Summary: A little thing I wrote because I have too much attachment to Randall

-----
When Randall was a little boy, he wanted to be a superhero when he grew up. He spent his Saturdays watching Batman and Superman cartoons and reading Marvel comics. He wanted to save the day when he grew up.
Unfortunately, no amount of spider bites or sitting too close to the TV in the hopes of messing with his DNA gave him superpowers, so he had to look for different ways to save the day.
Volunteering with the Boy Scouts was a step in the right direction but he wanted to do more. He wanted to do more than help out at the community garden and sell questionable baked goods (though he still helped his mother with the upkeep of that garden and took baked goods around his neighborhood from time to time). He wanted to be a hero. He wanted to stop the bad guys, to save the day, and all the glory that came with it.
After 9/11, his path became clear. He was a little more mature by then. He knew the world wasn’t so black and white as “good guys” and “bad guys”, but there were still some pretty clear lines in all the gray. Going overseas to fight terrorists seemed like the clearest line and he was happy to fight for it. He was still a freshman in high school at the time but it was easy to get in the spirit of enlisting due to regular visits from recruiters and the size of their JROTC program. As soon as he graduated, he enlisted and was sent overseas.
He would’ve gone career if his mother hadn’t asked him to stop after a few years. He wasn’t a “mama’s boy” per se but he couldn’t say no to this ask. She meant too much to him, especially after his father passed. After he left the service, he picked up the mantle in the next best place: local law enforcement.
Now, there was nothing wrong with the APD. Well, there was a lot wrong with the police in general but Randall liked to think he was one of the good ones. He followed the rules to the letter, did his best to stay active in the community when he was off hours, even made the occasional trip back to his old schools to do talks about the police. The paycheck left a bit to be desired but it was all in the name of doing something good.
He just couldn’t help but want more. Serving overseas had left a mark on him, a thirst for the Bigger Picture that couldn’t be quenched by patrolling local streets and standing on the sidelines of private security.
Then, came the day he met Cordell Walker.
Walker was already a bit of a legend, though he’d only been a ranger for five years. He was known for being a bit of a spitfire and had a tendency to  break the rules when it came to his investigations. The brass didn’t seem to mind too much though, considering his impressive closure rate. According to everything Randall heard, every case that crossed Walker’s desk got solved.
He didn’t quite believe all the rumors until he met the man himself.
They were trying to bust a street gang in Randall’s area and the Rangers came in to try and nip the situation in the bud before the gang could expand their territory. He wasn’t happy to hear about this at first; Rangers tended to steamroll over the police and take all the credit later. But, Walker was polite and took everyone’s words seriously, from the police chief to the rookie recruits. “I just want to get the job done right,” he said. “Now, let’s get these bastards.”
He wanted to be in a position like that, he realized, watching Walker work. He wanted to be someone who could do the important work without all the stops at his level. He wanted to be able to lead the charge, save the day, stop the bad guys. Just like Walker.
Randall was lucky enough to run alongside him during the final raid. It sounded stupid, but he thought Walker had turned slapping cuffs on someone into an art form.
After all that, he knew exactly where he was going next: he was going to be a Texas Ranger.
It was a long road to get there. Training to be a Trooper was no cakewalk and even after he got his badge, he needed a couple of promotions before he could qualify for Ranger work. It was a challenge, but one he was more than up for. He knew he could do the work; he just had to get it done. And while he proved himself to his superiors time and time again, he looked forward to the day he could stand on equal footing with Walker. During his brief bouts of down time, he even fantasized about being his partner. Never for long; getting his Ranger star was about so much more than Walker’s approval. But it was nice to think about.
It took eight long years of hard work, but Randall got his Ranger star. And it was everything he thought it would be. Standing up there with the other inductees, his mother in the audience, his star glinting under the overhead lights- It was perfect. There was even a barbeque after and he got to talk to Walker on even footing for the first time. He couldn’t ask for anything more.
Well, maybe he could. He knew it would take a while, but there was a part of him that couldn’t wait to see some real action. He wanted to start tackling the worst of the worst in the great state of Texas and make a name for himself. He might not be the legend that Walker was, but he wanted to be up there with the greats.
When Captain James personally gave him an assignment tailing Walker as part of a security detail in an investigation against North Side Nation, he could hardly believe it. Working side-by-side with (or, well, right behind) his role model? This was bigger than a dream come true. This was a chance to prove to himself and everyone else that he really was made for this job.
He was a little surprised it took Walker three days to catch on to him, but with the assassination attempt and his partner being nearly AWOL, the man probably had other things on his mind than non-descript trucks following him. Randall did have to out himself to stop Walker from being caught by the NSN guys Micki was working with, but it all worked out. He even got to take out one of the bastards with Walker; that was one for the scrapbook for sure.
He didn’t get that many big assignments after that. Mostly patrols and handling lower-level cases. Randall wasn’t insulted by it. He knew James saw potential in him; it just wasn’t every day a bombshell came across your desk.
Unless, Randall noticed, you were Walker.
“I swear, every time I turn around that guy’s got himself into another mess,” Randall’s partner grumbled one night on a stakeout. He couldn’t remember how the conversation came up but after a year on as a Ranger, he couldn’t exactly argue.
As much as he still looked up to Walker, he didn’t envy the man’s poor luck. It seemed every criminal in Texas had it out for him and there was always a fire to put out. It made for interesting office gossip for sure, but he didn’t find himself yearning for that level of prestige anymore. If being one of the greats meant putting a target on your back, Randall was happy to leave that to other people. He would take his possibly pointless stakeouts over getting kidnapped and tortured by terrorists any day.
“I doubt he goes looking for trouble,” Randall said, defending his former idol. “But I can’t say I envy James. I wonder how many favors he’s pulled trying to keep Walker on the payroll.”
“More than he’d pull for either of us.”
Randall couldn’t argue with that either. “Well, unlike Walker, I follow the rules, so you’ll be stuck with me for a while yet,” he said.
“Hey, I’ll take you over some trainwreck rookie any day.”
Randall smiled and sipped his coffee. Yeah, he was pretty happy with his slightly less extraordinary position on the relative sidelines.

Interesting interview with CW President Mark Pedowitz. Roswel, New Mexico is not mentioned, but he talks about programming decisions, straight to series orders, the next fall schedule etc. Another thing he mentions is, that he's happy that The CW will air a few more "family oriented" shows (like the Kung Fu and Walker reboots, and Superman & Lois). If you squint, RNM's very much a "(found) family oriented" show - with aliens. ;)
Pedowitz also mentions, that they have several slots to fill for the upcoming fall, and the 2022 spring schedule, but they haven't made all the decisions yet. While we might not hear about a S4 renewal very soon, this gives me a fairly good feeling tbh. RNM's an established show, it's comparatively "cheap" to make, they have great tax incentives in New Mexico, and the show is doing overall well enough in ratings and international sales.
—————————————————————————————
Mark Pedowitz, broadcast's longest-tenured chief, has no regrets about delaying the start of The CW's fall season.
His network (like Fox), made the decision last summer to wait until the new year to bring back scripted originals like Riverdale and All American. The late start afforded productions more time to get used to filming during a pandemic, where episodes take longer (and cost more) to complete. It also.
While the January fall launch gives the network a backlog of originals to air without interruption (provided the pandemic doesn't have other plans), it also delayed decisions like the network's traditional mid-January slate of early renewals.
Now, as The CW prepares to formally launch its fall season on Sunday with the returns of Batwoman and All American, Pedowitz talks with The Hollywood Reporter about how the network is plotting a return to business as usual, including more straight to series orders, developing shows with heart and, yes, the future of all things DC.
Let's pretend we're at TCA: When will you bring Supernatural back?
If they boys want to come back, we're ready to have them. (Laughing.)
The CW traditionally hands out early renewals during this time of year. Where are you in those conversations, especially since your season doesn't formally start until Sunday with Batwoman.
I'm just getting into those discussions. I came from a studio background and understand the importance of early pickups — it allows for better preparation. We're a few weeks away but I need to finish up some internal discussions.
ABC, NBC and CBS all returned originals late last year. In hindsight, any regrets holding the season start to January
No. Once we said it, we felt it was the right thing to do. It would have been too patchworky. At this point, it gets longer and longer and you're waiting to get back into some form of what's your finished product going to look like? I have no regrets. I just wish it didn't take this long to happen.
How much has The CW's late start to the season — originals return next starting Sunday night — impacted the way you conduct business, both in terms of renewals and the negotiations for pilot orders, etc.?
We did this strategically and made choice in the summer because we were concerned with misleading affiliates, the consumer and the ad sales community that we were going to have a fall schedule in the fall and felt that wasn't the right thing. We found some successes with some of the acquisitions, like Stargirl, Coroner and World's Funniest Animals. Some of those are good linear, a lot of them were great on digital. Our digital presence was kept alive because of that. That said, our fall had Supernatural. And once that came back, we were doing [ratings] numbers we were doing pre-pandemic.
We are interested in seeing how people react. It's not just a covid issue right now; it's also the uncertainty in the country with news being as much of a viewing choice as anything else. We're going to have to see how it all plays. We're getting a little colder of a start than we would have if we rolled out of summer. On a digital basis, we're fine. On a linear basis, it's gotten harder.  On the development basis, nothing has really changed. I think straight to series [orders] will be done again this year — just for financial purposes so people can get going as quickly as possible — by the end of January. That could change because the surge could change. But there is a bit more flexibility to it. We're still on the same schedule: we have to talk to advertisers in some form in May about what things look like for the following fall. We're hoping that the following fall is closer to a normalized fall — like 2019 was. Do I think it will be completely that way? No. Do I think it will be much more that than not that? Yes.
So, you'll be focused largely on straight to series orders instead of pilot pickups this season?
We haven't seen a lot of development yet. Lost Boys and Maverick [ordered to pilot last year], because of what occurred, are back in contention as development, not because they got picked up to pilot last year. They're in the mix with many other things, including dramas from Ava DuVernay, Black Lightning spinoff Painkiller, Wonder Girl, PowerPuff Girls, The 4400. The scripts are coming in slowly. Right now, I've seen just a handful of scripts and I'm waiting for others to come in so I can make some decisions. They're in contention for how we pick up pilots or direct to series.
Last year, you went straight to series on Superman & Lois and Walker largely out of concerns that there could be a WGA strike. Why is this an attractive model for some development this year?
A lot of is dependent upon what we're dealing with in terms of production needs with ongoing series in a sense. The other is what's the economic impact. Bypassing pilots is short-term less money than going straight to series. We look at the economic impact and if we believe enough in these shows and that will determine the decision.
With two veteran shows — Supergirl and Black Lightning — ending, how much more room on the schedule do you anticipate you'll have? You're making straight to series decisions based on a slate that will have just gotten under way.
