#I want Ingo to call her Lady Sneasler

Probably one of the most interesting things I've seen in the submas fandom is the rise of "Lady Sneasler" as a title for the specific Sneasler Ingo is the warden of.
Tumblr media
Now what's not very obvious in the Legend of Arceus games is that Noble Pokemon and Ride Pokemon are both descended from the original 10 hero Pokemon blessed by Arceus, but they are consitered two distinct categories. It actually surprised me too looking back on it but Pokemon like Sneasler and Braviary (ride Pokemon) are not given the title of Lord or Lady as opposed to Pokemon like Electrode or Kleaveor.
While they all seem to have wardens caring for them, there seems to be a heightened cultural importance on the Pokemon that don't nessisarily do anything else but be nobles? It's actually kind of interesting part of the culture of the Diamond and Pearl clans I don't see talked about a lot.
Now I pretty consistently see Sneasler referred to as "Lady Sneasler" in Submas fanworks when Ingo only ever refers to her as "Sneasler" in canon. It even got to the point I assumed she was called that until I actually checked the script.
Now, what I want to ask the Submas people (as a LOA fan) is what had you start to call her Lady Sneasler?

cw: PLA Ingo, short drabble,
pairing: Ingo/Reader
▲▽▲▽▲
When the Warden asked you out for a day away from both of your duties, you expected something cute and simple. Maybe lazing around his cabin or your home in Jubilife, cooking together, and discussing what life was like for him before ending up in Hisui. Instead, you stared at the large cliff in front of you in the highlands.
“You…. You're really serious about climbing, huh?” you could only watch as Ingo easily found a way to climb the cliff face. His face was intense and focused as he gripped the grooves and carried himself higher and higher. When he reached the cliff, he stopped and turned to look down at you. It was a bit astonishing. You had been calling him an old man, but he just proved himself more spry than you.
“I thought it might be a good idea to show you around the area more thoroughly,” Ingo called out, voice loud as ever. You sighed and tried to find your way up, just as he had. His metallic eyes felt locked on to you as you carefully found your way up. Yet, just as you found yourself at the top, you lost your grip and fell back. Before you could scream and crash into the ground below you, Ingo grasped your hand tightly.
The Warden helped you up. You fell on to the ground with a sigh. “Ingo… I know you have been into mountain climbing as of late, but this is exactly why you let me use lady Sneasler,” you tell him and shake your head. He let out a chuckle and sat down beside you.
“I want to show you an area that's hard to get to with her, dearest,” his voice was gentle and encouraging, “I ask that you please give it another try before we actually stop.” You felt tortured by the gentle begging in his eyes.
“Fine, but if I nearly fall again, we're going to your cabin for a nap or something.”
He laughed and agreed.
~
The following adventure was a bit harder, as sometimes the cliffs became difficult to climb, even for Ingo. He led you carefully and dutifully, however. The Warden made sure that you got up each cliff. You soon found yourself crashing the grass as you stared at a small spring where bloomed Cherrim danced around it playfully and Beautiflies flapped around the open air above the sparkling water. It was a beautiful sight to behold.
You sighed and leaned your head on his shoulder after he sat down beside you. “I don't think I've seen this place on my map at all,” you chuckle as you gaze at the scene playing out before you. It was quite more difficult to get here than the usual areas you explored, however.
“Ah… It's a bit out of the way, so I doubt most mapmakers really cared to note it,” he explained, “I only found it by chance while I was wandering through the area. I believe Melli knows about it, too, but he doesn't seem to care for it.” You nodded. The sun was beginning to sun into the horizon, leaving an orange glow to bathe over the world. You closed your eyes.
“I'm sleeping at your place tonight,” you tell him, “You're also cooking.” He hummed in reply.
“Should I wear an apron?” The Warden joked.
You looked at him deadpan, “You have to, now.”
In the end, you both enjoyed yourself despite the strain of getting to the location.

