Isaiah 28:21-22 - For the LORD shall rise up as in mount Perazim, he shall be wroth as in the valley of Gibeon, that he may do his work, his strange work; and bring to pass his act, his strange act. Now therefore be ye not mockers, lest your bands be made strong: for I have heard from the Lord GOD of hosts a consumption, even determined upon the whole earth.
Jeremiah 31:31-33 - Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers… But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel: After those days (days of refining in the oven of affliction), saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.”
Isaiah chapters 13, 24, 29 - By Earth’s geological formations and relics being uncovered by archaeologists we can plainly see the fact that the prophecies of these chapters have already been fulfilled.
Isaiah 26:20-21- Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast. For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall NO MORE COVER HER SLAIN. Jeremiah 25:29-33 - “For, lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by my name (70 AD siege of Jerusalem), and should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall not be unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth… The LORD shall roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he shall mightily roar upon his habitation; he shall give a shout against all the inhabitants of the earth… He will give them that are wicked to the sword, saith the LORD… And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, NEITHER GATHERED NOR BURIED; they shall be dung upon the ground.
AND DID HE MAKE OF THEIR REMNANT—A GREAT NATION which was one among three main nations existing until Satan was released for the purpose of folding up Christ's First Messianic Kingdom so that He may change it to an unseen realm in which it may go on forever without the presence of sin? If you will study the scriptures I so lovingly offer at Christ's direction - with knowledge that the First Dominion of Messiah existed literally on earth during the first millennium A.D. - your heart will be SET ON FIRE as you see all prophecy lining up according to Ends of Earth's Ages. AlleluJAH!

One of my favourite things about Deep Space Nine is imagining how Sisko's superiors must have been reacting to his shenanigans behind the scenes.
I mean just imagine it.
You're an admiral or something in Starfleet. You belong to an organisation that spans half the galaxy, has access to unimaginable (to many civilisations) levels of technology, and contains numerous different cultures.
You are well aware that the power and technological advancement of the Federation makes you inherently dangerous to less technologically advanced peoples. Like the moment any group is introduced to you, the development of their species is basically going to be changed forever. A single individual fucking around can, if careless, negatively impact an entire world.
Avoiding this kind of thing is therefore one of the core values of your civilisation. Your Prime Directive. There are huge lists of rules and regulations over when it is an isn't appropriate to intervene. People have literally died rather than break them.
And then there's this one world, whose people have only just overthrown an oppressive regime and are looking to join your Federation. You and your colleagues vote to help them rebuild, while steering clear of interfering with any of their politics, of course, and send some of your guys over to help administrate.
One of those guys then goes and DECLARES HIMSELF A GOD.
Like, we, the audience, know that Sisko was chosen by the Worm-Hole Aliens to be their Emissary. We know that he struggled with accepting the role at first and that he had visions and eventually came around to whole-heartedly believing in the Bajoran religion.
But Starfleet doesn't know that! Starfleet isn't inside Sisko's head!
From Starfleet's perspective the most logical explanation for all this is that they sent some guy to the back of beyond, the local people got him involved in their religion and then he either went crazy or saw an opportunity to gain power, and now he can impact the entire planet's political decisions on a fucking whim and there's nothing anyone can do about it.
I mean, this has to be every higher-up's worst nightmare, right? This is the sort of extreme scenario they'd come up with in school textbooks to explain to children why the Prime Directive is necessary.
If the Dominion War hadn't happened, Sisko's main legacy in the Federation would have been "the reason why we have all these extra regulations about interfering with non-Federation worlds, and why all Starfleet Captains operating in the vicinity of such worlds have mandatory psych evaluations every couple of months."
And they can't even do anything about it! They can't remove him and replace him with another Officer, because the local people are 100% on board with this 'Sisko's the Messiah' thing and won't work with anyone else. You can't back away from the situation entirely and give them a few years to repair the damage because it's super critical for the war you're currently fighting.
You can't even really control Sisko, because although he makes a show of being The Good Starfleet Captain, in practice there's always a risk that if you say something he disagrees with too strongly he'll just go off piste and do something else entirely and justify it with: "the Prophets told me to".
Which, again, the audience knows is a very real thing that is actually happening to Sisko, but from Starfleet's perspective could be anything from "Sisko is hearing voices" to "Sisko is legit just pulling things from his ass and trusting that we won't risk pissing off the Bajorans by contradicting him."
Just saying, from the perspective of the Federation, Sisko is probably as well-known a cautionary tale as he is a hero.

Warning: This article contains full spoilers for Dune: Part 2 and Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning.