We'll have space for three or four shows for next season, 2021-22. We're sorry to see Supergirl and Black Lightning go, but we're happy to have Naomi, Wonder Girl and Painkiller in the hopper right now. From The CW-DC/Arrow-verse — whatever we're calling it these days! — I think we'll be OK for the next generation. The Flash is new leader with Arrow gone and we're hoping Superman & Lois and Batwoman step up there for a new grouping of shows.
How much more life is left in veterans like Flash and Legends as you develop the next wave of the Arrow-verse? Especially when you have Greg Berlanti doing a big-budget Green Lantern and DC world at HBO Max and J.J. Abrams doing Justice League Dark for the streamer?
And they have Matt Reeves' Gotham PD there, too. It always makes me feel good when we're copied. (Laughing.) There's a lot of life left. Greg and I speak quite frequently. I'm not that concerned.   You recently passed on Green Arrow and the Canaries. Why? Timing. We couldn't quite figure out a model similar to Stargirl and couldn't quite get there. We were hoping to have it start at HBO Max and take a second run on The CW, but we couldn't figure out how to do it and couldn't make it all work.   Last year's pilots Lost Boys and Maverick are back in the development stage. What's the status of The 100 prequel? The 100 prequel is still in discussions at the studio level. I'd like to see it happen. I'm comfortable with where the prequel spinoff episode we did this past season. It's not a pilot; the earliest that would happen would be probably summer 2022, if that happens. We may end up deciding that we can't put the pieces together and it won't happen.
Speaking of the studio level, Warner Bros. is in the midst of a massive change as Channing Dungey is replacing Peter Roth. How does the changeover at Warners — which co-owns The CW alongside CBS Studios — impact the network? What kind of conversations have you had with Channing about their content pipeline since Warners is your main supplier?
Peter and I had remarkable partnership and relationship, and that will be missed. Channing worked with me when I ran ABC Studios and we've known each other for a long time. She's very supportive of The CW and the shows that go on The CW. There are shows she'd like to keep there and get on the air there. Obviously, her priorities may be a little different than Peter's. We are all working toward the same goal.
How has the pandemic and our current state of the world changed the types of programs you're looking to make? Can you do a show like Maverick, set on a college campus, during a pandemic? Do you still make dystopian stuff, especially if it's expensive?
Maverick is still in contention. I just had this conversation with our development team. I've come to the point right now about hope. About safe havens and a place where you can just ease your tension a little bit. One of the nice things about Superman & Lois, Walker and Kung Fu is at the end of the day — despite all the superhero/genre and Texas Ranger stuff — all three shows are about family, which is an important aspect going forward. You'll see Superman in a way you've never seen him before. And you'll see Jared Padalecki in a way you've never seen before. After watching all eight of Wentworth, I switched to Bridgerton because I wanted something light and fluffy. And I found Ted Lasso a worthy successor to Schitt's Creek — it gave me a hug and made me feel good. It made me remember that the human condition is not always bleak. That's where my head's at these days and I'm hoping development is more hopeful than it is dark and dismal.
Have you considered keeping production on your scripted shows going through the summer given the current covid surge that's happening this winter and the uncertainty in terms of vaccinations and new, more contagious strains?
We work with the studios on episodic orders and when the shows would end, when they can revert back to a normalized schedule — some can do more easily than others — so we could be there for next October with a more normal schedule. We've sat with the studios and our production partners and have figured this out. Barring catastrophe, we think we're in good shape.
The CW is a joint venture between Warner Bros. and CBS Studios. Since both studios have prioritized their own studios, how much longer does it make sense for them to operate a linear network?
That's a question for them. for the moment, both parent companies are happy with how this is set up. They recognize the value of The CW brand for selling their shows in digital aftermarket.
Interview edited for length and clarity.

<h1>The Outstanding Background of the Iconic Ford F-150</h1><br>
A red 1980 Ford F-150 Custom-made While the Ford F-150's history officially began in 1975, earlier vehicles prepared for America's favored vehicle|Ford You can question almost anything concerning cars and trucks and also trucks, however one point is difficult to say: Ford F-150 is the indisputable heavyweight champion of American roadways. No car has actually been more crucial or offered more designs given that this pickup's launching in 1975. As of 2017, the F-150 and its heavy-duty equivalents topped the sales charts for 35 straight years. That's quite a run, and also these vehicles defeated the competitors in their sector for also longer (40 successive years). But the F-Series pick-ups didn't come out of no place during the 1970s. Ford launched its legendary pick-up back in 1948, just after World War II. Prior to the F-1 debut that year, the automaker's vehicles were merely changed vehicles. The 1948 version changed that, and also the F-Series continued its evolution right into the 21st century. Nowadays, the F-150 as well as durable models sport one of the most innovative tech and also indoor comfort that pickup have ever seen. It definitely really did not begin that way. Right here are 25 pictures of Ford's F-Series pickups-- from the earliest days of its precursors to the most up to date off-road conqueror. 1. Ford Design T vehicle 1925 Ford Version T vehicle 1925 Ford Model T truck|The Henry Ford To discover the beginnings of Ford vehicles, we need to go completely back to the 1910s, when the car manufacturer converted the Model T into a pickup. As the picture reveals, this car was bit greater than a roadster with a flatbed fitted over the back wheels. However, even such a standard setup obtained products relocating the early days of consumer transportation. 2. Greater utility in the 1930s 1932 Ford Roadster pick-up By 1932, Ford trucks boosted considerably in the utility division|Ford While there was apparent allure for a Version T truck, Ford improved upon the concept with the Version An as well as Version B. The bed was longer and the weight distribution much better, so there was lots of charm for truck customers during the Anxiety, specifically with the arrival of the truck's V8 engine. Yet it was still a roadster and also had its share of restrictions. 3. Signing up with the 1940s war initiative 1941 Ford Express Ford vehicles became part of the war initiative after 1941|Ford The hardtop, long-bed truck idea took form by the late 1930s, as well as by the time 1941 designs appeared, there were a number of alternatives for consumers. Among the choices were new V6 engines to accompany the V8 and also four-cylinder options. Ford borrowed both the grille styling and the underlying platform from cars and trucks below, and also launched additional truck plants by 1941 in case the USA went into the battle. Customer manufacturing ended for numerous years after the Pearl Harbor intrusion. 4. Birth of the F-Series 2 men wearing cowboy hats lean on a red Ford F-1 vehicle as it rests parked before a home Ford F-1 truck from its debut year|Ford Complying With The Second World War, Ford released its first brand new vehicle system with eight various models. From the half-ton F-1 to the three-ton F-8, consumers had plenty of choices. Engine choices ranged from a 95-horsepower V6 to a 100-horsepower V8. F-Series vehicles began with a simple, utilitarian look as well as higher practicality than its predecessors. 5. F-100 marks a new generation A light eco-friendly 1953 Ford F-100 1953 Ford F-100|Ford In 1953, Ford commemorated its 50th anniversary with the introduction of 2nd generation F-Series models. The front grille altered considerably (brand-new engines likewise arrived), however this redesign was extra considerable. An enhanced V8 engine, longer dimensions, better presence, and also transmission were introduced. So were hood accessories as well as the nomenclature we identify today: F-100 and F-250 changed the three lightest pick-ups in the schedule. 6. Even more power for 1954 A red 1956 Ford F-100 with tractor and also integrate drives via a field 1956 Ford F-100 with tractor as well as combine|Ford Updates for F-Series vehicles continued throughout the second generation While the wraparound windshield supplied enhanced presence for drivers, updated power specs increased their choices on the job site. 6 cylinder engines maxed out at 115 steeds by 1954, while the V8 engine forged ahead to 130 horse power. Even more power visited the 1956 design year, with the F-Series V8 engine delivering up to 173 equines, according to Edmunds. 7. F-Series third generation. Starting in 1959, Ford began offering 4x4 in manufacturing facility versions. 8. Fourth generation Ford trucks. 1963 Ford F-250 sits parked on a rocky surface 1963 Ford F-250|Ford With four-wheel drive ability and also over 200 horsepower showing up by 1965, 4th generation Ford vehicles proceeded the march to the modern age. Debut of the Ranger 1967 Ford F-100 Ranger 1967 F-100 Ranger|Ford Beginning with the F-Series's fifth generation, vehicle customers might choose from three trims: base, custom, and Ranger. Selecting the Ranger indicated carpet floorings, a standard chrome grille, and also much more comfortable seats. By 1970, prior to fifth generation designs finished their run, a fourth trim (XLT) went into the picture. 10. An upgraded V8 engine now delivered up to 220 horsepower. At the same time, the relentless restyling of the grille proceeded apace. 11. A giant sixth generation 1973 Ford F-Series pick-up Sight of a Ford F-Series on the Louisville, Kentucky production line, circa 1973|Ford Sixth-generation (1973 to 1979) F-Series trucks were exceptional for a number of factors, but we'll begin with the arrival of SuperCab for 1974. Dodge had originated the pick-up with extra seats, and also Ford really felt obliged to respond. Yet another V8 engine got in the picture as well. But America's favored vehicle will be birthed. 12. Birth of the Ford F-150 A red 1975 Ford F-150 rests parked before a construction site 1975 Ford F-150|Ford Why was the F-150 needed? By the mid-1970s, consumers found themselves caught between the not-quite-capable-enough F-100 as well as the magnificent F-250. This design bridged the gap starting in 1975, as well as about one third of F-Series sales were comprised of F-150s that year. While America commemorated its bicentennial in 1976, F-Series trucks started their run atop the sales listing that continues to today. 13. The decisive seventh generation 1980 Ford F-150 Ranger rests parked atop a mountain F-150 Ranger from the 1980 design year|Ford To put the seventh generation's effect in point of view, we turn to chronicler James W. Wagner. "The 1980 model was a breakthrough generation," Wagner claimed. "It was all new-- most likely the greatest modification in 40 years-- and had a strong emotional appeal with the twin I-beam front suspension. It seems from that factor on, things truly went Ford's way regarding trucks were worried." 14. Custom-made packages and also fatality to F-100 F-150 from 1985 rests parked in front of a lake By 1985, a new focus on style and also-- more importantly-- lifestyle had gotten in the picture|Ford Beginning in the very early 1980s, Ford vehicle consumers could style their trucks with customized paint packages. The new focus on way of living motivated promotional photos like this one showcasing a family members delighting in a day by the lake. These trucks supplied at the workplace and also fit enough to enjoy after hours, Ford suggested through its advertising and marketing. Keep in mind the blue-oval emblem making its first appearance on the grille. F-100 production finished in 1983. 