The main problem with Ruby gillman movie is that it sends a message that "bigotry is actually justified and your racist grandparents are right". The second, closely related problem is it's villain.
Firstly, if we look at the film without the spoiler-y marketing, Chelsea/Neressa is written as a twist villain. Like Hans Frozen type twist villain, with little foreshadowing and those "sympathetic" scenes that actually don't amount to anything and might just as well be a lie. Even with the marketing, i think the movie still tricked people into thinking that Chelsea might be a misunderstood villain or have a redemption arc or what not. And twist villains could work well, usually if their turn to villainy makes sense with their preestablished goals and personality (eg. Disney's Atlantis). Or a liar villain could work well if the audience knows of their malicious plans, but the heroes stay in the dark (eg. Scar from Lion King). In general, if the twist or reveal makes the story/conflict less interesting and/or didn't have proper foreshadowing, viewers are bound to dislike it.
Secondly, Chelsea is our only mermaid. And she is, well, evil. It would have been better if we had other good mermaid characters, but she is the only one, which, coupled with Gramamah's generous description of mermaids, makes it seem like all mermaids are as evil as she is.
Thirdly, yes, stories for young children about pure good fighting pure evil are generally fine, it teaches them right and wrong, so they can later consume media with more complex lessons. But in those stories the good guys are usually the underdogs fighting an oppressive evil. In mermaid vs kraken conflict, it's actually mermaids who are at a disadvantage. Krakens are big rulers ("protectors") of the ocean with superpowers. The characters themselves admit that Granmamah is a warlord. Mermaids are small, weak and need a magic trident to even match the power of krakens. Their only "advantage" is being popular with humans, while krakens are feared and hated, but humans have no effect on the story or the conflict. If the story was that mermaids are actually more powerful rulers of the ocean, or the kraken family were the just rules but got conquered/overthrown by evil mermaids, or if both species were of equal power ruling their own parts of the ocean and mermaids decided to go and conquer the peaceful kraken kingdom. Then the good vs evil conflict would have looked less like "how dare these evil inferior minorities challenge the rule of our superior race".
Speaking of which. Ruby's first instinct, even after finding out that "mermaids are actually evil" from her granma, is to judge Chelsea as her own person and assume that mermaids can't be actually evil. Which is, you know, a pretty fair and mature response. When she hears that mermaids suffer from terrible conditions, she actively tries to fight what she sees as injustice. But what lesson does she learn? That she should never question her elders, since they do know better. The story is fighting for the status quo to stay the same, while Ruby is punished to trying to change and improve it.
That's all i can say for now. Other complaints i have are:
humans are virtually useless to the story (including the love interest, tho he had some cute moments), they are just damsels-in-distress and trophies for Ruby to save and get approval from. This movie just as well could happen all under the sea with some minor tweaks.
The human designs are weird and uncanny. Otherwise the visuals are fine.
Ruby's arc is kind of all over the place with her main arc being the classic "believe in yourself", which she mainly gains through hanging out with Chelsea. But isn't Chelsea supposed to be the villain who "leads Ruby astray" from being a good citizen who is not skipping school, lying to her mom or ignoring her friends and crush? Make it make sense, movie.

Note
you talk about clear sky likes he’s this huge tyrant or something. now i haven’t read dawn of the clans in a long time but was he really that bad? i don’t remember a lot of things that happen in that arc btw. or did you make him even worse with the bonefall rewrite??
i should reread dawn of the clans
Things Canon Clear Sky does;
Throw his disabled brother into the wilderness to die
Reject his only surviving son because its mother died in a building collapse after leaving in protest of all his violence
Come back only once that son is grown and useful
Refuse to care for a clanmate with an infected wound, kicking him out
Tells his son to lick the pus off his friend's wound if he cares about him so much, publicly
A lot of public humiliation in general
Is 1 of 2 suspects in the mauling of a battered housewife who dies of her injuries
General warmongering
Responds to the idea of peace talks by taking a prisoner of war
Starves that prisoner of war to the point of emaciation after promising to care for him while he's detained
Starts the bloody First Battle when the starving prisoner of war catches a bat because he hasn't eaten in days
Dozens of people die in this completely pointless and avoidable fight. They cannot dig the mass grave in one day.
Murders Rainswept Flower during this, saying he "got so mad he didn't know what he was doing". This is accepted as a reasonable excuse lmao something is deeply wrong with these writers.
