this is literally all i've been thinking abt like fr
Tumblr media
below the cut r my written notes bc they probably aren't legible but basically. davey spiderman. kath is veeeery harry osborn-coded. jack is cool friend/hot guy mary jane. antics will ensue. and then we have race crutchie and spot ofc:
davey: IS THERE ANYTHING BETTER THAN DAVEY "MOUTH' JACOBS SPIDER MAN. literally there isnt...
he fits the spiderman a little closer to miles than peter in terms of like.... the difference in tragedy in his life and especially how miles handles tragedy compared to peter. and also davey has a better support system of ppl who know off the bat. i think sarah would be cool as the "guy in the chair" role that's so funny to me... their comms banter>
jack: FEMME FATALE DAMSEL IN DISTRESS MJ JACK KELLY. IS such a look.
I'm mean and would give him a symbiote arc tho.
for now he's Spectacular!MJ in terms of vibes...
she's very smooth when she and peter meet and i think jack could embody the "future star of the stage" kind of persona but as an artist not an actor. as for why i'd give him a symbiote moment... mostly bc i don't think it fits davey very well as in idt his anger can be taken advantage of like jack's can and jack's desperation can. jack is not immune to manipulation like davey is LMAO... jack's desperation to protect ppl when he personally is in a bind isss... it is strong.
kath: KATH IS QUITE LITERALLY HARRY OSBORN. LIKE. BFFR. Thinking maybe spidey saves her and it's a scene and pulitzer gets protective in a fucked up way and like. Has her under lock and key afterward.
better yet if davey saves her almost accidentally/preemptively bc that's his best friend katherine but she didn't need saving, and since she was saved, (and pulitzer is a dick,) would totally not let her out of his sight/his company's sight as much as possible.
and tbh i'd probably keep the norman osborn alignment and make pulitzer a scientist while kath goes against this by being a journalist/someone who excels at humanities.
racer: RACE IS BLACK CAT IN MY HEART. could be Jack though.
bc jack is soooo... like he would. but race and stealing things and being snarky and feeling entitled to it is so true...adding some mobster flair to a homme fatale.. yea. ESPECIALLY because-
spot: SPOT IS VERY INSOMNIAC WRAITH. LIKE- VERY.
wraith is a character who is originally a cop.../at least one of the wraiths is initially a cop that works w spiderman and then becomes an occasionally murderous vigilante/punisher-esque character. which is rather extremely spot conlon. also it'd give race and spot rly good banter
now maybe my fav of them all- crutchie: Crutchie as a 20yr old pre-med researcher -> Dr. connors/the lizard moment. Also mentor Crutchie>>
i also think the injection thing would be more of an accident than a like...solution. like i think he's got his prosthetic and he's chill w it and is researching lizard limb regeneration for a final project and there's a the flash-in-the-chem-lab accident. but mainly crutchie being like 19. knew davey & jack & kath while he was in high school with them. very initial eddie brock is spectacular spider-man basically lets be honestt
anyway yeah this has been driving me. up a wall

Okay so firstly here we goo,
💛💜🌙🔐🍓🍒🍇🍋🍐🖇☂️🧚‍♀️🪐⭐🪻☘.
Now, I'm in love with this whole scenario 😍. And the way you put it is so cutee.
Also, I was thinking about green when sending in the ask and then you wrote green. Are we soulmates or what?!!🤣
Anyways, you must know you bring me lotsss of comfort 🥰
Omg really?! Thank you!💜 (Also, finding soulmates through tumblr blogs seems very on brand for this fandom, I love it!)
Anyway, damn, you gave me a couple deep thinkers on that list lol! I'm going to put the asks under the cut just to keep this post from scrolling too long, but here we go!
💛 what is your favorite feature on yourself? - maybe my eyes?
💜 describe yourself in five words or less! -Sarcastic, Spooky, Daydreamer, Sister,
🌙 your zodiac (Sun, Moon, Rising) - Scorpio sun, Pieces moon, Cancer rising
🔐 something no one would guess about you - Apparently that I'm physically strong? Idk, people seemed surprised that I can lift like 50+lbs bags and stuff.
🍓 favorite food - Potatoes, in any form.
🍒 what is your earliest memory - the Minnie Mouse sheets on the bed as I woke up, going through the house to find my mom and sister. I think I was maybe four?
🍇 a word your friends would use to describe you - Gramdad
🍋 favorite genre to read / watch / write - Romance or mystery, especially with supernatural/paranormal elements.
🍐 if you could make one character real, who would it be - Maybe The Doctor from Doctor Who? Idk if I could pick one from my own works.
🖇️ what are your favorite asks to answer - I really like the ones when people are excited about their idea or my work or just excited in general. Don't hide your enthusiasm, it's wonderful!
☂️ your favorite fanfic from another writer - Ooh, there's so many good ones, but I'd have to say Act On It by @joonie-beanie . Yoongi, Vampires, Café Aus, so many of my favorite things.
🧚‍♀️ favorite characters of all time - Cas from Supernatural, Marcus, Aunt Sarah and Emily from Discovery of Witches, Darcy from Heartstopper, Jane Eyre, Elizabeth Bennett, (Imma stop there or this could go on a while)
🪐 favorite shows / series of all time - So weird(it's an old Disney series from the late 90s/early 00s), Hotel Del Luna, It's okay to not be okay, Our beloved summer,(I wanna say Supernatural, but I also don't wanna say Supernatural bc ugh)
⭐️ what is one of your biggest accomplishments? Why is it so important to you? - Honestly? Letting myself write. I spent so long thinking that I would never be good enough, so why even bother? But once I finally embraced that it didn't have to be perfect, it just had to be mine, it's made me soo happy.
🪻what is the toughest thing you had to go through, but can say you’ve successfully overcome? - idk if I have an answer for this one yet, I'm still working on it tbh
🍀 what is your comfort show/series and why is it your comfort show? How has it helped you? - This anime called Princess Jellyfish. The main character reminds me of myself a lot, and although it's super silly, it kinda encourages you to embrace your 'weirdness' and see the unique beauty in yourself and others.
If you wanna ask any more, feel free too!

Terror of the Zygons
The first appearance of one of my favorite aliens in all of Who! It was a really fun one too, though I do wish they'd played more into the whole "you can never be sure if you're speaking to a Zygon or not" stuff
I loved the inclusion of Nessie, though I was hoping it was going to be more involved in the plot than it turned out to be. If/when we ever get a Bigfoot episode I'm sure they'll remedy it by making it the focus
Sarah Jane was an absolute delight, as always. I especially loved the scene where she sticks her tongue out at the Zygon but overall she was everything I'd want from a companion in this serial. Harry is also finally leaving, which I was a little sadder than I thought I'd be tbh. His near brush with death did a good job at raising the stakes enough for me to care that he chose to leave (also adds even more fuel to the "Chibnall has no new ideas" fire)
I was even sadder to realize this was the Brigadier's last episode for nearly 8 years, and even those future appearances are one-offs. He was such a core element to the show, adding excellent humor as well as a sense of disbelief that I feel like the show needs sometimes. He kinda reminds me of Jackie Tyler in a way, someone to tell the Doctor that what they're talking about is nonsense to remind the viewer that yes, this is all nonsense
The actual plot of the story was fairly good. Not my favorite serial by far, more important for its role in the show's history rather than its own merits, but I enjoyed it well enough!