15. Utilizing its exceptional handling, this 1993 SVT F-150 Lightning could equate to or beat a 1993 Ford Mustang GT in long track runs. 18. There was no doubt the strength of the 2009 F-150 with its bold grille and aggressive stance. The light weight aluminum F-150 A red revamped Ford F-150 Platinum-trim 2015 Ford F-150|Ford If you consider serious automaker wagers, the 13th generation F-150 is near the first. After a number of years atop the sales graphes, Ford left behind steel for a light weight aluminum vehicle body-- and it worked. The new F-150 became the first pickup to obtain a luxury NHTSA safety rating and an Insurance Institute for Freeway Safety Top Safety Pick classification. Now that the results are in, we can say Ford nailed the redesign as well as only improved the reputation of its flagship vehicle. 24. The 1948 design altered that, as well as the F-Series proceeded its advancement right into the 21st century. These days, the F-150 and also heavy-duty versions sport one of the most innovative tech as well as interior convenience that pickup trucks have actually ever before seen. It definitely really did not start this way. Below are 25 pictures of Ford's F-Series pickups-- from the earliest days of its predecessors to the most recent off-road conqueror. 1. Ford Version T vehicle 1925 Ford Version T truck 1925 Ford Version T truck|The Henry Ford To discover the beginnings of Ford vehicles, we have to go all the way back to the 1910s, when the automaker transformed the Model T right into a pick-up. As the picture reveals, this lorry was bit greater than a roadster with a flatbed fitted over the back wheels. Nonetheless, even such a basic arrangement obtained items relocating the very early days of consumer transportation. 2. Greater energy in the 1930s 1932 Ford Roadster pickup By 1932, Ford vehicles improved significantly in the energy department|Ford While there was obvious charm for a Version T truck, Ford improved upon the principle with the Design An as well as Model B. The bed was longer and the weight distribution better, so there was a lot of allure for vehicle buyers throughout the Anxiety, particularly with the arrival of the vehicle's V8 engine. Yet it was still a roadster and also had its share of constraints. f150 mesh grill 3. Joining the 1940s war effort 1941 Ford Express Ford trucks became part of the war effort after 1941|Ford The hardtop, long-bed truck concept took form by the late 1930s, as well as by the time 1941 models appeared, there were numerous alternatives for consumers. Amongst the choices were brand-new V6 engines to accompany the V8 and four-cylinder options. Ford borrowed both the grille styling and the underlying system from autos here, and also released additional vehicle plants by 1941 in case the USA went into the battle. Consumer production finished for numerous years after the Pearl Harbor intrusion. 4. Birth of the F-Series 2 men using stetson lean on a red Ford F-1 vehicle as it rests parked before a home Ford F-1 truck from its debut year|Ford Following World War II, Ford launched its first brand new vehicle system with 8 various designs. From the half-ton F-1 to the three-ton F-8, customers had a lot of selections. Engine choices varied from a 95-horsepower V6 to a 100-horsepower V8. F-Series trucks began with a modest, practical look and also higher practicality than its predecessors. 5. The front grille altered considerably (new engines likewise arrived), however this redesign was a lot more substantial. A boosted V8 engine, longer measurements, far better exposure, as well as transmission were introduced. So were hood accessories as well as the nomenclature we acknowledge today: F-100 as well as F-250 changed the 3 lightest pick-ups in the schedule. 6. Even more power for 1954 A red 1956 Ford F-100 with tractor as well as incorporate drives through an area 1956 Ford F-100 with tractor as well as incorporate|Ford Updates for F-Series vehicles proceeded throughout the second generation While the wraparound windscreen used boosted visibility for motorists, upgraded power specs increased their alternatives on the job site. Six cyndrical tube engines maxed out at 115 horses by 1954, while the V8 engine forged ahead to 130 horsepower. A lot more power dropped by the 1956 design year, with the F-Series V8 engine delivering up to 173 horses, according to Edmunds. 7. F-Series third generation. Ford took the concept of an efficiency pickup as well as ran with it here, gearing up Raptor with 510 pound-feet of torque and significant interior conveniences. Nonetheless, we'll simply explain the really attractive visual cues. We can not think of a cooler-looking pick-up on the road. 25. The 2018 version Ford F-150 for the 2018 version year 2018 Ford F-150|Ford One century after Ford debuted its initial Design T truck, the 2018 F-150 entered the scene. New advanced crash defense technology as well as the F-150's ideal towing capabilities were crucial upgrades. Meanwhile, conventional start-stop features made it much more cost-effective than any kind of previous model. While we're not exactly sure regarding the next century of truck production, Ford shut its very first 100 years at work stylishly.

D&D Stories with Perseus (me!)
My favorite D&D campaign I’ve ever been a part of was when my girlfriend (our forever DM) asked me if I could help her out on a story she wanted to do. Basically it became a 1 Player campaign and my other party members would be NPCs created by my GF so that she could also test out other PCs
She had me make a level three character before we started and before I even knew the theme of the campaign, so I made a funky little Drow Bard who taught himself Illusion magic. I gave him a hermit background and basically wrote his backstory for him to be searching for the adventurers who helped him escape the Underdark and chase his dreams of writing music, unfortunately, those adventurers were all humans and died a few hundred years before my Bard actually escaped (there’s a whole thing with an enchanted sleep that I forgot to write down and yeah)
So now my bard is going around just trying to make a living and not get sunburned
We sit down to start the campaign and my character gets framed for murder right off the bat. That’s fine, I guess, Terran (my Drow’s name that he picked for himself) is Lawful Good so he cooperates with the Aasimir police captain named Persephone (she was based off of Percival King from Epithet Erased)
Persephone tells Terran that she knows that he didn’t kill anyone, but her coworkers still want him charged because he’s a Drow. So she makes him a deal: find the actual murderer before next Sunday (seven days) and all will be forgiven and he’d receive a reward
The reason the killer needed to be found in seven days was that on that Sunday, the current Aasimir King would be traveling through the town and the police can’t exactly have a serial killer on the loose
So Terran heads over to the Adventurer’s Guild to hire some help with some cash that Persephone gave him. He hires Daniel the level 2 Goblin Cleric (the poor kid is barely of age to become an adventurer and he’s so nervous) and Martix the Tiger Tabaxi Ranger (Level 2 Ranger, Level 1 Barbarian).
The three went back to a tavern to find info and Terran and Daniel get pulled aside by a Changeling who wants to help. The Changeling drags the two guys around the city for a bit before more Changelings show up and forces the two dudes to fight them. When Terran and Daniel beat them, the original Changeling reveals that there’s a cult of Changelings all around the city who are planning to overthrow the Aasimir King. These Changelings have been stealing identities from the townspeople and killing those who could be threats to their plans. One of these Changelings happened to impersonate Terran and that’s why he got arrested
Terran and Daniel (the poor kid) return to Martix and suddenly a bar fight breaks out between another adventurer (who has only been described as “The Red Pirate”, but has been seen around town for a while) and some guards. Things happen and the entire place blows up. Martix got hurt defending Terran, so the bard dragged him to the Adventurer’s Guild to get him patched up. Only problem is that now Daniel is missing and where he was standing was a note saying to meet his captors by the docks at sundown
So the two get ready and spend hours talking to each other. Turns out Martix didn’t trust Terran at all when they first met and was only helping him to get some money, but now the bard has his respect. (Terran also gave him a ball of yarn and Martix went all cat-mode with it, it was very adorable)
The two get to the docks and find three Changelings in human disguises standing around a tied up Daniel who looks terrified. Martix rages while Terran uses bardic inspiration to give everyone a boost. They easily kill two of the Changelings with some CRIT rolls and Terran chases after the third Changeling who happens to be the leader. Terran tries to get information out of the creature, but to no avail (I failed FOUR intimidation/persuasion checks! FOUR)
So Terran goes to stab the leader with his rapier to reduce him to Changeling sludge, but his blade goes through flesh and bone on it’s face. Terran just stabbed a real human in the face. Huh?!?!?!
Daniel is fine and Terran goes to report in to Persephone, who’s work schedule is just pure havoc. She still has to finish arrangements for the King’s visit, but she also has to take a band of pirates to the gallows. Terran volunteers to run them over to the gallows since it’s on the way to some stores that are owned by known Changelings (the party wants to gather some more info)
Persephone agrees and gives the party a very noticeable wink. We meet the pirates and their captain is a very large and muscular human who probably has some orc blood in him. Daniel uses “Zone of Truth” and the party learns that the pirates have committed no crime, but they too had their identities stolen by Changelings. Using his judgement, Terran decides to let them go and comes up with an excuse to explain their escapement. We find out later that the Red Pirate is the son of the captain and now he owes us for not sentencing his father and crew to death. Also, Terran and The Red Pirate find themselves being attracted to each other??? (curtesy of my girlfriend for giving Terran a love interest because he deserves it)
HOWEVER THE FUCKING CAMPAIGN HAD TO BE PUT ON HIATUS BECAUSE OF COVID AND WE HAVEN’T CONTINUED IT BECAUSE I LOST MY CHARACTER SHEET FOR TERRAN
I was so interested to expose this entire conspiracy with the Changeling cult and maybe a pirate adventure but neither my gf or I have any notes from last year and we’re so mad.
Anyways, I’m sharing this so that it can be of inspiration to other D&D players who need a homebrew campaign idea
(i still think that persephone knew that she had changelings in her police station which is why she put her trust in a fucking drow over other aasimirs and apparently martix had a whole backstory too and daniel was slowly becoming terran’s adoptive little brother like that funky little goblin was my LIFE)

Munday post
I figured maybe this week I’d do a different type of Munday.  Most of my long time roleplay partners already know me quite a bit and I also try to introduce myself to newer partners as well, however I figured this could be a good chance for everyone to really get to know me.  I’m including everything under a read more not because long post and also because I know not everyone likes seeing this type of thing.  It’s just a bunch of random facts about me and my favorite things along with a munday pic under the cut.  I didn’t want to just throw out a munday picture like most would do.  I’ve done that plenty of times before and there’s nothing wrong with it, I just felt like doing something a bit more unique and different this time that might really give people a chance to get to know me :D
So long post under the cut.
So, first off, my name is Derek.  I’m the mun.  I just recently turned 30 and I’m from Indiana.  I work in a preschool, essentially as a glorified baby sitter.  I help the teachers get their breaks.
