the fantastic four are one of marvel's darling old founding teams so there is pretty much... endless archival, ongoing, multimedia and games content popping up all the time.

They are also kinda one of the rare teams where the growth of the characters is consistent? The kids are allowed to grow older and events from every major run are carried/referenced by the next author so if you want to do chronological there's a lot of incentive and fun stuff.

What I'm reading/liveblogging rn is Hickman's Secret wars era, generally regarded as yaoi ketamine; It's a good epic narrative entrance point if you want to jump into it, and it eventually led into this huge marvel event that changed the multiverse and even brought miles morales into the main timeline, so its BIG and it happened in multiple books - the best way to go about it is;

You can basically read all the future/past ones as listed, or starting from the beginning of that author's period without worrying, bc they aren't as indebted to each other storywise.

You can also start somewhere else if you want or check out other single issues on the reading guides; It's not a crime! There's a lot of stuff with different takes and genres, I'm slowly chipping away at the secret wars era bc its just very thick and like a serious television drama attempt, except its also insanely funny sometimes.

Perhaps he is basically "quiet quitting" his career. That's what it's starting to look like.

Idk if you’ll post this & respond/share your thoughts, but this is what I think:

Chris has been talking about quitting for literal years. He always brings it up, but has also continued to work. From your insightful discussions, Nancy, it’s honestly apparent that Chris doesn’t care/doesn’t have the drive or passion like Pedro, for example, or anyone else in his age range - hungry for work, working towards something, critical acclaim, awards, etc.

It was starting to look that way, though, after Endgame with Knives Out and Defending Jacob - even with last year’s work for Lightyear & Grey Man. But at some point after, for whatever reason, it looked like he gave up. Maybe COVID & his mid-life crisis like you’ve brought up before? Maybe it was because of the $$$ performances, reviews, the fact he got no “acclaim” - Idk. It really seemed like he was trying and giving it all he got, though. It honestly was looking like he had a plan and was driven to get *somewhere* with his career & it honestly did look like he was going to get there. (At least that’s how it was looking to me.)

But then with the recent con appearances and these 3 recent films, Idk - it all just turned into “money grabbing.”

My theory? And I hate bringing it up, but maybe like you said, he gave up easily & around the time you know who came into the picture, and all these “money grabbing” things he’s been doing has to do with his new life, now? Maybe his plans changed because his personal plans changed too, you know? New life? Two weddings? Honeymoon? He’s the “bigger earner,” Idk. Maybe it’s to “pay off” all this stuff and his new life - maybe he truly doesn’t care anymore other than to make quick $$$, and that’s it. He’s going to ride off into the sunset, to live the comfortable lifestyle he wants, with the life he wants (apple picking and pumpkin carving day in and day out, while roller blading with his kids)? And going forward, he’ll do con appearances here and there & similar projects to Red One & Ghosted - because it’s quick $$$ & barely requires any effort on his part, you know?

Just my theory. But I can see this.

Then again, if there’s one thing I’ve learned from being in this fandom & especially over the course of the last couple of years - who knows anything anymore 🙄

So here's the thing that used to come up in old interviews all the time until the Marvel years. His ego (or self-esteem, however you want to call it) was obviously very easily bruised by being in projects which turned out to be universally panned projects. It really, really impacted him. He commented on it frequently in interviews, and you could tell it really did a mindtrip on him; he seemed almost despondent about being in "bad projects" for reasons beyond his control. By the time he did press for Push in the start of 2009 he seemed to be seriously considering quitting acting.

But then, a small miracle for him: the Marvel movies got consistent good reviews and consistent great box office. His attitude seemed to lift, and he seemed really happy again with his career. He got lucky with Knives Out being his first project post-Marvel.

But then look what happens when that trend starts to reverse in 2021 with Lightyear. That same equivocal talk from years ago has returned. His seeming disinterest in his career has returned. Despite doing more work over all these years, he still can't hand the criticism or perceived criticism of lackluster projects. I honestly believe this is what's happening now. The difference now is that he has accrued financial assets he never had back in the early part of his career, so he has no need/push to continue work if he's in this negative mind space.

thinking about mac and dennis being together during quarantine. not spending time with anyone else besides each other.

and in the end, it rebuilt their friendship. dennis was ready to rip mac in half for most of season 14, yet they’re back to sitting on their couch with nothing better to do than write country songs together.

and for some reason it bothers me that that’s all we got to see. they had to be quarantined for months. something changed during that time for mac to go from harassing dennis and needing dennis to care about him so badly that he poisons him, to the somewhat normal dynamic they had before mac came out. their plot line finally wasn’t about mac wanting to please dennis and dennis hating him for it. their plot line was just about them being them: assholes who argue and act like they’re more important than everyone else, but they’re doing it together.s13-14 mac and dennis probably wouldn’t have written country songs together. dennis would’ve verbally accosted mac for even suggesting they do something together.

but then covid happened, and they were stuck together. they were bored and they only really had each other.

i could chalk all this up to “two people are stuck in a house with no one but the other, they can’t be mad at each other forever” but that just doesn’t feel right when i think about how RCG portrays how charlie handled the quarantine.

charlie goes to dee. why would he ever do that? he hates dee, and frank is pretty much his favorite person in the whole world so why would he leave to go be with dee in the first place? and when he’s shown with her, he’s angry. he’s screaming at her. even when it shows them in 2021, trying to explain their business to the loan guy, he’s angry with her. and she’s angry with him.

versus mac and dennis, who are happy to talk about their business. dennis is touching mac on the shoulder and upper back like he always has. they try to play their song for the loan guy.

they had a good fucking time together in quarantine. they are best friends above all else.