I kinda wish they would make Sophie less wide eyed and innocent. I know book purist will claim she can’t bc she doesn’t want a bastard but I think if the men can rake around with apparently half the woman in London without producing a bastard or an std then so can sophie!! If she is still a virgin hopefully they will atleast give her a personality.
there’s nothing wrong with being a virgin but let’s be real- Bridgerton and many HR have the heroine as virgins not just for historical accuracy but to constantly bring up their pureness as a way of distinguishing them from the previous woman the hero has been with. as in clearly she is better bc she has never been with someone else especially someone she didn’t love. the amount of stans on Twitter who call the girl benedict was making out with a hoe & exclaim how excited they were to see benedict teach innocent Sophie everything was too much!! it would be far more progressive to show benedict actually learning to respect a woman that he and society has been taught not to treat with dignity.
Since we won’t get Frans season, it is messed up that the only woman who get to have an HEA are woman who remain virgins & are pure in the eyes of society. While the woman, these heroes slept with the season before are literally tossed aside to make way for the pure innocent woman!! No historical accuracy argument can change the fact that it is incredibly regressive
The historical accuracy argument is also bullshit, tbh. Modern HRs owe a lot more to Georgette Heyer than Jane Austen—who didn’t write about the SEVERELY upper classes the way most HR writers do today (no dukes for Lizzie!). Heyer was a twentieth century writer, and like…. The incredible racism and particularly egregious antisemitism of her books aside, she didn’t know anything about what it was like to live back then on a personal level.
We do know that many, many women had sex before marriage. Some of them were upper class. Some we know about, many we don’t—we weren’t there and we can’t ask them. We know that birth control existed. We know that women were interested in sex before and after marriage—sometimes with their husbands, sometimes not. We know that children were born out of wedlock, and not just to the poor. We know that society had “solutions” for these issues, some of which were good and some of which were bad. The idea that an HR heroine must be a virgin isn’t about accuracy but about an author’s preference for her story. If these books were about accuracy, we’d have a lot fewer dukes.
It’s also like… idk man. I think there is a level of reactionary conservatism (which the world is experiencing a wave of on a large scale, but I’m thinking of English speaking authors and readers in the UK and America, where I know that wave is happening personally) to the insistence of the Regency virgin. When you read many 80s HRs, heroines often have sex with the hero before marriage. A Kingdom of Dreams, The Fires of Winter…. This isn’t universal but it is common. And I think many authors today write virgins not because they want to but because they fear the backlash from readers who insist!!!! It’s historically inaccurate!!!
On a historical level, you can make an argument for so much, depending on your preference. I personally feel like authors like Sarah MacLean, Beverly Jenkins, etc… read a lot more about history than the AVERAGE HR reader. And I don’t expect them to, tbh? I don’t read HR for history, I read it for romance.
There is something incredibly harmful about the way virginity is upheld in these books…. There’s nothing wrong with a virgin, but the shunning of the experienced woman is awful. I’d love to see a Bridgerton heroine who isn’t a virgin, besides Francesca who will likely be confined to the books (and she was a virgin when she married her husband, to be fair). I have no love for Siena lol, but damn. Just tossing every ~mistress aside in favor of a virgin isn’t good look.

For the ship asks
what is your absolute favorite ship?
explain why do/don’t ship Carla and Polo?
favorite AU ideas for Nick and Ziggy? And same question with Alice and Cindy
Is a lot, i'm sorry but i'm courius
oof this is a tough one, but I shall do my best!
for question one:
I have a lot of favourite ships. I love pretty much all period drama couples, especially Austen ones, so those are top of the list. But in terms of other media: Stefan and Elena from TVD, Jane and Michael from JTV, Jess and Rory from Gilmore Girls, Peeta and Katniss from THG, and many many more. Jake and Amy from Brooklyn 99, all the ships from ATLA pretty much, The Good Place I just ship everyone. Lol, there's a lot, but the first 5 are like the main ones.
I mean I love talking about/writing for nick & ziggy but I don't ship them in terms of wanting them to be together. Like if the curse wasn't a thing and Nick wasn't an evil douchebag, sure I would like I did before watching 1666 but he's really so awful. I like to pretend he isn't a lot of the time, but yeah. I don't "ship" ship them if that makes sense. I do think they are fascinating though!
for question 2:
Okay, I don't ship Carla and Polo from Elite. Idk I mean they're both gorgeous, but tbh I preferred Carla with Samuel. I don't ship Carla and Polo because to be when we saw their relationship it felt very much like they were together just for convenience/image and not because they genuinely wanted to be together anymore, if that makes sense. Especially after what happens in season 1, any chance they had of getting back together vanished. Like it just got so manipulative and toxic and I didn't feel like they really liked who they were around each other.
now for question 3:
I mean for Nick & Ziggy I've literally written so many AU's for them it's hard to keep count, so I'm going to list potential ideas for them that I might finish/haven't written yet and others that I know other people are interested in writing:
1. I've been working (very very slowly) on a period drama au for nick x ziggy which might quite possibly go nowhere.
2. then there's this other idea based on a prompt from @indistinctmumblings that I'm developing where Nick & Ziggy are young adults instead of teenagers and meet when he's on the force because she keeps getting arrested and they drive around in his cruiser looking for Sarah fier's bones. I'm still debating about whether the curse should be in it or not (Nick's dad is still alive at this point. Nick only briefly saw Ziggy at Nightwing so they didn't get a chance to reconnect)
3. there's a lot of interesting fic ideas people have talked about writing so I'm excited to see if anything turns up with that.
4. finally, I had a really in depth discussion also with @indistinctmumblings about a time-loop AU, where Nick is trapped reliving the same day in 1978 over and over again. Idk if I could or would write that - like I try to bring something new to each Nick & Ziggy fic I write in terms of characterization, plot, how the curse ends and everything, and I feel like I'm approaching the finish line in terms of creating new content? Like I don't want to regurgitate the same thing I've already spammed this tag so much lmao, but we'll see. this fic idea - especially the ending shot - has really stuck with me, but it's a popular idea and not one I came up with on my own, so.
in terms of Cindy and Alice lol, my favourite AU is when they both live and get to live happily ever after! I love that. But I also love the idea of them in some kind of competitive setting (maybe a figure skating/olympics AU where they're both favourites to win and used to be friends omg) or even just the idea of them being roommates in college and then slowly falling in love. I love these two, but it hurts so much to write for them 😢😢
thanks for the ask! 💕