I’ve been interacting on here since November of 2013 and I’ve had this exact blog with this exact URL the entire time.  I wanted something really generic and not just a quote or something like that.  I first tried TheEleventhDoctor, but obviously that was taken so this ended up being what I went with.  As for the theme, it too was made a VERY long time ago.  The TARDIS theme with the opening doors on the TARDIS actually used to be quite popular when I first started interacting on here, particularly with the Doctor Who RP fandom.  Although I’m the only one I see with it these days, if you go looking for older Doctor Who blogs that have gone inactive you are actually likely to find a few other blogs with it.  As for the background picture, I found that one myself except for the part with Matt Smith/The Eleventh Doctor edited on.  That part was done by someone I used to interact with who just surprised me with it one day and unfortunately isn’t on Tumblr anymore :(  Having been on this platform for so long I’ve obviously seen a lot of blogs come and go and I miss every single last one of them :(  However I also enjoy everyone I currently interact with and would recommend almost any of them.  Seriously, if anyone is looking for new people to interact with, let me know you are looking for people and what fandoms you enjoy and I can probably recommend a few blogs!
Outside of Tumblr RP, I enjoy video games, yugioh, reading comics, general super hero related stuff, watching movies, playing Pokemon Go (I help run the local PoGo community) general board games, watching my shows, figure collecting, and cosplay, most of which I’m sure is stuff many of you also enjoy.  My fandoms include Doctor Who (obviously), DC, Star Wars, The Legend of Korra/ATLA (I’m one of the few that likes LoK more than ATLA), Marvel, Star Trek, Firefly, Power Rangers, The Walking Dead, Yugioh, Pokemon, Sherlock, general Nintendo fandom, Digimon and Harry Potter.
Here’s a few things about me in list form.
My favorite musician is Weird Al Yankovic.
My favorite book is Look Me in the Eye by John Elder Robbison.  As someone who’s been diagnosed with aspergers syndrome myself, this book really spoke to me in my original read through and since then I’ve purchased it multiple times.  I own at least three or four different copies of this book, partially because I kept loaning it out to people.
My favorite book series is the Harry Potter series.  Don’t ask me for a favorite book in the series, I love them all about equally.
As for comics, right now my favorite thing I’m reading is the Power Rangers series that Boom is putting out.  Some of my favorites of all time include Power Ranger Soul of the Dragon, the Star Trek TNG/Doctor Who crossover, the Power Rangers/Justice League Crossover, the original Spider-Gwen series, Poison Ivy Cycle of Life and Death, The Dark Knight Returns (I know anything Frank Miller related is a bit controversial but I enjoy it for what it is) and Batman: Hush.
Favorite movies include UHF, Scott Pilgrim VS the World, Captain America The Winter Soldier, Captain America the First Avenger, Avengers End Game, the Justice League movie, anything and everything DC animated, anything and everything Spider-Man related (yes, I even like Spider-Man 3 although it wasn’t as good as the others), anything Star Wars related although I’d say Force Awakens is my favorite one, the 2017 Power Rangers movie, Serenity, The Lego movie and it’s sequel, Yugioh Bonds Beyond Time, Mystery Men, Galaxy Quest, all the Star Trek movies, the corny 90′s Mario movie, the Doctor Who movie, and Detective Pikachu.  Really, any of the Marvel and DC movies could probably make this list as well, I’m not super picky when it comes to movies.
Favorite TV shows is something I am a bit pickier about.  Doctor Who is obviously on the list, and I’ve watched and enjoyed most of the Marvel and DC live action stuff although I have a huge preference for the arrowverse and 70′s Wonder Woman.  Animated stuff tends to vary but a lot of the older stuff from the early and mid 90′s seems to be best for that.  Power Rangers is obviously on the list as well, along with The Walking Dead, Digimon, Avatar the Last Airbender, The Legend of Korra, Sherlock, Yugioh, Firefly, and off the top of my head that’s about it.  Everyone always assumes I’m huge into anime as well, but I’m not actually that into it.  Just not my thing.
Now video games has potential to be my longest list as it’s easily my favorite medium of story telling due to the interactivity.  First off, Nintendo and Playstation are my general consoles of choice.  Nothing against Xbox, I have a lot of respect for the brand but I can’t really afford to have three consoles (even though I wish I could) and Nintendo and Sony have more offerings for me personally.  I also do dabble on PC a bit, but I don’t really have a high end PC and it’s mostly just for Sims.  That being said, my favorite games and game series include Watch_Dogs, The Sims, Mario (mostly the “main series,” 3D games and 2D platformers but I do enjoy some of the off series stuff like Mario Kart and Mario Party as well) , Pokemon, Super Smash Brothers, The Force Unleashed series, Injustice, most of the Spider-Man games, The Last of Us, Tomb Raider, most of the Batman games, Wario Ware, The Last of Us (still haven’t played the sequel yet.  Waiting to get it for cheap after seeing reviews), Days Gone, Control, Horizon Zero Dawn, No Man’s Sky, 51 Worldwide Classics for Switch, No Man’s Sky, the Tony Hawk Games (still haven’t played the new one yet), Time Splitters, The Movies, Hulk Ultimate Destruction, Zombies Ate My Neighbhors, Kirby, The Legend of Korra game (the 3d one, not the really bad one for 3DS), Donkey Kong, Street Fighter 2, Punch Out, Metal Gear Solid 5 the Phantom Pain, Sonic Heroes, and the list could go on and on.
My favorite drink is root beer or chocolate milkshakes if that counts
My favorite alcoholic drink is probably just a basic screwdriver tbh
My favorite food is Cheeseburgers, although Chicken Pot Pie is also a top contender tbh
My favorite color is green
My favorite Doctor is Eleventh obviously, but Thirteen, Two and Twelve are tied for second
Favorite companions are Amy, River (if she counts), and Donna
Favorite New Who episode is The Eleventh Hour
Favorite Classic Who story is Genesis of the Daleks
Since I’ve mentioned super heroes a lot, my favorites are Batman, Wonder Woman and Spider-Man, although Supergirl, Batgirl, Captain America, Scarlet Witch and Black Widow are also pretty high on the list.
Favorite game in the Pokemon series is X and Y
Dragonite is my favorite Pokemon
Favorite 3D Mario game is Odyssey although Sunshine would be next up on the list.
This is my only Tumblr RP blog.  I also have an ask meme blog and I used to have a personal but I haven’t logged onto it in years.
I’m on discord and I do add people from Tumblr on there, but I mostly only use it for Pokemon Go tbh
I spend every Wednesday and Sunday at the local comic book shop playing Yugioh
For anyone wondering in relation to that last fact, my current competitive deck Barrier Stun.  Some of my favorite casual decks that I play or have played in the past are Lightsworn, Blue-Eyes, E-Heroes, Greed, Sacred Beasts, Penguins and Six Samurai.
In the last decade I’ve moved about 3 times
I own pets!  I have one dog and one cat currently, but a few years back when we lived in a more country like setting, we owned 7 cats and 2 dogs at maximum.  Most of them died of old age over the last few years.
Before my current job I used to work at Walmart.  Long time followers of the blog may remember that I hated it there.
I don’t have a whole lot of writing experience outside of Tumblr tbh.  While I do enjoy writing on here, it’s the interactions itself that makes it fun for me and while I’ve tried to write a few things myself, it’s just not the same as roleplay.
Anyway, I just sort of wanted to do something different for munday besides just posting pictures of myself so I hope anyone who read this enjoyed it.  Here’s a pic of the mun to go with it.

Healin' Good Precure Episodes 19-20
Tumblr media
Anju looks good in purple.
I'm gonna be honest with you all here, I don't know how to start this one. I've watched these two episodes back to back TWICE and I have so many mixed feelings, I have no idea how to put my thoughts in a cohesive order for this post to make at least a little bit of sense. So bear with me because I have a lot of conflicting emotions.
Tumblr media
So beginning from the basic stuff, Episode 19 was strong, with great emotional moments, and I loved it for almost all of its run-time. Episode 20 was a bit of a letdown, the emotional parts didn't work as well, and what were supposed to be great moments felt like they needed a little more gas to me, and how things were solved in this episode made me like the previous one a little less than I did on my first watching.
You see, my major problem with how both of these episodes went down is that the pay off for the build-up wasn't exactly that satisfying.
Tumblr media
When the matter is Mid-season Cures, my preference will always go to when the character that will become said Cure has already been introduced before because these are characters we already know and already had some development so when the "Curefication" happens that moment feels like a turning point or an essential moment for those previously established characters arcs. When they become Cures, it's rewarding, it's exciting, and when they need to integrate that character with the original group it feels more natural because they already knew each other, at least to a certain level.
Cure Earth's case falls under the situation I like the least, where a character comes out of nowhere, transforms, and saves the day. And I don't know how to feel about those situations because I don't know that character, I don't know how I should feel about them. When they just appear it's not a rewarding build-up, it's frustrating. It feels like a Cure Ex-Machina and it can ruin what in other circumstances could've been a great moment. And the way things happened in these two episodes felt just like that.
Tumblr media
Episode 19 was everything centered around Rate, it was an episode where we finally got to know more of her and see her thoughts for once in a situation where the girls had to run to fight a monster right after. She was sick, she was feeling weak and powerless, and the entire episode was walking in a path where Rate would be the main star. Whatever happened there, it should be Rate in the spotlight, it was Rate's moment. But in the end, she didn't do anything and she was just the poor, defenseless little puppy that she has been all this time along. And in Episode 20 she was robbed even more of her spotlight, she didn't even get a chance to help in the battle like the other healing animals and it felt like such a missed opportunity. The sensation I had was that originally Rate was supposed to give a group power-up at this moment and this would be like a level up for her, but because they're so bound in this "Sixth Ranger" tradition they changed the focus to a character that literally didn't exist before she was needed to exist.
And I feel like I would be more okay with this if Rate at least had an active participation in creating Asumi and making her Cure Earth, you know? Rather than making Teatinu being the one who awakened the spirit, it could've been Rate that did it, it would show how powerful she is and how much she has grown and it would go hand-in-hand with her conflicts we've seen earlier in the episode. It would also serve as the reason why Asumi feels so connected with Rate and her strong feelings about protecting her, without mentioning it would explain why Rate was able to bond with her and turn her into her Cure partner immediately instead of the three characters that for 20 episodes have been giving their all to take care of her.
Tumblr media
With that being said, I also had many things that I liked in these two episodes. Seeing the girls caring for Rate in Episode 19 was very endearing, Nodoka waking up in the middle of the night to give her comfort, Chiyuu skipping club activities to be with her because she's concerned, Hinata taking advice from costumers of her family's clinic to give help on her own way, even Nodoka's father that was there just to be comic relief, all of these moments were pretty sweet.
And the magical-girl-centered part of the episode was pretty good as well. For example, I like that because Rate is sick with a real illness she can't feel the Earth calling for help so the girls go unaware of the Mega-Byougen wreaking havoc in the mountains which gave Batetemoda a huge head start so the monster was stronger than usual which lead to the cures being trapped in that situation, that eventually lead to Rate taking up action where it gave Batetemoda a chance to capture her which triggered Cure Earths birth at that moment. Aside from the problem of a character coming out of nowhere, it was a natural progression of events that had me on the edge of my seat for the entire second half of the episode.