In case you haven’t noticed, Dune is on top of the world right now. The much acclaimed and very lucrative second installment, Dune: Part 2, wraps up Denis Villeneuve’s take on the first book in Frank Herbert’s iconic science-fiction saga, setting the stage for the all but inevitable next film to tackle the second book, Dune Messiah. As IMAX theaters continue to fill up with Dune fans eager for a close-up look at Shai-Hulud, studio executives all over Hollywood will certainly be looking at what happened here to see if they can replicate Dune’s success with future projects. Beyond “letting directors make the movies they want to make” and “audiences are getting tired of formulaic franchise movies with dull visuals,” there’s one other element that stands out as a bit easier to implement…
The obvious answer is to cast Rebecca Ferguson in your movie.
Looking back at Ferguson’s Lady Jessica in both Dune Parts 1 and 2, she stands out not just as the best performance among an incredibly stacked cast, but also as a critical part of the film’s press tour through her chaotic energy and memeable personality. How did this Swedish sensation secure her place as the MVP of the Dune franchise? Let’s take a look.
That’s Mother (of the Messiah)
Over the course of both Dune films, which run about five hours in total, we run into a wide array of colorful characters played by a murderer’s row of Hollywood’s current top talent. However, many of the characters are either exclusive to one installment, go long stretches of the runtime without being seen, and in some special cases like Anya Taylor-Joy’s appearance as Alia, are clearly setups for films yet to come. Even Zendaya as Chani, who is credited as co-lead in Part 2, is restricted mostly to a handful of dream sequences in Part 1. However, the one character relationship that exists as the strongest throughline from the beginning of Paul Atreides’ journey all the way to its culmination in this first story is that of Paul and his mother, Lady Jessica of the Bene Gesserit.
n a film where many of the emotional beats can get drowned out a bit by the expansive backdrops and dour atmosphere, the foundational scenes of Part 1 illustrating the contradictory relationship between mother and son stand out as some of the film’s best. Jessica bore Paul out of love for his father, Leto, consciously choosing to grant him a son when she was instructed to do otherwise, and she cares for Paul’s safety above all others. At the same time, she is also a cunning manipulator who has been training Paul in the superhuman abilities of her order against their wishes, and grooming him for a dark destiny that the young Atreides spends much of the two films hoping to avoid. Jessica is simultaneously driven by a genuine love for her son and a desire to facilitate his rise to power, and Ferguson walks the razor-wire line between these two aspects with pinpoint precision.
This continues into Part 2, where we see Jessica step into an even more overtly villainous role as she schemes her way into assuming the mantle of Reverend Mother of the Fremen. Her relationship with Paul becomes more antagonistic as she sets in motion the events that will lead to his accepting the role of Lisan al Gaib and challenging the Emperor, to the point of even being deemed a traitor to the Bene Gesserit despite ostensibly doing what they wanted by bringing the Kwisatz Haderach into existence. That Jessica has any sympathy from the audience – despite being a eugenicist and megalomaniac who usurped the religious leadership of an indigenous culture so her son could claim dominion of the universe almost purely out of her own vanity – all comes down to Ferguson imbuing her with inner life and dimension that makes us feel like we understand her even when the script doesn’t actually give us every detail about her motivations.
From her recurring role as Ilsa Faust in the Mission: Impossible movies to portraying main villain Rose the Hat in Mike Flanagan’s Doctor Sleep, and now playing Lady Jessica in the Dune films, Ferguson has always been at her best when she takes on characters with a darker edge to their persona that she can contrast with her natural charm. Although Ilsa is more heroic than the other two, all three of these roles intrigue the audience, and the other characters they interact with, through seductive ambiguity, something Ferguson is better at than most of her contemporaries. But what makes this all the more interesting is that she’s seemingly an entirely different person off-camera, and one who is just as important to Dune’s success.
Princess of the Press Tour
As with all things, the true measure of a film’s success in the modern age is how many memes it spawns on social media. From one filmgoer riding a homemade sandworm at his local AMC to jokes about Stilgar’s somewhat overzealous dedication to his prophet, there’s no shortage of humor from fans sharing their responses to Villeneuve’s latest epic. However, one member of the cast is bringing her own brand of comedy to the party, and that’s none other than Rebecca Ferguson, who has taken to promotional interviews with an energy that can best be described as somewhere along a spectrum between “unconventional” and “frankly chaotic.” Not that there’s anything wrong with her having a goofy side to her; on the contrary, the impression she’s made on social media indicates she’s become a true fan favorite because of her behavior.
