Our second work for the theme, Mothers and Daughters, is here! Brought to us by scrxpz, this is an AU in which Bellatrix Lestrange raises Luna Lovegood. Snippet and link below! Be sure to check out the mother-daughter bonding!
The doors slid open and they all filed out, marching their way along the platform towards the gate. A cool breeze swirled around them as another train pulled into the station. With it came the smoky scent of burning fuel and the approaching autumn chill. It stuck in the back of her mind like the smell of spell fire; ash and ozone hanging in the air like flies around a corpse. Her stomach rolled, acidic bile clawing at her throat as memories of that night flickered behind her eyes.
The acrid smoke wafting from smouldering wood.
A nursery still colourful and spotless despite the carnage beyond its pastel walls.
Foxes gnawing on the charred corpses left in the wasteland of a happy home.
Bellatrix grasped Luna's hand in her own, giving it a light squeeze. Focused on the warm flesh against her own. The girl squeezed back, tiny toy rings digging into her palm. Alive. They were alive.

Father's Legacy, Mother's Love by @midnightstargazer
OUR FIRST WORK FOR THE WHOLE FEST IS HERE! Thanks to MidnightStargazer for starting us off with this piece centering on Astoria Malfoy and the relationship with her son, Scorpius. Snippet and link below!
The middle name belonged to Astoria’s father. She knew he disapproved of Draco just as strongly as Narcissa disapproved of her, so perhaps it was only fitting that they both be represented in the name of the child who, if either of their families had gotten their way, would never have been born at all. In any case, Astoria loved her father, no matter how he felt about her choice of husband.
“Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy. Write that down on the birth certificate.”
A part of her wished she could pass down her own maiden name. The precious, innocent child in her arms had done nothing to deserve the one he was to inherit from his father. But that wasn’t how things worked, and perhaps it was for the better. Astoria could think of nothing quite so satisfying as raising her child to be the sort of person her in-laws would never want to carry their family name.

The 2024 fest is here!!
For our first theme of the Ladies of HP Fest, we are inviting works that explore the themes of mothers and/or daughters. This can be any aspect of motherhood or daughterhood, including the desire, the absence, or the loss of either. It can also include like-a-mother or like-a-daughter relationships. You can focus the work on either a mother or a daughter, or both!
Below you'll find prompts to get you started. Happy creating!
Characters who want to be mothers or struggled to become mothers
Like-a-mother characters, absence of motherhood, loss of motherhood
Joyful and/or complicated mother-daughter relationships
What it’s like to be the mother or daughter of (insert character here)

Welcome to the Ladies of HP Fest! This post is your quick start guide to the fest and how it works.
Themes: Every two weeks, from 28 April 2024 to 31 August 2024, there will be a new theme. You can check the themes and dates on the 2024 Schedule.
Writing/creating: Minimum fic word count for the main fest is 200*; no artwork 'time' amount, but use your best judgment to show something that took effort. The full rule list can be found here, and the FAQ list can be found here.
Posting: When you're done, post the work to the 2024 AO3 collection. It will be unrevealed until the mod reveals it. There is no set reveal schedule; it's a come as you are, come as you go sort of fest, and no set commitment to any week. HPTV Network Fest 2024: The Details
HPTV Network Fest 2024: A fest for reality TV-inspired fics set in the wizarding world of Harry Potter.
Rules:
All types of reality-TV based works are welcome! When you complete the claiming form, simply tell us which TV show you choose and which characters and/or main pairings you’ll be writing about.
All ships are welcome (official fest policies include “don’t like, don’t read,” “your kink is not my kink and that’s okay,” and “the back button is free to use.”)
Zero Tolerance for Disrespect: We are committed to making this a fun and enjoyable space for everyone. Discussions about others' choices of pairings, characters (including OCs), reality TV shows, and writing must be conducted with the utmost respect and courtesy. Derogatory comments, ridicule, or disparagement of any kind will not be tolerated. Violators will be promptly removed from the fest to ensure our community remains a positive and engaging environment for all participants.
This fest will follow AO3’s terms of service for this fest, with one exception: no graphic/explicit sexual content of minors will be permitted. All archive warnings and content warnings must be tagged. If you fail to tag appropriately, your work will not be accepted.
This fest should be a welcoming space for everyone. Be kind!
Fics should be at least 1000 words long. There is no maximum number of words. Art and drawings of all kinds are welcome. If you are submitting a written fic, a beta reader is strongly recommended. If you need one, send an ask!
Most importantly, have fun and be silly. This is meant to be a lighthearted fest with lots of opportunities for humor.
Claiming, Writing, and Posting:
This is a self-prompted fest. We ask that if you are writing for the fest, please fill out the claiming form with your reality TV show selection, your main character/pairings, and a way to contact you to confirm you’ll be participating in the fest.
Claiming ends on 17 June 2024.
Works are due on 17 July 2024. Any extension requests should be sent to the ask box on Tumblr or to one of the mods (listed below).
This is a semi-anonymous fest. Author reveals will occur the day of each work’s posting. Until then, they will be anonymous and unrevealed on AO3. To post for the fest, add your work to the HPTV Network Fest 2024 Collection.

