Y’all know what I think would make an interesting AU?

If everyone in the 90’s Young Justice was a clone or a “clone”

Canonically we’ve already got two out of the main ten

Conner Kent/Superboy being a “clone” of Superman & Lex Luthor

& Slobo being a clone of Lobo

Two things to note 1) I think it’s kinda boring if all of them have the same backstory so I’ll still try to give them all a reason that they’ve left Cadmus early in life

And 2) If we’re looking at all the various DC works 1 to 1 clones usually have some major issues

For example the other attempts at cloning Superman didn’t work, the DNA was too unstable

And in the DCAU, the Supergirl 1 on 1 clone had the side effect of being mentally connected to Supergirl which made her mentally unstable and Waller purposely avoided going the 1 to 1 route with Terry implying that it was still not a smart route to go down decades later

Therefore every “clone” will still have two “parents”

Let’s start with the other members of the core four

Tim - obviously a clone of Bruce, could add in Selena’s DNA if the scientists want some extra kick or he could still be the son of Janet so that he’s raised in a similar manner (rich kid upbringing) to Bruce

Janet and Jack could be having fertility issues and are given an opportunity to have a child through Cadmus and they just ignore all the weird stuff like rich people tend to do. Maybe they know Tim is Bruce’s clone, maybe they don’t. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Cassie - Diana Prince & Steve Trevor - not only would this give them access to the Amazons/Themyscira but also to a member of military personnel who knows a lot of stuff he probably shouldn’t

If this pairing Helena Sandsmark could be chosen to adopt her specifically so that she has a higher chance of interacting with the Greek gods which activates her powers (I mean Helena is already canonically interacting with them - might not be hard for Cadmus to realize that)

Could also do Diana & Helena Sandsmark, she could be in the same boat as Janet in the earlier scenario and just rolls with all the weird stuff.

Bart - Barry and Iris. Could still have the aging problem and still raised in Virtual Reality just some centuries behind the usual route. Imagine him thinking up the twins names himself - I mean Dawn and Don as twin names SOUND like they came from a kid raised in VR lol. When Barry and Iris later have the twins, they just roll with the names because Bart said them so matter of fact and Cadmus acts like they aren’t surprised that Bart got it right about Iris’s pregnancy.

Maybe they send him to go find Wally through suggestions from the VR so that he can better learn his powers/can become the next Flash and then Wally sends him to Max like in canon.

Now for the others…

Cissie - super easy Bonnie & Ollie. Bonnie as an Olympic-level archer wants her daughter to be the best archer and a hero and so she seeks out Cadmus and asks just straight up asks them for a clone.

Greta - I’m sorry to say is a mystery. She was a failed clone but no one seems to know who her original DNA came from.

Anita - could be a clone of her mother Oshi if Agua killed Oshi before she had Anita. Cadmus could reach out and be like hey Donald Fite it’s not the same as having your wife back but um, we could clone her? Give you a kid? Maybe Agua pushes for it idk

La'gaan - I couldn’t find much about his history prior to him becoming an Atlantis citizen so I imagine Cadmus might have captured his “parents” or maybe it’s someone who works with Orm and wants to send in a spy and though a child would be easier to get in than an adult. When Aquaman makes him a citizen he decides not to betray his confidence.

Ray - cloned from the original Ray and his wife or another golden age hero. Again pretty simple. Cadmus just thought he was neat. They are obsessed with Sun based superheroes after all. Ray is one I could see being locked up in Cadmus until the formation of the team since he was already locked away from the Sun in his origin story.

So at some point I imagine Tim would probably start to unravel things which would lead to similar events to canon (regarding the formation of the team I mean) but I just think it would be interesting since cloning is so prevalent in the DC universe to have an entire team of clones or “clones”

Maybe after distributing the other clones Luthor gets the idea to actually raise Conner himself which is always a fun AU

Plus with all this cloning going on they could potentially have the tools to prevent Slobo’s body from degrading which is a nice bonus

People know that my family has strong connections with the Waynes family.

My father is the account executive of Wayne enterprise and when Bruce Wayne’s have his social galas, guess who the plus me.

Yup little ol me 😏

Mom was out of town on business.

Granted I love hanging out with my bad but I really show up for the hors d’oeuvres and open bar of champagne.

It was a nice evening for my dad and his coworkers to schmooze. Go head daddy! Get that promotion! My tuition needs this lol.

