted them on herself, or as a result of Mo'teya's past. He liked her pretty eyes that glowed with the plants and animals around her. He liked her shy smile when he waved to her, always smiling back no matter how he felt. Being around her was like standing in front of a blazing fire, searing and melting. It was no surprise to see them together, walking and talking and smiling.
It was a surprise in the eyes of two young brothers, though.
Neteyam landed his Ikran with the rest, nodding to his father and brother as they joined him. They had come back from a long hunt, tired but successful. Each had something to offer the clan tonight. Others came to welcome the party home, taking the game and Ikran to their respective places. Two girls raced to greet the Sullys and hugged their father. Jake laughed and hugged the girls back, brushing out their hair. Both girls looked at the man, not letting go of his legs.
"What did you bring back?" Kiri asked, pulling away from the hug. She looked at Bob, her father's Ikran, and watched a woman pull the Yerik off him. Mo'teya peeked around her father and eyed the animal.
"I brought Yerik…why are you girls looking at it like that?" Jake tilted his head. The boys looked at the Yerik as well and copied their father's head tilt. The Yerik was a bit…small. A full adult, but small. The children stared at Toruk Makto and giggled. Jake tossed his head back and sighed. He wondered when his beloved children grew to love teasing him.
"Mo'teya!" Kalo appeared as the girls began to pull their boys home. He smiled as Mo'teya turned and greeted him. 'Hello, Kalo, good friend of mine. How was your hunt?' Kalo puffed up his chest. "I was very blessed today. I was wondering if you-" Kalo cut himself off, looking up at the Sully family. They all watched with different expressions on their faces. Kiri was very pleased, a bright smile on her face. Jake and Lo'ak seemed confused as to why he stopped talking. But Neteyam looked into Kalo's soul. He was not someone who was oblivious to the looks the two had been exchanging over time. Neteyam often caught Kalo being distracted by his sister. He had at first thought Kalo was shy around girls, but it was only his sister. Only his second sister. Who was often distracted by Kalo. Who always showed up to watch him and Lo'ak train and practice. When Kalo was also there. "Oh, hell no," Neteyam muttered. Lo'ak frowned at his brother.
"Ah, please see me after tonight's meal?" Kalo looked back down at Mo'teya, who nodded. They waved goodbye and parted. Mo'teya took her father's hand and walked behind her sister. The two brothers followed. "Mo, what did Kalo ask you?" Neteyam's hands clenched and he looked behind him. Mo frowned and signed, 'He asked me to speak with him, why?' Lo'ak continued to scratch his head, wondering what his brother was getting at. "No reason," Neteyam dismissed. Kiri giggled and shot Neteyam a grin. She knew of Mo’teya’s crush on Kalo and has been waiting for her brothers to catch on. She couldn’t wait for the drama. “What are you all laughing at?” Lo’ak asked.
Mo’teya stood with Kalo, signing rapidly. The two had been chatting since eclipse, and now stood near Kalo’s family’s hut. Bright grins stretched across their faces and tails swished happily. Kalo's hand rested on Mo'teya's shoulder, his thumb rubbing the skin. It made Mo'teya glow brightly, her eyes flickering around his face. From the bushes, two brothers watched.
'Bro, he's touching her!' Lo'ak almost growled as he signed. His hands moved rapidly and sloppily. Neteyam almost didn't understand. 'This can not be happening!' Lo'ak wanted to bum rush Kalo and beat him for touching his sister. He didn't understand this morning, why Neteyam was so pissed off seeing Kalo and Mo. He didn't see the looks. But he sure as hell does now. 'We have to put a stop to this,' Neteyam signed back. The two nodded and crept back into the woods.
"Mo'teya, I have to let you know," Kalo whispered to the girl. His hands gripped her shoulders softly. His face was so close, Mo'teya could count the lashes in his eyes. "I have stones in my stomach that clash every time you look at me. My hands shake and my face hurts because I smile so much." Mo'teya held her breath, nervous and excited at the same time. This was it, he was going to make the first move! Her heart raced and her bottom lip trembled.
Nothing could ruin this for her. “Please tell me you feel the same?” Kalo gulped. His heart was racing so fast he might pass out. His knees felt like water as Mo’teya nodded, small tears in her eyes. Then his chest felt light. It soared like his Ikran, strong and full of happiness. With Mo’teya here, at this moment, nothing could ruin this. “Then, when I completely finish my Iknimaya, will you allow me to-” A strange scream deep within the forest around Kalo’s home cut him off. He clutched Mo’teya to his chest and swiveled his ears, trying to hear better. Mo’teya had flinched hard and turned in Kalo’s grip towards the sound. The scream had sounded slightly like-. No, it couldn’t be. Could it?
Something crashed in the woods, scarring the two more and more. Kalo pulled his blade out as Mo’teya did the same. They braced for anything, anything but what they actually saw.
Lo’ak screamed one more time before dashing out of the woods, arms flailing. His chest heaved and shuddered as he made a wild dash for his sister. Mo’teya shrieked as Lo’ak lifted her off her feet, tossed her over his shoulder like a bag, and took off. “Run, Kalo!” Lo’ak called back as he sprinted away. “What the actual fuck?” Kalo spat, face in a mixture of rage and utter confusion. He went running after the two, when a loud roar, a palulukan if Kalo guessed right, made him run towards his home in the trees.
‘What in the actual fuck, Lo’ak? Are you out of your damn mind?!’ Mo’teya signed as she balled up her fist and struck her brother. He hissed after every hit, flinching and pushing her away. “It was just a joke!” Lo’ak cried. He knew didn’t think Kalo would follow him, but he was kinda surprised he didn’t either. He and Neteyam knew Kalo was brave, but maybe the “palulukan” really did scare him. Just as Lo’ak was about to defend himself again, Neteyam flew in on his Ikran. In Neteyam’s arms, a human device, a speaker, was attached to a recorder. Mo’teya was about to scold and hit her other brother as well when she saw it. A look of horror crossed her face. She couldn’t believe this! The small-minded fools! She didn’t scream, though. She didn’t sign anything other than, ‘I’m telling Mom.’

The Way of Love
Chapter 3 : Let the Past stay in the Past
Years had passed since Sylwanin's death, but the hole she had left in the Tskaha family would never be filled again.
Now, Mo'at watched as Eytukan entered their home, seemingly looking for something, or someone.
- Where is Aerin? - He asked
Mo'at silently thought of how Aerin and her father's relationship had changed since Sylwanin's death.
She was no longer Aelin, his sweet child, with a curious mind and a kind heart, no, now she was Aerin, the next Tsahík, the Tsakarem, the daughter of the Olo'eyktan, a warrior built for storm and thunder.
But, a mother knows better.
It never escaped to Mo'at's eyes how since that day, Aerin would always stay up all night looking at Naranawm, asking for forgiveness and begging Eywa to take her instead. It pained her to see her daughter in such a state. Rare were the occasions when she would see her daughter smile again. Only when she was with her ikran, Ry'bas, or with Neytiri.
- You know ma ite, she has her mother's spirit - Mo'at said - She goes wherever the wind takes her and Neytiri is never far behind.
-
I felt Ry'bas roar and move beneath me as I watched Neytiri glide with Seze closer to me.
- Ma tsmuke. What is wrong? Are you afraid I will hunt faster than you? - Neytiri mocked me, with her thick accent, even though she knew I had far more experience than her.
- No. - She raised her eyebrow. - I was just thinking.
- Of what?
- I do not know. - she looked at me as if I was mocking her - It is just, I have a strange feeling in my chest. - she tried to speak but I cut her off - Must be the adrenaline of knowing I will catch better meat than you.
Ry'bas, reading my thoughts, quickly sped up and dived through the thick foliage of our beloved forest, leaving Neytiri behind.
I quickly heard her gasp and heard Seze's accelarating movements.
We landed in a clearing, near our favorite river. I jumped off Ry'bas and unmade tsaheylu as I petted her.
- Tam, tam Ry'bas.
I took my bow off Ry'bas as Neytiri landed next to me.
- Come, ma tsmuke. It is now that we catch better meat. - I told Neytiri.
She quickly took her bow and followed me, climbing on the trees, leaving Ry'bas and Seze to fly back.
-
In some minutes, we had found our prey.
And I had to admit, my sister was becoming a quite good hunter. I silently drew my bow and pulled the string, never taking my eyes away of the yerik in front of me. I was just going to let it fly, already imagining the sounds it would make, the agony I would feel, when suddenly a deafening sound startled both me and the hexapede, making it run and making me let the arrow fly too early, it then jabbing itself in the bark of a nearby tree.
I quickly looked up to see what had made the terrifying sound. And there it was. A demon flying machine.
The Sky People were wandering ever closer to our village and that was starting to get on my nerves.
I looked at Neytiri and saw that she was already looking at me. We were silently agreeing. We had to hide.
And so, we did. We climbed the trees as high as we could and followed the sound of the demon machine, jumping from tree to tree. I stood on one tree and Neytiri stood in another, across from me, as we watched the Sky People land.
As they got out of the ship, I instantly recognized Grace, not just by her face but also by her voice. I had missed her dearly since the moment the school was closed. She was good. She had a good heart. But she was still one of them, so my father kept our people at bay.
- Stay with the ship. One idiot with a gun is enough. - she said. A "gun". I wondered what that was.
Just by her side, was a male avatar. He looked like he was lost, by the way he looked around at the forest.
Then, when I looked to the other side, I saw another male avatar, pointing his...something up and down. I had not seen this one in my 20 years of age. When I looked at him, I instantly felt a connection to him. Like a pull. A sign from Eywa. He looked up and I saw his golden irises as if he was looking right at me. Something made me want to fall right into his arms, to let my guard down...
My sister must have noticed my mental absence as she shot an arrow right in front of my eyes, effectively startling me. But I paid her no mind. Something was pulling me to this man and I was willing to find out what that was.
I noticed that this man had to be new around here, as he was staring at everything as if he hadn't seen any of that before. I watched as he pointed his 'thing' at a syaksyuk.
- Prolemuris. They're not aggressive. - There was Grace again. I loved how she knew every species of Pandora, without even living in the village. Sometimes I caught myself wandering how would it be if Grace was one of us, truly one of us, she would be so talented. - Relax, Marine. You're making me nervous.
- So, how will they know we're here? - the other avatar asked.
- I'm sure they're watching us right now. - Right you are, Grace. As per usual.
I followed them from above the trees and watched as they were getting closer and closer to the old school. This place gave me awful memories, so I decided to stay back a little and wait for them to get out. I was sure Neytiri agreed with me.
_
- This was our school. - Grace said as she kicked some leaves away from the books on the ground. - Now, it's just...storage. The kids were so bright. - Grace remembered instantly of Aerin, Sylwanin and Neytiri, her, once, students. - Eager to learn. They picked up English faster than I could teach it. So, we'll take a couple of these Ph monitors...
Jake wandered around as Grace spoke to Norm, observing the place. While that, he always kept his gun close to him. You never know, I guess. Jake looked around as he saw a model of a system, like the Solar System, but this was about Pandora and the planet it orbitated, Naranawm, as the Na'vi called it. Suddenly, a riti opened it's wings like a bat, scaring Jake. He distanced himself from the creature as he heard Grace continue her monologue about how the Na'vi were ever so brilliant. But then, Jake noticed the most odd thing yet. There were holes in a board, bullet holes. As if that wasn't enough, just at it's side, shards of ice stood there, jabbed in the board, even though the room temperature was enough to get a human sweating.
- What happened here? - he asked, curious.
As he innocently made that question, tons of memories flooded into Grace's mind abruptly. Memories she wished would have stayed in the past, where they belonged. - Are you going to help us with the gear? We've got a lot to do.
Jake, quickly picking up that this was a sensitive topic, just dropped it, finnaly being useful and helping around.

When The Time Comes ( II. )

Sully family x Sully!reader, oc x Sully!reader
IN WHICH the humans come for your father’s neck again, as you and your family fight alongside him. When the sky people come back to destroy Pandora again, will you be able to save your family and potential lover?
Warnings: Angst, desc of war, fighting & blood, CRINGE
WC: 7.5k
A/N : I forgot that they lived in the high camp…. so the start makes no sense but do we really care.
Tumblr media
Upon entering the village, you were met with the sight of your anxiously pacing father. Your fingers were still intertwined with Mo’rata’s as the both of you came to a halt. Your mother’s piercing eyes glared at your hands, nodding her head at the man in a subtle threat.
Normally you would’ve been laughing either at her behaviour or at the boy for being a victim of her menace. Though you were mature enough to realise that now was not the time. You wouldn’t admit it to no one, but you were almost just as scared as concerned. The lights that you had spotted soaring through the sky earlier most definitely did not belong here.
Mo’rata began walking forward, dragging you alongside him as he approached your father. At the sight of your unmoving form, he knew that he had to do the first move.
You had seen something down there in the forest, something that he had not seen himself and you had to inform your father before it became a potential bigger threat. Jake approached you alongside Neytiri, his eyebrows furrowed as he looked like he was going to scold you for leaving the village without his permission once more.
“Sir, we have been warned in the forest that bad things are coming for us,” you informed your father, a similar look on your face as you spoke to him. Jake paused before you as he thought back at what Mo’at had told him a few moments prior. The Tsahik herself had told Jake that she had been receiving visions, warnings by Eywa herself. Now having you warn him too was like a green light to inaugurating a war.
Attacks from the sky people were not rare. In fact, they were so frequent and effortless to terminate that they did not even require that big of a warriors group. This time, there were way too many warnings to ignore. The clan always lived in an unspoken fear that another war like the first one would resurface. Destroying their new homes and families.
“Fine,” Jake said with closed eyes, rubbing his temples with his thumb and index finger to soothe his aching head. Neteyam and Lo’ak stood behind their father as they awaited his orders. It was no surprise to you when you looked up to see Lo’ak with an excited look on his face at the thought of finally fighting in the front lines. You rolled your eyes at your younger brother.
When Jake opened his eyes again, he was not only met with the sight of his two sons, but the whole clan awaiting their Olo’eyktan’s signal. He sighed as he knew that the first war was still a healing wound for many of the people. As a leader, he was forced to accept the damage and move on, think of a future for his clan and forget its past. Accepting was a part of moving on, denying was a step back.
“Ready yourself for battle! We all approach through our Ikrans tonight, go get ready, we depart in 20 minutes.” he yelled at the large body of na’vis. With a grin on your face, you watched as the people moved swiftly to ready themselves, exhibiting their loyalty to the clan. You pushed your way through the crowd as Mo’rata’s hand left yours, though this was too important for you to care at the moment.
Neytiri’s eyes met yours, and for a second she wanted to stop her children from joining in. Only now, she knew that she could not stop you guys. You had matured and grown from the cowardly little children that you once were and now it was time for you to step foot into the real world.
You moved towards your sisters, kneeling down before Tuk as you gave her a sloppy kiss on her cheek. She giggled wildly before ‘Ew-ing’ at your slobbery kiss. Her laughter was short-lived as her face dropped, she knew that there was a chance that her family may never return. She had seen it with her own eyes when one of her friends, Vutey, had lost his father. He was a hunter and Eywa had concluded his fate during his latest hunt.
She remembers watching Vutey crying in the comfort of his mothers arms, who she was sobbing alongside her only child.
Nevertheless, she gave you one last tight hug before you moved to your other sister. Kiri smiled at you before dipping two of her fingers in the coconut bowl that she held in her left hand. Out came a colourful paste that would later adorn your face. You closed your eyes as Kiri began tracing patterns on your skin with the paste, which made you shudder at the weirdly cold feeling.
Soon enough, she had finished half of your face. She dipped her fingers back in the half empty bowl, bringing it back to your face to finish your warrior’s face paint. Though it was short-lived before a third party had ripped you away from your sister, urging you by the arm. Kiri couldn’t be less unbothered, rolling her eyes and moving on to the next person.
You however, were ready to glare daggers at whoever had come to disrupt you in your little moment. You were not ready for that person being Mo’rata however..
“What do you think you’re doing?” he asked you, his nonexistent eyebrows creasing as he spoke. You raised yours at his odd question, feeling the tension grow because of his little attitude problem.
“Uhh I was getting ready? What are you doing, messing up my face paint and all…” you scoffed, murmuring-loudly the last part as a petty attempt for him to hear it. You tried to walk away from Mo’rata and whatever childish tantrum he was throwing right now, rubbing the messed up part of the paste on your face with your fingers. The tight grip that Mo’rata had on your arm however would not allow you to move any further.
“No way in hell are you going to fight, not like that..”
“Not like how? You’re not my fucking father Mo’rata. Get off my back.” You hissed at him, and perhaps - just perhaps, you shouldn’t have been so hostile. You didn’t blame yourself though because who the hell was he to tell you what to do and what not? His behaviour did its best to displease you and his grip refused to falter.
“You cannot even hold your bow properly!” He hissed back, gritting his teeth as you were really starting to infuriate him. He was just worried, he was deathly worried for you. Though he was way too much of a stoic man with a great pride to admit that to you. To admit that he cared about you, he cared more than he thought he could.
He didn’t want you to partake in this battle because he feared the thought of losing you. The past few months that you guys have hung out together has been the only time he’s ever been as happy as this, even though his face didn’t really show it.
