The thing about claims of Orym having a "going dark" storyline is that people are equating "in a dark place emotionally" with "going dark," despite none of his actual behavior changing

For a while now I’ve been trying to get my thoughts on the first four episodes of this season sorted out. I did actually enjoy the arc as a whole. I enjoyed getting to learn more about Carlos’s backstory and I actually enjoyed getting to know Iris better. I think so many of us assumed that Carlos had such a lonely childhood and so it’s nice to know that he had at least one person in his life that he was close to and be himself around.
Tumblr media
I think for me the reason why I felt so stressed about it all was actually more down to the fandom reaction to the storyline. I’m not trying to blame anyone here or insult the fandom at all. I actually understand why a lot of people reacted the way they did. But there were things that stressed me out. I didn’t like how so many people just seemed so resistant to the concept of Carlos even having flaws. Carlos has always had flaws, it’s just that for some reason some people always ignored them in favor of lashing out at TK. And I think that right there is why a lot of people who care about TK felt frustrated. Since s1, TK’s worthiness has constantly been questioned and every mistake he has made has been held against him. In s3, ppl kept saying that Carlos should never have taken TK back at all and made him work for it. Mind you, these people completely overlooked the fact that Carlos had bought a house without even discussing it with TK. The thing is, the narrative and Carlos himself seemed to ignore that too. Even Rafa boiled the breakup down to “TK fucking up.” But with this, it feels like the writers didn’t even want to acknowledge that Carlos had even made a mistake. There is never a moment where it’s pointed out to Carlos that he was married for the entirety of his relationship to TK and didn’t tell him. Instead, it’s brushed of bc it wasn’t a real marriage. I think this frustrated a lot of people bc it felt like even when Carlos is unequivocally the one who made a mistake, it’s going ignored. I actually did defend Carlos as much as I possibly could during that arc bc I do understand why he married Iris in the first place and it does fit his character that he didn’t tell TK. I just wish that had been pointed out as wrong the way TK breaking up with Carlos instead of talking to him about the house was. Carlos got to vent his feelings back then yet TK never said a word about how he felt about Carlos keeping that secret and then he constantly blamed himself for Iris going missing and nobody stepped in to tell him it wasn’t his fault.
Tumblr media
On the other hand, I didn’t like how people who were understanding of both sides were treated either. I know for a fact that there were people writing entire coda fics that validated TK’s feelings and yet they were being sent messages accusing them of not liking TK. I most certainly did not like how the writers and especially the actors were being left nasty comments to the point where an Instagram post had to be taken down. As much as I loved Ronen, Rafa and Lysney showing each other solidarity, it should never have come to that in the first place. I don’t know what type of comments they were or who they were coming from. I do know that there were people who were just mad that a woman had been brought into the dynamic at all. I know that there were people who just couldn’t stand the idea of Carlos having flaws. I know there were people who, after the first ep, were sending anyone who vented their feelings on their own blog lists of every mistake (both real and imagined) mistake that TK has ever made. I know there were people who went out of their way to blame TK anyway and people who tried to pin the blame on Iris even though she was literally in a state of psychosis for years and was living on the streets. At any rate, whoever it was that left comments on Rafa’s post or sent hate to any of the actors should be ashamed.
Ronen himself touched on this in a post ep 4 interview but it really does seem that ppl forget that TK deals with mental health issues as well and none of this situation was at all easy on him. There’s a reason why Iris likened herself to TK. From the vibe I got, the ppl that were actually hating on Iris for the stuff she said during the dinner didn’t even seem that concerned about TK himself. They just wanted an excuse to hate on Iris. I’ve said before that there is ableism in this fandom that has come into play with how TK is talked about and it definitely feels like it came into play with how Iris was talked about. I know it frustrated a lot of ppl seeing TK’s struggles in this arc being ignored by everyone and even Carlos seemingly blaming him for Iris going missing. Now, I do understand why Carlos reacted the way he did. He was deeply worried, probably blaming himself since this is something he and TK have in common and Iris’s life was in danger. And Carlos has always had a tendency to compartmentalize to the point that it becomes toxic. So I do understand his reaction but I can’t say that I didn’t find it upsetting. I also feel like it led a lot of ppl to be louder about how bad they felt for TK bc they felt that nobody else was going to do it. There were also ppl outright blaming TK and the fact that Ronen made it a point to defend why TK went to Iris shows that the actors do in fact see the stuff fans say. I just hope that after this ppl can recognize that it is possible to understand and sympathize with two characters at the same time and to do so doesn’t mean that you dislike one or the other. I actually do understand (even if I don't necessarily agree with it) the hypersensitivity that some ppl had over TK during this arc bc there’s no denying that there are ppl out there that look for excuses to hate on TK and downplay his feelings. Apparently enough for Ronen to notice. In my experience, ppl who love TK generally love Carlos as well but the same can not always be said the other way around. However, as I already said, this is no reason to go after the ppl who do love both and are just trying to be understanding of both sides. At the end of the day, as far as I can see the majority does love both and that should be what matters. I think there is also the matter of how the anger ppl felt at Carlos was ultimately temporary. Ppl were angry after 401 but they calmed down after 402 when we saw Tarlos being a united team and expressing love for each other. And of course there was the exquisite couch scene. The anger started up again with ep 2 and Carlos’s behavior. The anger at Carlos always felt like a knee-jerk response that I didn’t like but at least it was temporary in the end. For TK on the other hand, ppl have been looking for excuses to hate on him since s1. Going as far as him bringing Lou the lizard home as proof of how he’s not good enough for Carlos.
Tumblr media
All of this is something that has really been bothering me especially since there’s people who seem mad that Carlos wasn’t in ep 5 and I truly don’t understand why. I understand wanting more screen time, I always want both guys to have more screen time but I enjoyed the focus on Marjan and I want more for her. Plus we had 4 episodes straight focusing on Carlos where we learned so much about him and a lot of fans even got there wish about seeing him be the one in danger and TK rescue him. That’s actually another thing btw, while I liked ep 4 itself, I didn’t like how ppl were rejoicing at Carlos being hurt bc it would make “TK be the one to worry and show his love in a more obvious way.” Anyway, I don’t understand why some ppl were so mad at Carlos not getting screen time in this ep. I also understand wanting to see acknowledgment of what happened but I feel like it’s ok bc there’s so many brilliant coda fics for that. We didn’t really get any aftermath in the Push arc either but I don’t remember ppl complaining about that. TK was barely in any of the episodes after Push until the end of 307 and he was barely in this ep either. There are about 10 regulars on the show and this is the first time Marjan has had a big storyline so why is it such a bad thing that the focus was temporarily moved a bit? I genuinely don’t understand.
Anyway, as I said before, I’m not trying to blame anyone or start anything. I just truly needed to get this off my chest so that I can sleep at night. As I said, I did enjoy the storyline overall. More than anything else, I’m just happy to move on from the angst and into the happy wedding-planning era. Personally, I don’t want anymore relationship-related drama. I know Rafa said that what happened in 404 would impact how Carlos dealt with things later on and I hope that means we see growth. I hope that means Carlos realizing that he has things he needs to work on the way TK did after Push. That’s all I want next for Tarlos and for Carlos

Allo! I would like to say that your work is absolutely phenomenal, the creativity and storyline is so addicting. Really my #1 favorite yandere Heeseung fics I’ve read on the entire web I truly mean it.
I’m kinda assuming route 1 is not going to have a happy ending for (Name) at least. But I was more curious about Heeseung’s route 1 character as a yandere. Only because I’ve become so fascinated by the storyline. I had three questions if you have any time to answer just to satisfy my curiosity bc I truly am about to read the whole series again as I wait for the final chapter. I’m sorry if this is so long I just had to write after becoming such a huge fan of the works.
Hee He seems like he’s naturally a shitty person ( like being rude to other ppl, making the tape, and ofc being tormenting to (name)) but even though he was acting trying to get close to (name) while dating her sister, was there any point in time where the gentleness and kindness to (name) was sincere?
did he always wanted to ruin (name) in his sick loving twisted way or was he only triggered to do what he did (like the game and killing EJ even tho she still had time) when he found out about her proposed betrayal or was he planning on doing that regardless that she was dating him before the concert?
hs seems like the very twisted type of yandere, (trying not to inquire too much bc I know we have the final chapter still in works so I don’t want to spoil) but I know hr loves her in his own way but he seems to find a lot of pleasure when she’s in emotional pain and suffering, would he never care to try to go out of his way to make her smile or actually be happy?
Wow .. just wow omg. Thank you sm for this, I couldn't thank u enough but rlly this paragraph truly makes me happy haha <3 please never apologise for writing lengthy paragraphs like this cuz they truly r precious and I would love to receive them anytime. And I would answer your questions below:
1) HS actually became a shitty human being or turn into a monster when he founds out the truth about MC, and thus it leads to him doing all those stuffs as sort of revenge. It was never natural, it just turn him into one. He's rlly a twisted and sadistic type of yandere, so while he does it most of the time. Yes, he would do everything to make MC happy only if she submit to him and be obedient to him. He showed love in a way that's both twisted yet so caring. Yes, there was those times that he was rlly sincere to her.