But being his plus one caught a strange guy eye with a skunk bang. Lmao who wears a skunk bang.

He was looking at me for a while that I started getting uncomfortable and started looking for my dad.

I see my dad talking to Barbra, she’s from accounting as well and I started hanging with them. Their conversation consist of numbers and how the quarter gonna look this year. Boring stuff.

Then Bruce Wayne came out of nowhere to interrupt my dad.

It should be a crime how foine this man is. Tall, dark hair and mysteriously good looking. Especially tonight.

I’m gonna take a mental picture and save it for the spank bank later tonight.

“Have you met my son? Jason this is Donald Gruffin. My CFO” said Mr. Wayne,

Skunk hair is his son, hilarious. Why he look so big and awkward. Hopefully he picks up his dad charisma. I mean dad been rizzing me all night.

Skunk hair boy asked for my name too.

He thought it was unique. I shrugged and said my mom wanted to be different I guess.

After that, My dad and Bruce started getting in to numbers. That was my que to get another glass champagne.

As I got my glass I begin to walk around the manor. I’ve been here with my dad before but never really had the courage to explore.

I guess 3 glass of sparkling wine will do that.

I saw that they have a maze in there…backyard? No…I have a backyard these people here have land.

As I was about to enter the maze I feel a hand pull my arm.

“Where do you think you’re going?” I turn around and see…

“Skunk hair?” I blurted out.

“Excuse me?” Jason said offended.

“I mean, sorry…your hair…it’s different.” I exclaimed.

He wasn’t too fazed by your comment.

“I wouldn’t go in there if I was you, people tend to not find they way back…and Alfred gets annoyed when having to do the searching.”

I giggled at what he said.

I asked if he would want to come with me. Jason was a little hesitant.

“Oh come on, I know you know your way. It’s boring in there and I just want a little fun.” I begged.

Jason rolled his eyes and just like that I got my way. Ha ha ha ha, sucker.

I skipped into the maze and Jason just slowly follow.

“ARE THEIR MINOTAURS IN HERE?” I shouted.

“No!” Jason said

“Any mythical beings in here?” You wondered

“No, this is not Alice in wonderland.” Jason sighed as he walked behind you.

We were at a dead end and Jason looked a little worried.

“Let’s head back I hear something,” Jason said

I asked why? He just wanted to leave.

As we turn around the path we took I get started by Alfred pennyworth.

“ why are you children out here,” Alfred asked.

I’m not a child, I’m 20.

“So…underage drinking,” …dang it.

Alfred walked us both back to the gala. My dad was having a blast when they put on the cha cha slide.

He’s so embarrassing.

I didn’t see Jason for the rest of the night. That’s okay.

Donald birthday is coming up and his oldest son is trying to plan something. And I guess Donald told him I need to be apart of it (which I don’t lol). Anyway me and the oldest just don’t get along because he sees me and Donald for what we are. He knows his dad is a trick and he doesn’t like it.

But anyway his problem not mine. He wants to do something out of state and it’s kind of last minute for me to be traveling. My company fiscal year is ending. That means lots of paperwork on my end. I have an audit coming up, it’s just too last moment.

And he got smart, we’re talking on the phone, and he says something like “all the stuff my dad does for you, it’s the least you can do.” And he gagged me for a second cuz I didn’t think he had the balls but apparently they finally dropped, congratulations.

If I told Donald I wanted his birthday to be at chuckie cheese he would show up with bells on.

I genuinely want Donald to have a great birthday.

I’m not going back to Philly, I’m not going back to Lake Tahoe, if it ain’t in Atlanta count me the fuck out.

Me and him can do our own thing later.

Many thanks to my friend rinku for helping to translate it into English! The following is mm&f's AU, I don't know if you will like… !

All kinds of things that happen to Mickey Mouse and friends in a modern city.