“You’ll be useless on the battlefield! You dare to even call yourself a warrior but you cannot do a thing as simple as wield your weapon correctly,” he paused, looking at you through half-lidded eyes. He hates the way that fierce look on your face falls, and he hates that he’s the reason for it.
“An excuse of a Sully that you call yourself, maybe you should sit back here and wonder why your father favours your ‘golden’ brother. Ever wonder why you don’t know how to aim, maybe you should ask you precious little dad, i’m sure he was having a blast teaching his favourite so-“ Mo’rata was cut off by an unforeseen shove from you. His spiteful words were hurting every inch deep of your body and you tried to conceal it by showing your anger towards him instead.
In the spite of that, he noticed the hurt that showed on your face before you reverted to a hostile expression. He could still see it on your face as you held him tightly by the base of his necklace, the same one you had crafted for him. He hated how the damage of his words was still so evident, practically radiating off of you. But that’s what he wanted after all right? to hurt you. To rupture through that pride of yours to get you to stay here, safe and sound.
Although he wished for it to push you away from the war, it only seemed to push you further away from him.
You glared at him for a second before shaking your head with a scoff, backing away a few steps before looking back at him. You knew how he viewed Neteyam, you knew how everyone viewed your brother. Neteyam was everything that you were not, responsible and obedient. Though you didn’t want to be like Neteyam, you never wanted to abide by the rules or whatnot.
When you had met Mo’rata, he was the only person that did not constantly remind you of how you were expected to be the golden child. How your name brought shame upon your family because of your misconduct. Though he would always tease you, it was nothing ever real until now.
“Well you know what, fuck you and what you think of me. I’ll show you that I'm a real warrior!” you flashed him the two of your middle fingers, and he huffed at you. He did not know of the real meaning behind these signs, but you had shown it to him before during a few of your banters. So he knew that they were somewhat scornful.
He quickly realises what you have said, his brain was in a buzz from everything that’s been happening recently. He attempts to reach for you as you leave, but he could only watch as you slipped away from his fingers and back into the chaotic crowd. His fiery expression sunk for a second as he was left with the crumbs of your last argument.
-
Once your ikran had left the ground, you had tried your best to rid your mind of any thoughts about Mo’rata. Being lost in your emotions right now would only distract you from your mission, and a lack of concentration on the battlefield was oftentimes lethal.
Your Ikran followed closely behind Neteyam’s and Lo’ak’s, who were busy arguing about something you couldn’t care less about. As their older sister, you’ve always had the urge to protect them. You had a strong feeling like today was the day that you’d finally prove yourself worthy of being their older sibling.
Not that they didn’t believe you weren’t, it was quite the opposite.
It didn’t take much more than 5 minutes of flying for you guys to find the group of humans that were posing a threat to your clan. They were so close to the village, so close to the Hallelujah mountains. Your eyes widened at the sight of their technology. Huge killer machines that both resided on the ground and in the sky.
Huge metal junks that were brought here in the sole purpose of destroying and polluting your wonderland. The sound of a war cry had broken you off of your train of thoughts and all of the elders dived down to take action. You told your ikran to speed up as you overtook your brothers that were still arguing. They turned their head at the sound of a third pair of wings flapping beside them, but then shuddered at the ‘if you mess this up, i’ll kill the both of you’ kind of look that you gave them before diving down yourself.
Lo’ak broke into a cold sweat as he thought of the last time you had given him a good sibling’s beating for nearly harming Tuk as he took her out of the camp and out into the deep forest. You knew that your idiot brother was just like you, carefree, young and dumb at times. Though there were times where Lo’ak couldn’t tell the difference between a good time and an actual danger warning, so you and your father were here to remind him.
You wasted no time dismounting your ikran as its firm legs grazed the floor. You grabbed the spear that was attached to the ikran’s leather harness, throwing it through the back of a confused human’s skull with no hesitation. The communication collar that connected your father and brother to you buzzed before you heard the deep voice of your father. He informed the both of you that this was no fight against Quaritch, thankfully. You had heard too many stories about this menace of a man, stories from your great warriors of parents. Nevertheless, he broke the bad news to you, telling you that you were indeed fighting against one of Miles’ acquaintance’s team.
You allowed yourself to be distracted for a moment by the voice of your father, almost costing you your life as a sky demon aimed his weapon at you. A thanator abruptly came out from the bushes behind the man, catching the both of you off guard as it slammed its heavy body into the human and its considerable machine. You took this as an opportunity to run, grabbing the bow and arrows of a fallen soldier - just in case you would need it along the way.
As much as you tried to forget what Mo’rata had told you, his words could only echo in the back of your head. So you’d rather be safe than sorry, even if you weren’t the best at archery. You’d make sure to honour the valiant fallen soldier later on, silently thanking him for his devotion.
You looked around you and couldn’t spot any familiar faces, your mother and father must’ve been on different sides than you and your brothers. Your brothers, you suddenly remembered. Where the hell were they? had something happened to the both of them?
Endless questions ran through your head as you had been body slammed by one of the men, courtesy of your distracted mind once more. His hands pushed your head back harshly as you both fell to the ground, slamming your head severely on the dirty ground. You gasped for air as your back hit the ground, using your long legs to push off the man that had fallen above you. His much smaller body flew a few feet away before hitting the ground once again. He coughed and spat blood as he felt his body burning from the impact.
When you had approached him, the sun had darkened your figure upon his vision. In his hazy state, he could’ve thought that you were an angel coming at his rescue. You glowed and shaded him temporarily from the war. However, the spear that had impaled his torso shortly after had proved him wrong, executing him immediately.
The fall had caused you to injure the back of your head, the small wound that was open as the back of your head leaked with blood, matching the dead man before you.
You lifted your spear up as the man’s body accompanied it. Your indifferent yellow eyes watched as his blood dripped down the handle of your spear, smearing the crimson liquid all over your fingers. They had no sense of empathy towards your people, so why should you?
Your brothers, you had remembered, flinging the useless man’s body to the side as you picked up the pace.
You heard the buzzing again, this time you did not pause when your fathers voice erupted from the device. The last time you did, it had almost cost you your life.
“Y/N, Neteyam. I need both of you to tell everyone else to evacuate right now!” he ordered the both of you, and at first when you had not heard your brother’s voice responding, your heartbeat had picked up its pace. You flinched as the body of a human soldier came flying towards you, dodging it just in time. You looked incredulously at the na’vi that had flung it, murmuring a quick apology under his breath before returning to battle.
“Why's that, sir?” Neteyam defied his father, well not really. He was just curious. You felt your heart physically relax at the voice of your baby brother. You could tell that Lo’ak was safe too, because neteyam had not said anything yet.
“The man we’re fighting is an ex-marine. Alban is his name and I….I know him, he’s no easy target. The na’vi will only get themselves killed so I need the both of you to please warn them. Tell them to find refuge at the Tree of souls.” you frowned as you heard the despair in your father’s voice, you couldn’t imagine how stressed he felt right now.
“We’re coming to fight with you,” the voice of your youngest brother broke the loud-silence. He was talking through Neteyam’s device, and by the lack of response that you both received from him - you could tell that he agreed with his younger brother.
Your ears picked up on the subtle sound of denial that Jake had let out. “You are not, do you understand this son? It is far too dangero-“
“You’ve always told us that Sully’s stick together, so why contradict yourself now? Pull yourself together, we’re coming soon.” You said and Jake could only sigh at his oldest children. You were hard headed and Neteyam was strong willed. Fighting with the both of you through the tiny device that laid across his throat was like talking to brick wall
“Fine,” he groaned “but make sure to warn everyone before, or i’ll make it my personal mission to skin the both of you alive when we get back home.”
-
You had found yourself lost among the chaos, people were running all over the place. Either carrying other na’vis or running back to their ikrans. Your siblings and you were ordering everyone that had made it back alive to grab unto their injured comrades and flee to the spiritual tree.
This was your family’s battle to fight. Your father had always felt responsible for the events of the Home Tree, because he had been part of the destructive project before he had fallen in love with your mother. Although he was still trying to repent to this day, you guys were a family and as your father always says ; ‘Sully's stick together’. If he was fighting this battle, then so were you, your brothers and your mother. Your sisters were helping too, just not on the battlefield.
“Go, go back to the Tree of souls. The healers await you there.” You told the passing na’vis. Your Ikran was somewhere behind you as it waited for you to join it again. There was a slight dust storm going on around you from all of the Ikrans suddenly departing, and soon the dust had settled down again.
There was a singular figure left and even from afar, you could recognize the na’vi from thousands. His scars and uneven hair gave him away. He had seemed to have noticed you too, because he was clearly staring straight at you. Then, your eyes casted downwards towards the new litter of fresh wounds that covered his torso. They were nothing to worry about, probably would just leave faint scars with a residue of dried up scabs to pick at.
Despite the argument that you had earlier and all of the things that he had said to you, you had never been happier to see him. Happiness was surely a feeling that you felt when you were anywhere near him. He was alive and well, standing right before you. The look in his eyes said so much more than he could even verbalise. They spoke to you from afar, telling you how sorry he was, they told you how much he cared about you.
With no hesitation, you ran forward towards him. You used his shoulders as supports to stabilise yourself as you raised to your tip-toes, thrashing your cheek against his in a loving caress. He allowed himself to melt in your touch, rubbing the side of his face with yours too like two cats in love. His hands found a home at the curve of your waist, just like his heart had found a home within you.
You moved your head to look him in the eyes, and he softened at the memory of what he had said earlier.
“I’m sorry for wha-“
“I’ve already forgiven you, long ago,” you cut him off, making that cheshire grin reappear on his face. Although it quickly left as your face fell suddenly. You truly wanted to stay mad at him for longer, maybe even for as long as he walked on this land. Though you did know what was to ensue from this battle, so you wished that your last moments with him would be spent through forgiveness and adoration.
“You must return to the sacred tree, the healers are waiting for your return.” You tell him as you look towards anywhere but him. He notices your distraught look and raises a hand to cup the side of your jaw, turning your head gently to look at him.
You felt your heart halt at the look that he was giving you, your lungs felt like they were failing you. His eyes stirred between your lips and the rest of your features. Shifting from the way your ears flickered at his sudden attention, to the way your nose twitched slightly from all of the stray dust that flew around the both of you.
He leaned in, and his intentions were not really clear to you. You had an idea of what he desired, and such thought made you giddy with delight. You both allowed yourselves to pretend like nothing bad was happening to your homeland at the moment. You allowed yourself to feel safe within his presence, and so did he.
He tilted his head to the side as his eyes met yours again. The smile that formed from the little giggle that you let out fed his heart with so much bliss. Like a child being allowed to go down to the rivers for the first time.
He leaned down more and stopped before you, wondering if maybe it was inappropriate to do this at such a time. It was, truly, but when had you ever cared about such a minor dilemma. You leaned into him, finishing what he had started as your lips moulded into his.
Mo’rata’s ears raised as you kissed him. Though his eagerness was short lived as you pulled away, hiding behind your hand as you laughed away shyly. He relished in the few seconds that he got of his lips on yours, the need to jump around like a little girl was very much present in his bones and it made him want to grind up his own skeleton structure up at the thought.
He had never kissed anyone before, but he was elated that you were his first. In his heart, you'd always be the only one. If anything were to happen to you, he promised himself that he would rather rip his own heart out than love another.
The hand that was still present on your jaw rubbed loving circles into your cheeks, reminding you of your mother’s touch. You leaned into his palm, looking up at him with loving eyes. You had learned to find a second home within Mo’rata. He was your escape, the pillar that you leaned on when you desperately needed support.
“You make me feel weird things.” Mo’rata grumbled as you picked up on it. He was smiling, for the first time in his life (that you had seen) and your eyes widened, pupil’s expanding as you stared at the rare sight across of you.
“You’re smiling! You’re smiling because of me?!” you beamed, laughing violently as you two forgot about the war currently going on from behind the two of you. Mo’rata’s smile suddenly fell as he scowled, removing his hands from your waist and jaw to cross them grumpily across his chest.
The gesture only made you laugh harder, tears trickling in your eyes as you wiped them away with the back of your hands. He smiled again at your carefreeness, this time much more teasingly.
“You must return to me whole, or else I'll personally bring you back just to kill you again.” he threatened and for a moment there, it sounded almost too real. The fact that he was smiling cockily at you while threatening you truly made this scene unforgettable. You chuckled at him, before backing away from the intimidating looking man . You felt empty without his presence near you, but you had much more important things to worry about right now.
The sound of Lo’ak calling your name cut you out of your trance, but before you left, you called out for Mo’rata once more. He was busy climbing his Ikran when he heard your call, instinctively turning back to your voice. You had one of those goofy grins plastered on your face, one that told him not to worry about you too much.
“I’ll make sure to kick those demon’s asses!” you shouted and he rolled his eyes, the slight smile on his face told you that it was inoffensive. If you had had this conversation a few months prior, he would’ve probably called you names and deeming you the demon amongst many other things. Now, however, he saw you as an equal. No matter if you had 5 fingers or eyebrows, he found your special features endearing.
He laughed to himself once more, before flying off on his Ikran. Now, he could only pray to Eywa to keep you safe in her hands.
-
Blood was pouring out of your wound unceasingly, but the aching pain that you felt right now was the least of your concerns. You had not even turned away for two minutes, tending to Mo’rata’s soaring heart, and your brothers were nowhere in sight. Perhaps you had been too blinded by love to realise the calls of your father through the tiny microphone. Neither your father or brother were responding to your desperate calls and you had no idea why.
You felt as thought you had already scouted the whole of the Pandora forest thrice. You were lost amongst the forest, and you wanted nothing more than to escape the place you called a home. The bioluminescent beauty that oftentimes calmed you could only infuriate you now. You were making no progress whatsoever and you felt a tinge of guilt at the thought of harming the All-Mother’s creation to find your family.
Your hand reached up to the communication device once more, the other hand holding you up on your ikran. You could feel that she was just as exhausted as you were, as well as her shuddering breaths. You pressed on the buttons of the human-device before calling out to your father, again and again and again. You called out for your brother, your mother, to no avail. There was no one to respond to your calls, and you had never felt more defeated in your entire life.
The wound that was still very much open on the back of your head was beginning to tire you out, and your legs were starting to ache from the amount of time that you were spending on your ikran. You pressed on the buttons again, in an attempt to be useful. You wanted to give yourself some kind of hope that your family was still there and alive, but it was hard to believe as more time passed.
The open gash at the back of your head was begging to tire you out. Your legs were aching from the amount of time that you had spent riding your ikran. You knew that you could not give up now, because how could you go back home to your family after this? You had never been a cowardly child, always filled with the adventurous need to explore. Though as you stood exhausted on the flying animal, you had never been more terrified.
How could you go back to your grandmother, all wound up and alone afterwards. How could you announce to her that her only remaining daughter was now dancing in Nirvana alongside her sister. How could you rip the young Tuk’s heart apart and steal yet another family from Kiri? You were not sure that you were capable of doing it now, or any other time.
After too many failed attempts at reaching for your father, you had stopped addressing him like you normally did. The military honorifics felt bitter on your tongue and you urged yourself to swallow the rising bile. You had called him by his parental name, because at the moment, you weren’t searching for Jake Sully nor Toruk Makto. You were calling out for your father, the same father that had watched you grow for the past 18 years. The same father that had grown emotionally distant as you grew up, and the same father that you would continue to love nevertheless.
He too, from afar could only wish for the same. He could only wish to hold his daughter one more time in his arms as he told her that everything was ok. Because it wasn’t. Alban currently had one of his muscular arms wrapped around the middle of your father’s neck, pressing harshly against his adam’s apple. His failed attempts at escaping the demon’s hold was to be deemed pathetic. He, the Olo’eyktan and leader of the Omatikaya, couldn’t even outfight a simple man. .
Neytiri bared her canines at the pale man, a venomous hiss escaping her throat. She didn’t cower or submit the man’s threats, standing her ground as she hovered a hand over her son’s protectively. Alban pointed his weapon towards your mother and siblings, finger resting on the trigger. He shot a bullet in between Neteyam and Neytiri, barely missing your brother’s arm. Neytiri’s ears flattened and for a moment, her posture faltered. How could you put a mother in this position? Making her choose between her mate or her children. It was obvious as to whom she would choose in the end, as a mother, her duty was to protect her children.
She couldn’t help the surge of guilt that had creeped its way into her heart as she watched her husband struggle. She felt frustrated tears trickle in her round eyes as she pushed her body closer to sons, protecting them from the gun’s nose.
You were still missing and your father was literally getting asphyxiated, give the woman a poor rest. She had already lost so many things prior. Her sister, her father and her past home, watching Jake's poor attempt at fighting back had rendered her heartbroken. He was lacking air as his own sons watched their father slowly dissipating in front of them.
She could hear you through your father’s collar, asking where they were. Dramatically asking every second for their whereabouts and if they were still there. Neytiri’s heart twisted at her distressed daughter. She felt as though you were mutilating her own heart as she heard the wavering of your voice, the fragileness in your tone. She could only imagine the thoughts that were passing through your head at the moment.
Jake was not ready to go, not yet. He had yet to do so many things that he should’ve done years ago. He had yet to tell his youngest son that he was proud of him too, he had yet to tell you that he saw you too and not just Neteyam. He thought about how much admiration his eldest son held towards him, then about his two daughters that were awaiting his return back at the camp.
Seconds felt like hours and Jake was slowly turning more and more purple as the time passed. Your mother and brothers felt like their worlds were being ripped away from them as they stood defenceless.
