I am interested in a comprehensive list of all the different names Jaskier is given in various translations. It would be fascinating to explore the meanings behind each name and any symbolism they might carry. I plan to group together languages that use the same name for him.

Jaskier: His name resonates universally, transcending languages and cultures. In Polish, French, Portuguese, Romanian, Bulgarian, Russian, and Spanish, Jaskier translates to Buttercup. These small yellow flowers symbolize joy and happiness, evoking images of carefree days and childlike wonder. They also represent youth and innocence, which aligns with theories about Jaskier's non-human origins. Another significant symbolism of buttercups is their friendship connection, fitting perfectly with Jaskier's close bond with Geralt. Historically, buttercups were used in folk medicine, symbolizing healing and protection, despite their toxicity and the need for careful handling.

Dandelion: Known from the English, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Belarusian, and Turkish translations. Perhaps the most familiar name, Dandelion, typically appears in two forms: small white, fluffy flowers that can be blown away by the wind and bright yellow blooms. Dandelions symbolize resilience, thriving in challenging conditions and growing almost anywhere, symbolizing perseverance, strength, and the ability to overcome obstacles. Historically used in medicine, dandelions are associated with healing and survival. They also symbolize a connection to nature and freedom, perfectly reflecting the bard’s character. Marigold: Used in Czech and Serbian translations, this name is perhaps the most unusual since there is already a character named Marigold in the series. Nonetheless, marigolds symbolize brightness and positivity. With their vibrant yellow and orange hues, marigolds represent warmth, cheerfulness, and the light of life. This fits well with a bard’s role, as marigolds also symbolize creativity. In Mexican culture, marigolds are central to Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebrations, symbolizing the connection between the living and the dead. In Indian culture, marigolds are used in religious rituals and weddings, symbolizing love, devotion, and the divine. They are often offered to gods and goddesses as a sign of reverence and respect.

Ranonkel: From Dutch, though translated to Ranunculus, which are buttercups. I'd like to discuss the story from Greek mythology that relates to Ranunculus, as it aligns with Jaskier's character. Ranunculus was a handsome and talented young man known for his beautiful singing voice, captivating everyone who heard him. However, he was also vain and self-centred, revelling in the admiration he received. One day, while performing in a meadow, Ranunculus encountered a group of wood nymphs (dryads). Enchanted by his voice and appearance, the nymphs stopped to listen. Despite their admiration, Ranunculus ignored them, focusing solely on his performance and delighting in his own voice. Pan, the god associated with rustic wilderness and nymphs, observed Ranunculus's vanity. To teach him a lesson, Pan intervened. He transformed Ranunculus into a delicate, beautiful flower that would forever bloom in meadows and fields—the Ranunculus flower. This mythological tale is an intriguing parallel to Jaskier's character and could potentially inspire a fanfiction story in the future.

Valvatti from Finnish. Valvatti, which, from what I can tell, translates to Sow Thistle, can symbolize resilience but can also symbolize unseen beauty. Despite being considered a weed, sow thistle produces small, yellow flowers that symbolize hidden beauty or overlooked potential. This can remind you to look beyond outward appearances and appreciate hidden qualities.

Rittersporn German. Otherwise known as Larkspurs, they can symbolize openness and lightness with their vibrant colours. They can also be used as symbols for thickness and are connected to strong bonds of love. Some cultures believe that larkspurs offer protection against negative energies or bad luck. Placing them in a garden or a bouquet is thought to bring positivity and ward off evil spirits.

Vėdrynas is From Lithuanian. Breaking from the flowers, Vedryans translates to Lark, which can be seen as the bringers of dawn and the start of a new day. Larks are symbols of songs and music, which goes great with a Bard. Larks are agile birds that soar high in the sky, symbolizing freedom, independence, and the ability to rise above challenges or limitations.

Blyskáč is from Czech. It translates to "sparkler" or "firecracker" in English. Once again, breaking from the typical flower names, blyskac can symbolize celebration. The firecrackers' brightness and sparkle evoke joy, optimism, and positivity. They are often associated with bringing good luck and warding off evil spirits in various cultural traditions. Firecrackers and sparklers burn brightly but quickly fade away. They symbolize the fleeting nature of moments and encourage living in the present and appreciating life's transient beauty.