Episode 5: The Mile High Job
WHY IS THIS EPISODE 8
FUCK THE NETWORK I’M VERY TIRED
So we’re starting on a client testimony. Which is sad because I kind of like the context establishing scenes
Sophie being French is hilarious
I’m not saying Hardison shouldn’t be able to take off when he needs to. I am saying that MAYBE THEY SHOULD PLAN HEISTS FOR DAYS WHEN THEY ARE A MEMBER SHORT?
Also, why does Hardison not put his food on a plate before he puts it in the microwave. That spinning plate does not get washed nearly enough for that to be sanitary
OK wait did Hardison just flake out? THEN WHY DID THEY NOT POSTPONE?
THEY SHOULD HAVE PLANNED THIS MUCH BETTER
I love Parker being magic and teleporting
The security guards always seem like idiots and tbh, working where I work with the security guards being who they are, I feel like it’s all bullshit and a disservice to security guards.
I love the Doctor WHo references. TOM AND SARAH JANE BAKER YES MA’AM
But also did no one make a Doctor Who comment? Like really. I know Tom Baker is probably a common name but I really want to know what happens when they get a whovian checking their IDs
THe poor flight attendant. That sucks. Can you imagine getting a COMPLETELY fake call that your cat might be put down? I’m sorry, I can’t. Completely innocent people get screwed by them sometimes and I feel bad
Eliot remembers everyone he’s slept with I love him.
THIS POOR FLIGHT ATTENDANT? WHat happens when she comes back and everyone is side eyeing her and being bitchy?
I hate the trope of girlfriends or love interests being overly sensitive about people remembering tiny details. Especially when they aren’t actually together. Especially when it happened years ago. Especially when they hold it against them for the whole episode.
SOME PEOPLE HAVE TERRIBLE MEMORIES OK
Also, this is Nate. It’s a shock he has any brain cells left with how drunk he is 99% of the time. Get OVER yourself Sophie.
PLACE YOUR MASK OVER YOUR MOUTH AND NOSE ok Leverage predicting the future…
Parker being a terrible flight attendant is hilarious
Did I like her in this episode? I think I liked her in this episode
Eliot suffering through economy I can’t
I feel bad for the woman, but like… stop pushing? I know she’s nervous but the flight attendant is trying to do her job. I mean, it’s Parker, but in any normal situation…
Hardison pulls the same “You’re such a racist” bit every time he gets in a sticky situation, and it always works? Can you imagine if he tried to pull that on an actual racist?
Do planes have bars like that? I’ve been on plenty of planes and i’ve never seen a bar like that
Im never in first class though so whatever
OKAY GUYS THE IN-FLIGHT MOVIE IS ONE OF THE LIBRARIANS MOVIES
Which means noah wyle exists in the leverage universe.
HOW IS THAT GOING TO WORK WITH THE REBOOT THOUGH?
Unless they just… expected no one to notice? To be fair, it’s not like they focused on it
They probably just needed a movie they could use without securing rights first or running into copyright issues
But still… paradoxes
Eliot just going through a bunch of random people's bags…
HE AND PARKER MOVING AROUND EACH OTHER SO COMFORTABLY THOUGH
THIS IS SEASON ONE WHY ARE THEY SO GOOD TOGETHER ALREADY
I LOVE THEM GUYS
Parker. That’s not reassuring Parker. Parker that’s just terrifying. WHY WOULD YOU SAY SOMETHING LIKE THAT PARKER?? pARKER?? i’M CONCERNED PARKER!
I really hate Sophie getting mad at nate for this shit. It’s not funny. It’s not cute. It just makes Sophie seem unreasonable and bitchy
OK BUT Hardison and the woman bonding IMMEDIATELY over nerdy gaming is so great
Also i like that they made the other nerd a woman is great
OK but he is not talking nearly silently enough for the ONLY other person in the room to just stop listening to him?
Could you imagine the person you were talking to randomly stops talking, looks upset, and then sticks his head in the cabinet? And starts muttering to himself?
LIKE EITHER HE CAN’T TELL REALITY FROM FANTASY OR HES A SPY
WHY ARE YOU NOT SUSPICIOUS??
He really does pull this shit off really well.
The amount of men in that conference room is oppressive and very realistic ina very sad way
Parker must be in a thief’s paradise
OKAY I REMEMBER NOW AND I DID LIKE PARKER IN THIS EPISODE
“Nobody tells me anything”
THAT’S SUCH A MOOD
Literally the job I’m working in right now is exactly like that
My job is literally to know things and help people and provide them with the information they need
AND STILL I’M ONE OF THE LAST TO FIND THINGS OUT
IT’S VERY FRUSTRATING OK
WHy can I not remember why they’re going after genegrow? Someone died I think? But i cannot remember
“The guy in 1D wants to kill you. Ginger Ale?”
Why is it that all i can think about right now is harry styles and niall horan
I mean I KNOW why but like… why
I LOVE them but why?
WHAT IS THIS OFFICE WOMAN’S NAME I LOVE HER
How does no one question Hardison showing up out of nowhere though?
Im just saying… supposedly it’s “Dave’s” birthday, and they think they should have already known about it? He just started that job on that day?
Unless he’s pretending to have been there forever but even then…
This makes no sense? I’m so confused?
Eliot beating a guy up in an airport bathroom is fantastic
But also you can’t fit one person in a airport bathroom, let alone two
THe view from the top is much smaller than the shots from the side
Parker: the guy we just took out? Eliot: -_- Parker: The guy Eliot just took out?
Sophie always seems so shocked by the inhumanity of some of these people they interact with. Nate’s like “Yeah, people are awful” and Eliot’s like “I see worse all the time” and Parker’s like “Is this meant to be weird or something?” but Sophie’s like “WHAt? Someone wants people DEAD? And might KILL US IN THE PROCESS?”
Is the art theft world just not so violent?
Even hardison doesn’t seem shocked, just upset and offended. Sophie’s always like OoO though and it gets weird?
Now both Eliot AND Nate are fitting in the bathroom? With an already unconscious guy? I’VE BEEN IN AIRPLANE BATHROOMS. THEY AREN’T BIG ENOUGH FOR THAT.
Unless i’m just fat. Which is an option.
Why do people have random wires in their luggage? Who travels with a giant bundle of wires in their luggage?
Oh look. The red head was right. There is a tailwind
OK But THE OXYGEN MASKS CAME DOWN AND NO ONE IS TRYING TO PUT ONE ON?
I know they’re panicking but still
Nate really does just throw things at hardison and then Hardison goes like WHAT I CAN’T DO THIS and then he does it.
HOW is Hardison THAT talented it’s ridiculous
WE all talk about Eliot being hyper-competent in everything when Hardison is literally right there
Not to say that eliot doesn’t deserve attention because he does and I love him
I LOVE ELIOT OKAY
I’m just saying Hardison deserves more credit
HOW DID THEY NOT HIT ANY CARS WHEN THEY WERE LANDING? THERE ARE CARS RIGHT THERE? ANd then there’s suddenly no cars in font of them when they land ? It’s all deserted?
HARDISON IS SO GOOD THOUGH
How did they set up a party for “Dave” so quickly?
WHY DOES NO ONE LOOK TO SEE WHO DAVE WAS YELLING AT?
Everyone is so done with Hardison and honestly? Fair. He might’ve saved them, but he also screwed them over earlier. It came in handy, but still.
I really could not give less of a shit about the Nate Sophie storyline in this episode. In most of season one really. It’s all shitty and annoying
FINAL THOUGHTS: 8/10. Points off for people not acting like people. Points off for the shitty Sophie/Nate stuff. Extra points for Eliot being Eliot. (There will always be extra points for Eliot being Eliot). Extra points for Hardison’s badassery. Extra points because I liked Parker in this episode. Extra points for nerd girl. You go nerd girl. Points off because I literally remember nothing about this episode except for Hardison being awesome, the office scenes, and the fact that there was a plane crash. Why were they on the plane? No idea. Can’t remember.
Sam count: 3/5
IYS count: 2/5 (Am I remembering this wrong? I felt like there were more? Then again, I’m only 5 episodes in)