Jake's eyes began to falter and the shaky arm that held the weapon would not falter under exhaustion. Neytiri’s cries could be heard across the entire forest at this point and Lo’ak sobbed harder at the sight of his family breaking in the midst of war. He was one of the few people who did not hate sky people in his family, but in the moment he had wanted nothing but for them all to be gone.
Neytiri’s dampened eyes shifted back towards the sky demon’s face before her own contorted to one of stupor. Blood dribbled from his slightly open mouth, crimson liquid dripping down onto her unconscious husband’s head. His eyes were voiced of any life, in contrast to the deathly soldier that she had encountered earlier. Suddenly, he fell to his side as he brought Jake along with him, lifting a cloud of dust around the both of them.
Neteyam wasted no time sprinting towards his father, as his mother and brother were too caught up in puzzlement. One second ago he had been fighting fiercely against the Olo’eyktan and the next, he was lying coldly against the forest floor. Neteyam shoved the human’s hand away from his father’s neck, checking for a pulse as he laid his fingers against his neck.
Neytiri followed closely behind her son, thrashing her cheek out upon his chest - checking for a sign of life.
She cried once more, though this time the tears that covered her cheeks had not been in anguish. She bawled, crying out her gratitude towards the Great Mother for having given her mate another day to live. He would not die tonight, not when he was in the hands of the All-Mother. His heart was still beating, slowly but mighty pulses.
She checked his body for any major wounds, though her heart skipped a beat at the puddle of blood that surrounded her husband. She lifted him instantly, her eyes widening at the shallow arrow wound that ran along his back - where he had been held against the human. The blood did not belong to Jake, she could smell the difference and her nose scrunched up in disgust.
She carefully moved her husband’s head unto her oldest son’s lap before moving before the human. She looked back at Alban’s chest, and there it laid. The sharp arrow that had struck right through his back. It had sliced its way right through the left side of his upper chest, impaling his heart as it stuck halfway out of his frontal. He drowned in his own repulsive blood, bathing Jake in it as well.
She was confused at first, but the sound of some quiet sobs had told her everything that she needed to know. She looked back and past where Alban previously sat kneeled, seeing as her youngest son was no longer behind her, but hugging your sobbing frame. You held your brother tighter than you had ever held him. Her eyes dragged down to the unfamiliar bow that laid besides your feet, long forgotten as you found yourself lost in the comfort of your brother’s embrace.
Her heart soared at the memory of you painful pleading cries when Jake was locked in a chokehold, without your knowledge. They were unable to respond to you at the moment, because of the gun that had been aimed at them. Neytiri stood up, now knowing that her husband was still alive and breathing.
She engulfed you in a much needed hug upon arrival, tightening her home around you as you
sobbed harder. Your tears ran down your face, soaking your mother’s weaved top. The last time you had cried to her like this, you had been around Tuk’s age. Upset because a boy had been bothering you during an excursion, frustrating tears ran down your cheeks right as you had breached your tent’s doors. You had found comfort in your mother’s embrace that night, just as you had just done. Because nothing in this world could replace a mothers comfort.
In the corner of your eyes, you had noticed your father that laid upon Neteyam’s lap. He looked relieved, warm and content as his gaze fell upon you. You allowed yourself to relax into your mother’s shoulder as you knew that your family was still alive and complete. Neytiri felt you relaxing in her arms as she used a hand to wipe the stray tears that stuck to your skin.
“That’s all thanks to you, my daughter.” Neytiri said to you, eyes full of love and adoration for her daughter. You had ran away so many times before, and sometimes, you had wished of losing your way. Wishing that your path led you to a new beginning, a new home amongst the lands of Pandora. But before that, you had been an angsty teen that found a home in freedom.
Tonight, your sole wish was to go back home. In the comfort of your favourite people, safe and sound in the clan.
-
As you reached the Tree of Souls, you dismounted your ikran before it flew away to rest somewhere nearby. You were beyond exhausted and your legs were begging for a rest. The new collection of wounds that littered your skin would make a great scar story for your future offsprings.
You held onto the back of your head as a burning feeling had replaced the simple aching overtime. The vegetation around the tree gave a calming hue that you could handle for now, any brighter and you were sure to rip your eyeballs out with your own fingers.
The rest of the Omatikaya had gathered before you, everyone that had been ordered to seek refuge at the tree. They watched as you wobbled slightly on your painfully aching legs, one by one, they greeted you with the Oel ngati kameie (i see you) hand sign. You, their mighty saviour. You, Y/N Sully, the saviour of the Omatikaya clan.
The words spread at an inhumane pace amongst the clan because it had not even been 5 minutes that you had arrived, and they were already praising your exploits.
Your blazing yellow eyes shifted between the numerous Na’vi men and woman that stood in front of you. Without wasting more time, your legs moved on their own to bring you to wherever they could manage to bring you. The more you advanced through the crowd, the people were moving out of the way to create a path for you. Greeting you with the same welcoming symbol.
You didn’t necessarily appreciate the attention but you surely liked being appreciated for your bravery and success. This felt like a little much though.
Your long stride had come to a dead end as a single person had not dispersed amongst the crowd. The people watched him from the sidelines, insulting glares being sent towards his way from every side.
There he stood in front you, in all of his shinning glory. His sweaty skin glistened amongst the glowing flowers of the forest as his freckles joined in the mix. Your eyes softened at the mere sight of him.
“You saved my father’s life back there. If it wasn’t for you, I would've probably missed my shot.” you told him, thanking him before the clan and Eywa for his service.
Your family had arrived shortly behind you, watching your interaction with the Na’vi from behind you. They had also received the same treatment from the people. Your father was back, despite a little wobbly on his feet and slightly still dazed, he was here nevertheless. You had all awaited his awakening before leaving to seek the rest of the clan. He was confused when his whole family pounced on him at his rise, but he was happy nevertheless.
Your family had praised you, alongside your brothers for your undeniable bravery. You could’ve started sobbing again when your father had audibly voiced out his proudness towards you. He hugged you again, like the both of you had wished for during the times of chaos. Neytiri felt her heart momentarily ache at the sight of her all grown daughter. She could’ve sworn that just yesterday she was rocking you to sleep as a newborn.
“That was all you, You wielded the bow, and you released the arrow. Be proud of yourself, little warrior.” He teased you, even at a time like this. You smiled at him, happy that he was still himself after all of these events. He praised your accomplishments before the clan. Deeming you a worthy warrior, contrary to what he had told you before the fight.
Neytiri’s heartache was short lived as a feeling of pride swaddled her heart. You were an independent woman now and when she looked into your eyes, she could see herself years prior. She looked at Mo’rata before glancing back at her family, which were all looking at you with the biggest grins ever plasterer on their faces.
“You need to embarrass yourself purposely infront of Iri’me tomorrow if something happens between them here and there!” Spider attempted to whisper to Lo’ak but failed miserably as the said Iri’me turned to glare at them from the crowd.
Neteyam averted his gaze from the angry woman as he pretended to yawn. Open his arms widely behind him before slapping his ‘brother’ across the back of his head.
“Shut up skxawng! plus we aaaaaall know that something is gonna’ happen. Cmon look at him, he’s literally eye fu-“ Lo’ak started, before getting put back in his place by Kiri.
Kiri beamed as Mo’rata extended his arm towards you, fine muscles flexing at his every move. His hand opens as he held his open palm out for you to grab. You tilted your head to the side in cluelessness and jake held back the urge to facepalm at his daughter’s obliviousness. As much as your dad was sceptical of the Na’vi in front of you, he told himself that it was better to watch you accept Mo’rata’s potential courtship instead of another random na’vi.
He knew that you had fallen for the fierce warrior, and he knew that so did Mo’rata with you. He could recognize the looks in your eyes within thousands of others, because he had lived through with Neytiri.
Despite the bitter look on his face, Jake was just as proud of you. He knew how much the weight of your duties had affected you during all of your youth but you had matured now. You accepted your duties as a part of life and understood that there was no reason for you to feel overwhelmed,
because your family was always there for you, and they’ll always continue to be there.
A random woman from behind you had noticed your hesitation as she curtly pushed you forward, having you end up straight in the Na’vi’s arms. He couldn’t help but stare straight into your eyes, because despite the hundreds of similar ones that surrounded him at the moment, he’s never found ones that were just as mesmerising as yours.
You put your hands across his chest to stabilise yourself as you stared right back into his eyes, feeling so much fondness for the man you once considered an enemy.
Both your ears flickered at the sight of an Atokirina' floating down towards you two, before it settled for floating between the two of you. His gaze turned back to you as he watched you observe the Woodsprite. In a split second, an army of Woodsprites engulfed the two of you in their floating antics. Causing Mo’rata to slightly back away in surprise.
You knew what this meant, so did he and so did everyone around the both of you. Eywa had spoken and she had chosen to do it infront of the many people.
You nearly lost your footing at the loud cheering, you eyes circled the whole clan as you looked back at your future mate once more. Placing two finger near your forehead before lowering them towards the intimidating looking man.
“I see you..” you smiled before letting out a curt laugh at Mo’rata.
For the first time in Eywa knows how long, the clan watched as the Na’vi cracked a small smile towards his lover, reciprocating the hand gesture.
“I see you, ii’yu” (darling)
Your hand reached to his before slipping your fingers between his very own, raising them before the people. In the corner of your eyes had you spotted your lovely family. Your siblings all waved to you guys as little Tuk jumped up and down from sheer joy for you. Your parents simply smiled warmly at you, and you were quite surprised to see your father smiling despite Mo’rata’s presence.
After all, Eywa had spoken and when the time comes, you will rule the Omatikaya as their Tsahik, alongside Mo’rata as the Olo’eyktan.

Days had passed since your brother's funeral and the attack of the sky people on your clan, the Tawkami.
Lo’ak had refused to leave your side throughout the entirety of Kelu’s funeral, paying his respects to your brave little brother as he gently wiped away the tears running down your raw cheeks, trying his best to comfort you.
When your parents caught wind of your brother's unfortunate death, they had a much colder reaction than yours. Your Father, the Olo’eyktan, had buried himself in his duties and in aiding others in attempts to salvage the parts that were left of their beloved home. Your Mother, the Tsahìk, had busied herself with healing the wounded and tending to the elderly. So that left you with the funeral preparations for your deceased brother.
You had been distant and cold towards the others in your life, paying them no mind as you scrambled to make your little brother's funeral perfect. You had to give him a perfect sending off to the Great Mother. You’d accept nothing short of it.
Lo’ak had noticed your sunken eyes and paling cerulean skin whenever you appeared out from your family’s tent, which was rarely. He was worried. He felt extremely worried that you were driving yourself to the bone, giving yourself no time to eat or sleep. It was evident what you were doing to yourself and due to that, Lo’ak felt immense guilt. If only the Sully family has gone past the reefs and seeked uturu from the Metkayina clan instead of the Tawkami. Maybe then your precious brother would still be here, alive and breathing instead of six feet underneath the base of your Home Tree. Maybe then you wouldn’t be in the position you were in now, overworking yourself as your parents neglected you at every turn.
Lo’ak had whispered reassuring words to you as your Mother performed your clans funeral ritual, voice shaking as she did so. He wanted to make sure that you knew he was going to be there for you even if you hated him at the moment. That no matter what, he was going to be there to aid you in picking back up the pieces of your broken, grieving heart.
You pretended that Lo’ak didn’t exist. Ignoring him whenever he brought you a warm piece of yerik that he caught and cooked up for dinner, leaving it outside your tent. Switching the direction you were walking in when he just so happened to be walking towards you, smile on his face before you swerved out of his way. Avoiding eye contact during your clans weekly gathering, watching as the others freely danced in front of you in choice of not meeting Lo’ak’s persistent gaze on the side of your head.
All of your actions were purposeful. You truly didn’t want to see him. But not for the reason he thinks.
You felt awful for reacting the way you did when he tried to comfort you that fateful day, but you had lost the other half of your heart and needed something to blame. And Lo’ak was the one you lashed out at.
A part of you did mean your words, believing that Jake Sully should’ve fought back instead of run, unnecessarily dragging you and your clan into his war. He should’ve never asked uturu from the Tawkami and now all of you were paying the price for it. You resented Jake for causing all this pain and suffering to those who didn’t deserve it. Who offered up their home for him and his family. Who protected him and those he loved. And what did you get in return for your kindness? A dead brother and half a home.
Another part of you knew that your words were just that, words. No true meaning behind the insults you spat. Again, you needed someone to be mad at and Lo’ak was the first person you saw. This part was mad at you, at yourself. Mad that you took your eyes off of Kelu while trying to gather all the children you could to safety. Angry that you didn’t think to take him with you first. Angry that you didn’t find him faster. Angry that he was dead and you weren’t. You should be in his place. In the soil of your home as your clanspeople chanted your song chord and guided you into the hands of Eywa. Maybe then, if you had been the one to die instead of Kelu, your parents wouldn’t mind as much. Wouldn’t sulk as much or wouldn’t ignore your brother in hopes of burying away the pain.
You knew that some part of your parents had wished that it was you instead of Kelu. That you were six feet under instead of their only son. They had always preferred him over you, not that you minded much. You preferred Kelu over you too. But that didn’t mean that it didn’t hurt any less. That your suffering wasn’t as much as theirs. Kelu was of your blood. You both had the same metallic substance coursing through your veins. He was your brother first before he was theirs.
You had visited him many nights via the Tree of Souls of your clan. You never missed one, often skipping dinner to see him even if it was for a brief moment.
“(Y/N), look! I did it!” A familiar voice screeched out in excitement, jumping up and down from their feat.
Most of the memories you saw consisted of Kelu when he was younger, them often being of you teaching him something or him coming to you whenever he couldn’t sleep and begged you to sing him to his slumber. This night wasn’t an exception.
Kelu spent weeks trying to convince you to teach him how to use a bow way before both of your parents deemed him old enough to start training with you. Obviously, you couldn’t say no when he approached you one night crying about it, pleading for you to teach him. You gave in once he looked up into your eyes with his wide, amber puppy dog orbs. He was only nine then.
“Good job, tsmukan,” you exclaimed, ruffling his hair in a teasing manner.
He had hit some part of the makeshift target you made, his previous attempts unsuccessful and landing in various places amongst the grass and bushes. The arrow wasn’t embedded into the bright red dot in the middle of the circular target, lodged nearly into the edge. It was his first successful attempt at shooting the arrow at the target and making it. Albeit that fact, he was over the moon about what he did. Excitement shook through his body.
Kelu wrapped his arms around your waist, head barely coming to the middle of your ribcage, burying his face into the flat of your stomach with a wide grin on his face. “Thank you so much, tsmuke. You’re the best teacher ever!” He giddily yelled out, practically shaking with excitement.
Your heart dropped to your stomach, tears pricking at your waterline as you brought younger Kelu into your abdomen. You dearly missed your brother. The warmth of his hug from the memory felt so real. You often found yourself questioning what was real and what wasn’t during your visits with Kelu, struggling to decipher if it was reality.
“What’s wrong, oeyä tsmuke?” Kelu asked, now up to your clavicle, his nine-year-old form no longer as it was replaced with his most recent thirteen-year-old body.
He always rubbed it in your face that he was most likely going to be taller than you once he reached of age, proud that he at least surpassed you in something. Kelu thought the highest of you. Viewing you as the golden child of the family. You naturally excelled at everything you did, being the top warrior of your age group. He wanted to be just like you. Shine in the same light that your parents bestowed upon you from your birth. To be honest, he lacked a lot of skills that was expected of a Tawkami warrior, struggling to keep up with the other children his age. So to be so close to being better, or in this case, taller than you, he took pride in it as he flaunted it to you every chance he got. This was the only thing that he ‘beat’ you at.
“Nothing my dear tsmukan,” you whispered, putting your hand on Kelu’s cheek and softly stroked the patch of skin with the pad of your thumb, “There’s no need to worry.”.
You were almost certain that Kelu was ignorant to the fact that he was dead. You didn’t want to voice your thoughts and ruin the experience your brother was experiencing within Eywa. He deserved to continue on blissfully in his afterlife and not worry over how you coped after his death. He deserved peace.
He didn’t seem too convinced at your words, brow bones pulling together in a furrow. But he quickly let it go, burrowing himself back into your arms, face resting in the crook of your neck. You didn’t know if he did it to comfort you or just because he wanted to be in the warm embrace of your arms but you didn’t complain, wrapping your arms around his shoulders and pulled him further into your figure. You missed hugging Kelu. Missed his healing hugs and comforting words. You missed him with your whole being that every bone in your body longed to be within the consciousness of the Great Mother twenty-four-seven.
You pulled yourself out of the memory when you heard your name being distantly called, knowing who it was.
“Yes, Lo’ak?” You numbly asked, robotically pulling your queue away from the glowing tendril of your clans Tree of Souls. You really didn’t want to interact with the Omatikaya boy, but you knew you should. A part of you called out to be comforted by him. To be pulled into his arms and be gently reassured that everything was going to be okay and that he will never leave your side for as long as he breathed.
Lo’ak stopped in his tracks upon hearing your response to his calling, surprised that you knew it was him. But you’d always know. You practically memorized everything about the boy. You could tell how he felt by the twitch of his eyebrows to what he was thinking by the way he shifted from foot to foot as his tail softly twitched from side to side. The tone of his voice was something you dedicated to memory very early on in befriending him.
