So this is one thought that has rotated in my brain ever since I watched through the entire 2003 series for the first time, but as much as I love Donatello and consider him my favorite turtle, there is one not-so-tiny thing that bugs me and that's the fact that he does probably go through the least character development of the four turtles despite going through some genuinely terrible shit.
When I think of some of the stuff Donatello goes through during the series, the stuff that makes me think "Good lord, WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO MY BOY," the three incidents that stick out the most are the Triceraton Mind Probe from the Space Invaders arc, the entirety of Same As It Never Was, and the Outbreak Saga/Good Genes Arc. The Triceraton Mind Probe scene is one that is physically painful to watch. Don is writhing and screaming the whole time as the probe rapidly picks through his memories trying to find information on Professor Honeycutt's whereabouts, and it's clear that at one point he becomes so scared that he begs for help from his father. Fortunately, his spiritual connection with Splinter allows him overpower the device and short circuit it, but if he hadn't had such a strong bond with him, who knows what would have happened.
Same As It Never Was... what needs to be said at this point? Donatello gets transported to a bad future where the Shredder rules the world, Splinter and Casey are dead, and the turtles have disbanded after their version of Don disappeared 30 years prior. Donatello watches all three of his brothers die protecting him, and at the end of the episode laments the fate of his poor brothers and just how nightmarish the world is before he's warped away. And that's just the tl;dr version.
Good Genes arc, though, oh my god. I feel a major reason why this arc is so good is because it plays on an idea presented on Same As It Never Was--that is, Donatello, with his level head and ability to come up with ingenious solutions to problems the turtles encounter, is what's keeping the team together. As a result of the Outbreak virus, Donatello undergoes a secondary mutation that turns him into a violent, aggressive monster and it's stated because of reactions with the Utrom mutagen already in his blood, his body is breaking down; if he's not cured, he will die. The knowledge that Donatello may perish if nothing is done is bad enough, but even just not having their brother there mentally is enough to mess up the entire team dynamic. In their desperation to save him, they go so far as to make a deal with Bishop, who Leonardo openly compares to the Devil himself, and their actions ultimately lead to the events of the Ninja Tribunal arc the following season. It was the single most dire situation the turtles were in since Exodus, and it wasn't even an entire galaxy at stake; just their beloved brother.
But despite all that, Donatello doesn't actually change much as a result of these events. That's because, more often than not, the stuff that happens to him is more used to fuel his brothers emotional reactions and development than his own. Good Genes is probably the best example of this because even though Donatello is the one physically suffering during the arc, it's Leonardo, Raphael, and Michelangelo who get all the interesting emotional reactions to their present situation; Leonardo finds himself almost completely lost on what to do without Don, and Raphael and Michelangelo, who are absolutely devastated over Don's transformation, spend much of the arc eerily quiet when compared to their usual selves. The only thing we get in terms of Don is the fact that he doesn't remember what happened while he was "sick," and is thus frustrated by how much his brothers end up coddling him in the wake of the incident (which unfortunately isn't all that important since we're about to enter the Ninja Tribunal arc.)
It really is unfortunate that Donatello doesn't go through much development because I otherwise love everything about him. Besides his intelligence, techno savvy, and ability to quickly pick up skills that might be useful to the team (I'm also very biased towards his Bō not due to its strength as a weapon, but it's amount of utility both in and outside combat), I'm absolutely floored by just how nice and gentle he is. He's still got plenty of sass hidden in his shell and can be quite snippy when he's annoyed, but he shows a lot of emotional sensitivity and is very empathetic; this is especially shown in his sibling dynamics with Raphael and Michelangelo, whose relationships tend to be the most...tumultuous? Of the turtles. I don't have a better word for it.
As an aside, I genuinely feel like The King doesn't get enough credit where it's due because yeah, it's a touching tribute to the late Jack Kirby, but it's important as a Donatello-focused episode because it's not focused on his status as the genius inventor of the turtles; instead, we look at his nature as a kind, friendly individual who is very sentimental and doesn't take loss very well. He quickly strikes up a friendship with Kirby, who is one of the few humans not to reject Donatello just because he's a 5'2" mutant turtle, and they end up having a fun adventure in the alternate dimension where all of Kirby's drawings end up disappearing to. Unfortunately, Donatello is unable to pull Kirby back through the portal in time as it's closing; the alternate ending, which is closer to original Mirage issue the episode is based on, really hammered in just how deeply this affected Don, since he absolutely refuses to talk to Raphael and walks off to be by himself, gazing solemnly at the drawing Kirby was able to send through the portal. "Life at best is bittersweet. Take care of yourself."

A beautiful Byler-Polivia parallel, Will's truesight and other parallels with Fringe
I said I could make 50 posts after my rewatch of S4. I'm gonna start with the parallels with one of my favorite shows. Let's go! @lilitblaukatz
Olivia Dunham is Subject 13, and she has the ability to see and travel to the parallel world. In ST there are many mentions of number 13, and imo that's a hint that there are different timelines (not actual parallel worlds) and we've been seen them since the very first episode. In fact, Will mentions the number 13 in the first scene of the show.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Will-Olivia parallels
It was a seven. I read many theories about this moment and Mike's strange reaction. That maybe Will is in a Vecna vision, and that's why the lights flicker and "Mike" doesn't know what he is talking about.
Tumblr media
Well, I think Vecna is spying Will; those eyes on the skis behing Mike! I think this detail proves that Will's abduction wasn't a coincidence.
Tumblr media
But if this Mike is actually Vecna, shouldn't he know about the game and the Demogorgon? He can read minds, wouldn't he at least try to smile?
Then I remembered why this scene seemed familiar. It reminds me of a scene of Fringe, ep 3x15, when Olivia, who can't control her powers yet, travels to the parallel world and for a moment sees the other Dr Bishop, who is quite surprised by what she says.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(in 3x15 Olivia also meets Peter for the first time)
So, I don't know, maybe Will does have a Vecna vision later, at home. But when he talks to Mike, I think he's seeing a Mike from another timeline/or he ended up in another timeline (because the gate just opened?) I don't know. Maybe a timeline where Karen interrupted the campaign earlier, or Will rolled the dice and won. That would explain Mike's confusion, and the flickering lights.
And now I'm thinking about other parallels
The zeppelin and the Rainbowship
The first time Olivia sees the parallel world, she draws this
Tumblr media
What if Will didn't just imagine the Rainbowship, but drew what he SAW, like he drew the vines?
Tumblr media
Nina kinda looks like a little spaceship, so, maybe... I don't believe what Owens said. I think they were already using the silos before El lost her powers.
(EDIT: Spoilers of The First Shadow- Now we know that in 1943, the ship of Brenner's father wound up in Dimension X, during the Philadelphia Experiment, which was connected to the Rainbow Project. So, maybe Will's Rainbowship is a reference to that and a hint at different timelines)
Tumblr media
But back to Olivia and Will. Here she's drawing while the adults are talking about her, and Will is drawing while Joyce and Hopper are talking with Owens, who gives major Walter Bishop vibes, and even has a son named Peter.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Byler and Polivia, the parallel of their first meeting
The Rainbowship is mentioned in the shed scene, the same scene in which Mike reminds Will of the first time they met.
In 3x15 Olivia draws the zeppeling, and in the same episode Peter finds her sketchbook and sees her drawing of the field of white tulips. Her drawings, that are connected to her powers and visions, help him to find her. And this is a beautiful parallel with Will and Mike, because Peter's life changes when she meets Olivia. They talk about her abusive father (in the shed scene Jon mentions Lonnie) and it's after they talk in that field that Peter decides to accept his new family and his new life.
Asking Will to be his friend is the best thing Mike has ever done, and their lives changed too, when they met.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don't think there are parallel worlds in ST, just different timelines, because for some reason they're stuck in a loop. They mention time loops a few times, and Max even mentions it when they are in Henry's house.
In S2 Nancy tells Murray that his timeline is wrong, and in his letter Hopper says that you can't turn back the clock... But then Henry does it in the flashback. There's also this Back to the future line: The appropriate question is 'When the hell are they?'
Tumblr media
And if there's really a time loop, I think Will and Henry can see other timelines or maybe the timelines are merging? There are so many hints.
From Will's Marty Mcfly outfit in S1, to Henry seeing the Mind Flayer when he was a kid. The crystal ball in the Will the Wise drawing, used by clairvoyants, the Forever Clock that Dustin gives to Will, Will's name engraved on the grandfather clock and him saying, in his Will the Wise outfit, that he's seen into the future. If they're stuck in a time loop, then the future is actually the past, since the story has repeated itself many times. Steve and Robin even mention the whole going back to future/present thing.
In 4x01 El says that they're all time travellers, so yeah, if Olivia can see and travel to a parallel world, maybe in ST people can see (or travel to) different timelines of the timeloop.
Tumblr media
Eleven, Twelve and Thirteen
In the Nina scenes I noticed that Thirteen is often in the frame with El or Twelve (who I think represents Will). At first I didn't understand why. She never speaks or interacts with El. And I didn't know why they cast a girl that looks like young Millie. The actress said that the crew kept telling her that she looked like Millie, and before S4 many fans speculated that she would play El. Everything means something in this show, and the casting is always on point, so I thought maybe they want us to notice something? Then I remembered that Olivia was Subject 13.
So that kid could be a subtle hint that we're seeing different timelines in Nina. From the beginning, when El wakes up and see the rooms of Four and Nine. 4+9=13
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Twelve and Thirteen
Tumblr media
Twelve and Thirteen in the Rainbow Room. It's interesting that in both these scenes they focus on 12, "Will", and 13, who looks like little El, after they show the twins. Willel, twins, and different timelines...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Brenner and Thirteen's room
Tumblr media
Thirteen and Eleven (and Twelve)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I really think that Thirteen is a reference to Olivia, and since Olivia can see parallel worlds, maybe this is a hint at the ability to see/travel to other timelines. I already thought that El was seeing different timelines, and that she was actually there, with her mind, but this is a nice detail.
