Fakemon sketches I don't intent on doing digitally images and lore under read more

Fake ghost type bat Pokemon, they start off as baby bat's naturally they float around all wrapped up in their wings like babies bundles up in a blanket and I imagine their noses are brightly colored almost looking like a binky/dummy that bundled babies usually are seen with. They're also meant to be orphaned bat's as they're often seen swaddled in blankets and suckling on a dummy for security. Presumably they're the reborn spirits of Zubat/Woobat ect or even Golbats who ate too much blood and got predated on themselves. When approaching someone they will open their wings to spook them with their eye patterns because as babies/kids and well ghosts they think it's funny and likely passively absorb life force via the scare to keep themselves going.

Baby bat evolves into troubled teen bat naturally. Its not on these sketches but I did add a little baby tuft of hair to explain this next appearance.

They're now significantly more roughed up, other pokemon and people didn't appreciate being scared and the child not knowing better became attacked frequently resulting in a traumatised aggressive teenager. Their wings are meant to represent like delinquent collars/jackets and their chest fluff the white shirt visible underneath. They have grown out rebellious hair and a claw for rude gesturing and eyeliner. But despite their tough appearance and behaviour they're a quite sad Pokemon they don't understand why people treated them that way they're alone and scared and hurt and angry, hence the miserable wet bat in the rain.

Now this line probably like Zubat can only reach its final stage via human intervention/care, and the final sketch isn't finalised but I'll likely never go back to it so here they are troubled teen to caring parent

My thought process is when with a human trainer who cares about them and loves them a lot the human would try to help fix and heal their Pokemons damaged wings and basically they go from a blanket baby, ripped fabric teenager to quilted bat adult. Their wings have been stitched up into big cushiony soft duvets, and they've probably honestly gotten a new plush body that they've possessed/joined to making them Ghost/Fairy because like blankets feel fairy type to me so it's a big soft plush blanket bat who wraps up little babies in her wings and cooes and kisses them with the old eye pattern being used on her belly pouch the menacing eye replaced with a heart as she's full of love or something. Wholesome like arc keeping part of her past self and fabric while becoming something new. Basically orphaned to troubled teen to plush mommy pipeline. There was gonna be an alternative design take where they probably become Ghost/dark and fully embrace the dark edgy teen and probably possess leather to become harder to damage maybe ghost/dragon like thick dragon hide leather so orphan to troubled teen to leather daddy pipeline. Basically ya either get a soft quilted parent or a leather hided beast and like I want both thanks unfortunately no leather bat design as I didn't do it the inspiration died. In game you probably need to use like needle and thread item on ur teen bat to turn them into duvet soft blanket evo and probably some kind of leather item for the leather beast form.

I was thinking about how Foongus and Amoongus were "There's a fungus among us" so why not add some more?

'Snug as a Bug in a rug'

Obviously needs to be a bug type. Obviously, the whole line doesn't have to do with sleeping. But imagine the bug was based off a tent moth or something, and the middle evo could be lime a cocoon, but the cocoon was a literal tent. (I looked it up and that's already a fakemon bt Brian12 on Deviantart and that makes me very happy) But since that already exists, it could be moon based or lamped based them, with the middle one being a sleepy bug.

'Sleep Tight, don't let the Bed Bugs bite'

Actually, this could be a combo of the one above. The caterpillar stage could be the Snug bug in a rug, where the pokemon wraps itself in a cozy silk blanket, the middle evo could be fully engulfed in a bed like cocoon where it's 'sleeping tight' and don't let the bed bugs bite could be a dark/bug or bug/ghost or ghost/dark type bed bug/moth/spider thing that will bite children when they sleep and depending on the type, sucks the blood from them or sucks the life from them.

'Ignorance is Bliss'

A happy-go-lucky pokemom that enjoys doing whatever and erasing the bad memories of anyone. It could be a mythical.

'Fight or Flight'

I actually made this one if 5th grade, and it's actually one of the favorite fakemon I've made. It was a blue cloud bat that that had a unicorn horn. It was like a mixture of Togekiss, Swoobat, and Altaria if that makes any sense. But it could evolve into a pokemon called Cloufree, a flying/fairy type, or Cloustorm, a flying/fighting type. Actually, I'll probably revise the fakemon and post it here, since as much as I love them, I can't stand the old art of them.

"When Pigs Fly'

A flying type pig. That's it. Honestly, if I ever draw these, I'm definitely adding a lot more elements to it since I don't just want it to be a pig with wings.

'A blessing in disguise'

This would probably be a mythical pokemon as well. It could be like a helper of Arceus that resembles the angels we see in media. This pokemon is known for its disguises, watching people and giving good fortune to those it deems kind-hearted. It would have the same ability as Zorua/Zoroark, going into battle disguised as the last pokemon in your party.

'Curiosity killed the cat'

Not much we can do with it, but I just like the idea of a Ghost/normal type cat pokemon. It could have a similar position to Greavard, and even be a counterpart to it. Also, did you know that the full saying is; "Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back?"

Knock on Wood

It'd be a pokemon based on Pinnochio, but it would also be the puppeteer. Many years ago, this Pokemon was made by a puppeteer, but when its master died, the pokemon wanted to honor his crafts by making their own own puppets. Do they take pieces of wood from trees and make wooden puppets of their own, giving them life with their psychic powers. This pokemon will have little wooden stick puppets follow it around, like how Dragapult have Dreepy follow them around.

That's all I can think of right now. While I'm probably going to draw a lot of them, feel free to use these ideas yourself, or add to these ideas!