Request (Angst- Friendship broke) - Max Verstappen 1

Y/N and Max have known each other since their karting days and have a friendship that is highly admired by fans and the media. The American raced for Alpha Tauri and achieved historic results with the team, which made her a strong candidate for the position at Red Bull. However, as the team made it clear to her that they were going to put Daniel Ricciardo in the seat, she accepted a million-dollar proposal from Ferrari, as it is a team that has the necessary structure to take her to the world championship. However, Max saw this change as a betrayal, as they always dreamed of running together. The Dutch cut off his friendship with her, leaving her devastated, he broke her heart when Max stopped looking at her face and pretended she didn't exist, both in the paddock and in Monaco, where they live. They face a brutal battle for the 2024 title, a more tense championship than 2021, as it involves a whole sentimental context between them, and Y/N wins the championship and Max is disconcerted.

Asher is Chilean (meaning his parents are from Chile)

Sweetheart is Chinese (born in China, their parents were farmers, Sweetheart helped their father grow crops)

David is half American (his dad) and half middle eastern (his mom is Syrian)

Babe is half Japanese (their father) and half Dutch (their mother), but their father was abusive to their mother when she was pregnant, so the mom was scared he would hurt her child too when it gets born, so she abandoned Babe somewhere in Japan, and a Korean family visiting Japan found them and took them in, but the Korean family lives in Australia, so now Babe mostly and usually identifies as Korean and Australian, but when they found out about their bio parents, they learned Dutch and Japanese on top of them already knowing Korean and English

Babe and Angel have known each other since they were six, they kept the friendship for their whole lives but they couldn’t always be together since they had different lives, but when they started dating Asher and David they didn’t know about each others parter until David and Ash decided to introduce them to one another, they realized that life had brought them together yet again and from that moment on they knew they were soulmates They were like “omg this is the guy you were texting me about” “who knew that our boyfriends are best friends” “I didn’t know that when David said Asher now has a mate it meant YOU” “how have you been? it seems like fate keeps bringing us back together, my soulmate”

1725 – South Africa: Leendert Hasenbosch (c.1695–1725), a Dutch East India Company employee, is convicted of sodomy on a ship in Capetown. He’s left on Ascension Island as punishment and dies of thirst six months later. He kept a diary entitled Sodomy Punish’d which was published in 1726. In 2006 the full story was published by Alex Ritsema, with the support of Koolbergen’s family and publisher, in the book A Dutch Castaway on Ascension Island in 1725; a second, revised edition was printed in 2010.

1857 – Maine sets a one-year minimum for sodomy and eliminates the word "detestable" from the sodomy law.

1897 – Born: Pulitzer Prize-winning American playwright and novelist Thornton Wilder (d.1975), a prolific writer prominent in twentieth-century literature. A discreet homosexual, his sexual proclivities were kept far out of the limelight. Wilder's mainstream literary works are landmarks of American literature, but they reveal scant traces of his homosexuality. He can be credited for acting as a behind-the-scenes ambassador for the Lost Generation, making their avant-garde themes accessible to a middle-brow American public.

Wilder was born in Wisconsin though he spent most of his boyhood in Berkeley, California. As an adolescent, Wilder isolated himself in academic projects. Wilder's entire family was one of achieving, industrious, self-reliant Congregationalists with a strong work ethic.His roving intellectual enthusiasms blossomed in his adolescence, especially his interest in theater. At fifteen the budding playwright was cast as Lady Bracknell in Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest, but his strict father forbade this drag role. Later, Wilder delighted in playing central characters in his own plays, such as the Stage Manager in Our Town and Mr. Antrobus in The Skin of Our Teeth.

Wilder described himself as "The only writer of the Lost Generation who did not 'go' to Paris," a statement that was not literally true but which expresses his attachment to American life and values even as many of the writers of his generation yearned to escape what they saw as the stifling conformity of small-town life.

Wilder's warmest friendships included Gertrude Stein and Alice Toklas whom he met in Chicago in 1934. Through them he befriended many of the gay artists in their circle. For all the liberation of the Jazz Age and the period following, homosexuality was only discreetly discussed among writers of the Lost Generation.

Wilder seems to have been regarded even by his closest friends as a kind of Henry James figure, somewhat sheltered and cerebral, and frightened of sex. The relationship between Wilder and his one documented companion, Sam Steward, (aka Phil Andros) may have begun as a furtive sexual fling in Zurich in 1937. Steward, a writer, pornographer, tattoo artist, and one-time college professor, was, in pointed contrast to Wilder, open and adventurous. He wrote popular erotic gay works in the 1970s under the pseudonym Phil Andros. Wilder seems to have backed away from Steward after several awkward encounters. Intimate affection eventually became fond intellectual acquaintance.