SOMETHING had to have happened during those months of just mac and dennis. mac must’ve realized dennis will never commit to him and he stopped trying to force it. it’s like he’d rather keep dennis as his friend and live with the underlying feelings (based on his reaction later in the season when he gasps when dennis so much as touches mac’s hand) than have dennis hate him and reject every single piece of affection.

i just wanna know if they binged the predator movies and if so how many times did they do it before dennis got tired of mac’s commentary.

The evolution of the music industry is always in perpetual motion and social platforms are having more impact in addition to streaming. In 2021, one of the world's bestselling singers, Adele revealed the real reason for refusing to make music for TikTok. She explained that if labels are pushing artists to make music for 14-year-olds, who will do the music for her peers? The way we consume music now is based on algorithms and trends but yes, what about being more organic and independent from social applications and platforms? This is a topic we shared and discussed with Belgian-Egyptian musician Tamino in this piece.

TAMINO-AMIR MOHARAM FOUAD known mononymously as TAMINO is the grandson of Egyptian singer and movie star MUHARRAM FOUAD and rose to fame in 2018 with his debut album “AMIR”. If at the beginning the press and fans were comparing him to JEFF BUCKLEY, quickly he pulled away these comparisons as the way he defended his music was unique. On stage, Tamino is hypnotizing and has the power to transport you to another dimension.

After a two-year social media hiatus, TAMINO came back in April 2022 with some new music and released his second record "SAHAR" this September. Once again, this album is a masterpiece and hauntingly beautiful. Before defending it on stage, we met him in Paris where we talked about how his process of making music changed during the worldwide lockdown in 2020 and his approach to using social platforms with parsimony.

THIS ISSUE IS ABOUT EVOLUTION AND HOW DID YOUR FIRST RECORD "AMIR" CHANGE YOU HUMANLY AND AS AN ARTIST DURING THIS WORLDWIDE LOCKDOWN IN 2020?

I feel like my life changed drastically in a short amount of time. I've been on tour for a very long time and I was just focused on that. Seems I gain maturity quickly. When I got back home during the pandemic, I realized how I neglected many things in my daily life and how I was more isolated on tour than during the lockdown. I took the time to see my friends and meet new people. I was evolving as a human being, not as an artist. This made me feel more comfortable writing new songs and creating was an easy and quick process.

IF THE PROCESS WAS QUICK WITH THIS SECOND ALBUM, HAS THE WAY YOU MAKE MUSIC CHANGED?

The process was still pretty similar but being alone with an instrument to find out how to create new sounds was important to me. It's about taking the proper time to create the most authentic and melodic sound.

DID THIS LOCKDOWN HELP YOU TO BE MORE OPEN AND EXPLORE MUSIC WITH NEW PEOPLE AND COLLABORATORS?

I worked with the same bunch of producers, and I also created myself as a producer on this album because I learned a lot about recording and the process to develop demos for example. I was actively part of the production which created some big inspirations in the studio. I have known the double bass player for a long time as he was living behind my counter. We were hanging out together but it was the first time we teamed up to make music. We developed the concept of a dark room for music. We were going into a room and trying to figure out which instruments we'll use to create something organic. It was a great time for exploration.

THE MAIN CONVERSION SINCE YOUR FIRST RECORD IN 2018 IS THAT THE MUSIC INDUSTRY DEPENDS A LOT MORE ON SOCIAL PLATFORMS TO BE SUCCESSFUL. I KNOW YOU ARE VERY DISCREET ON THESE PLATFORMS BUT DID YOUR LABEL RECOMMEND YOU TO BE MORE PRESENT ON TIKTOK FOR EXAMPLE?

For sure they suggested that to me as they do with other artists. I have a TikTok account but my fans know that the only account I'm taking care of is Instagram. My management helps me to update all the other social platforms so it gives me more time to enjoy Instagram in a good way. Two years ago, I deleted Instagram from my phone to avoid being distracted because enjoying pure moments is important to me. Take time to be bored and sometimes it's when you're bored that creativity comes. Now I'm back on Instagram to promote my new project and at the same time, I'm happy to discover beautiful inspirations and imagery on this app.

IT IS PART OF THE JOB OF A MUSICIAN I GUESS NOW?

Yes, but it has to be genuine….if I can give advice to younger artists who struggle on social platforms is the genuine way you communicate with your community.

THIS TWO-YEAR SOCIAL MEDIA HIATUS HELPS YOU TO CREATE THIS BEAUTIFUL NEW ALBUM. IT'S YOUR WAY TO UNVEIL YOUR INTIMATE SIDE?

It was a beautiful moment making this album. It's about maturity and those moments in the studio making these songs was a hundred percent pure. It can't explain how it was such a meaningful moment when we gave birth to "Sahar".

ANY SONG ON THIS ALBUM THAT YOU CHERISH THE MOST?

Oh man, it is so complicated to choose as they are all my babies. It depends, as my favorite song now will not be the same tomorrow. I need to start playing them to compare. The main difference with the first album was that I was already playing them live before they got released.

HOW DO YOU FEEL WHEN YOUR ALBUM IS NOT EVEN OUT AND YOUR SHOWS ARE ALREADY SOLD OUT? ARE YOU MORE CONFIDENT KNOWING YOUR FANS ARE STILL HERE FOR YOU?

It’s amazing and I’m so grateful for this to happen. I mean, there are no words to express how it is a pure recognition for an artist. We have to look at laying bigger venues so people have more change to come. I like playing in small theaters as well as in a stadium. Both can feel intimate as well as people sharing the same energy.

YOUR MUSIC VIDEOS LOOK VERY CINEMATOGRAPHIC. THERE’S ANY MOVIE WHOSE AESTHETIC REPRESENTS YOU THE MOST?

I’m a movie freak and my brother is very into aesthetic images. If I need to name a movie, I will say one of my favorite movies, The Lord of the Rings.