Characters Mickey -- criminal police Donald -- criminal police Pete -- criminal police Goofy -- security police Minnie -- security police Daisy -- head of CIB Felix -- warden Flip -- medical examiner Clarabelle -- reporter of a well-known newspaper Horace -- employee of a well-known newspaper Boxer -- an employee of an unimportant company

Mickey: He is mildly anxious about his job, but genuinely enjoys working. Although sometimes he tends to be irritable and emotional, Mickey is usually a gentle, mature and humorous to his friends and colleagues (especially to the new security officer Minnie). Mickey dislikes Pete and often turns a cold shoulder on him. He is a seasoned and fair criminal police. Sometimes Mickey treats criminals ruthlessly. Goofy and Donald are his best friends. Mickey and Donald are partners. Mickey will often calm him down to prevent him from behaving too aggressively. Donald is still solid to Mickey, and so is Goofy. Mickey had a good impression of Minnie when he first met her. When Minnie slapped Pete, Mickey's crush on Minnie went up by leaps and bounds. He's single. (This is mocked by his friends)

Donald: Donald is usually a bit laid-back, but he takes the job very seriously. He often tends to let his bad mood show and he knows it, but he couldn't control his emotions easily. Mickey and Daisy are the best ones to calm him down. Probably because of the stress, Donald Duck is recently asked to stop doing interrogations (the job is shared by others). He usually makes fun of Mickey and Goofy. The person he hates the most is Pete, and so far there was no one else that Donald wants to kick in the ass every time he sees him. Donald and Daisy have confirmed their relationship. They sometimes acts like two life coaches to help Mickey pursue love. LOL

Goofy: The tallest of the trio. Because he and Mickey and donald don't work in the same department, they don't see each other much during work hours, but they do get together occasionally. Goofy is usually careless, but he's sensitive in his work. He's the father of a single-parent family has a son named Max, who is studying in primary school. Influenced by Goofy, Max is very interested in police officer and often asks Goofy questions eagerly. Mickey or Donald would sometimes pick up Max from school for Goofy, and Max would talk to them until he got home.

Pete: One of the old-timers of the department. He stays in the department to this day by taking credit for someone else's work. No one likes talking to him, so he takes it out on Mickey, who seems to be easy to bully. Although he always ends up getting beaten up. Pete has a son named Pete Jr. PJ and Max are close friends, so the two fathers are friendly with each other. But Goofy still doesn't like Pete as his co-worker.

Minnie: A lively girl with strong motivation and efficiency. Minnie is a new guy in the security department from out of town. Daisy and her have been friends for years. The three people who she gets along best in the office are Daisy, Goofy and Mickey. When she just joined the police department, Mickey introduced himself to her and showed her around. She was impressed with Mickey even then. Goofy is the elder co-worker in Minnie's department and the two often talk friendly. She'll ask Goofy about Mickey sometimes.

Daisy: One of the police department's old timers. (She got her job early, which means she's still young now.) The head of the CIB [Criminal Intelligence Bureau]. She's very smart and good at work. I mean, She's dating Donald but it doesn't affect her work efficiency at all. Minnie's best friend. Sometimes Daisy's a little mean to her friends, but her heart is soft. She genuinely loves her friends.

Clarabelle, Horace: The couple whose reports are authentic work for a high-profile newspaper. They have connections to Mickey's police department. Earlier, the last managing editor didn't like them. After a big change of the newspaper, they gradually became more and more important in the newspaper office. Most of Clarabelle's impressions of Mickey and Donald come from Minnie and Daisy. She has only met Mickey a few times.

Boxer: Boxer regrets that he didn't forcibly pull Julius to work in the company where he worked, although he's no longer in contact with the other party for ever. (because Julius cut him off)

Max: Goofy's son, who's still in primary school. PJ's classmate. When Goofy's busy, Mickey or Donald take turns picking up Max and PJ after school. He is sensible and would ask some questions about police eagerly out of personal curiosity.

PJ: Pete's son, who's still in primary school. Max's classmate. Most of the time he went home from school with Max (Pete was rarely home). PJ didn't know anything about Pete's suicide on that day. Goofy made an excuse to take him back to his house for a night and only told him the next day. PJ then lived with his relatives. PJ doesn't know what his father did.

Felix: One of the old-timers of the department. A corporate slave, but very honest. Sometimes he would walk around the prison in his spare time and talk to inmates who seemed to be easy to talk to.

Flip: Same as Minnie, he was also transferred from another area, but Flip is a medical examiner. He looks like a little guy, but actually works very well and is quite mature

Huey, Dewey and Louie: Donald's nephews. Della looks after them. Their uncle Donald is very busy, so they will only go to Donald's house on their days off… …And piss him off. Most of the time they have to finish their homework first.