*Another interesting 13 mention. The 13th birthday of a kid named Georgie. George, like George Smith in the play? We know that Will's birthday is important, and since this scene is about his parents, I think this mention is connected to both Will and Henry/Edward
Hm, a bit lost, because of other timelines/a time loop?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyway, I love Fringe and I love that ST has so many parallels with such a beautiful story.

Questions to Narinder
Did you expect that Lambert would betray you? Did you have any suspicions about the new Red Crown bearer?
How long ago did the cat twins (Baal and Aym) become your servants? Were they always loyal to you, or were they difficult to control at first?
Which bishop do you hate least? Or do you hate them all the same?
Questions to Lambert
What motivated you to betray Narinder? Is it connected with your principles or is there someone who encouraged you to do it?
Which bishop was the hardest for you?
What is your favorite spell?
Narinder: Surprisingly enough... I didn't expect him to betray me for some reason. Remembering our interactions now, I have no idea how this thought never crossed my mind back then with how obvious it was. Was I so desperate to get freed that I chose to close my eyes on that or...?
Narinder: ...
Narinder: I need to think about that.
Narinder: But as for the twins, they knew from the start that one day they would join me. So, once the day finally come, they pledged themselves to me as my servants.
Narinder: And my siblings, I hated all of them equally for their betrayal, but now when they're all dead, I don't know how to feel about it...
------------------
Lambert: Where should I start? From the fact that he's the reason why I'm the last of my kind or from how everything about him screamed "danger to society"? He was no lord to me — and never will be.
Lambert: Oh, definitely Shamura. I give them credit — they sure do represent war with how skillful of a fighter they are.
Lambert: And, uhhh... Probably Hounds of Fate? I usually don't use spells a lot.

Manny sat completely still in the closet of her bedroom, her hand over her mouth to muffle any uncontrollable sounds of her breathing as a couple tears fell from her eyes. There was still shuffling and scuffling happening beyond the closet doors, each sound causing her to shake. Normally, Manny would have been quick to fight off intruders in her home. She wasn’t one to falter or scared of a fight, but things changed when she heard the gunshot.
She wasn’t sure what they shot, who they shot. But it spooked her. Her phone was on her nightstand, just feet from her, almost taunting her. Since she couldn’t call for help, she sat hidden in the closet, waiting for the intruders to leave.
It was silent for about 5 minutes but she let 5 more go by before emerging from the closet. She moved to grab the weapon from her drawer, realizing immediately she hadn’t grabbed the gun she had strictly for this reason. With one more deep breath, her shaking stopped, her crying stopped, and she was stealth, slow, and calculated in her moves as she cleared her apartment.
After realizing she was alone, she rushed back into her room and grabbed her phone. First she called Angel, strictly because he was the first one in her phone, she hung up after the 4th ring, not letting the voicemail get a chance to speak. Her next dial was EZ, this time she let the rings bring her to the voicemail in hopes that he’d answer but there was no luck. She wasn’t going to leave a message, she wasn’t naive. She tried both of them one more time before giving up and moving onto someone else. Coco.
“What’s up?” His voice was so relaxed it made Manny mad.
“Are you with my brothers?” Manny’s voice was on edge.
“Nah, they’re up north on a run.” Coco inhaled a cigarette as he spoke.
“Fuck!” Manny yelled out.
She couldn’t see him but Coco was pushing off the wall he was leaning on as the worry filled his body.
“What the fuck is it?” He asked holding the phone tighter to his ear like that was going to get him answers sooner.
“Some motherfuckers just broke into my apartment and trashed it,” she was looking around now, seeing that everything had been torn apart, her couch cushions were tossed on the other side of her room, drawers were open, it was a wreck. “I don’t know who but I heard a gunshot.” She immediately moved to the front window of her apartment and looked outside. Her mind was going back and forth, she was hoping there wasn’t any of her neighbors bleeding out but another part of her needed to know what the fuck they shot at.
“Fuck! You good?” Coco asked as he tried to think through what to do.
“I’m fine, I just– I don’t really keep company that would do this, you know? It’s gotta be a club hit. Or-or something Angel and EZ got into I don’t know.” Manny rambled. “Can you just– can you come here? Not really feelin’ like being alone.”
“I’m over the border, Manny.” Coco said with sympathy behind his statement. “Let me call one of the guys that’s at the clubhouse.”
Manny wasn’t in the space to argue or make calls so she just agreed. With her brothers not answering, she had to trust Coco and his decisions.
____
There was a knock at the door, and Manny heard it creep open. With her gun loaded and next to her, she creeped up and pointed it at the person who entered.
“They shot your door open.” Bishop said as he ran his hand threw his beard before turning towards Manny. He stepped back and put his hand up when he saw Manny was extending out a gun right at him. “It’s just me, Manny.”
Those words didn’t really offer a lot of comfort to the girl. Bishop wasn’t exactly Manny’s favorite Mayan, let alone favorite person. Bishop and Manny had a very complicated history. Manny blamed a lot of the shit that went on with Angel and EZ on Bishop. Now, she wasn’t naive, she knew that Angel and EZ were in charge of their own decisions, but she also knew that as club president, they’d follow Bishop blindly into anything. And they did. Manny remembers when Angel joined the club, that was the start of Bishop and Manny’s tense relationship. Fighting in the front yard of the Reyes house when Bishop and a few other club members pulled up and pulled Angel away. She remembers when Bishop ordered EZ to go on a run and he ended up coming back with a gunshot wound. The names he called them, the way he acted around her, all extra salt to the wound. Every one of those instances and more were running through her brain mixed with the adrenaline from the break in, shooting Bishop seemed like a decent option. But Manny wasn’t psychotic.
She lowered the gun, a little relieved to know that the victim of the gunshot was her front door and not one of her neighbors.
“Coco called me. Filled me in.” Bishop's hands were still raised in innocence as he slowly walked towards the girl.
“Yea? He tell you my brothers didn’t answer cause they’re out on a run.” Another reason added to why Manny very much didn’t like Bishop.
There was more truth behind that, though. Manny’s last conversation with her brothers wasn’t exactly a pleasant one. But she wasn’t going to let Bishop know that if it meant she could blame him for something else.
Bishop ignored the comment and Manny put the gun on the coffee table, probably one of the only pieces of furniture still upright in the apartment.
“You clock anything? Tattoos? They say anything?” Bishop was trying to figure out who did this so he could figure out what the fuck he was going to do.
“While I was hiding in my closet, scared for my life?” The sarcasm dripped off her voice. “No. Sorry.”
“Alright.” Bishop nodded and looked around trying to figure out what to do.
“There were probably like 5 of them. They were calculated but they didn’t hit the bedroom, just here. With everything tossed around they were probably looking for something.”
“You hidin’ anything?” Bishop asked and it caused a little more tension to grow between them.
She was. Her brothers gave her something a week ago. It was a flashdrive. She didn’t ask what was on it and in hindsight she wished she did. But she also knew that whatever it was, the club wouldn’t have known about it especially if Bishop was asking this. Despite her being mad at her brothers, she wasn’t going to rat them out.
“Yea, a million bucks under my mattress.” Her face turned in a smile that was fully mocking him now.
“I’m here to help.” Bishop was now trying to work with the girl.
“You’re doin’ an amazing job, prez.” Manny wasn’t letting down.
Bishop stood there, if this was one of the guys they’d be put in their place way before this, but this was a line he hadn’t towed often, and tried to avoid in most cases.
“I’m gonna take a shower, wash this fuckin’ disaster of a night off. If you leave, do some boyscout shit on the front door lock and send someone else to stand post please and thank you.” Manny didn’t want to deal with any of this, her anger over the whole situation, her brothers, and now Bishop being here put her over the edge.
________
As Manny came out from the bedroom, her hair being dried by a towel in her hand, she didn’t expect to see her apartment pretty much put back together let alone Bishop horizontal on the couch playing with his pocket knife. Open and close as he stared at the ceiling. The sound of her footsteps alerting him to sit up.
“I, uh, tried my best to clean up. I’m the only one still in Santo Padre, everyone else is either on the run up north or on the other side.” Bishop knew Manny was privy to certain things, whereabouts being one of them. “I’ll stay outside though, just was waiting to give you the heads up.” He stood up and was making his way to the door.
“You didn’t fix the lock.” Manny said her eyes following him to the door. Bishop was about to explain how it was impossible to fix but that it didn’t matter because he’d stand watch and have one of the guys fix it tomorrow but Manny cut him off. “You can stay on the couch.” Bishop’s head turned up at that until she finished her sentence. “I’d rather them shoot you first to warn me.”
He chuckled at that. “Fair enough. You think I could use your bathroom?”
“Through the room on the right.” Manny said, pointing as she made her way to the kitchen.
Looking at the couch, Manny realized she should get Bishop some blankets and a pillow. She might not have liked Bishop but she was grateful he was watching out for her tonight so she’d be a decent host at the minimum. She poured two glasses of water, placing one on the coffee table, next to the gun she had placed their originally, and then she took the second glass into her room to grab spare bedding.
She was shocked to see Bishop staring at her stamp collection. She cleared her throat which made him place the stamp book back on her dresser before turning to face her. Manny’s hand was extended out handing him the glass of water.
“Sorry, I–uh,” Bishop grabbed the glass of water and took a few steps away from the dresser. “I used to collect stamps with my kid. The album caught my eye.”
“I wasn’t coming to spy on you. Was grabbing you a blanket.” Manny turned to her closet.
Bishop stood awkwardly in the middle of Manny’s room, looking around at the pictures in the room, the things on her nightstand, the stuffed animals on the bed.
“Used to belong to my mom.” Manny said as she turned around and handed Bishop the blanket.
“Huh?” Bishop asked with a frown as he had the water in one hand and the folded blanket in the other.
“This,” Manny moved over to her dresser and picked up the stamp album, “used to belong to my mom. We collected them when I was a kid. Before she died.” She placed it in a new spot on the dresser standing up so it was more on display now.
Bishop nodded. “Me and my kid used to go to different flea markets, vintage stores, pawn shops, whatever the fuck, and pick them up. Before he died.” His last three words were spoken directly at her since they were repeating what she said.
