Ino propaganda: she's probably one of the most underrated characters in the series. Her work for the sensory unit is critical to the villiage's security. She's low key one of the most important people in Konoha. She carried the sensory division during the war arc even after her dad was killed. The narrative only really focused on Shikamaru, but Ino also lost her sensei and father within a few months and still had the strength to keep fighting. She saved the shinobi alliance by using her mind tranfer jutsu to take over obito and redirect the tailed beast bomb. She rebuilt the sensory unit, worked for the interigation unit, helped Sakura build a clinic to help children who were tramautized by the war, became the head of her clan and through all of this still manages to find time to run her own small buissness. Like she is the epitomy of girlboss. Not to mention she and Sakura are in gay love.

My Naruto self inserts:
Im probably missing some info because I made these a bit ago and I did this off the top of my head. But here’s all 7 of them :).
Arya (they/them) (dating Kakashi)
- Arya has an extremely powerful kekkei genkai of a combination of fire and lightning chakra, called the wildstorm.
- instead of having to combine the chakra which is difficult for most shinobi. Arya’s chakra is already combined. So their difficulty comes from separating the chakra to actually be able to do normal things with their chakra.
- The wildstorm is incredibly powerful and dangerous. Wiping out everything in a two kilometer radius if they accidentally let it go. It takes a lot of training to be able to control their chakra so it doesn’t get out of control.
- They accidentally killed their parents and entire clan with their kekkei genkai. They came to konoha a couple years before canon where they got lessons in chakra control before being able to start genin training.
Lily (they/them) (Dating Maito Gai)
- Childhood friends with Gai, gai was hopelessly in love with them after they beat him up during their chunin exam.
- Unfortunately, after this same chunin exam, Jiraiya took an interest in them, and took them on as his apprentice. (Way Before Naruto)
- They found a summoning scroll for frogs, and thus Lily started to develop their own jutsu, not toad related jutsu, but frog related jutsu. Like them being able to jump higher than any shinobi. They also have a frog sage mode. And have a jutsu which makes them able to breathe underwater. I have a list of all their jutsu SOMEWHERE.
- When they get back to konoha YEARS later, Gai immediately falls head over heels with Lily again. And this time Lily immediately fell head over heels back.
Koi (they/them) (Dating Kakuzu and Hidan)
- The three tails jinchuriki.
- The three tails (Isobu) isn’t all that happy with being sealed away, but he likes Koi. So he lets it slide. He doesn’t help him out often. Only if a situation brings both of them in danger is when he lends Koi some chakra.
- Koi doesn’t know any shinobi techniques, the land of waterfalls only sealed the three tails away inside of him and then started shunning him. Koi decided to run away from the village and lived peacefully on his own for a couple of years.
- The akatsuki started chasing him for the three tails, and the two members that were tasked with capturing him were Kakuzu and Hidan. Hidan caught feelings pretty quickly. Kakuzu took some more convincing. :). But they all run away from the akatsuki together.
- After the fight avenging Asuma, koi kills for the very first time to be able to give Kakuzu a new heart. After that, they dig up Hidan together.
Anthos Charti (He/him) (Married to Shikamaru)
- Rivals to lovers with Shikamaru. They HATED each other up until the fourth ninja war. Both their clans are friendly rivals because they are the smartest clans of konoha. But Shikamaru and Anthos just hated each other.
- Anthos’ clan specializes in scrolls that make you do what it says. For example, an enemy reading a ‘drop your weapon’ scroll makes them drop their weapon. There’s a LOT of different scroll patterns for the clan to learn.
- Anthos is incredibly smart, and he knows it. He became a chunin at the same time as Shikamaru (which only served to make them hate each other even more)
- Eventually, after the fourth war, they set aside their differences and they started dating. During Boruto, they’re married and both Shikadai’s fathers. Shikadai learns the shadow paralysis jutsu and the scroll jutsu.
- During Boruto he’s the head of the Hokage’s intellect and information division.
Cecil (he/him) (married to kankuro)
- used to be a jonin, with a bloodline power of his chakra being concentrated to his senses, which made him be able to hear, feel, see, smell, and taste everything WAY more intensely than others.
- Met Kankuro during the war, because he was part of the special forces as a sensory ninja. Which Kankuro was the leader of.
- After the war they started dating, and they got engaged somewhere along the way.