At a time when press tours are increasingly filled with inane questions and too many influencers at the expense of journalists, clips of Ferguson’s interviews where she reveals just how little of a filter she has have been one of the unsung joys of Part 2’s release. From admitting she still hasn’t read the novel even after making two movies, to texting Denis Villeneuve mid-interview to ask him the answer to a question she didn’t know, to even referencing MGM’s history of the casting couch after learning about the Dune popcorn bucket, Ferguson’s refreshing honesty and hilarious affability have stood out from the crowd amidst so many celebrities who have had much of their personalities sanded down by media training. These and other clips have been making the rounds online, keeping Dune-related media in the cultural conversation.
Given that many lesser films make “the mother of the main character” into a thankless role, Ferguson jumping in and stealing the show both on-screen and off is a reminder of how strange it is that so few Hollywood films have taken advantage of her talent. It also brings to mind how boneheaded of a move it was for the Mission: Impossible franchise to kill Ilsa off in such a haphazard way in Dead Reckoning. Now, to be fair, Ferguson has indicated she wanted to move on from the franchise after three installments, but there had to be a better send-off for her than to die mid-film in an incredibly hamfisted manner. We’re still interested in whatever happens next with the M: I franchise, but it’s a shame that an otherwise fine movie in Dead Reckoning is marred by how one of its star players was treated.
Regardless, it’s Mission’s loss and Dune’s gain, and paves the way for Ferguson to take on even more roles in the future. As Dune: Part 2 continues to gain accolades and box office momentum in part because of her contributions, hopefully the rest of Hollywood will follow in Villeneuve’s footsteps and clue in that this is one star worth investing in.

E PROPHET ZECHARIAH (ZAKHARIAH) THE SICKLE-SEER FROM AMONGST THE 12MINOR PROPHETS (520 BC)
The Prophet Zachariah the Sickle-Seer the eleventh of the twelve Minor Prophets. He was descended from the tribe of Levi, and seems to have been a priest (Nehemiah 12:4,16). He was called to prophetic service at a young age and became, in the wondrous expression of church hymnology, “a spectator of supra-worldly visions.”
The Book of the Prophet Zachariah contains inspired details about the coming of the Messiah (Zach 6:12); about the last days of the Savior’s earthly life, about the Entry of the Lord into Jerusalem on a young donkey (Zach 9:9); about the betrayal of the Lord for thirty pieces of silver and the purchase of the potter’s field with them (Zach 11:12-13); about the piercing of the Savior’s side (Zach 12:10); about the scattering of the apostles from the Garden of Gethsemane (Zach 13:7); about the eclipse of the sun at the time of the Crucifixion (Zach 14:6-7).
“Enlightened by dawnings all above,” the Prophet Zachariah, “saw the future as it were the present.” According to Tradition, this “most true God-proclaimer” lived to old age and was buried near Jerusalem, beside his illustrious contemporary and companion, the Prophet Haggai (December 16). The title “Sickle-Seer” given Zachariah comes from a vision in which he saw a sickle flying in the air, destroying thieves and perjurors (Zach 5:1-3).
The holy Prophet Zachariah died around 520 B.C. His tomb was discovered in 415 in a village near Eleutheropolis (Sozomen, Hist. Eccles. VI:32, IX:17). At the prophet’s feet was the body of a child dressed in royal accouterments. His holy relics were transferred to the church of Saint James the Brother of the Lord (October 23) in Constantinople.

I saw someone claiming that thinking Zionism is bad comes from Hamas propaganda and is racist and antisemitic.
Seriously?
Everyone who doesn't support the State of Israel is now just a gullible person who fell for Hamas propaganda? Despite everything Israel has done to Palestinians for over 70 years, you think people who are anti-Israel as a settler-colonial apartheid state are now racists and antisemitic?
The people at Jewish Voice For Peace are apparently also victims of Hamas propaganda and antisemitic. Wow. All the other Jews I've seen speaking out against Zionism are also apparently antisemitic and support Hamas.

“Anti-Zionism” is a loose term referring to criticism of the current policies of the Israeli state, and/or moral, ethical, or religious criticism of the idea of a Jewish nation-state. There has been debate, criticism and opposition to Zionism within Jewish thought for as long as it has existed. Jewish anti-Zionists span a political and religious spectrum, from religious and secular progressives who view opposition to Zionism as an anti-racist praxis, to ultra-Orthodox Jews who oppose Jewish dominion until the time of the Messiah, to anarchist Jews who oppose the very concept of nation-states, Jewish or otherwise. There are also many non-Jewish anti-Zionists whose perspectives may be informed by moral criticism of the policies of the Israeli government, problems with the impact of Zionist thinking in Israel on non-Jewish residents, and/or a criticism of ethno-nationalism more broadly. Many Palestinians take anti-Zionist positions or identify as anti-Zionist because of the current and historical practices of the Israeli state.