Manny’s head snapped to Bishop’s. “I–” She started to say that she didn’t know, like that would excuse all of her behavior to the man but she stopped and just offered condolences. “I’m sorry about your kid. That’s rough.”
“So’s losing your mom, I know that was some gruesome shit, then with EZ going away,” Bishop tried to sympathize with her.
“Yea. It’s been rough. Doesn’t seem to let up.” What would have normally come out as sarcasm came out in a soft voice.
The two of them moved back into the living room, the front door was wide open, Bishop dropped the blanket and glass quickly and drew his gun, his other hand instinctively moving behind him to shove Manny behind him. Her hand reached forward, grabbing her gun from the coffee table and situated behind him, watching his six like she had learned how to do from her brothers. She still hated that her younger brother had taught her how to defend herself but in this moment she was grateful.
“Stay here.” Bishop said as he cleared the apartment, Manny staying on alert at the front door as she closed it with the back of her foot.
Bishop reappeared now, gun back in his waistband.
“Must’ve been the breeze.” He pointed to the door before bending down and picking up the tossed blanket and glass and dropped them in a more proper place . “If you got some rope I’ll boy scout this shit closed.” A smile filled his face which caused Manny to push off the door and laugh.
“Didn’t realize you were so funny, Obispo.” She used his full name, something she never did as she went into her junk drawer in the kitchen and pulled out some string and tossed it to him.
She moved to the recliner she had bought strictly for her father for when he came to visit, bringing her legs up to her chest as she watched Bishop fidget with her door. After he tightened the last knot, his eye fell to a picture that was hanging on the wall. Manny clocked it immediately, she also saw how quick he was to look away. Like he had intruded on something personal.
“Ellie. My ex.”
“Oh, I didn’t realize you uh” Bishop shook his head, embarrassed to have overstepped.
“Like girls?” Manny laughed as she saw Bishop squirm. “I’m shocked, the guys love to clown me on it. Especially Gilly.” She drank the rest of her water. “But, I don’t…you know…” Her head shook from side to side expecting Bishop to understand what she was insinuating and Bishop’s forehead wrinkled in a frown.
“I don’t just like girls.” She said expecting Bishop to understand but his face was still twisted in confusion. “I’m bisexual, Bishop.” Manny said it as straightforward as she could. His face let the confusion fall but he stood there awkwardly. “Jesus Christ, it was easier coming out to Felipe.” Manny laughed. “Take a fuckin’ breath, prez. You don’t gotta say anything.”
“No, sorry, just realized I don’t know much about you.” He sat down on the couch.
“I could say the same.” Manny looked directly into his eyes.
“Guess we don’t know much about each other.” Bishop leaned back against the couch.
“Guess we don’t.” Manny didn’t take her eyes off him.
Bishop stared right back at her. “Maybe we should learn more.”
“Yea, maybe we should.”

hey!! i really like your blog and all of your thoughts about haruhi the franchise are so interesting but what I'm curious about is how do you feel about koizumi in general? you speak about him very rarely but he's my fav character and you're my fav tumblr account so far so i wanna hear it if you have something to say about him ahah
aaaaaa thank you! i'm glad people like my particular brand of nonsense and screaming loudly into what i initially thought was a void. gotta say, being called someone's favorite tumblr is an honor i never thought i would receive from anyone
so yeah, i mostly talk about koizumi on here to give him shit, but honestly that's partially because i find it funny that after mikuru gets promoted from being nothing more than the universe's punching bag he basically takes her place in terms of 'character that suffers for comedy' (see: random numbers and seven wonders in particular), and partially because the text gives us very little of him seemingly being genuine without some level of bullshit attached to it.
like i said yesterday, i don't dislike any of the brigade; koizumi would probably be classed as my least favorite, but it's not so much because i dislike him and more because he never gets the narrative focus that would bring him up to the same level as mikuru
we never really get something that eqates to love at first sight or the melancholy of mikuru asahina for koizumi, and certainly nothing on the level of disappearance or intrigues (which i would argue are the yuki and mikuru spotlight novels, respectively)
(melancholy and surprise i would class as haruhi spotlights, one before and one after her character development; and sigh i would class as 'establishing material that is necessary but not exactly fun to sift through for the most part')
i like to think if we ever get another long-form book it'll be koizumi-centric, mostly because i'd like to see him actually get to be a major player! it's getting a little sad to watch kyon hear him go "maybe i wanted to time travel" and just go "i mean what could koizumi possibly want from me"
but really, the only koizumi spotlight we have is the tempo loss bishop exchange--which, notably, while i take it as canon (as it was authorized) was not by tanigawa; if i remember right, it was instead written by sou sagara
i read a fan translation, as there's never been an official release and my relationship with the official haruhi translations is reasonably antagonistic on a good day, and i think it's worth noting that for the first page and a half i didn't think there would be a plot. i thought it was just koizumi's philosophical bullshit, novelized.
that said, it was really fun to read something from his perspective (kind of like how editor in chief gives us insight into yuki and mikuru via their writing styles; but more direct)
so, before i get into my own thoughts (which i believe i've touched on before), it's worth noting that while the entire cast of haruhi can be easily read a variety of ways, koizumi is arguably the easiest to do this with because we get so little to work with in terms of "things we know to be true"
things we know for sure are true about koizumi: north high student (presumably a teenager), esper, works for a mysterious organization, considered attractive/popular (unless i'm misremembering something), has explicitly stated that he's always putting on an act but has never clarified how much and in exactly what way, earnestly offers advice but often contradicts himself, claims to be able to read haruhi's mood/emotions/something along those lines, and (in the later books) has made a hobby out of trying to convince kyon to deal with his very obvious romantic feelings for haruhi
my own reading of koizumi is biased by my readings of other characters and their relationships/dynamics; and it's also specifically the one i think is the funniest option: koizumi has a thing for both kyon and haruhi, is aware that neither of them views him the same way (with haruhi viewing him solely as a subordinate and only really paying attention when he's saying things she wants to hear, and kyon seemingly regarding him as a friend as well as a source of useful information, but hardly even willing to acknowledge that fact most of the time)
and, since he has accepted that neither of them like him that way but they do very obviously like each other, he's decided that they should get over themselves and get together. unfortunately, kyon's strategy when he hears things he doesn't want to is pretend no one's said anything at all, and so koizumi's words go ignored

I know you mainly talk about bishop. But I am curious what’s your opinion on each of the turtles? I mean in general like who’s your fav and least favorite
Oh yo thanks for the question!! It's true I don't talk about the turtles much here on my blog made to ramble about the turtle shows, woops!
Generally speaking, across all iterations Raph is my absolute favorite in every single one except 2012. Which is funny, because they're all very different archetypes! 03 Raph is my boy, I grew up on the 03 show so I'm somewhat biased towards that take on the characters haha. I find their portrayal of his anger issues and the heart of gold waylaid beneath them to be very interesting, he's all around a very fun and well-written character. Rise Raph is a great mix of goofy idiot teenaged boy and Eldest Daughter Syndrome, and I LOVE his design. I think making him leader was a BRILLIANT change on the usual formula that really pushed his existing character conflict even harder. You can tell he often represses what he wants in favor of what he thinks is expected of him and the pressure really builds up. 87 Raph is just, absolute gem that guy. Funniest theatre kid to ever walk the earth. Love him to death.
The Donnies are usually runner-ups, and as a kid 03 Don was my favorite character, actually! I found his mix of soft-spoken kindness, wicked intelligence and general badassery to be deeply admirable, I wanted to be just like him (Did we get there? Jury's still out.)
I don't know that there's any one of them I'd say I outright dislike, they're all very fun archetypes and I love seeing the different spins every version puts on them. I will say Leos generally don't catch my attention as much, but that's entirely a personal preference. Logically I can see all the complexities packed into those guys, I've just never been interested in protagonist-types, if that makes any sense. Rise Leo was a breath of fresh air in that sense-- and again, a big reason I loved the change in leadership, because we could explore more the idea of who he might be without that pressure, and then, subsequently, how he'd change once put under it.
Uh, does that answer the question? Maybe too much? Well that's just my two cents, in any case haha!

Forced to take a Sick Day: Station 19 Fanfic
Summary: Maya gets sick with the flu and Carina takes care of her
*
"Bishop, you have got to go home. You don't look to good." Warren said as he watched Maya who looked admittedly miserable lay her head on the desk. "Gee thanks Warren. I can't go home. There's nothing for me there."
"Then at least go rest in the bunks, please." Warren tried to reason with the Olympian, trying to check if the woman had a fever. Maya angrily shook off her probie"Get off me, no I'm good. I'm good enough to work, promise. All I have is desk duty today, I'm good."
Clearly Ben wasn't going to change the woman's mind. She was so stubborn and she was of course taught to push through sickness to get things done. Even if it was to her own detriment.
"Alright, but if you get any worse, please let us know?" Dad Warren was coming out and Maya could see it. She quickly grabbed a kleenex before she sneezed everywhere. Maya was too tired to respond she just gave her friend a thumbs up, hoping he would drop it.
Warren sneakily called a quiet meeting in the beanery. "What's going on, where's Maya?" Andy asked, looking around at all her friends faces. Warren sighed. "That's why I gathered you guys. I just wanted to give you guys a heads up to keep an eye on her.. She's clearly not feeling good but refuses to go home since she's on light desk duty today. I also think she doesn't want to go home because Carina's there." Many of the crew nodded, ready to take care of their friend even if she didn't think she ever needed help.
Jack pointed to the stations main stairwell. "She can rest in the bunks if she wants, too." Warren shook his head. "I already suggested that she said she doesn't want to do that, she wants to work but she clearly looks miserable."
Vic spoke up, her hands on her hips. "Should we call Carina to come get her?"
Warren sighed, looking off into the distance then decided, "Not yet, not yet, I told her to tell if she gets worse. So let's just wait to see if she'll say anything."