What’s In a Name
Akari is helping Ingo take care of Lady Sneasler’s kits while he gets over a cold, and decides all of the little sneasels need names.
After so long, I wrote a continuation to It’s Just a Cold !You don’t need to read that first to understand this fic, but it can help a lot with understanding some of the context. I wrote this after I wanted to flesh out the rest of Lady Sneasler’s kits with names of their own (which my audience helped name! Thank you everyone!), and just write something fluffy, no angst haha.
OR read it here on AO3!
Enjoy!
————
“When do you think they’ll be able to leave the nest?”
“I cannot say, but I believe they will be ready for that within a few weeks to a month, if they keep on the correct track of development.”
Akari trekked up the mountainside with Ingo, the early-morning sun cold and unable to penetrate the thin veil of mist. Akari made her way ahead of the warden, having traveled up to Lady Sneasler’s den so many times now, that he no longer had to guide her up every step of the way. Though, Ingo’s lethargic pace also contributed to him taking up the back; he was still getting over a cold, and trekking up a mountainside in a thinning atmosphere wasn’t the easiest thing for him at the moment. He coughed to dislodge a tickle in his diaphragm, and readjusted the thick scarf around his neck; Calaba had given it to him to keep the frigid air from irritating his lungs too much.
Ever since Lady Sneasler’s eggs had hatched, and she presented nine new adorable babies to the world, Ingo had been doing his best to help care for them. As a solitary species where it was uncommon for mates to stay together, Lady Sneasler needed someone to care for the kits and protect them while she was out hunting - a job that had naturally fallen onto her warden, Ingo.
But seeing as how Ingo was still recovering from the nasty cold that Akari was helping him through, the teenager had insisted she come up with him to the den, so she could assist him with managing the nine growing kits. He was doing much better now compared to a week ago, but he was still sluggish, and his voice remained a bit thick with the lingering (but waning) cough that sat in his chest. He never would have explicitly asked for help, so Akari had offered her assistance instead, knowing he probably needed it. The need was smaller a week later, but she enjoyed spending time with Ingo…and she’d be lying if she said the best part of her recent days weren’t seeing the adorable little sneaslets.
With the potato-sized kits now being over a week old, they could now open their eyes on their own and crawl around on their bellies. They were still sleeping a lot, but were beginning to grow more active, having started gently playing with each other in small, short bursts of energy. Their baby teeth were quickly coming in as well, and they were starting to nibble on solid foods, which meant Lady Sneasler could be out for longer periods hunting, and Ingo and Akari could tend to their feeding times while they watched over them. Yesterday was the first time they tried berries; it had been…messy, but they digested them well, and seemed to like the fruits for the most part. Today would simply be a repeat.
“Well, when they get big enough, I want to be there with them when they come outside for the first time!” Akari called back to Ingo as she took a right turn off the mountain path into a patch of thin underbrush; they were almost to the den.
“I’m sure they’d be glad to have you there.” Ingo added as he followed after her; having come up with him to the den every day since the late hatcher had emerged from her egg, the kits had grown just as fond of her presence as they had of his own. They were very attached to Akari.
Akari pulled herself out of the foliage and onto a rocky ledge, before moving back so Ingo could make his way up. He pulled himself up a bit slower than he usually did, the residual lethargy still sitting heavy in his aching muscles, but with some effort, he finally joined her on the cliffside.
“Hey, I didn’t have to help you up this time!” Akari turned to the cavern mouth behind them, but kept her gaze on Ingo with a big smile on her face. “See, you’re getting better every day!”
“You are correct, though I do wish the tracks to recovery were a little faster.” Ingo coughed around some of the gunk in his chest as he readjusted his cap, heading into the cavern with Akari. A few more days, and he’d say he’d finally be able to shake this itch in his lungs, and recover completely. Though, his recovery had been remarkably slow compared to Akari’s; she had indeed gotten sick due to contact with him (as he worried she would), but after just a few days, she was already running around again with just as much energy as ever, acting like she hadn’t even been sick in the first place.
He was aware of how stressors strained one’s immune system, and slowed its tracks considerably. Perhaps…
“My Lady? We’ve returned, albeit a little behind schedule; I hope that is not too inconvenient!” Ingo called out to his noble in the darkness. The cavern narrowed some as they moved further in, but this was meant to deter bigger predators from entering, and discovering the spacious den that opened up in the back.
Lady Sneasler’s chirp of greeting was heard from ahead, as well as a few muffled, but excited squeaks, piping up at realizing someone was arriving. That alone was enough for Akari; with her own sound of excitement, she left Ingo to hurry ahead and meet the kits.
“Careful,” Ingo warned her, wary of the uneven cavern floor in the dim cavity; being taller than her, he had to duck slightly under sections where the ceiling bowed, and suck in his chest to compact himself and shuffle sideways where the walls narrowed, whereas Akari could hurry right through. An inconvenience, but again a protective one.
Finally the walls opened up, and Ingo made it into the warm, safe cavity of Lady Sneasler’s nest. Akari was already kneeling in the many layers of nesting materials that covered and softened the hard earthen floor. She was busy petting the tiny bundles of fur that had crawled to her, mewling happily. Lady Sneasler was beside them, but standing upright as if waiting for something.
She was waiting to leave the den and go hunting, of course.
“Good Morning, Lady Sneasler,” Ingo greeted her with a nod of his head, squinting slightly to make her out in the darkness - his eyes would adjust soon enough, though. “I once again apologize for our late arrival. You may now leave to do your hunting; we will take good care of your young until you return.”
Lady Sneasler chuffed quietly. Ingo felt the sharp blades of her paw delicately pat him on the head - she could tell he still wasn’t feeling 100% but was doing his best - before they clicked subtly against the wall as she moved for the exit; the cavern darkened even more as she momentarily blocked the light in the narrow opening, but in an instant, she was gone.
“Well, we should get to feeding them,” Ingo immediately reached into his pockets, feeling for the berries that he had packed away for the kits. “We are behind schedule, so I imagine they are hungry.”
Akari didn’t hear him over her own laughter, now lying on her back in the nesting material as the nine tiny sneaslets assaulted her face with licks and kisses from tiny tongues.
————
“Ow! This one keeps biting my fingers.”
“Ah, have you fed that one yet?” Ingo looked up from the two tiny sneaslets nestled in his arms, snuggled closely against him as they chewed on soft bits of pecha berries. “They’re probably just hungry.”
“Yes! I already gave him an entire oran berry!” Akari pulled her hand away to inspect the fingers and see if the plump kit in her lap had broken the skin. Luckily they hadn’t, though it did leave a red mark in the skin. “I think he just likes biting. It’s all he’s done since his baby teeth came in!”
“Perhaps he is teething, and trying to relieve some of the pressure in his gums.” Ingo hypothesized. Their tiny, needle-like baby teeth were not their permanent set, but they might still be in the process of coming in, and that could be uncomfortable.
“Maybe,” Akari muttered in an entirely unconvinced tone as she readjusted the sneaslet in her lap to keep it from biting her again.
Reaching into the nesting material scattered around them, she searched for another sneaslet to pick up and feed next. She couldn’t help but smile when she found she had uncovered the runt of the litter, the late hatcher that Ingo had personally taken care of as an egg when he was sick. She was a little partial to this one, as she had been there with Ingo when she had hatched (And she was quite timid compared to her siblings; Akari always had a soft spot for the shy ones).
Gently grasping the tiny sneaslet in her hands, Akari placed them in her lap, next to her bitey sibling. The runt mewled quietly, her warm body leaning into Akari’s gentle hands as her sibling tried to nip her feathered ear; thankfully, Akari moved her hand to protect her from the sharp teeth.
“I’ve been thinking lately,” Akari started as she reached for the pile of gathered fruit between herself and Ingo, grabbing onto a sitrus berry. “I think this one should be named Powder.”
“Hmm?” Ingo reached for a third kit from the pile to start feeding them as well, with the previous two sated in his lap. He knew his head was still a little foggy from his cold, did he hear her say something about names-?
“Powder,” Akari reiterated to clear up any potential confusion. “Like powder snow! You know, because it was snowing outside the night she hatched, and she’s really soft and white!”
“Ah, no, apologies Miss Akari,” Ingo shook his head lethargically. “I understand it, but, names…I am unsure if the kits of a noble are really fit for names-“
This was the first litter of Lady Sneasler’s that Ingo had found himself caring for. He didn’t know the proper customs of it all yet, concerning such matters; were you allowed to give names to a noble’s young? Lady Sneasler herself certainly didn’t have a nickname, and neither did the other Lords and Ladies…(did Lady Sneasler already have her own version of names for her kits, though?) Ingo had never thought to ask the other wardens, or Lady Irida. Though, the thought of naming them didn’t immediately occur to him; he didn’t give nicknames to his own team of Pokémon. He understood Akari’s incentive, though - on the contrary, she loved nicknaming her own Pokémon, and would often share what she came up with when showing him a new creature that she had caught. But he’d have to ask Irida before he could allow Akari to name his noble’s kits. If that broke a rule he was unaware of, and the Pearl Clan discovered someone had taken it upon themselves to name his noble’s kits, and he let them…oh, Sinnoh forbid Calaba have another reason to disapprove of his position as warden-
“-Well of course they need names!” Akari retorted, misunderstanding the reason for Ingo’s hesitance. “It’s about time, it’s been over a week now since they’ve hatched! There’s nine of them here, how else are we going to keep track of them all? Otherwise, they’re all just ‘the kits’ or something!”
Ingo blamed his cold-induced brain fog for stalling his mouth long enough for her to keep going.
“And I say we name this one Powder!” She gently held the fluffy runt close as she tore off a small chunk of sitrus, and held it up to her soft mouth. The kit made a sweet sound as she sunk her tiny teeth into the fruit and sucked on the juice. “It’s a good name for her, don’t you think?”
The soft, downy kit snuggled against the teenager mewled timidly around the berry in her teeth, as if agreeing she liked the name.
“It is rather fitting, I admit,” Ingo sniffed, rubbing at his nose…still sort of runny. “But Miss Akari-“
“-Ow!”
Ingo paused at the disruptive exclamation, his train of thought derailed as he quickly glanced over. Akari noticed the concern.
“Sorry, he bit me again!”
Sure enough, when Ingo looked over, he observed that the plump sneaslet had gotten greedy and latched onto Akari’s hand, in an effort to snatch away the sitrus berry from Powd- from the runt.
“Perhaps consider giving him half of another berry if he’s still hungry.” Ingo advised, derailing from the previous topic to address the current issue. He was almost ready to ask if Akari wanted to hand the bitey sneaslet to him.
“There are better ways to let me know he wants more, like saying ‘please’.” Akari half-joked as she gently coaxed the kit’s mouth from off her hand, before proceeding to feed the runt the rest of the fruit chunk that had been unsuccessfully stolen. But she did grab another berry and divided it, giving chunks from one half to Powd- to the runt to see if she’d like more, and the other half to her bitey sibling.
The runt quietly nibbled on her pieces, while her sibling snatched his up quickly between his teeth.
“We have to name this one Chomp.” Akari promptly concluded, watching him eat.
That’s two names now.
Two kits were named, and you couldn’t take back names once they were given - it was practically impossible, and he could see Akari was already set on naming them all. How could he possibly tell her she couldn’t?
“Ahem,” Ingo peeled off a chunk of pecha to feed to the third sneaslet still waiting patiently in his lap; a little lady, judging by the stunted feather. “It is difficult to say this Miss Akari, but…though I am a warden, I am new to this, well…aspect, of my position. I am unfamiliar with the customs that entail naming a noble’s young and whether it is appropriate or not, and as such, I ask that you refrain from…”
Ingo’s already-tired voice weakened even further as he watched the lighthearted joy fade from Akari’s features, a sort of seriousness replacing it as she listened to him explain himself. Did she think she was in trouble? Oh this was hard, and he didn’t know for sure if this was an issue or not. Perhaps he was just being overly cautious again…
“…letting the Pearl Clan know that they’ve been given names, until I can officially consult Lady Irida on the matter.” The warden caved as he slumped back against the cavern wall, ending the sentence with a stifled cough as the kits in his lap readjusted themselves against him.
He was unsure if he really should have said something like that, but seeing the cheeriness return to Akari’s eyes at the statement was worth it for him.
“Oh, yes! Of course! I won’t say anything!” She smiled as she handed the last chunk of sitrus to the run- to Powder, who gratefully took the soft fruit and nibbled on it, content. Chomp was staring at her the entire time with a look of envy in his big eyes.
“So if this is Powder, and this is Chomp,” Akari’s gaze drifted over to the three kits Ingo currently had nestled in his lap. “Then what would their names be..?”
She first focused on the tiny sneaslet that Ingo was currently feeding. He was holding out a chunk of pecha to the tiny bundle of fur just like he did with the others, but she didn’t seem satisfied with that; Ingo kept having to move her back onto his lap, as she was repeatedly ignoring the small piece in favor of trying to crawl to the large berry he was taking chunks from. She wanted the whole thing at once!
“That one’s Pecha!” Akari pointed at the greedy sneaslet. “Because she seems to really like pecha berries!”
“Once again, a rather fitting name, I’d say.” Ingo agreed as he handed the last fruit chunk to Pecha. She scarfed it down rather quickly, before grasping onto his sleeve with her sharp claws, and chirping as if asking for more.
“And, um,” Akari moved her focus to the two other kits resting on Ingo’s lap; they had long since finished their meals, and were now sleeping warm against the warden’s free arm, held around them to keep them from falling out of his lap. A boy and a girl, again judging by the lengths of their feathered ears. The boy was as quiet as ever, curled into a tight ball, with the girl draped a little more loosely over him.
“Maybe, uh, Balm for the boy; he’s so calm! Every time I see him, he seems to be sleeping! And the girl…”
The little lady yawned, revealing her tiny, needle-like teeth for a moment, before rubbing at her face with her small purple claws, and scratching at her short purple feather.
Lavender flashed through her mind for a moment, comparing the purple in her pelt to the shade. But ‘Lavender’ was awfully close to ‘Laventon’, and that felt a little…weird.
“…maybe Lilac? She’s got a really pretty shade of purple.”
Ingo could see why Akari liked to nickname all of her Pokémon; she was very good at it, and picked very fitting names. Perhaps she was so good at it because she nicknamed so many Pokémon.
“And now,” Akari picked up another kit, snuggled under the insulating nesting material next to her. “A name for you!”
The fluffy kit instinctively snuggled up to Powder for warmth as Akari placed them together in her lap (and away from Chomp), which made the runt squeak quietly and squirm half-heartedly, latching back onto her warmth-seeking sibling.
“Hmm,” Akari pondered as she picked up an oran berry from the pile and began to peel it. She noticed the kit was a male, judging from its longer feathered ear, but what caught her eye was that the feather seemed to be bent; it appeared almost like the leaves of a few plants she had seen on the mountain before. Perhaps the feather would correct itself with age, but for now, it was a recognizable feature.
“I think Nettle fits for you!” Akari concluded as she gently nudged an oran slice towards the kit’s mouth. He sniffed it for a moment, before nibbling on the edge, trying to grip it with his tiny claws. “Your feather looks like one.”
Quiet, but incensed yowling from her side caught Akari’s attention, and she turned to see Ingo had picked up a fourth kit to feed, except they seemed upset.
“Not every passenger is satisfied with our selection today, it seems,” Ingo retracted his hand from the kit, which had been offering her a cheri berry. The picky sneaslet continued to make sounds of displeasure, even going so far as to half-heartedly swipe at his hand. “I believe this is the kit that was rather selective with what she wanted yesterday.”
Ah yes, the picky one. Akari remembered how yesterday, all of the kits happily gobbled up all of the berries they had brought, thoroughly enjoying the new treats for the first time. All of them, that was, except for her. She had stuck her nose up at just about everything that had been handed to her. Ingo had been worried he wouldn’t be able to get her to eat anything, until she had scrambled into his coat, having caught the scent of cake lure base in his pocket, and gobbling that up.
She had a “rather refined taste”, as Akari had put it.
“Hang on, I think I still have some of my muffin from this morning,” Akari used her free hand to fish through her satchel, in search of the breakfast leftovers she hadn’t finished. She had made them for herself and Ingo that morning, but seeing as all of the ingredients were simple and organic, it should be alright for the kit to eat.
“We shouldn’t make it a habit to feed her these things,” Ingo commented. “Lest she become spoiled and influence her siblings.”
“It’s fine, it’s fine; I bet she’ll grow out of it when she’s able to have meat.” Akari brushed it off.
She successfully retrieved the half-muffin from her bag, and held a piece out to the whining kit. The sneaslet stopped yowling at the sight of the treat and sniffed the air cautiously, before accepting the piece. One hesitant bite turned into many quick ones, and Akari handed her another chunk as soon as she finished it.
“I don’t think she realizes this is basically made up of what she was just crying over.” Akari snickered at Ingo; she had baked double the berries into the muffin, just the way herself and Ingo liked it, and the kit apparently had no problem with the berries like that.
“Perhaps she prefers to simply make a fuss and be tended to.” The warden guessed, moving a hand to keep the kit in his lap; she was now unsatisfied with the small chunks, and was trying to make a grab for the rest of the muffin in Akari’s hand. In truth, when he put it like that, this kit’s behavior reminded him of Lady Sneasler, in a way. She could also be quite huffy about certain things if she didn’t get her way.
“Ok, she’s gotta be named Duchess, then!” Akari handed her the last of her muffin, before sitting back and dusting the crumbs off of herself.
“Duchess? What brought you to that stop?”
“Because you’d think she’s royalty with how high her standards are! And, she kind of reminds me of Lady Sneasler with how picky she is…she needs a title name to match!”
It seemed he wasn’t the only one who saw the comparison between her and her mother then, Ingo thought.
“It’s a suitable name for her.” Ingo agreed as Akari reached for one of the last two kits still bundled in the nesting material.
“Another girl!” Akari commented as she held the chubby kit in her hands, petting her carefully on her little head as she gave a startled chirp - she had apparently fallen asleep in the soft nest. Akari placed her in her lap between Powder and Chomp, the latter of whom immediately started biting on her playfully. The kit didn’t seem to mind, thankfully too drowsy to care.
“Hmmm…” Akari pondered as she grabbed a cheri berry and started separating a chunk of the fruit flesh for her. What would she name this one..?
The kit chirped amongst her siblings, waking up as she was handed the cheri berry to chew on. She stuffed the sweet fruit chunk into her mouth, rather than nibbling off a little at a time like the rest of her siblings.
“What do you think of the name Mochi for this one?” Akari continued to gently pet the sneaslet as it worked on the cheri chunk.
“A good name, like the rest of them,” Ingo remarked, learning forward slightly to search for the last kit hidden in the nesting material. “What supplied the inspiration for that one?”
“You!” Akari grinned with the reveal, laughing a little. “She eats the same way you eat Beni’s mochi at The Wallflower!”
Ingo’s ears warmed up at the comparison as Akari laughed; surely, that was an exaggeration. But looking at the kit as she ate the berry, she…sort of did.
“Yes, well…” Ingo cleared his throat as he resumed searching for the last kit in the nest. “Still a fitting name, all the same.”
His hands finally found the kit he had been searching for, and carefully, Ingo lifted it out of the warm material; a boy, chirping as it gripped onto Ingo’s fingers for support. Lady Sneasler had had a rather balanced litter, he thought, with four boys and five girls.
“One left, Miss Akari. Do any names come to mind for this one?” Ingo asked as he placed the kit amongst the other siblings in his lap; they all grouped together, a warm bundle against his arm.
The teenager seemed to ponder the question momentarily, before she sat up straight with a great idea, poking him in the arm. “Wait, no! You should name this one!”
“Me?” Ingo’s first instinct was to discourage it. He was not the best with names; it’s entirely why he didn’t really subject nicknames to his pokemon.
“Yes, you! I’ve named all of them so far, you’ve got to name at least one of them!” Akari urged, continuing to nudge his arm. The jostling caused some of the kits in her lap, now drowsy with their full stomachs, to shift and mewl in protest. “Come on, Ingo!”
“Well,” Ingo’s frown pulled as he looked down at the unnamed kit in his lap. He wasn’t sure he would be any good with it; he’d probably take forever to think of one, compared to Akari. “...I suppose I can try.”
“Yes!” Akari cheered; Ingo was at least grateful to know she had more faith in him, than he did himself.
Now let’s see, a name…even with his mild, cold-induced brain fog, a few words definitely came to mind when he thought about it, looking at the kit.
Caboose, Shuttle, Ballast, Signal, Trolley…
They were the names (he) always suggested whenever (Emmet) urged (him) to help name some of his newly (hatched)(joltiks), whenever his (sweet)(galvantula) presented more (eggs).
(Ugh, the memory had holes, like the rest of them…)
They were the names always suggested whenever the other urged for help naming some of his new ones, whenever it presented more…
…but, Ingo didn’t know what any of those names actually were, like much of the other strange vocabulary that floated around in his brain, words without definitions. And no matter how hard he tried to remember what those terms actually were, he couldn’t quite recall. Ever since he had fallen sick, it had become even more difficult to recall things with his lagging brain.
Ingo reached back to rub at the spot on his scalp that began to ache dully. It saddened him in a way he didn’t fully understand, but maybe it’d be better to avoid terms like that.
His thoughts then drifted to the names that Akari had already picked out; perhaps he could come up with something that matched what she was doing. Several of the names had to do with food, and one was even based off of a plant. And another two were for the kits’ colorations, weren’t they?
“Do you believe the name ‘Taro’ is suitable for this one?” Ingo proposed after his short session of contemplation; he had been peeling a pecha berry all the while, and handed a chunk to Taro, who took it quickly.
“Taro?” Akari blinked at the warden. “Where did that come from?”
Ingo was partially thankful he hadn’t gone with one of his initial, mystery terms; he wouldn’t have been able to explain if she had asked that about one of them.
“Well, taro is an edible root, and the flesh inside it white, with purple speckling - Beni’s served the root a few times at The Wallflower. It just seemed rather similar to a sneasel’s coloration.”
Once Akari understood it, she smiled and gave him a thumbs up. “Oh, that’s a perfect name! I like it!”
Ingo returned her encouragement with one of his small, thin smiles; a part of him appreciated the affirmation that he had done well with picking a name. “Good to know it’s got your approval.”
Taro squeaked with satisfaction as it finished off the last berry, and much like the rest of his siblings, he retired to snuggling against Ingo and taking a nap.
“We’ve gotta show Zisu the kits when they get big enough to leave the nest,” Akari told Ingo as she leaned against his arm to rest along with the sneaslets; they only had about an hour or so to rest before they’d wake up and demand to be fed again. “She asked about them again this morning when I left to meet up with you, and wanted to know how you were doing with your cough and everything.”
Ingo recalled how a week back, he and Akari had gone to the training grounds to let Zisu know he had been gone for the last several days due to an illness, and to apologize for leaving her with no notice, but he would need more time off.
Akari had piped up and told the captain he needed maternity leave, which immediately sent Zisu into a fit of loud, continuous laughter. With a face as red as a pop pod, Ingo had to hastily explain that Akari was thinking of paternity leave, and even then, it was just him taking care of his noble’s newly-hatched kits, part of his duty as a warden. But it was too late; Zisu would never let that go, and Ingo’s flustered explanation had made it even funnier.
“Take as long as you need,” Zisu had told him as she wiped a tear from her eye, a big smile on her face. “But I’m hoping I can see these kits soon!”
“Perhaps this next week or so, I can bring a few of them down when I resume my schedule and return to my station at the dojo.” Ingo thought out loud, repositioning himself slightly to make it more comfortable for Akari to rest against him.
Sneasels were rather energetic creatures, and they grew fast, as all Pokémon did. He suspected that within a week or so, they’d be running around on their back legs and play-fighting, no longer the sleepy, generally-calm bundles of fur they were now. And they were wild too, and meant to stay that way; Ingo at least knew you were not allowed to catch a noble or their offspring. Irida and Calaba had made that very clear to him the moment they found out he liked to utilize the ‘barbaric and cruel’ pokeballs that Jubilife Village and its inhabitants had brought with them. He wasn’t sure he’d want nine wild, uncontrolled (and venomous) sneasels running around the village, when he was trying to do his job.
Perhaps he’d start with one or two, three if Akari wanted to help.
But a part of him was excited to show them to Zisu, names and all. While he was still wary about whether or not they could actually have names, he couldn’t deny names brought character and personality.
Sure, maybe Chomp would grow out of his biting habit. Perhaps Duchess could develop to be the most humble, agreeable one. Maybe Balm would become the most energetic, wired sibling, and Pecha could outgrow her apparent love for the sweet fruit. What was in a name anyways? But Akari was right, names helped set them apart as individuals, rather than just “Lady Sneasler’s kits”.
He looked forward to when they could all meet Zisu.
Ingo coughed again into his scarf. Perhaps bringing more kits at a time would feel manageable once he got over this lingering achiness as well.
But he’d worry about that next week. For now, he settled against the cavern wall and allowed himself to rest, with Akari against his shoulder, and the five sneaslets sleeping in his lap.