- During a mission, Cecil got ambushed and extremely hurt. He almost died. Kankuro was right there for angst purposes.
- Back at the sand hospital they needed to seal off Cecil’s chakra to stop what was still spreading through them. Forcing him to retire from shinobi duties.
- Next to having to retire because using any sort of extra chakra could kill him, he also can’t use the extreme senses bloodline power anymore, so suddenly things also seem way more dull to him.
- Now he’s just a househusband to Kankuro, they’ve gotten married somewhere along the years. And Cecil has made peace with what happened to him.
Poppy (they/them) (dating Shino and Kiba)
- For a while, Orochimaru was interested in dojutsu, and genjutsu. And started experimenting on a new form of dojutsu that could naturally produce a great level of genjutsu.
- The end result was Poppy, with a new pink dojutsu. But a genjutsu that is extremely hard to control.
- Poppy accidentally traps others close to them and themself into an extremely powerful and realistic genjutsu occasionally.
- They were locked away by orochimaru until sasuke came to free them. Along with Karin, Suigetsu and Jugo. They became part of team taka.
- After the war, they searched asylum in konoha because they technically had done nothing wrong yet. And got it. They started living with Kurenai, who is really good with genjutsu, and that’s also how they met Shino and Kiba.
Alexandrae (he/him) (dating konohamaru)
- Alexandrae is the son of the feudal lord of the land of butterflies. and thus prince of the small country.
- A month before the summer butterfly festival of the land, his dad got a message that Alexandrae would get assassinated during the festival. Leading him to, in desperation to keep his son safe. Hire shinobi from the nearest leaf village to guard his son.
- Newly appointed jonins Konohamaru, Moegi and Udon show up. Moegi and Udon take one look at how Konohamaru looks at Alexandrae and immediately volunteer to just do research on who sent the threat. While Konohamaru can guard the fuedal prince himself.
- Konohamaru and Alexandrae bond and fall in love over the next month, and when Moegi and Udon apprehend the suspects, Alexandrae is quick to invite the three of them to stay for the festival.
- During the festival, it comes out that the threat isn’t gone yet. And that the last remaining member of the ex shinobi group is still out for revenge, and he kidnaps Alexandrae right from under Konohamaru’s nose. Cue the chase scene and saving him from the kidnapper :). They kiss during the rest of the festival.
- Unfortunately after this, Konohamaru, Moegi and Udon have to leave back for konoha. Because their mission is finished. Konohamaru promises Alexandrae that he’ll be back sooner or later.
- Naruto (hokage) often sends him on missions close to the land of butterflies when it’s possible, so Konohamaru can stop by.
- Alexandrae has one of Konohamaru’s scarves to remember him by.

🐗 The Yamanaka clan is one of the oldest clans, being among the very first clans to reside in the newly-founded Konohagakure village along with Uchiha, Senju and Hyūga. This is proved because despite being ninjas, members of the Yamanaka clan are also skilled Botanists who runs a flower Shop in the village, which existed since Hashirama's era.
🐗 Though not battle-type by nature, Members of the Yamanaka clan are Sensors & Telepaths with mind altering/reading/controlling abilities, making them experts at Information gathering, Tracking, Interrogation, Communication, Spying etc. Yamanaka clan techniques were one of the most widely used techniques in the Fourth Shinobi World War, especially the Mind Transfer Technique which was used to overtake Obito's control over Ten-tails twice and Mind Transmission Technique which was the only source of communication within the Alliance.
🐗 Yamanaka clan is a part of the Legendary Ino-Shika-Cho trio, the second strongest trio, along with Nara & Akimichi Clan. The 3 clans uses combination attacks in formations in such a way each member's abilities complements the others' in the best way possible with high accuracy in battles.
🐗 Members of the Yamanaka clan lead the Analysis Team of Intelligence Division and the Sensory Division of Konohagakure. With Sai now being a part of the Yamanaka clan, Konoha ANBU is also currently lead by a Yamanaka, hence the clan having a very high authority in the village.
🐗 Members of the Yamanaka clan often wear their hair in ponytails which appears to be traditional in order to be easily recognizable within the community, and earrings in order to demonstrate their representation in the Ino-Shika-Cho trio.