2) and the next one, he had always wanted to ruin MC yk, but HS is not the type to go far when it's not necessary or needed in his plans. So when MC pretended of getting fooled by him, it was at that point that he would actually stop. Like that's the end, period. He got her, he ruin her family, and her friendship with EJ, that's it. For him, it's happily ever after!
3) So when he got fooled once again, well yea you know. So in conclusion, he's evil asf if you give him shit or try to ruin his plans. But most of the time he's sincere and kind, only to MC tho. He would anything he could to make her happy, and I actually wrote that in the final EP of ROUTE 1. It just so happens that he's consumed by a little insanity so his way of showing love morphs into frightening one. So yea that's it!
But anon, apparently there's one thing you've gotten wrong along these paragraph and it's a huge spoiler lol. I wouldn't say which one, but I think you could see which one? Anyways, thank you for asking me this, it truly made my day 💗

i wanna say i hate to compare BG3 and DAI buuuuut you know they have similar intentions not including the combat system. theyre both high fantasy RPGs that focus on major story choices/consequences and making a protag that you can shape based on personality options, along with class/race specific effects on the way characters mold with you.
so. i think they can be compared, without any note of the technical advancements from since DAI came out of course.
and i say this just based on my current progress (i guess the first 'part'? i just got to the end of the druid grove stuff). i think the bg3 protag is fine! no issue there really, its different but i like what i can do. but i can feel the issues with romance in this game creeping up, as i had heard some things started before by others... that theres a very quick focus to romance. and honestly.... is it romance even at this starting point? immediately i am just asked about who i want to fuck. i like to fuck, i like the sexual relationships. but i can see where ppl may have their issues here.
on this first celebration with the party members, the woman who i helped do the raid with, who i literally dont know, before i even got to the party was like- i am talking to you in your mind and i want to fuck you in thanks for this. and she is the one character you can just fuck without any relation with. and then i talk to Astarion who is like, who do you want to fuck tonight lol? and even if i hadnt talked w him, every other character there except Gale had the option to suggest i wanted to fuck them. bro i hardly even know these guys still. i want to fuck astarion eventually and im glad he turned me down bc honestly why would he accept?. but shadowheart and laezel were totally up for it!!! and man i hard travelled with laezel bc i dont like her lol.
and listen i am sure i will get to learn way more abt these characters that i romance but the fact i am opened up to the sex option immediately is just. so strange when i compare it to the romances of DAI. i think i could take a few characters who just want sex. thats normal. not everyone wants commitment and i would actually like that nuance. but also, really putting the sex on so quick and so blatantly is a surprise to me even as someone who wants to have sex stuff all the time!! but i like good writing too! and i imagine its even more uncomfy for others who really didnt expect or want that. to just assume you character wants to have sex so fast is weird and the only other option denying everything (no implication you want just romance/are interest but dont want sex) is just wild to me too.
DAI has such well written romances. really. i saw ppl saying they were excited this game would blow bioware's romance writing out of the water but i dont think i can say that at all rn and im not sure this current impression will change enough for me to say otherwise entirely....
this also goes into why "everyone is bi" isnt always good. because i think it takes a lot of potentially personal weight out of the writing. not even in that if one character is gay then there will be oppression angst between them and you for being gay. or that the straight one will voice their straightness in context of gays existing in world. its about how "everyone is bi" isnt actually good, chosen bi rep. its just a game mechanic thrown in to satisfy all ends. we can have bi characters, we just cant have them all being labelled that in order to fill that check mark.
dorian is a really good example in DAI of how a character being strictly gay and also facing in world oppression makes his romance storyline SO good. its so important for sexuality labels to exist bc it makes you an individual of your own. and for it to be EXPRESSED in some form too. a character should be able to voice their thoughst on their unique sexuality when you romance them. but the 'everyone is bi just because' means like no character is every talking about that, let alone in a meaningful way when the reason applies to every other companion.
sorry did not mean for this to become a rant on romances. im still looking forward to the writing that will unfold with these characters but i think its so important to not get lost in the hype (and the hate to DAI? which i think is just hate to bioware really) bc people ALWAYS get to ahead of themself when they hear "you can romance anyone regardless of gender" without thinking twice about whether or not that makes it good writing or rep

Okay so basically I love Cyrus as a character and love trying to understand what kind of person he could be... we know him to be the unemotional guy who wants a 'perfect' world void of emotions. If we take him as just that, and assume he's unsavable/not capable of changing, then that's just what he is. In relationship terms that means he is probably neutral and doesn't care for or dislike anyone (no emotion), and linking onto that is the idea he's probably asexual and has no interest in sex, and likely wouldn't know how to do it either. (Though with how analytical he is, he's probably got a bunch of knowledge of how it works in practice, but probably sees no point in it and wouldn't actually be able to do it well). But that's boring one dimensional thinking imo, and there's more to Cyrus than that I think... (1/2)
The flip side is if you're someone who believes he's capable of changing and experiencing emotions in the right circumstances, he could be different. I read a Cyrus x reader fic forever ago (I might be able to find the link if you'd be interested in that kind of thing). The majority of it is a sappy romance story, with a small smut segment at the end... but the story fit really well with how I'd imagine him. He links with an old friend who shows him kindness unconditionally, and despite wanting to follow through with his plans, he starts to break and have actual feelings. I LOVE the idea of him changing and experiencing positive emotions through the power of love and kindness from others in general! And I feel like that's a possible thing for his character, since we know he's canonly had friends in the past... (one more ask sorry)
(3/3) anyways the fic explored his conflict of his original plan, and that faltering when he started actually caring about someone and better understanding the goodness of the world. The end of the fic was a sex piece in which basically he's never done it before, was worried he was going to be too stoic or do things wrong, but was willing to figure out how it worked. And then similar to one of the other asks you got, it was kinda one of those "stoic character loses control in a sexual craze" kind of way (consentually!), so like a "uncertain, maybe doesn't get it right on the first try, but very easy to teach how to do the exact correct thing, and then he can FUCK" was how that went, and ultimately I think that suits him best lol
(putting everything in one ask so it's easier to read/answer!!)
tbh for me cyrus not experiencing emotions/having a hard time experiencing emotions is like. dear to me i guess as someone who has a lot of emotional struggles (which i'm sure ppl who know me would be surprised by bc i actually experience Too Many Emotions usually but i feel like there is something about too many emotions sometimes that just flips back to no emotions) i was really happy watching the pokémon generations episode where he gets to the distortion world and stays there and is happy to be in an emotionless place bc i feel like a lot of storyline for characters who are like that are about "fixing" them bc not experiencing emotions (or not experiencing emotions "the right way") is seen as "inhuman" or whatever. which is silly to me but okay.
ANYWAY all of that to say that i guess i'm just not rly interested in cyrus "learning" to feel emotions (and i don't think it's necessarily one-dimensional to see that as his main traits altho i see what you mean by that also as someone who is used to seeing very surface-level takes on lysandre LOL) BUT!!! i don't think it's a bad way to want to see him explored or anything and i totally get your pov. i like the smut scene you describe as well i think it sounds rly sweet honestly

hi hamliet!! i have a bsd ask. since this current arc has been going fairly slowly recently i’ve been thinking a lot about how it may end and reading several analyses etc and one thing i’ve been thinking about - do you think it’s possible tachihara will die? now i want to be clear im not one of those ppl who think bsd is gonna brutally murder half its cast and kill of fan favorite characters jejsyj, as we all know bsd doesn’t kill people off much and is very hopeful. i’m not at all worried about aku and chuuya bc their stories arent finished yet and not really jouno even, but in tachi’s case, i’m not really sure where more could his character arc go to..? like, he’s accepted himself as a mafia member now, but that still leaves a lot of loose ends (does he spy in the hunting dogs, does he leave them, etc etc) story wise i can’t see him just. going back to being a minor side character like before, but i also can’t rlly see the manga continuing to spend so much time on him to tie it all up neatly. i believe i’ve read an anaysis (it might’ve been yours?) that said this arc could be the goblet of fire of bsd aka the arc where everything changes. from a story telling pov tachi dying, while sad, wouldn’t be insanely tragic bc he’s not a major character, and it could imo serve as a game changer - firstly bc he’d be the first proper character killed off in the main manga (like karma and ace were the for only a chapter), so it would somewhat change the tone, but also bc it could give the mafia leverage for when it comes to having an ada member transfer. i saw another analysis that brought up an interesting point that ada could try to argue their way out of the deal since the mafia wasn’t exactly that helpful in the end - chuuya bailed them out once and then i think mori helped kenji and tani rejoin the ada or smth (not counting aku helping sushi as that was on dazai’s orders, not mori’s), but w the vampire thing going on, they seem to be far more screwed than ada is currently, so it could give weight to ada to try and get out of the agreement once this arc is over, and if tachihara, who will prolly in retrospect be comsidered a key player when it comes to taking down fukuchi/believing the ada, happened to die arguably bc he was trying to help the ada, it could give the mafia leverage to ensure the agreement proceeds as planned? + i maaaaay be going overboard woth this bit now but, if tanizaki is the member to join as many have speculated (and i agree w this theory), it could add a level of symbolism as they happen to look alike, so in a way it would strenghten the idea of him “replacing” tachihara. but, as i’ve said this hinges mainly on me not being able to think about how his storyline would proceed if he does survive, so the conclude this very long ask (thank u for your patience at reading btw wjyjjyjy) i wanted to know how you think his storyline could proceed? i think your analyses are some of the most thought out in the fandom so im very curious about your opinon. thank you for reading!