are u still doing the ask game? can i ask for 19 or 20?
for you anon, of course! 20 is actually a really lame two-sentence note that isn't worth anyone's time, so I'll do 19!
19 is a really sad story tbh. I've always really liked the character Sedusa and it kills me that the writers never did more with her. I believe they said the reason why was because they couldn't think of many kid-friendly scenarios to put her in, which is fair lmao.
lol one of my notes for this outline is "this is my dark manifesto to [Sedusa] and it comes off like a bad CW remake," which was written way before the CW show announcement. so not to get a big ego about things, but I totally beat them to the punch. This fic is my only rated M fic (though arguably Acting Normal may also change into M just for its dark themes as well).
This story is adequately tilted "Sedusa" and it follows how a plain jane named Sara became one of Townsville's most notorious villains. The plot's below, though content warning, please don’t read if your triggered by abusive relationships, domestic violence, child abuse, sexual assault/harassment, or gore. The outline won't be detailed (and tbh the actual story won't be heavily detailed either) but i believe that everyone still deserves a fair warning :)
The outline doesn't do the plot justice, but it's all I got so hopefully people just Get It.
CHARACTER NOTES:
Canonically, I believe the Sedusa's character was supposed to represent envy and lust. So, one of the main themes I try to stick with when writing her character is the definition of envy, which is a "feeling of discontented or resentful longing aroused by someone else's possessions, qualities, or luck."
PLOT:
Sara is a sweet and mousy little girl, who tries her best to stay invisible. She's rather plain-looking except for her really beautiful long dark hair. Originally, she's not from Townsville, but somewhere in the "country" where a person could be considered a bumpkin. Sara's a smart young girl, but her intelligence is rather unrefined. She spends most of her time obsessing over greek and Egyptian mythology.
She's from a rather big family, but she's the baby. Her father is abusive. Her mother is neglectful and Sara resents her mother for just standing by while abuse is occurring. To cope, Sara dreams of running away and falls deeper into her mythology obsession--specifically Medusa. Sara feels like Medusa would understand her.
At 16, she runs away to Townsville where she tries to be a hairdresser. With no money, she ends up in a really seedy part of town and the beauty parlor she works for ends up being a front for more illicit activities. She still does hair, but really makes her money as a call-girl of sorts. Just one of those girls who gives handjobs in the back to sad old men. It's easy money (I'm pro-sex work lol so I don't make this a big deal, but she's still a minor and it's wrong), but she's disgusted with herself (and men). At this time, she isn't very good at manipulating men--it's more like they have power over her and it reminds her of her father, only making her angrier and angrier.
It is also of note that while she's working at the Parlor, she encounters Sarah Bellum via tv (Ms. Bellum is just an intern with the Mayor at this point). She's instantly fascinated by this other Sarah and forms an odd (slightly toxic) parasocial relationship with her. Sara thinks it's amazing that Sarah went to school and is just so glamourous. Ms. Bellum is really everything Sara wants to be.
*time skip*
Sara falls in love with some jackass. Still slightly obsessed with Sarah Bellum. Still working at the parlor. Sara feels stagnant and worthless. Her jackass boyfriend and a few of his shitty friends end up attacking Sara and cutting off her hair (which was her prized possession). She gets away, but not totally unscathed.
In the process of running away, she bumps into a mysterious man who promises He can fix whatever is troubling her. The mysterious man manipulates an affirmative answer out of Sara and he "fixes" her problem. The man is HIM and he transforms her into the woman we all know as Sedusa (who goes by Ima when disguised).
“And what is it that you want?” HIM tsked, almost sounding bored.
She looked back at the mirror, at her broken reflection and lipstick smeared down her face. With a sore, croaking voice she sneered, “I want my fu-fucking hair back.”
Behind her, the entity smiled, Its facing splitting wide into two, “Oh, now that I can do.”
She watched through the shattered glass how It—HIM—snapped its odd monstrous claw. HIM’s smile grew more grotesque, as a thin bead of sweat began to break out on her forehead.
“This might hurt a little bit,” the entity giggled as she began to hyperventilate, “but what is that you little humans say?" HIM paused, watching her with a tilt of Its head as pain shot through her temples, "Oh, that’s right—”
She gasped and then screamed, dropping to her knees as she clutched at her head. Something wiggled underneath her scalp, pushing harder and harder to break against the resistance of her skin. It felt as if something was pressing against her brain, trying to carve away at her skull.
“—beauty is pain.” HIM growled, appearing next to her so Its voice—now low and baritone—was right in her ear, and It grasped her by the chin forcing her to watch the mirror as snake-like tendrils sprouted from her skull. She cried out at the sight and her body trembled with the pain.
One black, oily, twisted snake after another shot out of a bloody crater on her head. She tried her best through the pain to shake HIM off—to look away—but It held her still with a twisted laugh. She thrashed and howled in agony as the blood poured down her face in rivets. HIM didn't let go. Instead, HIM forced her still, grabbing her by the chin so she'd peer directly into the broken mirror.
Sara paled right before her very eyes, from a peachy skin tone to a white paste. She tried to blink away the tears that wouldn’t stop welling in her eyes—the green of them becoming more acidic with every passing second.
“The fun should be ending soon.” HIM giggled again, Its voice back to a soprano, but she was too forgone to hear him, as her eyes began to lull into the back of her head.
Eventually, when the transformation is complete, we see this:
Sara had stayed collapsed on her knees after HIM vanished into thin air. She stared with wide eyes as blood, sweat, and tears dripped onto and rolled off her thighs. She hardly paid attention to her surrounding, all she could do was listen. She listened to her hair. She listened to the constant moving, living, mass that slithered around her head, neck, and shoulders. The coils almost seemed to be cooing at her, comforting her through her pain, offering sweet apologies for what they had done. They promised her nothing bad would ever happen again. They were a dangerous shield forged from her own body to protect her.
Her body. A vessel for this odd new life.
“Heh.” A deranged giggle escaped her mouth, “Heh. Heh ha—hahaha!” She laughed until her throat burned and tightened, her tears finally drying.
It was instantaneous. It was powerful. Sara had never known love before, but she loved them. She loved every single one of them.
And here she had thought she'd never be a mother.
Sara becomes Sedusa--taking inspiration from Medusa, her childhood fascination. She wonders if HIM knew, but she wouldn't bother asking. She feels sexy, powerful, and unstoppable. Her hair has instilled a new confidence in her and she's finally able to stand up for herself. Soon, she realizes that she's an "exotic" beauty and has men eating out of her hand. She isn't someone who kills, but if she gets bored (or feels threaten) she will.
Things are going good until the PowerPuff Girls are finally created. When she sees them for the first time, she pities them, especially when they're run out of town. She relates to them for not being loved little girls, but is completely shocked when she finds out they've won the town over. This shock turns into resentment and she decides she'll get even with the girls
Then, cue canon. Sedusa seduces the Professor. We see what happens in that episode plus a little more. Sedusa takes out a lot of her repressed childhood trauma on the girls and is plain awful to them. By the time her stint with the Professor is over, she hates them all.
Then, there's the episode with Bellum. Bellum becomes the Athena to Sedusa's medusa. Bellum is still this elevated person in Sedusa's mind, and it only makes sense to Sedusa that she should become Bellum. To become Bellum, Sedusa seduces Bellum and they end up having a brief relationship. (Sedusa pretends to be an intern at City Hall and the two ladies bond over having the same first name). Eventually, Sedusa reveals her plot and the canon events happen. (Bellum is heartbroken over Sedusa).
I'd like to emphasize that Sedusa's relationship with Bellum almost turns her "good," but her hair coils (HIM's curse) prevents her from taking those steps. Her coils prevent close loving relationships--since they're supposed to be shield that keeps people out, preventing any chance that Sedusa's heart may be broken again. [coils represent her inability to heal from the past]
Then we run through a quick montage of her other appearances.
[throughout all of this, I would write how her hair coils are making her more and more insane]
*time skip to after the events of the og show*
This is where my plot can go anywhere. I think Sedusa becomes sloppy, maybe kills a politican. She's spirialing out of control and mad that she can't find any real happiness in her life. I think it'd be interesting to show her interacting with the rrb, not necessarily to show their relationship, but to show how Sedusa would be infuriated that HIM had sons, especially sons who hurt girls for fun ( i.e. the ppg) (a real 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend' moment for her). She's also infuriated at HIM for turning her into a monster, so being mad about his "sons" is just an excuse to get even with the entity.
To hurt HIM, she decides to hurt the boys, but the girls interfere. They won't let innocent live be taken, no matter the person's moral alignment. This infuriates Sedusa even more than HIM ever could. Because again, despite all the shitty things that have happened to the Girls, they are still good as opposed to Sedusa, who ended up bad. She doesn't understand why she had to end up the way she did.
However, the girls aren't the people who finally "defeat" Sedusa. Instead, that honor is left to Ms. Bellum (Sedusa's "Athena"), who Sedusa still very much loves in her own sick twisted way. Paralleling the Sedusa/Bellum episode in the og show, the girls (while protecting the boys) are almost defeated by Sedusa until Bellum intervenes. It's revealed that Bellum had a shitty childhood too (again enforcing the parallels/differences between the two women) and believes that it's not too late for Sedusa to change her ways (it’s a real “I’m rotten work” “no it isn’t. Not if it’s you” moment) In a moment of mental clarity, where the coils (and by extension HIM) cannot affect her judgement, Sedusa releases the boys and the girls. Sedusa doesn't stay though, like Bellum pleads, she gets scared and runs away. (but does tell Bellum she’d always love her, whatever that’s good for)
[also I decide bellum to defeat sedusa to show that the girls are still to young and that adults should be the ones dealing with other adults] [and bellum has a good track record of doing just that]
Idk if she'd be gone forever, but it's implied that she hasn't been seen in Townsville for a long time. What she gets up to is left ambiguous. She can't be good because of her hair coils, but she doesn't want to be bad. idk I don't want it to have a sad ending, but I don't think it can really be happy.
-----
I try hard to play with the concept of beauty, womanhood, purity, love and how negative/positive responses to trauma affect these concepts. Idk it's really rough and needs to be thought out more, especially the end, but I think Sedusa deserves her own story.