🐗 Yamanaka Clan was acknowledged by Tobi/Obito Uchiha in his fight against Fū Yamanaka, Members of the Kara Organization, Danzō as he chose a Yamanaka from the Root to be his bodyguard, and the God of the Shinobis Hashirama seeked aid specifically from a Yamanaka clan member in the Fourth Shinobi War.
🐗 After Inoichi Yamanaka's heroic death, Ino became his successor and took over the lead of the Yamanaka Clan in the Fourth Shinobi War. Currently in the peace era, she carries all her father's duties- continues to lead the Clan, serves as a medium of the communications across the Five Great Shinobi Nations, leads the Sensory Division and the Analysis Team of the village while also running the clan's flower shop and raising a new heir of the clan.
🐗 After Ino's marriage to Sai, Sai took over the Yamanaka surname, officially becoming a part of the Clan. Hence the Yamanaka blood now has the potential to perform Sai's exclusive Super Beast Scroll Technnique. Ino & Sai gave birth to Inojin Yamanaka, a promising heir to the Clan - who is also able to combine the sensory powers he inherited from Ino and the Super Beast Scroll he inherited from his father Sai.
Trivia: The name "Yamanaka" means "in the middle of mountains" or "in the mountain range", and Yamanaka Clan's customary prefix "Ino" is the short form for "Inoshishi" which means "Boar". It is known that wild boars are heavily associated in the mountain ranges of Japan.
The Yamanaka Crest is a Bush Clover flower which represents "A positive love who treasures bonds". Inoichi Yamanaka, the late head of the clan raised his daughter Ino Yamanaka to embody this title, and believed that she had bloomed into a beautiful Bush Clover before his death.

About the Kara (not the canon clan):
A shinobi from Konoha, hailing from the Kara clan - A sensor clan of druids who migrated to the land long before the Senjus took to living in the village with the others; they swore their loyalty to the first Hokage without hesitation.
The clan head was Haruto Kara, until he mysteriously went missing ‘on a mission’ and the case went cold after Sakumo Hatake (the person insisting that foul play was involved and took on the case himself) passed away unexpectedly - It was later revealed in an attack on the heir, Mizuki, that the perpetrator for the possible death of the clan head was none other than Daku Kara, the head’s own brother.
The clan is now run by his daughter Mizuki Kara, 26, with the help of her mother Clodagh Kara and her clan elder, Lady Kina (a seer)
Mizuki has two younger sisters:
Tala Kara, 22: A Jonin who specializes in interrogation and works with Ino Yamanaka and Ibiki Morino in the Intelligence Division
~ Physical attributes: Ice blue eyes with large black pupils to match her dire, a hulking wolf that resembles the famous husky breed ~
Akira Sibyl Kara, 16 | Inherited the seer ability from Lady Kina: A Chunnin who leads the clan’s entire wolf pack and is responsible for patrolling the border-lands of Konoha as well as looking after the Kara forest
~ Physical attributes: Pale white eyes clouded because of her seer abilities, they resemble the eyes of the Hyuga clan of Konoha. Her dire is a greyish white wolf that looks a lot like a ghostly specter in the forest and is seen by very few people in the village ~
About Mizuki
A wolf nin like her kin, she’s the leader and the strongest sensor of clan Kara. Her sensory range spans to 15-16 km with the subtle use of her wind release and her kekkei genkai, storm release, helps her gauge the terrain even better.
Due to her druid blood being the strongest, she has an innate ability to heal quickly, the time depending on how bad the injury is as well as move objects through magic.
~ Physical attributes: Bright gold eyes with large black pupils. Her dire is a large black wolf called Amaya with the same golden eyes ~
OTP for Mizuki: KIBAMIZU
Mizuki is married to Kiba Inuzuka and has a 1 year old son with him, Hiiro Inuzuka.
*The Kara’s all shares the physical attributes of canines: long fangs and slightly pointed ears; they tend to keep their claws in-check outside of missions - Have the ability to telepathically communicate with their wolves*
This all being said, considering Mizuki is an OC, Mun has no issues with rping her as a romantic interest for another character. Both OCs and Canon characters are welcome

NIN - PIGS
PART 1 OF 2. just some rambling / headcanons about nin-pigs
HISTORY
The earliest record of nin - pigs was by the Senju clan during the ending years of the warring states period. There are several records within the Senju library briefly mentioning them and their involvement during several conflicts. It was said that they had been residing in the forests within Senju territory having been forced to move around constantly due to the fighting. Through a few weeks of talks between both parties, several nin - pigs elders and Senju members reached a partnership.