Other characters Oswald (intentional homicide) Julius (larceny)

Oswald: A serial killer. According to Mickey's investigation, his motive is a wrongful conviction several years ago and he killed for revenge. Oswald's parents disappeared a long time ago and Oswald had to stay with relatives. He moved out and lived alone soon after he became an adult. He worked in a convenience store during the day and often chatted with Mickey at night before Mickey realized his crime. He would wear a blue hoodie, a hoodie cap to cover his ears, and a mask to cover his face. Oswald usually pretends to be careless, but actually thinks logically and carefully. He did not have much courage to kill for the first time, and he was inexperienced. Out of an abundance of caution, Oswald did not directly use knife to kill his enemies, though he took one. But Oswald used it on the dead body of his first victim in order to vent his anger. Then he kills people with a knife all the time.

Julius: A thief, and he's good at running away (!) Julius has been in the news lately for stealing jewelry. He has a criminal record of kidnapping children. He steals only because he doesn't want to work. Julius was always asking for trouble, and he never tired of it. He is impatient, but Mickey is even more impatient. Every time he was about to be arrested, he fought with Mickey and other policemen and was finally caught. Julius once knew Oswald from television.

summary part1 A few years ago, when Mickey was walking by the alley, he saw Pete and some of Pete's friends groping a female cat. There was a dead rabbit lying next to them. Out of fear, Mickey didn't stop him. A few days later, Mickey sees the news that the rabbit has died and the killer is identified as the female cat in the alley. Mickey knows Pete did it. Thinking of his position of weakness and Pete's power, Mickey didn't report what he saw. A few years later, the chief of the police station changed, the atmosphere in the station was reformed, and a serious and responsible policeman like Mickey had a position in the station. With a raise in his salary, Mickey left the house he used to live in and moved into an apartment near the center of town. Mickey got to know a neighbor at his new house, Oswald. And they soon became friends. One day, Mickey takes on a new case--a serial murder. Most of the victims were friends of Pete's. This causes Pete, who was originally a troublemaker, to become extremely fearful and be afraid of getting into trouble. Then Pete kills himself out of fear. This reminds Mickey of an incident from a few years ago, which leads Mickey to blame himself. Oswald realized that Mickey was not in a good mood, so he took him out to drink and relax in the evening. Mickey told oswald what happened a few years ago before they go back. Oswald cooled off to Mickey after this. After investigation, the police found the real killer, Oswald. When he was overtaken and about to be arrested, Oswald tried to die with Mickey. He failed and Mickey gots rescued by his co-workers at the last minute. But Oswald managed to flee. Nothing more has been heard of him since. Mickey decided to tell the truth about the miscarriage of justice several years ago.

part2 Julius, a black cat, has been carrying out a series of unabashed crimes since the year before. He even broke into jewelry stores this year. Mickey's report: When we got to the scene, there were only a dozen necklaces left in the store. The stolen jewels fell along Julius's escape route. We followed the fallen jewels to his lair and beat Julius, but he managed to escape. Julius's serial theft case was initially handled by other policemen, but they never caught him. The police suspect that the recent disappearance case is related to Julius because of his previous record of kidnapping. Later, the superior handed over the handling of the serial killings to Mickey. After the case was closed, Daisy noticed that one of the victims, Mortimer, was one of the fugitives when she checking the information of the serial killings. It is estimated that Peter has been shielding him for so long. Mortimer's hidden crime was to kill a married couple (who had a child). After the police investigated the files of the past, the dead couple were found to be related to oswald by blood, and their bodies, like Mortimer and the other victims of the serial killings, had same drug ingredients. After investigating Mortimer's mobile phone, the police found that there was a cult group, Vessels, behind this incident. (Vessels: A cult that held a large-scale criminal activity to kill and sacrifice people. The cult's activities have been going on for decades. They held a sacrifice activity more than ten years ago. Because of the scale, the activity was exposed, and most of the people were arrested and sentenced by the police. Vessels temporarily suspended criminal activities for a period of time.) This matter is left to Mickey. The case related to Julius was transferred to Donald. After some investigation, the police found that Julius had contacted Vessels. Mickey asked his superiors to hand Julius over to him. When Julius committed another crime and entered the detention center, Mickey immediately rushed up and slapped him to interrogate him. Julius told Mickey impatiently that he did not know the cult. Soon, he escaped again. The police sent people to pretend that members of the cult had sneaked into Vessels' lair, and learned that a new round of sacrifice would begin on the third day. Mickey hurriedly ran back to the bureau to report in the middle of the night and asked all the police under his command to be ready for the assault on the third day. On the third day, Mickey infiltrated Vessels again and contacted the external police. Because his performance seemed too deliberate, Mickey was caught by internal personnel at a critical moment. Julius suddenly appeared and save him. At the same time, the police intervened, and the members of Vessels started a scuffle with the police. Julius gave a little girl to Mickey to let them escape, and then deliberately created a fire, which caused panic among the members of Vessels, but he was burned to death. In the end, a small number of Vessels members were injured or killed, and the rest were arrested and put into prison waiting for trial. After everything was over, Mickey went through the formalities for the little girl named Alice to stay in the orphanage according to the requirements of Julius. supplements Oswald： 1.The little rabbit that died in the alley a few years ago was his child, while his wife was the female cat that was later deliberately identified as the murderer. 2.His motive for killing is not only revenge for his wife and child, but also revenge for his parents who were cheated and sacrificed. 3.Oswald investigated the truth by himself before he began to kill.

