My desire for an S2 Elise grows every day…

Lotus Elise at Waukesha Cars & Coffee (2023) - Meet 6 in Waukesha, WI.  

Elise is shown drawing a lemon at the very start of this episode, which is a very cool way to translate how she's expression of Mori as well as gives an early look into what Mori's plan is going to be, that is to employ Kajii in a bombing strategy. The visual storytelling is very effective here. Elise's drawings in the anime seem to always have some kind of relation to the current plot, as already established in episode 1x11:

here, symbolizing how Akutagawa is in danger and likely to die (and funny enough also foreshadowing his actual death in season 5, though that must have been a coincidence).

Then, it makes me question her next drawing, because it can't be put there mindlessly; and it's also nearly certain to be representing Akutagawa, since it's the prominent center of Mori's monologue. Although here the similarities are harder to draw... First thing that comes to my mind is how the art is supposedly representing a dragon (the fire from his mouth, the striped belly, the scales on the back), and you know, 龍, Ryuu. Also, the way Mori is currently talking about Akutagawa as this unstoppable destructive force, and here the monster looks like destroying everything it encounters. The dominant red might be a further link to Akutagawa also.

At 50% cheaper than the Elan S2 and a third of the price of an Esprit, it would become Lotus’ best-selling sports car ever.Styled by Julian Thomson, engineered by his best friend Richard Rackham and named after the granddaughter of Lotus (and Bugatti) chairman Romano Artioli.The Elise pioneered epoxy-bonded anodised aluminium extrusions as a means of constructing a road car chassis.A simple, high-sided tub with transverse torque boxes at both ends, it is exceptionally stiff – on a par with steel saloon bodies – and exceptionally light, at just 68kg without the body and rollbar, keeping the weight of the whole car to less than 750kg and making it a phenomenal performer without needing outrageous power.Steel is used only for the rollbar, galvanised rear subframe and bonded-in suspension mounts.The Rover K-series engine and gearbox were lifted unchanged from the MGF and various Rovers, but it was somehow happier in the Elise than in any of its original hosts.With double overhead cams, 16 valves and all-aluminium construction making it very light, it was more like a race-car engine than a road-car one, and, like the Triumph Stag engine in the ’70s, needed more monitoring and maintenance than lesser power units.

ngl i DO think it's fun and cool when other people give Steve a more "ethnic" background, (for lack of a better word 😅) and I've read several enjoyable fics with this premise! but.

He is fundamentally WASPy to me, personally. Like, I feel like he was kind of written that way? I mean, I guess MOST of the characters were, so it's hard to say. (🙄) But I don't think he would've been able to achieve the social status he had initially, otherwise.

Even Catholicism is a stretch for me. I have multiple Little Old Mexican Lady relatives who currently have framed photos or commemorative plates featuring JFK proudly on display in their homes, which I can only assume is because he was the first Catholic president? Which gives me some context to what historical stigma there may have been. I don't think Hawkins, being the small conservative town it is, would be warm and welcoming to practicing Catholics.

(But then again, I'm pretty sure the show's been inconsistent about what size the town is and what the community's like anyway, so 🤷🏻‍♀️)