In the years since nin - pigs have lived throughout the forests within the land of fire near the border of the land of waterfalls. Their settlements tend to be low to the ground and branded outwards. Their homes are made from wood and close together with connecting wooden walkways and bridges. Originally, they had lived in larger groups but faced with the fighting during the first war they found benefit in smaller settlements. They’ve kept this division for over the years, staying in smaller groups while governing themselves at the direction of the council of elders that come together. Elders from each village would gather to discuss and govern every couple months in a selected village. Their villages now consist of small groupings of 100 to 150 individuals within the mass forests.
Nin - pigs don't have a dedicated clan/group or village they affiliate with but since their original allying with the Senju clan they’ve stuck close to them and have ended up over the years having a majority of summoners be Senju or come from those around them especially after the hidden leaf was built up. Having a nin - pig as a summon is not common but it is not a rare thing to see. Though there have only been a handful of shinobi who have managed to become nin - pig summoners, nin - pigs are fairly active outside their own villages. Nin - pigs travel a lot between their villages and as a result they tend to interact with people in passing villages. They also continue a good relationship with the Konoha so it’s not uncommon to see a group or odd nin - pig travelling around Konoha.
SOME NIN - PIGS’ TRAITS.
Nin - pigs are incredibly strong and due to their strength a large amount of charka and control is needed to summon them. This makes it hard for many shinobi to summon them or even meet nin - pig standards to forming a partnership. Nin - pigs do not speak human like some summons / nin - animals do in the series. No matter their age or skill level nin - pigs communicate through a series of oinks/grunts, different tones and patterns and other non-verbal cues. They are also extremely team oriented. Like the ninkens of the Inzuka clan nin - pigs tend to be a full-time present partner to their shinobi partners. It creates an easy environment for bonding and familiarizing with styles.

some very CANON and very IMPORTANT things ino has done in the series that everyone should know because sometimes i think people don’t give her the respect she deserves and that is not okay!!
—— mastering medical ninjutsu / becoming a medic nin during the time skip ; being skilled enough to heal fatal wounds , perform surgeries , diagnose patients quickly , and making anesthetic drugs / poisons.
—— risking her life ( with her team ) to get revenge for asuma’s death ; using a hawk to spy on and locate the akatsuki before getting to konoha ; fulfilling her role as a spy , healer , and sensor during the fight ; healing naruto after first using his rasen shuriken and keeping him alive until they reached konoha.
—— literally figured out pein’s mechanisms and how the sixth paths were being controlled by relating it to her mind transfer technique , and how his real body must be somewhere else but close enough to not break his links to the mechanisms.
—— defeated and shut down the reincarnated nine-tails chakra , kinkaku , who had killed the second hokage and helped to seal him.
—— a member of the second strongest trio in the world and a compulsory part to their every formation and fought against powerful opponents multiple times during the war and their fight against edo-asuma which still hurts my fucking soul to this DAY GOD

—— followed shikamaru’s plan , learning the handsigns for an earth style mud wall technique from kitsuchi , transmitted those handsigns to the entire alliance and summoning hundreds of walls to reduce the bombs speed by 1/3 so minato could arrive in time to teleport the attack and AGAIN saving the alliance.
—— assisting hashirama in connecting him to the approaching 5 kages , which itself is not an easy task , but could achieve it within mere seconds.

[ Ryū - Lies ]
When it comes to little white lies, Ryū really isn’t too convincing. She tends to feel guilty rather easily. But if it’s something big or important, she can buckle down and put on a much better act.
In tandem, her sensory abilities also mean having a fairly good sense of when someone else is being untruthful. Little fluctuations in energy can be rather telling if someone else is lying to her. Usually she won’t call them out on it, but rather keep an eye out for the consequences and be prepared for them.
[ Sasuke - Love ]
Love, for my Sasuke, is…a complicated thing. Familial love is that most familiar to him. Be it for his clan, brother, cousin, sister figure, or his nieces and nephew, Sasuke has no problem both recognizing and acting on a platonic affection between family. He might even take it a little too far at times due to his paranoia of losing what’s left.