Chapter Three - Either Way

Your apartment smelled like cigarettes. It had ever since you moved in. The previous tenants must have been smokers, and it had seeped into the walls and the floors. Now, it was just the natural state of your studio apartment.

You ate the leftovers in your fridge cold, not feeling like turning the stove on and running up the bill. After what happened with that woman today- you might need to take a few sick days to throw her off.

You didn’t recognize the movie on the television, but it was the first thing that showed up when you turned on the TV. You tilted your head as Angelina Jolie came onto the camera, her shirt black leather and low-cut.

And, because you didn’t have enough self will left, you grabbed the box under your bed and took out the photograph of the 1996 Wiskayok High School Girl’s soccer team. You traced your fingers over the faces, some of them dead, some of them alive.

But all of them had a rot inside of them. A piece of wood from that place that had been rotting ever since you left. Maybe it was like cancer. Maybe one day you would have to go back to reverse it. Maybe you didn’t care.

The plane was white with tan seats and red accents, private, chartered by Lottie’s dad for the team. The girls had already shouted their appreciation for him with smiles on their face.

Since the plane was already relatively small, and both varsity and JV were on the plane, space was limited. Not to mention a few people- like Coach Martinez’s son, Travis- refused to share a row.

“Hey,” a raspy voice said from next to you. “Mind if I sit here?”

You were expecting someone to sit next to you. But you weren’t expecting it to be Natalie Scatorccio.

Natalie Scatorccio was an enigma to you. She had black hair that she dyed platinum blonde and a shag haircut with messy black roots growing in. She wore that black leather jacket she could never be seen without, and you could faintly see a pack of cigarettes sticking out of her pocket.

You faintly remembered Natalie from elementary school- she always had this look in her eyes, even as a child, like she had seen the worst of the world and had never quite let it leave her.

“Sure,” you said, briefly wondering if she remembered you from elementary school, Mrs. Stubbs second grade class.

She shot you a toothy grin, before plopping down into the aisle seat and immediately leaning back, making the rickety plane seat creak and groan.

You smiled a little, turning back to your article about the boy’s baseball team- and their disappointing loss at states.

It was hard to write about a loss. You always wondered if anyone from the baseball team would read this, and be hurt by the recounting of their loss. You ended up just writing facts.

They lost to the Lakewood Lions, and everyone was hoping for a better season next year.

No fanfare, no grand recounting of the events like you did with the Yellowjackets.

The plane lurched forward, and your papers shuffled, and you found yourself gripping your wooden pencil.

“That about us?” Natalie asked, trying to peer past your spread hand.

“Oh,” you said, moving your hand as the plane settled into a steady drive forward. “No,” you smiled lightly, “it’s about the baseball team.”

She let out a snort.

“Losing serves them right. They’re all fucking assholes.”

“Yeah?”

She turned to you suddenly, staring straight into your eyes.

“Don’t you know? There’s rumors that they’re all apart of a cult. Looks like all that sacrificing didn’t get them that win.”

You frowned, thinking back to everything you knew about the baseball team-

“Oh, God, I’m sorry,” she said suddenly, trying to hide her laugh. “You should see you face, Jesus- nah, I’m just fucking with you.”

“Oh,” you mumbled stupidly, before a small laugh bubbled up from out of you. It felt real. It felt true, like something that had always been there and was just waiting to be released.

You felt like a sprouting plant, something that was always there, hidden beneath the dirt- and now you’ve risen up. Tentatively, on shaky feet, but there.

Natalie smiled at you once more, and you thought of last night, the weirdness in your breath, the faint color on her cheeks- but there was alcohol and smoke, a thousand ways to explain that away.

But there was no explaining the feeling in your chest.

It was distinctively different from fear, anxiety, it was like there was a tiny plant inside of you, a little patch of deadly nightshade- and wind was blowing by, making the leaves gently touch you. Giving you this weird feeling that made you warm up, staring like this at Natalie, looking at her eyes and her hair and her smile.

You looked away before you could embarrass yourself more.

Turbulence rocked the plane. You straightened, catching yourself, so you didn’t slam into Natalie. A few of the girls laughed, and you heard someone’s water bottle rolling around on the floor.

The intercom buzzed.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, this is your captain speaking.” The seatbelt sign became illuminated above you. “It looks like we’re going to be experiencing a bit more turbulence on this flight, so please stay calm and in your seats-”

Another sharp bout of turbulence. Your teeth chattered together, and the captain chuckled.

“Nothing to worry about, folks.” And then he didn’t speak again.

You looked around the plane, seeing some of the girls starting to put their books and papers back into their carry on bags, frowning at the orange seatbelt sign.

You looked at Natalie, but she was squinting past you, looking out the sliver of window, the rest of it covered by the shade.

Suddenly, the entire cabin erupted in bright white light. A few of the girls screamed, and another bout of turbulence followed in quick succession.

“The fuck-?” Natalie muttered, reaching past you to throwing up the plastic shade. You inhaled deeply as she reached past you, her arm touching your chest slightly, until her arm went rigid.

“What?” you asked, a little breathless, feeling crushed by her arm. She kept staring at the window.

And when you looked out of it, your heart started hammering in your chest.

Getting on this plane suddenly felt like you had drank a vial labeled poison.

The sky was the picture of violence, dark and stormy and littered with bits of lightening.

“Oh, my God,” you whispered.

Something ached in your chest, like some memory from a past life, something of violence and pain. Your heart started hammering and soon you realized the last bout of turbulence had never stopped.

The plane was shaking, shaking like you were, your teeth chattering and suddenly you heard a pop, and plastic hit your face.

Natalie grabbed what you know realized to be an oxygen mask and put her’s over her face. For a moment, it was like the entire world was crashing around you.

You wanted to close your eyes and say a few magic words, so when you opened your eyes again- all of this violence would be gone. The world would be intact- it wouldn’t be ending all around you.

