Also gonna ramble a but about the pokemon themselves bc I love them (all these pokemon were caught in the first evolution and evolved to their final except for Missy and Trouble)
In order of capture:
Chandelure (Lavender) was Ingo's starter. She just kinda followed him home one day from a festival bc she thought his soul was pretty. Drayden was very concerned about letting Ingo keep a ghost type so young (like 9 years old) bc they have been known to feed of their trainer's souls but in the end he agreed mostly bc she refused to leave
Emmet's starter was Eelektross (Taser). Emmet actually was searching for a pokemon that day which is why the twins were in Chargestone Cave. Taser was having a casual battle with another wild pokemon and Emmet just kinda stepped in and started giving him directions. Taser was grumpy about it at first but then realised Emmet had good strategies and together they won the battle
When they became old enough to go on their pokemon journeys Drayden gifted them twin Klinks which were quickly named as Gear (Ingo's) and Station (Emmet's) (the train special interest was already strong in these boys). These would have been their starters had they not made friends with Lavender and Taser first. Emmet often introduces them the wrong way round as "Station and Gear" and Ingo hates it
Ingo's Crustle (the only one I haven't thought of a nickname for) was caught bc it was the only pokemon in the area that didn't scatter when Ingo yelled a little too loud in the middle of the forest and Emmet immediately demanded Ingo battle it for its bravery
Emmet's Galvantula (Goldie) was caught bc Emmet really really really wanted a Joltik (his favourite pokemon) and caught the first one he came across
Emmet caught his Durant (Stoker) after getting lost in Twist Mountain. He'd somehow lost sight of Ingo and Elesa and was panicking, crying and nonverbal. Stoker found him like this and sat with him until he was found. Stoker continued to follow them to make sure Emmet didn't get lost again. When Emmet noticed, he challenged it to a battle and caught it
After defeating Drayden's gym (and don't think he went easy on them bc they're family), Drayden gifted Ingo his own Haxorus' egg and gifted Emmet a Plume fossil which became their Haxorus (Freight) and Acheops (Piston)
After Freight hatched she immediately wandered off and got lost. They ended up finding her being mother henned by a Drillbur (Quake) who demanded she battle them to make sure they're good enough for Freight. She got emotionally attached and joined them
As young Depot Agents Ingo and Emmet were tasked with catching whoever was tipping over the trash cans around Gear Station. Ingo found a Trubbish (Daisy) and offered her a job cleaning up the trash around the station instead of making messes
As Subway Bosses the twins were widely known for being excellent trainers. This is why the local pokemon shelter reached out to them about a temporary placement for a Boldore (Missy) and Gurdurr (Trouble). They'd both been forced to evolve by their old trainers before they were ready and now weren't very well behaved around anyone that tried to take care of them, scared of the same thing happening again. They couldn't be released since they didn't have the survival skills they needed for the wild. Missy and Trouble were supposed to be placeholder names just for the short time theyvstayed with the twins but they stuck and they all got emotionally attached, so they took them in permanently
(This does leave Ingo with 7 pokemon, later 8 with his Alakazam, and Emmet with 6, tho Emmet's endless army of Joltik make up for that. The "6 is a team" thing is more of an etiquette thing and a league rules thing. Carrying more than 6 pokeballs at once is allowed, it's just customary to only use 6 if you enter a battle)
I have more to say about Ingo's Hisui pokemon too
🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿
Knowing all of their mons' origins is so interesting and very wholesome! Almost everything is fluffy and sweet, a nice change of pace from what I've been daydreaming about 😅.
Y'know, other than some occasional angst here and there, and the Hisui situation, the huge wholesome-ness percentage in your Poké paracosm reminds me of another friend's paracosm. While there might be some problems here and there and a hint of trauma a treat, her paracosm is mostly consist of wholesome slice of life stuff. Also, a lot of things in this info dump are so cute :>

💭🔮✨ THE ULTIMATE DAYDREAMER’S GUIDE ✨🔮💭
Tumblr media Tumblr media
💭 What is it?
This is a guide both for those in the Daydreaming Community, or want to learn more about it. It is meant to be an archive of all things relating to MaDD & ID, and is curated/run/owned by yours truly!
💭 Can I link this on my blog/post/etc?
Yes!! The whole reason this doc was made was so that it can be passed around as a general resource, so you are more than welcome to link it anywhere you want. The same goes for anything linked within the doc itself -- not that I own any of it anyway lol.
💭 Can we give suggestions?
Suggestions are highly encouraged & appreciated! I am only one person running this doc, after all, and will not be able to uncover/document everything without some help. You can send me stuff through DMs or my ask box.
💭 What happened to the original doc?
EDIT 3/27/24: the original document had gotten marked as spam by Google. This issue has now been resolved, and it's back up & running! The backup will remain, but not updated as often as the main doc will be. Sorry, I know it's a huge mess 😖 links have been updated to the main/original doc.
I wish I knew! It was brought to my attention that it had gotten flaged for review for...some reason. I've tried figuring out how to request a review for it, but it won't work. So I've resorted to just making a new doc. Sucks, but that's all I can do right now.
Because this is a whole new doc, I'm going to be tagging some people so the word gets spread a little bit. Sorry!