Ingo for “Here, take my blanket/jacket" please!
authors note: INGO,,,, MY WEAKNESS,,,,,,,,,,, I know you didn't specify which Ingo, so i went with warden ingo!! hope that's okay!!
I wanna give a special thank you to Lyon!! They were kind enough to proof read this for me!! <3
prompt: “Here, take my blanket/jacket." tags: fluff. It’s so fuckin sweet i felt like i was going to EXPLODE
You rubbed at your arms and blew hot air into your hands, feeling the tips of your fingers go numb at the action that was barely doing anything for you. They weren’t kidding when they said the Highlands were freezing cold.
Blinking over at the man who accompanied you to the cliffs in order to find salt for Professor Laventon, you watched as Ingo marched along with ease. He must’ve been so used to this type of weather… I mean, he did frequent here a lot with Lady Sneasler. And, didn’t he say his hut was here? You wondered what it was like to spend so many days in the cold.
But when the thought came, your mind drifted back to Irida.
“Ingo.” You disturbed the peaceful silence, drawing a hum from the odd man before you. “You know… I’ve always wondered how Irida copes with all this cold! Have you seen what she wears? Super cute… But isn’t she cold?” You picked up the pace, matching his steps and leaning slightly against him in hopes of soaking up his warmth. He felt like a furnace when you pressed against his arm, making him jolt.
“Lady Irida does have an interesting sense of fashion… but I suppose it is what makes her most comfortable. You and I both know she doesn’t cope well in the heat. Perhaps she runs at a higher temperature than we do. The whole clan probably does.”
You nodded along to his explanation, despite finding it a bit odd. Nonetheless, you took it for what it was.
“Does the cold bother you? It doesn’t seem like it. Perhaps you should also don the same outfit she does!” A laugh sounded from you, causing Ingo to tilt his hat down in mild embarrassment. A part of him adored the sound of you laughing. It was unique in its own way and always left his lips jumping.
A rumble in his chest desperately wanted to sound. Laughing was a challenge nowadays, but at least smiling wasn’t too tough. Akari and Rei had taught him that with each and every battle they had with him. For Giritina's sake, even you got a smile out of him
“I don’t think my figure would fit such an attire, hero-”
“Y/N, Ingo. Just Y/N.” It would always bug you when he would call you ‘Hero.’ You just wanted to live your life normally in Hisui now that you were practically stuck there, but maybe, just maybe, after kicking Arceus’ ass again, you could convince the being who trapped you to let you go back home.; more specifically, to let you and Ingo go back home.
That is, if he even remembered what his home was. He seemed familiar but you could never recall who he was or what he did before Hisui.
“Ah. Yes. Y/N. My apologies. He tilted his hat at you before readjusting it, allowing the rim to rest above his eyebrows with his hands tucking themselves on his back once more. Ingo was always so polite. “... And besides, I do believe pink isn’t my color.”
“Oh it so is! I’ll have to speak to Anthe about making you your own.” You elbowed him gently, grinning at the typically somber man. “I’ll make sure it’s modest, just for you.”
Now a grin was starting to pull at his own lips, and a huff of a laugh exited his nostrils with the shut of his eyes. “Of course, Y/N.”
And that was that. The conversation ended on a light note and the two of you continued on your merry way, stopping every so often to hit at the pink salt growing on the side of the mountain to toss into your basket. But as the sun slowly began to descend, so did the temperature. You couldn’t help but shudder and chatter your teeth as the hours went by.
Ingo was quick to catch onto this and his hand hovered over your shoulder before it would drop. He felt so awkward around you. Not in a bad way, no. He just wasn’t sure how to exactly act around you. You made him feel a certain way and it made his head hurt when he tried to think about it.
Lost in his thoughts Ingo didn’t even notice how a particularly harsh gust of wind almost blew you away, forcing you to grasp at the collar of your jacket in an effort to stay as warm as possible. Your nose and ears flared bright red, and your eyes watered from how harsh the ice particles were in the breeze. It was when you grabbed his arm for support did he snap himself out of his thoughts, almost leaping into the air when you squeezed his bicep. You stopped walking, gasping for some sort of breath.
The wind was so cold you could hardly breathe.
“Y/N…?” Ingo supported you by grabbing your forearms, a frown forming on his face. “Arceus, you’re freezing!” With ease, he leaned back and shuffled off his jacket, throwing it over your shoulders and clasping the two buttons before drawing the collar closer to your face. “Here, take my jacket. It’ll keep you warm until we reach my hut.” His face was so close to yours. Your eyes fluttered open and met his own gaze.
The two of you just… stood there. Barely a single breath away from him, the tip of your nose brushed against his own and you leaned forward to hide your cold face in his shoulder. Your cheeks became a newfound red and it wasn’t because of the weather. He felt so firm and stable, and when your hands came to grasp at his tunic you gasped.
“Aren’t you c-cold? I can’t take your jacket!” Leaning up on your tippy toes, you grabbed more of the Warden’s clothing with a gasp. “You’ll get cold and sick, a-and-”
Gentle hands held yours and pulled them close to his face, cupping them in order to blow heated air onto them. You Immediately melted, eyelashes fluttering with a gaze that read heavily of the emotions you felt for him.
“I’ll be just fine, Y/N. Trust me. Now come, let’s get you someplace warmer… preferably with a bowl of stew.”
Keeping your hands in his, he walked ahead of you to shield you from the harsh winds. Along the easy, the two of you had the biggest smiles on your face…
… Even if Ingo was freezing his ass off.