An alarm started going off.

You squeezed your eyes shut.

“Are you crazy?” someone yelled at you, and grabbed you by the back of the neck to put the mask on your face. When you opened your eyes, Natalie was staring at you, her eyes rimmed black with eyeliner. She looked- concerned.

You took in a wild breath, barely able to get anything in through your own panic.

When she grabbed your hand, her’s was shaking along with yours.

Coach Martinez came around and started yelling at all the girls, helping those who were too scared to put their masks on like you.

The lights on the plane started flickering on and off, on and off, but if you stared real hard like this into Natalie’s eyes- then the rest all seemed to fade away.

The engine whined loudly, and then an ear-splitting sound could be heard, if you ignored the engine and Laura Lee’s praying- like something was falling.

And when you finally had the courage to look out the window, there was no more violence. There was only a peaceful forest.

And all you could do was stare at it in horror as the plane flew down towards it. Too fast to be a regular landing.

Something deep in you tugged. Something you had never felt before, like it had always been missing. And some instinctual part of you knew this-

The wilderness was here.

What's your intake on the sequel? Do you think there's a real possibility of it happening? I know we've seen that guy who has inside info saying they're currently in talks with the crew to sign on and that guy is literally never wrong but being in talks still doesn't mean anything. Also what's weird to me is that other projects prime created got a greenlit for a sequel very soon after the first movie came out (My Fault for example) and it's been almost 6 months with rwrb and we've got nothing.

Ok here we go.

I'm optimistic about a sequel being made. And I've been optimistic way before the insider info was leaked.

At the bare minimum, a RWRB sequel will generate a hella lot of profit for Amazon, and we know that those capitalists love nothing more than money. I don't think they're gonna let such a lucrative opportunity go.

As for why is it taking so long, I think it might be because they didn't have a sequel in mind when they made the original, and there isn't original material for a sequel. And yes I know there's Henry's bonus chapter, but the bonus chapter is a collection of snippets of their future life and not a cohesive story (which is why I'm advocating for a sequel series-). With the reaction of the fans and how much (positive) attention the original movie got, they know they have to be careful with the sequel and not fuck it up, or else we're gonna kill them. Shows like heartstopper, My Fault, for those, the original was done with a sequel in mind and more source material to spare. Good Omens on the other hand, was initially released in 2019, but didn't get green lit for a sequel until 2021.

We'll see. Honestly I rather take a little more time to create something good than something mediocre.

What is driving me insane though is why Amazon won't release more deleted scenes of the current movie 😭😭😭😭

Harry/Severus. Rated: E. Words: 3,686. Written for Snarry Adopt-a-Prompt 2022. Features reverse chronology and alternating POVs! Also: ambiguous/open ending (my love!) It feels like the Snarry of my youth, that angsty and spicy student/teacher, and some good old fashioned tragedy! I really feel like I pulled the thing off with this one! (What is said "thing"? Who knows.) Also, not to pat myself on the back but...that final line? Ouch.

4.) Cruel Summer

Harry/Sirius. Rated: E. Words: 5,445. Minor Harry/Severus. Written for HP Chan Fest 2022-2023. Features gorgeous art by @mrviran. It's a fic I've had floating around my noggin' for a few years but finally felt the call to write for Chan Fest! Our two beloved, troubled boys (Harry and Sirius) live together post PoA, and sees them through plenty of dysfunction, manipulation, and other problematic content 🤭 They have a very complicated (and angsty!) connection and I am so so pleased with how it came out! It's very bit as spicy, sad, and twisted as I'd hoped!

3.) The Curse of Anteros

Harry/Severus. Rated: E. Words: 52,566. Written for Snarry Bang 2023. Inspired by an episode of Charmed called "Magic Hour" (which itself was inspired by a movie called Ladyhawke). This is another idea I've long wanted to write, but never knew how to write it until now. Curses, fairytales, magical animals, true love!! Begins with student/teacher and carries on through time to old men Snarry!!!! This fic really grew way out of control and I'm so glad it did. It feels like...a "proper" story, if that makes sense? Actual plot! Novel length! Who am I even???? Anyway I'm stupidly proud of this one. Also: ART BY MRVILLAIN AGAIN, MY BELOVED TEAMMATE, I'M OBSESSED. Like...idk I'm blown away. Which sounds bad cuz this is my story, but I don't care. This is genuinely a story that not only was I so pumped to create, but one that I'd have LOVED to read as a reader! Had someone else written this I'd have lost my mind reading it. I hate saying that, it sounds so arrogant, but I don't care, I'm losing my mind over this one. I wrote it in like 2 weeks!!!! This fic POURED out of me! And I love it!

2.) Collateral Damage

Draco/Ron. Rated: E. Words: 16,071. Written for Ron-Draco Fest 2021. The first draft of this got to like 10k before I had to scrap it and start totally over. Somehow the original opening kept winding down the wrong path. So finally after fighting with it for way too long (and only 2 weeks to go until it was due), I gave it up and tried again. Decided: "hey, let's open with porn and see what happens." Well...That worked. That did it. All I needed was to open with a BJ for magic to happen, who knew? I ended up with a story I was super jazzed about, and to my great surprise (and pleasure!) others loved it, too!!

1.) Contempt | Devotion

Harry/Severus. Rated: E. Words: 20,400 | 25,843. Written for Snarry-a-Thon 2022 and 2023. This one's cheating a bit since it's technically 2 fics, but it's also the same story in different POVs so...it kinda counts, right? Also I know people have told me they liked Devotion more but I can't help but admit that Contempt itself still holds the top spot in my heart! And while I think say The Curse of Anteros is a better overall story, I don't think any fic ever will top Contempt. I mean, never say never, but Contempt is the story of dreams. It's my heart and soul. It's the Snarry I've always wanted to write. The story, the dynamic, the characterizations, everything. It's everything I've wanted in a Snarry since I first began reading Snarry 20 years ago. Like...I have no words to express just how meaningful this work is to me. This is literally the culmination of all of my Snarry feels. I dragged this story out of my gut. I pulled it out of my skin and wrote it in my blood. That's how connected I am to this work. (Wow that sounds really dramatic but also...true.)