And that's all BEFORE the "Redemption Arc." He continues to act like this but now the narrative decides he's good now and everyone's mean to him for holding him accountable for his actions, he's so sorry guys :(((
After his redemption arc;
Loudly whines and complains that StarClan is forcing him to take an outsider, Micah, as a doctor
Treats him poorly while he's in SkyClan, shown to be verbally abusive every time it comes up (Micah insists he's not so bad if you give it back to him, though this is shown to not be true)
Foists a Clanborn apprentice onto him immediately, Acorn Fur, with the implication that she will replace him as soon as possible.
Refuses to allow Moth Flight and Micah to gather sap for another Clan, knowing denying medicine will kill someone
Orders Red Claw to fight Micah, getting Micah killed
Refuses to allow Moth Flight to finish Acorn Fur's training
When his baby son gets mauled by a fox, he refuses to allow Acorn Fur to go get help until infection sets in
He blames Wind Runner for this because she held Moth Flight back for like 5 minutes.
Holds Moth Flight as a prisoner of war when she needs that sap again until Wind Runner apologizes for killing his baby
So in short; he is canonically an awful tyrant and I'm barely making him any worse in my rewrite. I'm just making it so he doesn't have a failed 'redemption arc' because he didn't even actually change in-canon.
I don't care how "scared and sad" he was when he was doing war crimes. His motivations are piss poor excuses for justifications and his botched redemption arc is one of the worst plots the writers ever hatched.

I'm looking forward to y'all's takes later on this ep but I SO LOVED how the show dealt with Pisaeng's bi/gay 'awakening'. And Max! God that sigh and eye roll, I'ma need someone to gif that for me. And then the rooftop confession and how goddamn beautiful it was for Kawi to just stand there and to know what was coming and to be the one to offer reassurance. Magnificent.
I don't know how the show is doing it. What magic they're playing with. But goddamn it's working, isn't i?

This might just be my two special interest bleeding into each other and blending together buuut... There are so many Vandermatthews coded mcr songs
Like, so many its unreal
Especially the first two albums, as far as im aware, the stories are kind of connected and the first album is about two lovers who are also criminals and then one of them dies in a gunfight and the other makes a deal with the devil to kill and bring him 1000 souls of evil men to bring his dead lover back, only realising way too late that the devil tricked him and he is the last evil man and then he kills himself knowing he will never see his lover again.
Thats just, hmmm... I guess its just me being delusional and absolutely insane about these two pieces of media but i can see it

saskia i am on my hands and knees begging for some ysabel info! what’s her backstory? what’s she like during the game? she’s so 🥰💖
Tumblr media
[PERSONALITY]
Ysabel is a noble, Lolth Sworn Drow, living in Menzoberrazan and is a School of Divination Wizard
Shes an chaotic neutral ENTP, Gemini, 125 years old and 1.60m tall
Ysabel is creative and intelligent, mischievous and cunning. Some perceive her as quirky, eccentric - funny, confident with a giant ego, but also power hungry and selfish, sometimes cruel. She has always been full of ideas, always thinking of new and better ways to do things. She’s always been curious, more often than not you find her with her nose stuck in a book. Her childhood bedroom was exploding with books about fungi or tomes like “The past and present: a Scholars Guide to Divination”.
She’s also rather extroverted and a social chameleon, excellent at manipulation and persuasion, something her mother often took advantage of, as she would often use her children like chess pieces in her political affairs.
[BACKSTORY]
The noble house of Do’Rahel is one of the 8 powerful houses in Menzoberranzan
Ysi has two older sisters (Yris, Yvory) and one younger brother (Ysmael, my warlock charlatan & very first D&D oc 😘)
Their mother (Yaelryn Do’Rahel) is a matron mother, a priestess of Lolth and a powerful and influential figure in Menzoberrazan’s affairs
As most intelligent people are prone to, Ysabel was more questioning of things like societal norms or rules and ideas than what was socially acceptable in the Cult of Lolth, something her mother often reminded her of through whipping. But her mother was also more progressive than some would believe - when her daughter showed more interest in the arcane than continuing her training as a cleric she encouraged it. She thought that having one of her daughters in the circle of the Sorcere was something that could be beneficial to her.
