The most annoying characters in eah

This is not my opinion this is genuine fact. I don’t mean that in a joking way.

Apple White: this is obvious. I mean she forced destiny on to people, then has character development then has a fucking To Coda or whatever and goes onto the same bs she started on.

Holly O’Hair: in the show she was cool. I don’t mean that as in ‘I like her’ or ‘she has a cool design’ like genuinely, she was cool as fuck, which the other characters thought as well. But in the books… I 100% that either everyone found her extremely annoying or she was on the spectrum (WHICH COULD HAVE BEEN SUCH COOL REPRESENTATION IF DONE CORRECTLY). Like her whole personality was ‘I’m a ✨wrITer✨. I don’t feel that fact checking rn (what im about to say is right just aren’t examples drawn from the book) but she would randomly use words like serendipity and indubitably. And also someone asked POPPY how she got into being a hairdresser and Holly started telling Poppy’s life story. AND IT WAS LIKE A WHOLE CHAPTER LONG OF HOLLY JUST SAYING NOTHING.

Ginger Breadhouse: same thing with Holly. Fine in the series but in the books… okay actually she’s not that bad. But she was lowkey a pick me. Just her internal monologue. I just didn’t like how 13 year old girl she was over hopper. She made such a big deal for what. Anyways the part of kiss and spell where ginger kisses hopper and she’s his true love but everyone thinks it’s briar… stupid af. Lowkey briar x ginger.

Sparrow Hood: I mean this is literally canon. I would find some random redhead constantly screeching with an electric guitar that somehow always has an amplifier annoying too.

Courtley Jester: her voice alone is annoying

Justine Dancer: what do you mean to tell me ‘Justine Dancer, the youngest of the twelve dancing sisters […] But who does not yet know her fairytale destiny.’ (Moonlight Mystery). My girl be lacking braincells. Especially since she’s a double Royal people would be so sick of her wondering her destiny. Hmm you have 11 older sisters and your mom was a dancing princess… I wonder what your destiny could possibly be.

Meeshell Mermaid: again with the inner monologue. ‘In sea we all sing beautiful choir together and everyone’s voice is equally beautiful, except for Coral that’s why she’s the sea witch 🎀🐠. But fsr on land my voice is the most beautiful ever’ and don’t forget the ‘no headmaster Grimm I don’t want any Accommodations for being a mermaid because ppl will treat me differently *cutely forgets that’s there’s literally fairies, witch, ogres, giants at eah and she’s nothing special* so because I’m don’t excepting any accommodations people are treating me weird because I need accommodations to fit in’. Also her singing is shit.

Gus + Helga Crumb: self explanatory

Cerise Hood: ⛓️I’m so different🐺 💔no one understands me🐾 I’m sorry but she legit talks and thinks like this. Also I can’t remember if it was the year book or royals & rebels but like there was a catagory that said bffa’s and cerise put something along the lines of ‘I could never have friends no one would know the true me.’ And then raven legit put Cerise down as one of her bffa’s. Cerise bffr. She’s so Wattpad alpha female coded

9. he gets really mad when another merchant starts spreading false rumors about his store having illegally high prices and having terrible customer service (to which saber says the latter is true tho lol). he's running a business but he keeps his prices fair thank you very much!!! (and when later he's going to charge iori 100000 for the plate for aria he's willing to lower the price for making a statue of him (mentioned later)

8. when he meets cu they have an instant cat/dog reaction to each other where they act like bitter exes i love it

7. after the other servants get possessed iori and saber asks how he was able to not be affected, and gil basically says he was built different lololol. a reference both to his divinity and how he's unable to be corrupted by grail mud

6. when he goes looking in another part of town with iori and saber he keeps wandering off by himself like a kid at the grocery store, only to criticize the other two for not keeping up with him

5. he's so cute with the local kids!! he knows them by name and spends time hanging out with them to the point where it becomes trouble to his business at times lmao

4. when you do his optional boss fight he dons a japanese version of his archer armor WHAT A WEEB. it looks so good tho!!!

3. HE SPENDS THREE DAYS AND NIGHTS MAKING PERFECT CANDY SCULPTURES OF HIMSELF!!!!! LOSER!!!!! HE'S SO CUTE!!!!!!!!!!! I WANT ONE!!!!!!