Genuinely I was so cared people would hate it, but I wrote it anyway because I needed it and I loved it. I'm very glad to say that plenty of others love it with me! And this is another one @mrviran offered love to in the form of a podfic! (Plus cover art!) I'm fully obsessed with the podfic (AND ART!) and I get all teary eyed when I think about it, that my dear friend worked so hard to bring more life to my baby. 🥹

Kinda funny how my favorite works (and what i consider some of my best works) were all for fests. Fests really do inspire me, even if they make me want to pull my hair out. 😂

LIP×LIP FILM×LIVE Special Radio English Translation

T/N: Keep in mind that Japanese and English aren’t my first language. I never claim my translation (attempts) to be error-free. As always, if you’re going to use or reference my translations, please do not claim it as your own and credit me.

This track is an enclosed benefit in the Deluxe version of the Blu-Ray/DVD. The length is around 18min. When I first listened to it in 2021, I immediately love it! It seems serious at first but it’s quite hilarious XD I wanted to translate it back then actually, but it’s so long!! Songs are easier to tl because they’re like bite-sized. But drama tracks...I’m not good at translating by ear...lol. Though I did my best for this one, so I hope it’s close enough!! ( ´ ▽ ` )

But I really had a lot of fun translating this, haha. I was supposed to post it for LIPxLIP’s birthday this year, but well, I couldn’t fit it into my sched that time. And I’ve been busy afterwards, so I was only able to work on it again a few days ago. Anyways, YAY, FINALLY, I finished translating! I’m really proud of myself for doing so! (๑˃ᴗ˂)ﻭ

Yuujirou: He’s right. And to think that I rarely agree with Aizou.

Aizou: Don’t say rarely.

Yuujirou: But it is true. That time, I took the step forward because I also wanted to change. And now, the things I want to do keep increasing. I’m really happy with who I am presently, and I really feel that I am blessed.

Aizou: Certainly. But isn’t it difficult to continue doing your best? At times like those, it would be great if we could become an existence that can give strength to Julietta.

Yuujirou: You’re right. Aizou already said it in the interview, but when you are exhausted, please give our songs a listen.

Aizou: Hey, when I sang Kono Sekai no Tanoshimikata, I felt a sort of tightness in my chest. I have a feeling that we were singing it more to ourselves instead. So, I hope it encourages everyone who will listen to the song.

Yuujirou: I get that feeling! The song is perfect for this movie, right?

Aizou: Really, as expected of Haniwa-san.

This is kinda long, I hope this is along the lines of something you were after 🥰

Your mother owned an art gallery and would often run fundraisers to keep her name clean from the illegal activities she did while working for HYDRA.

She asked you to work a fundraiser to make her look good like always, so you did it with plenty of eye rolls, sighs and huffs.

Yelena had her eyes locked on you from the moment she walked into the room.

She was dressed as if she was a rich married woman from uptown, somebody your mother would get along great with.

She wait for the perfect moment before she came up and introduced herself to you, her hand was warm and soft. Her eyes sparkled in the room lighting, she was beautiful and you hated that she was probably just a snobby bitch like your mother.

Yelena asked to be introduced to your mother, saying she had something she wanted to discuss.

Yelena and your mother spoke for a few moments before you heard them arrange plans to have a further discussion after the fundraiser over some red wine.

After the fundraiser you could hear the chuckles from the two women coming from your mothers at home office, Yelena left after two hours max.

Yelena & your mother became close rather quickly over the course of a few short months. You didn't mind as much as you liked the blonde's company.

When your mother was working late and you had the house to yourself, sometimes Yelena would drop buy with a pizza and keep you company even though you reminded her that you're an adult and can look after yourself.

Things became off when Yelena stopped coming by to have a weekly bitch session with your mother. You noticed your mother was becoming stressed about something she didn't want to talk to you about.

You would text Yelena asking her if she knew what was up with your mother but she didn't reply, you just figured the two had a falling out and did your best to forget about the blonde.

One night while you were up late, listening to music with your earphones in, Yelena startled you. She was wearing a complete black outfit, spy wear basically. You asked her what was going on and she asked you to trust her.

She got you to safety where you met her friend, Kate.

When Yelena returned, she told you that you the truth about your mother in private. This broke your trust with her, now knowing she was undercover. It made you think she didn't actually care about you or the many times you both watched trashy movies over pizza.

Over time, you began to forgive Yelena, especially after Kate spoke to you and gave you a little insight to what HYDRA was and what they did to people.

During an argument with Yelena, she let slip that you were also supposed to die the night your mother did but she couldn't bring herself to do it because she had feelings for you.

Bc it’s the 10 year anniversary of CATWS, I just have to tell all of you what it was like for me when I watched it the first time.

Let me just say, I didn’t watch CATWS until summer 2021 and the way I watched the mcu as a whole was completely out of order. So for back story, I watched TFA when I was like 10 or something, tbh didn’t remember much of it all I knew was the important part of small guy got big by science, fell in love, got frozen in the end. And I watched Ant-Man in theatres when I was like 14 (edit: I was definitely not 14, I was 12 my bad, anyways 👀) so I knew Sam from that.

But I watched endgame when it first came out and loved it and by 2021 I’d probably watched it about 5 or 6 times. Like literally I had watched it a million damn times, and as far as it goes with Steve and Sam as I was like “cool, flying guy from ant-man is Captain America now, ig they’re friends. Good for Steve for lifting mjolnir and turning into Joe Biden.”