Typical of some gay men of the era, Wilder preferred to play the role of the perennial Respectable Bachelor. Although he never publicly discussed his homosexuality, later in his life he is believed to have had discreet affairs with younger men. Despite his reticence concerning his sexuality, Wilder was a notably convivial man who enjoyed friendships with writers and actors and academics.

Wilder is the only writer to receive Pulitzer Prizes for both literature (The Bridge of San Luis Rey, 1927) and drama (Our Town, 1938; The Skin of Our Teeth, 1943).

During World War II, Wilder enlisted in the armed services, eventually becoming a Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force. In the 1940s, Wilder also wrote the screenplay for Alfred Hitchcock's Shadow of a Doubt (1943).

After the war, he reworked an earlier play, The Merchant of Yonkers (1938), a comedy set in New York in the 1880s, that features the adventures of a neighborhood matchmaker, Dolly Levi, who eventually snares herself the perfect husband. It was not much of a success originally, but it became The Matchmaker (1955), a popular vehicle for Ruth Gordon, and it evolved into the even more popular Jerry Herman-Michael Stewart musical Hello, Dolly! (1964).

Thornton Wilder died on December 7, 1975. In Wilder's public and personal life, the "love that dared not speak its name" usually remained unspoken. One can only wonder whether he might have addressed more explicitly the question of homosexuality (and its repression) had he lived in a more tolerant time or place.

1919 – Chavela Vargas is a household name in Mexico but many North Americans aren’t privy to one of the most passionate performers of the last century. The queer masculine-presenting singer was prized for her tragic, tearful emoting — her songs appear in Pedro Almodovar films like Flower of My Secret.

A late bloomer, perhaps, but what a flower — Chavela Vargas did not release her first album until she was 42, didn't come out as a lesbian until she was 81, and didn't debut at Carnegie Hall until she was 83.

What was she doing all those years before recording Noche de Bohemia in 1961? Well, she dressed as a man, often in her signature red jorongo, smoked cigars, drank heavily, and packed a pistol, so obviously she was busy with more than singing rancheras in the streets. And maybe she had an affair with famed Mexican painter, Frida Kahlo (as Josephine Baker had).

Since that first record, she has released more than eighty albums. Her great fame of the 1960s and 70s subsided when she retired to battle her alcoholism. She returned to performing at 72 in 1991 in Mexico City. Since then her music has been widely used in films and she has appeared singing in several movies including Almodovar's Flower of My Secret, Julie Taymor's Frida, and Alejandro Innartu's Babel.

Buy her, beware: The first time you hear Chavela unleash her power midway through the quiet Paloma Negra you might drop whatever you're holding. She died in 2012 at 93.

Lindsay Anderson with Malcolm McDowell

1923 – Born: Film and stage director Lindsay Anderson (d.1994), a foundational figure in the "Free Cinema" movement of the 1950s, a group of British filmmakers who created low-scale realist works that focused on the ordinary or the socially marginalized, particularly the working class and the younger generation. A leader among such peers as Karel Reisz, Tony Richardson, Gavin Lambert, and John Schlesinger, Anderson was influential in shaping what now might well be considered the golden age of British cinema in the 1960s. Ironically, as a result of his independence and idealism, he directed relatively few major films, and both his professional and personal lives were affected by the repression and sublimation of his homosexuality.

Anderson was born in Bangalore, India, where his father was a captain in the British army. His family sent him to Cheltenham, an English private school, where he met his lifelong friend and colleague, Gavin Lambert, who like Anderson, was not only gay but would also enjoy a significant directorial career. Subsequently, Anderson attended Oxford University, where he specialized in Classics and later co-founded the film journal Sequence with Lambert. In his essays and reviews in Sequence and other journals, Anderson took aim against the conventions of contemporary British cinema, which tended to avoid controversy and favored the lives and loves of the upper middle class as its subject matter.

Anderson's first films were short semi-documentary studies, looking at the everyday activities of the lower classes. Yet while Anderson had paved the way for feature films about the lives of working-class individuals, such as those that Richardson, Reisz, and Schlesinger directed throughout the early 1960s, he left filmmaking in 1957, when he became a director at the Royal Court Theatre, London. In this capacity Anderson directed many major theatrical works, including the 1975 revival of Joe Orton's What the Butler Saw, the first unexpurgated performance of the play.