Maya lasted another two and a half hours until she needed something to help. She went to the kitchen and grabbed a cold water bottle, cracking it open and reaching to grab a bottle of ibuprofen when all of a sudden she got super dizzy out of nowhere.
Warren was eyeing her from the table watching to make sure she was okay when she suddenly started swaying. "Bishop! Bishop, hey!" Warren thankfully caught Maya before she fell and guided her to sit and rest against the wall.
Warren checked over Maya while he whispered to Hererra, "Call Deluca."
Maya was feverish, sweaty, dizzy and clearly was in pain. "N-No.." The woman whimpered hearing her exes last name. It didn't matter if she was in pain and clearly needed help, she didn't know if she would come to her aid anymore. In her mind, Maya clearly fucked up their relationship beyond repair and she had lost her favorite person.
**
"Maya? Where is she Gibson?" While watching over Maya, Warren and Hererra heard the Italian woman enter the firehouse and search for her ex wife. "She's in here, Deluca!"
Carina gasped when she saw the physical state of her ex wife. "Oh amore mio. Why didn't you call me?" Carina asked, squatting down and instinctively going to caress Maya's sweaty face. "You-you're mad at me. I didn't want to bother you." Maya whispered, Carina's heart broke at her exes pitiful response. Carina wasn't even sure Maya was all there right now.
"She needs to go home, we've given her the option to leave but she refuses. I called you after I had to protect her from passing out."
"Of course she did. My love, you always go too far." Carina chastised her ex, petting her hair comfortingly. "C'mon we gotta get you home, bellisima." Carina gently but quickly hauled a miserable Maya to her feet and lead her to the locker room to grab her things.
**
Twenty minutes later, Carina was gently guiding Maya into their apartment. "Th-thank you." Maya whispered, her eyes closed from the pain in her head. "I don't deserve you." Carina sighed. "Let's just get you in bed amore mio. You need rest and fluids." Carina watched as Maya slowly shuffled to their old bedroom and gathered up everything to take care of her.
She grabbed a thermostat, medicine, a washcloth to help her fever, and a bucket just in case this turned south.
"Here, my love. I got you everything." Maya who was clearly out of it tried her best to mumble a thank you but it came out as just a "mmmm"
Carina got everything set up in Maya's 'sick room' and turned to the bathroom when Maya quickly grabbed her wrist realizing Carina was exiting the room, "Don't leave please... don't leave." Carina sighed and leaned down to kiss her forehead, "I'm not I'm just going to wet your cloth for your head bella." Maya nodded and dropped her hand.

Welcome to the Cult of Quietus!
This is a Cult of the Lamb AU written by @itsbaku! It will involve a comic series, but if I am unable to continue it in comic format for any reason, I will proceed to write it out. I hope to get at least two chapters/pages out monthly.
This au differs from the main story in several ways, but mainly that the Lamb is my own fan oc: Quietus!
Tumblr media
I don't wanna spoil too much, but he's a wonderful soul with a goal to liberate himself and to fulfill his goal of slaying the bishops. Why does he look like that? Why does he want to slay the bishops? We'll, I'm sure we'll learn.
WARNING!
This comic will include gore, occasional/possible crude language, and possible uncomfortable imagery. If any of this bothers you, I do not recommend reading the au!
It is also very much spoiler for most of the story of the og game. I recommend playing the game first or watching a video explaining the lore.
About The Author!
@itsbaku is a non-binary individual who loves Cult of the Lamb and many other things. They strive to achieve their dreams of writing books and turning those books into films. They enjoy drawing art of their own ocs and of their favorite characters from media. They are also a huge fan of dragons.
Chapters-
None at the moment!
Notable Characters-
Quietus: The Main Lamb, The Satanic Anarchist, Quietus himself! He's a genderless lamb with a tendency to come off as aloof when he just sucks at understanding people immediately. Truthfully, he's a kind and empathetic soul at heart. However, he can get violent if you choose to stand in his way.
Narinder/The One Who Waits: The Classic Black Cat of Death himself. He's the god of death, but he's hoping his vessel will set him free. A kinder god in this au, but he's manipulative and cruel.
The Bishops, Leshy, Heket, Kallamar, and Shamura: The Chaos, The Hunger, The Sickness, and The Psyche. While Leshy and Kallamar are definitely more kind in this au, Heket and Shamura force them to be more cruel and authoritative with their ruling. The Bishops are cruel, and they hate the slightest bit of change. Anything they don't like is reason to go to the extreme. Desenter? Murder them. It's simple, but cruel.
Lucifer: A black rabbit who is Quietus' best friend! She's kind and compassionate, and helps him out in his worst moments.
Beelzebub: A bee who's great at cooking and is a great help around the cult!
Desmodus: A bat who's a ex-priest who helps Quietus with the religious aspects of the cult, and also has a huge crush on Quietus.
Ask Box?
You can ask any of the characters any questions that you please! No inappropriate questions though, that's not ok. You can also ask about the characters or anything au related!
It's always open(unless I say it isn't), so don't be shy and drop an ask! I don't bite!
•••
I hope you enjoy my au, as I've been working on it for a while. Please feel welcomed, in this cult we are friends.

Kate Bishop was tired.
There should be a better word for the feeling she had, the pure exhaustion that seemed to rest in her bones and her muscles, the slowness of her brain and the difficulty she had wanting to stay awake. But there wasn’t a better word than tired, and Kate was tired in the truest essence of the word.
“Last call everyone,” a voice echoed through the stacks as Kate rubbed her eyes and let out a breath. “Closing up in fifteen minutes.”
She looked at her laptop and the essay that, frankly, had not been her best work yet. First of the semester, she told herself, set the bar low. That was the bright side she had as she ran the spell and grammar check before deciding it was the best she could do, and a full eight minutes before it was due, she downloaded and submitted.
With a small smile, Kate leaned back in the heavy wooden chair in her small corner of the library and accepted this very normal milestone as a very normal victory. She was caught up in her reading. She was prepared for class. She was ready for practice, and she was a full-on, actual, real, most of the time adult. And she was going to fucking graduate. Come hell, high water, alien invasion, cold war, drug trade explosion, new gang war, criminal trials, company meetings, vet appointments, or even… Kate shuddered… statistics.
The archer shouldered her bag after shoving her stuff inside, and made her way into the nearly springtime air of campus. People still mingled about, a gaggle of lower classmen all dressed up for their trip to the bar. It made Kate feel, for some reason, exceptionally old. She hadn’t meant to, but somehow things were different, and she was still trying very hard to figure it all out. Going back to school was the only normal thing she had anchoring herself. She desperately needed to be anchored.
“Hey,” Clint answered on the third ring. “It’s like… midnight.”
“It’s only eleven for you. I can count.”
“They really teach you a lot of good things at that fancy school, don’t they? I'd have hoped you’d learn about time zones prior to your last semester.”
“What can I say, I’m an ambitious student.”
“Didn’t you destroy a bell tower?”
“There was a clock, too– it doesn’t matter,” she sighed and walked toward her subway station. “I was just checking to see if you looked at that data I collected about the Triad in Hell’s Kitchen.”
“I thought we agreed that you wouldn’t worry about anything south of 72nd.”
“I didn’t mean to, but I was following a lead. Should I just not follow leads now when I hit an invisible barrier that is the arbitrary street you randomly selected?”
“Yes.”
“Did you look?”
There might have been some light sleuthing, intermingling with her studies. Some extracurricular efforts were made to continually hone her skills and try to prove that she was ready to take the mantle, or at least do something worthwhile with her life. Suddenly, with her mother behind bars, she felt an immense burden and debt owed to many people, and she didn’t know how to pay it back. She had to fix something, and to fix herself seemed like too much of an undertaking, so an elaborate and ancient drug-based organized crime ring seemed like the right place to start.
“It’s late, Kate. Should you be sleeping or studying or doing the frat party things I hear about all the time and dread my daughter doing in a few years?”
“I was at the library and I’m heading home,” she informed him, trudging down the quiet stairs toward her train. “Did you look?”
There was a heavy sigh on the other end of the line. She knew that Clint was sitting in his favorite chair in the office while everyone was asleep. She could imagine him tilting his head back and pinching the bridge of his nose before picking up the tumblr of whiskey he occasionally had.
She heard the crystal clunk on the table a second later and smirked to herself.
“Kate– just finish class. Graduate. Keep sending me whatever you gather, and remember–”
“Yeah, yeah,” Kate groaned as she slumped down. “Don’t do anything. I am on probation after destroying the Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Center and ruining Christmas for the nation. I am a… God, Clint, don’t make me–
“Finish it.”
Kate shook her head and let out a long breath.
“I am a junior apprentice and have no free will. I am forbidden from doing anything until I have a college degree. If I involve myself in anything without the expressed consent of Clint Barton, I will forfeit any future chance of working with him.”
“Good. So why don’t you try asking me again about the info you sent me.”
“Did you see it?”
“I did. It’s good work. What did you learn?”
She smiled to herself and jumped into her spiel, analyzing all of the information she’d memorized, breaking it down as her train took her back to her apartment. It wasn’t lost on her that he was humoring her, and that more drugs were going to spill into the city because she wasn’t allowed to do anything. But she had to learn. She wasn’t going to be impetuous. Not anymore. This was a new Kate Bishop.
“You are doing good work, but I need you to enjoy school. Or at least broaden your horizons. I know you don’t want to–”
“No, I get it.”
“I don’t think you do,” he sighed. “But I hope you will one day.”
Kate got off at her stop and realized it was late and she was tired, but perhaps not as tired as Clint sounded, for some reason. She was aware that she was, perhaps, too much for some people, as evidenced by most of her life experiences.
“How’s the farm? How are the kids? Laura?”
“Everyone is good. I think we have to actually get a dog soon. Between Lucky and Fanny, the kids are getting used to having one. Laura has already started hinting, but–”
“Fanny?”
“Yeah, apparently I’m running a kennel in my retirement for wayward assassins and trainees while they’re running off into the–”
“Fanny, like Yelena’s dog?”
“How many Fanny’s do you think I know– Do not answer that.”
