A short first meeting (really first seeing) for borrower!Haruhi and Hikaru.

Maybe considered accidental fear-play? Haruhi is definitely scared. Trigger warning just in case.

There are Three universal rules known by all borrowers. First, never borrow more than you need-not only is it a quick way to get noticed, it also slows you down when making an escape. Second, never let a human bean see you-the ones that speak that rule with the most passion in their voices have seen some truly horrible sights. Sights most borrowers hope to never see. Last, if you have broken rule Two never, ever, freeze up. First and foremost you must escape the situation-through any means necessary-then you can worry about moving into a new home and starting over.

It was a Thursday morning when Haruhi simultaneously broke all three rules.

She felt stupid-mostly because she wasn’t stupid. She knew better than to try and take a whole half of a dinner roll. But it was so fluffy, fresh baked that morning by one of the beans that wore the black and white outfits, and she was starving.

For the past three days the beans had been hosting some kind of gathering. What seemed like Hundreds of unfamiliar beans flooded the home that her home was inside. It was impossible for her to leave the cover of her home.

Even in the night hours it seemed that a bean was around every corner. Because of rule One Haruhi didn’t have any real backup supply of food. She’d always gone out during the hours she knew the beans would be busy, or sleeping, and only took enough food to last for the day.

Only a few hours after all the visiting beans left she ran out of her home and waited for the kitchen to empty of the black and white clad beans that were in charge of the food. She should’ve waited until night-another day of hunger was better than being caught-but at the time her body was controlled by her stomach instead of her brain. All she could think of was filling herself with food, and the roll smelled so delicious.

Now she stood frozen in place, eyes locked with the bean named Hikaru. No matter how hard she willed her feet they would not move. For the moment, neither did Hikaru.

Haruhi could hear the faint ticking of the clock, somewhere above her. Counting down to her doom. She wondered what was going through the bean’s mind. Was he thinking of different ways to torment her?

When she was small she had heard stories, terrible stories about borrowers who were caught in closed fists and never seen again, from one of her papa’s friends. A traveler who passed by from time to time. She was tough then-safe in her childhood home from the monsters of stories-but now she couldn’t stop picturing everything that might’ve happened to those stolen borrowers. Everything that might be happening to her soon.

Hikaru took a step towards her, mouth dropping open, and she finally found herself able to move. She had to move, before he closed the distance between them. She refused to be the next horror story told to young borrowers.

She threw the roll to the floor and dashed towards the spices lined up on the counter. She could use them as a barrier between her and the bean-however flimsy they may be compared to his massive size-until she could force her brain to remember the escape route she’d practiced so many times.

Behind the spices she couldn’t see the bean anymore, which was almost more terrifying than locking eyes with him. At least then she knew where he was and what he was doing. Now she only had the sounds coming from his direction, which were nearly drowned out by the thumping of her heart in her ears. Faint shuffling of feet and panicked mumbling.

Please she begged silently to any entity that might’ve been listening just let me make it out of this alive

She reached the edge of the counter just as the bean started shuffling the spices behind her. Her blood ran cold when the thought of him seeing her. It seemed to freeze up her heart and she was worried she might get stuck in place again, luckily her feet didn’t stop moving.

Unluckily, she was past the edge now. She felt her frozen heart drop to the pit of her stomach. Too terrified to even scream, her body went into auto pilot. She didn’t know when, but at some point she had pulled out her hook and stabbed it into the wall. Her hands burned when she grabbed onto the thread, skin peeling away from her palms and she slid too quickly, but she successfully slowed her descent.

As quickly as she could, she propelled to the ground, taking bigger leaps than she normally would’ve. Desperate times called for a few more risks-and her hands were already torn up anyway. They burned with every drop but she couldn’t let them slow her down.

She didn’t glance up-didn’t look for the bean. She could still hear the rattling of spice bottles on the counter. With any luck he wouldn't notice she was no longer behind them until she made it back to her home.