Criticism of Zionism is not to be conflated with antisemitism. States such as Israel and the United States are openly criticized in public life, and their political beliefs and policies are subject to critical debate, in accord with our basic First Amendment rights.

SUPERCHARGING OUR HEAVENLY FOCUS
With the almost non-stop flow of information that is coming at us these days, it is more important than ever that we be intentional about what we focus on. Amidst this swirl of 24-hour-a-day input it can be a battle to keep our eyes and hearts focused in faith on the good news of who our God is, our identity in Christ, and understanding our authority and our Christ calling to advance His Kingdom in the earth.
In Matthew 16:13-19 Jesus and the disciples are discussing some of the many things the world has to say about who Jesus is. Some say He is a prophet. Some say He is John the Baptist. Some say He is Elijah. And others say He is Jeremiah. But when Jesus asks Simon, Simon is able to FOCUS in on the reality of the good news, even when it seems the most incredible and impossible of all the reports.
Simon answers that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of the Living God. Jesus erupts with praise for Simon, telling him that he is truly blessed because he was able to focus in on what his Father in Heaven was highlighting to him in the midst of the swirl of information. Simon's ability, in that moment, to focus on what Heaven was highlighting had a powerful and lasting impact – so much so, that Simon emerges from the moment transformed. He is given a new name, Peter, which means "rock."
FOCUSING ON BEING PROACTIVE IN ADVANCING OUR FAITH
Every born-again believer has a purpose destined by God that is connected to advancing and bearing fruit that remains for His Kingdom in the earth.
Much of the favor of God that we experience is tied to whether or not we are living our life pursuing that purpose.
Some of the steps ahead will be like walking on water. Unfortunately, we do not get to pick the visibility of the water or the depth of the ocean that the Lord asks us to step out on.
WE WILL BE PROACTIVE IN OUR FAITH AND DO THE FOLLOWING:
1. We will seek first the Kingdom of God (DISCOVERING AND ADVANCING GOD'S CALLING ON OUR LIFE). (Matthew 7:7)
2. We will not give heed to reports of the world or listen to the distractions and discouragements of the enemy, but instead we will clearly hear what the Lord is highlighting to us and be encouraged (John 10:4-5).
3. We come to understand our authority and dominion in regard to our Christ identity so we will always be victorious in our Christian walk. Our goal is to be effective in bearing fruit that remains for His Kingdom. (John 15:16)
4. We will keep our focus on the ascended life of Heaven; we will bask in the love of Jesus; and we will dwell not on how temporary facts say things seem to be, but on how the eternal Word of God says they truly are (Colossians 3:1-12).
5. We will remain childlike in our faith, always trusting in our Heavenly Father to perform His Word and bring about His purposes regarding our Christ calling (Matthew 18:3-4).
6. We will bask in the love of Jesus as we see it flow into our heart and into the lives of others; and cast our cares (concerns, fears, doubts, distractions, discouragements) upon Him, allowing Holy Spirit to comfort and strengthen us (1 Peter 5:7; John 14:26; Romans 8:37).
7. We will be pro-active in seeking to disciple others, equipping them in their Christ identity, right standing with God, and walking in the Spirit. (1 John 3:16, 2 Timothy 2:2, Hebrews 13:12)
8. We will praise the Lord in all things and at all times knowing that, no matter how things might look or seem at present, His Word never returns void but always accomplishes all it is sent to do (Isaiah 55:11).

On “Things Above”
A homily on Colossians 3:1-4
preached at the Cathedral Church of the Advent, Birmingham, Alabama
on the Friday after the second Sunday in Lent 2023
Yesterday I spoke to you from the third chapter of St. Paul’s letter to the Colossian Christians in which he tells them: “Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.”
I wonder how you think about that exhortation. What exactly is Paul asking believers to do? What does it mean to have your mind focused on heavenly realities, rather than this-worldly ones? A hymn that we used to sing in the church of my childhood spoke of “the things of earth [growing] strangely dim” in heaven’s overwhelming, eclipsing light.
But has that ever really been your experience? For myself, as soon as I start trying to tear my gaze away from my house, my family, my job, my concrete experiences in this life and attempt to focus on God and heaven and eternity, I can quickly experience one of two things. The first one is sheer confusion: a kind of blank, inscrutable screen.