Ask game: 25 and 26! ;)
25. Most underrated companion?
in terms of fandom the only companion that I see being more hated than loved is Kamelion ahsdfgjk. and I don’t feel strongly enough about him to argue that he’s underrated. I feel like there’s at least someone who loves every companion tbh. so I’m going to go with Martha for being underrated by the writers/plot.
26. Most overrated companion?
ghdfjk I’m probably going to upset someone with this but. Sarah Jane. not that she’s an objectively bad companion!! I just feel like she’s hyped as being super unique and special, especially by off-tumblr fandom content if that makes sense? like so many of the ‘top 10 companions!!1!’ lists have her as the only classic who companion, and she’s hyped as the Best female companion from classic who when. sure she might have been the first to use the word feminist but there’s plenty of other great female companions before and after.
still think she was dealt a bad hand in School Reunion though. saying she’d waited around for the Doctor felt like such an anachronistically new who take.

Which Doctor/Companion combos do you think actually hooked up on the TARDIS? Mine are: Doctor and Jamie Jamie and Zoe Doctor and Liz 4th Doctor and Sarah Jane 4th Doctor and Romana I. The sex was so good it caused her to regenerate into Romana II and they kept going. 5 was asexual, but Nyssa and Tegan went at it like a mouth on legs ;) 6 and River 7 and River 8 and Charlie 8 and Tamsin War and 9 too damaged to think about it 10 and Rose for sure 11 had too much outside that he was exhausted
FIrst Doctor? Not at all.
2nd to 5th? i feel like any of the companion combos together you listed ; any with the Doctor? 3rd, and 4th. I think Peri definitely was with any of the Doctor’s she was with : 5th but maybe a strain with 6.
I definitely feel like River with any of the Doctor’s.  Agree on 8 and Charlie / Tamsin.  Agree on Romana and i have to say that i feel like : the Doctor and Rani even if it was some fwbs / more than one night stands but cut off of it. I feel like there was some hinting stuff with the Doctor and Master if were being honest. Definitely 3 and Jo Grant.
I always thought Nyssa and Tegan has this gay shit, so im glad you agree. Definitely agree on War and 9 ; that was the last thing on their minds. I disagree o nthe Doctor & Rose ONLY BECAUSE if near the end of their companionship together and she was stuck with the metacrisis in a parallel dimension? Just now admitting their feelings to each other { Rose directly and 10 being obvious but not saying it out right and the whole timelord human difference thing? I feel like they didn’t but could have end up doing so. }
For any other people with the Doctor save for any of the mentioned classic companions , i would say maybe Clara tbh because that whole stuff with her and the Doctor, especially 11 and 12? But thats just me.
ANd with the way its looking / hinted / suggested / wanted : Yaz and 13 maybe? ;)
but not at all:
Rose { but that could have changed had she stayed in universe }
Martha { her feelings weren’t reciprocated }
Donna {full on ass BROTP for the win ; nothing there whatsoever }
Obviously not Mickey, Rory, Graham, Ryan, Amelia, Bill, Nardole.
----
Lastly , i do have to say? I feel like Jack too somewhere. Take your pick on 9 and or 10. I feel like if anything 1 or not at all bc 9 left him behind and 10 ran from him and said being around him just feels wrong. So ehh maybe not Jack at all, idk.

1. Dogs or Cats? I honestly love both so much, but my dogs are my babies and I love them so imma have to say dogs, sorry cats!!!!  2. YouTube celebrities or normal celebrities? Both I guess? I dunno, the whole concept of celebs is kind of weird when you think about it. I think I’d be more starstruck if I met some of my favourite ‘conventional’ celebrities than if I met a youtuber I really like >.< 3. If you could live in anywhere were would that be? I don’t mind Britain tbh, I’m probably gonna live here most, if not all, my life. But I’d love to live in Australia for a while, and a lot of scandinavian countries have really good inferstructure so it would make sense to move there. But yeah, Australia is like dream place to live
4. Disney or DreamWorks? Don’t make me choose!!! >.< 5. Favorite childhood TV show? Okay, so any Brits are gonna get a real trip down memory lane cuz british kids tv slapped XD I watched: Young Dracula, M.I.High, Tracy Beaker, Horrible Histories, Dick and Dom, Mona the Vampire, TMi, Chucklevision, The Cramp Twins, Dani’s House, The Sarah Jane Adventures, Kerching!, Raven, Sorry I’ve got no Head, The Slammer, Watch my Chops,  6. The movie you’re looking forward to most in 2020? I just saw the trailer for the new Scooby Doo film, and at first I was like ‘Nooo, why are they remaking it again’ but then after watching realised it actually looks kind of good so I guess that? :’) 7. Favorite book you read in 2019? I haven’t read a book in YEARS and I feel terrible about it >.< 8. Marvel or DC? Marvel all the way!! 9. If you choose Marvel favorite member of the X-Men? If you choose DC favorite Justice League member? Storm and Mystique are the coolest by far, especially Mystique, she has the best power in my opinion 10. Night or Day? Both? I’m more active at night, but I really like the day time too 11. Favorite Pokémon? I don’t know why but I’ve always really loved Lucario, it’s not the best pokemon by far, but I loved the pokemon movie about Lucario as a kid and now they’re a must have on every team ^.^ 12. Top 5 bands: Only five!?!?!? Okay okay, uuuh, imma go with: Vulfpeck, Gorillaz, Mcfly, Radohead, Nirvana  13. Top 10 books: Aaahhh, don’t make me feel baaaaaad >.< Look, I was a huge book nerd as a kid and then I just stopped and haven’t been able to get into a book in ages so right now I don’t have a top 10, but ask me in a year and hopefully I’ll have one then okay? 14. Top 4 movies: Only four!?!? lol, lets go with: Princess Mononoke, School of Rock, Dreamgirls, Whisper of the Heart, Scott Pilgrim vs the World 15. America or Europe? even though I live in Europe theres so much of it I’d love to visit! It’s such a cultural continant ^.^ 16. Tumblr or Twitter? Tumblr, duh! XD 17. Pro choice or Pro life? Pro choice 100%, I wont write a speech but yeah, could say a lot about this... 18. Favourite YouTuber: Dylan is in Trouble! He’s so funny and smart and rly attractive 19. Favourite author? I don’t have one >.< 20. Tea or coffee? I like both, but tea is kind of like water in my house, it’s the go to drink, we die without tea here lol 21. OTP? Does Ryland and Shane count??? Cuz I totally ship them AND it’s canon XD Fictionally I still ship Eleana and Stefan from TVD. Yes I know it’s a dumb show, yes I know he’s still pretty cute with Caroline BUT THEY SET UP THAT THEY WERE GONNA BE TOGETHER FOREVER ASDFGHJKL 22. Do you play an instrument/sing? Yessss, I sing, thats my main instrument. I can also play piano, guitar and uke, and kind of the bass guitar, i wanna get better at bass i rly love it ^.^
I’m pretty sure everyone has done this by now, so if you’re reading this then I officially tag you! Yes, you! Don’t scroll away! Copy and paste and DO IT lol XD

