Live brief: Horror
I looked up this artist Baldi Konijn and I liked his technique of minimal detail but still showed textures such as the metal around the barrel. I wanted to embody his style in my own props. He displays broken, cracked, and varied forms of barrel design/chest design. However, he does not appear to do multiple angles for the same design but does display his designs from different perspectives.
Tumblr media
After I got the mechanics down for the third act, I thought it would be a good idea to get some props down to show my versatility. Getting inspiration from Konijn's work I started to detail some of the props with textures and different angles. I wanted to show some realism toward my environment. I did some photo bashing to show the metal and rock textures as well as used minimal outlines. I added grass to my props to show the ground and how it would be overgrown around the base of the props, this adds more realism to the prop designs.

Italy shows goodwill to EU with last-minute tax changes
Bartender in Siena, Italy, August 5, 2020 (Unsplash/Gabriella Clare Marino) Italy’s new right-wing government has backed away from a plan to let shops refuse card payments under €60. The country’s previous government, led by former European Central Bank chief Mario Draghi, required companies to accept all card payments in an attempt to fight tax evasion. The Spellmaker
Status: Incomplete
Wordcount: 167k
Rating: Mature
The drudgery of living in Private Drive becomes bearable when Harry discovers a local library. There supported by a helpful librarian he discovers this talent for Latin and by the time the Hogwarts begins he is fluent in it, devouring many classical texts in their originals.
His command of Latin leads to an earlier discovery of magic - by the time Harry is sorted, he already has a decent command of wandless magic. Having spent his first summer before the 1st year in Diagon Alley and not with the Dursleys also means, that Harry is well acquainted with curriculum and well read on the wizarding topics. This combined with his fame puts him on top of all other students and even gain him favors with Snape.
With such plot armor, the reader can't expect Harry to encounter many challenges. The first year is very uneventful, the second finally leads to a confrontation, but also breaks the suspension of disbelief - Harry is hoodwinked by the horcrux in a completely out of character way. It's always a challenge to write powerful characters without making them weakness-free and leaving some room for growth. In this story Harry's portrayal is very unbalanced and makes for a boring read.
There are some aspects of the story that are noteworthy like giving more information on the wandlore and equipping Harry with a unique wand or showing spell-crafting through Latin. I hope that the future chapters improve and the the plot and characters become as well written as the world itself.
Although the story is tagged as tomarry (Harry/ Lord Voldemort) there is not a hint of romance due to the age of protagonists. Perhaps the situation will change in the later Hogwarts' years.

28/31 #portraitjuly Reference: Gabriella Clare Marino I saw this photo and thought, “That’s cool!” And tried to draw it. I certainly didn’t do it justice, but I tried. It wasn’t long before I realized that I didn’t have the patience, diligence, skill, time, or desire to draw all those tiny cogs and details that would have made this spectacular. And THAT is why I could never be a photo realistic artist. Although I am not really happy with this, I took a step out of my comfort zone. So there’s that. https://www.instagram.com/p/CgjCLH4OOtZ/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

The one who isn’t familiar with horse riding may think the rider is just sitting in the saddle while the horse does all the job. But every horseman knows this is wrong. There is much more to horse riding than you might expect. Horseback riding brings joyful feeling, promotes physical and mental development, helps to feel the bond with nature.
Let’s have a look at how riding a horse is beneficial for us and why this activity is worth considering.
Physical constituent
Horseback riding improves balance, coordination, and motor skills. Other benefits include strengthening muscles, reflex acceleration, preventing muscle cramps, increasing joint mobility, toning the cardiovascular system, improving circulation, stimulating sensory integration, improving the visual perception of space. Besides this activity is advantageous for developing responsibility, patience and self-discipline, and increasing self-confidence.
Riding a horse stimulates the internal organs in the same way as walking. It helps the liver and digestion work properly. You will burn five calories per minute at a low pace. Increasing the speed and time spent on riding will enhance your work intensity and burn more calories.
Horse riding is an enjoyable kind of sports for both adults and children. Kids learn responsibility by taking care of hooved animals.
When cleaning and carrying horse tack gear, riding equipment, and bales of hay, physical work also takes place. The equestrian David Garcia mentions in his blog that horses need regular grooming, cleaning, and trimming too. That allows you to maintain muscle mass immensely.
Through the control and care of horses, you can build mutual trust with these wonderful animals. Trail riding is a great way to get out and see the surroundings, bringing the rider closer to nature. Simply being outdoors and enjoying the scenery will stimulate your overall well-being and act as a good stress reliever. As you ride and breathe in rhythm, it seems that you become one with the horse.

