The think pieces I could write on how Falin’s first appearance as a chimera- with her elegantly settling down onto the ground while simultaneously crushing one of Kabru’s team members beneath him is metaphorical of the worship and image Marcille (as well as Laios) has of Falin no matter the circumstances.
It’s near biblical the way they perceive her under desperation to have her back. Obviously they both love and admire her but it’s so easy to see when Falin falls into being a little sister or silly friend to either of them when they’re safe and comfortable, but the way they truly see her is so real. She’s graceful, gentle, flawless in every moment. Hell even as she’s murdering people Marcille says that Falin is just confused. Kabru tells her that she doesn’t care how many people would die if it meant she got to save Falin and he’s right. All her sins are absolved under what she means to them.
To Marcille and Laios to even be near Falin is a grace unparalleled, to be in her presence and acknowledged by her is divinity and nothing else compares. They are elevated only by the privilege of loving her in the ways they do and the privilege of being able to protect her.
Anything less is a failure to the love she so generously, selflessly provides.

Naur because the choking scene in the movies terrified me as a kid because of how violent it was and going back to what you said about their book heights……. the real fear katniss having ab peeta maybe not being someone she can trust for the reason that he was bigger than her :( so sad so tragic I love this series so much
katniss pretty much spends half of the first book and some part of the games constantly assessing how peeta can kill her and the main two things she focuses on are his physicality and his people skills. in the books, katniss is described as quite small at several points (obviously because she’s malnourished) whereas peeta is usually described as broad, stocky, very strong. he’s someone she’s physically intimidated by, and it isn’t until he saves her from cato that she starts to see him as someone she can actually trust. honestly, i think katniss’s paranoia is something we could’ve seen more of in the movies. she’s quite literally suspicious of everyone that isn’t prim or gale (or peeta during and after the games), and while i love jen and josh’s portrayal as katniss and peeta, her fear of him kind of gets lost because she seemingly has no reason to be. he’s much nicer and of an equivalent size to her. peeta in the books is much sassier and witty, and there are points where her suspicions of him seem valid because of how dubious his motivations can appear. he’s still very personable with her but he’s not afraid to snap back at her either. add that with his physicality compared to hers and her distrust of him appears reasonable.

I'd like to think Mehmed is thinking the same with regards to her, in this scene.
He gave her the sword. He controls his temper around her. She stabbed him and his response was to admire and kiss her. He promised to not hurt her friends. He kissed her in this scene because otherwise he would probably tell her everything, which he supposedly can't do yet. He's far from perfect but she is his one "weakness".
Lale was undoubtedly under his power in an unbalanced/dangerous way‚ but he is absolutely under her power as well‚ especially now, and I think he's known it for a long long time.

Wisdom is a funny thing.
You never know what someone might spout as “wisdom”. To some, blatant lies are the only wisdom they have known. To others, devastating truths.
To the rarest - prophecies. Never the full truth, never the whole lie.
“What is the power of a dragon, next to the power of a prophecy”
The earliest dreams were horrid. Blurry messes, too loud of sounds and bursts of pain that left her crying, wailing for her mother.
It was indescribable at the time, mindless words made her way through the curtain of tears while her mother sat confused, unsure of what to do or say.
But how can one respond to nonsense.
The pain ceased over time, at least she felt as such. The words still came, without rhyme or reason.
She distracted herself as much as she could. From the stares and whispers, from the bursts and sounds, from herself and everyone else’s talks.
The words always had an edge to them.
“The young princess is sweet but a bit strange, you don’t think?”
“Oh what a beauty the princess Helaena is, if only she could speak properly.”
“Despite her mannerisms, the Queen is a very kind woman I’m sure.”
She embroidered whenever she happened to get the time. Things around her. Normal things. The flowers, the gardens, the sun, the moon, the prettiest of birds, the vilest of animals.
She was aware.
Of the way people assumed her to be idiotic or peculiar. Of the way her wretched father felt about her and her siblings. Of the ways a war had to be won.
Of entirely too much.
For someone like her.
The only time she spoke louder than she intended was at the green counsel. The oh so sweet, docile Queen Helaena damn near shouted at one of the men that a war cannot so simply be won. Silence followed. She liked silence.
She explained her reasonings. Slower than everyone else. It kept the nature of the room longer. Good.
She stared right at the king’s smile. He looked at her and winked.
Fucking twat.
Through all her life, she had garnered many a cheery praise, many a snide remark.
But it remained difficult.
To understand this strange wisdom.
To have the power to dream of the future and yet have no knowledge of what to do about it.
Because oh if only she had enough knowledge.
If only she had enough wisdom.
