hey. if you're a live tapes enjoyer, do yourself a favor and go listen to the 03-01-2024 Grace Cathedral solo show tape. i listen to a lot of live tapes and this has hands down the most breathtakingly gorgeous acoustics I've ever heard. the way the church echoes is absolutely ethereal and the performance is haunting and beautiful. this tape is one for the books, for sure.

okay but the best thing about s3 is that the writers really understand that you can just plonk these 7 ish idiots into a room together and something interesting will always happen like sometimes it’s not about plot and fight scenes and emmy winning drama sometimes it’s about karaoke and balls of twine and sitting in the garden as a party winds down alright?

also damn i forgot how very dirty they did all the ladies in the xmen movies. rogue is alright, i actually really like her father/daughter thing with logan, but everyone else? jean is a sexy lamp with zero chemistry with EITHER man in her love triangle, storm mostly just shows up to remind you she's in this movie too and has no characterization whatsoever, and mystique is just. the concept of sex appeal.
yeesh, man.
also both storm and jean badly lose a fight to TOAD of all people. come on, he's like. a c-list villain at BEST. ooh he can jump and has a slimy tongue, scary. and they're 2 of the most powerful mutants on the fucking planet?????

whenever I see someone bitching that sokka's misogyny should be kept for the sake of his character I'm like would you be ok with it if he was racist instead? or if he was transphobic? I'm all for characters having flaws and growing out of them but why the flaw in question needs to be bigotry? why thinking women are inferior is not seen as a dealbreaker already, why must we tolerate it in boys under the premise that they might perhaps learn better eventually?
I feel a total hypocrite about this as a Problematic Media Enjoyer but a show as preachy as ATLA presenting oh ya teenage boys are misogynists and teenage girls will fix them (while the narrative continues to sideline girls all the damn time) this is a Good Engagement With Misogyny uwu is irritating. they could've made sokka an out and out sexist if that's what they wanted but no he's just 'magically cured' by a 'girlfriend' because she's a complete 'girlboss' (also girlboss feminism is fine when it's to redeem a misogynist male character but without any association to male upliftment is inherently problematic also)