2. when gil finds out iori carves buddha statues in his spare time he asks iori to carve a statue of him!!!! to attract customers!!!!! ITS SO CUTE ITS SO CUTE WHEN YOU SELL THEM BACK TO HIM HE'S GENUINELY IMPRESSED. and the flavor text of "the gentle smile was iori's artistic license" LMAO

PART. 3 BABY OF BEING CRINGY ABOUT MY OWN AU

LET'S GOOOOOO (Big send of too this chapter, holy shit)

Lol so like: One thing I didn't wanna do was suppress how much Zelda meant to Shadow Link's character arc for the sake of Vidow "Working".

Shadow Link does love Zelda FYI our mans is Bi. Idk if you noticed...but this whole comic is just polycule central there's no shipping wars, you can ship everyone basically. X'D

Zelda was a huge role in Shadow Link's character development to being a good boy, so it's only natural he's attached to her. (This will also be shown in the next chapter...Hehe)

Also the way his emotions around Vio are so charged that the best way he can put it to words is Vio is "Really cool" is like, so dumbly sweet. Bro can't properly even word how much he adores this man.

Shadow Link has made it no secret he wants to be buds with Vio for reals this time, and he's also 100% not interested in helping Gannon. So...There really ISN'T a reason Vio and him should have the same issues Vio was worried about. Thus, he tries to sooth Vio's fears.

*cough cough cough* gay. Shadow Link's so anxious about asking.

Lol so I got a "Writing rule" for Vio...He ain't gonna cry till I crack him completely like an egg. X'D He will get very close tho: Like this moment.

The way I put blush on the nose area specifically indicates someone's like, close to crying or is crying. I just like this face particularly because there's so much shit going on in that head of his.

The start of the hug is so damn awkward (Intentionally so)

The wording leaves it so ya can't help but think he hoped the introducing of their friendship would change Vio's mind about being Link again...That his words earlier were just mad ramblings and not how he actually felt. But with a clear head Vio verbally says he still wants to be Link again.

The book is one about healing magic...What kinds are in there I wonder. ;) A refrence...to a past Selda game mayhaps?~

Also this frame of Shadow Link full blown ugly crying while pretending to be fine is so hilarious to me idk if it comes off as sad or funny but it's kinda both to me. X'D

Mans is crying for him and Vio at this point.

Vio putting the book down in favor of comforting Shadow Link is just kinda one of those things that like, if he had ignored Shadow Link the reader would have noticed, but him being like, decent is smth that isn't nearly as "noticeable" (Like, ya typically notice a character being shitty WAY MORE than you notice all the subtle things they do that are just, kind.)

Also Shadow still wants to be helpful even though he's like, sobbing his eyes out. X'D

He also tries to hide from Vio lmao. Vio saw the water works bro.

Quite a few things:

Shadow's still toxic, just a little. X'D He WANTS Vio around, he misses him like crazy and does not want him to leave, AT ALL. This is very obvious lmao.

But he's also at the point where he knows he can do better than just screaming and throwing tantrums like he did as a kid. But his true feelings about how betrayed he feels Vio still wants to be Link are STILL THERE. Even if he chooses to try and hide them.

Also funny detail: Vio blushing was a lowkey gag because of the whole "They're both attracted to red flags" joke.

You could also take it as him being scared shitless, which he IS.

While he can't take back snapping at Vio, he certainly realizes his mistake very quickly and apologizes. So that's SOMETHING at least. (Considering the type of person he was before, a relapse or two is expected lmao.) I think him still having a certain level of anger management issues makes his character overall more interesting.

I like to think the only reason Vio gave him any patience for that, was because Shadow Link has been nothing but patient and there for him all night and he knows Shadow is emotional as fuck.

As Vio gave him shit for the fight with Blue earlier showed, Vio doesn't tolerate Shadow's crap when he's just being a violent shithead.

Hahaha. Remember when Link outright stated Vio wanted to be Vio and not Link. :) Link sure is a way more reliable narrator than...idk...The guy who lies...

*Whispers gently into your ear* Vio's not being very truthful here...