She reached the ground and pulled on the thread. The hook didn’t budge. Haruhi didn’t have a moment to waste on trying again, or even to mourn the loss of the hook her father gave her, she had already been seen. She left it without a second thought. He would forgive her for leaving it, given the circumstances.

“Hey” she heard the bean’s voice behind her as she ran towards the slit in the baseboards that served as the entrance to her home “stop running”

She vaguely heard the order, but of course paid it no mind. She was so close. Even with his giant legs the bean wouldn’t be able to catch her before she slipped inside. Once there she was sure she would be safe-at least for a moment. Long enough to get her emergency pack and start her escape. On to a new home.

“Come back” the bean called again and she heard the thumping of his feet. They rattled the ground slightly as he moved towards her.

A pause in the thumping almost made her stop, something strange was happening behind her. But she didn’t allow herself to look back.

Just as she slipped into the hole the floor shook beneath her, she felt wind push against her back, and felt the very tips of the beans fingers rustle her short hair. A squeak of surprise escaped her throat and she jumped forward. Safe.

Haruhi glanced back with widened eyes and saw the bean’s giant eyes staring back at her through the hole. He was on his stomach, laying on the ground. She knew instantly that if she had stopped to look at him he would’ve caught her. Probably crushed her. The bean has leapt from his previous place, towards her goal in an attempt to catch her.

She walked backwards, further into safety, but kept her eyes locked on his. Her whole body trembled.

“Come back” the bean sounded almost pleading when he spoke “where are you going?”

She slipped into the darkness. And once she had to turn a corner she stopped looking back. Her heart still thumped in her ears and throat, it felt like her eyes were throbbing in tune with it. Her brain raced as she recalled the events and mentally kicked herself for being stupid. Just because she wanted to gorge herself on bread.

I won’t make that mistake again she thought to herself as she gathered little scraps of things she might need.

She had no idea how far she would have to travel to find a new home. The only food she had was a small piece of stale cracker that was her absolute emergency last resort food. It had already been three days since she last ate.

No use pouting about it. It was too late to do anything else. She would have to brave the outside with what she had and nothing more. But at least she could wait until night. The bean can’t get her here-not quickly anyway. She might as well double check her materials and try to make some semblance of a plan.

I should’ve taken a bite at least she mourned the loss of the roll-the cursed thing had ruined her life, nearly ended it, and she didn’t even get a bite.

Ouran High School Host Club - Borrower AU

I’ve had this idea in the back of my brain since July 2020, and I have periodically typed down some stuff to actually develop it. Hope you guys enjoy, and feel free to send me asks if you want to know more or have your own fun ideas for this concept! (Disclaimer: This is primarily self-indulgent. I want to speculate [and maybe write fanfic about] G/T with the characters, not construct an entire complex narrative. Not to say all logic goes in the trash, but this is mostly about having fun.)

BASIC PREMISE

Haruhi is a Borrower whose tumultuous existence has led her to live in the walls of Ouran Academy. She’s drawn to Music Room 3 because the Host Club orders food in abundance and there is always some left out for her to scavenge. She is eventually discovered by the club’s members, but is quickly assured that they bear her no ill intentions. In fact, quite the opposite - they are quite taken with their little discovery. One factor from canon remains intact: when Haruhi is first found, she’s mistaken as a boy. The truth is quickly clarified, but her ability to pass as a boy sparks an idea... Kyoya, the vice-president of the club, offers Haruhi a deal: Haruhi will join the club as a host in exchange for food, comfortable living accommodations, and basic assurances of safety. Put simply: she will not have to “borrow” because they’ll make sure her needs are met.