After a particularly nasty ambush on Ysabel (your regular weekend in the Underdark really) her mother assigned one of their warriors as her personal guard - a tiefling slave called Lucien (Side note but he’ll be romancing Shadowheart in a future playthrough 🤓)
Lucien was in his early twenties and enslaved for around 5 years at the time, he was passionate and charming, warm and strong. But he was also as cunning as he was kind. Ysabel liked him, and often would spend more time with him than was strictly necessary. He had Ysabel figured out quickly, and noticed that traits in her that might be weaknesses in her mothers eyes, could be his opportunity. That growing close to her could be his ticket to get free.
But things didn't necessarily work out for him at first as he would have thought - both of them fell in love.
He would tell her stories of his previous life, about his ideals and morals, about the world above. How children do not fear for their life where he is from, how parents love their children unconditionally, how he missed feeding the neighbors ducks before he would go to school. Ysi would laugh at him sometimes, call him weak and soft. But sometimes she would indulge in his stories. Catching herself thinking of them in bed before she go meditating. How strange it must be to live so truly carefree.
The influence Lucien had on her was undeniable. Small and meaningless at first maybe but there nonetheless. There were glimpses of true kindness in Ysabel only he got to see. Glimpses of love - real love, not just the craving for flesh or power he was accustomed to from other Drow. He saw that he had shaken her morals and beliefs, slightly perhaps, but shaken. So when she finally wanted to set him free out of her own volition, instead of running when his binding spell was broken he asked for her to come with him.
She helped him to stage his own death and broke his bonds and let him go, but she didn’t go with him. This would be a turning point in her life, something she regretted for the rest of her existence, something she kept thinking about for years on end.
For many years after, she buried herself in her tower. She never dared to think of why she said no, instead she sat in front of her mirror of memories, where she relived the time she had with Lucien. But in doing so, a part of herself, the past party in fact, was lost in it. Her present self was split in half. She was either overly good or overly evil, and she became known for being mad and for research and experiments that were even extreme by Drow standards.
She was in this state for at least 60 years. She had short periods of time where she managed to stabilize herself through experiments, but it never worked for long. Nevertheless, she made a name for herself, she was an extremely powerful wizard, was considered one of the masters of Sorcere and had a place in their council. (Much to their dismay. Assassination attempts from her colleagues were a daily occurrence tbh.)
[GAME TIMELINE]
House Do’Rahel was infiltrated by Absolute cultists, leading to the almost death of her sisters Yris and Yvory, and the losing a handful of their staff members. Ysabel's mother also heard rumors of similar things happening in House Baenre and other houses all over the city. Sensing a bigger plot, instead of sending warbands like her colleagues, she only send Ysabel and a handful of warriors on a scouting mission. She was to gather as much information as possible. If she would see an opportunity beneficial to them - she should take it, and most importantly she was also to kill or capture any heretic or deserter of Lolth.
The trail they followed led them to the outskirts of Baldur’s Gate. She didn’t know it at the time but she was on her way to Moonrise Towers when she was abducted. When she woke up in the Nautiloid, the tadpole didn’t just strip her of her powers, but also stabilized her mind.
Being fully herself again after so long felt like having someone forcefully pushing a heart back into her. At the beginning of her journey she’s manipulative (she does a lot of the “heroic” options not because she thinks it’s the right thing to do, but because she thinks it’s a smarter way to uncover what is going on and/or because working with the Absolute would go against Lolth), she’s also selfish and a bit cruel, but a lot of things she does suddenly don’t feel the same to her anymore, and an top of that the problem with the tadpole - it forces her into introspection.
At some point she realizes that her companions remind her of Lucien, and the time she had with him. Her development throughout the game mainly consists of her realizing that she rather wants love and friendship than pure ruthless power. She develops a consciousness, empathy. Something Lucien already built the groundwork of so many years ago. She realizes she was too much of a coward back then, that she couldn't let go of all that power and desert Lolth even though that's what she really wanted. Surrounded by her new friends, she doesn’t want to make the same mistake again. In her mind, she’ll never be truly good, much less a hero. But she doesn’t want to be what she used to be either. Seeing real friendship, love, experiencing it for herself, she realizes the only times she wasn't hollow was with Lucien - and now, with them.
Her new friends act as mirrors to herself as well. She sees herself in Gale when he gets obsessed over the Crown, she sees herself in Astarion when he’s willing to kill all his former friends for power. And she sees herself in Lae’zel, Wyll & Shadowheart when it comes to the influence a God, Goddess or devil can have on you. They were all on the path she already walked on, and the guilt she is carrying with her over things she can’t change anymore is overwhelming, so she stops them all, helps them see what is truly important.