So back to 2021, I was trying to catch up on the mcu (thanks to wandavision and Loki) so i decided to watch CATWS. And you know, that gave the back ground info of “ohhh so Steve and Sam are besties okay.”

But that’s the least relevant part, bc let me tell y’all, I was so fucking confused and annoyed for like majority of the movie. Because despite having watched TFA, Infinity War, and Endgame, I had no fucking clue who Bucky was. Like literally out of all the times I’d watched those movies, I had no memory of being in any of them. Like I stg his presence in endgame is my personal Mandela effect bc that man WAS NOT THERE FOR ME.

So ofc, for majority of CATWS, I was so fucking annoyed bc they kept bringing up Bucky and how he was Steve’s dead best friend. And I was like “who tf is this? I don’t give a fuck about this dead bitch.” And I was pissed bc I was like “why do they keep bringing up this random ass dead guy as if we’re supposed to know who that is or care about him, like just shut up about Bucky.” I dead ass thought he was just some random ass character they suddenly made up for Steve’s backstory during this movie.

Then I was gagged. The winter soldier mask came off and I was like “ohhhhh that’s why they keep talking about him” but then also I was like:

“I clearly missed a few steps bc how did we get here?” So I had to pause the movie and google Bucky, only to discover he’s not irrelevant or someone random they just threw into the plot, and I had in fact watched several movies with him in it.

And basically that’s how we got here: me having an unhealthy obsession with and fanpage dedicated to the “irrelevant dead bitch”. So yeah, deepest apologies to Bucky.

I found this rant in my notes from, like June of 2021. I have no idea what it was in response to, but I thought y'all might appreciate it, so here goes:

So, the anti-shipping movement is closely entwined with--although not identical to--the anti-kink movement. (Both are subsidiaries of the radfem poison that's been creeping through society and fandom as of late, but that's a discussion for another time.) For the uninitiated, anti-kinksters oppose basically any "unconventional" sexual activities such as BDSM, DDLG, furry stuff, and all sorts of other shit consenting adults do in their bedrooms (or sex dungeons).

Now, these fuckers are just wild to me. I think anti-shipping is bonkers, but I at least get the idea behind it: Namely, that people can be bullied out of--publicly, at least--shipping certain things. Making ship fic/art is a relatively niche hobby, and fandoms are ephemeral. So if you can make it socially unacceptable to write about Ship A for, say, five years, you may have eliminated that ship altogether. You don't need to keep doing it forever because a fandom's popularity will eventually wane.

Kink does not work this way. Sexual fetishes have existed for all of human history. Many of them are, if not innate, formed in early childhood. You can't keep people from being kinky. Even if the human race started over tomorrow with no memory of anything that came before, people would immediately start trying to find newer and weirder ways to fuck, because that's just sort of what people do.

So... what the fuck do anti-kinksters want, exactly? You can't stop people from having these desires. Do they want people to stop acting on these desires with other consenting adults? What possible good could that do anyone? How would you decide what counts as kink? How could you ever enforce that? Sure, there's always shame, but a) there's already a good deal of shame associated with many kinks b) if there's one thing I've learned from true crime podcasts, it's that somebody who's shamed for their sexual interests is one head injury away from being a serial killer.

Do they just want kinksters to stop making porn? I reiterate: Fucking why? You're an adult, you can hit the back button if you see something you don't like. I do it every single day. It's easy, I promise.

Of course, antis of every variety like to whinge about "the children." It will traumatize the children or make them vulnerable to pedophiles or whatever (which, holy shit, way to blame the victim). To which I say: Why the fuck are your kids in any position to see porn of any kind, and how is this anybody else's problem? Complaining that your kid saw porn on the internet is like complaining that you gave your kid enough money for a ticket, dropped them off at the theater alone, and returned to find out they'd watched an R-rated movie. Like, no shit, Sherlock, what did you think was going to happen?

Nobody made you give your kid internet access. Nobody made you fail to supervise them. Nobody made you be too lazy to set up parental controls, or forget to teach them basic internet safety protocols, or avoid giving them the talk and just hope their school would take care of it. That shit's on you. Maybe, depending on the circumstances, the platform your kid was using is at fault for not having good filtering, or the content creators were at fault for failing to tag stuff properly. At no point in the equation is it the fault of some random dude who just happens to be into balloons or raw pizza dough or whatever.

So... this was a very long rant about anti-kinksters that may not even belong here. In conclusion, parent your fucking kids.

Voiceplay Visuals: Friends On The Other Side

This was one I was ridiculously eager to get to, because it is an absolute visual treat!!! Layne and the rest of PattyCake Productions really went all out with this video, and I think that it might actually be the most movie-accurate video for a Disney cover that Voiceplay has ever done (and although some things are changed, it's all so amazingly cool that you don't care in the slightest!). Also J None came back for this one to take the lead as Dr Facilier! Heck yeah! Let's get into this! (Oh and nearly forgot to mention: this was uploaded in mid-October of 2021 and was Voiceplay's Halloween upload for the year).

We got Cesar as Prince Naveen (perfect casting btw) (also he looks a bit different without more of a beard, but I don't hate it), and Eli as Lawrence, Naveen's servant (also another Eli Eyebrow Raise! And a strong one, too!)

PattyCake Productions has their own YouTube channel where they create videos based around Disney movies and Disney characters (often writing original songs for them) and it shows. They really went off with the costuming and set design (better than Disney would do with a live-action version of their own, almost definitely)

(Also peep Geoff lurking in the background, which I don't think any reactor has noticed when watching the video)

A more full-body look at J's costume (and cool staff!), plus Geoff and Layne as voodoo spirits! (Also note how Geoff is, once more, the one with the most-exposed arms/shoulders (love that for him 👌)

Geoff was asked on a Patreon Q&A or something like that if the thumb-down-the-side-of-the-head movement had any meaning to it, but no, he just thought it up himself as a little interesting/spooky/cryptic gesture (I mean... it worked??)