Tumblr media
And Earth's entrance was pretty cool as well, the way she fought the Mega-Byougen doing all of those jumps and kicks was amazing, and seeing her creating an Elemental Bottle made me go crazy. Her second fight on Episode 20 was even better, going toe-to-toe with Batetemoda and sweeping the floor with him and the powered-up Mega-Byougen, that was awesome. My mind went places when she reveals she's not a human, and that she's technically a newborn. That paired with how clueless she is about everything and how she acts a little silly at times made it for an awesome time following her around. I joked about it on twitter, but Asumi sounds exactly like Anju from PriChan, and not just because Mimori Suzuko is doing the exact same voice she does for Anju but because this "cluelessness" reminds me a lot of how Anju acts sometimes whenever she's hiding her true identity. I'm just waiting for the time where someone will do an AMV of Cure Earth with Fortune Karat playing in the background and an edit of Anju's coord change with Earth transformation song playing as the background.
Tumblr media
Oh, and by the way, can we talk about how freaking gorgeous she is? Both in civilian and Cure form. Earth is one of the prettiest Cures ever and if you don't think so I recommend you to leave because I don't think we can be friends (jk, I condemn favorites shaming XD). I love her transformation, I love her attack, I love her weapon. I'm all here for these aesthetics and I have no doubt that in a couple of weeks I'll be here with an "I ♡ EARTH" headband and two purple lightsticks going "GO EARTH! GO EARTH!" because of that. Like, I can get tired of it??? From Rate's running to Asumi, to her grabbing Rate's little paws, to them snuggling each other TWICE, how her hair changes, and how she gets her earrings and the winged headpiece everything in that transformation is perfect. And gosh, the attack, after 20 episodes with attack animations that weren't all that exciting or inventive how fresh it feels to have a Healing Hurricane to blow us all away.
Tumblr media
I think from these episodes the only thing I can't forgive it's the villains' side of things, again. Like, they just lost their more interesting member, and now I just don't feel as engaged with the villains once more. Also, that power-up thing coming from a Mega-Byougen fragment was also a bit meh. More because we haven't really seen that being mentioned before, you know? And it's not like they didn't have the chance to explain it either, I believe Batetemoda was born from something with similar properties so they could've introduced this element before. I don't know, I'm just sad my good boy is gone and now we're stuck again with those boring three and the main villain that probably had less screen time than a side character so far.
Tumblr media
Another sadness was the new ending. I'm sorry y'all but I don't like this song, I don't like this dance, I don't like the visuals for this ending, and I'm just very sad. I'm gonna miss Miracle tto Link♡Ring SO SO MUCH... and this Ending doesn't even have hints for what the next season will be, I'm sad.
Tumblr media
Oh well, like I said CONFLICTING FEELINGS, I'm a mess but I hope I could pass my point to everyone. If you have anything to share about these episodes or my thoughts please let me know in the comments down below. I believe that's all for now, don't forget to stay healthy, stay safe, and never stop resisting. Thank you so much for reading, and until the next time, Healin' Goodbye~

Ranking all the Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers
Go Go Power Rangers! I felt it was time for another 90’s throwback. Today I’m ranking all the Power Rangers from Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers. Just about every 90’s kid was obsessed with this show. It was a phenomenon. It started out with the original five in its first season. As the show went on, we saw a number of replacements added to the cast.
As a child, I had my definite favorites based on my childhood memories. I later rewatched the series as an adult and my perspective on the characters really changed. This is my ranking based on what I observed as an adult looking back.
10. Kat Hillard (Pink Ranger)
Tumblr media
Kat had the unfortunate task of filling Kimberly’s shoes as the new Pink Ranger. She was doomed from the start. The writers introduced the character as a villain -- a fellow student under an evil spell to undo the Pink Ranger. It made us not like her from the very beginning. Kat eventually grew into her role, especially in the following seasons of Zeo and Turbo. But initially, she felt like an imposter who literally did not fit the suit.
9. Aisha Campbell (Yellow Ranger)
Tumblr media
I liked Aisha as a kid. I liked her sassy attitude and that she was girly and short. After watching the show again as an adult, I realized how completely useless she was as a ranger. She had no fighting ability whatsoever, couldn’t do any flips, and didn’t offer any brain power either. I actually felt embarrassed watching her fight scenes.
8. Rocky DeSantos (Red Ranger)
Tumblr media
I think Rocky got a raw deal as the new Red Ranger. Many viewers were used to seeing the Red Ranger as a leader. However, when Rocky was introduced, he was just another ranger on the side. I don’t think this was his fault as Jason had already been demoted as leader after Tommy became the White Ranger. As a kid, I liked Rocky. I didn’t mind him as an adult either. His taekwondo skills were actually better than Jason’s. He was faster, more agile, could kick higher, and do more flips. Unfortunately, as one of the replacement rangers, he was always in the background.
7. Jason Lee Scott (Red Ranger)
Tumblr media
Ranking Jason this low is gonna shock some die hard fans. As a kid, I absolutely loved Jason. He was one of my favorite rangers. I thought he was a great leader and strong fighter. He was the glue who got his team to work together. I especially preferred him as a leader over Tommy. But when I rewatched the show as an adult, I realized he really didn’t do anything! He had maybe two episodes about him. One was about him bench pressing a world record where he lifted weights the entire episode. That’s pretty much all he ever did. He lifted weights, punched bags, and occasionally taught a karate class or two. Essentially, he was there to flex his muscles and not much else. Even his sword, which I remembered being so cool, was pretty much useless. That was a big eye opener for me. I was also disappointed to see that his taekwondo skills weren’t as great as I remembered them. He was really slow, kinda clunky. Overall, Jason deserved better than what we was given.
6. Billy Cranston (Blue Ranger)
Tumblr media
As the resident brain, Billy managed to invent the team’s communicators, which were also teleportation devices, and a flying car. He often operated the computers at the Command Center along with Alpha-5. It’s fair to say he contributed significantly to the team. He was a weak fighter in the beginning, but somehow became a super ripped expert gymnast by the end of his run. The show never explained that, but it was never a realistic show anyway.
5. Adam Park (Black Ranger)
Tumblr media
I remember not liking Adam very much as a child. He was so quiet, shy, and often in the back as one of the replacement rangers. In my child mind that meant he was boring. However, as an adult, I realized how awesome he really was. First of all, he was way cute and I didn’t even see it before. He was smart and often operated the Command Center along with Billy (good ole Asian stereotyping). But mostly, he was an incredible fighter. His Shaolin kung fu style was a beauty to behold. His kicks, spins, and flips were so quick, effortless, and graceful. He had the best line in the movie: “I’m a frog,” which turned out to be the best zord as well. As the seasons went on (especially into Zeo and Turbo), he became much stronger, more confident, and a lot funnier too.
4. Zack Taylor (Black Ranger)
Tumblr media
Zack is seriously underrated. He had a great personality. He was the life of the party, a great dancer, and funny. He even created his own martial arts style called Hip Hop Kido. He especially shined in the second season as he incorporated his karate with dance moves and incredible acrobatics. In my opinion, he was a way better fighter than Jason. If he had been given the proper treatment, Zack would’ve been on the same level as Tommy. After Zack left the show, the cast wasn’t nearly as fun.
3. Trini Kwan (Yellow Ranger)
Tumblr media
Original Yellow Ranger Trini was the best. She was strong, brave, and intelligent. She had a spiritual side to her that was cool, calm, mature, and classy. She had natural leadership skills that were completely overlooked. I’d even say that when unmorphed, she was the true leader. She often stepped up and encouraged the other members no matter what situation they were in. She could understand Billy’s nerd talk and translated for the team. She also kicked serious butt. She became a big role model for many Asian American girls, as she was one of the first Asian American actresses with a visible role on television.
2. Tommy Oliver (Green & White Ranger)
Tumblr media
I loved Tommy as the Green Ranger. His karate took the show to the next level. He was super bad ass and totally convincing as a villain. That evil laugh was perfect. Even after becoming good, the writers found a way to keep him around. His weakening powers and ultimately losing his powers gave him a tragic appeal. His relationship with Kimberly was also super cute. He was an exciting fighter and a compelling character. But, I didn’t really like him as the White Ranger. Once he became the White Ranger and the new team leader, he became a lot less interesting. He no longer had a real story. His martial arts was always top notch, but compared to the Green Ranger, White Ranger Tommy was too perfect and a lot more boring. Separately, I would’ve ranked White Ranger Tommy after Adam, but Green Ranger Tommy was awesome. Like I said, he elevated the show.
1. Kimberly Hart (Pink Ranger)
Tumblr media
Kimberly was such a popular character. She was loved by girls who wanted to be like her, and by boys who had a crush on her. As an adult, I could easily see why and I was actually really surprised. She was hands down the star of the show. She had the most episodes dedicated to her out of all the rangers. Even when the episode wasn’t about her, she often saved the day with her bow and arrow. Seriously. She saves the team in almost every episode. Even though she wasn’t the strongest fighter unmorphed, her gymnastics skills were crazy impressive. Overall, she was the most valuable and consistent ranger on the team. Without her, they would’ve been toast.
Overall Thoughts
First of all, I couldn’t believe how poor quality the show was. They obviously reused the same footage over and over again. Even more unbelievable is how we all believed it as kids! But that cheesiness is now one of the best aspects of the show.
I was also surprised by how much the show favored certain characters over others. Kimberly had the most spotlight, followed by Billy. When Tommy showed up, it became all about him. Zack and Trini were tied for second to last place for air time. Jason was dead last. He was barely even in the show. It’s no wonder the three were unhappy and left the show when they did.
Rewatching the series also made me realize how much the movies glorified Tommy at the expense of the Pink Ranger. In the first film that meant Kimberly, who I mentioned in this list was an incredibly strong character. In the Turbo movie, they weakened Kat for Tommy to rescue her as well. That’s super disappointing as the show offered some really cool role models for young girls.
One thing I appreciated about the female rangers was how feminine they were. Kimberly was a fashion crazy mall rat, but she was never diminished for it. It just happened to be her personality. It was never a weakness. None of the girls were expected to act like boys in order to be strong. Later in Zeo and Turbo, Tanya was more tomboyish. She naturally excelled at sports and that was really cool too.
Overall, I was impressed by how much stunts these young actors did. The putty scenes were my favorite. We got to see the real actors (not costumed stunt doubles) do all their own stunts. They were all talented martial artists of various styles and masterful gymnasts. As the show progressed, so did the choreography. I can understand why the actors complained about not being paid enough.
Today, most of the newer Power Rangers shows don’t do their own stunts like the originals did. They’re a lot more flashier as well with explosions going off in every episode. Even though the budget is higher and the actors have more rights now, it doesn’t beat the nit and grit or the talent of the original Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers.