So, uh, Sarita existed and I'm disappointed that she was stuffed in the fridge
Yeah that's one of my biggest complaints of season 2.
Sarita was a really terribly handled character in the end when you really think about it.
Her sole reason for existing is just so she can die and allow Kenny to turn angsty in episode 4 so we can then have the good ole' 'Kenny vs everyone else' plot and then bring in Jane as the alternative 'sane' survivor option for players who also replaces Luke as the rival to Kenny.
I get that she was intentionally written to be Katjaa 2.0 so we can see that Kenny still clings to his family and stuff, but I always hated just how much her character was tied to Kenny and not so much fleshing her out as her own person (something I give major kudos to the characters of TFS).
If I asked you to describe Sarita as a character I bet you that 90% of people would say, "she's nice", which is correct. Because it's all she really has got going for her - because our entire interactions with her either involve her being motherly to Clem/Sarah or pointing out how much "Kenny has changed" and trying to foreshadow Kenny flipping his shit (which is kinda what Kenny was like to begin with tbh lol).
Even her relationship with Kenny itself is pretty shallow - which I suppose is the point since we are meant to get the impression that Kenny sees her as an emotional substitute for Katjaa and someone that he can feel like a dominant figure around again (like "the man of the house").
But that just makes his reaction in episode 4 less emotional when he starts saying he loved her, because it really didn't seem that way? Even the reasons for her character to be there weren't even that necessary to be honest.
Like you didn't really need Sarita to die in order for Kenny to distance himself from the group or have conflict with them or even place all of his worth on taking care of AJ. Because Kenny was already doing all of that to begin with. We saw him in practically every episode clashing with the cabin group due to a difference of opinion, closing himself off from them by singling out Clem and only trusting her with his ideas for the most part unless we needed help, ect.
And do you really think Kenny wouldn't feel the same way about AJ if Sarita was still alive? As soon as Rebecca died, Kenny would have still attached himself to AJ even if Sarita lived. The only thing I can think of that would never have happened if Sarita lived is that Kenny wouldn't have grudged Clem... which was pointless in the end anyway since he forgives her no matter what. It's quite a shame just how replacable Sarita is. Especially when they could have done so much more with her.
She could have became someone who started out as the 2nd Katjaa but gradually grew into her own distinct person with layers to her. Or hell, maybe stayed the same way she was in s2 but have her character eventually go against Kenny which is a tragic mirror to Katjaa eventually "leaving" him in season 1 - which could have been expanded on further if maybe Sarita thought AJ would be better with her than Kenny (after seeing how he beat Carver she begins no longer trusting him maybe).
Sarita had potential.

doctor who/torchwood/sarah jane adventures viewing order
i don’t know if anyone else will be interested, but in my rewatch of doctor who, i’ve been watching torchwood and the sarah jane adventures alongside it bcos i’d never seen them b4, and i thought i’d post the sort of, viewing order for them, in case anyone else wanted 2 do the same?? 🤠💕
i rly recommend it, it adds So Much 2 the experience, from getting 2 see some old companions come back, to seeing some monsters again who only got a small appearance in doctor who, and best of all, it makes the stolen earth/journey’s end at the end of season 4 so much more satisfying to watch, when u know who all the characters are!! 😭✨
it’s pretty much just the order they aired in, altho i did wiggle a couple of episodes around just so it flows better, so this’ll just save anyone else from having 2 figure it out (which was especially annoying 4 me, especially figuring out where 2 fit david tennant’s specials in 😅) but anyways, here it is!!
- doctor who (season 1)
- doctor who (season 2)
- torchwood (season 1)
- doctor who (season 3)
- sarah jane adventures (season 1)
- doctor who: voyage of the damned (tbh you could just watch this along w/ the rest of season 4, it doesn’t rly matter, but this is where it actually aired, and i think it goes well here bcos otherwise u have a Huge break w/ no doctor who between doctor who season 3 and 4 😧)
- torchwood (season 2)
- doctor who (season 4)
- sarah jane adventures (season 2) (if you don’t feel like splitting the doctor who specials up, you probably could just watch sarah jane season 2 and 3, torchwood season 3 and then the specials all together, but i like this order bcos it spaces them out a bit more 😅)
- doctor who: the next doctor
- doctor who: planet of the dead
- torchwood (season 3)
- doctor who: the waters of mars
- sarah jane adventures (season 3)
- doctor who: the end of time
and that takes you 2 the end of david tennant’s doctor who!! however, torchwood and sarah jane adventures both carried on into matt smith’s era, so depending on whether you like him or not, you can either carry on following this order, or just skip the doctor who seasons in it and finish off torchwood and sarah jane 😅
- doctor who (season 5)
- sarah jane adventures (season 4)
- doctor who: a christmas carol
- doctor who (season 6, episodes 1-7)
- torchwood (season 4) (this is the last torchwood season - also, doctor who season 6 was split into 2 parts for some reason, so this is where torchwood aired, but if you wanted you could watch this either before or after season 6)
- doctor who (season 6, episodes 8-13)
- sarah jane adventures (season 5) (and this is the last sarah jane season, so after this, you can just go onto doctor who season 7 and then the rest of doctor who, if you want!!)
so thanks for reading this if you did, and i hope someone finds it useful!! ☺️💕💖