Hi! Yeah, this arc is very slow... I assumed we were gearing up for chapter 100 to be a big one, but it wasn't, so... I would be lying to say I wasn't somewhat disheartened by that. But, the themes and character explorations remain as strong as ever even if the pacing is poor.
That said, I do not think Tachihara will die, and I don't think BSD will ever go the "kill the characters" route, with a few exceptions that I've talked about before. It's not impossible; I just don't think it's the likeliest route. I think Tachihara's "who am I/where do I belong" arc is actually really important. He's both mafia and Hunting Dog, and my guess is that in the future, more characters will start to question their place in the mafia.
Specifically, I think the set up is clear for Akutagawa to decide he is not mafia (and Higuchi to leave with him), as well as for Chuuya to decide that he is mafia, but not Mori's mafia (Chuuya's arc will almost certainly endgame with him as the new Port Mafia leader). I think the mafia should start to have an identity crisis about who they are and what they do, which will result in the shuffling of various roles. Tachihara's identity might be a good kickstarter in that direction.

Gnostic Chorus - theory time!
Not really, just something that bothered me for a long time. From the first moment I saw this one story it did not left my mind and sometimes new information we get fit... so I decided to have a little fun and write down my own thoughts on it. And since we have little to no information about Kaeya... about that a little later, well, let’s treat it like my little headcannon that may turn out not true but is so fun, so here we go :D
Also some spoliers? about newest Archon quest I guess? it may turn out long, I’m just in a mood for it, so you have been warned.
So the story starts with this glorious kingdom, established among the heavens:
Tumblr media
Khaenri'ah was like Dain said:
Tumblr media
He says nothing about them being underground.
Tumblr media
And well, they didn’t have a god, so these words can be understood differently, like Khaenri'ah being among kingdoms in a heaven in garden of gods.
Next we have this line about a crowned heir, will come back to her later.
Tumblr media
She was tasked to search for the genesis pearl...(genesis makes me think about creation - so here another idea for a possibility like remember Khemia? maybe she was meant to find it, but somehow forgot who she was? And stayed as a ruler of  Khaenri'ah? well, let’s leave it for another time) from the kingdom of darkness.
Tumblr media
So lets’ stop here. There is this theory that Teyvat is upside down.
Tumblr media
Which could mean that what we consider top is actually bottom. So if the lore in the books talks about Khaenri'ah as an underground kingdom maybe it’s just misinformation? Maybe not but if we take into consideration how recent Kaeya’s love poem isn’t without a doubt translatable, truly who can trust in everything that’s written about historical events in the pieces in the game? But if it was in fact turned upside down... also this quest and the theory of a fake sky? From  The Crisis Deepens. This would be too much to write about it, also I read all about it, bc I wasn’t playing the game at the time so yeah, it’s on youtube in any case.
So from newest Archon quest we have this:
Tumblr media
I know it doesn’t say out right that there is someone above our sibling leading Abyss but whatever Paimon says something, it is relevant so we can take it into consideration. Will come back to it in a moment as well.
And here comes Childe, Tartaglia, I don’t have him so here a part of his story: (And why did I bring Childe?) Well, first we have his story where it’s said that he learned how to fight from a woman in the abyss:
Story 4
“That 14-year-old boy got lost in the snowy forest.
Pursued by bears and wolf packs, he lost his footing and fell into a bottomless crack in the earth's surface.
There, he witnessed the endless possibilities of another ancient world. There, he would meet a mysterious swordswoman...
Or perhaps one should say that this dark realm had sensed the burning ambition in this boy's heart.”
“In those three months, the swordswoman taught Tartaglia how to pass through the Abyss unhindered, and more importantly, nurtured the ability to stir up endless havoc from within Ajax's trouble-mongering nature.”
Also a really nice post on reddit about his transformation.
 https://www.reddit.com/r/childemains/comments/m9nbei/reasons_behind_the_appearance_similarities/
Also there’s another one:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Genshin_Impact/comments/mt8l3i/at_young_age_childe_had_fallen_into_abyssal_and/
Tumblr media
For those who prefer to see it all in one post. And in the story line our sibling who leads Abyss is Lumine, it does not fit her fighting style. even before coming to Teyvat she was using a sword, so her style wouldn’t change much, even after traveling through every nation.
So I’m assuming it’s another person who is higher than Lumine in a hierarchy in the Abyss. So remember this Crowned Heir that was supposed to find the Genesis Pearl? What if she did in fact ended up in the Abyss, she believed to be a queen of the darkness.
Tumblr media
Which would also explain why our sibling is not called queen, but princess:
Tumblr media
We don’t know how she may ended up in there, but we also know that The Abyss equals ppl from Khaenri'ah. Than why Dain is against Abyss order?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like who laid this curse upon him? Not Gods I think, so maybe the queen of the abyss? Since abyss mages fear her more than they fear painful interrogation...
Also The Abyss order and Dain are on different sides. Why? We don’t know what happened there for sure.
There are also theories (also on youtube) about the cycle and the truth of the word. What if the Genesis pearl is just a knowledge of this word? What if this crowned heir figured it out? And decided to destroy Celestia? And forgot about her orgins, forgot Khaenri'ah? What if what Abyss is trying to do have really not much to do with revenge for for destroying  Khaenri'ah but for all the destruction that Celestia did? What if Dain is on other side because he doesn’t need to fight this order? He doesn’t like gods for what happend to Khaenri'ah but we don’t see him rushing to harm them either. But that’s topic for another occasion.
Coming back to this “theory”.
Tumblr media
The second crowned heir taken on the path where the first have stumbled.
Here also why I think it’s not about our siblings. We don’t know from where they come from, true. We know they were traveling together, maybe they where searching for something? Maybe they are royals? Now we know nothing about it. We know that:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m not putting the whole exchange here but from this we know that our sibling was not send by someone to find something our sibling failed to do. We don’t know what is this destiny Lumine/Aether talks about.
From the Gnostic Chorus we know this about first crowned heir:
Tumblr media
But as we see in the newest Archon quest, it’s from Aether being on the side of the Abyss because I play Lumine.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He/Lumine didn’t forget who they are. From this we can see they also searched for their new home, maybe their last one was destroyed too? Maybe that’s why Lumine sides with people from Khaenri'ah?
But anyway...
Who in the story have a task to do? Who was send with a clear mission we know nothing about? Who is a person about which we actually know less than about Dain?
Yeah, Kaeya.
Tumblr media
We know his father abandoned him at Down Winery with a mission of being their “Last hope” (I will be not posting pictures here about it, this post is long enough). There is a lot of theories about him being a prince or some royal since theories about Dain being a sword are confirmed (see theories about Alberich) not to mention the names of his talents that led us to this conclusion long ago.
For for sake of this theory let’s say that Kaeya is a prince send to find Genesis Pearl. Wouldn’t it fit that he makes friends with criminals? Who is better for a information network?
Not to mention, he told the truth to Diluc, if he was a treat wouldn’t he kill him? or at last told about him to others? Diluc was respected at the time, who wouldn’t believe him?
So maybe his goal is not to destroy Mondstat?
Tumblr media
I always was wondering about this one. What major decision? maybe I’m thinking here too much from experience, maybe it’s not common approach... but his father left him in unknown land, with strangers. With a mission on his shoulders. And Mond gave him a loving family, Crepus, Diluc other ppl who love him, as it is stated on official side of Genshin Impact.
Why would it be a hard choice to choose between happiness and duty? Like I said maybe it’s not a common approach, but what does some old kingdom mean when you have a found home? Shouldn’t it mean more? Is it really that hard of a choice?
But what if he have someone to save? Someone he cares about? or loves? Who isn’t guilty but lost?
You probably can tell where I’m going now with it right?
What if he will have to save his sister? Ok, some will say Aether have to save Lumine from Abyss order but does he? Is she kept there against her will? did she forget about him or their goal? or is she just waiting for him so they can really reunite and continue their journey through words?
I know that this messes with my “theory”:
Teyvat Chapter Storyline Preview: Travail|Genshin Impact
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TAlKhARUcoY
But Dain is against Lumine? He is against the whole Abyss Order, why would be stop us from getting or sister and getting away from Tayvat for good?
The thing that doesn’t fit is that he seems to be talking to Aether here with “You who set foot into this word. Your journey has reached it’s end but one final doorway remains.” And yeah, Aether is travelling, prob the reason why most of NPC call us Traveler instead of using our name. But it can be taken about kaeya as well, if we consider the fact that he come from Khaenri'ah and now he is in Tayvat, which is not considered to be a part of Tayvat.
Ok, it’s longer than I thought... and I still wanted to put her more but oh well.

Me, to Luja: So tell me about yourself
Luja: No
Me: ...ma'am I need to write the story—
Luja: Good luck <3
[now that I do think of it, ALTERNATIVE's main duo that's established right at the beginning is literally a chiller but edgier Katsuki and way worse sUrViVe Nagito genderbends]
~~~~~~
Luja Sen, she/her
Anyways, Luja and Romila are friends from middle school (the story starts with the beginning of their high school at AoS (Academy of the Specialised) which was essentially founded by Nyx). Luja gains her Specialisation (Ferrokinesis: The Ability to bend metal) at the age of twelve, so she has it for a lesser time period than Romila.