“How the heck is Haruhi gonna stay a secret from the world at large?” Well, for the sake of self-indulgence, this AU operates on the logic of “what happens in Host Club stays in Host Club” where Haruhi is concerned. All of the guests understand this and treat it with the highest regard (OR ELSE)

CHARACTER BIOS

Haruhi: Self-sufficient, physically sturdy, and extremely practical. To that end, she has very little regard for gender norms, cutting her hair short so she doesn’t have to manage it and wearing whatever is most functional for borrowing.

As a host, she can often set hearts aflutter without even trying due to her size. Though she doesn’t easily welcome physical contact at first, she does eventually build enough rapport that she will step into the hands of certain people. Tamaki: He is high-strung on matters concerning Haruhi to the point of annoyance; she often accuses him of treating her like a porcelain doll. Kyoya: He recognizes how the novelty of her being small could appeal to girls and is the one to suggest she work for the host club. Kyoya is very stern about keeping Haruhi safe and comfortable, both for her value to the club and a strong sense of obligation to uphold their agreement. Hani-Senpai: Honey’s childlike innocence helps to put Haruhi at ease shortly after they get acquainted; it also helps that he frequently shares his sweets with her, since Haruhi’s first and truest love is food. He is general very sweet and polite, though he can get a little overexcited. Mori: His quiet, imposing demeanor intimidates Haruhi at first. But seeing the way he interacts with Honey-senpai, she quickly realizes that Mori is a gentle giant. If Haruhi needs to be carried or given a lift, Mori is the one she prefers to rely on. He is gentle without being overly fussy (unlike Tamaki). Hikaru and Kaoru: These two love toy with Haruhi a lot in canon. How do you think that goes in an AU where she’s toy-sized? Haruhi’s safety may be a top priority for the Host Club, but the twins still like to have their fun. Though they are mindful of Haruhi’s boundaries, they often make a point of testing what those boundaries are. Ryouji “Ranka” Fujioka Though I haven’t thought all of them out fully, there are differences between this AU and the canonical version of this character. -Not related to Haruhi -Still a cross-dresser or potentially identifying as transgender. (The weirded-out attitudes from the canon characters would be dialed back or removed entirely in any potential stories). -Comes into contact with the Host Club through different circumstances. (Perhaps connected to Haruhi’s lack of gendered thinking.) Renge Houshakuji Once again rising to a management role within the Host Club, cue the appropriate amount of gushing when she learns about Haruhi. Once it comes to light that Haruhi is a girl (despite Haruhi’s gender-neutral sentiments and practical outlook), Renge pushes for her to be given a more varied wardrobe. Sho and Ari A young couple contracted to build a functional dollhouse for Haruhi to live in. Their names are a nod to Sho and Arrietty from the film Arrietty. Gojo and Kitagawa (from My Dress-Up Darling) They are hired to make clothes for Haruhi. Kitigawa measures Haruhi and serves as a style guide, Gojo handles all of the actual crafting.

finally got around to reading Romantic Killer and have thoughts

saw the trailer on Netflix and figured the manga would be better, so I spent last night reading a bunch of chapters. i like it overall and will try to finish it tonight, but there are some.....issues.

(if you read til the end there’s some recommendations too :3 )

1 the pacing is bad sometimes. like, REALLY bad

nearly two volumes are spent on Anzu and Kazuki exclusively. you’re emotionally invested in them as a couple, the end game is in sight. and just when the plot is entering the “obsessed fangirls find out about their relationship” arc....it’s dropped. they pick THAT moment to introduce a new guy. and not even one that makes sense, like a friend of Kazuki or another student - they go for the “childhood friend” route that’s canonically ripped out of their ass. its insanely disruptive to the story and almost caused me to drop it then & there.

2 if you think about it longer than 10 seconds, it becomes a horror manga

Riri the fairy is genuinely the most evil mascot character since Kyuubei. their antics very quickly stop being funny and start veering into “objectively horrifying”. we have total mind control, brainwashing, driving people into homelessness, and eventually just forcing hot guys to fall in love with Anzu. lives are either up-ended or destroyed, and Riri doesn’t even try to hide the fact that this is for purely personal gain.