e7!soulweaver!seokmin
oh man it’s been literal years
i’m so sorry that i haven’t posted anything in like three years or something and then i come back and the first thing i post isn’t even a request it’s me coping from mobile games
i’ll try and start writing regularly again aaaaaaaaa (๑•́ω•̀๑)
Tumblr media
seokmin e7! au
because i basically sold my tear ducts to try and get dizzy and it’s been like 6 days but i’m still uncertain how i feel about the fact that there was only 16 summons left before the pity guarantee
okay before we get to seokmin let’s start with you!
you come from a family of soul weavers
but like
a really big family of soul weavers
as in your sister works really closely with angelica and the other people from the holy order of the blue cross
your brother was basically one of the front line soul weavers during the second fight against the archdemon
and your parents had been in taranor supporting the knights when the nocturnes sacrificed themselves to seal the archdemon in the first battle before the heir of the covenant had awoken
you,,,,,,,are not a soul weaver
you’re a mage
and it’s not supposed to be that big of a deal in your opinion like at least you can still fight for your home right?
your family is less than pleased
you’re the youngest child of two parents who worked beside diene
your brother works beside krau in taranor and your sister works with angelica
even your cousins are amazing soul weavers in their own right
your parents and your aunts and uncles always act as if you’ve committed a crime against them whenever they talk about you
they even tell you how your grandparents would be disappointed in you as if it was your decision to be a mage and not a soul weaver?
your cousins and siblings are more sympathetic towards you and they try their best to make you feel better
since your family is situated in ezera your brother often asks you if you want to move to taranor to be away from them
you’ve got cousins from all around the continent who ask you the same thing
you don’t know what to say? because yes on one hand if you moved to taranor or reingar or somewhere else you’d interact with your parents much less
but on the other hand,,,,,,,,,,,it still didn’t feel like you’d be far enough?
like you felt that even if you moved to a different continent you’d still be too close to them
your sister actually managed to pull some strings and you’ve been training with some mages for a few months now
besides your brother no one else in your family knows
you always wondered when you might finally be able to escape your family and that time comes,,,,,,,not completely by surprise
your brother gets a few weeks off to spend time with family and he decides that instead of spending that time with his family like he’s supposed to,,,,,,,,he’s going to go travelling
you both somehow manage to convince your parents to let you go with him
the night you leave is emotional to say the least
your sister isn’t stupid, she knows that you’re planning on taking this chance to run away and disappear
so your goodbyes with her are full of whispered voice cracks and trying not to burst into tears
your parents don’t bother saying much to you other than reminding you to not cause your brother trouble
your travels takes you all the way to the solayu forest
your brother originally planned on continuing on towards taranor but he’s also never seen duselnorc so you both decide to take a detour and do a circle back after seeing the region
as you’re going through north wetheric moor to return towards taranor though, you two encounter way more unknown than you’d be comfortable with
you and your brother end up being saved by two individuals, a girl with big blonde curls and a guy with dark hair and a friendly smile
the girl introduces herself as lidica and the boy introduces himself as seokmin
you and your brother recognize lidica and she ends up telling you that after she had left the rose apostles she joined this group called the phantom cic
you’re instantly interested because this seemed just like the opportunity you’ve been waiting for
as lidica and seokmin lead you and your brother to meet their leader, you start conversing with the two, learning about what they do and how their group functions
they tell you about what class they are (lidica being a ranger and seokmin being a soul weaver) ((you’re a little bitter when you find out that seokmin had come from a regular merchant family and just seemed to be a natural))
they also tell you a little bit about the other members of the group (sez who’s still learning how to be human, bellona who ran from home, much like you, and aramintha who is their leader)
when you first meet the other three you’re intimidated and your brother is more than uncomfortable with you possibly joining the group
you talk to aramintha for a bit, telling her about how you come from a family of renowned soul weavers but you were the only mage and how you left to try and escape from them
aramintha agrees to let you join them, but not before making sure that you’re absolutely certain because this is dangerous work
your brother leaves after that, promising to send letters
life after that feels good
you spend a lot of time with the rest of the members and become good friends with bellona
you’re normally sent out with bellona or lidica as support
sometimes you’ll be sent out with sez but you’re not the best at keeping him from raging
also because he once went way ahead of you and you got lost
(bellona had teased you about it for days after that)
you’re also (almost) never sent out with seokmin since you’re both better at support
sometimes you think about how different your life might be if you had never been saved by lidica and seokmin and you can say with complete confidence that you probably would have hated every day of your life
you exchange letters with your brother regularly and through those letters you manage some form of communication with your sister
you just feel like it’d be a little too risky to be sending her letters when your parents could easily find them
out of all the members of the group, you become closest with seokmin, ironically
you tell him about your family and why you left and in return he tells you about how he was never expected to be anything great since his family was just a regular merchant family and how proud his parents were when he decided to leave to try and make the world a better place
you’re a little jealous of how supportive and loving his family sounds but you don’t tell him since the last thing you want is for him to feel bad for having a supportive family
the two of you, despite being the weakest possible combination in terms of offence, actually work really well together
you both respect each other an insane amount since you both have somewhat similar backgrounds
neither of you had much of a chance to make a name for yourselves in your class and yet both of you are here today, fighting to make something of yourselves
it’s because you have such a huge amount of respect for seokmin that you’re 100% sure that the feelings you have for him are purely admiration and respect
bellona disagrees but she digresses
you get a letter one day from your brother telling you that your parents are starting to look for you
the letter details that they’re looking for you so that they can marry you off to some noble and gain some more social standing (especially since there have been rumours that their younger child, the only one in their family who is not a soul weaver, had run away from home)
apparently your parents had been somewhat keeping up their public image by claiming that you had gone off to travel the continent (which was,,,,,,,not completely false)
when bellona hears about this she promises you that if you didn’t want to be married off she’d do everything in her power to prevent it
especially since she understands your situation better than any of the other members
when you ask aramintha for advice she just shrugs and tells you that you are an adult and can make decisions for yourself
you write back to your brother and ask him to tell your parents that you weren’t planning on returning and being married off and that you were happy with what you were doing
you’re extremely surprised when your aunt turns up out of nowhere with armin and kluri, mercenaries who you had met back when you were travelling with your brother
she tells you that you really don’t have a choice but to agree to this marriage and that you should be honoured to be doing something for your family
you tell her that you don’t plan on returning, especially not to be married off to some noble
your aunt is, predictably, furious
she opens her mouth to continue speaking when seokmin cuts in
“sorry ma’am, but they’re already married to me”
what he says sends both you and your aunt into shock, and she eventually shakes her head and tells you that your parents will be hearing about this and they won’t be happy about it before turning and leaving
you’re still in shock so when seokmin lets out a laugh and goes “whew, what a day!” all you can do is gape at him
you finally snap out of it and thank him
he laughs it off before turning bashful, mumbling something about “out of order” and “wasn’t expecting that to happen today”
you can sort of make sense of what he’s saying so you question him
“seokmin,,,,perhaps, were you thinking about asking me out?”
he laughs, in embarrassment you suppose, before confirming your suspicions and apologizing for what he had done out of the blue
you tell him that you’d like that and maybe he’d like to join you when you go visit your brother?
bellona and aramintha are elated when they find out that you and seokmin have begun seeing each other
sez is a little confused but he still gives his congratulations when the others do
you end up taking matters into your own hand and end up sending a letter to the noble and tell them that you are, unfortunately, unavailable for marriage
you suppose your parents will probably burst with anger when they find out, but you can’t find it in yourself to care
when you and seokmin go to taranor to visit your brother, he’s extremely excited to hear about what you’ve been doing and that you’ve turned down the noble
he’s still a little nervous about you staying with the phantom cic to which seokmin just says that there’s nothing to worry about and how “you won’t find another soul weaver as good as me out there!” (to which your brother mumbles that “i’m sure you’re right”)
you back him up, telling your brother that it’s true, seokmin is the best soul weaver you know
to which your brother lets out an offended noise and tells you that he’s going to be telling your sister you said that
you laugh, and you don’t think you’ve ever felt so light and free of familial pressure than you did at that moment

Reviewcaps: Mega Man: Fully Charged (BOOM!) #1
Tumblr media
After 5 long years the Blue Bomber returns to comics and to the Fully Charged Universe! Things get a lot more grim as Aki grapples with a new robot army under actual robots, his buried past, and the fact Mega Mini is still around for some reason. Cracked skulls and dead cells under the cut.
So i’m a huge mega man fan. I haven’t really talked about video games here because this is my first video game adaptation, but yeah, I love em and Capcom’s vast and awesome franchise of robots and humanoids in blue, and in one case red, is one of my faviorites. From children blowing up tons of robots from a balding man who dosen’t get the hint already, to the pacifist soldier forced to fight in a war against robot whales, buffalo, mammoths, and other bizzare robot animals, to his best friend who has amnesia for some reason fighting more robot animals because capcom ran out, to his human sucessors wearing him like a hat, to some guy who turns out to be a war machine I haven’t played yet because I haven’t gotten the chance to and is the only part of the franchise I haven’t, to another universe where he’s the ai versoin of a dead child whose now a teenager mentally, to that ai’s sucessor a shy child whose dad was kidnapped by a space monster and fuses reguarly with a much cooler space monster. What i’m saying Is I deeply love this franchise, this franchise is complicated iwth all the branches, and it’s also full of lovely nonsense.
So naturally with that many versions and a decades long history Mega Man’s had a healthy life in one of my other faviorite meddieums: Comics. Over in his home country of Japan Mega Man’s had tons of Manga: The biggest and one of the few to make it here is Mega Man Megamix, a bunch of stories that, after the first two adapted the first two games in their own rough way, took place after each of the various games, and is pretty damn good. Others off the top of my head include a Mega Man x adaptation where X dates a mermaid, a weird mega man zero adaptation, and a longrunning adaptation of Mega Man Battle Network, all ones I need to read.