Julius: 1. He worked for Vessels a long time ago, helping to take care of the children who would be sacrificed soon (just for money). 2. The source of his criminal record of kidnapping children: More than ten years ago, Julius locked the children in his home on the day of sacrifice because he couldn't stand the criminal activities of Vessels. Soon, he was slandered by the evil cult remnant party and released after several years in prison (then he began to steal things). 3. In part2, The little girl named Alice was a sacrifice saved by Julius when he was going to bomb the headquarters of Vessels. 4. Julius was burned voluntarily.

Mickey: 1. In part2, he once fell into a low ebb (even psychological problems). It was Goofy, Donald and Minnie who dragged him out to eat to relax. 2. This state also existed in part1, but it's Oswald took him to release it.

Della Duck Tickle Headcanons

- devious ler

- she doesn't strike me as someone who likes being tickled idk

- is so good at ambushing people, you'd never know she was going to tickle you until it was too late

- laughs with the lee, but like not like that; she MANIACALLY laughs like a corny supervillain

- thought up so many tickle games to play with her sons while she was on the moon. most of them, the boys were too old for. but not all of them! she and the triplets play all sorts of tickle monster games (which Louie claims he's too old for mhm sure buddy whatever you say)

- she tickles dewey the most bc he makes it so obvious he wants it. dude grew up motherless and now she's here, he needs some physical displays of love and assurance STAT

- teases by calling herself the tickle monster and pretending to gobble up her victims. she goes into these dramatic monologues about how she feeds on the laughter of the innocent yada yada and that just makes the lee laugh even harder because of how silly it is

- grew up getting into intense tickle wars with donald, so she knows how to push his buttons. she starts telling the boys how to wreck their uncle donald and the duck in question tries to shut her up any way he can but it's no use. the triplets make very good use of their mom's intel lol

- della can say the t-word with no issue

- tickles with pokes, squeezes, and scribbles. not a gentle tickler

- can almost (and I do say ALMOST) get too carried away tickling someone but in a couple seconds after she snaps out of her tickle-monster phase, she pulls back immediately

- advocates strongly for personal boundaries with her kids. if they don't like something, she won't do it, simple as that

- louie and huey's protests die quickly on their tongues because inside, they really do want the tickles (especially louie). it makes them feel closer to the mom they never had

- the BEST at raspberries

- finishes up tickle fights with her boys with a long cuddle session, complete with kisses and hugs 🩷

just a headcanon question for you for some deep thoughts, have you ever thought about what happened to sora's parents whether or not they're alive after the events of the first game?

Interesting that you ask this, because this is something I want to explore more and part of the reason I reblogged this meme! I'd like to develop Sora's parents into fully fleshed, named (mayyyybe designed?) OCs / guest muses on the blog at some point, but for now, have me projecting the thoughts that have been knocking around in my brain, in glorious word soup form.

Putting this under a cut because WOWIE it got really long, sorry about that!

We're working with crumbs here, but based one one line of dialogue for each parent, his mother was attentive to Sora's needs and could tell when things were wrong (yes I'm extracting this from "Sora, dinner's ready,") and his father was present enough in his life that he was rowing Sora and Riku to the play island as kids.

So, honestly...I feel like Sora's family is about what one would expect of a happy, healthy family. Mom and Dad in a happy marriage, well enough off to support one kid, loving and doting parents. Nothing really remarkable. The Aono family is just about as standard as standard can get.

And then, y'know, KH1 happened.

Here's what we know:

Destroyed worlds show up in the Realm of Darkness.