Ingo's Hisui pokemon!!
(Again, all pokemon caught in their first evolution except Express and Polar and all evolved to their last)
During the early days of settling into the Pearl Clan, Ingo has no idea what an alpha pokemon is, and no one can explain it to him properly bc language barriers so when he sees an alpha Gligar (Em) he's just "wow that's a big fuckin Gligar" with no concern for the danger. He first sees Em from within the settlement, trying to hunt some food in the distance. He's with several other smaller Gligar who for some reason aren't letting him get close to the prey. Em is very brave and tries his luck stealing food from the settlement, which causes some panic. Ingo quickly sees he has a broken wing and is probably considered weak by his own kind for it, even as an alpha, which is why they treated him that way. Ingo throws him some of his own food much to the horror of the clan members. Em continues to return to the settlement and steal food from Ingo after that, eventually trusting him enough to let him look at his wing and help heal him. Em decides Ingo's back is very comfy actually and he's gonna stay there and cling to it now. Ingo names him because his smile reminds him if someone he can't quite place
Ingo and Em are exploring Hisui so Ingo can get used to its geography when they end up in the Coastlands. They're foraging and are not so subtly being followed by a Tangela (Trip) that keeps snatching up berries Ingo (definitely not intentionally) drops. She's noticed bc she keeps tripping over he own vines. Em gets annoyed with her and tries to scare her off. Ingo scolds Em and challenges Trip to a battle instead of scaring her. Em thinks that once the battle is over Trip will leave but much to his jealously, despite Em's victory, Ingo congratulates Trip's bravery and invites her to join them (Em and Trip eventually become besties I promise)
It's after this point that Ingo is introduced to Jubilife and gets some pokeballs from Laventon
A Machoke (Express Train, Express for short) sees Ingo training with Em and Trip in the Icelands often and takes it upon himself to challenge them every time he sees them. One time Ingo tells him it will have to be their last battle for a while as he is going to the Highlands to be a warden. Express decides to go with him bc he'll miss the battles too much
Lady Sneasler is baffled by Ingo's lack of survival skills (aka fondness for pokemon) but she wants him to be happy so if he wants a pokemon he can have this baby Abra (Motor) she found that was causing disturbance in the Ursaring territory. Abra don't live in the Highlands anyway it's her own fault she ended up here maybe she should have stayed in the Fieldlands if she didn't want to be a gift
Ingo is still new to navigating the caves in the Highlands when he decides to put torches in Wayward Cave. He has no idea where he's going and gets lost. He sees a group of Nosepass and forgets to be cautious around Hisuian pokemon. He does his pointing pose and asks if they can help him out. Most raise their defences but one (Compass) points back as if challenging him. She leads him out of the cave. Ingo returns later to complete his torch trail and Compass sees him and thinks he got lost again so tries to show him the exit. Ingo uses the direction to place his torches. Compass decides if this silly man is going to keep getting lost in caves she might as well follow him so she can help him out
A Magneton lands in Hisui through a space-time distortion. It is disoriented and wanders out of the distortion by accident. Ingo is nearby and sees it panicking when the distortion closes and it has nonjdea where it is. He tries to call out to it to calm it down but it keeps zooming around the area and poking at the ground trying to find a way back home. Ingo sees the thundertone that was knocked out of the distortion before Polar does and he calls out too late. Polar accidentally touches the stone and evolves into Magnezone, fuelling its panic more bc it did not expect to evolve at that moment. It eventually runs out if energy and Ingo tries to comfort it, telling it he is also misplaced and if it would make Polar feel better, they can travel and search for home together
(Polar ultimately decides to stay in Hisui when Ingo returns home. It doesn't know if it and Ingo come from the same place/time and it is too afraid to be ripped from all that is familiar again. Motor is the only one that goes with him)
:0 I like how some of his Hisui mons are named after snippets of his life/time period prior to travelling back in time; especially Em! The nickname is so cute, but also sad in context 💀. I also like how two of his mons started out as rivals/enemies, but became besties over time, makes me think about the Jellyfish Duo xbxhdhsjsbdjdhhsxhxj.

Kill them with kindness? Wrong. Reciprocated paracosm ramble attack
It's hard to know when to start bc time travel shenanigans but I guess we'll go chronologically the earliest and explain the different clans and cultures of Hisui
So Volo is native to Hisui, part of a culture that call themselves the Celestica people who have been there since even before Diamond and Pearl settled (this is the case with most Ginko merchants and also Cogita. Other Celestica people live dotted around Hisui and generally get on well or don't interact with the clans)
The reason he knows about Arceus and Giratina in the first place is because they were the ones worshipped as "Almighty Sinnoh" in his culture's history
The clans have mixed origins of native Hisuians (those who once called themselves Celestica and also other native cultures) and other settlers of untracable origin
And obviously much later on the Galaxy Team is a mishmash of people from Kanto, Johto, Alola, Galar and Hoenn.
I kinda took the concept of the Kanto-Johto war theory and pushed it back on the timeline so the reason the Galaxy Team formed in the first place was Kanto and Johto refugees escaping their war-torn homeland. Along the way they happened to pick up some other region's people as well
(Prior to the war Kanto and Johto were one region but fighting broke out in Johto's attempt to be a separate region. Johto wins. This is not a common occurance in this world as the regions generally get along very well and wars are rare. I should also clarify regions are basically countries. There's some minor differences to how real work countries work and interact but they'd take a while to explain)
Hisui up until this point in history has been pretty closed off compared to a lot of other regions due to its status as an island, most inter-region contact being done within the Ginko Guild for trading, so this is really the first time the native cultures have been widely exposed to other regions
I try my best to base Diamond/Pearl's culture off of the Ainu people. The Galaxy Team is a mix of British, Japanese, and Hawaiian culture in my head bc of all the different people from the respective regions. The Celestica people are pretty much my own made up culture tho, based on what little we see from Cogita and the various ruins in PLA
🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿
:0 The additional world building for the Pokémon world is very interesting!! I have not heard of the Johto/Kanto war theory before, but I like how you incorporate it into your paracosm 👀, especially with how rare wars are in it. Overall, really great counter attack to all my rambling
I wonder how your Emmet is doing in your world while his bro is gone.