3 the root cause of Anzu’s problems is never talked about

i went into this mostly on the curiosity of why Anzu was so against getting a boyfriend. maybe she’d gotten hurt in the past, or her resistance was a mask for low self-esteem? nah, turns out she’s just lazy. Anzu is addicted to sources of instant gratification (video games, junk food, pets) and has no interest in a boyfriend purely because social relationships take work.

in the long run Riri is right to stage an intervention...but it’s undermined by all this romance cliche bullshit. it would’ve been easier (and more impactful to the audience because, let’s be honest, a LOT of us here are Anzu) if they’d just called Anzu out on what a spoiled and lazy brat she is and say they’re doing this before she ruins her own life.

4 its a satire of shoujo romance tropes...but makes fun of the outdated ones while being unironically full of the current ones

this takes decent amount of knowledge of manga history to notice. a lot of the tropes Riri is trying to pull off were common in manga from the 20th century. those were the days of the skinny, princess-like manga heroine who falls for the manly hero who protects her from danger (even when she has g-d superpowers and he doesn’t). a good example would be Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask. but, starting in the early 2000s, manga heroines started getting more realistic - more tomboyish, average looks, and simply more independent in general. this describes Romantic Killer to a T.

everything that’s supposed to make Anzu an “anti-shoujo” MC...i’ve seen MCs do in other shoujo. none of them super recent either. in fact, her whole character could accurately be described as just a spicier version of Haruhi Fujioka from OHSHC.

as i mentioned i’m not saying Romantic Killer is bad, it’s just Not Perfect. even with the above issues, it’s still a solid read. other titles you may also enjoy would be Ouran High School Host Club, FIVE, Boku no Orion, and Skip Beat.

Summary:

Yuuji is a famous Twitch streamer who does streams from his college dorm. Among his fanbase, his huge crush on a random book reviewer on youtube has become a running joke. The fanbase decides to make it their mission to discover who Yuuji's mystery crush is.

Megumi has a very small book reviewing channel on Youtube he started in high school. He doesn't even know what Twitch is, but Nobara keeps insisting he needs to help her find this random Twitch Streamer's secret crush. Her reasoning: the secret crush does youtube and reviews books.

Comments: As you will find I'm such a sucker for modern aus and this one is really cute! Megumi being a booktuber & its so sweet to see them fall for each other just through their channels.

Ain't That A Kick in The Head

Summary:

This is the story of how one unhinged outlaw, along with the ghost of his dead brother, infiltrates a village to flush out the corruption within and faces those who he left behind. Including but not limited to: old teammates, classmates, and the guy he has feelings for that he keeps repressing.

Maybe they'll even save the world and have a proper conversation.

Comments: Itachi is so funny, literally causing drama from beyond the grave. It's naruto if it was a romcom, and its hilarious & very gay. Also I love sasuke in this fic <3

Redemption In A Worthy World

Summary:

Sasuke Uchiha has returned to the Konoha of his youth missing an eye and questioning everything. While knowing what's to come is an incredible advantage, his very existence starts a domino chain of events no one could predict. With both the Akatsuki and Danzo interested in a new Uchiha, Sasuke will have to fight to keep those he loves safe in the cloak-and-dagger world of the shinobi. Except things are changing before he's even woken up, his younger self is just as stubborn as he is, and he's going to have to learn how to parent all over again.

Comments: LISTEN LISTEN ik it says 69 chapters it's so worth it, especially if you love sasuke or fix-it fics or time travel or worldbuilding and lore. If you like learning about the Uzumaki clan and always wanted that to be explored go ahead and open it up. It's in my top 3 fics of all time, that's how serious this is. I will say that it's rated M for a reason, which is that the violence is very intense and a bit gory & in chapter 66 there's a sex scene, but you can skip it if you want. It's definitely emotionally heavy and, I'm not even gonna lie, it's a really long read. Personally, I don't care for the aliens, BUT they do their part & the writer makes them interesting, they're also not as prominent in the story as you keep reading.