Kate cackled as she wrestled the keys from her bag to her new loft after the last had been burnt to a crisp. Clint groaned and finished his drink an entire time zone away. Kate missed him. She would go see him as soon as she could. She didn’t have many other people to visit.
“But you watched Yelena’s dog?”
“She was here a month ago or so,” he explained. “Spent some time cooling off, but got called away. I don’t know what she normally does with Fanny, but she didn’t have time to go anywhere else, so we watched her.”
“She tried to kill you.”
“Yeah, well, who hasn’t?”
Kate furrowed and got off the elevator on the top floor. She toyed with her keys and tried very hard not to think about Yelena, the assassin who she was oddly interested in seeing again. For no reason. Certainly no reason she’d actively thought about over the past two months. Certainly not. She didn’t have the time to think of… anything…about… all of that. Not at all.
She sure as hell hadn’t expected to hear Clint mention the former Black Widow slash murder vixen. She hadn’t expected that they’d even talk.
“I’d like to think Nat would want me to try to keep an eye out for her. Be a place for Yelena to crash land,” Clint mused.
It wasn’t often that he mentioned his old friend. Grief was a heavy, violent thing, and Kate could almost understand. But then again, Kate couldn’t imagine being so close to anyone to think about what their loss would feel like in her life. And Clint and Nat were… they were everything to each other.
“I didn’t know her, but she was your family. I think it makes sense that you try to keep tabs on her kid sister.”
Lucky trotted over as she closed the heavy metal door. She tossed her keys on the counter and rubbed his belly and ruffled his ears.
“So she was like, at the farm, just hanging out, with her dog?”
It sounded chill. Kate was certain that her voice was chill. The chilliest. She grabbed Lucky’s leash and prepared to go out yet again. Despite how tired she’d been, she suddenly felt a little more awake than forty-five minutes ago in the library.
“Yeah, we went through some of Nat’s stuff she stored in the basement. We talked about some missions. She got to know the kids. Really good with them, actually, much to Laura’s relief. I should probably never tell them how many assassins they’ve hung out with before they could drive…”
“Mmmm,” Kate nodded while Lucky looked up at her in the lift, eager to go out. “So just left?”
“Yeah. But she picked Fanny up and is back out in the world. Urgent business, she called it.”
“When was that?”
“I don’t know, a few days ago, maybe a week.”
“Cool. Yeah, that’s– That sounds good,” Kate nodded to herself and cleared her throat, furrowing slightly. “Did she ask about me or like… I told her if she was ever in the city to look me up, you know?”
“You only came up when we made fun of your inability to function in following any form of plan. You made an impression, that’s for sure.”
“Oh, great, yeah, you talked… About me…”
“Listen kid, I have to go to bed. I’m taking Coop driving on the back half of the property tomorrow before school.”
“Right, yeah, of course.”
“You focus on class, alright? I’m serious. You know the deal.”
“I know,” she nodded as Lucky found his favorite tree. “I will. Proper education and solid alter ego.”
“Good. Alright kid, let me know when you’re going to be in town.”
“I will.”
“And Kate–”
“Yeah?”
“It was good info. You’re learning.”
She smiled and punched the air, baubling her phone slightly as Lucky bounded beside her with her excitement.
“Night Clint.”
“Later, kid,” he murmured before hanging up.
Left to her own devices, Kate walked Lucky a block down and back, making a mental note to take him to the park the following day to make up for her shitty schedule. She shoved her phone in her pocket and ambled along, enjoying the stillness of the city after midnight. There were a few discussion boards to be done tomorrow. There was a meeting at Bishop Security she was supposed to go to in a few days. There were a few things she couldn’t push off any longer, including a lunch with Jack and maybe even the unanswered letters her mother sent along.
She certainly wasn’t going to think too much about all of that.
Kate broke things down into small pieces. She’d get her degree and she’d prove that the name Bishop wasn’t one of degenerates or thieves or murderers. The name Bishop was going to be synonymous with good.
“You ready for bed?” she looked down at the dog whose tongue slid out the side of his mouth, unfamiliar with whatever she was asking. “Me too, bud.”
Kate went through her routine. She washed her face. Checked Lucky’s water and food. Plugged in her phone. And Lucky quickly curled onto his outrageously priced dog bed, snoring before she even pulled back her sheets to climb into her own.
When she did, Kate didn’t spend her last precious thoughts before sleep wondering where the former or maybe still current assassin who threw her off a roof once, was. She didn’t think about Yelena, just as she hadn’t before, because she wasn’t curious at all. She didn’t want to know anything at all about the woman who could kill her, but still hadn’t. No,
Kate didn’t have time to unpack that at all. She had four classes to pass, a degree to get, a company to save, and a division conference to lead in archery.
All of that seemed fairly mundane when she thought about Wilson Fisk.
All of that seemed fairly boring when she thought about Yelena Belova.
Kate tried desperately not to think of anything important. She couldn’t take another trip down the roads that were long since washed away. There was something about her innate lack of trust in herself anymore that made her aware of how hard it was to not think of the assassin. But her mother lied, and Kate once trusted her. She trusted her so deeply that now, well now, Kate couldn’t trust her own instincts.
So she would train harder, and not think. No more thinking. Ever again.
XXXXXXXXXX
There was a list that existed, of quintessential college experiences. Kate was fairly certain Clint both googled and just used every trope imaginable to compose the list, but along with her other assignments, between class and vigilante-lite, she had things that were deemed vital for her to try to have a rich, fulfilling life before being a college graduate.
“Good vibes, right?” she grinned too widely and looked at her friends.
Spring had sprung, and it was the Tuesday before Spring Break officially started. And while most of her friends were heading off to some place with a beach, Kate elected to stay in the city, maybe take a small trip to the Barton Farm. Nothing too crazy. And so she decided to complete number fifteen on her list, and throw a party. A big party. A huge, magnificent, get the cops called, kind of party. Though no cops had been called because they were on the roof, there had been multiple kegs. There’d been beer pong and flip cup and ring of fire. There’d been suck and blow. There’d been brief nudity. There’d been a good bit of dancing, to boot.
“Amazing vibes,” Greer promised, clinking their plastic cups together.
The crowds began to thin out as the night sky grew a little gray.
“I needed this.”
“Same. It’s been a hell of a time living in the real world.”
“Should have dropped out halfway through your final year so you could be a fifth year senior like the cool kids,” Kate teased.
“Yeah, I don’t think the school would have excused me like they did you.”
“Oh, you just have to have a mother commit egregious and unlawful acts and await trial while a crime organization hunts you down as retribution.”
“Yeah, no I’m glad I graduated,” Greer chuckled. “Though this was a hell of a party.”
“Amazing what access to a trust fund and your mothers insane guilt can do.”
“How are you doing with all of that?”
A few more waved their goodbyes as Kate finished what was left in her cup, the warm, stale evening giving way to the chill of early morning, the chill of her beer becoming warm despite the night’s best efforts. She swirled around some foam and smiled and nodded.
“What is it… the whole serenity to change the things I can or whatever?”
“You’re painfully WASP-y sometimes.”
“Be the change you wish to be. Paint with all the colors of the wind.”
“So long as you’re okay.”
“As okay as ever. Just tired. This was much needed.”
“It was. But I should head out. Get Leah home safe and whatnot.”
“Sounds good. I can probably get a few hours of sleep before the gym tomorrow. I feel like I’m getting old. It’s harder to survive these kinds of nights.”
“Twenty-six this year, huh?”
“I think I’m due a delayed quarter-life crisis.”
“True. Everyone had them for you.”
“Let me know you get home okay. You can stay, if you want.”
The crowd had disappeared, so all that was left was cups and mess and the remnants of a good time.
“As much fun as staying in a beer-soaked loft might be,” Greer laughed, “We should head out. You have an early morning.”
“The cleaners are coming at nine.”
“Nice.”
With a heave, they roused their friend. Kate helped her down the steps and into her loft, which had seen much better days. Cups littered every surface. The music that was thumping through the speaker on the table was muted. The television flashed a screensaver, and all was clear.
“Your ride is out front?”
“Yeah, I called it a few minutes ago.”
“Franny bounced early. That guy from her office seemed nice enough.”
“She’s pretty into him. We all got drinks last Friday.”
“Not as pretty as you,” Leah grinned, hugging Greer tighter as Kate leaned against the door and they paused in the hall.”
“Yes, thank you, darling,” Greer rolled her eyes but smiled. “I better get her home. You have to come with us for drinks next time.”
“Yeah, definitely,” Kate agreed.
Last Friday she’d been deep into a stakeout. She’d probably be into another stake out again, if she played her cards right, but she agreed anyway, because that was what you did at parties.
“Let me know when you get home,” she reiterated.
“Thanks for tonight,” Greer grinned as she pressed the button for the elevator. “We had fun.”
Her girlfriend nodded, arm wrapped around her shoulder. Kate loved them. She’d loved them since middle school. Kate was somewhat aware that perhaps this might be the last time they loved her. How did her mother balance it all? How did she balance running a company and cavorting with crime bosses? How does one murder and tuck their daughter in on the same day?
Kate hadn’t even had a double life yet, not officially, and yet she was wondering how it all would work.
“Love you guys,” she smiled as the doors closed.
“Love you tooooo,” the voices sing out and into a fit of giggles.
By the time the door shut, all was quiet, and yet even with her healthy buzz and the outright tiredness that existed in her body, Kate turned off the light, the television, and the speaker. She tugged a blanket over her shoulders, and she went back on the roof.
It wasn’t on her list, but something about sunrise made Kate feel… better. She wasn’t sure she was upset or sad at all, just that she was in need of a little magic. Nothing was more magical than a sunrise.
With a small sigh, she leans against the railing and waits patiently for the inevitable.
“Kate Bishop, did my invitation to this party get lost in the mail or something?”
Before her eyes registered the familiar form of the assassin sitting on a lawn chair, she knew who it was. She knew the voice and she knew the way her stomach would flip because of the woman who would be waiting.
“The only way to get on the roof is through my loft, with a key card, up the only elevator I was just at, and multiple points of–”
“Any building has roof access if you try hard enough, Kate Bishop.”