Notice: He only. ONLY brings up "Logical" reason...not his actual FEELINGS on the matter... He SAYS "I don't want to be Vio"

WHY. WHY!? TELL US WHY VIO!!!

He does have a reason but he's not tellin' lmao.

So, in the book it's not really...SPECIFIED where Shadow Link came from? Like I think all it says is "Gannon drew him out of the dark mirror"

...THAT IS SO UP FOR INTERPRETATION AND BRINGS UP SO MANY QUESTIONS:

Did he have a life in the dark world and was just, TOLD to do Gannon's bidding? His line of "I'm your living reflection in the dark world" MAYBE supports this idea...??? KINDA?

But my issue with that is: Shadow Link gives NO indication he has had a past in the dark world, like...at all. Nothing. No mention of family (Which...Reasonably wouldn't he have a dark version of Link's father???) He's the ONLY PERSON who's implied to be FROM the dark world. Also...The dark mirror isn't REALLY implied to be a PORTAL... The seal on Vaati and his demons was, but Shadow Link wasn't freed from that, Gannon "Drew him from the dark mirror" to release Vaati...So uh...HMMMM His also distinct lack of his OWN name kinda makes me go ???? Like...His NAME is Shadow Link...Like that's not a nickname. That's his NAME. (Like this just weirds me out because of a cannon "Reflection" of Link: in Ravio. Who like...HAS HIS OWN NAME???? ik Ravio isn't from the "Dark world", he's from Lowrule, but point still stands this is odd.)

Suffice to say, there's just not enough info here to draw a conclusion for me? So I gotta make shit up. X'D Shadow Link was created out of Link's Shadow by Gannon in FSR. This is also the reason he resembles a Gerudo male. Cause Gannon said "Mm yes, my evil Link sona will have my heritage. UwU"

Shadow link realizing he almost made Vio cry is so funny to me.

Vio looks so fucking pathetic there. lmfao.

Shadow's words only hit again like Link has stated: Shadow knows Vio

Whether intentionally or not: what he says hits Vio like a ton of bolders.

He's very hesitant to keep talking though because he doesn't want to hurt Vio either.

It's like, he's AWARE he's telling Vio this shit because he WANTS him to stay, but you also can't deny Shadow's at least CORRECT in a lot of his statements. How far should he push that though? Hmm.

His "Oh my god you're an idiot" face is hilarious. Shadow's like "You still don't get what I'm laying down dude??? REALLY!?"

Lmao. That panel before they kiss is basically my favorite in the entire comic rn. X'D

Shadow pulling away and squishing Vio's face is also a favorite. Vio's just cute and squishable.

Vio stating the obvious: That his mental breakdown wasn't Shadow's fault. (Wasn't really anybody's fault it was inevitable, especially with the curse/Dark Link active)

Lmao. Vio's kinda dumb as bricks sometimes too. X'D

Shadow Link's fucking deadpan stare while Vio rants is so hilarious to me. Also the direct quoting of Vio instead of paraphrasing making his statement sound even more stupid.

Also fun dialogue thing: You'll notice the characters stutter or like, pause weirdly, Because I like writing dialogue a little more realistic. Like Shadow Starts off as "I-was" instead of like "W-was" like he thought of saying smth completely different at first or his mouth moved before his brain did. X'D

Their banter is fun, Vio's his sassy self. Shadow giving him all the kisses we desired...

Okay ngl this page hurts me X'D Like. Ouch. All of it hurts.

Because of how Link kinda abandoned Shadow Link (Even though he was always there) Shadow is OBVIOUSLY very hesitant to let go. It's super obvious Vio doesn't wanna let go either.