🏳️‍🌈 pride q&a snagged from @veroniquemagique
❤sexuality: Bisexual baby
🧡pronouns: she/her
💛gender: female
💚relationship status: Single AF sadly lol
💙celebrity crush: Just one? LOL. Jane Fonda, Hillary Clinton, and Nicki Minaj are like the top 3 right now lol. And I guess Drake and Mahershala Ali for men lol. Felicity Huffman used to be in this category but yeah, having mixed feelings about her currently obviously (but she did really turn me on in a horny angry way in the 2 episodes of When They See Us that I’ve watched so far 🙈 Even though the character she is portraying is despicable,  lawyer + villain = hot I guess lol 🙈)
💜best friend: Well my BFF forever and ever from high school Lizz, is straight sadly lol but I have another really close friend from high school, K, who is bi as well and so is her sister and her super soon-to-be husband. But K and I and her sister and fiance don’t really talk about bi/queer issues or topics too much.
In terms of a close friendship where we talk about Bi/Queer stuff all the time, then @zestycactus is an amazing friend! She is always there if you need to talk through problems/issues but overall she is just a really nice person, a kind friend, and a fun person to chill with 😊 Gotta give her a lot of credit for helping me to be able to accept my bisexuality a lot more over the past year and a bit, just from our talks and by always being able to come along to queer events or programs with me when able to and for bringing me along to my first one ever over a year ago 😁
Side note: If you’re LGBTQ+ and struggling with your sexuality or even if you’re not and you just want to be around other queer people or make new queer friends, and you have an (LGBTQ) community centre around you with support groups or networks that hold regular meetings and events, I would highly recommend just from personal experience! And if you don’t have access to something like that because I know not everybody does and you ever want to talk, about LGBTQ issues or not and you just want to chat, my ask box and inbox is always open!
💙when did you come out: I must have figured it out for myself when I was 12/13/14, no later than 14 for sure, I was probably 12/13 ish. Then I randomly came out to a few classmates around then on an overnight school trip that year (7th grade). And then came out to a lot of (if not most) friends over the course of high school and kept coming out to friends throughout university. And I have been coming out ever since lol. As any queer person knows,  it never ends. I think I only told my mom a few months ago, like almost a year ago now? It was last August/September ish, I’m gonna say? And yeah, still have a lot of coming out to do to a lot of family still but its a “cross that bridge when I get to it” situation, if I ever got into a serious enough relationship with a girl and wanted to introduce her to family but right now, its a long shot of that happening any time soon lololol.
💚first person you came out to: It was over 10 years ago so the memories of that time period are fuzzy but I’m gonna say it was random classmates I was sharing a room with on an overnight school leadership camping trip thing, one of them was a close friend but an on and off again friend (it was a super complicated friendship/situation throughout high school and middle school actually lololol) and thinking back on it, I have no idea what made me come out to them, then and there because I wasn’t really friends with the other 2 girls and one of them was a huge bitch lol. Maybe I just needed to say it out loud to somebody while I was coming to terms with it?
💛first gf/bf: My high school BF from near the end of high school and into most of our first year of university before we called it quits. Meh, it wasn’t the best relationship for a first relationship, it was sweet and nice but it shortly became more of a friendship than a romantic relationship. I won’t go into details here because I’ve been rambling enough in this questionnaire lol (feel free to message me tho for more info if you’re really  that intrigued lol) but at least it taught us that we do make better friends than we did BF/GF, I don’t even know if either of us was TRULY interested in the other one or if we were just dating each other for the sake of having somebody while almost everyone else around us in our friends group at the time was coupled up and we didn’t want to feel left out *shrug* I think the latter is true for me tbh as bad as that sounds. But even though me and him have our differences in more ways than one, he is a really nice and funny guy and his mom taught him to treat girls well, even just friends lol and we do still meet up every few months for a dinner or a movie or whatever and its nice to catch up every once in a while with him. (LOL, I still wrote a book in this answer when I said I wouldn’t).
🧡ever had a crush on a straight person: Like all my crushes lol. Even with straight men I’m usually rejected or they are already taken and I had a bad experience with a crush in my last year of university so since then, I’ve just tried not to develop hardcore crushes on people besides little crushes that I know won’t go anywhere. And even though there is one straight friend I will always crush on, I know she is straight and nothing will ever happen lol so I respect that and would never tell her my feelings because it would probably ruin the friendship and I cherish the friendship aspect too much to do that.
❤fallen for a friend: I think I answered this in the last question. YES lol. It’s never ended well for me except for my first BF. I definitely don’t make moves anymore or let feelings be known. But then again, I haven’t had a serious crush on anyone since my disasterous experience in 4th year of university lol. And I talked about my crush on my straight friend in the answer to the previous question as well.
💛best LGBTQ+ friend: @zestycactus , reasons why are listed in the best friend question above. And my best friend K from high school as mentioned in the best friend answer above also, but both being LGBTQ isn’t really a factor in our friendship, its just a coincidence lol.
💚person that made you doubt your sexuality: I don’t think any one specific person ever has but those “How do you know you’re bi?” “How can you be in love with both?” kinds of questions do get tiresome. I don’t really get them aimed at me specifically by any one person luckily but just hearing and seeing those sentiments in general in everyday life or hearing stories from other people is tiresome and annoying. And not so much doubt but I have one straight friend who I love and I know she is just trying to be a supportive friend and ally but she seems really INSISTENT on me dating women, creating dating profiles on dating apps to meet women specifically, she’s always getting on my case about getting on dating apps etc and while I appreciate the support lol and I am more attracted to women than men (and I did express that I would prefer dating girls right now) but like I’m bi, I’m not ruling out men completely yet if I do decide to make dating profiles and I end up clicking with men or one specific guy. I honestly will probably end up with a girl, or I want to see what dating girls is like, but like I said, men aren’t completely out of the equation for me either because anything can happen lol. Life is unpredictable. I feel like if I date men or meet a guy somehow this friend is gonna say something about me dating women and ask why I’m not with a woman and that she thought I wanted to date women etc. So that does worry me about dating men if it ever happens but this friend is very inadvertently pushy in general (in her own weird supportive way lol) so I just gotta roll with it and appreciate the support, and if I end up dating a guy in the future who makes me happy, and she is “upset” or confused or something, I just gotta remind her that its my life, my happiness and my choices at the end of the day.
💙proud of your sexuality: Hell yeah 10/10, I’m so happy to be bi, even though I still have bad days, doubts, insecurities, worries, my questioning periods etc, but the pride outweighs those feelings for the most part most days. And like I said, going to bi support groups and queer events really helped the past year and a half.
💜comfortable with your sexuality: Getting there. A lot better than I was a year and a half ago. I’m getting more and more comfortable and proud every day. I’ve definitely been on a journey for the past year and a half of self-love, mindfulness, weight loss, and just building better habits and patterns in general. Not just in terms of my sexuality but I took a lot of risks this past year and a half and not all of them have paid off yet but even though I have the odd bad day still like we all do,  I am in a much better state of mind in general than I was a year ago, 2 years ago, especially 3 years ago. And as I’ve talked about in this questionnaire, support groups for bi people really helped with becoming more comfortable with my sexuality, and helping me to embrace it more over the past year or so.
💙describe yourself: Coffee addict, foodie, pop culture lover (especially movies and TV shows lol), fun-loving, kind, caring, hardworking, creative, silly, great friend
💚LGBTQ+ hero: Idk, Sarah Paulson and Lily Tomlin? I’m sure I could answer this better after giving it more thought but its late.
💛favorite part of being LGBTQ+: The friendships/connections I’ve made in the queer community, both online on social media and in real life through the support groups, queer events etc. Feeling like I don’t have to fit into the neat little heteronormative box. And this is shallow but thank god I was born with the ability to appreciate and love women both physically and intellectually because hey, women are hot af, let’s be real lol.
🧡advice to younger you: It’s okay to like girls, there is nothing wrong with it, being bi and loving women is beautiful. Love yourself some more. You deserve credit for everything you’ve gone through and overcome. You’re amazing and you’re going to do great things with your life, meet and befriend amazing people one day, and accomplish things you never imagined.
❤️do you ever wish you weren’t LGBTQ+: No? Why would I? As Lady Gaga would say, I was born this way lol. I mean yeah there’s hard times, difficult moments, hard things about being queer but being bi specifically carries its own hardships. And like I said, the good outweighs the bad. There’s hard days, moments, questioning periods etc but I wouldn’t change things for the world. Thank God I’m not straight lol. If only for the fact that I love women too much lmao. NGL, I often wonder what its like for my straight female friends who don’t see women the same way I do lol and who don’t see them in a romantic sense if that makes sense. It’s probably a whole lot easier to be straight but I really wouldn’t change things if I could.

//Questions for Muns of Canon Muses - 1, 4, 5, and 13
questions for muns of canon muses
1. what is the biggest headcanon deviation from the canon material that you have incorporated into the way you write your muse? why did you come up with it?
that maggie succeeds in killing barnabas is definitely my biggest change. tbh, i didn’t come up with this idea on my own (i was literally inspired to make this blog by this post) but i was immediately taken by the concept. maggie has always been one of my favorite characters, and it kills me how poorly her character was treated by the show after her kidnapping plot was resolved.
now, i understand why the writers never killed off barnabas, and i acknowledge his importance both as a character and as the stroke of genius that saved the show from cancellation. but as a viewer, it’s maddening that maggie never got the justice she deserved. she’s had her memory of her kidnapping erased twice over the course of the show (which, again, i understand the choice despite not agreeing with it), but then after vicki leaves the show, she’s brought in as the replacement governess – a plot development that makes no sense and leaves the character with a drastically altered personality, as it’s clear that her role now is simply to fill in for vicki. but the greatest insult to injury is that from this point forward, the writers attempt to make barnabas/maggie a thing – again, completely disregarding her original characterization in favor of reducing her to vicki’s role, which had already been greatly diminished since the show moved from a jane eyre-esque gothic to an all-out spook show. after her flashback and subsequent second memory wipe, no mention is made of barnabas’ victimization of maggie ever again. it’s literally swept under the rug and forgotten about, even when maggie falls victim to another vampire.
tldr; maggie evans is an amazing character who deserved so much better, and my canon divergent blog is my attempt of sorts to redeem her later characterization and play her out as the badass that she is.
4. have you made any outright changes to the canon material in order to write your muse the way you wanted (entire scenes you chose to omit, chapters you say never existed, things you assume were never said, etc.)?
again, maggie killing barnabas is something that never happened in canon, but vampire slayer maggie evans is just too good of a concept to pass up. even the audios from big finish realized this – in bloodlust, maggie finally gets to stake somebody! it’s too bad that she’s still way too forgiving of barnabas, even though she remembers everything he’s done to her at this point. her hatred of barnabas is something i keep across all of my verses, up to and including my canon (when she regains her memory) and audio verses.
besides that, i can’t really think of many concrete examples on the spot, although i’m sure there’s other instances. as somebody else in the fandom once put it, dark shadows canon is like a choose your own adventure book. even canon contradicts itself (many, many times) and the show has several storylines taking place in actual parallel universes, so canon is honestly irrelevant as far as i’m concerned. i pick and choose what i like and leave out the rest.
5. what is an aspect of your muse’s canon material or canon existence that you never had the opportunity to explore but really want to?
maggie’s stints at windcliff sanitarium. she was committed there twice, once after the kidnapping, and the other after being attacked by the vampire roxanne drew. i feel that i don’t talk about it enough, and i’d love the opportunity to explore that part of her backstory. also, i really want to delve into her childhood – between her mother’s death and her father’s alcoholism, she dealt with a lot in her formative years. the audiobook clothes of sand goes into both of these aspects, and chronicles her first supernatural experiences with a character called “the sandman” – the memories of whom she has largely suppressed, but who has had a significant impact on her psyche nonetheless.
13. what canon character do you really wish your muse could interact more with?
WILLIE LOOMIS, hands down. he and maggie have such an interesting and tragic dynamic, and he’s the only one who can truly understand what she’s gone through (and vice versa). between the two of them, they share so much trauma. like maggie, willie’s also been screwed over by canon, although not to the same extent, and i’d love to write some threads in which they work through their trauma together.
besides willie, i’d also love to have maggie interact with angelique, carolyn, vicki, david, roger, amy jennings, julia hoffman, nicholas blair, tony peterson, any of the collinwood ghosts (josette, sarah, beth, rachel, daphne, jenny, trask), any of the characters from the audio series (especially kate ripperton, melody and mike devereux, jackie and rhonda tate, ed griffin) – as you can probably tell, i’d be thrilled to interact with ANY dark shadows character. but given how tiny this fandom is, i feel blessed just to have a quentin and now a barnabas!!