Some of a world's denizens are scattered to worlds in the Realm Between, like Traverse Town.

Someone who becomes a Heartless (+optionally, Nobody, if their heart is strong enough) and is then defeated goes to where it originally happened in order to be recompleted (or their heart/body dissolves to darkness to wait for the other component to be freed).

If the world where it originally happened isn't available, they go to a world like Traverse Town.

Selphie, Wakka, and Tidus are all alive and well after KH1, albeit with no memory of Sora.

Knowing ALL OF THIS, I think Sora's parents are alive and well, and may even potentially have some knowledge about their son's world-hopping adventures. It's possible that they appeared in Traverse Town at one point, but we never see them there (this is probably just on account of the game not deeming it necessary, but it's interesting to consider from an in-universe standpoint...). So, I think one of a few things could have happened:

After the Islands were destroyed, Sora's parents ended up in Traverse Town, perhaps in one of the districts that aren't accessible until DDD.

Sora's parents fell with the Islands and were sort of suspended in "sleep" for as long as the Islands were in the Realm of Darkness. They awoke to little to no memory of the Islands' destruction. I imagine something like this probably happens to most whose worlds get destroyed, or there'd be no order to preserve.

Sora's parents were defeated by and subsequently became Heartless during the destruction of the Islands. At some point, Sora defeated their Heartless (knowingly? Unknowingly? Shit, I didn't think about the angsty implications) and freed their hearts for eventual restoration, either in Traverse Town or on the Islands once they were restored. If I were to go with this, the degree to which they remember it all could be up in the air.

One thing I'm pretty settled on (primarily just because I love the angst of this trope, sue me) is that they were alive during KH2, and like Kairi, had only very faint memories of Sora, and even those were starting to fade. But they knew that they were missing something very important. There was an ache in their hearts, a hole whose shape was painfully familiar and yet they couldn't put a name to it...

By the end of KH2, Sora has probably come clean to them about the world-hopping stuff, if they didn't already remember their experiences during KH1. Donald probably objects to this. Sora loves his parents and trusts them to keep his secrets, so lol.

That's kinda all I've got right now and I'd love to flesh them out more / solidify their stories through the meme I reblogged! I'm not 100% married to any of these ideas just yet, but I love piecing things together like this based on teeny tiny lines we get in canon.

Finally, I want to shoutout this artist, who made it excruciatingly difficult to not just steal Eimi (/j) for the blog canon. Seriously, this woman imprinted herself on my brain and now is inextricably tied to the idea of Sora's mother for me, but I'm taking that energy and putting it towards a stab at my own interpretation! Just wanted to shout them out because I love their take on her.

the good wife au — this is part of a fic that is five snippets out of five AUs:

Margaret had committed to avoiding Frank on her first day at Blake/Burns; of course, she’d already been late, no thanks to the maze of a building. Blake/Burns’ office housed well-dressed cubicles and offices and conference rooms with glass paneling, clean edged and effortlessly professional. There were printers in the background; the air smelled like cut wood. Luckily, Frank had been nowhere to be seen, but neither were the bulk of the attorneys; she'd been informed by a harried looking paralegal with an askew tie that everyone had been gathered for the morning meeting.

“As in …”

“Assigning cases, ma’am,” the paralegal — “Walter, but no one calls me that,” he’d introduced himself later — said, taking off his round glasses, sticking them in his shirt pocket.. “And no offense, but you’re late.”

“None taken,” Margaret had said, dry; she’d retained some of it back since everything blew up with Donald. Donald, who was currently in a jail cell because he couldn’t keep his damn pants zipped, who was out on his ass from the State’s Attorney’s office. Margaret wanted to say she wasn’t surprised, but the ice cold shock of seeing the news cycle blare his indiscretions, of being peeled open in front of a camera — deferential, waiting like a marionette — had been like a new wound. The number from the divorce attorney is saved on her phone. She’d only dared to call much, much later, after Donald had gotten out and been reelected — which made her teeth hurt — after Frank had been ousted and Blake/Burns became Blake/Rayburn, then Rayburn/Potter after Henry had died and Lil refused to bring Frank back in the fold. And after all that, Peg got her a drink. margaret-centric post-war fic

Her father doesn’t dismiss her in the end, when she sits at the grand oak table in the house of the last two years of her adolescence — her father kept it in the divorce — and says she’s resigned her commission. Margaret expects an answer, but he stares at her balefully over his cigar and says nothing. It resembles the expressions of the first days he visited the 4077 much too closely, where Margaret was desperate to please, desperate for something from him that wasn’t dull with expectancy for the son she never was. She still remembers the single golden moment of reveling in his pride, catching it in her arms like a wriggling fish, holding it close.