Also Vio kissing him back surprises Shadow. X'D He's still bamboozled Vio is receptive to his affection oof... (Would like to show him getting more comfy with it as the comic goes on like "Holy shit, nah he's not playing around with me he fr-")

They mean so much to each other. QuQ

Okay to make you laugh in these very serious panels: Because Shadow's floating Vio's standing on his tip toes.

weird post and not poll related but. ursula k le guin's work got nominated to canon polycule (the short stories w the polyamorous planet) so im thinkin maybe some of this blog's followers are fans of her books and i was wondering if any of you guys could tell me about Tales of Earthsea? i only ever watched the Ghibli movie which from what i've heard is a terrible adaptation (its also kind of a weak and slow movie but i like it fsr) and id love to read the story but i have Issues w books like i just cant focus no matter how much i like it, i maybe get through one book a year even tho i love reading 😭😭

i plan on googling it but id like to hear more personal opinions before reading a full essay if anyone has one they'd like to share? infodumping is encouraged btw 💖

Hello, there! Thanks for being my first request! Sorry I didn't answer this sooner, I had a bit of trouble writing this fsr.

Anyways, you said you want a large (500-word) chocolate (reverse comfort) with mini-marshmallows (day off/break), topped with chocolate syrup (comfort wild card), peanuts (weather wild card), whipped cream (plain wild card), and a dash of rainbow sprinkles (another plain wild card)? Well, I'm right on it!

I hereby name this fic...

Your first day off in weeks, and it's because of a freak storm with neon green lightning? Thus banishing you indoors, with roughly two thousand coworkers and seven thousand guests? Unable to soak in some sun and breathe in the fresh saltwater air? You wanna make a noise of complaint, but which one... Bah, humbug?

You know what, sure! Bah humbug to the weather, and bah humbug to all the noise it's created while you're at it! All of the cracking and chattering is going to drive you insane. You need an escape from all of this, but you don't want to go hide away in the tiny, cramped cabin you've gotten. Which is exactly why you headed to the ship's mostly-neglected library. A place that would've been replaced long ago if it weren't for Mister Ashengrotto's idea to create crewmen-only library cards.

So, after a quick trip to your cabin for more comfortable clothes, you headed straight there. And, just as you hoped, it was mostly empty. With only a few coworkers, and even fewer guests. One of whom you instantly recognized, what with all of his days sitting at your bar. He even had the same worried expression etched onto his face! What was his name again..? Oh, right! Lucifer!

Rolling your eyes, you find and grab a book from the nearby section; the mystery section. You then found a seat, around two tables in front of your raven-haired regular. A few minutes of relative silence passes, and you became engrossed in your chosen story. But just after the dective found the first body, the silence was broken.

"You're Mammon's coworker, correct?"

Looking up, you lock eyes with Lucifer. His worried expression from earlier had hardened.

"Yeah... Why do you ask?" You ask, eyebrows knitting in confusion.

"I just wanted to inform you that Mammon has a bad habit of attempting to steal things."

"'Attempting'? So he hasn't actually succeeded?"

"Not for a few hundred years, no."

"Why haven't you tried telling me this before?"

"I didn't want him to get upset and cause a scene. If he had, my brothers and I's vacation would have been ruined." Lucifer explained. You had to hand it to him, he's been very forthcoming with the information. But that last sentence of his confused you greatly.

"So- wait-" Book in hand, with a finger acting as a bookmark, you stood from your seat and walked over to the demon. You only continued talking after you claimed the seat in front of him. "How do you know Mammon, exactly?"

"Why are you asking?" Lucifer questioned, suspicion painted on his face.

"Because I've been working with him for some months now, and nothing's happened. No missing money, utensils, anything!"

"He hasn't even stolen food?" Lucifer asked. Something about the way he said it made him seem smug. Like he knew you couldn't prove him wrong.

"Crewmen don't have to pay for food," You stated. Lucifer's reaction was flat like your voice, disappointing you slightly. Mentally, you rolled your eyes, before thinking over your next words carefully. Thankfully, they came to you a few seconds later. "Look, I know you have good intentions; but you don't have to worry about Mammon ruining your vacation. You're doing that on your own, with that watchdog-schtick-thing."

"And how would you know?" Lucifer asked, raising an eyebrow as he lightly emphasized 'how'.

"Because you've had this worried expression this entire week- up until this conversation started, of course." You said, pointing to his upper face.

"You could see that?"

"Dude, I was an actual bartender before getting this job. I can recognize a lightweight just from seeing them walk. And that includes the alcoholic ones!" You boasted, and for the first time in the entire week you've known him, Lucifer smiled.