“Have you eaten yet, tiyawn?” He asked, kneeling by your side as he placed his five fingered hand onto the side of your head that was closest to him, gently scratching your braids and scalp.
He hadn’t seen you since this morning. You brushed past him without a second glance, making your way deep into the deep forest that was untouched by the sky peoples fire. He knew that you were frequently visiting your brother at the tree, often ignoring the need for water and food, spending hours upon hours at the glowing Spirit Tree. He was worried that you didn’t eat yet. Worried that you were indirectly killing yourself as punishment for your brother's death.
Your silence is his answer, making him deeply inhale as he moved closer to your figure, fingers still moving against your scalp.
“You should eat, baby,” he mumbled, trying to get you to look back at him as he lowered his face to meet your gaze, “Don’t have to eat everything, can be just one bite.”.
You knew he was right but you couldn’t bring yourself to stomach the thought of eating anything. Your appetite had greatly diminished following Kelu’s funeral. Your body was too consumed with grief to hold anything down or barely even chew for that matter. But you would be willing to try. Try for Lo’ak.
You nodded your head in response to Lo’ak’s words, leaning into the boys side. Your head gently laid on his shoulder and his arm wrapped around your waist, hand resting against your hip bone.
Everything was quiet for a couple of beats, the sounds of the forest echoing throughout the area. Until Lo’ak spoke up.
“I’m sorry, yawne,” he whispers, voice slightly cracking at the truthfulness behind his words, “I’m so sorry that you had to experience that. That your home was destroyed. That the sky demons hurt you. I should’ve done better at protecting you from my Fathers sins.”.
His words made your heart stop, causing you to pull your head from his shoulder to turn towards him, an unreadable expression painted across your face.
Your heart sunk at his confession. You knew that your prior words to him days before may have had something to do with it. You may have meant it in the moment but you no longer believed them to be true. Lo’ak shouldn’t protect you from his Fathers sins no more than you could protect him from your own Fathers. It shouldn’t be his responsibility.
“It is not your fault, Ma Lo’ak,” you mumbled, bringing your left hand up to rest on his cheek, “It is not your responsibility to protect me from your Fathers past. It is him who should protect you from it, fight it,” you finish, him melting at finally feeling your touch after being deprived from it for days.
“I am sorry that my words had affected you as much as they did, my yawntutsyip,” you added, kissing the tip of his nose in reassurance, “I was…so angry and needed to blame something. I know it doesn’t excuse what I said to you. I’m glad you came into my life when you did, even with the consequences that followed.”.
Tears fell from Lo’ak eyes. This was the most you had talked to him since you dismissed him the night of your brother's death. He desperately missed the sound of your voice.
“There’s no need to apologize, my txe’lan,” he replied, bringing your face into his hands as his lips met yours in a gentle kiss. Your lips moved in tandem together, hands going up to grasp whatever body part was closest. He was the first one to pull away from the kiss, not wanting to leave the warmth of your lips against his, “I understand. I just wished that I could’ve protected you from that kind of hurt. You do not deserve that kind of pain,” he continued, resting his forehead against yours.
You didn’t reply to his reassuring words, pulling your lover into a searing kiss, pouring all of your love and affection you held for Lo’ak into the action. You felt guilty for avoiding him for days and that you possibly caused him immense hurt from your words. You wanted him to know that you felt regretful for how you acted.
A soft chuckle fell from Lo’ak lips as they slotted against yours, bringing you even closer by pulling you in by his hands on your face. He knew to take what you had said and how you acted with a grain of salt. He knew that you truly didn’t mean what you said. That you were too overcome with grief to properly think. He was sympathetic towards your situation and tried to understand what you were going through. He would’ve acted the same way if he lost one of his siblings the way you did. He thought you were strong for continuing on even after the traumatic death of your brother. He couldn’t imagine him doing the same if he were in your shoes.
You were the one to pull away from the kiss this time, breathing deeply and heavily as you did so.
“We’ll get through this together. Yeah?” Lo’ak muttered, stroking your jaw with his thumb as he gazed at you through heavy lidded eyes. He wanted to help you in your healing journey and he’d help in any way he could.
You only nodded in response to his words, eyes closing at the repetitive soothing motion of Lo’ak’s thumb on your skin.
You knew that with time, you’d heal and the pain would be easier to deal with, especially if you had Lo’ak by your side. Nothing is ever too broken to be fixed or mended back together and Lo’ak would be there to pick up the pieces if you ever fell back into this state again.

The stiff fibers of your newly weaved basket rubbed gently against the palm of your hand and finger tips as you walked down the small path in the forest.
You were on your way to forage Lionberry seeds as well as the Melon Tree fruit you’ve been craving to taste for the past few days.
As you continued walking down the path you were able to spot a small cluster of the blue Lionberry seeds, almost successfully tucked away behind a few trees.
Once you made your way to the plants, and plucked enough seeds from the center. Snacking on some yourself for the extra energy, you ventured back onto the path.
The chirps and abundant distant howls brought a serene atmosphere to everything as you walked through the sunlit forest. Your eyes still peeled looking for the Melon Trees.
Which was right up across the path, a clearing that held a bunch of the Melon Trees and the fruits you had been searching for.
As you walked into the passageway, a feeling of trepidation pooled hot into your stomach as you stared at the muscular back of a young na’vi man who was picking the fruits you were about to.
You were frozen in the entrance of the passage way, thinking about the only three options you could go about the situation you were in, or bound to be in.
1. Back away slowly and forget you even wanted fruit in the first place.
2. Walk into the clearing and pick the fruit as if nobody was there.
Or 3.. Which you were currently doing. Continue to stare at this young man who is definitely your age’s back.
Embarrassment pinged down your spine as your face grew hot at the sight in front of you. Diverting your dry eyes and walking into the foliage either way.
Trying to ignore that you would be in there regardless of the fact that there was a boy there too.
Or may you say man.. The physique of his body made him look like he was not one to be trifled with.
The almost silent patters of your feet against the grass caught his attention as he turned his head towards you. His eyes widening for a split second as he saw you, up close.
“Y/n, Oel Ngati Kameie.” He did the universal sign of respect and greeting.
“Oel Ngati Kameie. I don’t think we’ve ever met before. Tell me, what is your name?” You couldn’t even believe the words coming out of your own mouth.
When did you ever want to start a conversation? The tone you used made you sound like your mother. Nothing was wrong with that. But where the hell did it come from?
“My name is Awpxey! It’s nice to formally meet you,” A close-eyed smile took over his features, your eyes looking up into his face at the bright attitude.
“It is nice to formally meet you too, Awpxey. I see you were picking Melon Tree fruit, they are ripe enough now correct?” Your fingers tightened against the handle of the basket. The fibers feeling as though they were gonna snap with the pressure you applied on them.
‘Why are am I being so awkward? I mean at least I didn’t ask him how’s he’s doing! Don’t conversations always go downhill from there?’
“Ah yes, all the fruits are seemingly becoming more ripe by they day. Finally, I have been waiting to long for these fruits. But they are to good to forget about.”
You nodded along in silent agreement with his words.
“It’s a bit of a mood spoiler when you find your favorite fruit isn’t ripe yet isn’t it?” Your body language was against your own better judgment.
Your tail low and swaying, the short grass tickling the underside as it swished faster the longer you stood in front of him.
“Yes! It kills my day every time!”
The both of you stood still. Awpxey was stuck staring into your eyes. His body stiff as he stood in front of you before he cleared his throat, his face getting hot.
“W-well, I should let you go get your fruit then! I still have to finish picking mine..” Awpxey gave a small chuckle as he rubbed the back of his neck. His face turning a light shade of purple as he blushed before turning his face in the direction of his basket.
‘Did I just stutter? In front of Y/n? You’ve gotta be joking. Literally.’
“Yeah.. uhm, yeah. I’ll be right, uh, right there,” you pointed to a specific Melon Tree that had not gotten picked yet. Far enough away from the one Awpxey was at but just close enough.
“Great, well, I’ll be right there then.” Awpxey reluctantly turned his face back towards Y/n. A nervous smile on his face.
You give him a smile and a small nod, walking over to the tree you had pointed out. Going about your business picking the medium sized fruits off of the tree.
The clearing was now filled with a comfortable silence, the rustles of the leaves and the crunches of the grass set a peaceful ambience to the area.
That was until a loud snap rang in the area, your shoulders tensed at the unreasonably loud sound. A small, embarrassed ‘oh’ being said but not by you.
It was Awpxey. His basket that carried a good amount of Melon Tree fruit snapped. Breaking due to the pressure of so much fruit on it, not only that but it was certainly worn down.
“Here, let me help.” You brought your basket over to Awpxey, picking up his fallen fruits and putting them in your own basket.
“No Y/n, no. You do not have to carry my fruit for me, plus, you have seeds in here, it might break again.” Awpxey felt guilty as he watched you pick up his fruit. Awkwardly holding the few in his hand as he refused to place it in your basket.
You took the fruits out his hands — a spark running up your hands — and placed them into your basket, picking up and placing the remaining fruit in your basket before standing back up.
“Come.” You beckoned him to follow behind you, which he quickly did.
“I will weave you a new basket. Meet me here tomorrow at the same time and I will give it to you.” You spoke as you walked out the clearing.
You were offering, but also demanding at the same time. You’ve had time on your hands recently. So what good to do with it than make a basket for someone who’s just broke?
Awpxey’s eyes widened. “No Y/n! You don’t have to do that, seriously! It’s alright I promise,” Awpxey was trying to convince you he didn’t need a new one. But you knew better.
“Not asking Awpxey, come here tomorrow and you will have a new basket.”
Awpxey’s shoulders slouched as he realized you wouldn’t change your mind. “Okay…” He said with a grumble as you walked in front of him.
Once you made it back to High Camp, you asked Awpxey to direct you both towards his family’s hut so you can drop off his fruit. An apprehensive look developed on his face as he got closer to his family’s home.
Hoping his parents wouldn’t say something that could drive you away.
You both entered his family’s kelku, a small smile on your face as you looked towards his parents.
Who had turned to face you quickly once they seen you walk in, their current conversation put to hold as shock visibly enveloped their faces.
“Oel Ngati Kameie.” You greeted, bringing your hand to your forehead before taking it back down.
They both recuperated themselves, and greeted you back, “Oel Ngati Kameie.” His parents had small smiles on their face also. Their minds jumping when they noticed the basket full of the Melon Tree fruit. Was it an offering to ask for their blessing?
Awpxey’s face dropped and started to get hot as he realized where his parents minds were turning to, but before he could say anything, his mother spoke.
“Y/n, what brings you here dear? And with all that fruit!” Itxä was a nice woman, you’ve met her before at clan gatherings and have spoken to her while she was in Mo’at’s tent more than a few times.
“I came to help bring Awpxey’s fruit back! His basket broke while he was picking the fruit and I decided to put them in mine! I do plan on weaving him a new basket, he will receive it tomorrow!” You explained yourself in a soft tone, his parents were sweet people.
Awpxey’s father, Puo was a funny and sweet man. Always wishing to keep the ones around him safe and happy.
“And you’re holding the basket? Awpxey! I took a long time out of my days to teach you to be a gentleman and this is how you turn up?” Puo exclaimed. You covered your smile with your hand as you watched Awpxey put his hands forward, trying to explain himself to his father.
“No dad!- That’s not even what happened!-“ Puo looked at his son with a bored look as he put his hands on his hips.
“Well from what I’m seeing, that is what happened. You idiot!” You never knew men could be so sassy, but you have your own fair share at your home.
And it’s not just Tuk.
Itxä helped you sort the Melon Tree fruits into their own fruit bowl, making sure you had more still in your basket, much to your own protests before she sent you off with a smile.
As you walked home, it was almost as if realization was settling into you.
You just went to that boy’s home.. Met his parents. And talked with his mother…
A blush adorned your face once you entered your own hut. Quickly setting away the fruits before anyone could notice your warm face.
But it just had to be your father who spoke up first.
“What’s got your face all warmed up babygirl?” Dread was the only thing you felt once you heard all the conversations stop. All eyes turning towards you.
Lo’ak smirked, deciding on taking his chance to do his daily readings.
“Yeah big sis. Couldn’t help but notice you came home blushing.. Did you meet a boy?” You cringed as you heard the smile in his tone. And cringed at how he got his reading assumption, correct.
You hissed lightly in his direction to defend yourself.
“Shut the hell up Lo’ak! I didn’t meet anybody. And even if I did. It’s definitely not any of your monkey brain business.” You clapped back at him verbally, which shut him up.
For only a few seconds.
“I do not have a monkey brain! And even if I did, don’t you remember what Norm said? He said monkeys were one of the smartest animals, since they were like human technically?” He thought he had shut you up now, that was before you noticed this was just gonna become a stupid bickering back and forth that could go on for hours.
“Who are you trying to fool Lo’ak? You’re one of the dumbest people I know.” Your arms were now crossed over your chest. Facing him as you say on the floor, trying to start weaving Awpxey’s basket.
“Oh yeah? Well then who’s the smartest person you know!?” You don’t know where he was going with that, but you answered anyway.
“I am.” You said nonchalantly and started to make the basket.
Tuk scoffed loudly as her face scrunched.
“Excuse me? I thought I was the smartest person you knew Y/n!” Tuk’s tone was smart mouthed.
Your eyes widened as you realized what you said. “I was just joking Tuk! You know you’re the smartest person here!”
Now it was your father’s turn to scoff, placing his hand on his chest.
“But you said I was the smartest babygirl?” Now everyone was looking between you and your father. And your face held disbelief as you paused in weaving.
“Um… Well… Yeah you are too dad!” You noticed your mother patting your father’s shoulder as he held a look of exaggerated betrayal on his face.
“Can I weave in peace?” You ask defeatedly. Neteyam’s face scruched in confusion at your question.
“Didn’t you just finish weaving one, like yesterday?”
Dread, once again, enveloped your body as embarrassment sunk in. Lo’ak was having a ball at your flushed face and obvious body language.
“You’re making one for a boy aren’t you?” His tone was sleazy and you wanted to sucker punch him right in his nose.
“Shut up Lo’ak!”
Your father’s face twisted into a grimace, “you’re courting somebody?” His voice was dry, as if his mouth was only grating sandpaper.
“No dad! No, I’m not courting anybody. I’m only doing somebody a favor..” The way your dad visibly softened his back and rested against your mother made you feel calmer.
“Who are you weaving for ma’ite?” As soon as the question left your mother’s lips, everyone in the room perked up and stared at you.
“Umm… It’s for Itxä’s and Puo’s son..” Your parents smiled at the familiar names.
“Itxä is a nice woman, she’s sweet.” Your mother stated.
“Puo’s one funny man isn’t he?” Your father said chuckling. You nodded with a small smile, finally feeling in the clear as the random chatter started all over again.
“Wait.. Did you say son?” Neteyam spoke looking at you, 5 other heads turning in your direction once more.
You groaned, now annoyed at the fact the attention was on you once again.
“Yes Neteyam. I said son.” You grumbled.
“Why are you making a basket for him Y/n?” Tuk asked as she moved to sit next to you on the floor, curling up into your side.
“His broke Tuk-Tuk, I’m just doing him a favor.” You explained as you put your arm around Tuk, playing with one of her short braids softly.
“How do you know his basket broke?” Kiri asked with a smirk. You felt like your heart almost broke. Never, ever did you expect Kiri to join in on your brother’s teasing you.
“Were you guys out, together?” Lo’ak questioned next. Raising his eyebrows up and down repeatedly, taunting you.
“Did nothing interesting happen while I was gone? Why are you guys so focused on me. Like didn’t Lo’ak shit himself 4 days ago or something?”
Lo’ak’s face paled. “That was eight years ago you skxawng!”
“Oh, well it feels like yesterday-”
“Language, both of you.” Your dad cut in.
“Skxawng isn’t even a bad word!” Lo’ak was quick to try and defend himself.
“But it is an insult, and Y/n, you know better to be swearing here. Tuk is here!” Your mother scolded you both.
“Huh?” Tuk said as she looked over to Neytiri, she hadn’t even been listening.
“Well never mind that then. But anyway, you both know to watch your mouths.”
Lo’ak grumbled his incessant nothings while you continued to weave.
Hours passed in the blink of an eye, the basket was fortunately halfway done and it was dinner time. Tuk had ended up falling asleep against you, so you woke her gently before joining your family at the table.
You all ate, somewhat peacefully, as Lo’ak sped through the whole meal and almost choked more than you can count on two hands.
Once dinner was over you helped clean up the table and settle everything away.
Taking it upon yourself to put Tuk to bed early as she seemed so tired.
You brought yourself back to the center of you kelku, trying to at least finish the basket before tomorrow.
Jake watched you sadly from the table. His ears folded down and eyes looking a darker yellow with sadness.
Neytiri noticed his grim attitude immediately. “Ma’Jake? What is wrong?” She sat next to him, placing her hand on his shoulder.
He looked at you a bit more before turning back to Neytiri.
“She’s already growing up so fast… like she’s getting a boyfriend?.. It feels like just yesterday I was holding her while she cried..."
Jake remembers how tough you were to put to sleep at one point. Missing that feeling of pride he had when you finally closed your eyes.
Neytiri cringed as she realized what she’s gonna say may hurt Jake’s feelings.