Platonic love with friends is a lot more…foreign. Learning to trust those outside of those he knew and loved in his clan before the massacre is hard. He doesn’t want to lose anyone else, doesn’t want to be distracted by anyone else. It takes him a good long while to recognize a friend. Even in someone like Naruto.
Romantic is even more convoluted. Partly due to the same issues as with friends, but also because Sasuke doesn’t fully trust himself not to hurt someone he cares about. Part of him knows he’s still capable of terrible things - it’s just a matter of acting on them. He lived a certain way for a long time. Changing that mindset isn’t easy, and he closes himself off to romance by default. It takes a lot of work to first befriend him, and then a whole other level to let himself feel romantically toward anyone.
[ Shisui - Morality ]
…Shisui has a fairly decent set of morals. While he IS a well-trained shinobi, and realizes that sometimes you have to make difficult decisions, he still knows he has the power to make the best of any situation, and do as much good as he can.
That being said, mine makes a rather…unfair decision for all those he cares for in ALAS, which leads to a pretty big rift upon his return. He knows that he has to adjust his thinking, and has a debt to repay to his cousins and family for what his absence cost him…but he was trying to do right in the big picture.
[ Mikoto II - Promise ]
Hoo boy. First thing to come to mind with this word is uh…interesting. So these two (that being Mikoto and her twin Fugaku, named after their paternal grandparents) had a very…rough childhood. While they got on great as tiny beans, things started getting awkward as they both grew and their kekkei genkai became apparent. While Fu got the Sharingan, Mikoto got Iyashino Shiroi Te (aka Ryū’s healing kekkei genkai). Which…obviously doesn’t line up well with their personalities, nor their goals. While Fu is meek, Mikoto is…aggressive. And finding out she had the “weaker” of their families’ bloodline limits only made that worse.
She took to bullying her brother, always complaining about getting the short end, while the Sharingan was “wasted” on him and his softer nature. This reached its peak during their chūnin exams alongside their teammate Mirai. The last exam culminated in them being pitted against one another, and…well, Mikoto finally had it, and told her brother she hated him. Too determined to succeed at any cost, she aimed to kill him if she had to to become chūnin and keep advancing toward ANBU like her father. This led to Fu awakening the Mangekyō (due to ‘losing’ his bond with his twin of all people), and the pair of them getting the snot beat out of each other.
BUT, at the last minute, Mikoto had a change of heart, and rather than strike a fatal blow, cushioned his fall and took a great deal of damage herself. From there, their bond verrry slowly started to get better…but at a lot of personal cost to Mikoto. After her foul treatment of him, she instead promised to look out for him, no matter what it cost her in order to make it up to him.
It wasn’t smooth sailing from there, including her developing an underage drinking problem, and eventually going with her sister back to Ryū’s home village to get sorted out, while Fu spent a period of time with Itachi. And while the twins are great friends at the end of the “story”, it takes a lot of time and effort to repair everything that was wrong between them. She still takes that promise seriously, and gives Hell to anyone who messes with her younger twin. Especially with another muse, Hotaka (who belongs to @ascxndinggg) when his shenanigans start bringing her brother trouble. But that’s a whole other huge drama fest =‘D
[ Ayame - Humanity ]
Well this ought to be good. Ayame has a very warped sense of humanity. She, like her master Danzō, sees shinobi primarily as tools. After his death at Sasuke’s hand (which was actually suicide, but she still lays the blame on him), Root disbanded…but not all of them were eager to assimilate back into Konoha. Some, under Ayame, fled into the shadows…and only emerged after Sasuke and Itachi were both pardoned in ALAS.
Vowing to both avenge Danzō and finish his work on eliminating the Uchiha for good, Ayame banded her followers together and began targeting the remnants of the clan. Under her, the emotionless ‘tools’ were re-branded with seals, and made to carry out her quest for vengeance.
Ayame was abandoned to Root as an infant, having been sensed to lack the ability to mold chakra despite being from a small clan. She grew up completely (to the point of obsession) loyal to Danzō and his ideals, having ‘saved’ her. That also meant gladly ridding herself of her humanity as best to serve him, taking the mantle as head of his torture division. There she revels in her work, extremely sadistic and competent in getting what she wants from her victims.
While Root officers are meant to be completely without emotion, she still clings to a few twisted ones: she actively enjoys torture, and views just about everyone else as beneath her.