"Mammon's my younger brother," Lucifer admitted, his words surprising you. "He's been cursed with eternal greed, and unfortunately, it's gotten him into severe debt with numerous people."

"I'll keep an eye out, then." You swore with a nod. "And, if it's any constellation, he makes over five hundred bucks a week. And, from what he's said, he's signed an eight-month contract with the Crux..."

"So he'll be over sixteen-thousand dollars closer to fixing his own problems." Lucifer finished.

Pet Peeve: People NEED to stop thinking that "comfort zone" means "familiarity zone". Please for the love of fuck, stop. I'm begging people, please stop thinking that's what it means, please. Much much much longer post about this under the cut.

I really do not expect people to read this, it's cool, it's fine, but I've seen 2 posts about it that really fucking crossed my buns. Comfort zones exist for a reason, and they're something that needs to be respected. "New experience" is not synonymous with discomfort. They are not mutually inclusive. If what a person means is "what you're familiar with" say that; don't say "what you're comfortable with". Especially the whole "step outside your comfort zone" trope in media typically where a shy character is forced to do something more social than they're comfortable with, and then it all turns out fine and now they're popular and everybody was right to disrespect their boundaries and wishes. It sucks!!! It's bad!!! Learning can be comfortable. New experiences can exist within a person's comfort zone. If somebody says they're uncomfortable w something, maybe don't tell them to "step outside" their comfort zone; maybe listen and understand and respect them? Being willing to try new things is often inside the bounds of a person's comfort zone. Because they're comfortable trying it or intrigued by the sound of it or they want to try something new, read a new book, learn a new hobby, whatever. But people are different from each other and have their own limits and boundaries, and if something makes them uncomfortable, maybe don't try to make them or expect them to be like you? Your experiences aren't universal. Like, fuck's sake, I know I don't like a certain ingredient or food, and people will tell me "you just haven't had 'good' [x]" and I used to try their mom's recipe or whatever to be polite, but to no surprise, I knew myself better than they did!!! I don't need to "step outside my comfort zone" and try [y] that has [z] in it when [z] is an uncomfortable experience. Inside my comfort zone are new things that I'm comfortable with and will turn out to be comfortable with. By definition, outside of it is discomfort. There is nothing to be gained there. Comfort and familiarity are not the same thing. When people say "comfort zone" and mean "familiarity zone", it's infuriating, because comfort zones matter!?!?!? ??? The familiarity zone is the smallest. That's everything a person already knows. That's what people should be offering people things outside of to try. Outside the familiarity zone is the novelty zone. That's new things that people can explore and discover that they'll be comfortable with, because outside that is the actual comfort zone, where everything a person is comfortable with, familiar or novel or nescient to. Everything in the comfort zone is what a person will be comfortable experiencing, new or otherwise. Outside that, is the discomfort zone, containing uncomfortable and upsetting experience, familiar or new. They may be ultimately harmless, or only mildly or temporarily harmful, causing slight distress or anxiety or physical discomfort or such, and includes the things that a person tries and finds they're ultimately uncomfortable with. And outside that is the hazard zone, where things are outright dangerous, severely or long-term. It's this:

I mean that's simplified because novelty extends into hazards and discomfort. The chart is illustrating that comfortable new experiences are in the bounds of a person's comfort zone. Comfort isn't something to be belittled as a moral failing or something the be eschewed. It's there for a reason??? The mentality that comfort zones should be broken and erased is so weird. They're there for a reason. Trying new things doesn't mean ignoring your comfort zone. Those are different things. People seem to think that ignoring boundaries and limits is healthier fsr. Because people conflate familiarity with comfort. New experiences can be sought within comfort. People often seek new experiences. They seek them out. Because they're comfortable with that. But then suddenly when it's something somebody says they're uncomfortable with, it's all "step outside your comfort zone" when they MEAN "try new things" as if they don't ever try new things??? This is one of my biggest pet peeves ever. If somebody expresses being uncomfortable with doing something they haven't done, whether it's skydiving or eating something they say they know they wouldn't like, or public speaking or whatever, don't try to coerce or shame them. Accept their boundaries & move on. The whole thing is like telling people "feel worse". It smacks of the whole conservative "grow some thicker skin" mentality tbh. Just let people be comfortable!?!?!? And like... if somebody never ever tries anything new, maybe offer new experiences and respect if they turn them down. That is much healthier. Listen to people? It's simple. This is especially important when it comes to autistic people with safe foods and textures and routines by the way. That and anxiety disorders and other neurodivergencies are a big part of why this is important. So much of that "step outside" mentality - especially the trope in TV - is just "you should act neurotypical instead of having these boundaries". It's "you shouldn't be shy, that's wrong" or "you should like this food" or "you should [x z y]". It sucks, it's bad, it really fucking candies my apples, and it's wrong, because growth is included in comfort.