Luja primarily wants to become a scientist. Her family is happy with that, because it's praised and everything, especially in our society.
She has a gifted child superiority complex. Being a gifted child + Specialised means that she hardly had many friends in school. Her family had tried to get her to socialize....which didn't go down too well.
She believes that most people are annoying because they waste too much time on useless things like gossiping and what not, which she never showed much interest in and doesn't like to be dragged into those nonsense.
She is friends with Romila since they do share the same taste in stuff and were the only Specialised ones in their class. And they kinda stuck together for most of middle school and went into high school.
She has a problem when it comes to seeing Romila since she tends to see her bad parts and is like, "It's a phase" considering that it's not necessarily affecting her. Romila doesn't get too cranky with her since she fascinates her, with her passion™ for science. Also because she isn't all self sacrifice UwU.
Luja cares for her own self above others (but tends to put Romila pretty close to that hierarchy, which is why she's one of the only two Romila trusts during the Mansion of Death (the other person is Kratanos)) however she also does want to keep what friends she has and is generally caring towards them.
She has a genuine love for science and loves to discover how things work and why, and her favourite facet is Physics. She does want to invent things and honestly just make stuff easier for the Specialised who face a LOT of issues, especially when it comes to amenities since the government is an ass about accomodations and they gained the Fundamental Rights like ten years or so ago in the ALTERNATIVE timeline. And they gain an additional right ("The body won't be harmed for science") when they graduate from school, after signing a contract that they dedicate themselves to helping the government when called upon. (The whole contract is stupid and basically oppresses them more especially the punishment for not abiding by it).
With her goal of becoming a scientist, she wants to use her talents to make accomodations specifically for them so that she could have done something.
The things she fears the most is failure. Failing as in being unable to accomplish her goals. She is afraid of it because it's an unknown variable that's constantly haunted her and she's working hard for it to never reach her.
I suppose there's a way for her to confront that fear during the Mid terms at AoS where she essentially "loses" in the practicals due to her......teamwork issues.
Everyone thinks of her as stuck up and isn't interested to listen to her much and since she views the others as annoying people with annoying habits, she tends to fail to regulate them, causing Romila to win instead (yes, it's THAT unfortunate of a situation) in their match, which causes her to review a LOT of things and she tries to see what caused her to lose after having a severe breakdown.
She develops an inferiority complex in respect to Romila and then spends a long time wondering where she went wrong.
Rena (who somehow clung to her) tries to cheer her up but gets turned back halfway, but she still stays on and Luja is like, "Wtf" until she sees Romila going entirely off the deep end (she presents an interesting contrast to how Koldin sees Romila as well, she sees Romila's behavior and considers it as a justification for her own self....she uses Romila to justify herself a lot (since if you asked Romila, Luja was more or less fine according to her since she wasn't being a doormat and stood up for herself) while Koldin sees Romila as the reason he should cling onto his own stuff) and realises that she could be on the path to destruction herself and accepts Rena's help and tries to be more open to others which leads to the Mid terms parallels in the Archenemy of Society arc where she "succeeds" instead and manages to get the class together enough to escape the situation.
However it doesn't mean that her fear of failure has entirely vanished into the blue, she just reviews the ways she can fail better now and works around it to avoid it and has more confidence in her own self. But she is still scared of failing and would love to avoid that more than anything. However she's chiller after that.
Her intelligence is more or less on par with both Romila and Kratanos, making them the three main strategists in the final battle against the bigots (which is basically a rerun of the Mansion of Death situation but way way worse and fucked up and has different leads to it).
....
The thing is that, no matter what I do, she winds up feeling like one dimensional/repetitive, which is something I am trying to amend about all the characters (I mean, I had to revamp a lot of characters so it will probably take me a long long time to actually get to writing.........sigh besides she stands up like a cardboard amongst people (I mean, you have Romila and Kratanos with extremely complicated storylines and then you have her. Just there))
So the main question is how to make her more interesting as a character and on par with the rest while still keeping her character flaws and personality?
I think the easiest way to go abt this is to view her as a sassy Bakugo. They have the main points in common. They're salty, don't like to socialise, feel inferior to a certain someone while still having some semblance of confidence and a terrible fear of failure
Now as much as I hate to compare your character to another one, it makes it a lot easier to have them become - as my English teacher would say - more. So I am sorry if this comes off as offensive-
For Bakugo, he became interesting by playing a big part in the mc's main story and we do get a few scenes where his vulnerability is shown. I assume it's the same with your character but...what rlly ties the knot for me when it comes to Katsuki is the fact that his problems...are more than just an inferiority/superiority complex. His whole thing stems from background especially (*cough* abusive mom *cough*) and the fact that he's not the main character (or rather that the story isn't being told in his perspective).
These facts make us over think and want more of him. The mystery draws us in which is why I think Luja's character is so perfect for someone in the background. She doesn't like to reveal things abt herself and is pretty dismissive to most things on top of that (plainly just salty). Her character rlly draws you in and the best way to portray those kinds of characters is through another character. Ofc, you'd have to get to their POV eventually but it's important to note that most of the details should come from someone else's POV (an observer, if you will) instead of info dumping and starting straight with hers. A character that's mysterious with a very simple yet relatable story attracts a LOT more attention and interest when seen from someone else's perspective than when you kickstart it from theirs.
Ofc, if u are planning (or already have) started the story from her POV, that would be a bit problematic in terms of interest. But not a train wreck. This is where my other point comes in. The point of making a character have more than one problem
Different ppl as well as characters have a main problem but also different ones, no matter what way you look at it. It seems that even you are confused with all ur character's ins and outs (dw, we've all been there... I am still there tbh) and a solution to that is backtracking a bit and looking at their life from the very beginning in HEAVY detail (like more than u already did). Think abt what other trauma could have been caused, what doubts and fears could have slowly crept it's way to her heart and head (I am a sucker for long-lasting doubts that develop over time) and anything you can even so much as GRASP on. If you look at it and see it as a possibility, try to fit that into her character and add it subtly in different places (as subtext or a creative pattern, wordplay, doesn't rlly matter as long as it's not openly stated bc, remember, the key thing to these types of characters is mystery).
For example, a fear of failure can stem into anxiety before the character has even lost smth later in their life. They probably get rlly anxious when evaluating smth but don't show it much or at all so no one notices. This adds even MORE to the character bc you can build it up after other events. Like once they have failed, they could probably get even more anxious and then develop a bad relationship with the person who beat them (double the points if it was a friend). You could build all that up and turn it super toxic instead of jumping right to the healing. It makes it more interesting, doesn't it? Plus, reevaluating almost everything including world views after 1 loss is...kind of hard to believe even with anxiety (no offense)
Adding a lot of little problems and thinking abt how Luja's behaviour can impact other characters helps a terrible lot if ur doing most of the story from her POV. Especially since she's probably the most relatable character (from what I've heard anyway). I have a certain saying... it goes like, "It's better to have a relatable and connecting character than one with a problem that is too big for normal people to fathom."
I like characters with heart-wrenching problems that I would never be able to relate to (take maybe Shigaraki as an example ig?) But my favourite are the ones that make me feel as tho I made a real connection
Also, I would like to say...if ur looking to progress her character even further, I would debate on whether it's the complete end to the novel or if there'll be a second part. If it's a second part, keep some of Luja's issues. Make her get better but not completely "YAY, I AM DONE BEING TORMENTED". If it's the end of the novel/series/etc., make it so that she's resolved most of most of her issues. They don't have to be completely gone but they have to be a lot better compared to how they started. And how i would work that out is a mind map but knowing ur a scatterbrain...lets talk it out where everything is all over the place
Luja's main thing is to gain confidence in herself and be finally ok with losing, right? If you ask me, that's a tough one but not impossible. I think to get her from point A to point B is to put up a bunch of events like:
Get her super anxious when doing smth
Lose to *insert person*
Have a breakdown and over think on what she could have done better (on the project or whatever she lost at)
Get even more anxious and totally mess up the next thing
Lose once again (double points if it's the same person as last time)
Overthinking abt how she's not good enough
F i g h t i n g f r i e n d s c o z d r a m a
"YoU'rE nEvEr GoNnA gEt BeTtEr If YoU kEeP tHiNkInG aBoUt YoUrSeLf"
Over think abt no. 8 bc out of options and ideas and ✨a n x i e t y✨
Try listening to others more and become b e t t e r
Win smth (bc creator forbid 3 losses in a row to start depression)
Lose again (there is gonna be a bit of back and forth but is necessary for development)
"I tHoUgHt I wAs FiNaLlY dOiNg SoMeThInG rIgHt AnD nOw LoOk"
"Losing is not th3 3nd of th3 fucking world, you lunatic"
"WELL, IT IS TO ME, BITCH"
*insert psychology somehow idk*
Another loss
"I'm angry...but I'm ok"
Note that idk where bullying would come in and these are only how I would think it to go-
A character like this isn't rlly my strong suit when it comes to them resolving their problems but they are fun to write and think abt-
................................did I just give you advice on how to traumatize? I-
So I’ve been thinking lately abt the whole “Barbatos was never a child” thing, and I have a few thoughts abt it.