So Where She Belongs Akari's parents were on the boat and got smote? 'Cause that does eliminate the wonderful option of "They fuck around and find out in Hisui" because if Ingo's adopted her, Sneasler probably did too. Thats the kind of stuff people pay money to see play out.
I think I along with everyone else have been assuming that Akari's parents were on the boat and died but you know what? I want Ingo to be the one to smite them. Arceus the well-meaning but kind of insane grandpa is like oh, you wish to kill my granddaughter’s parents? Yes alright I bless this blood sacrifice, here is a holy knife go get ‘em son. :)
Ingo is like. I wasn’t planning on killing anybody but Almighty Sinnoh Himself literally just told me to and honestly I wouldn’t feel too bad doing it anyways so yeah okay. I mean, it wouldn’t do for a Warden of the Pearl Clan to refuse an order from Almighty Sinnoh himself, right?
Melli’s just sitting next to Ingo, who’s just casually twirling his blessed dagger around his hand, with a slightly traumatized look in his eyes like. Warden Ingo was given permission to commit murder? Warden Ingo was given HOLY PERMISSION to COMMIT MURDER. Okay okay okay cool cool cool cool—
Anyways Ingo goes on a quest alongside Lady Sneasler soon after to kill horrible disgusting parents :)
Meanwhile Melli thinks back on the conversation he just witnessed between Ingo and Almighty Sinnoh and is like. Hold on granddaughter? SON??? DID ALMIGHTY SINNOH CALL WARDEN INGO SON?!

PLA Dad Ingo and Uncle Emmet AU part 2
so here's part 2! I have such PLA brainrot its unbelievable...I blame my weakness for found family, especially the accidental child acquisition variety XD You can read part 1 here! I have also decided that Akari is not Dawn. I'm also aware I should probably name this au but I honestly cannot think of anything.
Back in Hisui Akari throws herself into the pokedex research, helping Volo along the way by capturing the likes of Heatran, Regigigas, Cresselia and receiving their plates as well. It's slow going but Akari is determined to get it done.
Those around her such as Rei and Laventon worry she is overworking herself in order to distract herself from Warden Ingo's absence. Akari denies this when asked but deep down she knows they're right. However she still refuses to listen to their urging to take it easy.
Akari rarely rests, running herself into the ground over the weeks to get closer to completing her goal. Volo who in the poor girls mind is one of the few people she can trust plays the perfect confidant, subtly manipulating Akari so that her attention shifts less on finding pokemon and more so on finding the plates. Two months after Ingo's departure there's only two plates left to find the ghost plate and the fist plate.
Of course Akari doesn't know Volo has had the ghost plate all along, the man in question is very pleased with their fast progress and thinks to himself perhaps he should have gotten rid of Ingo himself earlier if it meant Akari would listen so easily to him. Not that there's much to be done now Warden Ingo is gone and isn't going to be a problem anymore (That's what he thinks)
In fact the only way Akari properly rests these days is when Lady Sneasler finds her if she's in the highlands (Sneasler finds her every time). The noble will find Akari put her in her basket and carry her to her den and promptly depsoit her amongst her newest kits who excited to see one of their babysitters shower her with affection and then fall asleep on her. This leaves Akari with no choice but to stay there so as not to disturb them. She knows Sneasler is trying to look out for her in Ingo's stead so she can't be too upset when the noble tricks her into resting.
Due to Ingo's absence Akari not wanting to potentially cause tensions between Jublife and the Clans Akari is forced to return to Jublife more often. She knows she could still use Ingo's tent but finds herself unable to stay there because she misses him so much. She does however take one of his spare tunics and keeps it in her house in Jublife.
Sometimes when the whispers get too much or after she's forced into a meeting with Kammado (Rei, Cyllene and Laventon refuse to let her be alone with him, Akari is very grateful) she'll hug it close. As much as Akari misses him she can't regret sending him back to his brother.
Its two weeks later Akari finally works up the courage to face Kammado at Volo's urging. The crafty merchant gently tells her that she needs to face her fear so she can prove to herself Kammado can't pull a stunt like he did again. Akari while not entirely convinced agrees if only becomes Volo has always been kind to her and the fact he promises to stay nearby just in case.
Volo smirks to himself as he watches Akari face and defeat Kammado and subsequently receive the fist plate, it really has been too easy to manipulate the girl while she's missing the Warden. He tells Akari to meet him at the Temple of Sinnoh and she agrees saying she'll meet him there in two days time. Not knowing his true intentions and just how much danger she is in.
Meanwhile back in the present Emmet and Ingo after a hasty call to Elesa about Ingo's return and a request for her to ask Skyla when the next flight to Sinnoh will be the two begin to prepare for their Journey.
This of course means not 10 minutes after his call Elesa is at their door and sweeping the two of them into a hug before yelling at Ingo for disappearing and worrying them all for so long. Emmet leaves Ingo to explain himself to their best friend and sister and continues to prepare for going to Sinnoh.
Elesa at first wants to come with them but the twins gently remind her that Nimbasa city cannot be left without all of them for long and they do not know how long they will be gone for. Elesa reluctantly agrees on the condition the twins keep her updated as much as possible. They agree and spend a few days with Elesa as they make arrangements for the battle subway and such. Elesa agrees to take care of the pokemon they're not bringing and also agrees to manage the press while they're both away.
The two make their way to Mistralton City to meet Skyla. The gym leader is ready to go on their arrival and the twins waste no time. During the flight they learn all they can about Sinnoh's legendary pokemon and agree the best place to start is with the legendary lake trio after Ingo reveals that an item called the red chain was made from items received during trials with Lake guardians to help tame Dialga and Palkia. The two however are unable to find anything about the Temple of Sinnoh but agree to check out Spear Pillar on Mt Coronet due to the location.
It's through their research they learn about the story of creation and how Arceus and the world came to be. Based off what little Akari told him about her 'mission' and coupled with the presence of her Arc-phone in the past Ingo concludes that Arceus is most likely responsible for Akari ending up in Hisui. Though Ingo is still unsure of how exactly he ended up in Hisui. Emmet on the other is downright gleeful that they are potentially going to fight a god(he deserves to work through all his emotions due to past and current events and beating a god would be very good catharsis for him).
Once landing in Jublife the two get to work making their way to Lake Verity first. They stop to rest in Sandgem town and this is where Ingo and Emmet meet Lucas on their way to the pokemon centre. Ingo is struck by how much Lucas resembles Rei and while at the pokecentre the two end up striking up conversation with him. When they find out he is helping out professor Rowan the two ask if he knows anything about Mespirit, Azelf and Uxie. Lucas is happy to help them when they explain they are simply researching Legendary pokemon and their interest has brought them to Sinnoh. Of course it helps that the twins in turn tell Lucas the tale of Reshiram and Zekrom, who is enthralled and thanks them profusely.
After talking with Lucas and resting for the night the two make their way to the lake and to Ingo's surprise find Mespirit waiting for them. The two stick close to each other while Ingo explains why they are here. Mespirit is the being of emotion and questions Emmet on his feelings during is brothers absence and reappearance. Emmet answers freely and Ingo feels awful for putting his brother through all that with his unscheduled departure but it's Mespirits final question that catches them both off guard, because they thougt the answer was obvious.
Mespirit asks Emmet why he seems to care so much for a girl he's never met. To the twins who before Ingos abrupt disappearance had always been together its a very innocuous question. Emmet simply responds "I am Emmet, my brother is verrrry important to me, of course I would align my tracks and care for someone he does" Ingo is touched nonetheless that his brother already cares greatly for Akari. They do not receive a piece to make the red chain but they do leave with Mespirit's approval. That has to count for something. The brothers don't let a small change in tracks derail them. They press on.
The two head to Lake Valor next in search of Azelf and this time its Ingo who is put to the test. Azelf is brutal in its endeavor to test Ingo's will, Ingo however is unyielding nothing is stopping him from getting back to his daughter and bringing her home, mission assigned to her by Arceus or not. She was a child his child, Akari was coming home with them no matter what. He pours all his frustration at the situation that he and Akari were forced in into passing Azelf's trial and it pays off. He passes the trial with Emmet applauding him and that only leaves one guardian left Uxie. Again they do not receive Azelf's piece for the red chain but leave with its blessing.
So they begin to travel to Lake Acuity intent on facing the final guardian before the try to track down Dialga or Palkia. At this point they've been in Sinnoh for around a month. Emmet can see the toll this taking on his brother, can see the urgency in his brother's actions as he rushes through safety checks and does his best to comfort him. Emmet has never been great at talking that had always been Ingo but he does know how to put his brother at ease. So for most of their journey he goes into detail about his strategies to beat Arceus into the ground, cheerfully citing that since his wonderful Electross has the levitate ability (I know abilities aren't a thing in legends but this my au and I say they will) and therefore has no weaknesses for Arceus to exploit unless the damn thing has mold-breaker. It has the intended effect and soon he and Ingo are bickering good-naturedly about type matchups and strategies as they travel.
Ingo knows what his brother is doing and is very thankful for it. It makes their long trek up the snowy path to Lake Acuity pass by quicker, though when they rest for the evening there are some nights where Ingo lays awake worrying. Is Akari resting enough, are the villagers leaving her alone, is she eating properly? A million worries zip through his mind like a runaway train. There's a sinking feeling in his gut that tells him she needs his help and Ingo would be dammed if he didn't get to her in time.
When they finally arrive at Lake Acuity they've been in Sinnoh for just under two months and meeting with Uxie confirms Ingo's worst fears. Uxie is the guardian of the mind and is able to communicate with Ingo and Emmet with it taking less of a toll on him. Uxie has no trial for them instead the pokemon explains why they have not received the items from its counterparts.
"The rulers of time and space will come when you call for them at the top of spear pillar, the lost one is in need of you. Their are powerful forces at play. The creator and the banished each have their own agenda. The lost one has been betrayed once more."
The guardian's words alone are enough to send Ingo into a deadly rage, the conductor spits out countless threats about Kammado and Beni, promising hell if they'd dared harm is child once more.
This leaves Emmet to be calm collected twin for once (he isn't sure he likes it). His own anger accumulating inside but Emmet shoves it down, Ingo and his niece both needed him to keep a level head, there would be a time to work out his own anger just not now. While Ingo is busy going feral, Emmet decides to ask the million dollar question of who exactly has betrayed the niece he has yet to meet. Uxie's reply is simply "The merchant" it tells them.
Ingo goes still and feels mouth go dry. His mind playing back to the times Volo appeared to ask questions about both his and Akari's experience beyond the rift. His weird fixation on the rift and the events surrounding it in general. How he was always around to conveniently help when it was needed. His vested interest and need of Akari even after the rift was shut. It makes Ingo's blood boil to the point his pokeballs are shaking as his pokemon respond to his volatile emotions as he snarls. "Volo you bastard"
Emmet is worried for a moment his brother may fully lose it then and there taken aback by his cursing, but after a few moments Ingo takes in a shaky breath and releases it. Then in voice contorted with a carefully controlled fury he looks his brother in the eye and says. "All aboard Emmet we make our tracks for Mt. Coronet and nothing will derail us from our destination."
Emmet can do nothing, would do nothing else but follow his brother as Ingo whirls around to make for the exit of the cavern, his black coat billowing behind him. This Volo character won't know what hit them when the two of them show up. Emmet doubted there'd be much of a person left if Akari was hurt when they got there by the time Ingo and himself were done with them.
The journey to Spear Pillar is a blur to Ingo, his barely concealed rage is simmering just beneath the surface held together only by the thought of getting to Akari on time and Emmet's reassuring presence at his side. He is grateful to find both Dialga and Palkia waiting for them within what is now Spear Pillar. They are both stamping at the ground seemingly agitated in response to Ingo and Emmet's own emotions and summoned by their urgency. Without needing to ask the two legendary beasts roar and power surges through the temple. A portal appears as wind whips around them and neither twin hesitates to step in.
"Hang on Akari we're coming"
Phew, man I thought my last post was long...this one is even longer I feel. There's definitely going to be another part to this. I originally planned to end this with them arriving and like an epic line by Emmet. I'm still including the line in the next part but if I got to that point here it'd be a mile long. Anyways I hope you enjoyed this!
Part 3 can now be found here!

