Drarry I Explicit I 23k I Friends to lovers, domestic fluff, they were roommates, Healer Harry and Draco, trans male Draco, besotted Harry, fluff and smut.

Summary: Harry’s happy — happier than he’s ever been in his life, really. He loves living with Draco, studying with him and cooking together. He likes spending the little free time they have playing Quidditch or going for a walk in the countryside. Draco is still oddly mysterious about the potion he takes every day, even though Harry is a bloody Healer in training, and he still never changes in front of him, but that’s fine. Harry respects his boundaries, because he has his own too. He’s just secretly gutted because he would love to see more of Draco, to find out if his skin is milky white under his clothes too, if he has any freckles or moles. Harry is curious, and spends an inane amount of time trying to picture Draco’s legs or his shoulders or…ehm…somewhere else.

And he is probably - or most likely - a little enamoured with the blond git, if he has to admit it to himself, but it’s fine.

This one took a village. I cannot find the words to thank my super wonderful sensitivity readers, @ihopeyoubothstaysafefromharm, @samyistrying and Elfarock - this fic would not have happened without their help and amazing suggestions.

my hp trans fest 2022 faves

canon-adherent--canon-plausible--fics are my thing in general -- ones in which writers take key canon events and details and use them as a jumping-off point around which to weave their own narratives. there's something about that that feels very satisfying, reclaiming almost, especially from the angle of trans fest. anyway -

Lay down your armour (be with me forever) by @bluesundaycake (E, 21k, severus snape/remus lupin) [rb the author's tumblr post!]. A story told over a decade of encounters, where a body feels like a graveyard and another like a battlefield, and names are whispered tenderly until they feel real.

a canon-compliant snupin from the hogwarts-era period through to first war. fantastic severus characterization, what a gorgeously bittersweet romance. an absolute masterclass in first-person POV, made me feel so many feelings.

Family Legacy by @thistlecatfics (T, 1.6k, tedromeda, remadora, teddy/victoire) [rb the author's tumblr post!]. Three generations of trans/nonbinary/gender questioning Tonks-Lupins.

canon-compliant, amazing HCs. whatever the opposite of generational trauma is -- generational healing? we do what we do in hopes of building a better world for the people that come after -- and this is sort-of a story of that.

Two-Way Mirror by luna_rapunzel (G, 4k, black family gen relationships). Narcissa and Sirius come out as trans together. Sirius's transition goes smoothly. Narcissa's doesn't. the story behind why they made the choices they did (Narcissa staying in the family but breaking their naming traditions, Sirius running away but picking a name that fit.)

beautiful side-by-side of two parallel trans journeys; intersectionality at its finest. superbly IC black family & black cousins relationship dynamics, even in this AU.

wear your heart on your skin in this life by slanted-HP-knitting (SlantedKnitting) (T, 4k, wolfstar). remus is a tattoo artist who runs a studio with tonks, and one day sirius comes in looking to get a tattoo for his brother.

Granger took another deep breath, and Draco noticed their hands were still clutched together. “Only daughter thought a son of death and son thought a daughter of mud can breach the difference, and turn the lich to white with green.” Brown eyes pierced grey and Draco was frozen in place. “Do you understand, Malfoy? The difference?” She nodded back. Yes, oh, yes, she understood.

Magical Trans Comfort Fest (AKA MT comfest) 2023!

For the third consecutive year, we are running the MT comfest! With new prompts, fresh out of the oven, we cannot wait to see what you'll offer the world! This fest is meant to provide comfort and a sense of community to those who might have a hard time during the holidays, and those who want to spread warmth during this time! Thank you @basicallyahedgehog for your beautiful graphics.

This is a very informal fest, so there is no hard deadline and you don’t have to sign up– all you have to do is create your work, and then post it into the collection once it’s open! The rules are the same as last year– above all, we ask for respect and kindness in both creating and interacting with this fest. Your creation must also have a positive tone, be an HP work, be thoroughly tagged, and contain at least one trans character. Works can be mature or explicit as long as they are tagged appropriately and the creator is over 18. You do not have to be part of the server to participate, though we’d love for you to join!