Cicero, the famous Roman statesman who died a half century before the birth of Christ, tells a story in his treatise On the Nature of the Gods of the tyrant Hiero who demands that the lyric poet Simonides tell him about what it means for the gods to exist. Simonides begs for a couple of days to come up with an answer. When the two days pass and Hiero asks, “Well?” Simonides responds by asking for two more days. And this keeps going until finally Simonides confesses, “The longer I think about it, the murkier the answer seems.” And Cicero, the one telling the story, concludes that the nature of the gods — who or what and how they are, if they are — is a “very obscure question.”
The Protestant Reformer John Calvin, commenting on this story from Cicero, says that as soon as we begin to try to use our imaginations or instincts to picture God, we will “hold nothing certain or solid or clear, but [will] be so attached to confused principles as to worship an unknown God.”
But this experience of a blank, gray, faceless god can easily transition into a second experience, and that is the experience of fear. Onto the gray canvas there can start to seep, Rorshach-inkblot-like, disturbing images of a God who is cruel, vindictive, mercurial, capricious. Not just God as cosmic Santa Claus but God, as C. S. Lewis said he experienced him in the wake of losing his wife to cancer, as cosmic Sadist. God as not just obscure, but terrifying. Not just as One to be baffled by, but One to flee from.
Here, I think, it’s vital to read Paul’s exhortation in context: “Seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.”
Notice: Paul isn’t urging us to try to cultivate some vague, ethereal kind of heavenly mindedness. He’s directing us to think about a particular person — “Christ,” the Messiah, Jesus, the one who died and is now alive with the one he called “Father,” who will come back and heal and restore us and the whole world. It's as if Paul is saying, “When I tell you to think about heaven, I’m telling you to think about that Jewish man named Jesus, who is now alive again and always lives to intercede for you.”
Paul spells it out in more detail in the great poetic passage with which he kicks off the whole letter:
He [Jesus] is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation; for in him all things in heaven and on earth were created, things visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or powers — all things have been created through him and for him. He himself is before all things, and in him all things hold together. He is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that he might come to have first place in everything. For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him God was pleased to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, by making peace through the blood of his cross.
To “set your mind on things above,” rather than on earthly things, is to think about Jesus. And not just to think about Jesus in some general way but to allow the life of Jesus to affect and shape and define the way you think about God.
This is — we need to recognize — a claim that should sound more shocking to us than it probably does. Rowan Williams reminds us:
Paul is roughly the same age as Jesus, perhaps a few years younger; and twenty or so years after Jesus’ execution, Paul is saying that this person, his contemporary, somebody who was well known to people Paul knew well, is the image of God — that in him, as he just as startlingly puts it 1 Corinthians 1.24, is the power and wisdom of God; or that — as he says in 2 Corinthians 4.4-6 — in his face shines the glory of God, what the Jews called the shekhinah, the blinding radiance of God’s presence. In Hebrew Scripture, this presence is described as radiating so powerfully that it throws people to the ground; it’s like a dense fog of light that you can’t breathe in and you can’t stand in… And that glory, that stifling intensity of presence in holy places, is what you see and sense if you look at Jesus, so Paul claims: a strong claim, to put it mildly. Imagine for a moment what a leap of imagination would be involved in thinking of someone of your own generation and background in terms like that.
There are, it seems, two directions we could go at this point. One would be to think through what it might mean to say about a first-century Jewish man, whom we Christians believe to be now alive forever, never to die again — what it might mean to say that in this one individual human person “all the fullness of deity was pleased to dwell.” That would be to ask the question of “Christology,” the Christian understanding of the person of Jesus of Nazareth as God’s Messiah.
But the other direction travels from the ground up, so to speak: What does it mean now to talk about God (to “set our minds on heavenly things”) if we say that this particular human life and death and resurrection, the existence of the man Jesus from his birth to his exaltation to the right hand of the Father in heaven, tells us the true meaning and essence of what it means to be God?
How would it change the way you think about God, the way you pray, the way you worship and seek to obey God, the way you try to put God’s commands into practice in your Christian life, if you really believed that God is knowable ultimately, finally, climactically in Jesus?
The late Reformed theologian T. F. Torrance worked as a chaplain during World War II. One day on a battlefield in Italy, a dying soldier, only twenty years old, grasped Torrance’s arm and said, “Padre, is God really like Jesus?”