Tho first I’m gonna be real and admit that idk much abt Barbatos or things he’s said abt himself. I’m not too far into the actual story (bc events are Always Happening and I Can’t Keep Up), so there’s a lot of lil details I prolly don’t know abt. So this might be super easily disproven and y’know what if it is one of y’all lmk. That said-
OM has a lot of its storyline and character design based on demonology rather than full-out biblical literature. Like, Lucifer isn’t technically named in the bible, and only gets I think a passing mention in the Torah. Where you see his name used is like, super recent religious history; when the bible was translated from Hebrew to Latin, they took the word “Helel” (day-star, if the translation is right) and translated it as “Lucifero” (to shine). When it was translated into English by King James (only abt 1611), they kept “Lucifero” as “Lucifer”, bc the descriptor became a title became a moniker.
Older biblical texts just call him “the Devil” or “Satan”. Sometimes “Beelzebub”. And even then, they’re just different names for the same demon.
He is mentioned (intentionally) by name, tho, in demonology - and uniquely defined as his own demon alongside Satan and Beelzebub. It’s also here that he’s defined as the avatar of Pride - alongside the other six demons of sin, in the exact order shown in OM. They’re also only really in demonology listed all together as fallen angels and not just assumed to have been born demons.
It’s also been pointed out before that Mammon’s canonical design is p. much point for point an exact replica of a description shared abt him in demonology circles. And I’ve even noted before that Mammon’s often attributed in demonology as the emissiary between hell and England - which might be why he sings so much English in his songs compared to the other brothers.
Plus, looking at the Goetia (written by real-life King Solomon himself), a few of the side-character demons named in-game are actually other demons he mentions as pacted to him. (Plus this is p. much the only place Barbatos is ever mentioned, I think.) So the devs have, like... a p. defined understanding of demonology material that they use as the basis for a lot of concepts in-game.
Which is why I got thinking when I was reading abt Barbatos in the Goetia, bc. He’s a p. unique demon.
King Solomon gives descriptions abt each demon he’s pacted to; their basic roles, retinues, when they show up, how to contain them, etc... next to drawings of their sigils. It’s all p. standard stuff. Something he does do that’s p. interesting, tho, is point out which demons are fallen angels. And Barbatos, surprisingly, is listed as a fallen angel from the Order of Virtues.
If I’m playing it safe I would prolly say some of the mystery behind his “he was never a child” thing could be a ref. to the fact that in the source material they’re pulling from, he fell as an adult angel and subsequently appeared in hell as a fully-grown demon. Ofc they’ve changed him from that basis for the sake of the story, so it’s just a lil nod more than anything else; a cheeky lil wink to the Goetia and his real-life past, but not smthn they’re really focused on.
But if I were going full risky and balls-to-the-wall mad theorist, then I’d think maybe Barbatos did fall, and maybe even with the brothers, but retconned himself back in time (either at his own behest or likely bc of a deal with the Demon Lord). Or, potentially, he fell much, much earlier than the brothers, for reasons unknown.
We know powerful demons like Lucifer can alter memories (e.g. not remembering what someone looked like during a specific event, or not remembering the event at all), and that Diavolo can change someone’s appearance for an extended period of time (e.g. the Angel event and the Paws and Claws events), so Demon King memory wipe/appearance changing shenanigans could be a thing.
It’d be a reasonable explanation for why he’s only ever been seen as an adult, plus I do be loving the idea of extended use of powers bc jfc those demons just get new abilities every event and the rammifications of some of them are so fucking interesting.
I noticed a lot of ppl saying like, maybe he was just like that from the beginning of time, which is def. possible, but also with how much the devs’ve taken from actual demonology... idk. Anything could be plausible! This’s just another potential idea. It’s interesting and fun to think abt either way.
Sen Çal Kapımı ep 48 asks
THE EPISODE WHERE THEY FINALLY GOT MARRIED!!!!!!!
SERKAN AND EDA ARE MARRIED!!
FINALLY!
YES!!!!!!!!!
Okay, now that I got that out of my system, asks under the read more.
andhewonherheart asked: @andhewonherheart I love that Bolat is Aydan’s last name, not Alptekin’s. I know it’s a little of a retcon, but this way we don’t need to worry about Serkan and his family carrying that man’s name. And Aydan would be a woman that strongarms her husband into taking her last name.
I LOVED THIS!  I sat up straight when Kemal made the comment about Alptekin taking her name and cheered. Seriously. What a great turn of events. Serkan is so attached to his name, it’s nice that he didn’t have to have an identity crisis over that on top of everything else. And now it’s not weird for Eda and Kiraz to take his name after finding out Kemal is actually his father, which I wanted for them. I wanted them all to be tied together with a name, to have that feeling of belonging. Plus, as you say, it’s nice they don’t have the name of that man.
I will say one thing, though... is it really a retcon?  Did they ever say Bolat was Alptekin’s given last name? I don’t think they did (but who knows with the iffy translations we all rely on). I do remember Aydan bragging on the lineage of the Bolats in a very early episode (maybe 2?) and at the time I thought it was odd that she was so proud of the lineage when she just married into it, especially because if memory serves she was sort of heckling Eda, who was marrying a Bolat.  Perhaps this was always intended, and we only feel like it’s a retcon because we’re programmed by a patriarchal society to assume a woman always take a man’s last name?
Anonymous asked: I don’t really like the idea of Serkan giving up Art Life. I understand the symbolism of him giving up his work for his family, but I would’ve preferred that he finds a balance, like he did with bringing Kiraz to work. I feel like that would’ve been a more rounded way of approaching his character, instead of swinging him in the other direction, now instead of having only work, he only has his family. When he could have both.
He will have both. Eventually. He’ll figure it out and get back to where he was. He is Serkan Bolat after all. You don’t expect him to sit idle for any length of time, do you?
As much as part of me was just torn up at him selling his stake in the company, I thought it was really beautiful.  Sure, balance is good, but this is a man who has ripped out Eda’s heart twice by telling her that work is more important than she is to him. This is a man who left ON HIS WEDDING DAY, who put work first ON HIS WEDDING DAY, who got on a plane ON HIS WEDDING DAY because he tried to balance (do both, go to Italy and get married in one day) and it ended up putting them both through hell and almost ruining both of their lives.
Picture how you would feel if the person you were marrying decided to fly to another country on your wedding day?
So I disagree with you. I’m more than fine with Serkan Bolat unequivocally putting Eda first over his career and company. After everything they’ve been though, and her insecurities in that area, it was incredibly important and now she will never, ever doubt where his heart lies. It’s with her. She (and their family) is his top priority.
Besides, the show started with Serkan having destroyed Eda’s dream of studying to become a landscape architect in Italy, it’s quite poetic that he gave up something substantial so that she could realize a dream of working as a landscape architect on her dream project in Italy.
I’m pretty sure she’ll be more than happy to help rebuild their company. Together.
Anonymous asked: i know you said in your previous ask round-up that as far as the actual proposal goes, nothing would top that speech in 27.. i was wondering how you felt about his speech this episode. sure, it wasn't actually the proposal, more like a "reception" toast, but for me i think it was my favorite speech, or at least top 3, serkan has said to/about eda.. just pure love about their journey together and a huge full circle moment with that video from the pilot episode.
YEEEEEESSSSSS. I so agree with this, and actually thought exactly this while watching.  It was a marvelous speech and while, as you say, it was presented as more of a toast, it was really more of a wedding vow.
I loved it. And I’ve rewatched it multiple times and I plan to watch it many times more. As always Kerem and Hande were excellent in the scene. Eda and Serkan were in front of their friends and family, but they were so focused in on one another they might as well have been alone. The emotion was palpable.
She is love. Dang, Serkan!  He’s mentioned love at first sight a couple of times, it was nice that in this moment he gave another nod to that.
Loved the call back to the video from the first episode, it worked really well, especially to remind us of how it all started and how she felt like he destroyed her dream. That segued into him mentioned them destroying each other’s dreams. As I said above, quite poetic, especially since he then put his money where his mouth was by the end of the episode and destroyed his dream to preserve hers.
Well done, show.
Anonymous asked: i have loved the tone of this season so much. none of the drama we have is super heavy, outside of the kiraz reveal which was given the angst and importance it should have bc of how it important it was. otherwise, we've had happy (now married!) edser coming back together and now facing trouble and issues as a couple! this was basically all i wanted for them since 28!
Yes, me too. I really enjoy the tone this season. As you say, it’s not super heavy, the melodrama is at a minimum, most things are light and fluffy and even heavy issues are played with a light hand.
For me, I’ve really enjoyed this season and I’m super glad we got it.  I think COVID did us one favor by shutting down production when it did and forcing them to reevaluate what they were doing.  If they hadn’t I’m guessing the show would have continued in a very messy and directionless manner, with lots of melodrama and storylines that would have been traumatic to watch.
Season 2 has direction and purpose and a plan and once we got past the horrified shock of the time jump and the secret daughter (which I grant you was no small feat) it’s pretty much been trauma free.
Anonymous asked: After watching the episode, I'm lowkey disappointed. we did get Pretty Woman SCK-style. I was promised Serkan as a gigilo and Eda encouraging it!!!!! LOL, jokes aside, I'll never forget the outrage over that fragman over "harassment" or "prostitution" of all things when the actual dinner scene lasted 3 minutes, Eda was being at the hotel the whole time, and the scene where people thought she was encouraging him was about her project. Almost 50 eps and you would ppl would learn how fragmans work.
