Okay, I’m new to Obey Me, but my inner graphic designer and my OCD are twitching about the colors of the demon symbols.
Why are Pride, Envy, and Gluttony ALL SWITCHED UP?!
Like…. what is this mess????
Everyone??? Is color coded??? And they just??? Messed up??? Somehow???
BUT THEY DIDN’T CHOOSE THE WRONG COLORS. OH NO. THEY JUST GAVE THEM TO THE WRONG DEMON.
THE CORRECT COLORS ARE RIGHT THERE. THEY MAKE SO MUCH MORE SENSE. ESPECIALLY IN LEVI’S CASE SINCE HIS SYMBOL IS LITERALLY A FUCKING HOOK.
And they just IGNORED IT. WHY?
Is this some sort of story integral thing? Please let there be a legitimate reason for this. Please don’t let it just be… like that. It’s been bugging me the entire time I’ve been playing. 🫠
It really isn’t that hard to get it right! Like… HERE LET ME FIX IT FOR YOU!!!!
First born: Lucifer - Pride
Second born: Mammon - Greed (white/yellow)
Third born: Leviathan - Envy
Fourth born: Satan - Wrath
Fifth born: Asmodeus - Lust
Sixth born: Beelzebub - Gluttony
Seventh born: Belphegor - Sloth
It’s a crappy edit but you gET THE IDEA! 😭😭😭

I’ve been seeing stuff that implies Luke is better in the PJO series because the gods abandon their kids and he’s sick of it.
That’s in the books too! That was his motive! Luke’s point as a character is to draw attention to the fact that the Greek gods are actually pretty awful. Riordan is commenting on myth through Luke. The series rests on themes of myth and one is that the gods are jealous, vengeful, and a hazard to people in dozens of stories. He’s a villain because of his methods, but he brings up both the PJO in-universe wrongs of the gods and the classical ones (when he explains the bear twins). I get the show provided a better example with Athena being painted so poorly. But Luke’s point is exactly the same and is heavily backed in mythology itself. He’s a really good villain concept. And I like that he’s bad not because he’s wrong but because he’s willing to stomp on his friends and innocents.

iirc you've said your comic will cover up to the end of the original trilogy (which means no trucy), so i was wondering what u think mia's relationship w trucy would be like? and also how the whole thing might've gone down differently w mia there in general
the exact circumstances surrounding phoenix's disbarment/adopting trucy would have some pretty different Flavor to it in this AU for reasons that will become blatantly obvious at some point* but i don't want to fundamentally change anything about it. the weird thing about being in a place where i'm essentially doing a full rewrite of a story i already think is good is that for as much as anything deviates we will ultimately be ending up in more or less the exact same place.
i think mia and trucy could have an interesting relationship... definitely in this situation i think mia has primary custody over pearl so i could see some sharing of parental duties stuff happening there just out of proximity. but whereas mia is doing this out of obligation phoenix has fully opted into it which i think would actually bring some strain to the relationship between the two of them. i also think they probably have pretty different ideas about how to raise a kid.
anyway considering mia's mom just fucking Ditched her in the same way trucy's dad ditched her i think mia would feel some kinship there and trucy is much more precocious than pearl so i think that paired with the fact that mia doesn't actually have to be her surrogate mother would make it decent enough for them to get along. the sort of backbone of the characterization i've settled on for mia is someone who has a rebellious/defiant streak against the expectations that have been placed on her as a child but simultaneously relies on those expectations for structure and guidance. so i think she'd chafe a bit at seeing trucy be so zealous about pursuing the family trade seemingly uncritically. i don't think she'd really be able to wrap her head around the fact that trucy actually does just love it despite the familial baggage and not really because of it. i could see this progressing into things being kind of weird between them when trucy is a teen because i think mia would be much more paternalistic in most ways than phoenix is, without Actually having any kind of parental authority over her.
there would definitely be a ton of fun stuff i could get out of these situations and in a world where i have infinite time and desire to draw i would show Everything. but im definitely going to die before i even finish the stuff i have already mentally committed to being part of the main arc. so we'll all just have to imagine it for now.

See my thing with Tamlin and his family is i tend to interpret it not as the pretty constant barrage of insane shit everyone else does and more like some of my familial relationships where theres genuine parts of his childhood with them that were fun and nice and then there were chunks that were absolutely horrendous and in some way Tamlin still loved them when they were still alive, he just knew it wasn't a love that he should keep, yknow?

The disrespect this show gets on a daily basis, from the production to the network(s) to even the pirates who prefer to rip shows like *checks notes* Big Brother Canada (same group)...
I wouldn't be calling them out if I hadn't done this myself, by the way. People who have never ripped a damn thing can stay in their lane. I have earned my stripes, I'm not someone who wants to talk shit about those who do this, and I understand the process involved. The webrips are a different story, as they are uploaded by Amazon whenever. The HDTV rips should be uploaded on time, shortly after the network airs the show, and it's the same process as it always has been to rip them. Uploading HDTV rips after the webrips has no value whatsoever, unless someone cares that much about the promo, which of course CityTV doesn't care enough to upload themselves, proving once again what a shitty network they are.
Hudson and Rex has an international fanbase, it shouldn't be so difficult to be able to watch it as an international fan in 2024.
