Fo4 Companions react to a Sole who is very affectionate part 2!
Well howdy y’all long time no see sorry once more that this took so long unfortunately my motivation has been lacking and my mind is in a billion other places but none the less I hope you enjoy the second part! As always thank you for the request and happy reading much love as always, Ashley!
Hancock: This man lived for Sole’s attention and affection because let’s be honest he gave it right back and never got tired of returning Sole’s hugs, cheek smooches, and long cuddle sessions. Sole always had a hand somewhere on his body rubbing slow soft circles on his skin causing him to feel all tingly inside and making his insides turn to mush, Hancock would sling an arm around them and pull Sole closer to his side and let himself just melt into there touch while he rode his high allowing these soft moments between them to just consume him entirely. If they were both hanging out at the third rail Sole was usually curled up into Hancock’s side almost like a cat, content to hide away under his coat or wrap their arms around him while whispering sweet nothings into his ear or telling jokes only the two of them understood causing long fits of laughter from the both of them. Also let’s be honest these two in general are goofy as fuck constantly starting tickle fights with Sole trying to find any ticklish spot on Hancock’s body. Sole is always miserably failing but to be fair he certainly doesn’t mind them trying and it gives him a chance to get his hands back on Sole’s body and with the way Sole gasp and wriggles around it can quickly lead to other things that require a lot less clothing and a lot more touching.
Cait: She spent years trying to gain the affection she craved from her parents even though they never cared about her or paid her a lick of attention unless it was to their benefit. Cait never trusted anyone since or went out of her way to love anyone or be loved in return because she figured at the end of the day if anyone tried to show affection they were just trying to use her, it was a hard mindset to get out of especially when most people and creatures in the wasteland just wanted to kill you. Sole was literally different though she was a person out of time just trying to do what was right and make their way through this changing world and Cait was drawn to them from the start because with them there was never a hidden agenda, and they were always overly honest along with being affectionate. Even after traveling with Sole for months, Cait never quite got used to Sole pulling her into a big hug and being told how amazing she was all the time. Or when Sole would wrap their pinky around Cait’s in a loose form of hand-holding whenever Cait started to get anxious or scared about something, it had been so long since anyone showed them any real affection that it took a while for Cait to ever recuperate said affection but Sole never complained or pointed it out, and Cait didn’t think they could ever get over how lucky they were to have Sole.
MacCready: Sole reminded him so much of Lucy always being affectionate and putting others first even if that meant putting themselves in danger, they were constantly going out of their way to help him and his son even when he had nothing to give them in return. He was glad they stuck around though because even if he will never admit it he loved how Sole always smothered him with affection when they were around it was refreshing to have someone who cared, someone who would greet him with hugs and a shit ton of kisses whenever he came back home. Sole was constantly wrapping Mac up in hugs or holding onto hand and swinging them back and forth with a big grin on there face, or he loved lazy afternoons where he was just cleaning or working on his rifle and Sole had their head against his shoulder dozing off as they tried to snuggle deeper into his side or sometimes they would sit behind him with there head laying against his back and arms wrapped securely around his middle, refusing to let go. The best part was when everyone had settled down for the night and Sole was fast asleep tangled up in the sheets and Mac would walk in and see Duncan snuggled into Sole’s side sleeping soundly and it always made him smile and it was a sight he would never get tired of. He would quickly take off his gear and slide into bed, wrapping his arms around the two people he loved most and holding them tight. Sole would usually wake up and be sure to grab his hand and give an affectionate squeeze letting him know they were glad for his return home.
Deacon: He wasn’t much of a touchy-feely guy but Sole just grew on him until he felt weird if they weren’t being affectionate with him, though sometimes he had to remind them to tone it down or else they were gonna blow their cover out on missions. Sole would just shush them and say it was fine because it’s not like their disguises were going to melt away from too much affection, he was more worried about how much of a hot mess he turned into when Sole was holding his hand or laughing away as they were running a hand over his bald head saying how shiny it was, which never failed at making him laugh or crack a smile and joke about how Sole should shave their head to. He thought it was extra cute when Sole would complain about their hands being cold and would sneak a hand into his coat pocket or if they were feeling cheeky into his back pants pocket, not that he ever minded and sometimes would do the same thing back. He was always trying to hold back a smile whenever he felt Sole’s hand caress the back of his neck or lingered on his shoulder or find its way around his waist to pull him closer, whatever they did it always made his heart beat a little bit faster.
Danse: He was used to word’s of praise or a hearty slap on the back for a job well done but Sole’s level of attention and affection for him was a whole other ballpark, he had never encountered someone quite like them before. He was constantly reminding Sole to stay focused Whenever they started to hug him, making Sole just laugh and tease him more, enjoying how red his face got as he mumbled about them not having time for this kind of nonsense. Since Danse was in his power armor a lot Sole was always complaining about how difficult he was making it for them to hold his hand or give him surprise hugs how where they were supposed to love on him if he was always in a big hulking piece of machinery. He never really understood why they always felt the need to be so close to him but sometimes he would pretend not to notice that after they were done complaining Sole would just place a hand on the power armors hand instead all while continuing to pout to themselves, it always ended up making Danse smile everytime it happened. When Sole really wanted to get his attention they would climb up the back of his power armor in hopes of them getting a piggyback ride for awhile or so they could mess with his hair, depending on the situation he would sometimes allow them to do this all while trying to keep a straight face trying to not show that he heart honestly felt like it was about to burst from his chest because he thought Sole was just being to damn cute.