Ingo's Hisui pokemon!!
(Again, all pokemon caught in their first evolution except Express and Polar and all evolved to their last)
During the early days of settling into the Pearl Clan, Ingo has no idea what an alpha pokemon is, and no one can explain it to him properly bc language barriers so when he sees an alpha Gligar (Em) he's just "wow that's a big fuckin Gligar" with no concern for the danger. He first sees Em from within the settlement, trying to hunt some food in the distance. He's with several other smaller Gligar who for some reason aren't letting him get close to the prey. Em is very brave and tries his luck stealing food from the settlement, which causes some panic. Ingo quickly sees he has a broken wing and is probably considered weak by his own kind for it, even as an alpha, which is why they treated him that way. Ingo throws him some of his own food much to the horror of the clan members. Em continues to return to the settlement and steal food from Ingo after that, eventually trusting him enough to let him look at his wing and help heal him. Em decides Ingo's back is very comfy actually and he's gonna stay there and cling to it now. Ingo names him because his smile reminds him if someone he can't quite place
Ingo and Em are exploring Hisui so Ingo can get used to its geography when they end up in the Coastlands. They're foraging and are not so subtly being followed by a Tangela (Trip) that keeps snatching up berries Ingo (definitely not intentionally) drops. She's noticed bc she keeps tripping over he own vines. Em gets annoyed with her and tries to scare her off. Ingo scolds Em and challenges Trip to a battle instead of scaring her. Em thinks that once the battle is over Trip will leave but much to his jealously, despite Em's victory, Ingo congratulates Trip's bravery and invites her to join them (Em and Trip eventually become besties I promise)
It's after this point that Ingo is introduced to Jubilife and gets some pokeballs from Laventon
A Machoke (Express Train, Express for short) sees Ingo training with Em and Trip in the Icelands often and takes it upon himself to challenge them every time he sees them. One time Ingo tells him it will have to be their last battle for a while as he is going to the Highlands to be a warden. Express decides to go with him bc he'll miss the battles too much
Lady Sneasler is baffled by Ingo's lack of survival skills (aka fondness for pokemon) but she wants him to be happy so if he wants a pokemon he can have this baby Abra (Motor) she found that was causing disturbance in the Ursaring territory. Abra don't live in the Highlands anyway it's her own fault she ended up here maybe she should have stayed in the Fieldlands if she didn't want to be a gift
Ingo is still new to navigating the caves in the Highlands when he decides to put torches in Wayward Cave. He has no idea where he's going and gets lost. He sees a group of Nosepass and forgets to be cautious around Hisuian pokemon. He does his pointing pose and asks if they can help him out. Most raise their defences but one (Compass) points back as if challenging him. She leads him out of the cave. Ingo returns later to complete his torch trail and Compass sees him and thinks he got lost again so tries to show him the exit. Ingo uses the direction to place his torches. Compass decides if this silly man is going to keep getting lost in caves she might as well follow him so she can help him out
A Magneton lands in Hisui through a space-time distortion. It is disoriented and wanders out of the distortion by accident. Ingo is nearby and sees it panicking when the distortion closes and it has nonjdea where it is. He tries to call out to it to calm it down but it keeps zooming around the area and poking at the ground trying to find a way back home. Ingo sees the thundertone that was knocked out of the distortion before Polar does and he calls out too late. Polar accidentally touches the stone and evolves into Magnezone, fuelling its panic more bc it did not expect to evolve at that moment. It eventually runs out if energy and Ingo tries to comfort it, telling it he is also misplaced and if it would make Polar feel better, they can travel and search for home together
(Polar ultimately decides to stay in Hisui when Ingo returns home. It doesn't know if it and Ingo come from the same place/time and it is too afraid to be ripped from all that is familiar again. Motor is the only one that goes with him)
:0 I like how some of his Hisui mons are named after snippets of his life/time period prior to travelling back in time; especially Em! The nickname is so cute, but also sad in context 💀. I also like how two of his mons started out as rivals/enemies, but became besties over time, makes me think about the Jellyfish Duo xbxhdhsjsbdjdhhsxhxj.

i’m sleep deprived so it’s sad au time - if i am unable to sleep for more than 4 hours at a time because of bs calls then everyone else gets to be sad too.
akari dying after her exile and becoming a zorua/zoroark is one of my favorite aus, however one version of this i haven’t seen is an au where beni successfully kills akari on her way up to the temple of sinnoh. (ik he doesn’t explicitly say he’s trying to do that in the game but that’s how i interpret the whole “kamado told me to get rid of you” lines from the game)
she’s on her way to meet irida, adaman, ingo and sneasler, and kamado when benji strikes. he stops her in her tracks and, shocked by the transformation, is able to send out a pokémon to get her. he send out gallade, who gets the upper hand on her and stabs into her stomach. akari collapses, and beni apologizes once more before changing back to his normal outfit and checking to make sure there was no blood visible, leaving to go tell kamado the news immediately after.
outside, he finds kamado and the leaders/ingo just kind of staring at each other. needless to say the other 3 are pissed at his friend, and that’s about to get a whole lot worse if he says what he’s done out loud. their heads snap to him as he nears, and he just gives kamado a sharp nod with a blank look on his face. kamari’s expression tightens before he nods back, much to the confusion of the others around him.
lady sneasler suddenly starts growling and trying to go after beni, much to the shock of the others. beni knows it’s because the pokémon can smell akari’s blood even after his cleaning, and so does her best to avoid her while her warden tries to stop her. this doesn’t go on for more than a few moments, as they’re cut off by something coming from the passage that beni had just come through - a howl full of pain, sadness, and anger.
while beni was doing his thing, akari had been dying. she felt a whirlwind of emotions flow through her - pain, for she knew how this would effect her dad ingo, and those she had grown close to. sadness, for she didn’t want to die without knowing who she was, or what her future could be. eventually, as she started to feel more sleepy and faint, her vision started to go dark. right as she died, the emotions swirling around all suddenly came into sharp clarity - she was furious.
everyone watches in horror as a figure emerges holding akari’s body. the figure looks like akari, but just slightly…. off. as if it can’t quite keep itself together. wisps of malice come off the new zorua, akari’s hair seeming to float around her, much lighter blue at the tips. the area above her eyes is the same blue, almost like she’s wearing eyeshadow. the most noticeable change, however, are her eyes. they’re bright yellow, filled with fury, and staring at kamado and beni.
ingo is the first to catch on, suddenly realizing why his noble was so angry, and goes to swing at them. lady sneasler, however, holds him back - she knows that this is akari’s time to go after the two, not her warden’s. although, she does definitely share the sentiment. adaman and irida look pissed as well, however can’t seem to tear their eyes from their friend. for the first time, beni and kamado are absolutely terrified.
almost as if she can sense it, akari grins at the two, far too sharp teeth being bared at them. she continues towards them, only stopping once she gets a few feet away. she carefully places her body down, eyes not leaving the two galaxy clan members as she does. she stands up straight, and continues to stare, seemingly planning her next move.
kamado and beni tense, and prepare to fight. however, akari is still akari, even with this newfound anger, and simply says one thing - “leave or else you’ll meet the same fate i did. i will not ask twice.” they hesitate, however akari takes another step forward and they bolt back towards the tunnels.
ingo immediately hugs her, which she gladly returns. he’s still absolutely destroyed by the fact that she was killed, however she’s still here, and that’s all that matters right now. irida and adaman don’t hesitate to hug her the second that ingo lets go. they break apart, and after a moment of silence, they call out some of their pokémon.
even though the almighty sinnohs await them, they take a moment to lay akari’s body to rest, making a simple headstone to mark the grave. they will have time to freak out later, however first they have to fix the red sky.
after, akari will do her best to go to jubilife as little as possible. if she does, she has no qualms with transforming into a zorua and menacing those who may still go after her, as well as purposely mess with kamado and beni. she tends to stay with ingo or the clans, and even befriends the groups or zorua and zoroark in the icelands.
it’s hard, but she learns to live with the constant simmering anger, to not let it explode out and hurt someone on accident. instead, she hones it, learning how to use it to her advantage.
she does eventually return to the present with ingo, living in unova with him and his family. she may remember her past now, but that akari died on top of mount coronet 2 years prior. they do take a trip to sinnoh eventually, where ingo and akari learn that the clans continued to tell others the stories of the warden from the sky, and the sky faller who turned into a pokémon. her grave is still atop the mountain, meticulously cared for by generations of clanspeople from both sides. she returns to unova much happier when she sees how little kamado and beni survived the test of time - almost all records only showing their misdeeds.
as she gets older, the blue goes purple, and one day she wakes up as a zoroark instead. she takes this in stride, adjusting her form appropriately. however she absolutely uses this to scare her dad, uncle, and aunt. she may have died, but that was no excuse not to live her newfound life to the fullest. especially since the unovan zorua and zoroark flock to her and her with pranks lol