The fragman was insanely misleading, but lots of them are, so you would think they would have figured it out by now, but nope! A large swath of people really embarrassed themselves with their complete over reaction to something that turned out to be nothing like they thought.
Thankfully Serkan was entirely in the dark about how dire the situation was and why Eda was pushing him to make nice with Deniz, and only humored Deniz very unwillingly and then completely cut ties with her.  I think the best part was the least shocking twist ever... that the Serkan staying in her room line was an actual joke on the show. Come on, kids, it was pretty obvious to anyone with a brain that Serkan would never actually consider staying with her, and certainly not just days after he got married. Preposterous!
Having said that, I do agree with people who think that Deniz being obsessed with him to that degree is dumb. There is a thread of misogyny and internalized misogyny (depending on which writers) running through the writing of these female guest characters who come in and absolutely shed all dignity, sanity and common sense when it comes to Serkan. Selin, Balca, the actress and Deniz.  Good grief. However, I just don’t care enough to get pissy. If that’s what they’ve come up with to fuel the jealousy trope that apparently is a must for Turkish dizis without having Serkan ever have eyes for anyone but Eda, then so be it.
The formula is more than obvious by now, so I’m not sure why some folks made asses of themselves jumping to other conclusions.
Not the original anon, but I glad to see I’m not the only one with these opinions. Wilburs writing felt so much more impactful, so much more focused. With Techno, it’s just.. everywhere. There’s no big plot besides ‘kids suffer and shit blows up’
It feels like everyone’s writing their own story, and possibly struggling with it. To be fair, I’ve only been caught up by tumblr posts so what I’m saying most likely isn’t right, but
The egg. I like it’s return, it’s filling in the parts that techno’s writing doesn’t. Don’t have much info on it
There feels like no happy ending. For anyone. Tommy and Tubbo keep struggling, trying to keep the spirit of L’mamburg alive, but techno refuses to let that happen. I understand it’s in character, it’s just very unsatisfactory. Ranboo and Dream, I don’t even know what’s going on there, but why can’t we just have a bit to heal?
I guess that’s my main point, the angst. Constant angst. At some point, it gets.. annoying. I just want these characters to be happy, why can’t they let that happen? Like the moments after L’manburgs fights for independence. The rebuilding arc.
Also, the constant villain arcs. Nicky, Jack, Bad and Fundy iirc. Does everything have to come down to villainy? I’m a sucker for villains, but this just feels like it’s overdoing it. I know where (mostly of) them are coming from, but why so many? Why at the same time? Are they even in communication with each other? Is anyone, besides the people around Techno?
I’m probably going to hard on Techno, assuming every little thing is his script. Sorry about that
TLDR; why is there so much constant angst and constant everything? Why can’t we have time to rest? Where did the main plot go?
Oh God I Agree.  more thoughts under the cut, so that this doesn’t become too long lol.
i don’t mind everyone having their own storyline.  i really dont.  and i Understand why they do it like that.  they are all CCs and this is their Job/main source of income.  so of course they need to be the main character in their own stream.  it’s just disorganized.  things tie in together here and there and if i squint hard enough i can point out the main storyline.  but the pacing is just Off.
and while i’m cool with everyone having their own storyline or being a part of seperate storylines, it’s Unreasonable to assume people have the time to watch Everyone.  but i wish they could all at least Allude to the other storyline so that the World feels more fleshed out.  even something as simple as philza maybe stumbling across some blood vines to tie into the egg plot.  it just seems so Disjointed and like it’s 4 Separate Stories crammed into one server.
i also wish they actually took the time to Develop New L’manburg.  i didn’t really feel anything about dream and techno destroying the place until a tumblr user pointed out All of the Books that had been Lost Forever.  because there was nothing in new l’manburg to me.  they didn’t really try to rebuild it before everyone devolved into their own villain arc.  or maybe they did and i missed the streams lol.  but there just wasn’t any Heart in it.  they made it pretty for a bit and then boom Obsidian Wall, Exile, Execution, War.  all in rapid fire succession, within the span of less than 2 months.  and there wasn’t enough time to let any of it Sink In and be Processed.
i made a meme earlier today about how every couple of days, dsmpblr has to scramble to put together new analysis theories because of the constant flow of new streams and information.  and i think it’s a bit of a problem.  it’s Okay to Big Events sit for a while for people to dwell on for a bit and catch their breath.  because i’m gonna be real, the dsmp content fatigue is starting to Hit Me.  literally been watching hermitcraft season 6 instead of the streams because there’s just So Much information i’ve missed and So Much information happening every day.
i think the solution to this is for the streamers to Branch Out and do other things.  which they are kinda doing now!  not every stream every day needs to be dsmp.  techno’s pacing is nice bc he has chill streams in between plot streams.  and he streams maybe once a week.  but everyone else who streams like everyday should start doing other stuff (the cogsmp and rust and karl’s dsmp tales are all Wonderful).  ppl aren’t going to forget about the dsmp if you don’t have a major event happening every week.  in fact i think the opposite.
in conclusion.  let people catch their breath.
Upon rereading tgcf, one of the biggest complaints I have is how lackluster all the extra chapters were. literally none of them were good and all contained rlly gross and harmful sentiments (like the amnesia one which.. yea.. or all the things implying xl should get pregnant for hc thus equating gay relationships with hetero ones and playing into the wife thing and just GOD I HATE MXTX)
There were a lot of little plot points i wish that had been further elaborated on more in the extras as opposed to hualian being ... like that. I had enough. Like mdzs had actaully good extras (minus the incense burners) that were nice side stories that elaborated more on the characters. Like the hook one with the juniors was so cute and i loved seeing them grow more. Or the lotus pod extras omg.. im such a lotus pod extra stan. those were so cute and gave us a lot of good insight into just how lovestruck lwj was during the times when he didn’t see wwx. mxtx should've stuck to those sorta extras in tgcf but NOOO. SO I have a list of so many other more interesting things those chapters couldve been spent on like:
A resolution on He Xuan’s revenge and his character arc. Bc its implied He Xuan is still hanging out and watching over sqx and that taking revenge didn’t fully satisfy him bc ok.. yea shi wudu is dead but he xuans family will never come back. Now what does he have to live for?? i wish we couldve seen a look into his life during the entire ordeal. like a chapter from his perspective while he was posing as Ming Yi  and maybe a look at a conversation btw he xuan and the real ming yi or a chapter after SQX was banished to see what he’s doing now. Also what did he xuan owe hua cheng money for anyways?? Like ik not every little thing has to be explained but I Want to Know. PLEASE more goth boyfriend content now I just wanna see him :,((
a better resolution of yin yu and quan yizhens storyline. im still mad abt how that plot point was split btw books 3 and 5  when it was rlly out of place and  there were other more pressing plot matters and it just rlly deserved more time. Also i thought yin yu died!?!?!? but apparently one of the extras says he’s alive and man... i;m not reading any more of the extras to see that, give me a full yin yu and quan yizhen chapter.. fuck.
a day in the life of the guoshi fangxin or general hua PLEASE especially like one where hua cheng was SO CLOSE to meeting xie lian but had no clue that xie lian was there at the time but the two did smth that inadvertantly helped the other and they still were connected even though they hadnt met omg pls that’d be so nice. like imagine Hua cheng catching a glimpse of the guoshi in public in yong’an while he’s trying to follow some lead that points to xie lian or maybe following a lead to capture qi rong bc he said he knew qi rong was a part of the yong’an stuff and originally thought the guoshi was one of qi rongs pawns. like can you IMAGINE him getting so close. but at the last second he did smth small that impacted xie lian. like they bumped into eachother on the street or smth. god i’d go crazy
OR vice versa.. like a day in the life of the young ghost king hua cheng. Like again, one of my biggest issues was that hua cheng just knew everything and its never really explained how he got all of that info. like yes he’s been alive very long and has eyes and ppl working for him everywhere but like... how did he build that network?? I’d love to see a chapter of young ghost king hua cheng travelling around trying to learn as much as he can abt the world and how it can help bring him to xie lian. and the two maybe are in the same kingdom for a bit and they don’t meet exactly but hua cheng stops some fight or something and helps xie lian indirectly or maybe xie lian is performing on the street in some costume and hua cheng doesn’t recognize him and smiles and gives him a coin or smth. idk i’m just dying for any sorta extra chapter or fic like that. i’m honestly so tempted to write my own but i cant write
also!! we’ve seen how xie lian picks up people down on their luck near him and show them kindness (like banyue, lang ying, xiao ying, he tried to with san lang but we know how that ended lmao) so i’d love to see another little vignette of him doing that on his travels and how every person he meets teaches him smth about life and being a good person and idk, i just think it’d be rlly sweet. i love this facet of his character and feel like we didn’t see enough of it towards the end.
