This is by far the stupidest thing he’s ever had to be a part of: mixing in with the crowd, undercover, at some posh sex party.
Pretentious smut, he reminds himself, feeling out of his depths. But there's a killer at large, and if there's a chance this will protect people, he'll take it.
“Just pretend to be one of them voyeurs,” his boss had said.
Still, there is something undeniably enticing about the glow of the candlelight against the honey-colored stone, the chimes of champagne glasses, the brush of satin and velvet and silk on his touch-starved skin as he walks through the room.
When he sees her, she’s sitting on a widow seat, a book in one hand, a man’s head between her legs. She takes her eyes off the page and looks back at him. His heart stutters. She loses her composure for a fraction of a second but it’s enough to know she has recognized him.
Shit, she could blow up his cover. Blow up his whole life. He’s tried to stay away from her, to resist, he really has this time.
Hannah grips the anonymous man’s hair and raises her hips to meet his mouth. Hardy swallows thickly, but he can’t look away. A phantom flavor teases his tongue. She never breaks eye contact with Hardy, not even when she comes.
Later, when Hannah brushes by him, she slips something in his hand: a key, engraved with a room number.
He walks through the dim corridors in a daze. There are hands on him. Champagne bubbles burst against his teeth. Heat flows beneath his skin. Memories of her wash over him.
The room is mostly empty safe for a Tudor chair, dark wood engraved with patterns that will mark his skin. A coil of thick rope rests at his feet. Not a lifeline. He’s in too deep already.
“Nice suit,” she taunts.
"Nice dress."
She isn't wearing one. She’s wrapped only in midnight blue and charm.
“I’m on duty,” he says.
“Me too.”
She walks towards him. Heels on stone, swaying hips and ruby lips.
“Han…” A weak protest.
“Shhh.”
He sits down obediently and looks up at her with his big brown eyes.
“You’ve tried so hard, working and working, helping others,” she murmurs. There's a rhythm to her words that feels like an incantation. “It’s okay. You’ve done so well.”
She runs a hand through his hair, nails skimming his scalp. Shivers of delight run down his spine. The moon to his ocean, she pulls something deep inside of him. His eyes flutter shut.
“Now won’t you be good for me?”

Nine x Rose- Duke AU
The cop and the call girl
1) Jeopardy friendly Rose
I have the barest beginning of a fic for this one, mostly it’s just an idea. Basically, Rose is visiting Jackie and they are marginally involved in terror attack in London. For once Rose is not the target, but they are close enough that it shakes Jackie. I wanted to write a fic where Jackie, who is always complaining that Rose is off to who knows where doing who knows what would be safer at home on Earth, and it is an eye opener when a normal (well not normal, but very human) terror attack happens with nothing to do with the Doctor and that maybe Rose is safest with the Doctor around. It begins Jackie’s acceptance to Rose’s life.
2) Soulmate AU - Based on the idea of soulmates as described in Plato’s The Symposium (where Zeus had split previously whole people into two halves, and that they would spend their lives searching for their other half and not take up arms against the gods).
It is canon-ish:
Rose Tyler didn’t realize that she was missing anything from her life.
She had a loving mother, who maybe took a little too much interest in her life and wasn’t afraid to give her opinion, but loved her fiercely nonetheless.
She had a boyfriend, who sometimes paid his mates down at the pub on match night more attention than he did her, but he was good to her.
She had a job, that okay it didn’t exactly stimulate her, but it let her pay her debts.
She didn’t know anything was missing from her life, until she met the Doctor.
3) Nine x Rose- Duke AU - a rare (for me) Period/Human AU:
Pete Tyler, husband of Jackie and father to Rose, is a baron. Not a high ranking noble, but one of the oldest and wealthiest baronies in England. He is well respected and is old friends with Rassilon, Duke of Gallifrey. Rassilon’s only son and heir, John, returned from the war lost and broken. Harold Saxon is a distant relation to Pete, but one of the only male relatives he has and is thus Pete’s heir. When he starts sniffing around Rose, Pete gets nervous that Saxon is plotting something, especially since Saxon’s own father met his end to mysterious circumstances. Pete and Rassilon come up with a plan. Pete marries Rose (by proxy and without her knowledge) to John and transfers as much of his wealth that is not entailed to John as her dowry, so that Rose and Jackie will be taken care of should anything happen to him. Harry tries to get Rose into a compromising position with his friend, Jimmy Stone, and John who thinks it would be best to get to know his now wife thwarts their plans. Rose doesn’t like being managed, but her sunshine and spirit bring out the best in quiet and serious, John, and they learn to be friends.
There are plots, there is intrigue, there is Rose in period attire!
4) The Cop and the Call Girl (Hardy x Hannah)
Hannah is in Broadchurch for a family wedding and is bored out of her mind. She meets Hardy at a bar, where he’s just been stood up on date, and they end up having a one night stand. In the morning she gets a call from Stephanie asking her if she’d like to attend a very exclusive event as a favor that’s very near to Broadchurch. She agrees, because why not? A murder occurs at the party and Hannah is very surprised to see the mystery man from the night before as lead detective. The murderer is very inspired to eliminate any potential witness, and Hardy is very inspired to not let that happen to Hannah.
Here’s a tease:
Hardy stood rooted to the spot. Hannah took a step closer and ran her hand up his chest to loosen his tie. “Now are we gonna talk all night, or are you gonna fuck me?”
“I, eh...I need to have something to call you.”
“No real names though, okay?”
He nodded. “Alright.”
“Ok, well then, how about…” Hannah sighed and tapped a finger on her lips as she tried to come up with a name.
“How about...Rose?” She looked at him in question and he shrugged. “Bit of Shakespeare.”
Her eyes lit up. “Oh! ‘A rose by any other name…?’”
He nodded a bit embarrassed. She gave him a big smile. “It’s perfect. And how ‘bout you? Should I call you Will or Romeo or-”
“God, no. Eh, how about John.”
She looked him up and down. “It's not your actual name is it?”
“No. It's an anonymous sort of name, John Smith.”
Hannah released the breath she’d been holding. “Okay then, John Smith. Show me your moves.”
Hannah pushed him up against the door and on tip toes she pressed her lips to his. His gasp of surprise allowed her to swirl her tongue against his.