so i just binged the submas wanted au, and i absolutely adore it! i was wondering though - there’s been a few mentions of both ingo and akari’s family/friends all together as a big group, but what about when ingo, emmet, and elesa have to go back to unova?
even though they’ve regained some memories, and are with their families, ingo and akari have been through hell and back together, both in hisui and sinnoh. especially in akari’s case - she has less of her memories to fall back on, leaving ingo as a huge constant in her life as far as she can completely remember. she loves her mom and barry, but they wouldn’t understand what she’s gone though, which includes the large amount of trust issues she’s gained - she may be strong, but she’s still a kid who has been thrown off the deep end so many times at this point, with her uncle and his lady being 2 of the only people/pokémon she could trust implicitly.
and like yeah, they have video calling and all that fun stuff, but trauma bonding runs deep and i could see it being very hard on them to separate even if it’s a few weeks after they’ve all reunited and have had time to truly relax. as well, lady sneasler would be leaving with ingo, meaning that the eggs and pokémon she’s been working to protect since they returned would be very far away, and even though logically they’re going to be safe, i feel like it would be a huge source of anxiety for her.
sorry for the long ask, i just really loved this au and it’s something i couldn’t stop thinking about as i kept reading!
Thank you!! And I love long asks! Don’t you worry!!
Also, I can assure you they are not actually going to be separated in the end. Found families breaking up and returning to the status quo at the end of the story is a trope I despise.
This whole experience is gonna leave some serious long lasting effects, on Akari especially since she’s never gonna get nearly as much of her memory back as Ingo will. Like you said, she loves her mom and Barry, but she’s bonded with Ingo in such a way that suddenly removing him from her life would do more harm then good.
Ingo might not have been the only adult figure that Akari bonded in her time in Hisui (Professor Laventon and Captain Cyllene to name two) but he’s the only one she still has, who’s still alive. The fact that everyone she knew in Hisui is now dead is gonna be something that hits them both at some point.
Emmet and Johanna are going to recognize this and listen to them. After loosing their loved ones for so long they would much rather expand of their existing families then put the two through any more stress.
I briefly mentioned it in one of the asks I answered, this one here, but after everything that happens I could see Johanna being willing to move to Unova if it means her baby will be more comfortable and able to recover more smoothly.
Like there might be two weeks where Ingo and Akari are physically separated, but with all the stress it causes them and Sneasler it makes the decision for Johanna and Akari to just move closer to the twins easier.
The Sinnoh champion now living in Unova most the year will be big change, but if it’s what Akari needs/wants then no one can stop them. It’s not like she’s never coming back and I feel like Ingo and Sneasler will still want to visit Sinnoh too.
And Barry will still see her too. His dad can pay for his plane tickets and I’m sure he’ll want to explore Unova and have another adventure like Ash does for every new region.
The real publicize issue that will arise from Akari’s move will be which region will get custody of the Hisui Pokémon. Due to the fact that, Legally Speaking, all Hisui pokemon belong to Akari and Ingo as they were the ones to catch them, the Sinnoh region would be at a disadvantage for them to demand they all say within Sinnoh’s boarders.
This argument could very well be what causes the two weeks separation. Akari will return to Sinnoh with her mom and the Hisui pokemon she caught, believing she should go back for their sakes and Ingo should stay with his brother here. Ingo wants to tell her to stay, That she’s under no obligation to do anything, but he’s also is dealing with his own stuff and doesn’t want to force her to stay someplace so foreign to her if she doesn’t want to.
So she’d go back and work with Cynthia and Rowen to start up the Hisui sanctuary in Sinnoh. Meanwhile Ingo is looking into doing the same in Unova for the pokemon he caught and of course for Sneasler and her kits. Just over two weeks later they’re both miserable and regressing. Their loved ones can see it though and decide that this is a terrible idea. They connect, talk it out, and decide that the Sinnoh region can run the sanctuary without Akari and any pokemon that have closely bonded with her are hers to take with her to Unova.
This still leaves the grand majority of the Hisui Pokémon for the Sinnoh region to keep and conservate, as there were far to many for Akari to bond with each individual one. The only exceptions are over a third of the sneasels, and the entirety of the Zorua and Zoroark. For those pokemon No Akari means No Deal. Besides, Unova would likely have a better time handling the Zorua and Zoroark as I could see the dark type variants becoming the equivalent of when cheetahs are given emotional support dogs to help them with their anxiety.
Anyway! Akari will not be forced to leave her found family and will be supported by all her loved ones to give both her and Ingo the best chance of recovery. The airport reunion of the family after this separation is of course very emotional! Also Emmet insisted on making a giant Welcome Home sign.

I absolutely adore those yamask s/o headcanons, and I’m just thinking, what if they returned as a hisuian zorura? According to bulbapedia they are
“A once-departed soul” and it “derives its power from resentment” obviously the s/o wouldn’t resent their partner, but most definitely how they died.
Ooooh good idea! Such a cute, tiny little Zorua <3 Ooh, and the angst of knowing the Zorua come from resentment oooh! I'm on it!
🍓🍓🍓
Laventon:
He's at your grave when it appears. A tiny Zorua, with big, sad eyes, easing itself out from behind the headstone. It approaches him, and Laventon holds his breath, horrified by the implications. Is this you? It couldn't be. Were you resentful of him? For not saving you? Was this your soul coming back to enact revenge?
No. The Zorua leaps into his lap, braces on his chest, and licks his cheek with a low whine. It nuzzles him before settling back down in his lap.
It's you. Laventon knows it's you. He presses kisses to the Pokémon as he carries it back to his office, setting it down. It responds eagerly to the items of yours Laventon shows it, snatching away your favorite blanket and running off to the couch to snuggle with it. Laventon tears up as it yips at him to come join it
You weren't resentful of him? The Zorua leans into his touch, and happily returns his kisses, so that can't be it. What resentment could you hold, then? Was it for someone specific? Or did you resent that you passed away to begin with? Was that it?
Laventon doesn't think he'll ever find out, but that's okay. He has a piece of you, here, curled up asleep in his arms. So cute, but you always were the most darling thing he's ever seen.
Ingo:
Ingo hears scratching at the door and blearily assumes he's accidentally locked out one of his team again. That, or it's Lady Sneasler, ready to drag him off to a river or to a berry tree. Either way, he knows he can't ignore the door, and he finds himself not caring about the little voice in his head, warning of dangers.
He opens the door and is tackled by a flash of white and red. The Zorua perched on his chest chirps happily at him, covering his face with kisses. Ingo sputters, confused by the affection of the random and very dangerous Pokémon. What would a Zorua want with. . . him. . .
He utters your name to the Zorua, sorrowful that you might've resented him in your final moments. It yips at him, then bolts off into the home. It heads straight to the bed, squeezing itself under the frame and reemerging with a small bag. Ingo blinks, surprised to see the item. Was it yours?
The bag contains a small book and some various nicknacks you'd collected during your time exploring. Ingo flips open the book as the Zorua makes itself comfortable in his lap. It's your journal. He didn't even know you had one. This Zorua. . .
He pets it as he reads through your journal, reads your thoughts of him, of Hisui, your dreams of a future where you both go home. That's right, home. . . He needs to pick up where you left off. This Zorua is what's left of your soul, and you both need to go home
No more wasting time
Cyllene:
There's something under her bed. She can see it, hear it shuffling around. Her command for it to reveal itself results in a tiny white head poking out, yipping happily at her. She cocks a brow.
A Zorua. . . The immediate question that pops into her head is dismissed, only to reappear as the Zorua rushes to her feet, bracing on her leg. She carefully picks up the Pokémon, regarding it. It licks her nose. She puts it down.
She starts to command Abra to teleport the Zorua outside when it barks at her. Shocked, she watches quietly as the Zorua settles on the bed and starts to carefully howl a familiar tune. Your tune.
She calls the professor's notes on Zorua, and expresses her sorrow that you resented her. The Zorua just whines, leaping back into her arms for more kisses. Ah, she sees. You're not resentful at her.
She lets the Pokémon stay, growing more and more convinced it's an echo of you as it tries to wiggle its way beneath her as she sleeps, pouting and whining whenever she denies it.
She misses you sore, but this reminder of you, one that doesn't appear resentful at all, is a nice final gift from you
🍓🍓🍓
Zoruas are so sweet! Hopefully these cute cuddlebugs help everyone feel a bit better <3

I just had a dumb idea for the raised by wolves au.
The pearl clan, scrambling for an explanation for why this Zoruark adopted these two kids and is overall friendly to people, starts throwing out the idea that maybe the Zoruark is a noble??? Perhaps an unknown one??? It's bigger than average (alpha) so it's possible??? They appoint Emmet as her warden
The other nobles don't do anything to disprove this theory because A. It's funny, and B. New friend yay.
Momma Zoruark is very confused and doesn't know how this happened
 Oh wait quick fic idea
When the massive zoroark shambles into the camp, there is, of course, panic. Irida is more or less ready to throw out her glacian to protect her people when she realizes that there’s a small boy trotting after it, an almost exact copy of the boy that Lady Sneasler had brought with her, his face hidden by the very same mask that the boy that had introduced himself as Ingo had worn. Could it be a zorua cub trailing after its mother and wearing a disguise? She had heard that there were two boys, but a part of her wondered if at least one of them was a copy of the other.
She wants to assess the situation further (though in this one case, she will secretly agree with Adaman that time is of the essence lest one of her clan members get hurt), but she isn’t able to do much before a streak of white and red speeds past her, a far too loud cry of EMMET practically shaking the snow from the mountain tops.
Lady Sneaslers trundles behind at a more sedate pace, chittering softly as the two boys crash into each other, tumbling slightly in the snow. She waves a large paw at Irida as she passes, strangely completely unbothered by the stranger showing up in her territory.
The zoroark pauses, regarding the boys with eyes that Irida would dare to call gentle, accepting when both boys quickly latch onto her as well. Strangely, she doesn’t seem violent the way other pokemon of its kind would be, carefully nudging a slender snout against Ingo’s snowy silver hair. Normally Lady Sneasler would be protective of her chosen warden, but she doesn’t seem to sense any malice from the zoroark, slinking down to chitter at it, her head titling curiously.
"What in Almighty Sinnoh's name...?" Irida startles, having been so intent on the interaction that she hadn't noticed Gaeric's approach.
He'd had the same idea as her in trying to intervene, but the zoroark isn't attacking anyone, the two boys are fearless, and even their Lady of the Ridge has no issue with it being so close to the village.
"Do you think it could be a forgotten Noble? Lady Sneasler usually only has this much respect for other nobles, and if she chose one of those boys, perhaps the other is the zoroark's warden?" Irida speculates. She would need to bring it up with Adaman and his wardens, but as she begins to approach the pokemon, she can't help but think that maybe it wouldn't hurt to have another Pearl Clan Noble in the Icelands.
A Lady of the Frozen Hills.