Kate grinned and acquiesced. Of course, nothing would stop a Black Widow from getting to where she intended, not even Bishop Security tech that Kate had outfitted the building with, not even anything as simple as an elevator.
Yelena smiled and stood, slowly walking over toward the railing that Kate now leaned against. Kate observed her casual outfit, her black jeans, her black shirt, her black jacket. It all felt very super spy, but the silver in her ears, the necklaces, the rings. They were all bits of Yelena peppered in. If she had been a girl at a bar, Kate would have gazed longingly from a distance and been afraid to approach a girl like that. Even with her elevated and unearned levels of confidence, there was no way she could have approached all of… that.
The spy sauntered. Slid. Glided up to the railing with gently rolling hips. It was exhausting for Kate to watch. It also brought up a few trains of thought that she had not considered or at least fought valiantly to ignore.
“My invitation was lost in the mail, no?”
“Must have been,” Kate nodded. “What brings you to my rooftop, Yelena?”
“I was in the neighborhood,” she shrugged, leaning beside Kate on the railing. “I was promised a drink and a tour by a local, however,” she looked around. “Ironically, there doesn’t seem to be much drinks left here.”
“You should have come earlier.”
“So rude, Kate Bishop. You were my first stop upon arriving to this city. And now I didn’t come soon enough. Have you been keeping out of trouble?”
Kate thought about it and nodded reluctantly.
“I have.”
She earned a hard stare and rolled her eyes.
“You’re worse than Clint. Yes. No trouble here. Unless you count my stats grade dipping below an A. I’ve kept a distance and just done intel gathering. Archery practice. Gym twice a day. That’s it.”
“Good girl, Kate Bishop. I am happy to hear it.”
“What about you?”
“Should I make the joke that I am the trouble?” Yelena asked, amused at herself. “No, no, I’ve been good. Nothing too bad.”
They pair remained watching as the sun finally peaked up, glowing against the sky, peaking through the skyscrapers. The park was glowing, green and vibrant, bursting into life with spring and sun, while the glass and steel of the city started to gleam just as much.
“What brings you back to the city, Yelena? Work?”
“Could I say to you something that I have not said to anyone else?”
“Yeah.”
“I watch many movies about New York City. Many TV shows. I always imagined I live here with my sister and we have very monotonous adventures. After my time at the farm, I wanted to feel a little closer to that childish dream, for her.”
“I’m sure she would have loved that.”
“Yes, Nat found a home with her Avengers family. Maybe we could have had something similar, or I could have fit in there, somehow.”
“So you’re staying?” Kate asked, totally chill. Very Chill. That should be her superhero name. The Chillest. She cleared her throat and looked back at the clouds drifting in.
“I am. I have a business to run, after all. I don’t do well on a team. Now I am a business woman. You know about that, don’t you. You are running your company?”
“Not officially– wait, what do you mean, a business?”
Yelena reached into her back pocket and held out a small, cream-colored business card. Kate held it up, tilting it toward the sun.
“B&R Co. International Logistics Specialists,” Kate read before flipping over the card, only to find it empty. It was thick card stock, the typeface simple and imprinted there. “How is anyone supposed to reach you? There’s no phone number.”
“Why would I want someone to contact me?”
“For business… opportunities? Usually business cards have contact information.”
“Oh, you’re funny,” she chuckled, taking the card back and putting it in her pocket. “Anyone who would hire me knows how to reach me.”
“Of course,” Kate shook her head. “So you’re staying?”
“I don’t know about staying. But I’m here for now. Some interesting contract work exists in this interesting city.”
“And I was your first stop?”
Yelena rolled her eyes and pushed up slightly from the railing.
“You are the only person who owes me a drink in this city. It’s a no brainer. But here we are, and I am still drink-less.”
“Raincheck. Any other day, and I would have been all yours.”
“I should go now, Kate Bishop. I’m happy to hear you are without trouble.”
“We could get breakfast. I could show you some things–”
“You have the gym and practice and a meeting at Bishop Security to discuss the long term rebranding and new technology releases this quarter.”
Yelena moved to the edge of the building before tossing out an anchor.
“How did you–”
“It’s my job to know things, Kate Bishop. Rain check.”
“When?”
“Sometime, I’m sure.”
With a small smile, she disappeared over the edge and Kate was left standing there as the sun came up over the city and the remnants of her party. She wasn’t sure what it would mean, to know that Yelena was in the city, just that now maybe she had someone else to help figure out how to balance it all.
She didn’t move, but rather watched the sun come up on another day, on a random Wednesday that felt different than before.

I decided to make a profile for my OC, which I changed more things than I thought I would. Also because I can't find my Wacom pen and I was bored.
(by the way, this child is a carbon copy of me but cuter so-)
Name: Yuu Lupine (Very much a fake name)
Grade/Class: 1-A
Birthday: 3/10 (Pisces)
Age: 16 (?)
Hight: 163 (Looks smaller than/as tall as Riddle because of posture)
Dominant hand: Right
Homeland: The World Beyond The Mirror
Club: Board Games. Can't go sometimes because they work at Sam's.
Best Subject: Magical History
Hobby: Sleeping and drawing
Dislikes: Betrayers/surprises
Favorite food: Salmon/ikura
Least favorite food: Depends on the mood
Talents: Fast reading skills
Main Base: Mickey and all the people who wandered into a foreign place. (Same as Yuu, basically)
Sub Base: Loki, Mulan, Gogo, Edna (will add more if felt like it/some are taken what I assume canonically)
Black Butler Base (similarity): Sascha and Othello
Magic: No, but actually yes.
Idia did make something for them to have the ability to use magic. Based on Loki's staff, it holds a magical artifact inside. Blot will work the same; basically magic pen, but not pen. Only uses it sometimes, to prevent overblots.
Rollo comes in later and he dislikes it a lot.
Doesn't tell a few people, for some reason.
~~~~
Lv up 1: ...What is this "level up" for-
Lv up 2: I wonder if I can get stronger...
Lv up 3: Maybe I can be strong in this world...
Card lv max: Wait, hold up, I'm pretty sure this isn't magic. What do I need this for!? Well, they do say "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger".
Limit break: I think you should re-think this-
Groovy: I feel like I can beat some of the dorm leaders now! ...Never mind, I'm back to normal.
Episode lv up: Freinds are cool... I can't explain it, but it feels kind of nice and warm inside... Sorry, that was embarrassing, pretend I said nothing. We should have tea some time to talk again.
Lesson 1: You should let me follow you to class, I don't know where I'm supposed to go.
Lesson 2: Ditching class is an option, you know. I mean I think it's good for us to go to class though.
Lesson 3: Wait we have a quiz?
Lesson start: Let's get this over with.
Lesson End: I think I want to have a snack now.
Battle start: I can't use magic... Let me just cheer you, people, on.
Battle win: well, rip to you people who lost.
Attack/duo/etc.: N/A
Magic history ★1: Grim, give me some snacks/ Lucius is as cute as always/ meowww nyaaaa/I'm really bored right now...
Magic history ★2: I've read this before/ I finished this!/I memorized this part/So it's the same thing back in my world?/ My ink...
Magic history ★3: I could write an essay on this in 40 mins/I guess I got some luck today.
Crowley/Special lesson: Did you find a way back for me? No? Then why are you here./ It's not going to matter in the end anyways...
Flying: N/A, just watches (sometimes with Idia)
Alchemy: N/A, just watches. (For now, at least)
~~~
Relationships:
Same as MC, but doesn't vibe with a few. (Including Kalim, Cater, Trey, etc.)
Also, friends with my other OC, Sice (Mob who was friends with Riddle for a short period of time).
~~~
Anyways my other OCs are:
Since- number 6 of the Hearts dorm. He's based off of Doll. NRC
Bishop Hunt: Twin of Rook, very opposite lore. RSA
There are 2 or 3 OCs for the movie "Frozen". Elsa boy is very powerful bc of his UM being similar to Trey's
Might post some art of them in the future?
Since I'm one episode away from finishing Saving Hope, here's some of my thoughts (I will edit this post tomorrow)
! Warning: Long post !
Tumblr media
- 1st impressions:
I thought having a storyline of a doctor talking with ghosts was weird at first...
But my curiousity got the best of me and I started liking the show
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
- The Charapters:
• Charlie Harris (The main charpater): I love him sm, he's definitly one of my favorites, his style reminds me of Conrad Hawkins (The Resident), I loved how he tries to help the ghosts.
• Alex Reid (The 2nd main charpater): I love her sm and I feel so bad for her😭, in just 5 seasons she lost her brother, colley, mother and husband.
She might be a little annoying sometimes, but she's fine overall
• Joel Goran (The fan favorite): For some reason, he reminds me of Douxie Casperan (Tales of Arcadia), but I love him sm too, its sad that he had to die on "All the pretty horses" (Last ep from S3)
• Maggie Lin: LOVE LOVE LOVE HER SO MUCHH💗🫶🏻! I loved her smm on S3 (S3 Maggie on top>>) She might had left on S5, but hey! She's happy with her gf (Sydney)
• Sydney Katz: Sydney ily but how many times you had to left😭, but I love her sm too!
She might had left for the hundred time, but hey! At least this time she's with her gf (Maggie)
Lintz defender since 2023 :3
• Dawn Bell: I feel like this will be contervercial... But... I liked Dawn
I do admit...I didn't rlly loved her on the 1st seasons. But her charapters develoment was amazing! (Dawn pls take a break)
• Zack Miller: Another charpater that deserves better. But he's a decent charapter, I feel bad for him on "All the pretty horses" after witness Joel's death (Him and Joel were friends)
• Shahir Hamza: ONE OF MY FAVORITES!! Has a autistic person, I loved how it was well protacted and respresented during the show!
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
- Extras charapters:
• Wayne Sharp: He deserved more screentime. But he's a nice charapter
• Jackson: I love his humor, he didn't had alot of screentime, but during it, he was iconic
• Jeremy Bishop: Probably another fan favorite, he didn't had much screentime, but hey, him and Charlie were friends and I loved that
• Dana Kinney: MY GIRLL!! I loved her so much! She deserved so much better, her and Alex are a inseperable bond>>>
• Cassie Williams: Her charapter develoment>>>, in the last seasons she was amazing!! I loved her energy so much!