We are excited to share @midnightstargazer's work! First fics in the collection!
I'm super excited for the @ladiesofhpfest, and I can't wait to share with what I've been working on with y'all! Here are some sneak peeks at what I've got planned for each theme:
Mothers and Daughters
There will hopefully be two fics, a (mostly) fluffy one about Astoria raising Scorpius and a very angsty one about Barty Crouch Jr.'s mother and her decision to take his place in Azkaban. The Mrs. Crouch one is still a WIP - I only got the idea a few days ago - but hopefully it will be ready in time.
Senior Sweethearts
Come join me in an AU where a few things go differently in DH and, as a result, Andromeda gets to grow old surrounded by her loved ones. Also featuring a very sweet friendship between Andromeda and Astoria.
Out and Proud
For last year's fest I broke Emmeline Vance's heart in a fic titled Midnight Rain. This year, she meets Hestia Jones and gets another chance at love and happiness.
Women of the House of Black
For this theme, I'm exploring one of my favorite headcanons: that Iola Black, who was disowned for marrying a Muggle several generations ago, was never forgotten by the women of the family, and her story was passed down as a cautionary tale.
Character Chic
A character sketch of Marietta Edgecombe. What sort of person is she? Why did she betray the D.A.? How does she move on with her life with broken trust, gaps in her memory, and a mistake she made at sixteen permanently scarred onto her face?
Marauders Era Misses
I've been promising an Emmeline-centric first war fic for a while, and it's finally on its way! Despite being a very background character in canon, she's someone I have a lot of headcanons about - and here, I'll be delving into aspects of her story that I've alluded to but didn't fully explore in other fics, especially Midnight Rain and To Have Loved and Lost.
Women of Color
An eighth year fic starring Padma Patil, who returns to Hogwarts after the battle to finish her education and figure out what comes next. How do you go back to your ordinary life after a year like the one she and her peers have just been through?
Rebels and Renegades
The fic version of this Tumblr post: Dorcas Meadowes and Marlene McKinnon as Riddle Era women who remember Voldemort from their school days and are among the first to join the Order of the Phoenix. This is still very much a WIP and will probably be the longest fic I write for the fest - but luckily, the theme isn't until August, so I've still got plenty of time!
Next Gen Girlies
This was actually the first one I wrote for this summer's fest, featuring Molly and Lucy Weasley. The two sisters are very different people, but they love and support each other nevertheless. It's also yet another excuse for me to delve into the topic of squibs, which apparently I just can't stay away from.

Looks like our final fic of our Nymphadora Tonks day comes from our fabulous mod, @celestemagnoliathewriter with a little Dora & Ted interaction.
Snippet:
There was an inviting bend around the path that led to a forested area. Dora wanted to go on an adventure, to see what woodland creatures awaited her there. As it was the spring, fawns were being born, and they were simply too cute to miss.
“Dora, wait!”
But Dora pretended not to listen. She pedaled as fast as her legs could take her, finding that when she went fast, she couldn’t feel out of balance. Wind whooshed on either side of her. Her hair flew behind her as a fragrant, flowery scent tickled her nose, just like the honeysuckle and daffodils her mother liked.
It wasn’t like being on a broomstick, but it was close, and better yet, Dora could pedal on her own, without needing her mother or father to keep her from falling. (They said that with her clumsiness they didn’t want to risk the Anti-Falling Charms from failing, but Dora thought that was just a silly excuse to keep her from flying all by herself.)
After an exhilarating twist around a large tree, Dora let the pedals go and grinned as the cool air under the canopy of leaves evaporated the sweat from her brow. She knew she’d be in trouble for going so far and so fast, but it was like she was in an enchanted forest, like the people in her fairytales.