It was not until 1963, that he made his first feature film, This Sporting Life, which, in detailing the career of a young coal miner turned professional footballer, seemed to follow rather than lead then-current trends. As such, it was not a commercial success, yet it is significant inasmuch as its depiction of the frustration and the emotional and physical violence that characterize the lives of ostensibly heterosexual working-class men has an inescapable homoerotic undercurrent, as seen in the film's nude bathing scenes.

Many of these themes, although in a very different context, recur in Anderson's best known film, If... (1968). Set in a British private school--indeed, filmed at Cheltenham--the film explores the social fascism that is inculcated in such privileged institutions and ends with student rebels machine-gunning a school assembly. It is also noteworthy for its frank representation of homosexual relationships among the schoolboys.Although If... was well-received as a cinematic political statement in the zeitgeist of the late 1960s, Anderson's subsequent films, though often equally daring, fared less well. O Lucky Man! (1973), the second of a trilogy featuring the character Mick Travis, the protagonist of If... (played by Malcolm McDowell), is a rambling three-hour satire in the mode of Voltaire's Candide on the evils of military-industrial capitalism and scientific experimentation. Ambitious and idealistic, the film was nonetheless a commercial failure, and, as a result, Anderson had few offers or financial backers for subsequent film projects. The third film of the trilogy, the cult classic Britannia Hospital (1982), is a satire on the British national health service. During the 1970s and 1980s, Anderson continued to direct for the stage and directed a number of television plays.

On August 30, 1994, he died of a heart attack while in southern France. Despite Anderson's daring as a director, his recently published letters and Lambert's biography show a tormented man who struggled with his own sexuality. He tended to fall in love with his leading men, including Richard Harris, Albert Finney, and Malcolm McDowell, all of whom were heterosexual, married, and unattainable. His closest associates have speculated that his life was, for the most part, a celibate one. His films, in which homoerotic elements are often presented in a violent or disturbing manner, became the outlet for the desires he could not express in life.

1943 – Tommy Nutter (d.1992), was a British tailor, famous for reinventing the Savile Row suit in the 1960s.

Born in Barmouth, Nutter initially studied plumbing, and then architecture, but he abandoned both aged 19 to study tailoring at the Tailor and Cutter Academy.

In the early 1960s he joined traditional tailors Donaldson, Williamson & Ward. After seven years, in 1969, he joined up with Edward Sexton, to open Nutters of Savile Row at No 35a Savile Row. They were financially backed by Cilla Black and her husband Bobby Willis, Managing Director of the Beatles' Apple Corps Peter Brown, and lawyer James Vallance-White.

The business was an immediate success, as Nutter combined traditional tailoring skills with innovative design. He designed for the Hardy Amies range, and then for the man himself. His clients included his investors, plus Sir Roy Strong, Mick Jagger, Bianca Jagger and Elton John. Nutter himself was most proud of the fact that, for the cover of The Beatles' album Abbey Road in 1969, he dressed three out of the four: George Harrison elected to be photographed on the road-crossing in denims.

In the 1970s he branched out into ready to wear clothing, marketed through Austin Reed. In 1976 Sexton bought Nutter out of the Business. Sexton continued to run Nutters of Savile Row until 1983, when Nutter returned to the row with a ready to wear shop: "Tommy Nutter, Savile Row". (This new venture, which traded at No 19 Savile Row until Tommy's death, was backed by J&J Crombie Limited, who continue to own the "Tommy Nutter" trademark.)

In the 1980s, he described his suits as a "cross between the big-shouldered Miami Vice look and the authentic Savile Row." He created the clothing of The Joker worn by Jack Nicholson in the 1989 film Batman.

Nutter died in 1992 at the Cromwell Hospital in London of complications from AIDS.

1967 – About 150 people attended a public meeting in Wellington, New Zealand on 17 April 1967 to form a society to work for homosexual law reform. It called itself the Wolfenden Association, but it soon became the New Zealand Homosexual Law Reform Society. Lord Cobham, a former governor-general, was invited to become its patron. His letter to the society secretary, Jack Goodwin, declining patronage was blunt and expressed a common attitude:

'These people are mentally sick to as great an extent as, for example, people suffering from smallpox are sick. The whole problem of legalizing this offence seems to me to hinge upon the extent to which the disease is contagious.'

2013 – Marriage equality passes in the New Zealand Parliament 77-44.

Day 1 - Safety Net

Friend Material - Jamie gets beaten up, lies to Ted about why he is hurt, Dani comes to try and help him feel better but ends up leading a seminar on the magic of friendship

“I do, get that,” Dani began. He kept his voice quiet and soft like he was talking to a skittish racehorse not a premier league footballer. “I prefer to think of it like a safety net. You hope to never need it but when you need it most it is there to catch you. Friends should always catch you when you need it most.”