ALSO hua cheng only seems to respect one heavenly official besides xie lian and thats yushi huang.. i assume thats mostly bc she was the only one to help xie lian and let him use the rain master hat to bring water to yong’an. I was thinking maybe when he was a new supreme he had run into trouble and maybe was picked up by the rain master and helped him heal and in return he promised to help protect her village from harm in the future. Like i know a heavenly official wouldn’t cooperate with a ghost like that but yushi huang is different and doesn’t really care about the heavens so i think she would protect him if he could do something to benefit her village. ik this is kinda far fetched but when he first became a supreme I’m sure a bunch of ppl probably tried to mess with him and didn’t rlly believe him to be undefeatable bc he hadn’t proved himself yet also i doubt all his power came overnight. he had to learn how to use it once he escaped the kiln. and some group probably thought they could weaken him somehow. I’m thinking maybe a rlly well formed group of ghosts actually caught him off guard once and he had to retreat and was picked up by the rain master and stayed with her and learned from her a bit. i think it’d be a cool concept also i just rlly want more yushi huang content and i’m on their friendship agenda bc he rlly did seem to actually respect her when she first appeared and i think it’d be cool if the two had some history together.
Also idrc if this was addressed I couldve missed it But!! Did xie lian ever tell Hua cheng that the reason he got the curse shackles and was banished again in the first place wasnt bc jun wu wanted to punish him, but because he requested it. And specifically requested it bc he felt guilty abt letting wu ming take the human face disease and disperse for his sake. So he took the shackles and descended to atone for that?? Bc I dont recall hua cheng learning that bc his soul was already dispersed at that point so it didnt follow him and xie lian didnt say anything so uhhh... someone should tell hua cheng that. Like I dont think xie lian rlly said how much hua cheng meant to him and didnt show him he was loved in grand ways. Like xie lian did always care for bc in other ways but I think if hua cheng learned abt this on screen it wouldve been such a great moment and I'm rlly surprised mxtx didnt address this iirc!?!? Like imagine jun wu telling Hua cheng this in the kiln bc xie lian wouldnt say it himself. Imagine how cool that would be.
Also a small thing adding into the whole young ghost king Hua cheng stuff. Its implied and p much stated that hua cheng isnt his real name. That he likely doesnt have a real name bc his parents died? (It's not clear. I'm still mad at mxtx for not making his childhood clearer). So I'd like to see when and why hua cheng chose that name for himself. The new tgcf ending song kinda hints at its meaning with the lyrics "for you I'd fill a city of flowers" as xie lian is the flower wielding martial god so it's probably inspired by that. Also xie lian saved hua cheng from leaping off the city walls but I'd love to hear him say it bc the implication of his name didnt dawn on me for quite a bit and I dont know if everyone made the connection. Again I sure as hell didnt. So itd be cool to see a chapter that takes place in his past after just ascending as a supreme
Overall I rlly think tgcf had a lot more potential to be even better and a lot of that comes down to fleshing out the side characters and letting hualian have more of a storyline independent of one another. like i know the appeal and message of tgcf is that through love, people can overcome anything, but fuck man. i just wanna see what these two (mostly hua cheng) where like in the absence of each others presence. Part of what I really liked abt mdzs is that we got to see that longing develop btw wangxian when the two weren’t together and how they thought about each other and did things in thei others spirit bc they knew the other wouldve done the same thing. but whatever, mxtx was too consumed by her own unhealthy idea of what devotion and true love looks like but still. i rlly think the extras couldve helped the story be better rather than be fujoshi fuel that i try to bleach from my mind -_-
Hot take ig
I realised yesterday that I don't enjoy R's streams as I used to, idk if it is bc when he's alone he focuses on Dono's and they are just....
Rest assured I prefer when he is with T bc I have sth to focus on more, or when he plays variety because he is more into the storyline and some donos are actually better. I enjoy when he is in vc with more ppl on their streams. I enjoy lore. I thought I would enjoy yesterday's one bc y'know remaking T's stuff but I got the feeling that chat felt that R felt obligated / was asked by T to do it, since he didn't clarify and that made me upset bc I don't need more ppl shitting on T on twt, and I am sure some of them assumed that T made R remake his stuff.
I think he was backtracking after yesterday too at least. A little bit, bc he was more "himself" with his chat /audience still and I get a feeling they didn't really like the more bold behavior. Might be projecting but wanted to share
Ranboo is legit the only streamer I would want to talk to irl for the sole reason that I would have a lengthy discussion with him about how he has to stop doing whatever chat says
hypothetically, if I were to write a fix-it/rewrite au fic, (thinking of starting at s5 but debating starting earlier) what are some storylines you’d take out/change, characters you’d save/kill, and specifically changes to sam’s character/arcs you’d like bc i need ideas
ok. ok. I'm gonna try to not go completely off the fucking rails while I write this up but I gotchu (also these r all just my own hot n spicy takes so like. pick what u like, it's all goodie goodie)
• no time passing differently in hell. literally four months is ~Enough!~ a year is enougghh!!!!!! like I get that they wanted to make hell this horrible unreachable thing but u can still like... get that across without having it be this unfathomable chunk of time out of a persons life. like sam was down there with TWO very pissed off angel's for 180 years??? how can he still speak english??? how does dean remember ANYTHING about his old life when mentally more than half of it was spent being endlessly tortured until he finally cracked??? its just.... Too Much...
• ON that note, I feel like later on they never rlly had sam and dean bond over the fact that like... they are genuinely the ONLY two people on earth who have survived actual hell. I mean we got that one off line from dean at some point but??
• no chuck as god. just a greasy greasy rat man getting insane stories projected into his brain. and on the topic of that.... I dont like the reflection of the real life fanbase in the spn universe??? they're pulp fiction novels, it should be all like 50 year old + ladies who picked them up at the local bargain bin, not b*cky r*sen
• I like... WANNA say smth abt s4..... bc I think the way that they handled things were a little out of character BUT I also think that was lind of the point??? like the angels and demons were manipulating them to say/do things they would normally never say/do to eachother to drive a big enough wedge between then that they would eventually say yes to being the vessels. like it hurts to watch sooo much but it did drive the plot forward in a very particular way that probably couldnt have happened otherwise. that being said, when the levee breaks makes me sad, and I dont want to see sam crying for his dead mother alone in a basement! cest la vie.
• sam and dean.... are Friends...,, why did we all forget that..... watch hell house and maybe I'll calm down.....
• PSYCHIC SAM!!!!!! you all know me. you know how I feel about psychic sam... robbed. s4 finale rlly had sam like "drinking that much demon blood has truly changed me forever..... theres no going back now...... 😔😔" like ok. ok. where are your superpowers. where are they.
• I wish some of the other special children had made it out :(( I really liked andy and ava (also sam finding other friend who are like him??? queer allegory??? spare queer allegory?????)
• I also dont think the roadhouse shouldve burned down!!! that shouldve been a Staple Location like Bobby's house. same w Missouri's, literally why did we only visit her once.
• ur sending an ask to my blog so I assume this is just a given for u but!!! we're takin away the misogyny. we're takin away the fetishization! anything that would be given the greenlight by joss whedon we are putting straight in the trash. <3
• this is mostly a thing in later seasons like. idk 9-15, but no ppl knowing who the winchesters are. they are NOBODIES. they pop up like little meerkats and fuck everything up beyond repair.
• also no fancy tech. no iphone 76z or whatever the fuck. sam has an ipod 1. the wheel is so stuck he can barely press play anymore. remember when he literally just tore off the top casing off his laptop and threw it away? more of that.
• no nice clothes. NO nice clothes we fuckin hate that. everything sam and dean own was purchased pre 1995 and dean is an expert at removing blood stains and sewing up jackets. dean will walk into a laundromat with a tide pen and just start goin for it like that scene in deadpool.
• tbh.... I feel like the issues in later seasons are really this massive horrible domino effect. like I could say heres how to fix s7-10 but the fact is if shit hadnt gone down lile it had in s7 s10 would be a different story entirely.
• I am gonna do it tho bc I suck <3
• s6: soulless sam was funney but did that really go anywhere? no. tbh I dont remember what happened w cas and I'm just not going to look it up. it's just not in the cards for tonight. dean w lisa.... ehh.... I've discussed this at wayy too much length w mushroom and we both agreed that dean would probably keep hunting to keep his mind off things and to try and honor sams sacrifice. I guess theres an argument to be made for the fact that it kind of was Sam's dying wish that dean just go fin her and live a normal life but... idk. purgatory was. . indeed a Concept..... that could have maybe gone somewhere if it didnt rapidly spiral into....
• s7!!! I mean. jesus christ. I know some people like this one but jesus christ. the way they literally couldnt commit to having sam have genuine mental health problems after centuries in hell or to just magically wipe them away..... bobby dying halfway thru.... charlie was a bright spot I suppose, but her intro is not my fave episode w her.... idk what the fuck happened w cas, I guess he was god. the leviathan designs were kinda neat but like oh my fucking god it wasnt worth it.
• s8: uh. rough start. idk why the turn tables so suddenly and dean's like "why didnt u look for me >:((" bc??? yall agreed not to???? at the VERY least they couldve had sam been like "I legitimately had no reason to think u werent dead and in heaven and tha wouldve been a little rude of me to pull u out of that." but we went for ~drama~ to make it spicy I guess. ouygh. bunkers there!!! that was cool!!! MoL is a cool concept!!! altho... it doesn kinda contradict the whole sam and dean are nobodies thing... idk. trials of hell was like... cool in theory but bad in practice unless they were planning on ending the show for realskies. and they did not.