“Well you could always hold her.. The crying part may or may not happen…” Neytiri hoped she spoke so quiet Jake couldn’t hear her, but Neytiri knew better.
“What do you mean by that?” Jake was quick to ask.
“She’s met a boy Jake.. You never know what path Eywa has planned for her. Maybe she could stay with Awpxey forever, maybe Awpxey could break her heart. But no matter what happens ma’Jake, you have to be there for her always. You are her father, one of her confiders. She trusts you, and forever will.”
At this point Jake was a blink away from bawling like a baby. Neytiri’s words gave him a newfound confidence, but also a newfound fear.
He didn’t want you to go around chasing boys, and getting your heart broken in return.
The last thing he wanted his sweet babygirl to run into was a player. But he felt a feeling in his heart that told him not to interfere.
It was to be left up to Eywa. Your fate and will was in her hands.
In your own head, you weren’t really thinking about a future or anything with Awpxey. You were doing him a simple favor. But you couldn’t help yourself as your mind drifted to the memory of his back in the sunlit clearing.
Your hands became clammy and your throat dried. Heat bursting in your neck and spreading down your spine to your whole body.
Your hands moved hastily, finishing up the basket with an embarrassed huff. You were hoping nobody was looking at you.
“Come you guys, it is time for us to sleep!” Your mother whisper shouted. Acknowledging the fact Tuk was already asleep.
You all complied, filing into your sleeping mats and saying goodnight.
A giddy feeling was all you could feel in your chest and stomach as a smile broke out onto your face.
You were going to see Awpxey tomorrow and you were beyond ecstatic. You closed your eyes as they began to fall shut themselves.
In the morning when you all awoke and gravitated towards the table for breakfast, you embarrassingly ate at a pace that would put Lo'ak to shame.
Lo’ak was feeding into your flushed face and rushed actions.
“What's the matter big sis?” He asked, cocking his eyebrow annoyingly with a sneer on his face. “You excited to see your boyfriend?”
You growled at him in annoyance, “He is not my boyfriend.”
“Yet,” Kiri added before covering her mouth with her hand, trying to mask her smile.
"Kiri!" You said in an irritated tone.
"Why are you joining them with their bs!?” You felt like you were being cornered, without a corner.
“Watch your mouth,” your father grumbled exasperatedly.
“Fine.” You sighed, finishing your breakfast a whole lot slower now.
“Y/n? Can we go to the forest with you too?” Tuk laid her head against your collarbone, closing her eyes as she felt your hand brush through her braids softly.
“I’m sorry Tuk, not right now. But if you want, later we can go to Grandmother’s tent and I could teach you a few more things…” You whispered into her ear, watching how it perked as you spoke about teaching her new things.
“Of course! Only if you pinky promise!” You laughed as you folded your other fingers down, leaving your ring finger sticking out awkwardly.
When you, Kiri, and Lo’ak were younger your father had taught you about pinky promises. You three made promises about random stuff almost everyday.
Tuk and Neteyam picked up an it quickly and wanted to try and make them too, just using their last finger as a makeshift pinky.
“I promise Tuk, okay? I’ll see you later.” You kissed the top of her head before grabbing the new basket you made and waving to your family.
Your pace was almost a skip as you went towards the ikran, mounting yours and quickly flying down to the large forest below.
Your keen eyes surveyed the forest from above trying your best to look for the clearing you and Awpxey were just at yesterday.
When you finally spotted it, you landed your ikran a little bit away from it, choosing to have a small walk the rest of the way.
When you finally entered the clearing, you were greeted with the same muscular back you saw yesterday.
Awpxey gave you a smile as he seen you, quickly walking towards you.
“Hi Y/n.” He said in an almost hushed tone.
“Hi Awpxey.” Your voice was breathy, light and clear as it traveled to Awpxey’s ears. Which turned a darker pink as they folded against his head.
“Here’s your basket, I hope you like it!” You presented the gift to him, and he took it with hasty hands and and a happy face.
“It’s perfect Y/n! Thank you so much!”
Your face heated as you felt shy under his praise and gaze.
“Y-Yeah it’s no problem at all Awpxey, if you ever need anything else you can always tell me.”
He smiled, his fingers fidgeting with the strong fibers of the weaving.
“I definitely will..”
A quiet pause enveloped the clearing, it wasn’t awkward. Just silence, with the sounds of chirping and hooting from other animals in the forest.
“Hey Y/n… I was wondering if you wanna hang out?” Awpxey’s voice came out slow and controlled. Almost as if he was rehearsing. Which he had.
There was a quick blank silence.
“N-Now?” Your mind was still working on trying to process what you had heard. But once it clicked you answered back quickly.
“Yeah that’s fine Awpxey, w-we can hang out if you want.” You didn’t even know when he wanted to hang out, but you had no objections if it were to be right now.
Awpxey’s tail was shaking behind his back, as he was trying his best to not let it sway to excitedly where you would notice.
You were on the same page as him, fighting the urge to reach behind your back and pull your own tail.
Awpxey nodded, “I was gonna ask if you think now is okay?..”
“Now’s perfectly fine!” Your smile was small, though it was grateful.
That whole day, you and Awpxey strolled around the forest, looking at all the different animals and plants.
Multiple “accidents” happened where as you both walked, your hands would bump. There was a unfamiliar feeling that would bloom in your stomach as his touch sent an electric shock up your arm.
Eclipse was bound to happen soon, so you both decided it would be smart to start heading home now.
As you two continued to walk side by side, the sudden memory of this morning and Tuk rushed through your head.
You had spent the whole day with Awpxey, you forgot about literally everything.
Your steps paused, hand coming to your forehead as you sucked a guilty sigh.
Awpxey was quick to stop, turning to face you quickly.
“Y/n? Are you alright? What has happened?” He paced a step closer, placing his hands and your shoulders.
You had a grimace on your face,
“I forgot that my younger sister wanted to play with me today… Gosh how could I have forgotten?” Guilt was eating away at you.
Tuk was probably home all day, waiting for you, and most likely pestering your parents for when you were to come home.
Awpxey gave a small reassuring smile. He had no siblings, so he couldn’t really say he understood. But he understood the guilt of being late.
“I am sure she will me alright Y/n, we should get you home now so you don’t make her wait any longer!” Awpxey nudged you forward gently, to which you complied and walked.
“I promised her- Promised! That since we couldn’t come to the forest, I would teach her new things about different herbs and pastes in our grandmothers tent together.”
You were rambling, talking with your hands. You felt disappointed in yourself.
How could one make a promise and just forget it?
Awpxey just walked next to you, soft smile adorning his full lips. He could tell you felt guilty about leaving your sister, so he let you ramble and didn’t interrupt you to try and invalidate your feelings in any way.
Once back at High Camp, you wanted to go home quick, but you never left without saying goodbye.
“Bye Awpxey! It was really nice hanging out with you today, had lots of fun! We should do it again!”
You were saying as you scurried off your ikran, facing him quick.
Awpxey climbed down with grace.
“I know, it was really nice today Y/n. We have to do it again.” His voice was so deep and sultry, a rumble passed through your bones.
Purple was becoming to spread on your face, so you turned quickly and ran home.
“Bye Awpxey!” You threw over your shoulder, sending him a small wave.
“Bye Y/n..” He lifted his hand a bit to wave too, although his goodbye was quite silent.
You didn’t even want to enter your kelku.
You walked so slow towards the enterance of your home, taking deep breaths as to just calm yourself down.
Though you ended up entering quick due to the guilt that ate away at your stomach.
You felt irresponsible.
How could you just have left Tuk over him? Over a boy?
Your whole life all you have been taught was to just care for your family. Only pay attention to your family.
They are what’s most important. Your responsibility.
“Tuk-” You mutter as you enter the hut.
Eyes turn to you, studying. But in your state of mind they felt judging.
“Hi Y/n.” Tuk said with a wave and smile, she held a snack in her hand.
“Tuk. I’m really sorry about not coming home earlier. I know I said I was going to take you to see grandma but I really forgot, it completely slipped my mind and-“
You were cut off.
“Y/n.” It was your father. Jake’s gravely voice grounded you quick, snapping you up straight.
“It’s fine you didn’t come and get her, she was sleeping for almost the whole day anyway. She had a headache.” Your father explained to you.
It didn’t help. It made you feel more guiltier than ever.
You should have been there. She was in pain.
“Oh.. Are you feeling better Tuk?” You were now next to her, placing your hand on her forehead.
“Mhm! I got snacks, see?” Tuk held up her small handful of cut up Melon Tree Fruit.
Seeing it made your heart thump just a bit harder.
It was the exact fruit that had made you meet your ma- The man you were with today.
“Oh, well that’s good. Do they taste good? Are they ripe yet?” You examine the fruits color from afar.
“Y/n.”
The voice pulled your attention from Tuk.
It was your father who had called you.
This alone made your mouth feel sticky, your hands already becoming clammy.
“Yeah dad?” You tried your hardest to make your voice the same tone it was before, to not sound nervous.
To not crumble under the gaze of your mother. Nor your siblings who were barely visible.
“Can I talk to you for a minute?”
Shit.
Did you do something? You raked your head as hard as you could to think of any recent events that could have possibly gotten you in trouble.
Was this about Awpxey?
Before you even noticed you were at a secluded area of your family’s kelku.
Alone with your father, and beyond nervous.
“Come, sit with me babygirl.” Your dad waved his hand towards himself, taking a seat onto the floor in a criss crossed position.
You quickly sat down, deciding to sit with your legs to your chest for now.
Your ears twitched as you heard your dad sigh. A pit crating into your stomach.
Was he upset with you?
“I’m not angry with you babygirl.. I just have.. A few questions is all.” He spoke softly. His voice hesitant and surprisingly, nervous.
You nodded, “okay dad. You can ask me.”
Your father opened his mouth, taking in a breath before closing it and turning his head. He didn’t know what to say, how to ask his question.
Your fingers fidgeted with the jewelry on your hands.
Just how nervous was he to not even be able to face you and speak?
“That… Boy. That you’ve been talking to recently, Awpxey. The ones your siblings keep teasing you about.” The sentence came out stiff, hesitant. As if it hurt him to even say the boy’s name in a sentence.
You nodded, signaling to him to carry on.
“I was, um, just wondering if you guys are… You know.” Your father lifted his hands at the end of his sentence.
You were trying to process his words, what is he even talking about?
Then it suddenly clicked.
He thinks you and Awpxey are dating.
Oh god.
“Dating?” You say the word out loud, it sounds so taboo to even say it. In front of your father no less.
“Yeah. Yeah, dating.. Are you guys, dating?” Your father almost looked pale. What exactly is going on here?
“We’re not dating. No, definitely not.” You were quick to respond. You hoped it wasn’t to fast to be considered ‘suspicious’.
You father slowly nodded, his lips pursed as he was working your words.
“Well, I just. I really, um, wanted to tell you that..” There was a pause.
It was really hitting Jake now.
His babygirl is growing up.
This is going to be a new chapter in everyone's lives.
You've found love.
Now he— and everybody else— is going to have to learn how to transition from having you most of the time to having barely seeing you. Though he's come to realize, it's been like that ever since you moved to High Camp.
Jake has come to terms that he isn't the best father. But he loves all his children. And always will. And Eywa knows he prays so much to her at night. Asking for patience, knowledge, and strength to help him become a better father.
It’s going to be hard for him to accept that his babygirl is growing up.
Jake took in a much needed breath, “I just wanted to tell you I love you.” His nod and smile gave you that feeling of happiness from back when you were younger.
“And that I’m here for you, always will be. I will be your shoulder to cry when you need it, I’ll listen to every problem you want me to hear because I love you. I want to see you mentally, not only physically as my daughter. But emotionally as my first baby.” Jake’s voice cracked slightly throughout his sentences. Small tears pricked the corners of his eyes.
You were no better. As soon as he said he loved you, your eyes burned. It feels so good to hear your parents say they love you when you feel they haven’t said it in such a long time.
You wiped your eyes, “I love you too dad. And I’ll be here for you too. You can tell me anything too.” Both of you were vulnerable. Your hearts were exposed, almost as if they were out of your chests. The words your father shared were deep. It was personal, but he still told you.
Because he wanted to.
“And I also want you to know. You have my blessing. If that boy starts courting you and you know truly that he’s the one you want and the one you see. You have my blessing.”
Your smiles were contagious, both of you had mirrored smiles on your face, giggling at each others slowly swollen faces.
Before embracing in a much needed, daddy-daughter hug.

THREE : THREESOME <3
ROMANCING PANDORA EVENT
TSU'TEY X OC X SO'LEK
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
many na'vi have experienced their chance of a lifetime in bonding and mating with their partner they've had set their eyes on. getting to know them on a spiritual and and friendship level to remember their likings and passion to gain a smile and slight touch of their hand on theirs.
to experience the life of youth with love and happiness alongside your mate.
for so'lek, it was different.
a young, well respected warrior's life changed drastically when he lost his entire clan. ever since he didn't want to seek out a potential na'vi for his liking because he swore revenge on his people.
after planning to live alone in the wilderness, one na'vi decided to persuade him to stay. not a na'vi, a dream walker who eywa has chosen to live in her na'vi body.
selena. jake sully's sister.
he highly respects jake but not knowing he had a relative made it more difficult.
the second his eyes laid on her, his heart stopped then it accelerated from her friendly smile and wanted to talk with him. the way she moves differently than other na'vi women, her strong presence before him had his knees buckled, her overwhelming scent filling his nose. the hair style and wardrobe she put on fits her right in with the rest of the na'vi. her slender but built figure is so alluring.
she made him weak. she was the first to have him experience these new things. the first na'vi who gave him an experience.
selena caught him off guard when she hugged him all of a sudden that his tail wagged and his body tensed, "i'm sorry for what happened with your clan. if there's anything you need you can ask jake or you can stay here with the omatikaya. the other clans have decided to stay."
so'lek couldn't speak but he had to so he wouldn't weird her out, "i am alright. i don't need to merge with your clan. i am planning for revenge against the sky people if they return. i must take my leave." he felt guilty and stupid for passing up an opportunity to know more about her.
she nods with a sad expression, "of course. i understand. what's your name?"
his ears perked at the mention of knowing his name, "so'lek."
she smiled more and held his hands, "that's a nice name, so'lek. i hope to see you some day." with a kiss on his cheek, she left him alone with his thoughts as he touched his cheek where she put her lips on. he began to fluster madly at the affection.
the na'vi warrior brushed it off, gathering his things and left to venture off alone into the forest.
that was years ago when he felt a void in his heart and a vacant soul ever since. knowing he'd regret coming back and decide to follow his heart when he found a tree of voices, he returned to find the hidden clan.
many clues and traces passed when he saw a couple of hunters hunting the area and flew up the hallelujah mountains.
upon arriving at the hidden spot of the omatikaya, he was surrounded by them with arrows and guns pointing at him for questioning. he wanted to explain when selena came into view with her brother.
so'lek pointed towards her, "you know me. remember."
selena's ears perked when she heard his voice and stood in front of him with a smile, "i'd known you'd come back, so'lek."
there it was again. that same feeling. his heart began to thumping rapidly and his palms started to sweat. "yes i guess i came for you."
his answer shocked her but she continued to smile, grabbing his hand to pull him somewhere, "i'll show you around."
he didn't know where they were going but he knew by the new scent of hers, she wasn't alone. she was mated with another.
by the time he stayed with the omatikaya, he learned she mated with the infamous and brave warrior that survived a big fall and bullets to his body.
no matter that she was mated and bonded with another, he still desired her and wished to taste her and tsu'tey noticed this.
tsu'tey knows the lust and smell of hormones reeking of this young male na'vi wanting his tanhi. he wants to show this stranger that this woman was his alone but he saw how his mate expressed herself with the young male.
selena talks about him whenever she gets the chance and she was starting to smell like him from showing him around.
his mind went to imagining the possibilities of seeing her get her pussy rammed by another man's cock while looking at him, begging him to put his in. kissing her lips while he fucks her pussy and so'lek wanting to do the same but he can't, her lips are his. rubbing her clit hard while the male fucks her hole just to see her squirt and sucks on her nipple.
tsu'tey decided to bring up the topic of bringing in another person into their relationship and she was surprised since he's hostile and possessive when it came to his mate.
in the end, they agreed to have so'lek in their relationship in a poly and selena couldn't wait.
this is where they are now.
so'lek was sitting with selena sitting on his cock reverse cowgirl with his hands on her thighs, spreading them wide for tsu'tey to admire. tsu'tey went down to put his mouth on her clit to suck on while so'lek fucked her relentlessly because of good she felt when she clenched on him.
"so'lek....oh so'lek!" selena moaned with her tail wagging and found his tail to wrap around it while she turned his head to kiss him tenderly but passionately. the young male grunted against her lips and sucked on her tongue as he thrusted desperately into her pussy. tsu'tey was getting a little jealous of their intimate moments so he went to put her nipple in his mouth and swirls his tongue around the bud as he rubs her clit slowly and harshly to edge her.
selena whimpers against so'lek's lips feeling tsu'tey's rough tongue on her bud giving her the pleasure of recovering this kind of treatment from both males.
"ma tanhi, you are not paying attention to me." tsu'tey says in an annoyed tone but selena reassures him with caressing his ears and hair.
she separates her lips from him and kisses him and uses her hand to jerk him off and guide his cock to her pussy. she wants both of them.