Day 2 - "They don't care about you."

Snap Chapter 3 - Jane kicks Beard out and he calls Jamie for a drink together to take his mind off it

Day 3 - Broken

A Treatment Room Doors Moment Chapter 1 - What if Roy was the one to see James Tartt Sr throw a boot at his son? It would have gone a lot differently

Sometimes it is the smallest of moments that change lives. That moment could be catching a train or it could be viewed through the window of a Treatment Room door.

In one scenario, an American in London stumbles upon an old protégé in a perilous situation facing down his own blood. The American walks away, that moment is seemingly forgotten but it shapes both their lives in seen and unseen ways.

In one scenario, a veteran of the sport has played his last as the young starlet contemplates his future while faced with his past. One rescues the other, leading to their fates being intertwined.

We've seen how the first scenario plays out. This story follows what might have happened if it had been the second instead.

Day 4 - "You in there?"

Have You Noticed You Are Breathing Chapter 7 - Jamie overexerted himself the night before and struggles to sleep with the pain and whirring of his brain. Ted recruits David Attenborough, Henry Lasso and some cute hamsters to help him make Jamie feel better

Day 5 - "You better pray I don't get up this time around."

Maybe Next Time He'll Think Chapter 1 - Jamie takes in his dad after he leaves rehab but they get into an argument and Jamie hospitalises his dad. He calls Keeley for help and she has to deal with the consequences

The reconciliation between the Tartt men had been a constant worry in the back of Keeley's mind. She compared it to a ticking time bomb. You didn't know when it was going to go but it would and it never let you forget it.

She didn't think that Jamie would be the one to blow though

Day 6 - Recording

Dutch Courage Ch3 - Jamie starts to let other people in and return to life as normal as others realise what Jamie is going through. However a spanner is thrown into the works when Jamie recieves a video from his stalker

Day 7 - Radio Silence

Missing in Play Action - Ted leaves to go play in the MLS after Ted says no to taking him back to Richmond. He cuts off all contact and seems to be a shadow of himself. Keeley tasks Ted and Beard with going and checking in on him

Ted hadn't thought about Jamie Tartt since that ill fated night in the Crown and Anchor where he turned Jamie away. When Keeley wants Ted to check on a friend who is ghosting her while he's over the pond back in the USA, he doesn't plan on mending bridges but it's a good job he always has his hammer ready to go.

Day 8 - Overcrowded ER

Roll Call Chapter 2 - Dani and Colin arrive at the hospital. In the chaos Colin tries to communicate with Richmond but Dani has a bad concussion and needs his friend.

Day 9 - "You're a liar."

A Treatment Room Doors Moment Chapter 2 - Roy deals with the aftermath of his injury. Jamie deals with the aftermath of his altercation with his father. Corwin has to deal with both of them, the poor soul. But Roy and Jamie somehow find some comfort in each other.

Day 10 - Aftermath of Failure

Where the Hell is the Karma? Chapter 3 - Roy panics and tries to hold together the Richmond crew as the police search for the missing Jamie Tartt

Day 11 - Captivity

Where the Hell is the Karma? Chapter 2 - Jamie is taken in the boot of his own car by Bug and Denbo. He is locked in a basement room where time passes and he starts to panic that no one is looking for him. Because surely they would have found him by now ... Right?

Day 12 - Insomnia

One Step Out of Time Chapter 1 - Jamie panics when his dad gets out of rehab. Roy does everything he can try and get Jamie to just go to sleep!

Jamie thought he was rebuilding a relationship with his father. He thought he would be fine when James Tartt Sr was back out into the world as a free sober man. Jamie was wrong on all counts. Now Jamie can't sleep no matter what he tries and why is Roy being so goddamn nice to him all of a sudden?

Jamie explores his relationship with his father, his relationship with his Roy and his relationship with the concept of a relationship all while trying to hold onto his own sanity

Day 13 - "I don't feel so good."

Roll Call Chapter 3 - Sam contends with a dislocated shoulder and tries tog et himself to hospital. Colin struggles with having to be the responsible one and Sam battles the trolls

Day 14 - "Just hold on"

Maybe Next Time He'll Think Ch2 - Jamie is released on bail and ... doesn’t handle it well. Keeley overworks. Beard is the only rational person in this whole house and Doc Sharon sets everyone on the right path

Day 15 - "I'm fine."