Even Brazil had a Mega Man Manga... which I need to cover too.. less because it’s actually good or notable, and more because it’s BATSHIT INSANE, and you can read about it here. But the cliffs notes: Roll is an adult woman who goes around naked half hte time and is the most importnat character, X is master roshi with all the restraint and panty snatching that implies, and ther’es a character that one writer tried to have kill everyone and take over the comic.. yes really. I go most of this .l from that page but it’s documented on various wikis that this did actually happen. Just.. why. All of it.  Meanwhile in the US.. we didn’t get that many. No nintendo power adaptations despite being a huge franchise, no horrible malibu comics like street fighter got. There was one attempt by Dreamwave comics in the early 2000′s a series that only lasted 5 issues, and had mega man trying to go to school and some intresting if loose takes ont he franchise.. but the company bottomed out due to horirble mismanagment soon after and mega man sat ont he shelf for a while until the early 2010′s. At a time when Capcom had given up on the franchise, which has thankfully changed dramatically with the release of 11 and the various mega collections, they still gave the liscence to Archie comics, who, wanting some more of that sweet money they were getting off of sonic, gladly took the lisence and gave it to  Sonic Scribe and easily the best one the comic had during it’s long run, Ian Flynn, who set about adapting mega man from day 1, while incorperating nods and call forwards to the various other versions of the blue bomber, and adding his own nice touches. What i’ve read is really damn good and it’s a shame it got cut off right before the adaptation for mega man 4. I’m only being so brief as .. I intend to cover it like i’ve been saying. I love the character, Flynn’s comic was one of the best versions of him bar none, and I could use more comics content on here too. It’s a win win, smiles all around.  But yeah sadly Archie lost intrest in doing non-Archie stuff, with the Archie Horror Line proving a sucess and a reboot on the horizon. While I do LOVE Archie Comics, this edotiral decision still leaves a bad taste in my mouth and left fans without any mega man till 11 came out and any comics till this year, when the rights apparently lapsed and Boom! Studios, home of such great comics as the mighty morphing power rangers ongoing and JOhn Allison’s wonderful Giant Days, swept it up. Hopefully Boom! will reprint the archie comics eventually, but until then they decided to do a softish reboot of another version of the franchise, another one that like Archie had been given a raw deal.. but unlike Archie had issues: Mega Man; Fully Charged
While most of you probably know this as a refrsher Mega Man: Fully Charged was a cartoon from a few years back, a CGI adatpation of the games in an attempt to get in on that market by Ben 10 and Generator Rex maestro’s Man of Action. Like the Dreamwave comics it followed Mega Man, now Aki LIght as he went to school, did school stuff, and also fought rouge robots after school with secret powers he unlocked before the pilot and were never elaborated on in show.  The show kept Dr. Light, Mega Man’s creator and dad, and his dog Rush who while at first looking nothing like the games was later upgraded to resemble his game counterpart more from what i’ve heard and what’s present in this comic. Replacing Mega’s sister Roll, as his real name was Rock because the Mega Man staff loved musical puns, was Suna.. whos basically the same character but human and with an entirely diffrent design.  The show also, for whatever fucking reason, added... Mega Mini.. a tiny robot with a brooklyn accent who lived inside Aki, Mega Man’s regular name in this series which i’m fine with as while I do lik ehim going by Rock, I get that’s not really a name. Mini also manages his powers, makes stupid jokes and makes me pray for death but death won’t come. As you can tell I hate the little bugger from the handful of episodes i’ve watched. Rounding out our main heroes is Aki’s best friend Bert Wily, whose likely related to the canon wily and is your standard dorky best friend, but his roll as an inventor does come in handy since Mega hasn’t told his dad he’s a superhero, though it’s revealed in the end that he knows.. I did do my homework, even if i’ve only seen a handful of the series. More on that in a minute.  Opposing Mega Man were various robots from the games, adapted with varying degrees of design, from the good.
Tumblr media
To the okay if a bit weird.
Tumblr media
To the how the fuck is this airman. This is airman
Tumblr media
Really good basic design. This is what fully charged calls airman,
Tumblr media
Why.. why not just make him Wind Man. He looks more like Wind Man.. why did ... I can bitch about this later when I cover the series, which, yes AGAIN I intend to. BUt seriously he has an awesome looking fan for a face. How do you screw that up.
Behind the robot masters was Sgt. Night. See in a nice twist, and one of the things I like about the series, the world of Fully Charaged already had the kind of robot on human war that would plauge the main mega man timeline for centuries in the backstory, with LIght and Night being vetrans. Night being a racisit moron, wanted to keep robots apart and set up a false flag operation do do so as Commander Night. He however.. wasn’t a compelling vilian and apparnetly dosen’t really get better, not having any depth to his operations or actoins and his basic plan turns out to be, thank you research, to wipe all robots minds to be subservient.. he’s just.. bland compared to wily who while not complex in his motives, he just wants to take over the world, still has style and in some cases, real thought to his plans. Sure the vast majority are “blame it on someone else” but in a LOT of those cases, there’s still thorught and effort put into who he’s blaming to take doubt away from him. IN universe at least.  Helping night, is Namagem... yes Mega Man..spelled backwards and this series protoman, but hte character suprisingly DOES sound intresting... he just has one of the worst names in human history. Like my god, in god we trust why not just use proto man. the Character is basically proto man, with the interesting backstory of night kidnapping him, and apparently the series gets loads better once he arrives, so i’m not going to be too hard on the name, as the writers were likely stuck with it.    But as i’ve made apparent.. I haven’t watched much of the series. I do want to watch it all and i’m aware the second half is much better, but when trying to binge watch it at a friends house I only got about halfway through season 1, and then just forgot to keep going. And the series does have good pieces: a compelling background of a brutal war, mysteries to unlock, and a steady supply of new villians via the games long history and the series own original, and honestly intresting sounding and looking, robot masters... but it stapled all this to a “cocky hero fights vilians” every week setup we’ve seen a million times and didn’t grab me, but the intresting worldbuildnig and original bits do have me wanting to give it another try so look forward to that.  And with all the intresting bits i was truly invested to see a comic make more out of this part of the franchise,a nd was utterly excited, as it could be what the series could’ve been with less hampering by the various parties involved, as fully charged felt like it had a lot of executive madates slapped on. So free of those and free to be whatever it wants with Joe Kelly advising, what has fully charged become? let’s take a look.
We Open 6 months after the series with the comic helpfully catching us via news broadcast.. and the art being moody with washed out colors the tone having done a 180. Seriously it is kind of weird for this unvierse to go from early generator rex, a dark backstory with a bizzarely cheery tone to full on Blade Runner or to put it in mega man terms, The Megas. Seriously the breif bit of silicon city we see , the constant rain as a mysteroius figure whose revealed at the end of the next page to be Namagem.. I expect that a pretty hologram in a raincoat is going to pop up next to him any moment... what I can pick which blade runner I want to refrence. Shoo.
Anyways a broadcast debate between a human reporter and her robot coanchor , ron roburgundy as I will call him, fills us in on exposition, while Mega Man himself narrators like this is a noir.. again i’m half expecting harrison ford to show up. Aki muses about how the city, HIS CITY, almost fell.. oh god is frank miller writing this? Are we going to get a middle schooler talking about how much he wants to make love to a city because no one wants that.  Anyways, we get expostion, both for anyone who hadn’t watched the series to give us the cliff notes, and to also catch up returning fans on what they missed. I like it, despite not having watched fully charged to the end, or known exactly what happened until research, this fills it in nicely: At the end of season 1, as I explained earlier Night was arrested, and is thankfully not a part of it nor is his foghorn leghorn attempt at a southren accent. However the remaning Robot Masters are still rioting and a new army of them has started a legit revolution, vandalizing the good guild, which still has that name for some reason despite the tone shift, who are about as compitent as the name implies. Here’s file footage of them fighting Pharoah Man.
Tumblr media
Anyways Dr. Light is going to negotiate peace and as I mentoned earlier nams is watching with a glare on his face. And yeah I .. I can’t keep calling him Namagem. That name is just bad and whoever came up with it is one of the biggest morons in marketing history as is whoever decided to force the poor creative team to use it. However while he is Protoman in ways.. it just dosen’t fit. The two were made together in this unvierse, maybe we’ll see as this comic fills in the blanks, and furthermore he’s a bit of protoman and bass.. and since protobass sounds stupid, and blues dosen’t work without the theme naming.. i’m going with Breakman, protoman’s disgusie from 3. With the heavy scaring, broken past and general state of him it just.. fits and HOPEFULLY the comic will give him a full on rename. If it does i’ll go with that but for now I just want to keep from slamming my head into a keyboard every time I have to type out NAMAGEM... excuse me.
hgfjnhnghbjnh
That’s better. Okay so moving on from my new headache, we cut to the desert where the good guild, which is somehow even worse than Breakman’s actual name, are escorting light to a bunker in the desert, where the robots outside tell light to leave the good guild inside. Just as well he’d be better protected with a paper mache sword anda  note telling them to go away.
Naturally, not long inside the robot masters leader forces light to bow and handcuffs him, before revealing himself.
Tumblr media
Skull Man. Who looks really badass in this thought, the skulls themed scrap throne, his regal posture and his speeches about how he feels that the only way things will be right, and settled is not by the fragile peace silicon city has but by humans beneath his rather sizable boots. And honestly.. he was a good choice for the main robot antagonist: Skull Man’s always had a cool look to him and most versions of him have been pretty cool, and the Megas gave him one hell of a theme song. If you haven’t heard of htem the Megas are an indie rock band that do reworkings of the various songs from mega man games, at the time of this recording a full album for 2, two full albums for 3, an ep for 1, and scattered other songs since the second 3 album, with plans to do their next full album on mega man x. Each of the stage themes for the robot masters is from the prosepctive of one of them and are really damn good and I’d recommend thema nd skullman’s.. really fits him here. take a listen.
youtube
But yeah Skull Man feels like a good choice for a menacing revolutionary, as well as a former combat robot as he himself was apparently in the hard wars. He honestly reminds me a lot of more than meets the eye megatron in flashbacks.. just good stuff. But being in the wars, he’s naturally not too fond of repetant vetran light and plans to kill him as an example. Light however.. isn’t an idiot.. a good man who seeks to do his best, who came in good faith.. but just in case he put some sort of device under his skin and presses it, signaling his son to come save his ass. And thus he does come ...
Tumblr media
And one of skullman’s minons mistakes him for a bomb.. which light clarifies i’ts a BLUE BOMBER. To skullman’s credit his response is to just order them to go full throttle showing no panic as Mega Man makes his entrance.
Tumblr media
Light thanks him by.. asking what took him so long.. when his son, whose a middle schooler mind you, had to fight through a bunch of armed assholes to get in here most likely. Mini shows up to my annoyance.. though credit where it’s do his zinger of what took so long “some birds, a plane, some guy in a cape” is actually.. really funny. I question why they kept him at ALL, but hey, at least he’s less grating and isn’t around long.. more on that in a minute.