Isn’t that a terribly poignant question? And isn’t it also, ultimately, the question of life? Is the God whom I’m about to meet face to face, the One who made me and will judge me and determine my ultimate fate — is that God really going to turn out to be the compassionate Father Jesus said he is and showed him to be in his healings and his pronouncements of forgiveness and his assurance of mercy? Or am I going to find some more sinister character lurking behind the curtain of Jesus’ life and ministry?
Torrance said it was the great privilege of his life to have spent the rest of his theological career spelling out the answer he gave to the dying soldier on the battlefield that day: Yes. Yes. God is like Jesus.
There is… no God behind the back of Jesus Christ, but only this God whose face we see in the face of the Lord Jesus. There is no deus absconditus, no dark inscrutable God, no arbitrary Deity of whom we can know nothing but before whom we can only tremble as our guilty conscience paints harsh streaks upon his face. No, there are no dark spots in God of which we need to be afraid… There is only the one God who has revealed himself in Jesus Christ in such a way that there is perfect consistency and fidelity between what he reveals of the Father and what the Father is in his unchangeable reality… God really is like Jesus, for there is no other God than he who became man in Jesus and he whom God affirms himself to be and always will be in Jesus.
Or as Archbishop Michael Ramsey once put it much more concisely: “God is Christlike; and in God there is no unChristlikeness at all.”
Jesus is, as Paul says in Colossians, the image of the God we cannot see. He is the perfect self-interpretation of God. He is the face of God turned toward us in love.
So, friends, set your minds on things above, not on earthly things — earthly idols, false images, distorted pictures of God. Seek the things that are above, where Jesus Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
To him be the glory, forever and ever.

Andrew Torba has just announced Israeli's have been banned from using Gab(dot)com, a Christian themed Reddit-like forum. He may blame porn bots or scammers for the reason of proposing blocking Israeli IP addresses, however I have watched this man since 2020, his reasons are as fickle as his arguments.
At one point he went as far as channeling Hitler's ghost by stressing the Jews are to blame for the current economic issue, completely ignoring that the government has been purposely printing money and reckless spending that led to the American dollar to be devalued recently.
There are other instances where he suggested as reviving the Constantine-style of economic strategy only giving leeway for Christians - turning this parallel economy into a three way fight, when it should be a team effort to bring the country back from the brink of collapse. From a former-Christian's perspective, I know exactly what Torba is doing: He is purposely trying to implement the the Four Horsemen to destroy America from the inside out. Instead of political or personal affairs motivating him (like a certain senile man is doing in the White House) Torba is destroying American in the name of Christian doctrines, however it's failing.
Torba's main weakness is the use of the internet and dependancy on technology. Alas, despite his only audience being people who don't have a life outside of the box they created the dominion Torba's feeding the main issue.
We worry about caliphate of radical Islam, well radical Christianity is just as dangerous - do we really want another battle of Jerusalem again? Consider the mass slaughter of children, the casualty rate you are going to be dealing with, Torba! If you think you can go up against that ideology armed with ChatBots and no military experience you're a bigger imbecile than I thought.
Even worse: If you even dare to go against Israel like you are now- you're done for, Torba.
DONE.
No exceptions. Don't you dare hide behind your Jesus, grow some balls and own your mistakes like a man!
You extort everyone with your "If they hate Jesus they don't belong here." excuse. So anyone who questions your messiah is basically treated like a nobody? Like you were before you found salvation in Him... is that it?
What happened to "Do unto others as you want others to do unto you?" or "Love your neighbour as yourself?" - do you hate yourself that much you have nothing to offer but bitterness and indifference?

SATAN'S CHANGING TACTICS
Today’s devotional comes from our founder and friend, Brother Andrew:
Have you ever noticed the strategy Satan used throughout Old Testament history? His attacks were aimed at preventing the birth of the Messiah at Bethlehem, but, once Jesus was born, Satan’s tactics changed somewhat. In some instances, he tried to kill Jesus before the Lord could reach the cross. At other times, Satan engineered numerous attempts to discredit Him—to cause Him to stumble or to sin.
But Satan met defeat at the cross. He failed to understand God’s strategy, and his final blunder actually forced events so that Jesus, though innocent, was condemned to die. The Apostle Paul noted that Satan did not understand this in 1 Corinthians 2:8.
Since that time, Satan’s tactics have changed. He’s still concerned about preventing the Word—the Word that was with God and is God (John 1:1)—from reaching people who are under Satan’s dominion. His attack is now two-pronged.
First Satan concentrates on the life and name of Jesus which each and every believer bears as the Lord’s representative. I believe it is important for Christians undergoing persecution to realise the attack they are under is actually directed not at them, but at the life of Jesus in them, a life which they have power to transmit to others.