I so completely understand this bit, because personally, I'm exhaustingly clueless about a lot of media that people are usually just raving on and on about and it's not usually because I don't want to watch it, but there are these attention deficit tendencies that love visiting me on a regular basis that just won't let me sit down, load a show and watch it till the end😭 I mean, I watched the 1st iron man movie 16 years after it first came out so🥲and it wasn't for a lack of trying, I've been meaning to watch it for the past 8 years or so and I just got around to it. honestly it's a miracle I read all the Acotar books to the end lol

Oooh gosh, I guess it’s up to you? There’s still a lot of the story left to write—I’d say we’re probably either half or two thirds of the way there in terms of storyline and events that will happen. It’s not going to be over any time soon, basically, which is both exciting and pretty scary 😭

Honestly I think the tension is in the first half, if that makes sense? (Which it probably doesn’t since you don’t know reader’s fate, but 🤷) There’s going to be a ‘half’ chapter which adds in some contexts to reader’s history, but I think after chapter 15, that should be where the tension relaxes a bit? I like to think that in *very* broad terms, chapters 1 through 15 are the ‘hurt’ ones, and 16 onward will be the ‘comfort’ ones? There are still going to be intense moments but she might not have to be on her own anymore (provided she learns to seek help when she needs it)

Yes! Like I’m happy with how Feysand turned out, but I would have been fine if Rhys stayed ‘evil’ for a bit longer 🫢 just a few more scenes of him being super scary and Feyre being wary of him 🤭

I feel like even as soon as he first visited her in her cell, there was a suggestion he wasn’t that bad? Especially after we learned only one person bet on her winning? Ignoring how acotar characters would write that off as a whim, from a storytelling standpoint that’s a pretty clear way of singling a character out and making them significant 🤭

I didn’t hate him in the first book or any other after that, BUT, I did definitely get frustrated with him during the High Lords’ meeting 😭 I kind of wish we got his perspective on that, or at least more about his character? Because Feyre dismantling stability within the Spring Court was quite a brash move I think, and one she might have decided against if she wasn’t having to deal with so many other matters as well as sorting through her own emotions? Because she definitely went through a lot 😭

I guess I feel that Tamlin has a lot of anger in general, which can make him impulsive and volatile at times—like when Feyre first realised she could make a shield in his office—and I’d love to see Sarah explore that more!!

I mean, I think it’s made more complicated because of immersion and how emotionally connected some people feel to characters? I was having a conversation about how we all read the same books but it’s interesting there’s such a vast range of opinions? Like some people really hate Nesta, which I can see why I suppose but I personally love her 🧡💛

I think the problem starts when people get too attached to characters that they’re unable to speak objectively about them? I’m definitely guilty of this too though 😭 one of my friends read acotar and was saying something about Az and how they didn’t like him and I straight up asked them to stop because I knew it would upset me 😭 (they did, which was kind of them ☹️)

The tension being set up both in the one bed at the inn scene and the Court of Nightmares moment just made the resolution really enjoyable for me! Not so much the smut part, but when Rhys finds her in the cabin and they end up having a heart to heart, and Rhys tells her more about his history? It just made me feel so happy for them so I know what you mean about wanting them to get together!