About the reason she was in Baldur’s Gate in the first place, she isn’t honest with her companions at first, she has obviously her own agenda like everyone else in that camp. She was forced to explain herself by Wyll when she let True Soul Nere kill the Gnomes. Having a tadpole in her head made everything more personal of course, she starts going against the Absolute not in the name of Lolth or for her mother but for herself and her own beliefs in Act 2.
After the game, her mind is still hers. Going through so much change and admitting her biggest fears repaired herself, like a curse she casted and then lifted on herself. Also, she and Astarion guide the Vampire spawn in the Underdark for a while, and she also researches for ways to make Astarion walk in the sun again (and I like to headcanon that she succeeds :3)
If you want to take a peak, here is Ysabels pinterest 🥺, and since i mentioned Lucien, here is his'.

People need to practice minding their own damn business
Don't come into people's inboxes giving unsolicited advice or criticizing their personal stuff. Don't reblog somebody's posts saying how much you hate it and their opinions.
Don't like somebody's characterisation, AUs or the kind of art they post? It might even annoy you?
Okay, cool. Go make your own post. Block them. Be a little hater about it to your friends. It's good for your soul!
But don't be goddamn rude to people. Don't make it their problem.
"I don't like what this artist likes mah mah mah"
Here's a wild idea;
Artists...don't need to cater to you. You are not entitles to their work. Nobody on the internet should coddle you and post only stuff you like.
Shocker, I know.
#thylacines can talk#Yes this is about PK#When you like an antagonist people expect you to be a negative nancy 24/7 and put a disclaimer everytime you make something with them about#how much they suck as a person#Guess what! Having to shittalk your fave all the time to not risk being 'that kind of fan'...isnt fun. It's miserable even!#Anmoying as fuck too! Yes I know he did this unforgivable thing. I'm not an idiot. That's why I like PK. Fucker's got nuance#Is he a bad person? Absolutely. Will I talk about him being a bad person and the horrible things he did? Also yes. When I want to. It's#very fun to explore that part of the story and how it influenced their victims. Will I give you a fucking essay on why he's a bad person#everytime I want to post something funny or lighthearted about him? No. Piss off.#I cannot only focus on angst and heart-wrenching part of the story. I also like to make stuff of the lighthearted parts of my AUs.#And I don't feel like writing down an entire disclaimer and breakdown of how PK's and WL's redemption arcs went to justify it#Having to constantly put disclaimers to justify you liking a morally grey and bad characters is EXHAUSTING. Only being able to talk about#this character with someone when it proteins to how awful they are is EXHAUSTING.#YES they're bad people. But going into peoples dms or inbox or tags and talking to them about how ugly and bad and evil their fave is#exhausting to deal with and NOT fun. Like I. KNOW. LIKE LET ME LIKE A DEEPLY FLAWED NUANCED FUCKED UP CHARACTER IN PEACE WITHOUT HAVING TO#ALWAYS PUT A DISCLAIMER OUT THERE ABOUT HOW AWFUL THEY ARE. GOOD GOD.#It's especially annoying because I like characterisation of PK that is very morally grey. To me purely evil and not compassionate PK is#fun...in a short run. I much prefer a man whos riddled with guilt over what he did even if he believed it to be necessary evil and who dies#Because of his regret. I love the idea of a father who sacrificed his own children so that no parent had to lose their own. And the tragedy#of him deeply loving PV and still doing what he did. A good person who was faced with an impossible choice and committed unspeakable#cruelty for what he believed to be the greater good. A man who doesnt believe he's deserving of redemption not forgiveness and who doomed#himself. I like a nuanced morally grey PK with LAYERS. Treating him as a purely evil uncaring person who never loved his children sucks ALL#the fun out of him for me. And don't get me wrong I LOVE villains who are evil for evil's sake. I LOVE old school Disney villains who are#scumbags just because they can be and have a little bit a swag to it. But PK just. Isn't that kind of villain to me.#I don't even like calling him a villain. An antagonist? Maybe. A morally grey character that kicked off the entire story with his one act#of unspeakable cruelty? Yup. But I don't see him as the villain of HK.#Wow that was a long rant#Well I got that out of my system at least#I love the Pale King and I could talk for HOURS about why I love him as a character and about his actions. It's just tiring when I have to#do it to justify myself and my lighthearted content of him.