Nick: Affection was never Nick’s forte, sure he was used to the thank you’s and occasional praise from the people he helped out and of course he was grateful that his secretary Ellie cared enough to stay and watch his back. His introduction to Sole’s constant affection started when they came to bust him out of vault 114 and after getting him out of the situation with skinny Malone’s gang Sole instantly latched on to him and wouldn’t stop hugging him saying how glad they where to find him, he was confused as Hell but kinda just let it happen. It didn’t take him long to realize this was an all the time thing with Sole as they continued to work together, Sole just always wanted to be near to someone, to lean on or hold hands and sit close to them.He was worried at first about what the people of Diamond city would think if they saw the way Sole acted around him or worse what they would do, because it was one thing to work with a synth but to be affectionate with one so he was genuinely scared for Sole’s safety. That never stopped Sole before though and they didn’t care what everyone else thought so they kept holding his hand uncaring off the cold, metal digits laced between their fingers as they happily swayed their hands together back and forth, Nick thought he was going to go into a system overload from how sweet Sole was.

Late Night if no one has asked about it yet!
Rules: Post the names of all the files in your WIP folder, regardless of how non-descriptive or ridiculous. Let people send you an ask with the title that most intrigues them and then post a little snippet of it or tell them something about it! and then tag as many people as you like.
“Late Night” is a 4.4 set fic where Alisaie and Aeryn are both checking in on the fallen Archons, before the twins are taken by the Call and we have any clue what’s happened with our friends’ souls. They’re both very scared and vulnerable and missing their friends here. And willing to share more than they normally would.
I’ve two snippets for this one, because I enjoy quite a bit of it and really need to just get it out there.
“Can’t sleep either?” Aeryn asked. Alisaie was sitting in a chair between Urianger and Y’shtola’s beds, leaving Aeryn free to take the chair between Urianger and Thancred. She tried to not look or feel awkward as she moved to it and sat.
Alisaie shook her head. “I was already up answering letters from Professor Erik, and that expert on Mhach you mentioned, Cait-Sith. Odd name.”
Aeryn nodded. She reflected that she might have neglected to mention the latter was a talking, bipedal, 1500 year old house cat; that fact wasn’t terribly important yet.
“In any case, I’ve been trying to...I don’t know, check in, I suppose,” Alisaie said, looking to Urianger. “It’s difficult during the day, trying to keep busy, and I don’t want to get in the way of the caregivers. But, before I can even think about sleeping…”
“You want to check on them,” Aeryn said. “I feel much the same.”
Snippet the second under the cut:
Alisaie nodded. “I know. So far Krile and Tataru haven’t reported hearing the voice. But I keep worrying about…” She couldn’t quite make herself finish.
Aeryn looked down. The thought of Alphinaud, alone somewhere in the Empire, also hearing the voice, had occurred to her. If it claimed him too…
“I know I shouldn’t let it distract me,” Alisaie continued. “He would probably tease me for acting the worrywart…”
“He wouldn’t,” Aeryn said. “He’s your brother, Alisaie. I remember how he was, when you were poisoned by that Warrior of Darkness’ arrow. If anything, he’s probably just as concerned about the worry and stress his situation is causing you.” She smiled. “And likely expecting a cathartic thrashing once he’s safe again.”
Alisaie managed a wan smile in response. She sighed, looking over the others. “Honestly at this point, I might forgo it, if I can just have him here and awake. I’m sure he could help figure this out, with some random, obscure fact read somewhere once, or learned from a contact.” She looked at Aeryn. “I don’t suppose you’ve had any brilliant ideas, drawn from your myriad adventures and connections?”
Aeryn shook her head. “I just...was missing hi—them.” She bit her lip as Alisaie headtilted, having caught the near-slip. Aeryn looked at Thancred, too still to be simply sleeping, Kan-E’s words still echoing in her ears. “If I tell you something, promise me you won’t tell anyone else? Nor laugh?”
“Of course I won’t do either of those things.”
Aeryn hesitated. “Thancred and I, well…”
“Are having an affair?”
Aeryn blinked at her. Alisaie sighed. “Honestly, you’ve both been smitten with each other for ages. Ever since Ala Mhigo there’s been a noticeable—and welcome—shift, though you’ve tried to keep it under wraps.” Now it was Alisaie’s turn to pause. “Unless, of course, I and almost everyone else we know have managed to misread every hint and clue? Honestly, I’m just teasing based on rumors and gossip.”
Aeryn rubbed her eyes, her face burning. She recognized the out Alisaie was offering, and yet... “No, you have the right of it,” she muttered. She paused and peered at Alisaie through her fingers. “Everyone?”
“Well. Not quite--but, shall we say, enough.” The girl paused again, though this time to let a wicked grin spread across her lips. “‘Tis my understanding Y’shtola is keeping the bets for the various Company leaders as to which of our colleagues would not only suddenly realize, but accidentally blurt it out at the most embarrassing moment first.”
“...Please tell me that is a joke at my expense.”
Alisaie arched a brow. “I have a decent amount of gil and some of Rowena’s tomestones down on my own brother’s obliviousness, actually.” She grinned.
“Alisaie Leveilleur!”
“What? For all he tries so hard to impress girls, he’s utterly hopeless as to what’s happening with anyone else’s love lives, and his blind spot is especially bad with you--probably because he thinks of you as an older sister.”
Aeryn gave her a withering look, which only seemed to make Alisaie grin more. “Should I be flattered or insulted?” Aeryn asked.
Alisaie shrugged broadly. “Mayhap a bit of both,” she teased. Her smile faded as she looked to Thancred’s still form. “Though I’d be happy to forgo the whole pot if they’d just wake up again.”