I don’t have it to that extent, but I know that on a smaller scale, I like having music or videos playing in the background while I work? Especially while doing more domestic work like the washing up, changing my sheets, generally tidying etc. it makes the process so much easier, and I won’t get bored of the work or feel guilty for relaxing during ‘work hours’ on weekends

I’m pretty new to the VC fandom, and your work was some of the first VC fanfic I ever read , and definitely the first VC fanfic I really got invested in. Your one shot series on a03 was like an introduction into the fandom for me, fsr I found them really approachable as a newbie. I remember reading your Nickistat stuff while I was reading The Vampire Lestat, and it feeling almost like your work was like a special extension of the book for me, lol. So even though I’ve now found many other VC fanfics that I enjoy as much as yours, your fics hold a special place in my heart because the experience of reading them was so closely linked with my experience reading the books and entering this fandom that I love dearly (that I’ve been apart of for over eight months now!) FSR rambles PT 4

Over explaining the decisions in my own comic once again. UwU

Smth fun about these pages is ZELDA. My lady.

Something I'm not sure was how well this portrayed that this was shortly after they put the sword back (like maybe a year at most?)

I kind of like to think for FSR at least, they were all around 13-15 during the events of the manga (This isn't my opinion tbh, though in the bonus pages they buy child tickets for the theme park so they aren't canonically adults.)

Link's old enough to drink in FSR so he's at least 21.

(I've never really liked the idea they're YOUNG kids during FS it just lends itself better to FSR specifically. I really write them however old I want for whatever scenario I'm writing because Link's as fluid as a Vocaloid when it comes to making fan works and cannon is my bitch. Writing them as adults during the events of the manga usually lends itself to MORE writing opportunities but not for FSR. I don't really give a shit what other people decide to do when making fan works either.)

You'd also notice the 7 years it takes FS Link to pull the sword is a reference to the seven years Link misses during OOT.

Anyways onto the page itself: Zelda's a sweet girl who cares deeply about her childhood friend. Link means a lot to her and she makes time for him. He waits for her too. Zelink shippers I got you lol.

Something I always found WEIRD was how Link doesn't talk in the pages after he reformed. That's so odd to me. The fan "theory" It's basically cannon in BOTW/TOTK at least Link's selectively mute. That Link's mute is also something I took inspiration for FSR Link.

So Link doesn't respond to Zelda verbally but she still makes the effort to talk to him.

Shadow Link is very disapointed he can't get hugged by the princess. Because as he stated earlier in the comic he loves her. Zelda addressed him too so she tries to include him.

This page shows off just how gradual the curse was: So funny enough at the START of the comic it was actually going to be explained how Link utterly deteriorated but I decided to add that later. (Wanted to get to funny shenanigans with the boys so I put it off)

It started with him just hearing whispers, then full voices then the what I call "Headspace" fully appeared.

Blue mentions liking Zelda's hugs Haha "Where's my hug???"

Vio just says Zelda's name, Vio's relationship with Zelda is something I'd love to expand upon later down the line.

Green's more focused on food oof.

Red's just happy to see Zelda.

Green was right about being hungry, so Zelda invites him over for DINNER-

Shadow Link's still just vibing.

Zelda lifting Link up in this panel just shows she's there for him.

Link is just dealing with the fact he can hear them by himself. Also dad is still alive.

Lol he's actually making his dad proud which was something he didn't do often before the OG book.

Zelda hanging out with Link and his father kind of shows them as a family.

Shadow Laughing in the bg but he's away from the rest.

So the captain died in a fight, and Link blames himself for it because he can't think straight when there's 4 people constantly talking.

Daddy's demise was really the start of the snowballing downhill for him.

Lol. So Vio's daddy issues are apparent for the SECOND time in the comic. He was uncomfortable even bringing up Link's dad before and this is partially the reason why:

Vio's the only one not crying or overtly emotional about their dad dying.

But something to consider is if he's truly talking to Link or himself in that panel. Because the man is still SHOOK. We have the liberty of SEEING Vio here, but Link doesn't.

So he takes this statement very poorly because:

Well, Vio's seeming "no shits given" attitude is unsettling enough coming from an outside source but that IS apart of Link.

A part of him, seemingly doesn't care his own father kicked the bucket and that's scary to him.

I think anybody would have lost it at this point.

Too bad Zelda saw Link screaming his lungs out at his father's grave lmao. Poor man.

Bro can't do anything but plead for Zelda to help him at this point. She's really the only person he feels he can turn too anyway.