"ma tsu'tey....don't be jealous. i love both of you. put it in, yawne." she says in between breaths and gasps from the tip of tsu'tey's cock rubbing her clit. tsu'tey slightly pushes his cock in and hisses at the pressure added with pleasure when it's inside with another. so'lek whimpers, continuing to push his deeper and faster so desperate to cum from her pussy alone.
so'lek thought this was impossible but now, it is not. he doesn't want to push it when they've barely begun as a poly relationship. either way he wants to take the leap.
so'lek grabs his queue and shows it to selena and tsu'tey to indicate what he wants. with his other hand around her waist and his lips nibbling her ear, "please....bond with me....i want to feel it."
selena didn't think twice, grabbing tsu'tey's and her braid, showing their tendrils to connect with so'lek's. tsu'tey didn't mind, he was going to share with the other male and willing to accept him as a mate as long they got along.
all three of them connect with each other and a surge of love and passion connects them spiritually as they drown in their love. both males thrust into their mate and take turns in kissing each other. so'lek felt happy and at ease at finally not having one but two mates who will cherish him. he's not alone now.
all three of them came together and lovingly nibbled, kissed, and embraced each other with the warmth of their bodies with their queues still connected.

NOTE : i think i want to make a so'lek fic with tsu'tey after this came to mind 👀

Sweet Visions of a flower
Summary: Syulang (OC) is an orphaned girl after the destruction of Hometree. She is constantly reminded of this by her amputated left leg though she no longer dreams of her deep trauma. She is betrayed by the very people she trusted, leaving her with nothing once again.
A/N: Im back from my break, and after deliberating for a while, I have finally finished Sweet Visions of a Flower. This has been a story I’ve struggled to write because there was so much to unpack. And initially, I wanted to write a sad ending but ended up writing a somewhat wholesome ending. I hated writing it, but I’m just glad this series has ended!
FINAL PART
Tumblr media
Letting Quaritch take the lead, Ja explained how they waltzed back into Bridgehead and despite Adrmore’s harassment Quaritch just explained that they integrated with the Na’vi and were stripped of their gear so they couldn't communicate to her in Bridgehead. Ardmore was skeptical but let Quaritch continue. Whilst Adrmore dismissed all the recoms to have a private chat with Quaritch, they went ahead and started planting small bombs and their weaponry around Bridgehead, just in case they needed them.
Almost getting caught a few times but playing it cool, whenever someone stopped to question them. After completing their tasks, they finally gathered at the entrance, ready to blow the Bridgehead sky high. But what they forgot to account for was Fike and Brown’s intense loyalty to Quaritch when Ardmore finally caught onto what was happening. Aiming her gun towards their Colonel, Fike dove in front taking a bullet for his superior officer. Brown died trying to save Fike, as the Colonel was being dragged away by Zhang just as Bridgehead was exploding, taking a shard of metal through his chest whilst protecting Quaritch. Warren noticed Lyle wasn’t with the group when Bridgehead exploded, who ran through the maze of flames to find him, only to come across Quaritch managing to lead him out, but ran back into the burning mass to find Lyle, and that was the last they saw of him as the metal construction frames began falling. It was chaos. When he didn't come back out, they all knew he had perished. Hell, they though Lyle died in the fire too, that was until Prager decided to walk the perimeter yelling out his name, stumbling across me with Lyle.
Which leads us up to now. Ja just held me as we sat in silence. The recoms mourning their friends, comrades and brother in arms. I could tell Quaritch was taking it the hardest, he let his friends die. Lyle was still unconscious with a terrible injury, Prager trying his best to deal with it.
“We should go back to High Camp. Get Lyle the help he needs,” Quaritch finally said, standing up and calling for his ikran, Cupcake. The others sighed heavily doing the same. I did the same, calling for Azui. I contemplated telling Quaritch about Jake. About what he said, but I feared that he would react horribly. Best not add fuel to the fire. Turning to my palulukan, I just told her to follow after mounting my ikran, and we flew back to High Camp. I kept my eye on Quaritch, knowing that same grief and pain of losing people who you care about.
Entering the vertical entrance of High Camp, we were greeted by our clanspeople. Jake, Neytiri and the kids are nowhere in sight. Ja and I rushed to Prager’s side, helping to grab Lyle from upon his ikran. The two of us rushed toward the healing tent. Throwing the flap open, Ninat was there with Mo’at. Ja gently lay Lyle on a cot before Mo’at checked his gaping wound.
“This injury is too great. He has broken bones and requires surgery,” the tent flap was thrown open as Quaritch entered in a frenzy. It was hard to watch his face contort into stricken sorrow. I couldn't help but feel anguish for Quaritch. Ja must have noticed my shoulders fall, leading me out the tent and brushing tears from my cheek. Being back in High Camp reminded me of Jake and Neytiri. I felt angry, but also guilty for the way I spoke to them, seeing Lyle in his unconscious and vulnerable state in comparison to his stoic, yet somewhat endearing goofy side reminded me of Jake. I should apologise to them.
Hugging Ja in a bone-crushing embrace, I pulled away before going to search for the Olo’eyktan and Tsakarem. Heading toward the Sully tent, I pushed the flap open and peeked in. It was empty…I didn't know what to say. Speeding toward the second location, the science lab. I pulled open the door finding Norm and Max chatting to one another, having not seen me yet.
“Hi Norm. Where is Jake?” his expression morphed into shock.
“Syulang?! You're still here? I thought you went with Jake,” he said.
“Went with Jake where?” my brows furrowed in mass confusion.
“T–They left…They’re gone Syulang,” my jaw dropped. They did it after all. They've abandoned me.
“Oh…Thanks Norm,” I turned not saying anything else, leaving the lab. I felt cold. My nerves completely numb as my head went blank. I was right after all. I cried…no. Wept. Through tears, I stumbled back to the empty Sully kelku. The only things there were my belongings that had been untouched since the early morning.
I cried into my hands, curling my body into the woven floor. I didn't hear anyone enter, but I felt their warm hand on my back.
“W-What’s going on?” Quaritch’s deep voice stuttered, trying to piece together why the tent was empty besides a small pile of my things. I looked up at his searching face. “Where’s Sully?”
I sniffled, “They’re gone. They’ve left,” I wiped my eyes, “They've left me,” I choked between sobs.
“Oh, sweetheart,” he cooed, taking me into his arms, swaying me like a fussing child.
“That's not all…” I didn't want to hesitate any more, “...He wanted to kill you. He wanted to kill your warriors. He told me…he told me that the only thing stopping him was me. So he brought you into High Camp to keep an eye on you…He didn't trust you…He never trusted you…But I though he did. Then he said that he was going to leave the clan,” I confessed, “I confronted him and I asked…I asked him if I was the same…he didn't say ‘no’ and he didn't say ‘yes’ either. I wanted to tell you earlier, but…” Quaritch hushed me as I began to break down again. “I vouched for you. I was the only one who stood up for you…for the others.”
I looked at the na’vi next to me, his expression was hardened. Furious. His eyes met mine.
“Listen to me, that man is nothing but a liar. He’s betrayed me once before and it cost me my life. But hell would I let it happen to you. His daughter,” I have never heard Quaritch speak like that before, it was almost…soft.
“I'm not his daughter – I never have been. Just someone he had to keep an eye on,” I rectified, as if I had a moment of clarity as old memories surfaced, “I was only there to watch his children, to be their protector, babysitter, a provider, a warrior – all those things. But not his daughter,” remembering the little times he’d call me by that word, but never in front of others. Did he really mean it, or was it just pretend? I could feel his eyes on the profile of my face, observing my profile.
“If you were my daughter, I would be the proudest father on Pandora,” Quaritch clicked his tongue, “Okay. Guys, I know you’re listening.”  There was a shuffling outside the tent, Ja, Mansk, Z-Dog, Lopez, Walker and Prager poked their heads into view. All with a look of disappointment. The lot of them filed into the tent one after another, no longer wearing their human clothes. Ja came to sit by my side, shooting Quaritch a look.
“With all due respect Colonel, please get your hand off my girl.” Quaritch retracted his hands, raising them in surrender, Ja pulled me into his lap wrapping his arms around my torso.
“What do I do now?” I just ask into the air. No one answers but looks at me, “what do we do now?” I ask looking at the other recoms. “There’s no more humans. You can do what you want now, you’re free.” Their ears perk up and their tails wag a little.
“Oh! I would love to explore more of Pandora!” Z-Dog exclaimed.
“I want to travel too!” Lopez piped up.
“I would like to settle down,” Mansk spoke up.
“Honestly, settling down sounds good,” Walker added.
“I want to learn more about healing!” Prager exclaimed. We all turned to look at Quaritch, whose ears perked a little.
“Uhh, I could train the warriors. But I wouldn’t mind travelling a bit, then maybe settle down somewhere,” Quaritch said. His answer was a bit unexpected, the other recoms looked a little surprised.
“What about you Ja? Syulang?” I looked at Ja for a moment before speaking, “I want to stay, someone has to lead the clan and protect it.”
“Then I’ll stay too. I want to be by your side,” Ja said. I couldn’t help but smile at his small acknowledgement.
What I didn’t know was that the role of Olo’eyktan was passed onto Tarsem, a young warrior who was born to lead. He was horrified to find that I was left behind by his former leader. Though he was happy to pass the role onto his former Olo’eyktan’s oldest adopted daughter. And so I became the first female leader of the clan and was officially courted by Ja. And much to Quaritch’s surprise I made him the teacher and leader of the warriors and those to come. In the end, I found a new family in the group of Recoms, former outcasts of the humans. Lyle, unfortunately had to have his leg amputated, but was fitted with a metal prosthetic leg much like mine and spent most of his time recovering.
You can say that the story ends happily, well almost…
Five years later…
I climbed onto my ikran, my little girl strapped to my front as Ja helped me on. Lyle did the same, checking his pack of belongings with some scientific equipment. Max finally showed up yawning at the early departure. Lyle reached down to grab him, Max sitting on the front of him.
“How long will it take to get there again?” Lyle asked once again.
“it’s the same answer Lyle, nine hours. Thirteen including breaks.
“Are you sure we should be flying for thirteen hours? You look like you're gonna pop before we get there,” referencing my pregnant belly.
“Oh you're soooo funny, Lyle,” Ja said sarcastically, climbing onto his own ikran, “That’s my wife you're talking to, and your Goddaughter or Godson in her belly.”
“Damn right! And I can’t wait to meet them by the way…” Lyle exclaimed excitedly.
“Let’s go! We have a long ride ahead!” I got tired of their bickering, making sure my daughter, just barely four years old, was comfortable, “Are you comfortable Lili?” She nodded whilst yawning. The sun had yet to rise as we left our Hometree. A while ago, whilst searching for a habitable giant tree for my clan to make into their home, Ja and I had to land due to a storm, finding the most perfect giant tree that was uninhabited. We spent the night there and let’s just say that was how our first child was conceived.
“Tell me again the reason why we have to fly nine…no thirteen hours to visit Awa’atlu again?” Lyle huffed.
“There was a message sent around Pandora to all human ally settlements. Ours just happen to be one. Max was the one to receive the message and as Olo’eyktan, I couldn’t just let him go to it alone.”
“That makes sense, but why is Lili coming? Surely she should stay home with her Aunty Walker.”
“She should see the other places on Pandora as well. Ya know? Might as well since she keeps hearing stories from Aunt Z and Uncle Lopez.”
“Ah, that's why she wanted to go. Plus! It’s my first time travelling to a sea clan. I heard from Z-Dog and Lopez that it’s a literal paradise!” I could hear Lyle’s grin.
We took off out of the jungle, heading toward the sea clans. Taking breaks every three to four hours to let out ikran rest. Arriving the the azure waters the very next day in the early afternoon. On our break just before arriving, Ja helped me dress in my Olo’eyktan cloak, a blue painted cape with yellow, green and red feathers. Taking our little girl to sit with him on the last leg of the ride as Max sat with me.
Flying toward the village, I flew around looking for a place to land our ikrans. Opting to land on a sand bank. I disconnected tsaheylu gliding down my ikrans wing, Max sliding down onto the white warm sand. A group of teal coloured Na’vi gathered as the clan’s leader approached, wearing a similar looking cape.
“Olo’eyktan Tonorwari, I see you,” I greeted him formally, plucking my fingers from my head as Max did the same. Ja and Lyle did the same out of respect, my little daughter copying her father as she was being carried in his arms.
“Olo’eyktan Syulang (daughter of mother and father (not Jake and Neytiri’s names)). It is a pleasure to finally meet you, I have heard the many stories of the legendary leader,” my ears perked up quizzically.
“Oh no, I am not legendary. I am merely a leader who takes care of her people,” I bow to him.
“And just as humble as they say,” he chuckled.
“They?”
“Why travellers of course, two jungle dwellers just as yourself,” Ugh, Z-Dog and Lopez, what did you tell them? Lyle and Ja’s ears perked, instantly knowing who it was. I just bow my head hiding a smile. Returning to face Tonowari, his mate Ronal appeared not too far, a darker blue figure approached with her. I squinted my eyes trying to put a finger on the familiarity. Neytiri. Her expression morphed into a shock as she walked closer with Ronal. Tonowari, noticing my gaze turned to see his wife, gesturing to introduce her. I greeted her much like I greeted Tonowari.
“Ronal. Tsahik of the Metkayina, I see you,” bowing as I pluck my fingers from my palm, Lyle and Ja did the same formally greeting her, Lili mirroring her father’s actions. Acknowledging the Tsahik, though I did not greet my former mother figure. The Tsahik greeted me back, before looking to my companions, her daze followed Lyle as her eyes fell to his false leg, then mine.
“So this is the infamous leader of the Omatikaya clan. I have heard stories about you. The first woman clan leader of the Omatikaya clan,” she stated, “Syulang, I see you.”
The darker blue woman stared wide-eyed. Three familiar faces popped up not too far away, their expressions were the same. All jaw slacked and wide-eyed.
“So, why is it that humans were called here?” I addressed Tonowari.
“Ah, straight to the point, I see,” Tonowari gestured for me to follow, I turned to face Max for him to follow along too.
“Lyle, the equipment?” Max called for him, as Lyle started to untie the ropes holding the equipment together. Ja let our daughter down from his arms and my little girl ran to my leg, holding my blue limb.
“Come my dear,” I picked her up into my arms as Max followed the tall teal blue Na’vi, passing by Neytiri without batting an eye. Ja helped Lyle with the equipment as I followed the leader and max to a large woven hut. There inside was already a group of humans that I’ve never seen before with leaders of other clans from other parts of Pandora. We greeted each other and Max introduced himself to the group of scientists and soldiers who turned their backs on the RDA. One was a former Colonel, who was located in the wetlands, another was a scientist from the cold ice plains. The others were notable members of scientists in different regions of water and desert plains.  And there in the far corner, was the former leader of the Omatikaya clan. His head whipped up so quickly as an expression of recognition morphed into  horror, recognising the human and Na’vi in front of him. My eyes turned cold when I saw him. Jake Sully. My pupils dilated into slits. My daughter noticed my cold expression and clung to my shoulders even more.
“Sa’nu,” she quietly said. I held my daughter closer to my body. Jake’s expression didn’t change as I sat down next to another leader. Soon Lyle and Ja entered the woven hut with the science equipment, setting it down on the side. When they looked up to see the other humans and clan leaders, they noticed Jake in the corner and old feelings returned. Their distaste for him returned as the memory of me telling them that they left the Omatikaya clan was burned into their memories. Lyle and Ja were by my side in an instant sitting next to me, their overprotective nature appeared as Lyle reached to take his goddaughter from my arms, as she snuggled into his arms. Tonowari watched in both curiosity and unknowing, unsure about the situation and the reactions of the two dark blue Na’vi staring daggers at the former Olo’eyktan.
“So why has this meeting been called?” One of the other leaders questioned. Tonowari cleared his throat before a human stood up.
“Hi, I’m Selsi Ku. I grew up here in Awa’atlu along with my older sister, about five years ago before the RDA finally left Pandora — after a major incident at one of the facilities. I was able to breach the firewall of the facility and hack into the database to get information. I found something….which needed confirmation from individuals such as yourselves….humans,” the woman explained, “unfortunately I needed access from someone much higher up in rank but was unsure about who currently resides Pandora with such rank, therefore, a signal was sent out to human outposts around Pandora. And why I needed medical equipment,” she gestured to the equipment we brought with us. “The Omatikaya clan was the closest with the most advanced medical equipment as well as expertise,” she gave a nod to Max.
“What is this regarding, exactly?” One of the scientists from the Ice plains asked.
“About humans being able to breathe Pandora air…. Without a mask,” there was a collective gasp.
“What? No, that’s impossible! Pandoran air is completely toxic to us humans…Is that even possible?”
“I believe so….But before I could find more information, I lost signal and connection. I went out to investigate the facility and found it completely destroyed, like a massive explosion destroyed it,” when Selsi said this, I whipped my head to look at Lyle and Ja who gave a sheepish look.
“That may have been us…” Lyle popped up.
“Was it on a coast, partially in a forest and partially on water….?” Ja asked. Selsi nodded with a confused look.
“Sorry about that…we didn’t know someone was hacking Bridgehead. We kind of…staged a coup,” Lyle chuckled nervously. Selsi’s expression changed to a new expression.