When Margaret leaves under the iron-wrought gaze of his disappointment, she tells herself none of it matters. She walks the cobbled path of the house to the car, ignoring how her hands shake. Her hands never shook when there was artillery fire and bombs dropping; it’s irrational, she tells herself as she gets in the car. She can’t start it. Margaret stares out the dashboard to the hairpin curve of the cul-de-sac, the lawns with their lustrous, manicured flowers and blazing green grass, the sun, high in the blue. She buries any uncertainty in a lockbox deep down but can’t throw away the key.

It's a two-fer sundae.... Frustrated doesn't begin to describe how I feel as I delve into how best to provide support. Specifically the poor people of Afghanistan are going to be facing a winter which is freezing cold. So cold that everyone leaves that can afford to. They also happen to be a major producer of coal. But that coal is being mined and sold to Pakistan to fund the economy of the Taliban. So what the fuck? I wish I could begin to understand the relationship of the United States CIA and the Taliban, but I can't. Mostly due to the limited information available. However, it is most definite that the Taliban was created trained funded and provided for by the United States through the CIA during the '80s and '90s to fight Russia. Therefore we can only assume that although the current leaders may not necessarily report to a United States representative, there should still be some degree of communication through back channels. I guess this is more than anything a request of those back channel avenues to see the need of the local indigenous people and prioritize it. If the people are going to starve at least don't make them freeze while they do so. Even though actually, freezing would be an asset for the starvation because you would be cold and tired and also tired and lethargic from starvation, therefore fall asleep and die more quickly although miserably. Can we get these people there fucking coal. Can they have some rice India? The only reason I'm posting again is cuz I got to India is the biggest exporter of rice but their own farmers are selling their kidneys and children because they can't afford the taxes and levies on the farms if there's a bad season. It's corruption everywhere. It doesn't matter where you look, what country, what religion, what economy. It's corruption. And it rules. And so right now innocent unaware maybe ignorant children and people Will die suffering because other people want to sit on a golden toilet and have one person hold their balls while another person wipes their ass. Believe it or not although you're entering into my reflections because your father's president, you don't actually represent any significant factor in my thoughts in my day-to-day life. I never bought a maga hats Donald Trump's just a different finger puppet on one of the many hands that actually pull the levers and strings that make the children I'm upset about starving starve, and the greedy richest son of a bitches have more than they need without care for others.

So, in conclusion, India, please help your own people, then help Afghanistan, because otherwise Pakistan is going to take over Afghanistan and do you really want Pakistan to be as big as India? That's the real fucking question here? Geopolitics motherfucker. Stop hating your Muslim population absorb Afghanistan through kindness and trade and investment. Maybe not absorb, but form a diplomatic unity based off of something Muslims and hindu's have in common, a value of life, kindness, and peace.

💐Gordon and Henry getting married lol💐

💐They got married two years after Edward and James.

💐 Gordon proposed. He talked about it with Edward and James. While the former gave him advice and made him understood that he should respect Henry's answer, the latter said “Aw, now I owe Thomas fifty pounds. Thanks, Gordie ”. Gordon blushed and Edward hissed at him and scolded him for making bets with a twenty-year-old who is also his step-son. Gordon should have asked Toby and Henrietta instead.

💐One day, Henry took his boyfriend to a small forest near their shared house. They were sharing a picnic when, soon out of nowhere, Gordon stood up and walked to a big bush. Henry wondered why he was nearly screaming to a bunch of leaves, albeit when he turned back, there were Thomas and Percy holding a banner that had written “Will you spend the rest of your life with your dork?”. Henry almost fainted. He turned back again and saw Gordon on one knee with James on his right and smirking. Henry f*cking cried. Everyone knew he had said yes.

💐Much to Gordon's dismay but also little joy, the Flying Scotsman arrived to Sodor a week after the proposal, affirming that there was no way he wasn't going to be part of his little brother's wedding (“FFS, SCOTT! I'M OLDER THAN YOU!”). Dowager Hatt also joined with the organisation of the reception.