The "Five Years" Game

Summary:

Things have finally calmed down to business as usual—as much as business is ever usual, for the Ouran High School Host Club—and Kaoru is feeling some tried and true Hitachiin-brand boredom. Seeing this, Kyoya issues an intriguing challenge: he plans on winning a certain game in exactly five years. If Kaoru wants to beat him, all he has to do is figure out the goal of the game before Kyoya wins it.

As if a tried and true Hitachiin could turn down a challenge like that.

Let the “Five Years” game begin!

Comments: I feel like I should tell you that my only bookmark notes on here say "VICTORY!" Anyway, I love it when people write kyoya and know what they're talking about, he's my favorite host club member. I have not been into ohshc for a while and this made me want to get back into it. It's very clever and well-written, had a lot of fun reading this. Definitely cried a bit at the end lol.

Crazy Stupid Love

Summary:

Mikoto Uchiha and Kushina Uzumaki were more than just friends. What they meant to one another would take a lifetime to express, so they did. The shinobi world is cruel, but it is also very beautiful. Sometimes, you can still find that beauty on a battlefield or on a lazy Sunday morning.

A companion piece to Redemption in a Worthy World, but can be read separately.

Comments: It felt wrong to not include this when I'm recommending Redemption too. It's so beautifully written but it's so dark and tragic, but I think about this fic often. It's also good for providing background info on some things that happen in Redemption but they're both standalone fics.

G/T headcanons for the Host Club

Nobody asked but I need comfort fuel and maybe someone else will appreciate this post. This is basically some headcanons about how the hosts would react/behave (in my opinion) with a small reader.

Lets start with the King himself!

Tamaki:

· First encounter would be hell for you considering Tamaki would immediately reach for you and scoop you up in his palm.

· He wants to touch you and pick you up all while being his loud self.

· After seeing your expressions of fear he catches on that you are terrified of him.

· He takes his voice down a couple notches before officially introducing himself.

· He would want to introduce you to the rest of the host club but the moment you tell him you’re not too comfortable with that yet he would understand.

· Suoh thought that commoners lived weird lives but hearing how you lived was like talking to an alien species from a planet lightyears away.

· Tamaki blushes when he feels you cling to his neck while you sit on his shoulder.

· This man would dote on you 24/7 without hesitation. Giving you loving pet names.

· From day 1 Tamaki would feel protective of you…maybe overprotective.

· Boundaries are definitely something you would have to set with him. Picking you up without warning, cheek pokes etc.

· After you explain that his action are uncomfortable he would try his best to be respectful.

· If you decided to live with Tamaki you already know this boy would not hesitate to accommodate any need you may have,

· “Do you need a little bed? Or a wardrobe? Is that blanket too rough?”

· You usually end up sleeping on the pillow next to him. It’s pretty comfortable.

· Overall you feel safe with Suoh.

Kyoya:

· When Kyoya comes across you it feels like a hawk has spotted you. His gaze is so intimidating for a solid minute you just wouldn’t move.

· Unlike Tamaki he would not just reach down to pick you up. This man would crouch down on one knee to try and seem less intimidating.

· “Well, are you going to say anything or just stare?”

· Kyoya would feel awkward about holding you for the first few times.

· “Is this okay? Make sure you hold on tight in case I trip.”

· Once you grow closer with him, you tend to lay across his shoulder and watch him work on budgeting the host club’s finances.

· Kyoya is curious about where you came from and how your life has been so far. He’s a great listener.

· He has notes about your life.

· Kyoya wasn’t too thrilled to introduce you to the host club out of caution for your safety.

· He makes sure while the guests are there you are safe in his coat pocket.

· Every now and then he would give a soft little pat to his pocket just to feel you in it.

· You tend to poke light at Kyoya when he’s feeling down to try and lift his spirits and he appreciates it a lot.