“Are you two avatars?” She questioned. Lyle and Ja looked at each other before raising their hands, showing their five fingers. My daughter looked at her father and godfather, mimicking their actions, raising her five finger hand.
“But…now we’re full Na’vis. Did our iknimaya and everything. We’re recognised as Na’vi now,” Ja confessed. I wasn’t looking at Jake until that moment, but I turned to face him and his expression was different, sad almost, disappointed. Tonowari nodded, like he was proudly approving. And with that Jake stood and left rather quickly. Lyle’s eyes followed the former Olo’eyktan, slightly peeved at Jake’s behaviour. I gently rested my hand on Lyle’s knee shooting a slight sympathetic look.
“Thankfully I was able to save most of the data on an external data port, most if not all the information was saved,” Doctor Ku held up her tablet screen showing the info and the scientists gathered. The clan leaders left the communal kelku as the scientists got straight to work.
Tonowari, guided the clan leaders to their temporary homes on a quiet part of the island. I walked with Ja as Lyle played with his goddaughter on the beach. Building what he called a “sand castle”, whatever that was. As my husband and I spent a few quiet moments together before four faces slid into view in the corner of my eye, I turned with a questioning look with an eyebrow raised. It was Neteyam, Lo’ak, Kiri and little Tuktirey, who was not so little any more. They didn't say anything as the four of them charged me tackling me to the sand clutching on as tightly as they could.
“Tsumuke! Sister!” they all yelled. They all looked at me with tears in their eyes, the emotional rollercoaster they must have felt for over five years must have broken them. I returned the hug, feeling nothing but a wave of suppressed emotions bubble to the surface. I let my tears out, happy to see them.
“Oh… My brothers. My sisters. I missed you so much….I'm so sorry….I'm so sorry….” I clutched onto them for dear life. Though my large belly was in the way. It must have been hard for them, being away for too long. “Oh, my little Tuk…all grown up…” I rubbed my thumb over her cheeks, before moving onto Kiri, Neteyam and Lo’ak.
“Mama…” My little daughter called out to me. The four kids turned to look at the little girl, their eyes wide in shock.
“That's my daughter, Lili,” I told the four of them.
“Daughter? I'm an Aunt?” Kiri asked, to which I smiled.
“I'm about to have another…” I rubbed my belly.
“But…Tsumuke, what are you doing here? And what's with the getup?” Neteyam questioned.
“Oh. I'm the Olo’eyktan of our clan…”
Their faces morphed into shock again before they bombarded me with questions, occasionally asking about the belly and my daughter. I chuckled at their antics.
“Mawey. Mawey….I’ll answer all your questions. Yes, she’s my daughter. Yes, I'm about to have another. No, Lyle is not the father, it’s Ja’s. Both of them are. Yes, I became Olo’eyktan. No, Ja is not the Tsahik…No, I didn't forget about any of you…and Quaritch is now teaching and general of the clan’s warriors…Is that all?”
“Can you forgive your old man?” Jake’s familiar figure walked onto the beach, he knelt down with his head down in shame. I looked up at Jake, his sudden appearance though not startling was a bit of a damper on the happy reunion. Ja who was next to me, put a reassuring hand on my shoulder, reminding me that he was there. I shuffled closer to Jake, kneeling in front of him.
“Yes,” Jake looked up at me with a sad expression, “You broke me, but yes. I forgive you. For what it's worth…I forgiven you a while ago…I came to terms with it when I became Olo’eyktan. I understand why you left, but it was stupid…Selfish even. The way we ended things wasn't what I hoped for…But you do have someone to apologise to.”
“Yes…anything to say sorry,” Jake said. I breathed out his name.
“Qu– Miles…Apologise to Miles…”
Jake was stunned, he knew that this would happen eventually but he was still shocked by the bluntness.
“Yes. I have to, don't I?”
I simply nodded my head.
“He followed through with his mission. He destroyed the RDA for the sake of the Na’vi…He betrayed his own people for the sake of our planet…Like you did all those years ago.”
“I understand.”
“But…For now,” I looked over to my daughter, gesturing for her to come over, “Meet your granddaughter,” Jake’s eyes flicked over to the approaching little girl, “This is Lili.”

Until It Doesn’t Hurt
Chapter 13: I Wanna Be With You
Summary:
20 years since the RDA was pushed off of the moon of Pandora, they are back once more. The RDA thinks their only problem is the traitor Jake Sully and his family, but as it turns out, Jake wasn’t the only ‘problem’ left behind 20 years ago.
Anthe was a child soldier, stolen from their home and forced to learn the ways of the humans, erasing any of their connections to the Na’vi from before. Finally free from the RDA’s hold after being trapped in cryosleep, they're about to make themselves everyone's problem.

_____________________________________________
The sky was a dull grey as Neteyam sat with his siblings and Metkayina friends on the beach, finally finished with their chores. Tsireya warned them from swimming out too far, the storm brewing on the horizon making the waters currents unpredictable. Tenak had left in the early hours of the morning, just as the first rays of light peaked from behind the evening's eclipse, promising to return with Anthe and Spider as soon as he found them. If he even could.
Neteyam did his best to stay upbeat, rough housing with Lo’ak and Ao’nung as if the previous day's events hadn’t shaken him. As if the photo of Anthe wasn’t burning a hole in his pouch pocket at his side. Kiri still watched him with poorly hidden concern, but for the most part, Neteyam was able to tamp down the lingering ache in his chest. It was getting well into the afternoon now, the fog previously lingering on the darkening horizon, now slowly crawling towards the village. A light mist was settling round the group, humid air sticking to Neteyam’s skin. It was only a matter of time before the rain started.
“{What’s that?}” Tuk asked, pointing out to the horizon. A dark shape was emerging from the fog in the distance. Neteyam stood, squinting as he tried to make out the shape quickly approaching the shoreline. As it got close he could see it was a purple Ikran, its rider crouched low in their saddle, obscured from view. It flew adjacent to them, the rider either not noticing, or avoiding the group below.
“{Who’s Ikran is that? Did Tenak come back already?}” Kiri looked between Neteyam and Lo’ak, as a sudden tension overcame the group, made worse by the heavy air.
“{No, his mount was yellow…}” Lo’ak murmured, coming to stand next to Neteyam as they watched the stranger land some yards down the beach.
“{More friends of yours, forest boy?}” Ao’nung joked, but the young man was visibly tense as he flanked Neteyam’s other side, hand poised on his knife defensively. Kiri and Tsireya pulled Tuk behind them, watching warily as the boys set a line of defense. This was exactly the sort of thing Neteyam’s father had been worried about when Tenak arrived, that their location would be compromised.
“{Who is it? I can’t see!}” Tuk whined, trying to peer around Kiri as the older girl held their sister back. Neteyam kept his eyes forward, hand on his blade as they watched the stranger dismount. A large back shape was strapped to their back, swinging as they hopped onto the sandy shore. The Ikran chirped, rustling anxiously as its rider seemed to sooth it, their back still to the group of young Na’vi. A twinge of something familiar tugged at Neteyam’s gut, but he ignored it, not wanting to risk being wrong.
“{Kiri, Tsireya, take Tuk home. Tell mom and dad what's happening.}” Neteyam ordered. His first priority needed to be protecting his family.
“{No! I want to stay!}” Tuk was arguing, though she still clung to Kiri’s legs for safety. “{Dad says we have to stick together!}”
“{Tuk-}”
“Holy shit.” Lo’ak’s sudden use of English cutting off whatever Neteyam was about to say, pulling his focus back to the stranger now approaching the group. “{Is that…?}”
A strange awestruck expression crossed Lo’ak’s face, his eyes glued to the figure in the distance. They were Na’vi as far as he could tell, dressed in a tight black top and bottoms not dissimilar to the Metkayina style, and hair tied back in one long and messy braid. Their stride was at first slow, cautious even, and then they were running, the weapon on their back discarded into the sand, tripping over their own feet in their effort. Ao’nung tensed beside Neteyam, the Metkayina man letting out a low warning growl, but Lo’ak rushed to block him.
“{Wait- Stop!}” Lo’ak was pushing Ao’nung back, but Neteyam was frozen, half convinced his grief-addled mind was just playing tricks on him.
“{Neteyam!}” A familiar voice, calling out to him.
Neteyam’s body was moving before he even fully registered what was happening, the world around him dropping away as he ran full sprint towards Anthe.
They crashed into each other with such force that it nearly knocked them both into the sand, Neteyam barely holding his balance as Anthe wrapped their arms around his neck, pressing their entire body into him as if he could disappear at any second. Neteyam clung right back pulling Anthe’s smaller frame as tightly to him as he could, burying his face in their neck, the scent of salty sea air and smoke clinging to their skin. He felt Anthe pull back, a pathetic sounding whine escaping his throat as they pulled his face from their shoulder, holding his cheeks as they looked at him. For a moment, Neteyam worried they would push him away again. But they didn’t, instead Anthe pressed their forehead to his, eyes screwed shut as they took deep grounding breaths, their fingers carding through his braids and holding his jaw.
“{You’re here.}” Neteyam breathed, his voice barely more than a whisper. His bright eyes taking in every inch of them that he could without pulling away. Anthe looked haggard, dark circles under their eyes and hair falling from their braid in windblown tangles. Their body trembled slightly in his arms, hands clinging to him for dear life and tail flicking anxiously behind them.
“{I’m sorry.}” Anthe’s voice cracked as they spoke, golden eyes welling with tears they struggled to blink away. Anthe’s thumbs caressed his cheeks, wiping away tears Neteyam hadn’t even realized had started to spill.
“{Wait, so… it is another friend?}” Ao’nung huffed, sounding vaguely annoyed as he rudely butted into the intimate moment.
“{Anthe is a little more than a friend.}” Lo’ak was grinning, the previous tension quickly fading. Neteyam scowled, shooting a half hearted glare over his shoulder at the pair. He felt Anthe shift, moving to see the rest of the group but making no move to leave the circle of his arms any time soon. Kiri and Tuk were quick to pile on with their own hugs and excited greetings.
“{Great Mother, are you okay?}” Kiri gasped, inspecting Anthe for injuries. “{You look terrible!}”
“{I’m okay. Just… tired.}” Anthe gave a half-hearted smile, the shake in their limbs starting to subside as they began to relax in Neteyam’s hold. They were clearly more than just tired, but clinging to the relief of being back with familiar faces and tentative safety. Neteyam nuzzled into their hair, ignoring his siblings giggling at him.
“{Hello.}” Tsireya smiled as she approached, dragging a reluctant Ao’nung with her. “{I am Tsireya, and this is my brother Ao’nung.}” Tsireya made the gesture for I See You, but Ao’nung crossed his arms, a sour expression on his face as he looked Anthe over. Neteyam glared at the Metkayina man, ears pinning back as he anticipated the mans penchant for nasty comments, but Tsireya beat him to it, elbowing her brother hard in the ribs, still smiling sweetly as ever. Ao’nung doubled over, yelping in pain and swatting his sister away before huffing a stiff ‘hello’ himself.
“{Hi.}” They watched the Reef siblings with interest, returning Tsireya’s gesture. Their tail still flicked anxiously behind them, giving away their nervous state. Neteyam let his own tail catch Anthe’s, twinning them together and stilling their movement.
“{Did Tenak send you? Where is Spider?}” Kiri asked, squeezing Anthe’s hand hopefully. Neteyam felt Anthe tense immediately, watching their face fall from relief to confusion.
“{What?}”
“{Your brother, Tenak. He was here, he said he was going to bring you and Spider back.}” Neteyam could see the realization cross both Kiri and Anthe’s faces at the same time. Tenak had not found Anthe. Spider was still gone.
“{Y-You saw Tenak?}” There was something raw and painful in Anthe’s voice, an old wound opening back up again. Neteyam squeezed them tighter to his chest as he felt them begin to tremble again.
“{He was here this morning!}” Tuk pipped, the tone of the current conversation going over her head entirely. Anthe looked dazed, their eyes darting back and forth between Kiri and Neteyam for answers.
“{He came out here looking for you. He’s been searching for you this whole time.}” Neteyam said, running his hands along Anthe’s back and hair to soothe them.
“{He’s alive?}” They looked almost bewildered, like the idea was to foreign to understand. Neteyam pulled their head to his chest, letting Anthe anchor themselves to him as they gripped onto his arm.
“{Him, your sister Kala too.}” Anthe seemed stunned, their grip on his arm tightening. Neteyam fished around in his pouch pocket, pulling out the photo Tenak had given him the night before. Gingerly, Anthe took it, a choked sob escaping them as they realized what it was.
“{You said he was here this morning?}” Anthe finally asked, once they had gathered themselves again. Kiri nodded. Neteyam watched Anthe process, quickly shaking their head as if to dispel unwanted thoughts.
“{Come on. Let’s take you home.}” Neteyam could tell it was too much happening all at once for Anthe. In one swift movement, he lifted Anthe into his arms, intent on holding onto them for as long as possible. They made no protests, save a small surprised yelp, but quickly settled, curling into his neck and shoulders as he walked them back down the beach towards the village.

“{The Ta’unui’s Tsakarem sent me here. She said this is where I might find help, I didn’t think she meant you all were actually here.}” Anthe explained. They were exhausted, the emotional whiplash of the day exacerbating the tired ache of their body. Neteyam held close to them, letting Anthe lean into his side as they sat with the Sully family in their new home. Jake Sully listened intently to their story, his expression growing dark as they went on. Anthe fidgetted under the patriarch's gaze, fiddling with a bracelet Spider had made for them out of small river stones and twine.
“{You’re sure no one followed you? No trackers?}” Jake questioned them.
“{I’m sure.}” Anthe had been so paranoid about being followed, they’d done multiple checks of all of their gear and even tossed their Ikran’s saddle and tack into the ocean just to be sure.
“{Do you know how they even figured out we were out here?}”
“{There was a helicopter signal that got picked up on radar. I didn’t hear too many details, but Quaritch was sure it would be you.}” Anthe watched Jake pull a frustrated hand down his face, swearing under his breath. He looked back at his wife, pacing back and forth, her tail thrashing wildly behind her in agitation.
“{Stay here.}” Jake ordered the group, pulling himself and his partner outside and out of earshot. Anthe swallowed, feeling guilty for having brought only bad news with them. Everything in them was screaming that they shouldn’t have come, that everything was their fault, but then they felt Neteyam nuzzling into their side, whispering comfort in their ear, and were reminded how that sort of thinking was exactly what got them into this mess in the first place. Anthe sighed, pulling Neteyam’s arms more closely around them. Neteyam let them, practically hauling them into his lap to bring Anthe closer to him.
“{What about Spider?}” Kiri pressed, brows knit in concern.
“{He’s okay. I would have brought him with me, but there's still a tracker in his breathing mask. He didn’t want to take the risk.}” Anthe took her hand, squeezing it lightly.
“{Do you think they’ll hurt him?}” Lo’ak said it quietly, more to himself than anyone else, eyes avoiding anyone else’s gaze. He sat further away, knees tucked to his chest. It wasn’t hard to guess what he might be feeling, his brows knit in the same sort of guilty expression Anthe usually wore. Spider had told Anthe about how Lo’ak was usually the one who got into or started trouble for the Sully siblings, Anthe had even seen it for themselves. It wasn’t surprising that the younger man might feel responsible for Spider being taken in the first place.
“{Quaritch will be pissed but he’s…}” Anthe tried to answer, struggling to find the right words to describe the estranged father and son’s relationship. “{... attached to Spider, I don’t think he would hurt him. Spider might lose a little bit of the freedom he had, but if anything, this has just put me on that psychopaths shit list.}”
“{Spider had freedom? With the RDA?}” Lo’ak scoffed.
“{You’d be surprised.}” Anthe couldn’t help but smile a bit at that. “{After a while, Quaritch let Spider, do pretty much whatever he wanted. The only thing holding us back were the trackers. We would have gotten out ages ago, otherwise.}” There was an unintentionally bitter edge to Anthe’s voice.
“{You’re here now, that’s what matters.}” Neteyam said, softly brushing the hair from their face.
“{Neteyam’s right. Spider will come back to us.}” Kiri huffed, sounding more like she was trying to convince herself than anyone else.“{For now, let’s try to clean you up.}”
“{I’m fine-}”
“{You’re a mess. Neteyam, do you still have the clothes I made them?}” Neteyam nodded. He reached back towards his bag, dragging Anthe with him as they refused to let him go, and pulling out a bundle of cloth.
“{You made me clothes?}” All Anthe had ever worn were RDA issue uniforms, or the clothes leant to them by Avatar scientists. Neteyam and his siblings had tried convincing them to wear more Na’vi garb, but Anthe had always felt too guilty and self conscious for the more revealing attire.
“{It’s probably not ideal for the water, but it’s better than what you have on now.}” Kiri joked, tugging at the black nylon material of Anthe’s clothing. “{More comfortable too. Neteyam, go help them clean up and change.}” The younger woman pushed the pair towards another more private room of the marui, a sly smile not so subtly gracing her features.
Neteyam was smiling and rolling his eyes playfully as he pulled Anthe with him, closing a privacy curtain behind them. His hands only left them for a second, quickly returning to hold Anthe back in the circle of his arms, pulling Anthe’s back to his chest and resting his chin on their shoulder. From the moment they’d returned, Neteyam was holding or touching them in some way, even in front of the rest of his family. Before, such a level of affection had only been brief and in private, but Anthe found they didn’t mind the change, enjoying the feeling of closeness with another person.