Mental Constituent
You may think that learning to handle a horse is a difficult task. When the basics are mastered and management becomes easy, there will be more opportunities for further learning. The further you progress, the more interesting aspects of riding you’ll face. Even the most experienced horsemen admit they have a lot more to figure out.
Studies have shown that equestrian sports can help prevent memory problems with aging. Your brain, like muscles, needs exercise to stay healthy, flexible, and efficient. Riding provides the brain with the necessary exercise to keep it in shape. When you teach your horse to trot for dressage riding, you’ll feel the satisfaction of your own success.
Emotional Constituent
Many people associate horses with a bond with nature. They feel extremely comfy while working with their hooved friends. Although there are frustrations and challenges in riding, most people find it relaxing. The camaraderie among those who are addicted to the same activity is also attractive. It’s quite exciting to gather with peers for a riding lesson, training, or a competition.
If you crave more privacy, horse riding can help you too. Lots of horse owners feel that their companion is their soul mate. They are in tune with their own feelings and emotions. And they are closer than any other pet animal. During times of stress, a horse can be a quiet, non-judgmental friend. On the other hand, a horse is a great friend to have fun with.

Hippotherapy and Its Benefits
Hippotherapy is a way of communication between a man and a horse. This therapy has been successfully maintaining people’s well-being for ages. In fact, an equine is like a living exerciser. When a person rides a horse, blood circulation and respiration are activated, hence, all the body muscles are involved in the work. The equine’s biological field is considered highly positive – it relieves fatigue, calms, and restores mental balance.
The uniqueness of hippotherapy lies in a method of natural self-regulation of the body. In some cases, horse therapy can be an alternative to drug treatment. And it can also be successfully combined with other treatments.
With the help of hippotherapy, both in children and adults, diseases of the nervous system are successfully treated – neuroses, general disorders, cerebral palsy. As well as all types of mental development disorders (delayed speech, psychomotor development, early childhood autism).
This method has been used successfully in the treatment of depression. Horseback riding causes many positive emotions, joyful experiences, incredible sensations that affect the deep structures of the cerebral cortex. People with disabilities have a unique opportunity to move without the support of crutches or a wheelchair. This contributes to body strengthening and a sense of self-worth.
Horses have been successfully used by psychotherapists to enhance patients’ self-esteem, improve their mood, relieve fear. Besides, therapy is an effective way to unwind after a tough day.
In the Nutshell
One way or another, horses are closely intertwined in the history of mankind. We’ve been interacting with these graceful creatures for ages. Nowadays there are loads of horse breeds that can be used in a wide range of equestrian activities.
Horseback riding is kids- and adult-friendly, which is awesome. People of all ages can try this sport and find their favorite activity.

I’ve always had a problem with the way Sicilian’s trivialise the outside world while dissecting every minimal aspect of their own daily life. The world beyond Sicily has little significance, yet you can live out your life before a local community, with a microscope pointed firmly at you. It is strange to watch them act out their bizarre melodrama filled…

The EU Introduces Plan to Make Covid-Era Travel Less Confusing
Tumblr media

Skift Take: The patchwork of rules does make matters more confusing, but it may also force potential travelers to be more cautious at this point. Which may not be a bad thing as cases tick up higher in parts of Europe.