• s9: uhh... hated gadreel! hated that shit! wish they had spun that whole storyline to be more "hey sam I noticed u were s*icidal should we maybe address that??" or even like.... I mean dean probably couldve just TOLD sam abt his plan, he had already convinced him to stay alive by that point??? there was no reason to lie!!! plus the betrayal of gadreel not being who he said he was wouldve been like. literally enough drama, we didnt need to fracture the team again. and cas was??? where exactly??? be was human for at least half of that season but hey didnt know what to do w him so they chucked him in a convenience store??? good lord.
• s10: got no suggestions for that one, just toss it
• s11: ok... shes cute.... we can forgive her.... the lore is shaky at best but the episodes SLAP and the characterization is *chefs kiss*. it's been a hot minute since I've seen it so if smth sucked I dont remember and I plan to keep it that way!!!!
• s12: n.. no. no mary. no mary unless we're doing it right. and I promise u doing it right was not poorly ripping off kingsman. couldve brought back bobby!!! if they desperately wanted some drama couldve brought back john!!! actually fuck that, no way
• s13-15: no thoughts, only jack kline <3
Ok I finished skam italia s4 this morning (I literally did not sleep for like 24h for reasons related and unrelated to skam) but I didn’t have a chance to write down my thoughts.
Firstly, thank you to all the translators you guys are literally such angels and I appreciate you so so much 🥺💖❤️🤧🤣
Secondly, the season is still pretty fresh in my mind but due to lack of sleep, none of this might sense and I might have forgotten some things
SPOILERS BELOW
Ok so first thoughts before I had translations since I watched up to ep5 without them: the cinnamontrography and the soundtrack I will not shut up about it omg
Now as a Muslim myself, this season was unbelievably relatable. Like I’ve watched all the other Sana seasons and none of them were THIS relatable to me. Initially, I thought I wouldn’t be able to relate bc Beatrice is not a Muslim and I didn’t know how she would portray Sana in her own season. But I have to give her some credit bc she did her research and tried to do her character justice.I would have liked to have a Muslim actress playing Sana but I firmly believe that having a Muslim writer on the show helped A LOT.
Some key moments for me:
Sana’s Adhaan going off and making her jump and snapping her back to reality was literally me. Sana trying to pray and getting distracted is also me. Sana trying to make wudu in a place where she can’t properly make wudu, I felt that bc sometimes you just have to make do.
Sana trying to pray and getting interrupted by that couple kinda broke me bc that scene showed just how much she does not belong in this world and again she has to make do with what she can find bc no one is accommodating for her. This just isn’t a place for Muslims trying to practice their faith.
The scene where Maryam finds the alcohol bottle on the terrace and Sana says that she didn’t wanna be judged but that she’d be judged either way on both sides. Hella relatable. I’m always on the bridge between not feeling Western enough and trying to fit in with my friends or ppl around me and not feeling Muslim enough and trying to fit in with my Muslim family friends. I love that Maryam understood her and actually didn’t end up judging her for it.
Elia and Sana and his crush on her. Super random but I liked their conversation at the fireplace and how that plays a role into Malik and her conflict between her faith and him. Also like how that was handled with minimal drama to compared to other seasons. NO NOORA/YOUSEF/SANA drama thank u skamit for that too. However there was Eva/Yousef/Sana drama but that was at least a misunderstanding and resolved in the end.
Sana’s speech to the girls. I was crying omg I felt EVERY WORD 😭😭😭
The bench scene: ok so in the OG Isak saying that you have to answer the dumb questions otherwise they’ll come up with dumb answers themselves I felt like he was implying that it’s your responsibility to educate people but I don’t think that should be the case all the times. Sometimes it should take effort from ppl to be decent and not ask questions in a dumb way. Idk if that makes sense but what I mean is that it’s fine if you have the dumb questions, just don’t ask it or assume things in a disrespectful way. That’s why I like the skamit scene and felt it was a bit different was bc Marti gave his point of view of asking the dumb questions or having the assumptions. He told Sana why he was scared to ask her and told her all the things he didn’t know. And he related that back to him being gay and having to explain the difference between transgender and gay to Luchino and get his point across as to why Sana shouldn’t take it to heart all the time and try to answer questions that ppl might have. When he said “when people ask dumb questions, we have to give intelligent answers” I feel like that was better imo (although I do agree with Isak that ppl coming up with their own answers is dangerous).
The hair reveal scene: so I’m not a hijabi but I can see why some people would be offended with this scene. But I also think they tried to answer a question that some people might have. So hijabis can take off their hijab in front of other girls bc technically they’re girls and they won’t be “attracted to you” and so I think they tried to explore the thing of well what about gay guys, they’re not “attracted to you” either, so can you reveal your hair to them? It’s a super complicated question bc gay girls exist too lol and since I’m not a hijabi all I can say is, it’s Sana’s choice, if you are a hijabi it’s YOUR choice if you want to take it off and who you want to reveal your hair to.
Umm I think that’s it for now sorry this is so long and overall I like how everyone had storylines but they weren’t competing with Sana’s. Like everything always connected back to her allowing her to not be overshadowed by anyone else. This really was a SANA season despite all the controversy and I felt and related to a lot of her struggles.
Pillow Book initial thoughts (Spoilers...but super confusing if you didn’t read the novel)
Tumblr media
People are disappointed that she's a fox and his pet and there's no pining romance like they used to be in TMOPB...and then there’s me, having read the book...you complain she's a fox...oh boy wait until she's a handkerchief.
But tbf this whole kind of start from scratch and mess with their story timeline in TMOPB (as shown by Ah Li's presence), making the two dramas logically incompatible instead of intertwined stories has to be the weirdest, dumbest take they could have gone with. This drama was one that would actually benefit a lot from those long winded cdrama introductory set ups.
TMOPB the drama had linear story telling and it worked, but the novel started with BQ meeting YH and AL post amnesia. This drama should have started with a recap of the middle of their (adapted to TMOPB drama) story, with FJ as queen at the end of TMOPB, and only then going all the way back to the beginning of the whole story, like they actually chose to do in this drama, leading up to the moments shown in their scenes of TMOPB in quick recaps (since technically it's different lives it can work), to all the despair of them not having destiny, FJ's other mortal life, etc... And then...right about the middle of this drama’s runtime, when they are at their most desperate, catching up to the end of TMOPB, our PB set up scene and our end of flashback storytelling midpoint of the drama, then, wiggle in the (now re)encounter by the lake with alterations from the book since TMOPB happened, the handkerchief, Aranya's dream sequence and the spark that reignites the hope of them having destiny...and everything that follows.
It might seem weird what I’m trying to say, I mean how could they possibly skip over major scenes relevant to the lead couple’s story just because they were already shown in TMOPB? How could this drama stand on it’s own then, for people who have never watched TMOPB? It would have to be done with care, ofc, but precisely because it is Pillow Book and this world we are talking about, it would work, although it couldn’t be done on any regular dramas. The whole premise and world of the dramas is based around bored and stubborn Gods who do things at a whim and for whom the concept of time is veeeeeeery fluid. (As the Doctor says  “People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but *actually* from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint – it’s more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly… time-y wimey… stuff.”) The time in the novels is only relevant if anything of importance to the characters is happening...For example FJ has about 20 days to make a sword (even immortals have deadlines, lol), so those days all count. On the other hand BQ was so depressed after she lost YH that she literally slept for 3 years. 300 years go by like it’s nothing or are very important, according to the circumstance (ppl who read the book know what I mean), even 70.000 years...Lifetimes in the mortal realm are about a month in the Heaven Kingdom according to TMOPB and the gods wake up from it like they have just gone to sleep and resume their affairs on the immortal realm. So in this setting, jumping over the events of TMOPB with only quick flashbacks and have the characters jump right back in business onto the Pillow Book story is very much in line with the logic of this world and wouldn’t feel weird, jarring or rushed...unlike their decision of ignoring TMOPB and treating it like 2 different stories, AU takes on the same lore, with the same cast, but different events and timelines, which is much more confusing.
I was talking about all of this with @dangermousie and we both agree that the smashing hit that was Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms and Dong Hua/Feng Jiu’s angsty romantic storyline in it was what made most people so eager for Pillow Book with the same cast, and not really an interest in the Pillow Book plot itself (this coming from someone who read it and loved the story). I don’t think there was a hardcore Pillow Book novel fanbase who wanted it to be exactly like the book, so this decision of having it be closer to the source material and removed from the storyline from TMOPB, instead of making it a spin off/sequel...to the point that they made it so incompatible you can’t think of the two as happening in the same narrative, well it’s just baffling to me.
Long story short, I’m liking it so far, but I can’t help but feeling disappointed at the wasted opportunity of continuing their story from TMOPB, bc actually a blend of the two would be perfect for me. TMOPB showed this couple at their most tragic and angsty...PB is on the whole lighter and fluffier. even with Aranya’s dream. Mostly, combining the two would be the best way to go about giving Dong Hua a compelling character arc. In TMOPB he’s a tragic man, accepting that he isn’t destined to be with the one he loves as a sacrifice. In Pillow Book he’s arrogant and doesn’t care so he goes for it. If they had tied the two stories together, we could’ve had the hopelessness of TMOPB because he thought there was no chance, but as the story caught up to the events of the PB novel and he learned that, bc of Aranya’s dream, he already had a chance without knowing it, then we could see stubborn DH chasing his love.