New stuff I’ve thought of over the past week for the Suspect One AU (working title) !!!
It’s basically an entire plot line so!!
Spoiler stuff ahead!
Ya know how Akari gets dropped into Hisui with the Arc Phone and the mission to “seek out all Pokemon”??
YEAH, SO
That, but Ingo and Arc Transceiver (his xtransciever is it wasn’t obv) and his mission is!!
“Protect my champion” or something like that
“champion” used in the terms of like “one who fights on behalf of someone else” That champion is Akari!!
Ingo still loses his memories, but the Arc Transceiver tells him his purpose, and while he doesn’t know who this champion is yet, he knows that’s what he’s supposed to do
stuff continues on as usual, Ingo quickly becomes part of the Pearl Clan and becomes Lady Sneasler’s Warden not long after
About a month after Ingo arrived, Akari arrives, however
She is a small child, like think 2 or 3 yrs old, starting to talk, but not yet forming coherent words or sentences
She has the Arc Phone, and seeing as it has the same symbol as the one on his Arc Trans, he knows immediately that this is the so called champion.
The Phone is just,,,, blank. doesn’t turn on, but we are DERAILING HERE SO
Akari ends up w the Pearl Clan. No one knows why this literal CHILD has fallen from the rift, and no one knows what to do with her. She has no name or guardian
Before he figures out about the Arc Phone, Ingo is sympathetic for the child. He sympathizes w/ her, but he’s not sure how to care for a child, so when Irida suggest it (”she’ll need someone who understands what it’s like to not know where she’s from” or some other logic, haven’t fully thought out that interaction)
So he tells her he’ll think abt it, fully intending to flat out refuse, and just goes back home to Lady Sneasler. He ends up seeing the glowing Pokemon (arceus) who “gave” him the Arc Trans in his dream that night, and it just repeats, “protect my champion” and Ingo is like “???? Who? Is that?”
It happens twice more before Arceus realizes how dense this idiot is and goes “oh my ME, the CHILD”
Ingo is hesitant at first to take her in but he??? does?? and he calls her Akari (it just felt like a good fit)
Yes this is a dad Ingo AU, and it literally took reading ONE FIC with dadgo in it for me to go “HOW COULD I FIT THIS IN THE AU?”
Anyways, Irida gives him the Arc Phone when he takes her in and it just stays in a drawer for ages while Akari grows up
fjhejkunhukchnek this text post is jumping all over the place in terms of chronology but jkfhkjef idc!
The first time Ingo runs into Melli again after adopting Akari, it’s just “there is a child on your back” “yes” “???????” “yes” and Melli doesn’t bring it up ever again, Ingo just has a daughter now, okay??
Time jump 9 or 10 years to the point the main part of the fic actually takes place in, the Arc phone eventually activated, giving Akari her mission.
Ingo doesn’t tell her immediately. At this point, Akari is like 12/13, and Ingo has become fairly protective of his daughter. But she finds the device and he explains to her what it is
After a week of constant nagging, he finally caves and she joins the Survey Corps (I know the game states “you look to be around 15″ but like I’m gonna ignore that and make it 13. Akari’s actual age is not known. They assume her to be around that age, so they’re like “yeah sure”)
Her first Pokemon is one of Lady Sneasler’s children. She literally hands just an egg to Akari. The Professor still gives her one of the PLA Starters because you cant battle with an EGG.
She chooses Oshawott, coz Dawn uses a water starter and also Dark type helps against Psychic type, which is good against Sneasel’s Fighting type and I want her to have a balanced team so technically Oshawott is her first mon?? Pax the Hisuian Sneasel becomes her main Pokemon so
She was raised in ancient Hisui rather than present Sinnoh, so she has some semblance of responsibility, but she still has a natural gift for catching Pokemon, plus with her dad being a great battler and battle strategist, she’s got that going for her, too
Also because Ingo raised her, she’s picked up some of his mannerisms, like the pointing, train terminology, saying incomprehensible (to other Hisuians) shit like “All Aboard”
No inside voice w Akari, she was raised by the loudest person in all of Unova
A few months after she’s joined the survey corps, Emmet arrives with the help of a certain time traveling pokemon, and said pokemon get’s injured
Akari finds him, thinking from a distance “was that my dad???” but realizes it’s not
She’s heard her father talk of a memory of “a man who looks like him, but in white” as well as that Zoroark often try to trap him w this
Naturally she is cautious, is this a zoroark? But he doesn’t ask for her father, and he has an injured pokemon, so she decides, “screw it, lets help him, Lady Sneasler will be able to tell if he’s a person”
And she is! After she does a double take because !! That is her Warden? But it’s not?? Is it??
“my dad is a warden, he’ll help your friend”
One of the funniest things is that, like, in the years they’ve been existing in the highlands, Ingo and Melli have somewhat become friends
mostly Melli just needed someone to complain to and Ingo was the only person around
he actually listens, too! unusual for melli
Melli has definitely developed some sort of crush and uses every excuse to be in his personal space
Ingo, despite not liking physical contact much (autism Ingo go brr), has grown accustomed to his fellow warden just draped over him in a dramatic fashion complaining about e v e r y t h i n g
Also personal headcanon time! I see Melli as AFAB nonbinary he/him. he uses cloth wraps to bind, and has trained his voice to be more masculine sounding
He often hangs out at Ingo’s house when his binding wraps have been washed and/or are drying because he knows Ingo will call him by his proper pronouns regardless
that info all adds up to a glorious scene that i am drawing where Emmet and Akari arrive at a time when Melli is Not Binding, but is draped over Ingo in his dramatic fashion.
Akari excitedly greets her dad and Melli (she def knows about Melli’s crush. she approved)
Meanwhile Emmet’s brain is just short circuiting while he takes everything in
Melli with blue hair, who is draped over Ingo
Ingo with silver eyes, who hates physical contact, who has been missing for 10 years, and who always liked the name Akari
Akari, who has blue-black hair and grey eyes, looks to be around ten years old, and has greeted Ingo as “Dad”
not to mention her Pokemon is clearly the pre-evo to Lady Sneasler, who’d greeted Ingo as though she were his Pokemon
He has no idea what is actually happening but suddenly he’s like “omg he has a family back here he is never going to want to come home why didn’t i look into if he had a family”
Meanwhile Ingo Does Not Recognize Him(tm) and upon seeing the injured Celebi, he just carefully takes it from a very still, very unresponsive Emmet and immediately starts to administer care to it
Emmet’s arrival in Hisui is what triggers the frenzy of the nobles
IT IS 10:50 PM I AM GOING TO BED BUT YEAH ENJOY ALL OF THOSE

Oh shoot the s/o being the hybrid!! I would live for that, please please tell us more about Emmet’s spider wife or Ingo’s Sneasler wife or whatever he’d like?!
cw: hybrid reader
▲Ingo▼
● A certain loneliness overcame the Warden of the mountain. Falling through a strange portal without any recollection of his past was a painful feeling. The kindness of the Pearl Clan was something that he greatly appreciated, and his Noble, Lady Sneasler provided him decent company within the cold ridges of the highlands. Ingo sat in the cold embrace of the snow with a sigh. It was his fault that he had forgotten his flute in his cabin, but he was in a rush to help the other Warden, Melli, with a large amount of aggressive Rotoms.
● It was then that you dared an appearance with the strange man. Ingo mistook you for his Noble at first, but apologised after realising his mistake. The light red upon his cheeks from the embarrassment of his error left you interested in the human man. You carefully helped him back to his cabin. He was ever so grateful for your assistance and offered you to stay there for the night, as the sun had begun to set. Taking it up, your friendship with him started.
● It was soon after you both took to spending time with each other. You lived within the highlands, too, finding yourself uninterested in joining a clan and unable to live with the settlers of Jublife for their distaste towards hybrids. Ingo was a kind, mannered man with a passionate in bonding and battling with pokemon. You admired his lack of fear towards pokemon that was often observed with humans. Conversations were long and mild, sometimes falling into deeper things as he contemplated just how he landed in Hisui.
● Through these times together, however, you found yourself admiring him in different ways. He was beautiful, you noted, shining silver eyes and a hardened form from the harsh life living in Hisui provided. The personality of a caring, duteous man would call out to anyone. A feeling of his warm, calloused hand gently scratching behind your ear. You were simply in love. The admission of these feelings let to a flustered Ingo, who ultimately spoke of his attraction towards you. It was with soft hold of your clawed hands that your relationship began.
● Ingo was a dedicated lover who made sure you always felt satisfied and happy. Though, you would prefer if he stopped staring at you with pleading eyes when he wanted to cuddle. Your purrs seemed to put him at ease the most, and he adored holding you close to himself. Your heightened body temperatures in comparison to a normal human's certainly had an appeal to him, too. your affection softened his stiff distance. It was clear he preferred to keep more to himself with other's watching, but when it was just the two of you, he was deeply needy.
● There were times your biological differences caused confusion, but you both worked to explain oddities to one another. He didn't understand why you needed to randomly get up and rush around, but he was easy to accept it. Though, he never seemed ready to accept your grooming of him or your cycles. The Warden remained with you through them, but seemed distressed by your whines and needs.
● You lived together in his cabin, maintaining some peaceful life there. Often times you helped him wrangle and take care of the kits that Lady Sneasler entrusted him with. It was cute to have such tiny creatures play about, but a dark feeling hit you one day from the peak of Mt. Coronet. Akari descended with a tall, noble pokemon behind her and offered something to Ingo. He was able to return from where he had come. In turn, he faced you with a gentle smile. “Would you join me, dearest?” His hand was held out to you. There was no chance that you wouldn't go with him.
▽Emmet△
○ Chargestone cave intrigued him, he would admit. It was home to numerous Joltiks and Galvantulas along a rare Tynamo. Such a place would naturally call to him, yet… He hummed as he descended lower into the cave. There were rumours of a secret population of hybrids that lived within the walls of the cave. Emmet was deeply fascinated with the idea of a Galvantula hybrid. All of his knowledge on them left him pondering how human genes would mix with the pokemon's own. He crept around carefully and mindfully. The arachnids weren't the biggest fans of unexpected guests within their dens. He still had to hold back his Galvantula from attacking unknown people when they entered his apartment.
○ Of course, you had become confused by the strange little man who entered your den. Emmet smiled and waved at you. He reeked of another Galvantula, but he seemed polite. “I am Emmet, and I want to know about,” he explained. You felt suspicious. Humans didn't like hybrids, from your understanding. Though, you would admit he seemed different from most other humans. “Mmm, nice web! How long did it take to spin?” he tried another approach. You felt excited from his compliment of your hard work.
○ A friendship was built between you and the odd human. He'd come visit your den and speak with you, and you never ate him because he entertained you with the weird things he had seen in the so-called subway. You were also gifted food from him, which you adored. His funny manner of speaking and goofy nature made you smile. He was not at all like the other Galvantula hybrids around the cave or the few other humans you had met.
○ It was soon after that you found yourself cocooning Emmet and sticking him in your web. He was silent with a smile still on his lips as you did it. Eventually, when you were done, you felt proud. Now the handsome man couldn't leave you. He was your mate, and you were tired of him leaving you. His head tilted as you left him bound in the webbing. “If you like me, darling, you could have just said so,” he cooed, “I like you, too! I like you a lot.” You grew flustered from his words. A screeched came from you when he managed to escape your cocoon. His arms came around you while he peppered your cheeks in kisses. You excused his destruction of your precious silk temporarily.
○ He was a busy, clingy lover who seemed to stick to your side. The gifts of food continued, alongside assorted human items that he thought you might enjoy. You met his brother, who seemed to just sigh when introduced. It wasn't anything mean, but just him dealing with Emmet's odd fancies. He did checkups on you, much like he seemed to do for his Galvantula and Joltiks, but you appreciated it. Though, you did get jealous when his attention was fully on his Galvantula. He was your mate, not hers. A chuckle came from him at your envy. You found him a reliable mate that was easy to adore.
○ Your biological differences were easy for him to overcome, as he was used to Galvantula behaviours. His flipping you onto your back and leaving you defenceless was not appreciated, however. It was nice to have a human mate not judge you or be disgusted by your habits. If anything, he was deeply interested. Though, you did not have his ease with overcoming the differences. Why didn't he want to stay in your cocoon all the time? You wished he would. He never did.
○ In the end, Emmet and you found yourself happily paired as mates. Your cycles were helped by him with his enthusiastic dedication, and you found yourself adoring his clingy affections and cooed praises. Ingo did scream at the news of becoming an uncle, though. Joltik niblings were not on his list of things expected in his life.