Anthe took the bundle gently from Neteyam, unwrapping it carefully to reveal the soft green and blue woven garments, and something else. A shining black blade, with a hand-woven and beaded handle and sheath lay tucked between the garments. Anthe felt Neteyam squeeze them lightly as they raised the blade, examining it closely.
“{I wanted to give it to you before but it wasn’t done when you left…}” Neteyam mumbled into Anthe’s hair.
“{This is for me?}” Anthe blinked up at him, unbelieving at first that something like this could be for them. Neteyam nodded, his cheeks tinged purple as he nuzzled them with his nose. The blades Na’vi carried with them were their lifeline, a means for survival and connection. Anthe just barely remembered having one as a child, before everything, that they had made with help from family that they could no longer recall. Now, Neteyam had made one for them, carved and assembled with such care and love that Anthe felt like they were short circuiting, suddenly too warm and soft to hold themselves together.
“{Do you like it?}” Neteyam spoke softly, watching Anthe admire his handy work. Anthe nodded, pressing the gift close to their chest as they turned in his arms, pressing their face into the crook of his neck. Neteyam gave off a warmth that Anthe had desperately missed. It was different from anything they had felt with another person, the soft and comforting promise of safety and understanding. The only other connections they could compare it to was Tenak and Spider, and even those were still completely different. Tenak and Spider were their brother’s in arms, friendships born from the comfort of another person in the face of danger. But their closeness with Neteyam was not born out of mutual struggle and pain. It had come from a place of healing and understanding, built on a trust Anthe had never really encountered before.
“{Come on, let’s get you changed.}”
Anthe reluctantly separated from Neteyam, though his hands still held them, bringing them to a mat on the floor. He set about collecting a few clean cloths and freshwater, as Anthe began to undress. Previously, Anthe might have felt more self-conscious about their nakedness in front of another person, being raised by humans instilling a shame in their body that was hard to shake. A part of them still felt bashful, instinctively covering themselves with their arms as Neteyam gently began to wash away the dirt and sweat from their body, but they didn’t feel uncomfortable by any means. They let Neteyam take down their hair and help dress them in the clothes made by Kiri, a comfortable silence encompassing them. When they were finished, Anthe leaned back into Neteyam, who sat closely behind them. Neteyam ran his fingers through their dark hair, carefully pulling apart the tangles.
“{I’m sorry.}” Anthe said finally, breaking the quiet. They felt Neteyams hands pause, then wrap around their middle and pull them close, his nose pressing lightly into their jaw.
“{You were right.}” Anthe continued. “{I should have stayed, I should have listened to you.}”
“{Stop, please.}” Neteyam sounded hoarse, squeezing Anthe tighter to him. “{You’re here, you’re safe. That's what matters.}” Anthe turned themselves to look at him, hand cupping his jaw to make him look at them. Neteyams brows were furrowed with worry, his hold around them tight and desperate. He thought they were going to leave again.
“{I want to stay here. I want to stay with you.}” Anthe pressed their forehead back to his, trying to will away his anxieties. “{I See You.}”  Neteyam took a deep breath, seeming to relax a bit with Anthe’s admission.
“{I See You.}” Neteyam repeated, a small smile replacing the worry. His eyes lingered a moment on their lips before flicking back up to their eyes. The movement was small, but caught Anthe’s attention enough for Anthe to register just how close their lips were to Neteyam’s. Their cheeks flushed, suddenly shy as their own eyes landed on the curve of Neteyams mouth. One of his hands ran softly up their back, holding the back of Anthe’s head, gently pulling them closer and closing the gap between them.
Neteyam’s lips were soft, molding to Anthe’s mouth like two puzzle pieces fitted perfectly together. They pressed into him, chasing his lips in a desperate kiss they were loath to break. When they did finally break the kiss, both were panting, trying to catch their breath again. Neteyam grinned, pressing back in, peppering small kisses around Anthe’s face and making them laugh. It was pure relief. All the unsaid feelings and emotions, finally out in the open, and neither of them could get enough.

Masterlist /// Previous /// Next
Over the next few days the young human boy, Spider visited you every day. The two of you talked about anything and everything, it was very comforting to have someone around that spoke your language.
You were curious about him, so you asked lots of intricate questions. Why was he here? What’s his connection to the forest Na’vi? How did he speak your language so well, he even had a forest accent.
He answered most of them with enthusiasm. Telling you the story of him spending a lot of time with the sully kids and growing up in the Omatikaya clan, being there for all the events and learning their ways.
Spider explained that his father had been killed by Jake Sully's mate, Neytiri, in the first sky people war, but scientists had made an avatar for him a few years ago and inserted a chip that had a copy of his father's mind on it. You truly struggled to grasp the concept so he tried to explain it like he was reborn into the new avatar body after his death, when he died, but he was already twenty years old; you understood better but it still confused you at times.
Spider also tried asking you simple questions first and when you answered all of them he started coming out of his shell; starting to ask bolder questions. He asked about your family and your life as tsakìk of the Metkayina. How was your life different from the forest people’s? What were the animals like? What did you eat?
You happily started telling him stories of the metkayina traditions and the Iknimaya, where you had to bond with a tsurak and complete several trials with your spirit sibling to earn your place amongst the people. Even telling him that you struggled immensely when you had to bond with the wild beast and that you preferred the tasks with your spirit sister a lot more.
You told him many stories about you and your sister, Ronal, when you were training to become tsahìk; how much trouble you’d get yourself in with her, doing whatever teenagers did. Your favorite ones though were the ones where she’d cover for you when you snuck away with the handsome, brave, and charming young man you’d had a crush on; once you’d gotten caught with him past your curfew and your father threatened him for at least half an hour and scared him half to death. You giggled as you remembered. You continued that that boy was now your mate and father of your children.
He in return asked about your children, being curious about them. Starting with your eldest, your son A'onung, you described him as a brave troublemaker; he always hung out with his friends and was very caring toward his sister, even if he didn’t like showing it. A'onung loved his spirit brother as well and they’d spend a lot of time together once the tulkun returned.
Spider continued asking about your daughter; Tsireya. You started by telling him that she was a truly good-hearted and beautiful young lady who loved dancing and performing. She’s always be a performer when the tribe held celebrations or spiritual rituals. From time to time, you would teach her how to prepare medical remedies or how to lead sacred rituals. She was growing up so quickly and from what you’d seen, she had her eye on the youngest sully boy; Lo'ak.
Once you said that spider instantly asked how the sully's were doing. It didn’t surprise you, after all, they were kind of his family. You thought about it for a few seconds and then decided to tell him about how Lo'ak and A'onung went outside the reef. You’d never been so angry at A'onung in your life! Leading the poor boy out and stranding him there; who knows what could have happened? But after that little stunt, the boys seemed to get along better- even going as far as to say that they had become friends.
Next was the story about how Jake learned to ride a tsurak. It took a while because he didn’t want to start with an ilu; it would have hurt his pride too much. You both giggled. Jake had tried to tie his hand to the saddle grip but even that failed and he was left with some nasty leather burns. Spider confirmed that to Jake, like all men, his pride was one of the most important things.
Neytiri was a skilled warrior; so she decided to join the hunters. At first, she was just tasked with catching fish, but she wanted to hunt something bigger. So she forcefully made her place known amongst the others when she came back with a quite large deep-sea creature.
Spider and you talked for hours upon hours almost every day until you sent him off to bed. Then you were let alone in the dark room, having no items of comfort to keep you company. You thought about asking Spider for a few things, but you didn’t want to get him in trouble so you kept your lips sealed.
In the dark, the only thing that plagued your mind was your old life. The life you had just a little while ago. Oh how you wished you could return; not even getting the chance to tell your mate that you were with child again. What would happen if you didn’t return? How would you return? Your heart clenched and you placed your hand on your lower abdomen gently, hoping to comfort yourself and your baby as you tried to sleep.

After you had sent Spider away, he decided to go talk to his father again. He’d seen how miserable you were in that tiny cell; you’d always curl up in a corner, trying to keep warm in the night. His mind was troubled with thoughts and just as he turned the corner to his father’s quarters, he bumped into someone. He looked up, wanting to apologize, and saw the familiar figure.
“Whatcha' doin' here kid?” Quaritch questioned while placing his hands on his hips, cocking his head to the side, and giving his son a questioning look.
“Uh- well… I wanted to talk to you,” he answered, “about the different room…”
Spider awkwardly moved his arms from side to side, looking away, not knowing what to do.
“Heh- I was just about to tell you the news,” he chuckled “I talked to some people and uuuh- told them to move her closer so that I can ‘keep an eye on her’” his fingers did little air quotes as he said it with a light mocking tone in his voice.
Spider's eyes lit up just a bit and he gave his father a genuine smile “Thanks Dad”
“No problem, kiddo” Quaritch sighed, a good feeling bubbling inside him at the thought of making his son happy; truly a strange feeling. He watched as Spider shuffled away, looking over his shoulder back at him, once or twice, cracking a smile as he turned the corner.
Spider had a little spring in his step; he couldn’t wait to tell you tomorrow! He continued thinking about what else he could do to bring you comfort. Maybe he’d ask what your favorite food was and get it when he joined his father on a mission again or he could ask if you’d like to do something like weaving or seeing, he could easily find the materials for that.
He finally wanted to see you smile; he wanted to see you happy for a change.
· · ─────── ·𖥸· ─────── · ·
The morning came and you were blinded by the bright light flickering on in the cell; same as ever. You tried to shield your eyes by covering them with your arm, trying to get a little more rest. Just then a wave of despair washed over you. You wanted to go home; you wanted to return to your family; to your children.
Tears welled up in your eyes, spilling over the edge and rolling down your cheeks. You tried rubbing them away but that only man’s it worse; all your locked-up feelings spilled over. Sitting up you curled up against the wall, not knowing what to do. Would they ever let you go? Would you have to stay in this horrible room forever? These thoughts made your heart crack and crumble. You tried so hard to stay strong; for yourself and the little life growing within your body, but it was all for nothing. Nothing had changed and you don’t even know for how long you’d been kept here. Too long. Something needed to change.
Suddenly your anguish turned to anger; it was like a feral beast woke inside you. Pushing yourself up to your feet you, took a few steps around the room, observing it once more like the thousands of times you’d done before, your tails swishing dangerously behind you. The room had one wall that looked different, similar to the water, you could see your reflection. It was so clear and you’d never seen something like it before. There had to be a reason why it was there. Could something be behind it? You couldn’t know for sure but as you walked closer and closer, you’d started bearing your fangs and claws. Just like that, you charged against the wall, banging your fists on it.
Little sounds came from behind the wall. Hah- so there was something there and you’d given it quite a scare. You continued, trying to get more reactions from the thing that hid behind the wall. This went on for quite a while until you heard the mechanical door open. Thinking it was the human boy, you lowered your guard. Big mistake. Six human soldiers came in and you started hissing again, taking a defensive stance. They walked over with hurried steps, taking your personal space. As one tried to touch you you pushed him away, sending him flying across the room. The others made quick pace and tried binding your wrists. You were busy shoving off two humans as a third grabbed your arm and fastened the orange cuff. Knowing what would come next you tried to get them all off you, never holding your hands close in fear of them being bound again.
It was no use, soon someone grabbed your second arm and pulled it behind your back, forcing the second cuff around your wrist, locking them together. You yelled and screamed as you tried to escape their clutches only to feel a sharp sting on the side of your neck. Suddenly you felt ever so drowsy, your eyes closing as if you had no control over them. Sinking to the floor, calming down you saw that the humans circled around you, talking. Then your eyelids fell shut and you lost consciousness.
· · ─────── ·𖥸· ─────── · ·
As soon as you had lost consciousness the soldiers calmed down. “So uh- what are we supposed to do with her now?” one asked. “They told us to just knock her out before something happens- wait a sec il call someone.” another answered. While he talked the others observed you. You looked different from the recoms; you were a lighter color and had a different body. They all looked at you weirdly, one even nudging you with their foot until they heard their colleague hang up the phone.
“I asked around and the lab rats said that they wanna have her, so I guess we’ll bring her there,” he claimed while shrugging his shoulders. “You two, go get a cart to load her up. I ain’t carrying that thing.”
Just as told, two left and came back a few minutes later with some sort of transportation device. They parked it next to you and awkwardly tried to lift you onto it. Finally, they managed by holding you under your arms and dragging you over the rough surface, scratching your back as they did so. When you were finally on the cart the first man turned around and motioned for the others to follow him. It wasn’t long until the group reached the large metal door that closed off the science lab from the outside.
One of the soldiers went up to the touchpad, silently punching in the code to make the door open. The cart wasn’t pushed in first, being followed by the other men. They’d not been here often and this place always put them on edge, for they didn’t know what would happen. Your turquoise skin glistened under the fluorescent lights of the lab, pulling all the attention towards you.
Just then a tall scientist in a pristine long white lab coat came into view.
The head scientist rubbed his hands together with glee as he looked at the unconscious Na'vi. "This is it," he said, his voice filled with excitement. "This is what we've been waiting for.” he looked around the little crowd of soldiers “Thanks for bringing her here, dismissed.”
They all gave him a little salute, turning to walk out again, but the last one of the group gave the scientists a dirty look. They shouldn’t be taking orders from a nerdy lab rat, he scoffed silently.
The man was still standing over you, inspecting your physical form. You’d been the first Na’vi of a different species to enter his workspace and he was definitely looking forward to running some tests, so he told his team to help him put you on one of the large examination tables. It took quite a few people but once up there they began checking your vitals.
As the head scientist listened for your heartbeat, he heard his name being called out.
“Dr. Matthew! A call just came in and General Ardmore is on her way to the lab to discuss something.” The younger scientist shouted as she ran over to the table. Dr. Matthew rose to his full height, placing the stethoscope to the side, and smoothing out his lab coat. “Did the general say what she wanted to discuss?” He asked with a bitter tone in his voice. He didn’t like when people messed with his work or gave him instructions on how and what to research. He didn’t become a top scientist only to be given orders by someone who doesn’t even understand his work.
“N-no… she didn’t specify…” the young woman said. Matthew noticed that she wasn’t on his usual team and she had a short lab coat, which meant that she was still studying. Could she be an intern? He thought to himself. So he skied “I haven’t seen you here a lot, are you an intern?”
“Oh- y-yea I just transferred from communications… seems they put me in the wrong unit when I came here.” She stuttered, avoiding eye contact with the experienced lab leader.
He hummed in response, walking past her to greet the general at the door. Just as he unlocked it he could see the frightening woman turn the corner. Putting his hands on his hips and slapping a smile on his face, he called out to her.
“General Ardmore! How nice of you to visit my lab. Can I help you with anything?” He asked with a smirk glued to his face, a slightly annoyed tone in his voice.
“I just got the news that the new specimen was delivered to you. What’s that about, I thought I told them to keep her in her cell,” she replied sternly.
The doctor sighed “Look, she went feral for a sec there and they asked me if I wanted her. Of course, I said yes! Do you know what we could do with her? We can sample her DNA and grow new avatars that are adaptable to water? And- there’s such a difference in species. You should see her- she, she looks completely different! Different body structure and everything!” he started rambling, clearly excited about the new discoveries he was going to make.
“Listen, I don’t care about all your sciency stuff alright? I need to make sure that we meet our clients' demands and that you don’t spend all your time and resources on your silly little avatar program. That feral beast belongs dead- six feet under! What are you going to do when she wakes up and goes wild again huh?” She prodded. To be honest, Dr. Matthew hadn’t thought about that, so he quickly tried to come up with something.
“Uhhh- uh well give her sedatives! Make sure she stays calm. But then again…” he started thinking.
“But then she won't be able to cooperate.” She finished for him.
“Yea… that…” he raised his hand to his chin and thought for a bit “Don’t worry, I’ll figure it out”
The general sighed and looked around the lab, seeming just the tiniest bit of you, laying on the table, motionless.
“You better, and don’t spend all your time on that thing. You hear me, doctor?”
“Yes ma’am. Will do.”
“Good. I'll leave you to it. I'll check in now and then to keep an eye on you understand?”
“All clear.” He followed up with a little two-finger salute as she turned on her heels and walked off, not looking back even once. Matthew let out a breath that he didn’t know he was holding, relieved that he managed to get her off his back. Even this was one of the more gentle encounters he had with her. Tough woman.
He walked past the open lab doors once more, closer to you. Someone handed him a checkboard that had all your vitals on it. What an efficient team he had. He looked over it with care, checking for anything abnormal but everything seemed fine. His eyes slowly shifted from the paper to your unconscious form. You were so mysterious and he had never wanted to examine something this much before. He had grown up, learning about the Pandora project and the Avatar program. He read all the books and studied hard just to be here, and now he was the first to see a new species of the indigenous people of the foreign planet. He was just itching to start running tests.
But he didn’t know where to start. What should he do first? He ran a hand through his hair, hoping t come up with a plan. In the end, he decided it was best to start fresh tomorrow. He made sure that the sedative was dosed correctly so that you wouldn’t wake up for at least another day. Then he told his team to hit the hay and get some rest. After all, tomorrow he needed them to be sharp as a knife, as they would start their examinations.
He himself was the last to leave, taking one last look and finally locking up the lab. He couldn’t wait for tomorrow, but first, he had all night to organize his plans for you. Oh, how exciting!