A really well drawn action scene insues.. while the expressions vary for this comic, I will give the fight scnee, I will give the artist credit for having fluid motion and nice pops of color, most things are kind of blendy into the background other than major character but the color pops where it should.. not exactly my style but it works okay. In a nice change of his character though, Aki offers to spare the various robots there of a fight and possible death, as while he already attacked them it was in self defense.  And while it is a 180 from the show.. it’s not only a welcome change as it’s closer to the games canon and a more intersting personality.. it also still works. Aki went through a LOT at the end of season 1: while he did win, he found out he had a brother, his dad knew who he was but was never honest with him about it and also likely knows where his power came from but hasn’t told him, and has had to deal with 6 months worth of rioting where he’s unsure what side he’s on, machine like he is or man like his family. He’s trying to find the right ballance; be the hero his city needs.. but be the man he needs to be, one who will spare his enemies and won’t fight unless he needs to, for the good fo everyone, His friends, his family, everyone in the city who deserves to sleep soundly. And he’s also starting to wonder, via narration of course, if he’s a hero.. or even a kid.. or a weapon> Which again while a bit of a shift from the series again makes sense: he’s a middle school aged boy who started this jsut fighting random assholes and some idiot racist who was transparently evil and had selfish goals.. now he’s fighting against a revolution who MIGHT have a point. While Silcion city seemd fine and equal.. there wer eplenty of idiot swilling to listen to night. As the real world has proven over the last few months, just because things have gotten better, dosen’t mean that things are 100% or that prejudice is just gone. He’s a 12 year old asked to take a stand in a messy conflict that lead to war in the past with his father offering no answers and growing colder. While I thought his angst was  bit overblown on first reading the more I think about it the more it fits.
Anyways Mega makes short work of the skull squad after they refuse to back down, but while Mega Man’s ready to ghost.. Skull Man’s not done and drills into mega man’s head... and reveals something. Flashbacks.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But yeah, Skull Man’s either implanted or restored some memory of Aki fighting in the hard wars.. right alongside dr. light.. with a drill because science. DR. Light then gets REALLY badass, breaking out of the robot restraining him’s grip before fucking UPERCUTTING Skull Man.. jesus christ, Dr.Light clearly traded his empathy for miraclo pills holy balls.  Rush helps him escape and take Aki with him but skull man’s confident, he lost the battle but won Mega’s mind.  On the way home Mega Man tells dr.light what he saw and isn’t sure if it’s the past the future or something else but Dr.Light assures him..
Tumblr media
Even though his eyes give away he’s clearly hiding something. Also I haven’t mentioned it yet but Dr.Light looks like santa in this sisue, red shirt, blue pants, big white beard. Just.. why though. Just put him in a suit or something. Also Mini crawls out of Mega’s head and passes out due to the memory restoration.. a nice way to write him out while still giving it weight since while the audience is presumibly cheering his long overdue demise, he is aki’s friend.. why I have no idea but he is.  Back at the lighthouse, the light’s home and home base, which is admitely a really good alternate name for light labs and a better one in my opinon. Light brushes off Suna, telling her to go to bed and avoiding telling her anything. Yeahhh.. while it could be the pressure of the situation I really dont’ like dr.light’s characterization before. Fully Charged, outside of the whole secret identity thing which at least was expalined as Aki not knowing if his dad would let him continue as mega man if he knew, though it extended clearly past the point he was clearly supporting mega man’s actions so I dunno. But he was a compationste scientest, deeply ashamed of his past in the war and wanting to make peace, he was done really well and peformed well by gary chalk. Here? He’s a dick who clearly did something terrible in the past and treats his kids like crap. It’s okay to be suspcious of him given the flashback but he’s given us no reason to like him or want to hear his side eventually, and hopefully that changes.
Suna talks to Aki who tells her what happened and both side give out good arguments; Suna points out she reallyc an’t trust what some creepy asshole put in his head, as Skull Man could just want to brainwash him.. but Aki counters easily and quietly: How’s he supposed to know what’s real if his dad won’t tell him anything? He took months to tell Aki he knew about his alter ego, and even before his id came out avoided talking about the hard war, which hasn’t changed. He vows to find out though, and Suna naturally is helpful, pointing out there’s more people to ask and since she actually pays attention in school she knwos just who.. Dr. Wily. Yup he’s finally here. dun dun dun. We then close as Breakman watches and tells his brother he can’t stop what’s started. And we’re out.  Mega Final Thoughts: This was a decent issue, doing a fair job of bringing in new readers, and the art was decent and matched the tone.. which If elt was a bit too bleak at times. Better than say a Zack Snyder film at least, but still a bit too close to that form of edgelord for my case. That said it opens up some intresting mysteries and has me at least willing to give it another shot next month and was a solid opener, which while not having the best charcterzation for dr light, vastly improved Aki and Suna’s while giving us a far more intersting villian in Skull Man. If this holds, we’ll see. But until then I plan to cover more mega man comics, as well as my continued weekly coverage of amphibia. Until I see you again, stay safe, wear a mask and later days

HISTORY - TW: underage drinking, underage sex, drug use, alcohol poisoning, self-destructive behavior,
There’s not a lot of things you could consider remarkable about Nora Ryker. Born the middle child in an upper-middle class family in Washington, she grew up comfortable - never wanting for food or clothing, but nonetheless dissatisfied. The middle child syndrome was strong in this one, as Nora often found herself fading into the background when compared to her older brother and younger sister. She received decent enough grades in the beginning, but not enough to compare with her younger sister's constant advanced classes. She might have placed silver at her district's cross-country running meets - but who would sit through that when her brother was going to state as star quarterback? Her parents loved her, they did, but between three kids and two full time jobs? They just didn't have time for the middle's tantrums. After a few years of struggling to make herself seen, Nora decided that if her parents weren't going to give her attention -  she would find it elsewhere.
Nora was twelve when a sophomore gave her her first taste of beer at a joint middle-high school track meet; and despite the way it tasted, she liked the impressed looks on her classmates’ faces. She learned early that the more daring you were, the more attention others would give you - and Nora couldn't get enough. Choked down gulps of beer graduated into quick shots of vodka, with Nora clenching her eyes to get past the burn in her throat. Liquor turned to weed when she hit eighth grade, and losing her virginity followed shortly after. She barely remembered the act itself. but she remembered the greedy, almost desperate way that he touched her. For that brief (brief) moment, she was the most important thing in the world to someone, and she loved it. As her siblings continued to try and earn their parents love and approval, Nora made it her mission to earn their disapproval. Boy, did she earn it.
If it was offered, Nora tried it. Liquor, drugs, sex - even harmless petty crimes, she did it all. Had anyone asked what prompted this change, she wasn’t necessarily sure that she could explain. All Nora knew was that the older she got, the more that void in her chest became harder to fill. By the time her parents noticed the changes in their daughter, it was too late. She started to push it overboard, sleeping with anyone (even her sister's boyfriend), and injecting anything into her body. She even wound up in the hospital with alcohol poisoning a few times. Her parents didn't handle their middle daughter the best either; the sounds of their past screaming matches still coming to mind every now and again. Once desperate for their attention, Nora now felt suffocated by them now. The more they pushed, the more she acted out, and the fights didn't end when Nora left for college either. All it did was turn into constant texts and phone calls.
Forestry was supposed to be a throwaway major, something to get her degree in so her parents would stop threatening to cut her off. Her adviser suggested it because she had grown up camping in the mountains, and Nora’s lack of interest was starting to wear on her. What no one expected was that Nora would fall in love with her major. The core classes were a boring joke, but the trips out into the wilderness actually eased some of the hollowness in her chest. She became less concerned with trying to earn love, and more concerned with the preservation and maintenance of parks. Nora couldn't seem to graduate fast enough -  with her overwhelming enthusiasm landing her an internship and then an eventual job with Mount Rainier's Park Service. She lost herself in those tall trees, going in one person and coming at another.
Truth be told, Nora doubts her life would have changed at all if it weren't for her niece showing up one day at her doorstep. Barely 16, Addison was all hard edges and secrets - filled with a type of emptiness that Nora recognized immediately. Of course, she was a little surprised by the arrival - Nora might have settled things with her sister over some past issues and visited every once in a while, but she'd never felt particularly close to her niece. Not initially. Still, she gave her a place to sleep, and a free meal whenever she wanted - without even batting an eye. Nora's sister seemed more than happy to leave her problem child with her problem sister.
With Addison, Nora understood that it wasn’t attention she was seeking but understanding. It’s what Nora had wanted in the end, after all. She never asked any prying questions, never stormed into Addison’s room to search for drugs, and most importantly - she didn’t demand answers to why Addison felt the way she did. Nora knew that it was a hard question. Truth be told, it was also nice having someone there to come home to as well. She was no longer the Nora fighting to find herself in other people, but every once in a while she’d still feel the barest traces of loneliness. She might not have sought to soothe herself with other people anymore, but it’d be a lie if she said having Addison around didn’t help her as well. The two of them formed an easy, silent companionship. Nora didn’t try to lock Addison down when she made the decision to leave, but a quiet part of her heart went with her.
Nora hasn’t let herself cry once about Addison’s disappearance - refusing to give in to despair. She can feel it flickering at the corners of her mind, but what good will crying do? Addison’s parents could spend their days praying for a savior and begging for their “baby girl” to come back, but Nora wasn’t just going to sit around. Nora was always one to act, and right now is no different. Her rougher edges might have smoothed out with time, but there’s still a hellion under her skin... and her trip to Blackrock isn’t going to be a short one.
CONNECTIONS:
*Note, Royan cannot think of any in-depth ones right now, so she's going to keep it short and sweet and just word vomit in a stream of consciousness.  If you had plotted a connection with the previous Holly and would like to keep it, please hit me up! I am open for anything
Any original ideas! As stated above, I'm open for anything! Bring the pain! Bring the drama!
Roommates - She needs a place to stay. Motels are expensive and she knows she's going to be here a while so would anyone like to sublet to Nora?  [OPEN]
Bully Hunter - Nora hates bullies. She may not be the warmest person in town but Nora came to the rescue of this person, stepping in when something was going wrong.   [OPEN]
Coworkers - Luckily for Nora, being a former ranger has its perks in Blackrock. I was looking to have her transfer to this department to keep her money flow going so any other rangers, game warden, interns would be welcome connections  [OPEN]
The Pack - This one is really open to anyone in the pack, esp folks that were close to Addison. Despite being far away, I like to think that Addison still kept in touch with her aunt. Nora's been her confidante for so long, so I want to say she would have known maybe one or two names?  [OPEN]
Horny on Main - I have yet to be horny on main with either character, so if someone wants a one-night stand/sexual tension with Nora, I love it. Sex has always been a big distraction for her, so why the fuck not? Personally, though, I don't see Nora sleeping with anyone under 29-30 with light exceptions depending on the FC because some FCs just look too young for me to feel comfortable pairing with someone Nora/Amy Adams' age.  [OPEN]
SUSPICION - This person just really causes all the warning bells in Nora's head to go off. They know more than they're telling her, she's certain, and she will get the truth from her even if it kills them her.  [OPEN]
Short Connections I will keep adding to:
Drinking buddy.
Confidant - knows what she's going through and sympathizes with.