Snap Chapter 5 - Jamie calls a meeting but Beard struggles with always being the bridesmaid to Ted's bride after Ted's funeral based breakdown

Day 16 - "Just lie with me and forget the world"

Make Me Fret Chapter 4 - Jamie is released from hospital and has to hide out at Roy's to avoid the vultures. Rupert loses everything but still tries to turn his army of keyboard wankers on Jamie. All Jamie wants is to get back out on the pitch and prove everyone wrong

Day 17 - "Leave me alone"

Like a Black Hole - Jamie's POV of his return to Man City as he implodes

Jamie really feels like he's turned a corner at AFC Richmond and maybe this is his chance to grow like Ted wanted him to.

Then the rug gets pulled out from underneath him

Day 18 - "I tend to deflect when I am feeling threatened"

Snap Chapter 4 - Jamie is getting fed up of being the Richmond whipping boy and wants to be able to snark back ... but he's worried about finding the line between banter and prickdom

Day 19 - "I'm not as stupid as you think I am."

Forgetting How These Things Always Go - Jamie is still around Richmond for Nate's tough love speech and gets teased for being a "weak little baby". He doesn't take it well

Roy doesn't know what to think when the kitman starts roasting the team he works for with the permission of their coach. But the one thing he does know is Jamie does not react to it well

Day 20 - Found Family

It Takes a Village (or a Professional Football Team) - Roy is ill and cannot attend Phoebe's Cup Final. Jamie organises it so that Roy can watch and the whole Richmond crew come down to support her

Roy Kent is sick, Ruth O'Sullivan is at work, Phoebe O'Sullivan has a very important cup final. With both of Jamie's favourite Kents sad, he needs to come up with a plan to make sure this day is the best it can be. This is a job for Uncle Jamie.

Day 21 - Restraints

Where the Hell is the Karma? Chapter 1 - Jamie is kidnapped by Bug and Denbo when they try to rob his house to get money

He had been at Ola’s with Sam. Sam was one of the only teammates that had stayed in London and was just doing admin at the restaurant so Jamie, being the clingy little shit he was, just went to go bless Sam with his presence. It was late when the taxi pulled up and Jamie was tired and ready for bed. He unlocked his door, turned to bolt it and then black.

Bug and Denbo look for an easy pay day robbing the son of their friend and end up with Jamie in peril, none of his friends aware enough to help and no one with a clue how to get out of this situation with their sanity, limbs and freedom intact

Day 22 - Vehicular Accident

Roll Call Chapter 1 - The Richmond team bus is involved in a major collision. Colin is the least hurt of all the first team and has to deal with the aftermath

Colin heard the accident before he saw it. “Fucking idiot,” Jeff cursed from the back of the bus. Before Colin could turn there was an almighty crunch followed by an ear-splitting tearing sound. Colin’s head snapped to the side with a jerk and he felt weightless for a moment. Time slowed. The bus skidded.

AFC Richmond end up in a bus accident on the way to a game and Colin has to contend with the near death of his closest friends

Day 23 - Stalking

Dutch Courage Chapter 1 - Jamie has been dealing with having a stalker. Everyone tells him it is fine apart from Jan Maas who takes him home to keep him safe.

Jan Maas is well aware of the ways his teammates can be idiots but this was a new low. Sitting around assuming everything would be ok when a crazed fan has been following your every moment and apparently knows where you live ... Jamie had lost his mind!

Day 24 - Neglect

Gonna Know My Name Chapter 1 - Baby!Jamie meets his hero Roy Kent realising that he is his best friend's uncle. Roy starts to learn a bit more about Jamie and gets suspicious of his home life

Roy Kent meets a child prodigy at his outreach day at Phoebe's school and is immediately fascinated with his niece's new best friend. When it turns out the young family is struggling, Roy can relate more than they think and decides to lend a hand adding to his small family.

Day 25 - Panic

Make Me Fret Chapter 3 - Roy is convinced by the war room that he is the best option to tell Jamie that his accident wasn't an accident. Jamie panics and takes it badly

Day 26 - "You look awful"

Where the Hell is the Karma? Ch5 - Jamie reunites with his family and friends in Manchester. Recovery is a long frustrating road for all out of Jamie, Roy, Georgie and Simon including steps forward and paparazzi induced set backs

Day 27 - "Let me see."

Dutch Courage Chapter 2 - Jamie settles in to Jan's house. The team continue to be lax about Jamie's safety, the stalker escalates and Jamie ain't no snitch

Day 28 - "You'll have to go through me."