ED BOOKS
I stole this from mpa (because I wanted to save it) but I’m going to highlight those I’VE READ... also I might add some others as time goes...
Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson (it was a good read!)
Solitaire by Aimee Liu * (Considered first anorexia memoir. Thus, there are points when EDs aren't completely understood, but still totally worth the read. Available through KU.)
Unbearable Lightness: A Story of Loss and Gain by Portia de Rossi (it was really good and real tbh)* (One of my faves! A memoir that really captivated me)
Wasted: A Memoir of Anorexia and Bulimia * (Really is what it says on the tin and so much more. This memoir captures the darkest parts of EDs and is done very logically, stabilizing itself with facts that are intermixed by the chaos of EDs).
Just Listen by Sarah Dessen (Romance)
Thin by Lauren Greenfield (Nonfiction elements. Like the TV documentary of the same name, but of course, the book has more details.)
The Best Little Girl in the World by Steven Levenkron (NOT like the movie. Based on research of EDs in figure skating and gymnastics.)
Perfect by Natasha Friend
Purge: Rehab Diaries by Nicole J. Johns
Skinny by Ibi Kasliky
Loud Girl in the House of Myself: A Memoir of a Strange Girl by Stacy Pershall
Gaining: The Truth about Life After EDs by Aimee Liu (same author as Solitaire)
Identical by Ellen Hopkins * (Written in same manner as her other books, which is basically more like a poem than traditional novel format. LOVE this book and recommend the authors other, non ED books)
Letting Ana Go by Anonymous
Massive by Julia Bell
Keeping the Moon by Sarah Dessen (Romance)
Hungry: A Young Model's Story of Appetite Ambition and the Ultimate Embrace of Curves
She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb
Thin by Grace Bowman (memoir)
The Disappearing Girl by Heather Topham Wood (Romance, KU)
After the Strawberry by Adrienne Maria Vrettos
Purge by Sarah Darer Littman
Beautiful Me by Natasha Jennings
Hunger Point by Jillian Medoff (it was okay, the sister of mc has an ed)
Pointe by Brandy Colbert (Very dramatic. Deals with sexual abuse and also kidnapping in addition to an ED. Still not sure how I feel about this book, but a read that is very interesting, especially for those who like reading all things ballet. Also, this is nice because a black girl is not only a ballet dancer, but also has an ED, which is not portrayed enough!)
Looks by Madeleine George
Kessa by Steven Levenkron (I'd say this is probably for younger readers, but hey, you're never too old to read any book in my mind!)
My Sister's Bones by Cathi Hanauer * (Really liked this book and it isn't necessarily because of the ED part of it. I just like the whole feel and author's style)
Parperweight by Meg Haston
You Remind Me of You: A Poetry Memoir by Eireann Corrigan
Chalked Up: Inside Elite Gymnastics' Merciless Coaching, Overzealous Parents, Eating Disorders and Elusive Olympic Dreams by Jennifer Sey (Wow, that's a mouth full!)
Believarexic by J.J. Johnson
Feeling For Bones by Bethany Pierce
More Than You Can Chew by Marnelle Tokio
A Dance of Sisters by Tracey Porter
Gravity Journal by Gail Sobat
Elena Vanishing by Elena Dunkle (A memoir written with her mother)
Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver (Haven't read this in a long time, but I remember liking it)
A Trick of the Light by Lois Metzger * (One of my favourites! About a male with an ED.)
Starved by Michael Somers (Another good male ED novel)
Reckoning Daze by Michael Beaulieu (Currently free kindle edition is available)
Thin (Sharing Spaces Book 3) by Alicia Michaels (This is part of a romance series and is the third book. This one focuses on the ED character, but there are hints to the ED in other books. You don't necessarily need to read the other books in the series and can figure things out without reading them first. I actually read this book before the others)
Cake Dreams: A Memoir of Survival by Hoyt Phillips * (Another male ED book. Great multi-faceted portrayal of EDs and general metal illness. Available on KU)
Not My Father's Son: A Memoir by Alan Cumming * (It's been a while since I've read it, but I recall there being an ED. The book does not focus on the ED, but it is thrown in there, adding to an already fascinating, interesting read.)
Nothing by Robin Friedman (Another male ED book)
Lighter and Weightless (books 1 and 2 of Begin Again Duet series) by Gia Riley (Romance and available on KU)
...And All Shall Fade to Black by Layla Dorine (Gay Romance, male with ED, available on KU).
Still Water: A Boys of Bellamy Novel by Ruthie Luhnow (Gay romance, male with ED, available on KU)
Four Weeks, Five people by Jennifer Yu * (A male wannabe rock star with an ED. He is 1/5th of the main characters who all have other mental disorders and have been sent away to camp to help with their various mental illnesses).
Phat (Escape From Reality series) by Taylor Henderson (Part of a series. KU)
Life-size (no, not like the Lindsey Lohan movie) by Jenefer Shute (Available through Kindle unlimited)
Love Struck (Star Struck Series) by Amber Garza (Romance series. KU).
Fake Perfect Me by Cari Kamm (KU)
Out of Breath (Exposed Series) by Hazel Kelly  (KU).

Please Don't Go by Elizabeth Benning (A bulimic sent to a residence to recover and teams up with anorexic former enemy in hopes of escaping)
Girl, Interrupted by Susanna Kaysen * (very great!! I loved this one, it’s not only about the ed, but human nature and emotions) (A classic novel that everyone interested in metal health should read).
Do or Die (Fight or Flight Series #4) by Jamie Canosa (Romance series. KU).
Hungry: One Woman's Battle and Victory over Anorexia and Bulima by Jessica Skinner (The title pretty much says all you need to know. KU).
My Perfect Little Secret by Rebecca Coppage (KU).
Anorexic: The True Story of An Anorexia Survivor Who Found Love by Anna Paterson (This is romantic, but I wouldn't call it romance. KU).
Balance of Control by Stephanie Nance
Running in Silence: My Drive for Perfection and the Eating Disorder that Fed it by Rachael Rose Steil
My Not-So Secret by B.P. Morrison (KU).
26 Beats per Minute by Dez Wilder (Male with ED. Memoir. KU).

Feeding the Heart (Heart Series) by Marion Myles (Romance Series. KU).
Anorexic Annie by Sarah Burleton * (KU).
The Downside of Being Charlie by Jenny Torres Sanchez * (Male with ED, the ED is not a huge part of the book, but also deals with family dysfunction, which I always find interesting).
The Art of Starving by Sam J. Miller * (This is very interesting. Male with ED. Deals with super powers! Though, it could just be the ED causing the protagonist to think he has powers, but I'll let you be the judge!)
Skinny Boy: A Young Man's Battle and Triumph Over Anorexia by Gary A. Grahl
It Was Me All Along: A Memoir by Andie Mitchell * (about binge eater who lost weight)
Safety in Numbers by Brittany Burgunder *
Skinny: She was starving to fit in... (False reflections book 1) by Laura L. Smith (Currently free kindle edition is available).

Staving in the Search of Me by Marissa LaRocca

The Solitude of Prime Numbers by Paolo Giordano (the mc is anorexic but it’s not focused on it only. This book is about two outcasts who connect to each other and its effect of it in the course of their lives)
The Vegetarian by Han Kang (it’s very good and wild. It also tackles on feminism and societal issues as well)