You can produce whatever you feel comfortable with, whether it be a drabble, a long one-shot, a doodle, a time-consuming fanart, a podfic, a collage, a fic-bind, a headcanon post… whatever you want!

The fest will run for three days and we are providing prompts for inspiration, but feel free to pick and choose or completely ignore them if you have other ideas! The collection will be opened closer to the date of publishing. In the meantime, feel free to check out the great works from last year’s fest!

You might have peeked two sets of prompts earlier on this post. For extra spiciness, we got you another entire new set of prompts! We have the regular prompts, and same as last year, they can be combined or used on their own. Then you have the dual prompts, who go together and don't bear really well to be separeted. Have fun!

The first step is getting away from his mother. The second, surprisingly, is moving in with Potter.

Includes, but is not limited to: Harry's fantastic cooking skills, Christmas in October, friendship, an emerald necklace, too many crêpes and Draco's disastrous attempts at hiding his feelings.

HP Trans Fest 2023 fic claim

I am absolutely thrilled to share that I participated in @hptransfest this year. My prompt was about non-binary Tonks dealing with dysphoria and discovering found family. "This will be fun!" I thought. "Found family, what a joyous trope! Queer genderfuckery is such a wonderful lens through which to explore Tonks as a character! What a nice break from angst this will be!"

Anyway it turned out to be very therapeutic to write this story. In, like, the most harrowing sense of that word. It hit really close to home, and the plot goes through some rough moments, but I hope I was able to bring across some of the joy that Tonks (and I) have found.

Sheena Snape is an old fart with a chip on her shoulder and a shitty punk band. Sheena Snape is dating the living embodiment of half-assed centrist appeasement. Kingsley Shacklebolt is the head of Magical Britain and not quite the man everything thinks they are. Kingsley Shacklebolt wants to hire their girlfriend for the Ministry-approved LGBT center. It’s 2004, and it seems like Muggles are finally starting to figure this rights thing out while the Magical world stands still. Time to fuck the system figuratively as well as literally.

Rec: What a wonderful @hptransfest fic! such a specific premise--Two unlikely former warriors find themselves in a new battle as they attempt to start a collective in order to open a LGBTQ Center. Trans! Snape (MTF) and Genderfluid Kingsley.--and the author really committed. so many specific tiny personal moments and worldbuilding details alike. i adored seeing what their identities meant, what they felt like, to both our main characters. and the messy activist-squabbling-but-make-it-magical worldbuilding!! too real. i loved it. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

I would like to rec Clair de Lune by RonsGirlFriday A03, work 30412794 (no links allowed in ask?). It features a trans Luna Lovegood and fits the Queer Cuties theme very well. It's by far my favorite fanfic ever and it provides a beautiful portrait of Luna who is just going to be her best self everyday. Xenophilius is a supportive father who wants the best for his daughter. It's a great rep of someone who know's who they are. Full disclosure, I have written a fanfic of this fanfic.

This is a lowkey fest, so there is no hard deadline and you don’t have to sign up– all you have to do is create your work, and then post it into the collection once it's open! The rules are the same as last year– above all, we ask for respect and kindness in both creating and interacting with this fest. Your creation must also have a positive tone, be an HP work, be thoroughly tagged, and contain at least one trans character. Works can be mature or explicit as long as they are tagged appropriately and you are an adult. You do not have to be part of the server to participate, though we’d love for you to join!

You can produce whatever you feel comfortable with, whether it be a drabble, a long one-shot, a doodle, a time-consuming fanart, a podfic, a collage, a fic-bind, a headcanon post… whatever you want!

The fest will run for three days and we are providing prompts for inspiration, but feel free to pick and choose or completely ignore them if you have other ideas! We will make a post closer to the dates of the fest to announce when we open the collection, but we wanted to announce the prompts with plenty of time for you to create. In the meantime, feel free to check out the great works from last year's fest!