Call a Responsible Adult (you promised) - James Tartt Sr makes an appearance and beats up Jamie while he is looking after Phoebe. Phoebe calls Roy to come save Jamie

Jamie is asked to pick Phoebe up from school while her mother and uncle are working. Jamie's father is released from rehab without Jamie being informed. Together these facts spell disaster.

Day 29 - "I only sink deeper, the deeper I think"

Thuiskomen - Jamie spirals worrying about meeting his boyfriend's parents for the first time

Jan wants his long term boyfriend Jamie to come to the Netherlands to meet his family for Christmas. Initially Jamie panics and ropes in Roy to pull him out of the destructive thought spiral but in the end all he needs to do is take a leap of faith.

Day 30 - "Its ok to say I'm not ok"

It's Not Lost, You Just Don't Know Where It's Gone - Roy torments Jamie on another bike ride confessing that it is the anniversary of his grandad's death and he regrets burning Blankie. Turns out that Jamie accidentally saved Blankie but didn't know this old blanket was important to anyone

Roy and Jamie go cycling again when Roy is struggling with his feelings. Their chat turns to nostalgia and thinking about that ghost fire. Roy tells Jamie about the blanket he regrets burning ... which puts Jamie in an awkward situation for many reasons. 1) Jamie didn't burn the boots his mum gave him 2) And he just lied to Roy about that 3) Roy's blanket didn't burn either 4) And he's just lied to Roy about that as well

Day 31 - "Take it easy"

A Lasso Tartt Kent Jones Sutton O'Sullivan Welton Beard Family Christmas Chapter 1 - This is the first Christmas with all parts of Jamie's family together, and so he has multiple panic attacks about it

Jamie Tartt wants to bring together his new and old family for the festive season. It somehow ends with all the people that have come to care about Jamie coming together in celebration.

Despite that ... Jamie is stressed

Hey, quick question: am I now allowed to hold "your ancestors blood-eagled their victims" over every WASP I see? No real reason I'm asking, just out of curiosity.

Every single time someone mentions indigenous violence in a bid to make the public consider the indigenous tribes of history morally gray, I guarantee you it is not to point out how indigenous societies are complex, because the thought typically ends on a commonly-recognized image of indigenous brutality: scalpings, Aztec human sacrifice, slavery, tribal wars.

Others' understanding of our history stops at ancient acts of violence to which we must forever be chained. Even though, according to that logic, we ought to hold modern-day Romans accountable for how their ancestors horrifically crucified people.

Indigenous acts of peace, coexistence, and alliance, on the other hand, are conveniently and routinely ignored. None of you in this Chili's have heard of the Two-Row wampum and it shows. I have legit never heard a single non-Native bring it up, mostly because people in general have never heard of it. And the reason they've never heard of it is because it doesn't fit this presupposed narrative of pre-colonial Indians being anything less than warmongering savages.

We're rarely portrayed as "complex" as in "created a society with such little rape that it shocked European colonists." Never complex as in "struck a treaty of friendship and trust with Dutch settlers where we call each other 'brother' instead of 'father' and 'son': an agreement to coexist in peace following many frustrated attempts at communication." You seem to have missed the point that Native tribes formed alliances just as often as they warred. The Haudenosaunee may be the most famous, but there are multiple inter-tribal alliances throughout history. They just don't get a lot of press. Because why would they. Also, the Haudenosaunee? The People of the Longhouse? The Six Nations, formerly known as the Five Nations? Haʔ Akunęhsyę̀·niʔ hęʔ? We're still here. As in today. Right now. Always been here. Never went anywhere. Never going anywhere. That's more than can be said for other historical alliances.

You're not saying anything new by saying people have always been violent towards one another. No shit, Sherlock, part of the origin story of the Haudenosaunee is that the Five Nations used to fight each other. The violence of our past is not news to us, and treating us as though we act as though we're somehow hiding that part of our history in order to present the world a squeaky-clean image is to treat us as though we are as equally ignorant as you. Therefore the only possible thing you could be saying here is "It's okay, they really were savages." And no one in this Chili's ever really seems to consider that, from our perspective, the colonists were just as violent as we were, if not more. To the point where us ~violent savages~ took notice and commented on it. We don't call George Washington "the town destroyer" because he rolled up into town saying pretty please.