Satan will make every effort to discredit you, to frighten you and to silence your witness in order that the new life in you stops with you. Sometimes Satan overreaches himself, just as he did at the cross, and sends a believer to a martyr’s grave but that life lives on in other believers who continue to bear witness more gloriously and triumphantly than ever.
That the church not only survives, but grows under such persecution has been demonstrated beautifully by the church in China. After missionaries were forced to leave in 1950, and all ties were cut with the body of Christ, believers were put through the horrible experience of Mao’s Cultural Revolution. Christians were killed or imprisoned, Bibles burned, and the remaining believers scattered all over China. The attack was clearly on the life and name of Jesus as manifested in believer’s lives.
As these sufferers scattered, they took the life of Jesus with them, and just as was the case with the early believers in Jerusalem, “Those who were scattered went about preaching the Word” (Acts 8:4). Now we see the harvest in China as millions of Christians are identified, meeting together for fellowship and worship in remote provinces…
I want others to have the one who makes me happy—Jesus.

Thank You, Lord, for the way You bring good from the evil tactics of the enemy of our soul. Help me stand strong against his attack on the life and name of Jesus in me.

Western Christianity in RNM (Part Two)
Part One: Max and the Messiah (can be found here)
In contrast to Max representing and paralleling the Messiah, the show doesn’t flinch away from doing the same with Jones and the devil. Using the religious undertones and fear behind the fallen angel to depict the very character and trustworthiness of the dictator. The devil being used to further flesh out Jones’ role as an antagonist and villain. The biblical imagery behind his abilities and past pitting the character against the protagonists.
Jones rise as the dictator on the Oasis and the subsequent demolishing of his family and triad are used to parallel Lucifer’s fall. Creating the imagery of a lost soul willing to trade everything for a grasp at power. As Jones himself says in 3x02 “{the dictator} tortured my parents. The day he killed them a part of me died too”. Setting up what Jones was capable of even before the writers revealed that he was the ‘dictator’ and the ‘devil’. Furthermore, in 3x12 when Michael has access to Jones’ mind he claims Jones murdered his triad that “… you murdered your family for power” (John 8:44 … {the devil} was a murder from the beginning…).This concept of a ‘man’ destroying and forsaking his own family including his ‘father’ for the sake of power echoing easily against the story of Lucifer’s fall. The fallen angel reportedly forsook God because he made humans with more power and granted them dominion over the Earth. Jealousy and greed making the angel seek more power at the expense of his own people and God’s love (Jude 1:6 and angels who did not keep their own designated place of power, but abandoned their proper dwelling place… Isaiah 14:13-14 … {Lucifer} saying I will exalt my throne above the stars of God…). This grasp at power at the price of those closest to them and resulting in a ‘fall from heaven’, whether it be Lucifer being cast out or Jones crashing to Earth, uniting both figures.
In addition, the Oasis (and the dragon-fruit tree) are used to symbolize the Garden of Eden, the perfect world before the ‘fall of man’ which made the world belong to the devil and subsequently brought pain and suffering into the world. In that garden a serpent appears to Eve, one who deceives her into causing the fall (Genesis 3:1 now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field..). The devil having taken up the image of a serpent, much like Jones and his followers. As Noah informed Max in 1x13 “we are Ophichus Max! The man and the serpent. The serpent and the man. They’re not killing each other. They are one”. Since Jones had taken up the Ophichus imagery to represent himself and his place on the Oasis. He himself representing what Ophichus is, as pointed out by Clyde in 4x02 “Ophichus will rise again” referring to his triads attempts to resurrect Jones.
Furthermore, Jones much like the devil uses his abilities (healing and empathy) to manipulate the main cast. Throughout the first half of season three Jones uses his own abilities and knowledge of their home world to try and manipulate Isobel, Michael, and Max into trusting him. He does this to further his own needs and wants, so he can make Max’s body healthy and take it for his own benefit. This manipulation continues throughout his stay on the show, as he uses his cunning to try and get Liz to join him in 3x11 as well as to pit the main cast against each other during the events of 3x12. These traits of manipulation and cunning are shared with the devil, as he is claimed to have tricked Eve in the garden of Eden (Revelation 12:9 … as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness..). The devil is characterized by this continued trickery and manipulation (John 8:44 … when {the devil} speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources…). Jones attempts to use his cunning to make himself a sympathetic character, disguise himself as Max’s last hope and the answer to the main casts ‘prayers’.