(Also there's so much detail to his outfit and I love it! The subtle patterning on the vest! The things that may or may not be fingerless gloves! The metal boney-finger things hanging off the shoulders! All the things around his neck! (And yes, he's still wearing the necklace he wears all the time)

And shoutout to Layne, who as you can see in the photo above this one, is wearing basically just as much stuff around his neck as Geoff, and he's got a (fake of course) bone through his nose as well? (I know the official audio is all overdubbed anyway, but I wonder how hard it is to beatbox with something like that on/in your nose?)

Now this is goddamned clever. How do you split the vocal lines of a single character up between multiple vocalists while still making it make sense in-universe? Well in this case, you have Dr Facilier work some voodoo magic so that he and/or the spirits are singing through Lawrence and Naveen, kinda sorta possessing them! The video is enhancing the song itself!!!

I actually went and watched the original Friends On The Other Side scene on YouTube (which I haven't done in ages), so I could better make comparisons, including screencap comparisons!

Man they really did nail this, huh?

Also I just realised that after "Naveen's" little "I got friends on the other side" solo, while "Facilier" is echoing it as he sits down, "Lawrence" is attempting to get "Naveen's" attention with his eyes, and making facial expressions/head movements that can basically be summed up as "Hey! We need to leave! Now!"

(Seriously it often pays to focus on different people when rewatching Voiceplay stuff (or in my case when scanning for interesting/screencap-worthy moments, to rewind specific parts to focus on different people))

Geoff was absolutely hamming it up during this section. It's kinda hilarious and I love it. Go off, my dude 😂😁

I love the expression on Geoff's face here that no reactors have seemingly picked up on, like he's both expectant and eager for "the real fun" to begin

Also check out the details in Layne's outfit! It seems that he's got the same things on his shoulders as Geoff does (except over sleeves instead)

There's a lot going on in this picture. And also this moment made more sense after I rewatched the original scene (just that Voiceplay are swapping out the amulet for a shrunken head (fair - it's probably a lot harder to find an amulet that bites 😂))

Firstly, nice bit of acting/visual storytelling from Eli and Cesar there, and secondly, hey that's the magic lamp from Aladdin in the background on the left there!

And I haven't talked about it a ton here, but J 100% understood the assignment when it came to playing Dr Facilier. He even did some of the same kinda dancing/moves as in the original scene, like the side-to-side head movement on "I hope you're satisfied" (it was so smooth!)

Man, what a video. Disney could NEVER

Voiceplay always does something mind-blowing for Halloween. It might not always be something you expect, but it's always something that gives us plenty to talk about!

Ohhh, can you elaborate on the Mutant/Yokai apocalypse au??

Okay funny thing: i wrote this au back in 2021 when Rise was just beginning to air its second season, so I had no way of knowing we were gonna get a movie, nor what its plot would be like, so imagine my surprise when I look back at this au and realize its just an alternate, (much more amateur) version of the Rottmnt movie premise. Now its not plot for plot, there’s a ton of differences OKAY LEGGO!!✨

Like the movie: the turtles are all adults and the leaders of the revolution, with the help of their friends. They are in hiding from the rest of the world because of lack of warning before the invasion/revolution and are slowly fighting back. All the turtles had roles to play: Leo was a fighter pilot/foot-soldier, operating from the air where he had a birds eye view. Rlly leaned into his cocky do-it-his-own-way attitude lol. He also adopted a small yokai girl he found one day on the battlefield.

Raph was the tank, the one always on the front lines, first one there and last one out. He got real tough over the years so he was always using himself as a shield. He also saw a lot of allies die so he became quieter and more stoic. The opposing side called him Walking Death because whenever he arrived he would lay waste to thousands of their kind, mind stuck in savage raph as a way to cope wt all the violence. Raph had a relationship with a mona lisa type character and he has a small kid named enan, who’s a mutant Gecko/turtle hybrid.

Donnie was the brains of the operation as usual, in classic neurodivergent fashion he forgets to take care of himself and holes up in his underground lab where he tries to constantly stay on top of the Yokai’s mystic magic with new inventions. A bad lab accident left his shell and backbone exposed along with destroying his left arm and scarred his side pretty bad. He now has a robot arm and is bionically attuned to his inventions. (I have a more on his inventions but i dont want to spoil it all as i might keep them for future ideas :D)

Mikey is the cook/home-base man. Making sure everything stays running and doing his best to keep the family together. He is fastly becoming more doctor Delicate Touch moreso then Soft Mikey as he used to be. He is also gets to babysit the most often cuz he’s always at home 🙄/lh

April became their resident Medical Expert and has appointed herself as Donnie’s daily nagger to get sleep and food. She also ends up being a sort of therapist for the resistance but doesnt give herself the same luxury even tho the bros offer many times. Because she stays in base most of the time her and Mikey end up shouldering the same responsibilities and they understand each other on a deeper emotional level then most of the family.

Other Characters Roles:

Shredder is back and is the leader of the yokai’s, but is distant and only using them to conquer the world and become emperor. Baron Draxum is his Star General and the one mostly in the spotlight, therefore directly influencing the yokai below them, (and any major decisions they came up with.) Big mama demanded to be called Empress and she commands most of the army

A couple more things✨

Shredder’s whole plan is to reach the core of the planet to find the source/core of all mystic energy (which was later revealed to be canon!?? in the s2 finale wt the empyrean spring beneath the hidden city.) the resistance has to find it before shredder can so they can turn the tide of the war.