Our girl comes in clutch with them hugs.

This was the conformation Link was actually not speaking in the comic Felt like I had to outright state it cause I wasn't sure if people would notice it otherwise.

Something I REALLY wish was a thing in Zelda manga:

Zelda and Link BOTH lose their parents. Usually their mothers.

And we never get any sort of bonding over that. And I find that a complete waste of potential.

I'd like to dive further into that with FSR or some other Zelda work I do because: HOLY SHIT THEY COULD BOND OVER THEIR LOST PARENTS????

Also Zelda's unfortunate phrasing here with "You can talk to me" she means just, that he can confide in her in general lol.

He's still struggling to actually speak. Poor guy.

While keeping him from doing knight duties kept him PHYSICALLY safe it was just another thing he lost to the curse Vaati laid on him.

So the obvious: Zelda had to watch the person she cares about most completely fall apart before her eyes and she couldn't do shit.

They weren't even aware this WAS A CURSE from Vaati mind you. They were completely in the dark trying to solve this.

Something horrific about this situation you might have also considered:

Not only did Zelda have to watch Link deteriorate but so did Shadow Link.

Shadow Link couldn't even offer much comfort. Zelda could offer physical comfort and attempt emotional comfort but Shadow was completely fucked.

And with the new context of "Link was mostly mute" the fact he wasn't actively TALKING to Shadow Link makes a lot more sense.

Still didn't make that fact any less painful in the moment.

Shadow literally could not participate, was isolated and lonely and had to watch someone else slowly get isolated and lonely and couldn't even help.

Link and Shadow Link literally felt the same way and could not help each other even though they were right next to each other all that time.

Also with the new context of what Link was going through, Shadow's persistence to be there for Vio starts to make a whole lot more sense: He can actually DO something now.

Vio's just stating the obvious at this point and his broken record nature really pissed Link off.

I'm sure you noticed what he wore color wise matched his emotions lol.

Vio technically is 100% right: They think Gannon is in the sword. It would literally be INSANE to pull it knowing that.

But Link's kinda at the point of not giving a shit.

Zelda would get hurt no matter what his "solution" to the problem ended up being.

Shadow Link trying to cheer Link up by reminding him he's there is so sad. Mghhhh

And for the first time in the flashback we actually have Link fully acknowledge Shadow Link's presence.

Vio was outright in denial the man was still alive and didn't want to acknowledge his existence so Link fully embracing Shadow Link here was a big moment between the two of them.

Shadow Link started to figure out what the man was planning but couldn't do squat about it. (He also couldn't communicate with the 4 or HEAR THEM.)

Link shows up in the head space! :D

His words imply he wasn't SURE he could properly communicate with Green like this alone...Which is no surprise considering Vio thinks how odd it is they were able to do that in the first place.

I kinda scrambled to think of what to have him look like hah. Ended up with him wearing white. Since white is the lack of color, white reflects all wavelengths of light so it literally kinda REJECTS color. (Apposed to Black which absorbs light, which funny enough his pants are black...)

And it symbolizes rebirth, peace stuff like that.

It can also symbolize death but we're ignoring that one lmao.

His nails are all the colors + Shadow Link too.

Lmfao when you gaslight yourself.

Okay in all seriousness the Link lays down just how DIRE the situation is since the other 3 don't seem to be quite aware.

And the "Promise" Green made to Link is what had Green so shook at the start of the comic for.

And the weight of the line "Can I trust you?" really sinks in as we'll see.

Link's kinda spooky haha. You can tell he wasn't sure Green was going to help him but that's quickly overtaken by how overjoyed he is Green is for sure on board.

One of my favorite panels from this batch is how happy he is. He's so relived he can finally just rest.

Green can't though. The crushing weight of keeping everything "Okay" is a heavy burden to bare and Dark Link spits those words right back into Green's face, and just holds him.

Green doesn't seem to hate the hug as much as Vio did hah.

Green doesn't even seem to acknowledge his presence while Vio not only NOTICED but was actively terrified of him to the point of trying to grab his sword.

He also mocked Vio more throwing Vio's own words back in his face, but just repeats what Link said to Green.

How. Odd.