We've got our seventh work! This one's from SnarkyGranger1, a look into HBP-era Tonks. Mind the tags on this one! Snippet and link below!
Dora put the smaller candle down and decided that she wanted to use one of the fatter ones for a better grip. She stripped her shirt and bra off before picking up the other candle. She decided not to watch herself pour it and sat down on the bed.
Dora took a deep breath before slanting her body a little before slowly pouring the hot wax onto her stomach. She hissed in delight as it slowly rolled down her body and hardened. Dora rose from the bed, put the candle down, and gave herself a good look in the mirror. She feasted on the waxy look on her body and enjoyed the feeling of it. The burn. The hardness of it all.
Dora tried to use a towel, but it wasn’t coming off. She had to try something else to get it off her. She placed her hand on a section of the wax and channelled some heat into it, but all it did was make the wax spread some more.

We've got a few more fics to go, just under the wire here for Tonks day! This is our sixth work, a little AU in which Tonks is raised by her aunts, brought to us by Piximera. Snippet and link below!
While she didn’t have parents, she still had family. They weren’t as loving as she believed her parents were, but her aunts showed her affection in their own ways. She knew she had a grandmother, who she met once. The woman looked stern, and so Nymphadora was glad she didn’t see her again. Then there were her aunts, Narcissa and Bellatrix.
In the beginning neither one showed any interest in Nymphadora, she didn’t know how much time passed before she was asked a simple question. It was of course related to her tutoring, but it was still some acknowledgement of her presence. Her aunts were quite different, Narcissa was the proper aunt who thought fun was supposed to be learning useful skills every mother needed to know. Bellatrix on the other hand was the fun aunt, who didn’t care where the limits were, all she cared about was her own desires, and any fool who dared to stop her would quickly regret their decision to stand in her way.

It wasn't Tonks’ first time in this office, but she'd never been here before without the threat of detention looming over her.
She sank into the squashy chair of green velvet and accepted the offer for a cup of tea.
“Milk and sugar,” she said quietly, before she accepted the large teacup with a crumbly piece of shortbread balanced on the saucer.
“Best we get down to business, Miss Tonks. Have you had a chance to have a look through the pamphlets in the common room?”
It was all the fifth years had been able to talk about for days.
Tonks nodded. “I have.”
“And was there anything in particular that interested–”
“I want to be an Auror.”

When Ginny was young she didn’t quite understand the feelings she had whenever she saw Nymphadora. At first, she thought it was because Nymphadora was one of the cool older girls, who didn’t mind letting Ginny hang with them even though she was so much younger.
Nymphadora, or Tonks as she wanted to be called, often came to visit. Not only were their parents close, but she was also in the same year as Charlie at school. When she visited Ginny wanted to follow them around, resulting in Charlie getting annoyed with her, asking her to go bother someone else only to have Tonks tell him to lighten up, that he should be happy he had so many siblings who adored him. Tonks would then take Ginny with them on their small adventures outside of the house, and even if Charlie complained in the beginning, he quickly forgot his annoyance and had a wonderful time, even with Ginny.
Once Charlie finished school Tonks rarely come by, which saddened Ginny in a way she couldn’t fully comprehend at such a young age.

Our third fic is here! This one is from @nena-96, here to deliver a little story about Tonks finding her place! Snippet and link below!
Looking back, Tonks always loved being a Hufflepuff, ever since the moment the sorting hat had first touched her bubblegum pink hair. Even though she had felt extremely nervous that day, Tonks had a feeling that everything would be fine. She refused to close her eyes the entire time the hat was placed on her head. It seemed like a challenge, how long would it take before the hat figures out what house she belongs in.
Thankfully the hat made up its mind, and sorted her into Hufflepuff. The house that represents loyalty and justice. The same house as her dad, which come to think of it, she knew that her dad would most likely tease her mum about this. Thus, making them unbelievably mushy with each other, thank Merlin she wasn't home when she sent that owl home.
To be honest, there was a moment in which the sorting hat wanted to persuade her into Slytherin.

Tonks had always assumed that if she came face-to-face with Sirius Black, they would be enemies facing one another in combat. As she stood there in the entryway to number twelve, Grimmauld Place, her heart was pounding. It was one thing to trust Mad-Eye and Kingsley when they said he was innocent. It was another thing entirely to see him smile and offer his hand for her to shake.
She reached out and accepted it.
“Wotcher,” she said. “So you’re my cousin, huh?”
His lips twitched in an almost-smile, and he shrugged his shoulders.
