Well, there's so little opportunity for fun left in my life, I agree. We position ourselves on either side of Peeta, lean over until our faces are inches from his nose, and give him a shake. “Peeta. Peeta, wake up,” I say in a soft, singsong voice.

His eyelids flutter open and then he jumps like we've stabbed him. “Aa!”

Finnick and I fall back in the sand, laughing our heads off.

When I recently reread the series, this moment was just pure gold. It was so funny and silly but it also felt so earned among the rest of the books and it’s such a great way to start off their alliance. They deserved this moment so much.

Also, it’s not mentioned that they’re making faces but I couldn’t resist and had so much fun with it. :D

EDIT: OMG I just realised I screwed up the reading direction! I have no idea how that happened and I noticed just when I was about to post it. Well, it’s a manga now?! 🙈

Okay okay I agree with everyone talking about the possibility of Pluto finally getting to go to France and meeting Duke in one of his shows, but I now raise you: What if they met BEFORE and Duke was actually the one to tell him about France and the lights and everything. What if Duke were the reason he wanted to go there in the first place. What then.

#bwark #so historically as of psmd in the timeline it was believed that the pokemon found in dungeons were real #so after going to the voidlands and learning that every pokemon there is a phantom it's proposed that more research is done on existing #dungeons in the real world #and espeon and umbreon being the top dungeon researchers that they are learn that the pokemon in regular dungeons aren't actually real #either and they only become tangible forms after bonding with rescue teams through shared aura from battling #the leading theory is that dungeons are sentient and do this to protect themselves #and this is all common knowledge as of the ttb era #also before anybody says anything i was catching up on the rogue team last night and now i am aware that something very similar was done in #that comic and i promise it's just a coincidence LMAO #ive had this idea for a few months at least and i hadn't read those pages before last night #it was my way of avoiding the town vs wild conflict that's a theme in obt. respect to obt for tackling that but i'm personally not #comfortable with doing my own take on that and i feel better about them not being real at first #tbh it fits more with ttb's themes of connection and identity #like pokemon like dexter despise the way they were created because she feels she has no identity #but the pokemon that come from dungeons are a lot more humble and are just grateful to be alive

When you say the comics do not matter to the game because they happen after mortal kombat x do you mean that the comics are not a prequel or they were just published after the game? Because I thought they were a prequel so I am a bit lost

Sorry for the confusion

The events told inside the mkx comics lead into mkx, they are a prequel to mkx as they are meant to be some sort of bridge between mk9 and mkx. They tell us, among other things, how takeda came into the shirai ryu and became so close to hanzo, how kuai liang became the new lin kuei grandmaster and how he got his scar, how kotal came into power in outworld and had his beef with mileena, and so on.

BUT

the story in mkx the video game was written BEFORE the mkx comics, by different people too. Everything in the comics is based on what happens in the game (plus a few behind-the-scenes pointers Im sure), so when takeda in the comics is saying jacqui is pretty, its a reference/"foreshadowing" to their romance that happens in-game.

The game came first the comics came second. When I say that the comics dont matter in regard of whats happening in the game, its because the game wasnt written with the comics in mind, its the other way around.

Its like if people got mad that in star wars, nobody in the original trilogy aknowledges that C3PO was built by Darth Vader even tho thats new information from the prequels made 16 years later

#I hope its less confusing now #but GOD. do I not like these comics. theyre edgy and bad and weird and they do not have the same vibes as mkx for real #everyone is kinda so ooc in them also???#btw. if you look at the dates. the comics released before the game dropped BUT. only four months beforehand #the game normally shouldve been DONE at that point and only needed some tweaks. and game-making is longer than comic-making #so even if the dates dont add up at first glace i am POSITIVE the game was written first. so there. you have my thoughts.#tagging later #anon
