Successful steamdeck experiments so far:

[X] CP2077 load and runs. Fixed stuttering vocal audio by turning off controller vibration (weird but truth). Works with wireless KBM and with my PS5 controller.

[X] Found where screenshots are stored in the file system (when switching over to Linux) for both the in-game photo tool and the steamdeck hardware controlled screenshot tool.

[X] Can use Steamdeck as an actual desktop computer (with small screen) and can access the internet, tumblr, etc., for sharing goodies.

[X] Explored the file structure for where steam installs games on the steam deck. Prep’ing to try using mods (tomorrow)

Open Questions:

[?] Why is CP77’s in game photo mode a bug fest when i press “take photo”? Obviously, i have a work around that also allows me to directly upload to my steam account in the cloud

[?] How to get steam link working with my iPad. My iPad insists ONLY on seeing my gaming machine and not the steamdeck. HM. I do know I can force it by turning off iPad’s wireless network and connecting it to the steamdeck via a wired Ethernet cable and the adapters sitting on my desk. That’s a later thing. Tonight? Tomorrow? TBD.

To do:

[ ] Install BG3 while I am sleeping (lol— it will take hours)

[ ] Install some other games that are lighter weight

[ ] Install and format the SD card that arrived a few hours ago

[ ] Set up my SDE tools on the extra space that. The SD card will provide

[ ] Bang on steam link until it works with my iPad Pro (bigger screen!)

[ ] Finish replicating the set up of some guy on YT who uses his iPad Pro + Steamdeck as his lightweight travel laptop for software dev when flying to other places — he inspired me to do this so, it better work!! ;)

[ ] Play some more CP77 while tweaking settings until it is smooth and buttery. Or as smooth and buttery as possible. Honestly, it feels good.

#I know from experience that I have an easier time with airport security #when i have simple devices like ipads and portable game devices #and I have had too many near misses with my laptop in prior travel situations #and laptops are too fucking expensive these days #especially honkin graphics beasts #so nope nope nope #plus mine is too damn heavy and barely fits in those safes in hotel closets #it is just too fucking big #so no #we’re going crazy hacker gamer shit this winter #too many airports #too many rando rando places #too much chaos #need smallish things that I can shove in a shoulder bag

i wish i hadn't made it into this year's play tbh

#one of my classmates who's a senior and really involved with it told me to my face that this year's production is gonna be a shitshow #and so far it's been living up to it smh #no scheduling the only way to communicate abt it is a fucking facebook chat and now i'm missing the second rehearsal bcs of a trip i'm #ALREADY anxious abt bcs i have to miss that whole day of school #i just..... really don't want to deal with it #kiwifae says shit #honestly i think after this i'm taking a break from theatre for a year or two #i was so relieved when i thought i botched my audition and idk the thought of going onstage doesn't bring joy anymore #i don't want to be in this play but i really don't wanna be the kid who drops it after i said i would #especially bcs i'm in ensemble and i don't want it to be seen as me being pissy i'm not the main character #but. i just so don't want to be doing it for some reason #just seeing the days i'm going in and thinking abt tech week is just making me feel awful and dread it #i'm already having trouble with the changing season and the rehearsals go to five so i'm barely gonna see the sun #fuck i just don't want this #i wish i never auditioned and i wish i could leave without being seen like that and i'm dreading going to all those rehearsals #this might partially be the winter season and it being kinda late affecting me but god i wish i never tried out #vent #+random crying fit about this 🙄

Do you have a set appearance for the reader? Like when you write do you think of anything in particular or do they just look like you in your mind?

i do! they’re just picrews of each variant of Reader because i haven’t had the time or motivation to draw like. a “set” appearance of them, but i needed something to look back on when i would struggle with writing them

in order, we have the Reader, the Lunatic, and the Watcher

they are supposed to look however you imagine them, which is why i try my best to use inclusive and neutral language anytime i need to describe something (like “she brushed her hand over your hair” instead of “through your hair”, yknow?)