Sad to see her go, but at least she's working with her idol
• Dev Sekara: Another charpater who had a incredible develoment, him and Cassie were so cute togheter!
• Asha Mirani: She didn't had alot of screentime, but she deserved so much better, I feel so bad to her
I have nothing to say much about hed since she left during S4
• Kristine Fields (Another ghost speaker): At 1st she was fine...But after her incident she started to be a little annoying and even she went to the point to haunt Charlie during her sugery😭
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
Series Finale / Final thoughts:
Just finished watching "First and Last".
When I said that Jackson deserves more screentime... THATS NOT WHAT I MEANT
You might think its getting worst? It does, when they all waiting for Jackson, a huge acident happend. And just like the description of "Hope Never Dies"... "They can't safe everyone"
I. AM. NOT. READY FOR THE FINALE
Finished "Hope Never Dies". I cried at the end of the episode
Charlie's gone, gone in his own series. The series started with him in a coma, ended with him brain dead.
Alex deserves so much better, I feel bad for her...
The hole episode reminds me from "The Long and Winding Road" - The Resident: S5, ep 3 (Trust me, I'm still in denial with that episode after a year ago), but a little bit more extreme...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Overwall, I loved the show sm!! Its sad it didn't got another season but I enjoyed watching it
Let me know what you think about this!
Top 10 Actors Who Guest-Starred on Murder, She Wrote
Just the top 10 actors who appeared during the shows run. What? The show is a guilty pleasure of mine. I’m not including William Windom, Ron Masak and Tom Bosley who were on the main cast.
#10. Clifton James as Ray Dressler S5/E7: The Last Flight of the Dixie Damsel (1988)
Tumblr media
All I can say is, the southerner crewman from the Dixie Damsel could have caught a different kind of stabbing... with my penis.
#9. Barney Martin as Lt. Timothy Hanratty (2 episodes 1987-189)
Tumblr media
What? The glasses makes him adorable.
#8. Eugene Roche (4 episodes 1986-1991)
Tumblr media
#7. Robert Prosky as Bishop Patrick Shea, S4/E4: Old Habits Die Hard (1987)
Tumblr media
The only reason he's not higher on this list is because he doesn't have a beard. Wait... don't I dislike beards?
#6. Martin Milner (5 episodes 1985-1996)
Tumblr media
#5. Ken Howard (6 episodes 1985-1994)
Tumblr media
I don't have a favorite Howard guest appearance, but I do have a least favorite. It's the ones where he's not wearing his hair piece. What? He looks hotter with it on.
#4. Paul Sorvino as Al Sidell S5/E20: Three Strikes, You're Out (1989)
Tumblr media
What? It's Paul fucking Sorvino, who I will affectionally call 'Mr. Ass.' Why? Have you seen his ass.
#3. Dakin Matthews (3 episodes 1992–1995)
Tumblr media
Jess and Seth are road-tripping and making a stop in South Carolina (my home state) to see Seth’s cousin and murder victim, Buford Hazlitt (Matthews). Thoughts of doing the two Hazlitts were popping up... among other things.
#2. Richard Riehle (2 episodes 1989–1992)
Tumblr media
Sergeant Devon O’Malley is my favorite of Riehle's two guest appearances. Mainly for his Irish accent and being of the two things in his catalog where he's moustacheless.
#1. Len Cariou as Michael Hagarty (7 episodes 1985–1992)
Tumblr media
A British former MI5 agent, who often appeared when Jessica least expected him to drag her into a dangerous case. Plus, he's the only one on this list who probably clapped Jessica's cheeks.
First i want to say how much i love your writing! I adore your ghoul lore, i read most of them at least 2 times and i can't wait to see your next work!^^
Now my ask, how would era 2/3 ghouls react to s/o or a friend that likes to help others, but because they can't say no others just like to take advantage of that, and dump their work on them? The 2 maybe had plans but they didn't show up because they were stuck doing someone else's work.
I hope this makes sanse, English isn't my first language and sometimes i have troubles putting my thoughts into words sometimes-
Thank you so much for the beautiful compliment <3 I keep rereading it because it makes me so happy. I work so hard on my extended lore and to know you like it makes me so happy!! Thank you for being so sweet!
Your request makes perfect sense :) I hope you love it!!
I'm very excited for this because I don't get to write for some of these ghouls and now I can! And just a quick link to my Ghoul list for reference of the more lesser used ghouls! --> [Link]
Era II / Era III Ghouls With an S/O Who Can't Say No at Work
((Note: I switched up the reader jobs for some of these for flavor! ))
Omega: One of the reasons Omega adored you was because of how humble you were. You made a habit of owning up to your mistakes and growing as both a person and a Sibling of Sin. But lately, it seemed like you were making more mistakes than usual. And you were suffering the consequences with extra duties. Omega realized something was wrong when he was told you were on punishment for not getting your normal chores done. Which was very unlike you. Omega gently pressed you for answers and eventually you admitted you were taking the fall for your room mate- who had the same schedule as you did. They would beg and plead with you to take the fall, always having an excuse as to why they couldn't do their chores! So you would let them take credit for the work YOU completed, and you would take the blame for work THEY didn't do. What could you do? You lived with them, and didn't want them to get in trouble! Omega was having none of it and you had one of his famous talks about boundaries and standing up for yourself. A lot of it was hard to hear, because you cared deeply for your room mate. But someone who cares about you shouldn't be making you suffer. He was more than happy to help you get a new room mate.
Alpha: At first the head fire ghoul was just convinced you were a workaholic. You always seemed ready to drop everything to go file papers or take over your abbey scheduling. Alpha was impressed by your drive and take charge ethics! He had no idea it was from a lack of help by your sibling colleagues. Had he not walked in on someone literally shoving planners into your arms he might have never known. It took Alpha a silent moment to realize the sibling was just going to make you do the work while they fucked off. Nothing could prepare you for the fire ghoul to snatch all of the books, shoving them so hard in the siblings arms they fell on their ass, and dragging you off. "Do it your fucking self!! We have plans!!" Alpha took you to finally have proper time off. And when your colleague tried to give you shit, and the other siblings you worked with tried to guilt you about it... they heard from Alpha. After that, no one really bothered you!
Water: Your ghoulish mate has never had any issue making his feelings known- especially when it came to you. He was always VERY protective of you! That's why you tried to hide from him how much your boss was over working you lately. You took an office position helping a very sour Bishop who constantly made you stay late. With either impossible standards, extra paper work, or just tasks he seemed to make up just to mess with you! You knew if you told Water, the bassist would no doubt give the Bishop a piece of his mind... or worse. And you were right! Water came in to surprise you with your favorite snack only to find you practically in tears at your desk. Your desk was PILED HIGH with boxes of papers that the Bishop instructed needed to be completed by the next day. Impossible. You could only watch in silent horror as Water gave you your snack and proceeded to take the boxes one by one into the Bishop's vacant office. You didn't hear any smashing of furniture, but soon all of the boxes were dumped all over the desk of your boss. When you asked about getting in trouble Water just shrugged. "I out rank him, what's he going to say?"
Earth: The drummer was mischievous at best and a menace at worst. And you loved that about him. It came in handy in ways you didn't expect! Lately you've had a problem with one of your office mates. You were one of the many assistants who worked under the Cardinal who was directly under Papa II. And it was a DEMANDING job with room for little error. And you had been getting shafted lately with all the late paper work the other assistants have been getting complacent with. There were so many times tasks that weren't even yours were just left on your desk last minute with no warning. And your Cardinal never listened that it wasn't your fault. Just warned you needed to do your job! Earth was not one to take this type of slight lightly. Especially having served time with Papa II, he knows the demands. So one day when you've had a rough time he puts a plan into action.... You were shocked when you went in the next day and the Cardinal was tearing into all of your co workers but regards you as ' the only competent one.' Turns out, Earth is computer and paper work savvy. He basically submitted all of that weeks work in your name and ruined your co workers work. He'd just laugh and shrug when you ask him about it. "Not like they can prove it!"
Air: You felt so silly crying to your ghoul partner, who was normally stoic and unsympathetic. But you couldn't take it anymore! You had one Sister of sin you worked with that kept pushing all of her work onto you. She constantly kept using the same unture excuses to leave early or come in late, and your over seeing Bishop would let her every time! This wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't every day, and you knew it was fake! Even with proof that the sister was lying your Bishop would just tell you to suck it up and finish the left over work. Air listens to you before finally telling you that you don't have to put up with it. You're confused. You can't just tell your superior you're not doing the work. "You can either stand up for yourself, refuse to do extra work, or leave... or you can stay and let both walk all over you." The bluntness was something you were used to but... he was right. You quit your Bishop the next day, went to HIS superior, and lined up a different duty that day. Air never says it, but you can tell he's proud of you.
Ifrit: The fire ghoul is a patient and accommodating ghoul. He's fine with last minute change in plans or you having to cancel a date once in a while. But he was starting to wonder why you canceled three dates in a row. Ifrit wasn't angry at you, but he knows that's not like you to keep canceling! He was, however, furious when he found out why you weren't able to see him! You were one of the kitchen staff and you were stuck cleaning the dishes by yourself... again. Your fellow siblings who were responsible for the side work in the kitchen after the cooks would leave were constantly pawning off the dishes to you. They would do everything else but refuses to touch them! And working in a clergy full of hungry ministry, siblings, and ghouls that's a LOT of dishes every night! What's worse is that the current kitchen manager wouldn't care WHO did them, they just needed to be done. Ifrit never goes nuclear on people for no reason.. but this was one of the few times you've seen smoke come out of his ears! Ifrit drags you out of the kitchen, sits you down to have a break, and you watch him storm off. It takes him an hour but he tracks down EVERY kitchen staff sibling and makes them do the dishes for you. Ifrit snorts smoke and looks at you. "and if the manager complains, I'll fucking make him do dishes too!!" You love your big dragon ghoul so much.