Fandoms: Doctor Who, Good Omens, Broadchurch & Secret Diary of a Call Girl
Number of fics: 20, including a couple of drabbles and a poem. I think about writing a whole lot more than I actually write. *sigh*
1. Fic you spent the most time on: Probably my Thirteen x Rose WIP, due to research etc. I’ve been so slow about it (I literally started writing it before Thirteen’s first season debuted) that I had to rewrite parts of it twice to adjust characterization, and because the canon changed. Of completed fics, I probably spent the most time on A Thousand Synchronous Points of Light (Ten x Rose, E) because of the amount of research that went into it.
2. Fic you spent the least time on: very short fic and poem aside, likely either Generation T (Tentoo x Rose, G) or Keep Calm and Carry On (Ten x Rose, E).
3. Longest fic: So far, 66 Degrees South (Nine x Rose, E), though my Thirteen x Rose WIP will be longer!
4. Shortest fic: Gateway From a Broken Heart, just a drabble at 158 words. (Nine x Rose, G)
5. Most hits: 1524 for A Thousand Synchronous Points of Light (Ten x Rose, E)
6. Most kudos: 123 for the above, but at 122 each, The Turn of the Earth (Ten x Rose, E) and Echoes of Krop Tor Transcribed (Ten x Rose, conservatively tagged M) are very close!
7. Most comment threads: 29 for 66 Degrees South (Nine x Rose, E)
8. Fave fic you wrote: It’s usually whatever I’m working on, lol, so probably my Thirteen x Rose WIP.
9. Fic you want to rewrite/expand on: My fics are all pretty self-contained, and I consider them complete, but if I were going to write a sequel to one, it would likely be either Secret Diary of a Broadchurch Christmas (Secret Diary of a Call Girl/Broadchurch, T) or In the Forest of Fog and Remembrance (Tentoo x Rose, T).
10. Share a bit of your WIP or share a story idea that you’re planning:
The working title of my Thirteen x Rose fic is “Persistence of Memory.” Here’s a short excerpt from the first chapter, set in the British Museum of Natural History. :))
Rose raced past huge fossil bones and plaster casts on enormous shelving units that stretched on almost as far as the eye could see in the dim light. Keeping up her pace out of nerves even though she realized the guard was no longer in pursuit, she headed towards the light emanating from a small doorway at the end of the corridor, trying in vain to slow down as she ducked inside. She barrelled into the surprisingly solid occupant of the tiny room, and strong arms grabbed her just as the latticed ironwork door slid shut behind her with a clang.

Plot bunny - ok, since I can’t stop thinking about this, gonna just throw it out. Anyone, follower or not who is really interested, pls let me know because that might make a difference. Ok, here’s the thing:
Just got done watching Big Little Lies and I can’t stop imagining a....not quite AU exactly, but a Hardy/Hannah set in that kind of place. Together, a later in life child*, a new place maybe in America, she’s something of an activist but people don’t know her past life, he’s...idk consulting or something?? writing detective novels? A mystery/crime involving the community causes conflict....
Here is my usual problem with H/H ideas....I have a vibe and a setting and a very moody kind of want, but not a plot! :P Not sure if the actual show plot is usable in any way but I could think about it more. BLL is really about the women, more than any of their romantic relationships....so hmm hmm.
ETA: Another from the drafts, I guess early 2017 then. Since I made the decision that all fic idea posts are going out into the light, here it is! Adding some rambling about parenthood headcanons below the cut:
*because my headcanon would be that *if* Hannah were to become a mother, she seems to me the kind of person who would decide to do it later in life because she found herself in the kind of stable relationship and place where it now seems possible. As in, I don’t remember particularly on the show her saying she directly didn’t want children so much as the presumption that motherhood would never fit into her life as she wanted to live it. (If I’m wrong about this, well, it’s a what-if-x-was-different scenario.) And when that changed, she reconsidered. I know women for whom this is true, who had one child.
I also love imagining a whole comedic take that the show would have on Hannah-as-mother, dressing her kid up to the nines and doing mom-ritual things and handling the social side of motherhood and schools and all of that. 😁😁😁 Like, Hannah is a very different person from me, but I have inhabited this world for a long time, and so much seems potentially hilarious about it - not that I think I could write comedy exactly, and it’s more a show thing than fic thing. :P (Kind of like Sex and the City with Miranda’s baby, though I bet I’d take issue with a lot of outdated stuff there and the way they frame competitive womanhood a lot of times is ehhh:P)
As for Hardy, I don’t think the impetus to have another child would come from him, but if Hannah wanted to, he’d be all in and wanting to experience it all again from a better place. Daisy would have feelings, but at her age she’d be ready to just enjoy the kid.
Throwing this up! I don’t know if it will lead anywhere, but I enjoy thinking about it!

I wish Hardy x Hannah got the same amount of crossover fic as Hardy x Rose, but I suppose SDOACG is slightly more niche than either Broadchurch or Doctor Who (massive understatement.) Such a delicious pair needs more authors. Maybe if I get the time some day, I can try my hand at writing again. Until then, it’s re-reads, refreshing AO3, and sighing over pics of Billie.
