It’s early when Luke poofs into Julie’s room. He can hear her voice in his head saying “boundries!” clear as day, but he can’t help but want to be near. Last night they thought they would crossover, or jolted out of existence, but instead they’d remained. They’d hugged Julie and it was amazing. But he had had the chance to hold her face in his hands, thumbs caressing her cheeks, and the memory of her soft skin beneath his fingers, of her own hands gently holding his face, ran on repeat all night after she went inside to bed.

The sun was just barely beginning to light the room. He could hear Julie’s soft breathing as he took a few steps around the side of the bed. She was still asleep, laying on her stomach with one arm tucked close and the other resting above her head on the pillow. Her face was obscured by wild curls going every which way and Luke’s hands are itching to move them. To brush them away from her forehead and tuck them behind her ear. To gently sweep his fingers along her jaw as he brings his hand back.

He freezes, suddenly worried that the night before was a fluke and he will phase through her like before. So it’s with a mix of trepidation and anticipation that he reaches out, hand slightly shaking, to act out his thoughts and desires from moments before. Better to figure this out now when he doesn’t have to see the disappointment on Julie’s face.

It takes a second to register the soft feeling of her hair against his finger tips, but once it does, he has zero hesitation to continue the move and brush it away from her face. She looks beautiful and he can’t resist the urge to press a soft kiss against her forehead. As he leans back, her brown eyes are watching him. Again, he remembers he should have waited to come in here and he pulls his hands back from her. But the hand she’d had tucked near her chin catches his before it gets too far and he can see her brain starting to shed the layers of sleep as she wakes up. A small crease appears in her brow.

“Is everything okay?” Her fingers squeeze his lightly but the pressure builds the faster she wakes up. Crap. He didn’t mean to worry her.

“Yeah. I was looking for the kitchen,” he smiles down at her, squeezing her hand back. “Took a detour.”

She relaxes back into the bed with his words and readjusts her grip on him, now tugging at his arm to bring him closer. “If you stay with me, I’ll help you find it after my alarm goes off.”

Unable to resist her, he lays down on the bed. Their hands still hold the other between them. “Of course, Julie. I’ll stay as long as you like.”

Oh yeah, so turns out I DIDNT flunk my 2 classes my last semester I took (spring 2023). I got a C and a D. Which normally a D wouldn't be passing, but bc it's not a prerequisite for anything, my advisor is making an exception for it. WHICH MEANS I only have 8 classes left to take before I graduate. Since my life insurance money will cover all my living expenses for A While, I'm not gonna look for another job and instead will just focus on studying and finishing my degree. 1 class in the summer, 3 classes in fall, and 4 classes in spring. Assuming I don't crash and burn again (which I'm going to do everything in my power to prevent), I should be able to graduate college by spring 2025.

10 years after I first started college. I should've graduated in 2019. But better late than never. So long as I do finish, it will be okay.

#speculation nation #i fully thought i failed my classes that last semester. i crashed and burned bc of a variety of reasons #and i ended up on academic probation. so i ASSUMED i failed.#but apparently not!!! yay!!!#i gotta make sure i do as good as possible in my remaining classes to make sure my GPA isnt ass by the end #it's at 2.95 right now. so long as im above a 3 it wont be too bad for job prospects.#not as good as a 3.5 but i dont care about being in a swanky tech job anyways #so long as it's something Functional. something that will let me live comfortably. thats what matters.#this life insurance payout really is life changing huh. i hate that things happened like this #but im so grateful he had this in place. this will be indispensable for letting me finally finish. Finally.

final fantasy verses

verses that i think Junpei would work well in--i would add 4, 8, and 13, but these I feel were the most popular. i will definitely add the others in the future. :)

Timeline for Final Fantasy VII -- tagged as [ verse;; baby mercenary time ]

-> a very simple timeline: Junpei is a brand new mercenary in Kalm. He is just a baby, learning new stuff, and always keeping an eye out for Avalanche. He wants to make a difference, but doesn't know how to yet. -> his father was an ex-solider but got injured in the line of battle and tries to help junpei but his injury leaves him unable to help his son. his mom works part time jobs for the mayor to make sure they have money even though they are living in their current home for free.

Timeline for Final Fantasy X -- tagged as [ verse;; youth league solider]

-> in this timeline, Junpei would be a member of the Youth League, knowing that Sin needs to go down and would do anything to help out the summoners. -> his mother died a couple years prior to yuna's pilgrimage to Sin and his father becomes an alcoholic. Junpei still keeps an eye on his father, but the burden is showing proof on his face. Junpei is on the front lines during Operation Mi'ihen, but is able to escape with Lucil and her people. -> he gets a nasty scar on his right arm, rendering him unable to fight and questioning what he wants to do with his life knowing that he might not be able to fight and protect.

Timeline for Final Fantasy XII -- tagged as [ verse;; desperate bounty hunter ]

-> this timeline is a bit sadder than the others: junpei is living on his own, parents both dead, and has to take up a sword in order to survive. -> he takes on bounties, trying to find THE ONE that will bring him out of homelessness and into a stable apartment somewhere in rabanstre. -> his living condition got worse when Ashe announced her 'death'.

Timeline for Final Fantasy XV -- tagged as [ verse;; ]

-> TBF.

#im almost done with quite a few. thats fhe annoying thing ... i always wanna start smthn new lol #im almost done reading: ice and fire; the way i used to be (not a fan but my sis loves it. so I wanna finish it) and #wait. thats it. everything else im like half way or less through.......#oh wait theres “got parts”.. but idk if i wanna finish that one. idk how i felt abt that book despite osdd #i started hunger games but might drop it. only read it bc my rm was briefly super into it hehe #then started on MANY psychology books. the body keeps the score (so hard to read) and emotional incest syndrome (that book hurts)#started on the haunted self... and a pdf about mycology...#anddddd somatoform dissociation by Nijenhuis #and so many more pdfs where i got like >40 pages in and dropped it #>_< my self discipline and ability to finish something is shite as one can see lol #my aunt offered me books and i couldn't resist. i took some home #maybe i should start bringing books at work and readin them during lunch hehe um #i feel like once i get into that zone its easy to read but the hard part is tapping into that zone rip #that being said i wanna make it my goal to finish ice and fire by dworkin. a gritty book... but her writing style is absolutely beautiful..#and finish the way i used to be. its taken me .... an ungodly amount of time to be almost done w that one #edit a few hrs later: finished “the way i used to be” yay. FINALLY.#it made me cry :( even if its a clunkily written YA book.. edy is such a good portrayal of self destruction + hypersexuality bc trauma...#idk a better way to word it but even if the book had its flaws... the ending just rlly hits ;-;

Thank you all for being a great part of my 2023! ^_^ I got into DnDads around October of 2022, but I didn’t really get into the fandom itself until mid-2023, after publishing the first bit of Silver Linings in April. It’s been really important me to this year. Thanks for your readership and support on my fic(s), as well as just being cool people :) Hoping 2024 will be even better!