Ember: Sodo could always tell when you weren't doing well. And lately, it seemed like you were burnt out and exhausted. When he told you to your face that you looked like shit and he was worried about you, you had to confess what was going on in your daily life. You wanted the other siblings to like you so much you were taking on extra chores. They constantly gossiped about other siblings who snitched, or siblings who were too worried about doing their jobs. And they made those siblings life Hell! You always wanted to be liked and had a hard time with it. You didn't want the siblings you worked with to outcast you... so you did everything they asked. And they took advantage of it. You pulled so many extra laundry shifts, sweeping times, and even taking over a kitchen shift for a week. You were tired but so afraid! Ember stared at you before demanding names. It took you an hour to convince the fire ghoul NOT to fist fight the other siblings... but he did use his status to help you. Soon you were promoted on "Papa's Request" and found a new assistant job where the other assistants were professional and very sweet. You didn't even care about the old siblings you used to be scared of. Actually, it was nice watching them actually clean all the meeting rooms you got to join!
Tide: You wouldn't say anyone in particular was taking advantage of your helpfulness on purpose. Rarely did the same Sibling you worked with ask for your help more than a handful of times. You were just the type of person who IMMEDIATELY offered to help when you heard something needed to be done! You loved to offer assistance and make everyone's lives easier. It made you feel accomplished and like a good team player! But often, you found yourself taking on too much at once. Really insisting you could get all of this extra work done! Tide had been worried about you since you started having less and less sleep. Eventually sitting you down and wondering why you take on so much. He loved that you love to work but the ghoul knows what burn out feels like. Tide was very honest and pointed out that the other siblings wouldn't think less of you if you stopped offering as much help. "I know everyone likes you the way you are. You don't have to keep doing so much."
Aether: The quintessence ghoul has tried to keep his mouth shut when it come to your 'friends' at work. You secured yourself a very nice position in one of the offices that connects the ministry to one of their book publishers. But you were constantly tired trying to 'help' your friends get their work done. It wasn't until you were laughing off the all nighter you pulled the night before trying to finish an editing job that Aether finally broke down. "Why do you always end up pulling all nighters, but your friends never help you with your projects?" You tried denying it at first but... he was right. You were constantly reviewing and editing their assignments to be sent off, but you couldn't even get them to help you work the fax machine. They were always too busy, chatting with each other, or supposedly needing to respond to emails. But they all became attentive to you when you volunteered to get coffee or proof read. Aether gave you a hug when you deflated, realizing that you weren't really a friend just an office lackey. But you were so grateful for his support when he coached you ways you could set boundaries... or just tell them to fuck off.
Stratus: You had the upmost privilege to go touring back in the day when Stratus had joined Papa Emeritus III for a short time. Stratus and you had been an item for some time and he was able to convince Papa to give you a spot as one of the touring assistants. You were warned it was going to be a lot of work, but you weren't expecting so many of the other siblings to go fucking off half of the time! You were under the impression that the Unholy mission of it all might have inspired a lot of the crew to take pride in their work. But you saw how easy it was for others to want to taste the band roadie life. While many of the crew were fantastic and helped you with learning the tricks of the road, you still found yourself picking up slack for those that would get caught up flirting with the band ghouls or messing around the fans and merch stands. Eventually you had enough and ranted to Stratus. He just watched you with a grin which made you more mad. Eventually you snapped at him, "Why do you keeping LAUGHING at me! This is serious! We have a job to do!" Stratus pointed behind you. "Because your problem solved itself." You turned and your face drained seeing a Curious Papa III, who had been listening quietly in his make up robe with his macchiato YOU made perfectly. "I think I can help with your problem, yes? Just no more yelling? Stress is not good for my complexion! Okie Dokie?" You just nodded dumbly as Papa nodded happily.
Ivy: You met Ivy when you were assigned gardening detail. A little known fact is that the Ministry is actually self sufficient in many abbeys, so they can rely on their own personal food source. So community gardens and crop harvest is actually very important for teaching and daily life. At first it was fun! Until some of the siblings also in the garden decided that talking and hanging out was more important. You asked many times for them to help you finish various jobs. Only for them to blatantly ignore you and laugh at your diplomatic pleas to just finish the work. Eventually you gave up and started deweeding and digging up the soil for new vegetables by yourself. Half way through the back breaking work, your partner Ivy showed up. The ghoul was confused as why only one person would be doing it and eventually stepped in to finish so you could take a break. When you told him everything that has been happening it pissed him off. But Ivy is not a volatile ghoul. To your horror, he calmly walked up to the siblings all chatting. To their astonishment, Ivy informs them of their write-ups and being exchanged for ministry toilet duty (yes that is real.)
Mountain: You loved that Mountain always spent time with you when he wasn't doing band ghoul work. The stone ghoul lately noticed you were picking up more time in the library. Normally this was fine for you. You loved being one of the librarians and helping keep the place running. But it seemed like you were the only one helping with it's upkeep. You were grateful Mountain would stay late at night helping you re-arrange entire giant shelves of books. Or putting in new books into your rather out dated card system. He never complained and did whatever you asked. But one night when it was your fifth night in a row re-arranging shelves Mountain finally asked why you did it by yourself. According to you, the head librarian said you were the only sibling who was reliable enough to get it done. The other siblings who only did the library because they had too couldn't care less about doing it right. And the last time they helped there were so many lost books and the card cubbies were wrecked for weeks! Mountain just listened before suggesting that it wasn't your problem the head librarian didn't get better help. At first you wanted to protest, but you realized... this really WASN'T your problem. You just left and came back the next day refreshed- happy to say you refused to do anything until proper help was found. And, to your surprise, instead of getting in trouble your over-seeing Bishop was happy to get you help. Also by putting you as the head librarian!
Mist: Mist is a quiet ghoul, she likes to watch and observe. The calm bassist is honest but she thinks about what she wants to say to you carefully. Mist noticed that you tended to be too nice, almost TOO reliable in your duties. You were one of the head siblings when it came to setting up the chapels for sermons or rituals. But all of your fellow siblings ALWAYS seemed to have an excuse of why they couldn't help! Soon, it was just you setting up by yourself for weeks. Mist eventually joined helping you, hating to see you stressed. One day she looks at you when you finished. "Why do you never stick up for yourself? Duties are supposed to be shared for a reason." That REALLY hit you hard. The next week, you (with Mist as your moral support) made it clear you were no longer covering duties for others. Some of your fellow siblings made a fuss about it, but others apologized. You've been a lot happier without the extra work! And Mist was proud of you for putting your foot down and ONLY doing work assigned to you!
Hello!! Since you know a lot about tmnt lore I was wondering who your pick for the time traveller would have been? I only watched 2012 I remember the lady who Mikey was fond for and the rabbit usagi
Hi!!! Before I start I wanna thank u for this ask. It was so much fun to answer!
My first pick would’ve definitely been Renet, since she’s already established as a time travelling character in multiple iterations of tmnt - it would’ve been a great call back to IDW, 2003, AND 2012!!! Plus, Rise needs more female characters! They have a lot of great minor female characters but they never developed them too much (probably due to being cut short :( ) Not to mention, Renet is just such a sweet character and I would’ve LOVED seeing her interactions with Rise Mikey!!! Rise Mikey needs some friends and they could’ve been besties. Hes never really had a friend his age who meets his energy and optimism in Rise.
Tumblr media
Renet I think would’ve been the best choice. BUT I do think some other characters could’ve made for an interesting movie too~
1. Mira
Tumblr media
2012 did their mutant apocalypse arc so dirty. I can’t even BEGIN to list the number of things they did wrong…. But Mira is one thing they did right. She was a new, original character who became pretty much the adopted child of a turtle (Raph) and lived as an orphan beforehand alone in a wasteland. SHE WOULD’VE MADE SUCH A GREAT MENTEE CHARACTER!!! The Rise movie is already showing to have a lot of call-backs to the 2012 Mutant Apocalypse arc by the looks of the trailer. Using Mira would’ve been a great addition.
2. Fugitoid
Tumblr media
He’s time travelled before!!! Fugitoid is such a great character and he had the opportunity to give Donnie a mentor figure, which he never really had in Rise. Not to mention, Rise Donnie’s technology has never really been beat before? I think it’d be cool for him to meet a scientist from the future who is actually smarter/more advanced than him.
That’d have to be a very very minor thing or not mentioned at all tbh, since the movie already seems stuffed with plot... but I still think it’d be neat!
Aside from that, Fugitoid would’ve just been a great addition because he’s already been established before as a character fleeing the future to save the turtles from the end of Earth. They could give him a cool backstory with the Kraang as well, since the Kraang haven’t been fully established yet in Rise so there’s TONS of opportunities for worldbuilding. They couldve caused him to lose his physical body or mutated his home planet - he couldnt save his people, but he'd be damned if he'd see it happen again.
Bishop has been both an antagonist and a friend of the turtles. There are so many possibilities to be done with him!!! He's someone who has reasons to hate the Kraang already and would've gladly gone back in time to stop them if needed. While Bishop isnt my favorite character and there are better choices out there, he'd definitely be an interesting one.
COME ON RISE HAS GOTTA BRING IN MONA SOMETIME
She couldve been a normal human in the future who got mutated in the apocalypse. We'd have to scratch the whole mentor arc thing since thatd be weird since shes kinda , historically, Raphs love interest... but it can be done without that.
Itd be interesting if she lost Raphael in the future and now she travels back to stop the Kraang from ever invading and sees he's still alive here.
Angst potential~
5. Danny Pennington
If Nick is desperate to bring in a cool new teenage guy character, bring in a NEW one at least! I honestly dont have any real profitable reason to argue that Nick shouldve used Danny because I think most forgot about his existence but. I liked his character. I vote we give him another shot.
Then we can give the fandom a scruffy, messy, teenage boy who wants to fight a lot without replacing another established character!! Come on guys Danny is RIGHT THERE he can be the scruffy wildly impulsive teen boy :(