Hello there!! I hope this ask isn't too invasive, but let me girst say that I am a MASSIVE fan of your Transformers writings. Every once in awhile I go back to binge them and I'm always excited when I get updates from your AO3! I just finished reading 'Poets and Veils' for like the tenth time and I wanted to ask if you're still wanting to write a part 2 to it. But I remember you saying somewhere that TFP Megastar is a bit sore for you atm so I don't want to cross any boundaries!! Thank you all the same for reading. 😊
Omg this isn't invasive at all, thank you so much ! I am so happy you like my writing, that means a lot to me. Poets and Veils was one that was so close to my heart, one of my favorite ones. I do one day plan to write a part two!
I do have some feelings about TFP Megastar adjfal;fja BUUT as always, I love tfp megastar, it was the first TF ship i shipped and I actually did write a TFP megastar fic recently if you're interested! I'm always gonna love and write for them!
You certainly aren't crossing boundaries. i am always going to be down for talking about megastar, thank you so much!
Summary:
“Get up, you weak fool.” Starscream sneered, lowering his internal blaster.
“You aren’t going to…”
“We have a movement to run, or rather reform. You and I both know, we work better together.”
-
When the Predacons unleash their wrath upon Starscream, he is saved by the person he least expected, Megatron. Ready to exterminate him, Starscream realizes there is a change within his master (if he can even call him that) and realizes that perhaps their bickering is in the past. Now it is time to work for what they fought for.
#idk where to tag this#but i mean yeah i do tend to have some issues with the portrayals i guess??#i love m*gastar#but it's not lost on me how like...tfp m*gastar is always like the worst portrayed i guess???#i know each to their own but i wish that not all of the content regarding it was so violent and abusive#that sounds funny - like an oxymore#*oxymoron#but i just find that with tfp m*gastar it's like the fans tend to amp up the abuse#and that is what the majority of tfp m*gastar shipping content is#and i just don't really like it#idk if i've mentioned this here but im really picky about m*gastar and for me i really can only ship them and approach them as a form of#redemption and healing#like they have to be post war they have to be going thru healing and changing and they have to put aside the violence because#both are victims of abuse and i want them to heal with each other#no shame to the way others ship tfp m*gastar but that's just not how i like it#on the other hand#i've been at HUGE ODDS with TFP st*rscream#how can i say this??#a group of his fans a while ago really made me dislike the character because i associated them with him#basically some not so much shit went down#but someone i used to like and trust#and associate with the character#kinda made me feel bad and shitty#and their whole group in turn kinda made me feel that way#so i associated tfp st*rscream with them#and i really REALLY REALLY hated the character#i even felt teh same with like predastar#a ship i had loved#i associated it with that group of people and i accidentally hated it#i hated tfp st*rscream

for the prompt 'nive, but with canon!nine; villain nine, absolute tirefire and not a happy one.' also accidentally combined it with 'hand in unlovable hand,' Whoops
three sentences, he said. it'll be quick, he said
[cws: blood, angst, character death, suicide, Bad Vibes. when i say it's not a happy one i mean it; tread lightly.]
-------
"Nobody's coming," hisses Nine through his teeth. There's blood running down his face, and even the strobing emergency lights can't hide the mad light in his eyes. "You know that, right?"
There's a knife in Five's shoulder. Nine hadn't cared that it glowed red when he picked it up, hadn't cared that it clamped his grip down around it, hadn't cared when the spent guns floating around him had dropped all at once. It was sharp and Five was there and that was enough, apparently. Now it's in his shoulder and his skin won't change, and fuck he'd never known something could hurt this much.
"Nobody's--" Nine grits his teeth and slams him against the wall again. He's bigger and stronger and he's got him pinned; Five can taste copper down his lips from the headbutt that had taken him off balance. "--fucking coming because they don't care. They came for me and they know better now, right?" He leans on the knife. The strangled noise Five keeps down must show on his face instead, because Nine laughs, breath hot and damp with blood. "Right."
"I know," says Five, voice tight. His words bubble through his lips. "Wasn't planning on it."
(He never has.)
Nine coughs in his face; Five tastes more copper and it's not his own this time. The guy doesn't have long, he realizes in a moment of clarity. Something internal, and the others aren't going to heal it. They're not coming.