· Anytime you get sick he makes soup (or at the least he has someone else make soup) for you and stays by your side until you feel better.

· One time you woke him up from his sleep and you felt like you witnessed a giant demon hovering over you.

· “It is a good thing you’re cute.”

· Loves flustering your little self for his own amusement.

· There’s a soft side of Kyoya you see that the others do not.

· You make Kyoya feel important whenever you hold on tight to him. All he can think about is keeping you close.

Haruhi:

· She’s shocked to see someone so tiny but out of all the host members she’s the most respectful in the first encounter.

· Kneeling down, she’d ask if you were okay or if you needed help.

· She’d reassure you she means no harm.

· Haruhi keeps you a secret for as long as she can but it would be the twins to find out about you due to how nosey they are.

· She sets up a safe place for you to sleep at her house.

· Anytime you seem uncomfortable with something she does her best to get you out of the situation.

· You’ve managed to get separated in the grocery store a few time, which was equally scary for both of you.

· Definitely fall in love with her cooking even if its something simple.

· Meeting Haruhi’s dad was almost like meeting Tamaki with more questions and less touching.

· Whenever you’re chilling on Haruhi’s shoulder she makes sure to be careful with you and how she moves.

· Introducing you to the hosts was difficult for Haruhi to watch without wanting to hold on tight to you.

· Haruhi trusts in you to not get hurt and out of all the hosts you get the most time to yourself to do whatever.

· “Let me know if they cause you any trouble. They can be a handful 101% of the time.”

· This girl has taught you how to see the positives in life no matter how hard it may be.

· At school you would definitely chill in her bag.

Kaoru

· Kaoru would spot you before you spot him.

· He would definitely lift you up by the collar of your shirt in curiosity.

· It wouldn’t register to him how scary it is for you until you’re either yelling at him or crying.

· He would apologize and set you in his hand.

· Kaoru has a habit of poking your cheek when you’re not paying attention.

· The younger twin wouldn’t rush to tell Hikaru about you but he would not actively hide you from him.

· Kaoru seems more relaxed than his brother which in return makes being around him feel less stressful.

· It would not take long for you to feel safe with this boy.

· Whenever you seem worried or frightened, he would gently reassure you that he would be there by your side.

· “(Y/n) It’s okay, as long as I’m around nothing bad will ever happen to you. I promise.”

· And I mean he barely leaves your side.

· Your safety and comfort would always be on this sweet bean’s mind

· And your clothes. Oh this boy.

· Giving you the highest quality clothes you could ever ask for was almost a priority for him.

· “Do you like how that feels? Is it too costumey?”

· You would have to remind him constantly clothes don’t mean much to you as long as they keep you agile and comfy.

· He would often watch you do your own thing just completely in awe with how you function.

· Kaoru around the others with you I got one word. Possessive.

· I’d say that more than protective because its not that he distrusts the hosts, he just doesn’t want to leave your side.

· “Please be safe. Don’t fall off anything.”

· At times it can be annoying how much this twin feels the need to protect you but he means the best. You talk to him about needing your own space and time and he’ll pout but he will definitely learn to back off and breathe.

Hikaru

· This boy has 2 braincells and handling a tiny human is definitely not something he can do without scaring the daylights out of you.

· “What the hell are you?!”

· Cue this twin holding you by your damn leg in front of his face.

· At some point you have to straight up fuss at him to set you down.

· “Jeez my bad.”

· Hikaru has to learn to be gentle and being around you is hard for him at first.

· “Fuck I forgot you were there can’t you watch where you’re going...Sorry.”

· He has so many questions about everything you do.

· “What the hell are you even wearing? How do you not know what sushi is? Your people don’t have fancy food?”

· When you warm up to him though he doesn’t know what to do with himself.

· Anytime you lean against him all he wants to do is protect you.