My first Fancuries "For Your Consideration" post

Seasonal Sister Pretty Cure:

Themes: Sisters, fairytales, and seasons

I came up with Seasonal Sister Pretty Cure in 2021 and revamped it in 2022. It's about Aimee, who's from “Aurore and Aimee,” and her talking pink pomeranian, Acorn getting rescued by a woman named Katherine after her sister Queen Aurore of Champomme accuses her of kidnapping and killing her son. Katherine uses a magic book to take Aimee to a secluded forest where nymphs live. The fairytales were the nymphs’ history and fairytale authors based books on the history. Many Seasonal Sister teams lived in the town briefly before Aimee’s team. The team's enemies are Baba Yaga who wants to take the nymphs' magic, the knights of morning, day, and night, and the cures’ sisters. The power ups are themed after seasons and fairytale tropes. The weapons are fans.

The series movie will be about the cures and villains meeting the original versions of them that I made up in 2021 in an alternate universe.

Amelia “Aimee” Isaac/Cure Orchard:

Aimee becomes a cure in episode 1 and leads Seasonal Sister Pretty Cure. Fifteen-year-old Aimee and her twenty-five year old sister Aurore were raised by their mom, a famous actress named Fifi, in the early 1900s. Their dad went into a forest over a decade ago and died. Ten years before Aimee became a cure, Fifi got a chance to get a role that could help her be a famous actress liked she dreamed but she needed to lie that she was younger. She lied, got the role, and sent Aurore through the forest her husband died in to stay with her relatives. Aurore didn't come back and Fifi and Aimee thought she was dead. A lady named Carine took care of Aurore and taught her how to do magic. When she grew up, Aurore fell in love with the kingdom's young king. They got married and had a son, but he went missing. After they searched for him for two years, Aurore blamed Aimee.

Aimee loves shopping because she grew up in a city. She bakes often, especially desserts like caramel apples which her cure theme is. Aimee’s love interest is her sister's husband's younger brother, Florimond, who moves into the forest in episode 5. Aimee's the fall cure.

Princess Victoria “Tori” Bird/Cure Aquatic:

Tori becomes a cure in episode two and is the second in command. She's been Aimee's frenemy since 2021, but they'll also be best friends when the season ends. She's fifteen and the summer cure. Tori’s the Little Mermaid. Her grandma told her a false legend that a mermaid can get a soul by being in a relationship with a human. Liss the sea sorceress turns her into a human. Tori tries to date a prince on land named Finn, but he starts dating her slightly older sister, Lena. Katherine rescues her from needing to hurt Finn and gives her a potion to reverse Liss’s potion.

Tori loves singing and listening to 50s music because she lived in the 50s. She wants to start a band with the cures. Like Aimee, she doesn't like her fairytale. Tori’s theme is the ocean. Tori’s the summer cure.

Princess Geraldine “Deenie” Jang/Cure Meadow:

Deenie became a cure in episode 3. She's thirteen and Tatterhood. She and her twin sister Linda were born because of magic. Deenie was crazier than Linda. Her mom nicknamed her Tatterhood. On Christmas, witches attacked her palace. Linda's head got turned into a bluebell, but she joined the witches. Then, Katherine took Deenie and later on, her talking goat friend Astrid to the forest. Deenie’s from the 20s.

Deenie likes wild animals and riding horses. She practices fighting with a giant wooden spoon. Deenie’s themes are hyacinths. Deenie's the spring cure.

Gwendolyn “Gwen” Tighe/Cure Frost:

Gwen became a cure in episode 4. She's thirteen and Rose Red. Her sister Hally aka “Snow White” and she were nicknamed because of their hair colors. They grew up in a forest with their mom. They met a bear named Arthur and became best friends. Months later, Gwen and Hally tried to help Arthur and found out that an evil man cursed him. Hally became a witch and Katherine took Gwen, and after her, Arthur to the forest. Katherine wanted to help Hally and Gwen. Gwen’s from the 80s.

Gwen likes writing poetry. Tori wants her to join her band and write songs. Gwen gardens, too. Gwen's themes are frosted roses. Gwen's the winter cure.

Katherine Fernandez:

Katherine used to be a cure and takes care of Seasonal Sister Pretty Cure cures. She's from “Kate Crackernuts.”

The knights:

Quinn and Lacy are sisters and Silvia is their stepsister. They're Baba Yaga’s best trio. Quinn is the oldest and is more serious and empathetic than Silvia, who's bratty. They're from “Vasilisa the Beautiful.”

Fangirls! Pretty Cure:

Themes: Fandoms, fan work

Fangirls! is the team I want to revamp next. It's about four girls who are in a fandom that's popular. The mascot is a red poodle named Domi. The big good never is in contact with the cures, but it's implied it's the author of the books that started the fandom.

The cures:

Rosalind/Cure Fanfiction (will probably change her cure name, a pink cure)

Irene/Cure Silhouette (the blue fanart cure)

Joy/Cure Ship (a yellow cure)

Franchesca/Cure Hypothesis (the green theory cure)

The villains:

Mary Sue (the power desiring middle aged big bad)

Y/N (a girl stuck going between Y/N fanfictions and shapeshifting into the readers)

Break a Leg! Pretty Cure:

Themes: theatre, triple threats, Broadway

This is the one I'm most likely to write next. It's about high schoolers named Aviana and Carina being in the ensemble of their high school’s production of Wicked. Aviana is an actress and Carina is a singer and a popular girl. A dancer named Tegan is also in Wicked. She becomes friends with the cures. The mascot is a ferret named Thea. The transformation devices are scripts and highlighters. The power ups are Broadway pins.

Colette's the second in command and has a brown theme color and chocolate milk theme. She's Whitney's age.

Abigail Cabrera/Cure Peel:

Abigail's a late joiner. She has a yellow theme color and a banana milk theme. She's in late elementary school.

Blair Bayerstowe/Cure Straw:

Blair's the other late joiner and has a pink theme color and strawberry milk theme. She's in early elementary school.