It's for the best.
"The ship's," he swallows to clear his mouth, "the ship's going down. You know that?"
"Yeah."
"And you're not gonna try to stop it, are you," he says. "Not if I'm here."
He doesn't answer, and Five doesn't need him to. If the Anubis follows course and rams into the mountain the war's half won already. He's pretty sure there's only one thing Nine gives a shit about now, and who knows what he'll do with his last moments if he can't have it.
Alright, he thinks. "Alright."
Nine's dark eyes are darting around his face, like he's trying to memorize something. The splatter, he realizes. The constellation of his own lifeblood across Five's skin.
He's surprised that whatever he feels at that isn't disgust. Or at least, disgust doesn't describe it. Something hot and thick and dark; something bottomless and yawning, boiling where it's not cold; something weirdly warm where it's neither of those things, weirdly calm.
He doesn't know if it has a name. He won't have the time to find out.
Nine's grip is starting to weaken. Not enough to shove him off, though, not with the Dreynen knife connecting his hand to Five's shoulder. Five's not sure he would try it anyway, at this point. The thought is oddly peaceful.
"I guess," he says, spits to one side and Nine doesn't stop him, "if I'm going down, at least it's you who's going down with me."
Nine's laughter is a seesawing, ragged gasp. He sounds tired, now. "If I had to pick an asshole--"
He breaks off into another bout of coughing. Five waits for him to finish before replying. "Well. You picked."
The sound of the wind shrieking past the hull is changing, and Five knows what that means. They both do. When Nine finally meets his gaze his face is ashen, and his jaw is tight, but there's relief there clear as day.
"So did I," murmurs Five, and doesn't close his eyes.

Honestly "I could give you the world but you'd poison the seas" is Frosscore enough that it could apply to most people who have ever cared about him. But also, it should clearly be about Lis. Combine that with Aloy's "Elisabet is the only reason you even have a planet to return to" for greater impact. Boom
#not to be obsessed with not only my own playlists but also my own writing but. man. poetic cinema#starting to think that the reason fross is always self-sabotaging is because he's already convinced that everything will inevitably go wron#and instead of waiting for it to catch him off guard he just. poisons it a little himself first.#and maybe then it won't hurt as much when shit does hit the fan!#(< look at this dumbass (me) having the exact same realization about my characters five separate times bc my memory sucks 😔)#but just look at his history. every time he tried to do something the right way in earnest it got fucked up for reasons out of his control#so. i could see it. why put in the effort to do things the right way if he's gonna get disappointed in the end?#it's almost like the hurdles that he himself creates are a test. and smth can only be worth pursuing if it can endure those hurdles first#it makes sense why his redemption arc starts once he's stuck on earth and he's like.#''ok now nemesis is gonna kill me for sure. there is nothing i can do to make this situation any worse. guess i'll wash the dishes fml''#lol#but i also think about pre-apocalypse fross practically begging tilda to let him have something that's uniquely his. even if it sucks#(putting a pin on fross's anxieties about being cloned and his disdain towards aloy and beta in that regard)#because he feels like he's always been pulled by external forces and he doesn't know how to break free. doesn't think he even WANTS to#because it's all he's ever known. and stepping outside of his comfort zone is scary :')#but of course he doesn't have the emotional awareness to even be aware of any of that lmao. pity#oc: fross#oc tag#ramble#anyways. sorry i put the meat of this post in the tags. i didn't expect to write this much lol

"You've left nothing but corpses in your wake, corpses that now serve as silent companions. But you hear them, don't you? Stubborn beasts that bite at your heels with sharpened fangs; starving ghosts that feast on the carnage you've caused; twisted creatures, not even shadows of their former selves. They're grateful though, as grateful as the hunter who follows the crimson trail that the wounded deer left behind, like an unmarked river on a map. Always on the hunt, never resting. Always on edge, always painfully aware of the snarling and gnashing of teeth behind you. You used to be such a good girl, so good at turning the other cheek - at what point did that change? What was it that pushed you over? Why can't you go back? We’re all running from something, Varker, but for how much longer can you keep this up? Until the footprints you've tried so hard to ignore eventually diverge from your own, or until you can no longer fight to keep your eyes open and the wolves finally catch up to you? Someone needs to feed them, dear, so it might as well be you this time."