· Sometimes he’ll just pull you against him and pet your head until you fall asleep.

· Similar to Kaoru he makes sure you have everything you need to be comfortable.

· Sometimes it takes tough love to get through his thick skull and after dealing with this boys shenanigans for long enough you definitely are not afraid to share your mind.

· Hikaru is a tease though and takes any chance he has to compare you to something small.

· Whenever he gets a smirk on his face you feel a shiver down your spine.

· Hikaru would be the first to give you “fancy tuna”

· Also lots of pranks so prepare your heart for him to pop out of nowhere.

Mori

· The first time you see Mori you damn near have a heart attack.

· He’s not the tallest human you’ve seen but he is definitely the tallest human to personally handle you.

· When he first sees you he freezes. Afraid that he may crush you accidentally with one wrong move. Honestly you had not even noticed the teen behind you until you turned around. With Mori you would be the first one to break the silence.

· Mori cautiously crouches down to hold his hand out to you and is so slow to lift you, you get a little impatient.

· You’re a little uncomfortable being so high up from the ground when Mori holds you but you trust the giant not to drop you.

· As you get closer to him you both begin to open up to each other. His voice is soothing and makes you feel safe.

· Because he is so observant it doesn’t take long for him to notice what makes you uncomfortable, happy, upset etc.

· Mori is good at getting you to talk about how you feel.

· He gives you gentle nudges whenever you seem down.

· “Do you want to talk about it, or do you want a hug?”

· Oh Mori Hugs. Sometimes it was hard to not choose hug each time.

· The other hosts have a hard time handling you without Takashi watching them from wherever he is.

· Gave you a push pin for self-defense because he’s Mori and he cares about you.

· He likes being by your side because he feels like he can be his authentic self with you and trusts you not to judge him.

· 100% loves when you nap on his chest with his hand gently over you.

· Overall Takashi is a huge protective softy and you can not help but feel loved and protected with him.

Honey

· At first you think you’re staring at the face of a kid.

· Honey talks your ear off when you first meet him.

· He asks you so many questions you are not sure where to start or how to answer.

· Mitskuni is super gentle with you and makes sure to take caution whenever you’re on his shoulder.

· He always shares his sweets with you and checks on your comfort.

· Mitskuni may have told the hosts about you as soon as he found you.

· It’s a bit overwhelming trying to catch your breath with Honey’s energy.

· Honey loves to talk to you and about you. Hearing your name puts him in a good mood.

· Honestly you could say he hugs you more than Usa Chan.

· Mitskuni tells you how adorable you are constantly.

· This boy will get you out of your shell so fast.

· He always gets your opinion before doing something so you can feel heard.

· Like his cousin, Mitskuni is super observant of your mannerisms and does his best to not make you uncomfortable.

· He is so good with communication you rarely feel like there is anything you need to hide from him.

· Since he sits on Takashi’s shoulders at time, it can feel overwhelming to be so high up. But you also find it relaxing to not be below everyone.

· At home you have your own space to relax and be by yourself. Honey knows how overwhelming the hosts can be at time and respects that you need your time by yourself.

· Sometimes you literally just sleep on his head since his hair is so fluffy. And speaking of sleep, you’re surprisingly not afraid to wake him up.

· The most he does is glare at you and get over it 20 minutes later. Which you find hilarious.

· He’s the sweetest out of the hosts.

Now, Kyoya gasps air into his lungs, hunched over with his hands on his knees. He snatches his glasses off, sweat causing his normally immaculate hair to cling to his forehead, shock and exhaustion making his face look open and so young.

Tall and thin, his lean muscles flex under the tight stretch of his shirt, sweat causing the fabric to cling to Kyoya's broadening shoulders with every movement. Kaoru is certain he's never seen Kyoya like this before. He certain no one has.

Kaoru's eyes are wide, ears deaf to the roar of the crowd and the cheers of his club members beside him. His own heart pounds, mind swimming with one question:
