we started watching blue eye samurai the other day and when they were like "i don't know my father, just that he is a white man, so since there are only four white men in this country i'm gonna kill them all" immediately my first thought was like oooooh. so like a reverse mamma mia situation. and nothing that has happened in all the episodes we've watched has proven me wrong yet

RE: Amazon's Lord of the Rings series:
I think this excellent video from Sarah z -- about the way that right-wing backlash against certain media properties makes it nearly impossible to have genuine conversations about them, because you can't talk about them in good faith without inadvertently adding to the right-wing dogpile of people criticizing them for racist sexist reasons -- conveys pretty much everything I should probably say about it ladjflksdfs.
Sarah Z makes a great point that this kind of vicious right-wing backlash often tends to deliberately focus media properties that are mediocre because of other reasons (like boring corporate mandates) and claim they're mediocre because of diversity. Right-wingers intentionally ignore properties that have diversity and are Good, and intentionally ignore the billions of shows/movies that aren't "woke" but are also similarly mediocre.
Because right-wingers don't actually care about the "quality of art" unless they can use that as a weapon to attack the people they hate.

the 4th episode of series 5 of ghosts is such a testament to laurence's acting (and writing) ability! the way he plays two drastically different characters in multiple scenes together and is able to create that sense of emotion is just amazing!!!

The Bad Batch, Season 2 Episode 14: Tipping Point (Spoilers):
⚠️warning: mention of self harm.
I know we’ve all seen the gifs and screen caps of Crosshair being tortured and even seeing the welling of tears in his eyes at the end. It’s tragic. My heart aches!
BUT!
… we all know he’s probably also taking the torture as a self harming punishment?
In episode 12, we saw that shift. From being a good soldier to Empirical dog. He regrets not believing Hunter when he told him that the Empire would retire the clones. Regrets not leaving with his brothers.
How else will this taciturn, arrogant, melodramatic, cat of a man try to redeem himself? Taking the punishment without a peep. Refusing to give up any information to Hemlock. Trying from his position to keep Omega safe, thinking that’ll be the only way he can be forgiven by his brothers and can ever forgive himself.
Not to mention when Crosshair attempts to escape, he switches to stun before shooting Emerie. I really want to know why he didn’t kill her.
Anyways, I’ll leave you guys with this sad thought that my mind so kindly curated. :)