💐Now, Gordon and Henry did not want to invite Spencer. The former's cousin had already had a bad relationship with them. Also, less than two months before, they witnessed him making a comment about Percy and then Rosie and Emily holding Thomas so he could not behead him, and James punching him straight to the face after making a joke about Edward's age. However, Toby (bless him even though Spencer also treated him badly) convinced them of giving him a second chance (all of them might regret it later).

💐Their wedding was even more chaotic than James and Edward's, to say the least.

💐They got married by the law. Percy, Emily, Toby, Henrietta, James, Thomas, Hiro, Spencer, Edward, Duck, Donald, Douglas, Flying Scotsman, Nia and Rebecca (because I started to like them but not as Edward and Henry's replacement, but as new members of their group of friends) joined them at the notary.

💐They usually thought doing a simple reception. They thought wrong.

💐No one knows how or why did Sir Topham Hatt ended up on the roof dancing.

💐Percy, Emily, Philip Rosie, Nia, Bill, Ben and Kevin organised a choreography that left BoCo with a purple eye thanks to a flying heel.

💐A really drunk Spencer tried to kiss a equally lost James. If it wasn't for a sleepy Thomas over his lap and a already passed out Rebecca whose head was resting on his shoulder, Edward would have committed a crime. In the end, it was Lady that avoided a terrible ending to the night.

💐Scott made a video with Gordon's baby pictures and recordings and showed it to Henry, who was having a hard time by trying to not laugh at his husband.

💐Victor had to listen a sudden-anxious Gordon about “What if Henry wants kids and I don't?; What if I like surrogacy and he prefers adoption?; What if I want a cat and suddenly he's allergic to them?; WHAT IF HE WANTS A CREPE FOR BREAKFAST AND REALISES THAT I DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO MAKE CEREAL WITH MILK!? HELP ME VICTOR! I DON'T KNOW HOW TO BE A HUSBAND!”. And poor ol' Victor is about to take his fifth wine glass.

💐The Scottish twins almost threw Duck out of a window for no reason.

💐And Dowager Hatt and Hiro were the only sane ones during the wedding. They even shared their secrets for making excellent tea.

Who, I think, was way too just Unconvincing a character in many ways for me to really ‘ship’ them. And yet, I thought the writers handled a real, canonical Thomas romance pretty well! They can be hot-blooded and competitive as well as wholesome, Ashima is long-distance and just-out-of-reach, and, most of all, I absolutely believe that the way Thomas would react to a crush is to behave like a total jerk-faced dumbass! So yeah, I think Jinty in RWS and Ashima in TVS are just bizarre astral twins, lol.)

Interesting But Fence 👀:

Oliver! (I don’t know why it should work, but damn they look good together—) Arthur—another pretty classic opposite-attracts dynamic but hey. i also like how they would invert the usual “red oni blue oni” thematic coloring.

Emily—It sounds so stupid (pair the opposite-gender leads!!!!) but they do have some HiT episodes that are just👌 as far as a strong and charged dynamic. An endlessly intriguing if somewhat problematic ship.

Duck—They just have such a cool yin/yang thing going on that you would think it’s possible (tho I admit the chemistry doesn’t exactly jump off the page)

Gordon—With the actual build-date-accurate dynamics, a reinterpretation of their history would be interesting. convincing? who knows, until someone tries it. but interesting, definitely.

James—I’ve said it several times now, but in RWS timeline I absolutely believe Thomas and James had an ill-fated Thing in the early days. And, tbh, I could be open to them re-uniting again after decades of personal growth (and loneliness? since i can see so many of the others pairing off and settling down for good)

Trevor?—Thomas’s unexpected Depth early in the TVS timeline at the end of their episode certainly… gives one something to work with, ya know? I also like the little fission at their first meeting (‘a wut’) but how quickly they get on. Bonus: Trevor already met and got the blessing of all the parents that very day. So, you know, just create some sequel dates between them from there.

Better As Friends 😊: I guess Annie & Clarabel?

HOWEVER…

okay, real talk—and ya gotta scrub the “aunties” voice actors out of your brain completely here—but I feel like the notion of Thomas/Annie/Clarabel just has yet to be fully explored

Meh 😑 / Overrated : Percy. The more I think about it, the more I’m not actually opposed to it? (Now that flirt!Percy lives in my head rent-free.) But more if one plays fast and loose with canon. Their “big brother/little brother” dynamic, especially by the time we get to CGI, I find gets into NOTP territory real quick.