In addition, to this cunning his attempt to make himself appear like Max parallels the devil’s attempts to appear good. The fact the characters share the same face, and Jones pretends to be Max from 3x05 to 3x07 used to communicate this idea to the audience. Because Jones shares the same physical appearance as the ‘savior’ (2 Corinthians 11:14 …Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light). The idea of Max and Jones being physically the same but different even foreshadowed by Isobel in 2x10 when she tells Max that “Louise said the devil would come. I think something evil was after them, but it wasn’t you”.
Lastly Max’s existence being for the destruction of Jones parallels the coming of the Messiah to defeat the devil. Like Nora created Max as a weapon against the dictator, God made his son flesh so he could overcome Satan (1 John 3:8 …the Son of God was manifested that He might destroy the world of the devil. Hebrews 2:14 …{the Messiah} might destroy him who had power of death, that is, the devil). Something Max accomplishes with the help of the main cast, killing Jones with part of his own sword, which Michael gives to him. Much like how the archangel Michael fights the dragon (the devil) in Revelations 12:7, and binds him in hell.

Worthy Brief - April 22, 2024
Expect His coming!
Micah 4:8;5:2 And thou, O tower of the flock, the strong hold of the daughter of Zion, unto thee shall it come, even the first dominion; the kingdom shall come to the daughter of Jerusalem. But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.
There are many who are not aware of the very deep significance of Bethlehem, Yeshua's (Jesus') birthplace. Everyone knows that Bethlehem was a place where shepherds grazed their sheep, and where the Messiah was to be born, but do not realize that it was a town designated as the birthing place for lambs which were used for the Passover sacrifice. The Scriptures give significant details about this little town lying slightly south of Jerusalem.
In Micah 4:8 we read about the "watchtower of the flock", or in Hebrew, "Migdal Edar." According to the "Life and Times of Jesus the Messiah", by Alfred Edersheim, a Jewish believer in the late 1800's, Migdal Edar was the location where the Messiah was to be revealed. This watchtower stood as a place of protection for the city from approaching enemies, but it was also utilized by shepherds to watch over the specific flocks from which sacrificial Passover lambs were taken.
The shepherds who were tending these particular flocks were no ordinary shepherds. They were specifically trained by the Rabbis for a holy task. They had to insure that, as much as possible, every lamb was free of any blemish or injury, in order to be used for the Passover sacrifice. Since they were instructed by the Rabbis, they almost certainly knew of those passages in the Targums (Aramaic translations) and the Mishna associating the birth of the Messiah with "Migdal Edar". For example, Migdal Edar is translated in one of the Targums as "The Anointed One of the Flock of Israel." It is also written in the Mishna that "He spread his tent beyond Migdal Edar, the place where King Messiah will reveal Himself at the end of days."
Pete, those shepherds had strong hints of Messiah's advent in the very town where they lived so that when the angelic host appeared announcing his arrival, they responded immediately and went to worship Him. We too have increasing signs of His soon Second Coming. Are we also prepared to respond? Our readiness to act in faith and worship will show how well we understand the signs of our own times. With so much work to be done, let us stay awake and be inspired by the expectation of his soon arrival – for, just like those shepherds of Bethlehem, we truly were born for such a time as this!

The Psalm 132 is a song of praise towards the wisdom of God and David's faithfulness to his creator. The Psalm begins by recalling the transfer of the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem after the conquest of the city and David's oath to God. After securing the borders of his kingdom, David obtained a time of peace and prosperity that allowed him to begin the project of the first temple of Jerusalem on Mount Zion.
And with these words, the psalm relates how King David with devotion promised a spiritual house for God in the holy city of Jerusalem:
"He swore an oath to the LORD,
he made a vow to the Mighty One of Jacob:
´I will not enter my house
or go to my bed,
I will allow no sleep to my eyes
or slumber to my eyelids,
till I find a place for the LORD,
a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob.´" Psalm 132:2-5.
And this promise of David had a response from God, the Lord made a pact with David through the prophet Nathan, God promised King David a savior messiah who would establish a celestial Zion.
With these words the Psalm remembers the Davidic Covenant:
"The LORD swore an oath to David,
a sure oath he will not revoke:
´One of your own descendants
I will place on your throne" Psalm 132:11.
This Psalm has a special meaning for the Christian faith because in its last part, this song anticipates a new covenant between God and men and the arrival of Lord Jesus with the promises of the kingdom of God, the dominion or empire of the divine perfections. And this heavenly Zion, related with Jesus, was especially specified by the apostle Paul in his epistle to the Hebrews; to refer to the new rest of God and to the place to which all those saved in the name of the Lord Jesus are called to go.
