PerhapS??? maybe?????? someday???????????#also turned off the music to hear the statues whispering and the environment sure is something without the music#such windy ambient sounds#+ yeah the 'world...........forget me' chinese whispering near the statues which i saw pointed out online once#(I have not finished the sumeru archon quest yet)#it's very breathy but at least the 'shi jie' is pretty clear#the rest not as much bc it kinda blends into the chimey sounds#i'm gonna guess the breathy sounds were not localized due to being a sound effect and not actual character voice lines#vs the glitchy sounds near the unactivated statues that don't seem to say anything in particular#playing the game without music is. definitely. just a bit creepier. but it may also be bc it's past midnight#genshin talk

#genshin impact#so I’m back and I finished Sumeru#I hated it mostly#there’s a few characters I kind of liked#but I was mostly annoyed with it#the series of micro aggressions in the beginning made me resent the region and things only got worse as we moved forward#anyway I hate Hoyo and they’re racist AF#this also means I hate Nahida#she’s just a perfect symbol for everything I hate about Sumeru#which really fucked up plan to collect the archons cause I absolutely do not want to deal with her#anyway there won’t be a lot of Sumeru stuff on here#basically Cyno Dehya Candace Scara#I can only stand Al Haitham when Kevah is insulting him#the rest I’m supremely uninterested in#mostly I’m just going to pretend most of the region and it’s quest didn’t exist#I was ready to move on from almost the moment I stepped foot in Sumeru

I just finished the sumeru archon quest. I honestly enjoyed that way more than the inazuma archon quest
#⇢₊˚⊹ 🩷∥ruby∥yo，ide yo !!#idk something about inazuma in general just doesn't hit the right notes for me tbh#the environment there is pretty. but I don't really like it. I can't for the life of me understand why#and I guess the oppressive atmosphere pre-archon quest completion was a little too heavy-handed#so much so that I never truly felt that it went away even after sakoku decree got lifted#is that Problematic™ for me to say?#eh who fucking knows#i sure as hell don't#but anyway#because of my impression of the inazuma archon quest#I held off on sumeru's for a while because I was afraid it was going to be similar#while I am annoyed at scaramouche reappearing (genuinely nothing could ever convince me to like him at this point)#it was overall very exciting. I literally played for two hours straight just to finish the entire last chapter in one sitting#I just couldn't put it down#not to be a negative nancy or anything#but now that I got to meet alhaitham#I don't really like him all that much#I've met guys like him irl. and had sucky experiences with them every single time#I also don't exactly like his voice either#it's nothing personal really — I love nilou but her jp voice kinda grinds my gears ngl#I have really weird hang-ups about people's voices#wonder if that counts as misophonia. idk. my research comes up inconclusive. or maybe I just suck at looking this up. anyway