Inktober 2023 - Day Twenty Two - Scratchy

Don't get me wrong, I like Gorgiest, but I was always felt like it lacks something from Pumpkaboo when it evolves. For me, it was it's 'batty-ness' and I did a redesign a couple few years ago:

But I know people also thought it was gonna become a black cat like Pokémon when it evolved and I wanted to play with that idea. I really like how this fakemon came out. Spooky scratchy ghost kitty inhabiting a pumpkin!

Vespekin (Flying/Poison)

Its long tail wraps around branches so that it may sleep under the shade of trees during the day. At night, it roams around its territory with the rest of its colony hunting for prey.

Its stinger contains a potent venom that can paralyze creatures ten times its size. While their prey is immobilized, these Pokémon joyfully chirp as they feed off of their victim's blood.

Ahghoul (Ghost/Poison)

As soon as this Pokémon evolves, it is shunned and cast out by its colony. It lets out haunting wails as it soars the night sky, always waiting for an answer.

It can open up its segmented tail to spray toxins onto its enemies. Grieving its separation from its colony, this Pokémon is quick to take out its anger on anything it sees.

A couple of Fakemon I designed for fun since I have a need for more bat Pokemon. Inspiration comes from bats, opossums, and the Southasian cryptid known as the Ahool.

???, the Ebony Down Pokemon (Ghost)

Thought to be a bad omen in the ??? region, it wanders in dark forests. Its mournful cries sound like a child.

???, the Visceral Pokemon (Ghost/Psychic in Cloaked Form, Ghost/Dark in Unfurled Form)

Its movements are elegant and slow in its Cloaked Form. The energy billowing below it mesmerizes people and Pokemon alike.

Once night comes, it turns into its Unfurled Form and flies off; in its frenzied state, it steals the energy of whatever is in its path by licking it. Its tail made of spectral energy becomes longer as it feeds. Putting salt on yourself will repel it.

a fakemon based on the pretty humanoid archetype you see every generation... but with a twist! 

its based mostly on the manananggal, with the baby representing the black chick needed to turn someone into a manananggal, with its evolution being the manananggal itself. there is a bit of classic femme fatale vampire thrown into its Cloaked Form to tie it back into the whole idea of pretty humanoid pokemon

the biggest challenge to this was to make it not too grisly looking, which i think i accomplished with making its unfurled form just be a vampire bat that looks like an in-between of a vampire-to-bat transformation with its tail referencing it, though i was a bit cheeky with the species name being Visceral

i imagine that the change to its Unfurled Form is either triggered by the day/night cycle... or having it use an absorption type move. it turns back to its Cloaked Form either during the day or when it reaches below a certain hp threshhold

Concept

Pokemon flying type Gym Leader, except they don't have ANY bird Pokemon. Their entire team consists of BATS.

Meet Varney! They use they/them pronouns and are 22 years old. They run a flying type gym and are the 8th gym leader of the Dymus region (my own fakemon region). They challenge you three times throughout your journey before you finally get to their gym. In these 3 battles they use the 3 evolutionary stages of the region's pseudo legendary, an as yet unnamed or designed ghost/flying type that's based on a vampire bat.

Redesigning Fakemon

So, I’ve been stressed

And I came across my fakemon from a year or so ago in my image gallery

And I kinda hated them

So let’s redesign them!

First, the fire starter

I can’t remember what I called it, but it initially looked like

The concept is for a fox Pokémon that evolves into a fire/ghost, with half of its body being made of smoke. One half is more good boi, the other is on some unhinged joker shit.

My issue was that it didn’t look like a starter. It looked too complex, and too much like Fennekin. So… I decided to look up different foxes.

I found two good inspirations. The island fox and the bat eared fox. Firstly, I’m shocked that the bat eared fox isn’t a Pokemon already. Those ears are amazing. Second, the fur pattern of the island fox made for a good idea of where to place colours in the fur.

I took out the half smoke fox from the original, but when I design the second and third stages, that will be reincorporated. For now, I gave it a smoke tail. And I will be using the features in this stage to redesign the next stages.

Next, I redesigned the legendary sea serpents. For anyone unaware, my fakemon take inspiration from Canada. And in Canada… we have a fuck ton of sea serpents for some reason. Don’t ask me why.

Anyways, I gave my initial Ogopogo inspired design (the one with the shield tail) a few tweaks to make it more inspired by Caddy, as I felt that it was more fitting.

I redesigned the Ogopogo inspired Pokemon to make it more monstrous, given that Ogopogo is often described as a sea demon.

I also tweaked the Memphre inspired Pokemon, making it have a tail resembling a rainbow trouts and a cloak instead of it being a fluffy worm.

And that’s the other thing. For group cohesion, I started incorporating a royal court theme into it. The Caddy inspired Pokemon has a crown and shield and is kinda serving nobility. The Memphre Pokemon to me looks more like some court magician or royal advisor. And the Ogopogo Pokemon is either a scary knight or an executioner.

I will share the names for all these Pokemon and more information in later posts when I have more work done

Hey guys! I promise that Phantasma will be posted next, I just wanted to drop this fakemon that I created a while back that I completely forgot about! His name is Phantazotz, a Dark/Ghost mythical who is respectfully based off of the Mayan bat god of death, Camazotz!

I hope some of you like him! I tried to make an OG fakemon (I think it’s good for a first-try but eh, could be better), but he took a while, so I added some pictures I took when he was in the works!

Veroerilio evolution, Alsuga. Alsuga's evolve from Veroreilio's who's been living in caves, due to lack of ability to produce chlorophyll, and to hide from predators who would pray on it. Alsuga's leaves it's cave at night, to pray on other grass pokemon and suck out their live forces, in order to survive.