Sorry for sprinkling a bit of Angst into this Phione AU and have Ingo find the headkerchief Akari usually wears.
Ingo would switch into panic mode if its here so she must be nearby or it would be crushing for him. And Akari probably panicking as well as to what happened to her body?!
-
Also aside my sprinkle of angst it would be interesting when she recognized her as she is just sad and basically defeated. And just in that moment when he turns to look at his noisy passenger suddenly awfully quiet he notices that lost and kinda lonely look to her he saw when he first first met. Akari. When was just a lonely warden tasked to guide her to Lady Sneasler. Slowly gears start turning (what are gears and why does this word sound familiar) and he asks the Phione: “Akari…?”
OH. OH THIS IS SO GOOD!!!
I know we said that Ingo would figure out that this phione is Akari because she writes a message in the dirt, but this concept is SO GOOD
After days of looking, Ingo finds Akari’s satchel and headkercheif (and maybe even her scarf?) in the tide offshore, near the cliffs.
This is exactly what he didn’t want to find.
He picks them all up, as well as whatever items managed to spill out from the satchel - it's clear that all of these things had been in the water for at least a day or two - and starts calling out for her as he's frantic at the shoreline. He's trying to ignore the terrible fate that this is pointing to.
She wasn't strong enough to make it back to shore. Ingo knew he should have started teaching her how to swim sooner. Why couldn't she have simply waited for him to finish his shift, so he could go with her?
Ingo can't tell if it's been 5 minutes or an hour, but he's not finding anything, and no one is calling back to him. He's afraid of the terrible situation that is glaring right back at him. Exausted, he falls to his knees in the sand, allowing himself to start crying as he holds onto Akari's things.
In the collar of his coat, Akari is mortified as well - If these are her things, did she swap bodies with the phione she's now stuck as? Where is it? Did it drown? Is she stuck like this forever??
But Ingo is crying. It breaks her heart. He thinks she's gone, but she's not! She's right here!
One more time. She'll try one more time.
Akari is a bit hesitant to do it - she knows she hasn't exactly behaved well these last few days in her attempts to get Ingo to recognize her, and Ingo is currently grieving over the items in his hands. She doesn't know how he'll feel about this, but she has to try.
She swipes her things out of Ingo's hands. He appears indignant at first, which makes her nervous, but Akari does her best to put the headkercheif around her head, as well as wrap her scarf around her. And she pulls her waterlogged pokedex out of her satchel, flipping it to the first page where she's written her name. She points at the name several times with a flipper, then back at herself, with big, mournful eyes.
Please. Please understand.
Ingo stares at the pokedex, then her. Back at the pokedex one more time, then they stay on her, for a long time. The hardened indignance in Ingo's features melts into more of a sad hope, as he wipes at the tears in his eyes.
Moreso than the attire, he recognizes that look.
"Akari..?"

Thinking about ambassador animals that act as teaching animals for certain species, combining that with the sanctuary, the idea of Nobles and Wardens (re: this post reply by @skullmuffet)
Ingo and Lady Sneasler are the only still existing pair that can be legitimately called a Warden and their Noble - and it's a very special case considering that Ingo was adopted into the culture. To apply that to anyone else, or Pokemon not descended from the blessed Noble bloodline, would be an insult to the indigenous Sinnoh Clans, particularly when so far from their land. They want to preserve their history, not appropriate it!
However, the Hisuin Pokemon can be given a Ambassador title! The one most suited for helping spread the history and importance of preserving life gets bequeathed the title of Ambassador - Lady Sneasler is technically the Ambassador for her kind, though is more often referred by her Noble status.
In the place of Wardens, you have the Envoy - the person who works closest with the Ambassador, helping them spread awareness while ensuring their needs are all met and documenting whatever data points they come across. Differing from Wardens and Nobles, they're basically bonded pairs, so if one retires, so does the other!
Dawn was originally considered to be possible Envoy for an Ambassador, but she turned it down on account of trying to find herself and not being comfortable with the position.
Isadore ends up being the Envoy for his Hisuin Voltorb (child of Dawn's Electrode), with the added bonus of being a descendant of Warden Melli.
Clay would also be a good choice as an Envoy, though I've yet to decide on whether for Kleavor or Goodra.
Depot Agent Cameron accidentally becomes the Envoy of Hisuin Lilligant, but excels at it all the same.
I think Skyla would be a good Envoy for Hisuin Braviary, especially since it's an Alpha (seeing as Dawn's is an Alpha) and thus on the bigger side~
They might reach out to any other known descendants of Wardens who might be willing to work as Envoys, though that might not work if they're Gym Leaders who can't exactly pick up and move! (Though if a sister sanctuary is built in Sinnoh....)
This leaves Ursaluna, Wyrdeer, Basculeigon, Hisuin Typhlosion, and whichever doesn't pair with Clay currently without Envoy.
And alas, no Celestica Flutes for these duo. Though they may have something similar to the Wardens bracelet thing like what Ingo has!

[This one is longer than i intended, oops plz forgive me x0000]
The morning after the mamoswine incident, Norumi was called to meet with Irida, where she anticipated being sorely punished from nearly being trampled to death, if it wasnt for the warden saving her. Instead, she found the clan leader in a great mood, telling Rumi that Ingo was so impressed with Norumi's knowledge of pkmn that he requested HER to show him around the Icelands.
Evidently Irida had been trying to get the elusive warden to stay for a bit and become familiar with the Pearl homeland, but he never found a reason to stay and vanished shortly after he arrived. He'd even admitted to the leader that he had full intentions to set out this day... except something changed his mind. So, Irida proudly explained that he had finally accepted to stay for two weeks straight to truly become close to the Pearl lands... as long as Norumi would accompany him as his guide.
After going silent & nodding dumbly the entire time, shocked straight through with this turn of events, Irida sent Rumi off to pack a day bag and meet the warden at the gate for the first day of their excursion around the land.

When Norumi finished preparing & finally set out for the gate, she found Ingo and Lady Sneasler both waiting patiently there for her. The warden greeted her and casually produced a package, which he apologized for not having much time to prepare. After opening it, she found completely new writing implements and a fresh, untouched leather bound journal for her work. Ingo explained that though it wasn't much, he wanted to repay her for such an interesting time the day prior.
Completely unused to feeling emotions rattle her stoic heart, she hastily bowed & thanked him before packing her new belongings away & insisted they head out before they wasted the precious light of day OR before her building emotions could get the best of her.

They spent the following days with Norumi heading the party, introducing different areas & sharing info on the pkmn they crossed in the wilderness as well as jotting down observations and sketches from the beasties they passed. Then, Lady Sneasler was keeping alert & on the prowl for dangerous activity, occassionally going her own way before meeting up with the other two somewhere down the line. Meanwhile, the warden was listening with rapt attention and otherwise was focused on battling away any aggressive pkmn with ease, his team proving to be a quite a force to reckon with. They'd return to the village in the evening to go their separate ways & catch a few hours of sleep before setting out for somewhere new the next day.
The group also found themselves tucking away in some secluded, safe spot for their lunches, where they'd continue to talk about pkmn, of course, but also about themselves. Norumi learned about Ingo's case of troubling amnesia & the odd memories he was struggling to set straight in his own mind, of which she felt she just had try to and help him connect with his forgotten life!... even if she didn't know how. She also became incredibly aware that he had an untapped wealth of pkmn knowledge and she was keen to learn as much as possible from him as she was in learning about the warden's personal life, as well.
Likewise, Ingo enjoyed hearing of, as Norumi herself called it, her rather uneventful existence. He could easily see she wanted nothing more than to experience everything the world had to offer, but felt trapped in the Icelands under the expectations of her family and clan. He sat quietly & listened to her stories, trying to find a way to propose an idea that would benefit them both...
Anyways! Together, they spent their days learning & laughing, with Norumi wearing a rare smile more often than not while being the warden's travelling companion.

On the last day of his time in the Icelands, during lunch, Ingo extended Norumi the offer to accompany him on his travel back to the Highlands and to Jubilife Village where his protégé was living, or anywhere else life might take them. Ingo was quite aware he still had much to learn from her and though Lady Sneasler was almost always at his side, the warden was fairly lonely and would've been thrilled to have Norumi around. Plus, she'd be able to escape the village tucked away in the coldest part of Hisui and finally get the chance to see the world and observe so many different spices of pkmn, assuredly filling up the rest of her journal in no time at all.
Though she found her heart thudding in her chest at the thought of leaving her old life behind and spending her days besides the warden himself... Norumi quickly realized the implications of them both leaving together and how it could cause immense drama in both of their lives. She also could not shake the dreadful fear that he too would quickly find her weird or boring, before she simply became an outcast again, just in a different place rather than the Pearl village.
Unable to force herself to commit to the biggest choice in her boring, mundane life, Norumi sadly turned down the warden's invitation, telling him she'd love to but it just wasn't the right time. Ingo still managed a smile & told her the offer would always be open to her, should she ever change her mind.

That night upon returning to the village, Ingo thanked Norumi deeply for her company and all the knowledge she shared with him. He found himself having a hard time saying good night, as it meant they'd both be parting for good after spending two solid weeks at each other's side. She too struggled to move herself and fought back a tightness capturing her throat as the warden turned to leave in the direction of the hut he'd been staying in.
He told her he'd hope to see her when he next made a return trip to the Icelands and hoped she'd reconsider his offer, but she didn't speak up. Norumi could only nod, fearing if she'd open her mouth, she'd start crying the minute she'd finally say good bye.
Instead, she quickly rushed away to her family's hut, where she threw herself under the covers, not being able to stop herself from all the stupid useless feelings she had pouring out from some deep dark place inside her. After slowly calming herself & letting the tears flood from her eyes, she decided she'd try to intercept the warden before he left & either compel him to stay longer or to force herself to agree to his generous offer and set out with him.
She eventually drifted off to a restless sleep and when she woke early the next morning, Norumi quickly dressed and ran down to the village gate, just as she'd done for the last two weeks, hoping to stop the warden before he left. As morning light trickled on into the brightest part of day, Norumi came to the realization that either the warden wasn't coming or had already left.
She ran to see Irida, who informed the poor girl that Ingo had left the previous night in a quiet, glum sort of mood. Norumi felt the cold grip of remorse catch in her chest as Irida repeated the warden's farewell, including the statement that he had no other reasons to stay on at this point. Evidently, the man hastily left that same night, not even waiting for daylight to set out from the chilled Icelands.

Norumi went back to her family's hut and stayed indoors for a few days, too overcome with guilt & sorrow to want to move, as she looked through the pages of the journal she filled out at the warden's side, only now realizing that she didn't care what anyone else thought... she just wanted to be around him again.
[Final parts coming shortly...]
