Do you have any random headcanons for the ballet au?

oh boyyy @vexederolo and I have been talk about some non-stop this morning lmaoo so here are some of our ideas (mostly Sharon's because she's brilliant) as well as some random shit from me lmaoo

The briarwoods are the owner's of Percy's previous company and kept an eye on all the younger dancers and noticed potential on Percy and Cassandra right away but thought then needed more focus and their family was just a distraction, holding them back from being the best performers and dancers they could be

Anna Ripley was Percy's previous mentor and Percy had a bit of a crush on her which is why he ignored her abusive behavior and continued to try to impress her for even the slightest bit of praise.

Eventually, Cassandra joins the company and Vex goes mom mode because she's so young and so scared being in a new place and a new company so she takes Cass under her wing and does what she did when she met Percy, takes her out for dinner and checks in on her between rehearsals and things like that

Allura is their ballet mistress who used to be a prima ballerina and is now happy to shepherd on the next generation and make sure that they all take care of themselves. And she checks in on Percy and Cassandra a lot to make sure that they're doing okay.

And Kima is a frequent guest at their rehearsals when Allura wants an outside perspective and she doesn't really understand ballet but Allura loves it so she does too and gives her her two cents

Also Gilmore is the costume designer (and gives Vax extra slutty costumes)

Pike is the resident physical therapist and Vax got her the job when she graduated college and she loves it because she gets to work in the same building as her friends and gets to tell them off when they injure themselves again

Keyleth always gets jittery during tech rehearsals so Vax tries to do nice things for her on those days, buying her favorite snacks, giving her back rubs, and he always carries lavender essential oil on him because Keyleth swears it helps calm her down and she is always running out of it

One time Scanlan spiked the water cooler in the green room and it ended with Keyleth throwing up on stage and them having to call rehearsal for the day (Keyleth still hasn't forgiven him and neither has Vax because she threw up on him)

Vex hates doing stage kisses with Percy because he's always so sweaty and smelly on stage and she always tells him as much when they get into the wings.

Cassandra sometimes has difficulty eating during rehearsals and taking care of herself so either Percy or Vex will take her out of the room and sit with her on the stairs so she can eat without anyone watching her and also keep her company so she doesn't get too in her head about it

That's how Vex learns that Cassandra's dream role is Giselle and even though Cassandra is one of the younger dancers and she's a soloist not a principal, Vex makes sure that Cassandra gets that role when the company announces that they're doing it.

Fictober Day 18: “You should have seen it.”

In which Inquisitor Cadash gets ready to run interference for her mischievous girlfriend.

Malika Cadash followed the sound of laughter out to the stables, where she found Sera regaling Warden Blackwall with the tale of her latest practical joke. “Oi, Inky-love, you got here just in time. I was just gettin’ to the good part.”

The Inquisitor’s stern look was ruined by the fond gleam in her eye; she could never stay mad at her favorite elf, no matter how many times she got treated to rants from Sera’s many victims. And really, she was careful—mostly—so that no one was wounded in anything but their dignity. “Dare I ask what you did this time, my insane darling?”

Blackwall chuckled. “Oh, I think you’d better. You’ll want to be prepared for the earful you’ll get about this one. It was right clever, I’ll give her that, but Cullen is going to want her head on a pike when he catches her.”

“Of course it would be Cullen. Ancestors, Sera; you couldn’t pick somebody else for a change?”

“Not my fault General Uptight lives up his own arse. He’d be more fun if he took off those jackboots now and again, yeah?” Sera brushed her choppy blond hair from her eyes with an unrepentant smirk.

Cadash raised an eyebrow. “So what did you do?”

The elf’s eyes widened with excitement. “So you know that beehive Mother Giselle was complaining about, said it needed to be moved, the bees were scarin’ the nobles?” She snorted. “Stupid gits; dump a gallon of flower perfume on yourself, it’s gonna draw bees, innit?”

“Sera. You’re stalling.”

Sera stuck her tongue out. And then, because she was herself, she made a vee with her fingers and held them up to her mouth before sticking her tongue out a second time, wiggling her eyebrows suggestively before dissolving into laughter. “Okay, fine, fine, you win, Inkypoo. I decided to help Giselle by getting rid of that beehive for her, out of the pure goodness of my heart.”

“And what does this have to do with Cullen?” The dwarf’s stomach sank; with a setup like that, this was headed nowhere good.

“Every day after lunch, he uses that same practice dummy in the yard, yeah? I might have improved it.”

The Inquisitor’s jaw dropped. “You didn’t.”

She grinned. “Did. You should have seen it! He was all ‘Rawr, look at me wave my big manly sword around, AAGGH BEES!!’” She collapsed into helpless giggles again. Blackwall joined her, and after a moment, even Malika had to giggle, imagining Cullen running away from the practice yard to escape a swarm. Granted, it was a little more dangerous than Sera’s usual pranks, but Cullen was a lifelong warrior; a bee sting or two would be less pain than he got in an average sparring session, and it was nothing that wouldn’t be righted with a little elfroot.

Their mirth was cut off by Cullen’s enraged yell from outside the stable. “SERA!!”

The elf and the dwarf exchanged a panicked glance, and dove behind some hay bales, hoping Blackwall was good enough at acting innocent to fool Cullen.