You realize the flaw in your logic? We were violent and imperialistic just like every other group in history, and that's grounds enough to dismiss anything we say on the matters of white supremacy and imperialism. But if the colonists were acting such fools that even we were like "damn, dude," then just how violent and imperialistic could we have been, really? And what does it say, then, that the colonists never had their "damn, dude" moment when it came to our genocide?

Yeah no, you don't give a shit about Salish, Seminole, Nahua, or Navajo views of the world because you don't actually tell us what they call the world. You're just using them as rhetorical chess pieces. And while, yes, this is a tad reductive and does not reflect the experiences of all Native tribes across the continent (who's treating who like the monolith again, OP? hmm), it also carries a grain of truth which would be equally disingenuous to ignore. When the colonists first began living among the Haudenosaunee, they were surprised by the zero amounts of rape they saw. I am not exaggerating that number. They looked, but they did not see a single rape in their time there. The most damning conclusion you should take away from that is not that a lack of rape is a random fluke of an otherwise dark human nature; it's that the colonists had been expecting rape as a natural matter of course and were surprised to see its dearth among a society they assumed to be more "primitive" than theirs. Rather than reflect on their beliefs and perhaps do some soul-searching on why they expected to see rape everywhere they fucking went, they shrugged and were like "idk dude." (The men did, at least. The women noted the disparity in how they were treated, and thus the seeds for suffrage were planted.) They did not seem to realize that the reason rape was so prevalent in their culture was because rape is the byproduct of a societal attitude which treats people like possessions. Remove the dehumanization and you eliminate a lot of the impetus for rape.

The Haudenosaunee's lack of rape is due to a variety of factors. One among them being that women are considered people first and foremost, not objects, and another being that Haudenosaunee culture does not allow the kind of fuckery that enables abuse. If a man hit his wife, he would see his things strewn outside the Longhouse door the next day, and he was fully expected to pack up and leave without protest. Our society takes measures to ensure abuse is not tolerated at a material level that engenders Actual Consequences for the abuser. If you prove unable to treat people with a baseline level of respect, you have no business being part of society to begin with. By contrast, Christianity made divorce nearly impossible and thus trapped many women in abusive marriages. This worldview heavily colors Western perceptions of Haudenosaunee culture to this day, and "women have an equal say in how things are run"/"we are matrilineal" tends to be misinterpreted as "they are a matriarchal society (read: patriarchy except Uno-reversed)" and "women wear the pants." In reality, our society is gender equitable. Women only seem to "have power" when they have a say and your baseline perspective is "women ought to have no say."

Re. scalping, another popular refrain of the "um, ackshually" crowd. As I have said earlier in this post, more Indians were scalped by white people than white people were scalped by Indians and Indian-Indian scalpings put together. White people sold Indian scalps to the government, yet no one ever brings that up in discussions of this ilk. Gee, I wonder why.

"The US is not a monolith" - Cry me a river. The government killed 95% of us regardless of who we were or where we were from. The colonists might have deemed some tribes more "civilized" than others, but you have to keep in mind that it was a divide-and-conquer tactic. Their paying lip service to some tribes' supposed "civility" didn't prevent them from attempting to kill and/or assimilate all of them.

"Which part of the US?" - You are being obtuse. The federal government. The elected body chosen to represent this country and its interests. The government that made us move to inhospitable climes and then forbade us from moving anywhere else, ripped children out of their homes, placed them in residential schools and beat the language out of them. The structures they erected which operate on indigenous oppression to this day.

Our genocide never stopped, by the way. It just donned a fancier-looking suit. Instead of kidnapping children and sticking them in boarding schools, social services simply invent bullshit reasons to take kids away from their parents so they can be placed in the foster system and lose their culture. They criminalize poverty and wonder why Indians are suicidal. They do nothing about missing and murdered indigenous people. They send bodybags instead of clean water or masks. This world makes it almost impossible to be indigenous and then blames Indians for not trying hard enough. We mention white supremacy because the US cannot exist as it is today without our genocide. Manifest Destiny was a deliberate project of white supremacy, and our elimination through death or force was regarded as the ultimate "solution" to the "Indian problem." It was all very much intentional.

The government will never acknowledge it as such, however, because acknowledging it requires them to admit on some level that the country's very foundations are illegal.

fabian and lena murphy were not a story that ended in a traditional happily ever after . while they did get married it was short lived , divorcing just under a year of marriage . shortly after their divorce lena found out she was pregnant . fabian stood up to the plate and in the nine months leading up to the birth of their little girl the pair managed to build quite a friendship -- that was all it would ever be though , a friendship . jillyan was born on a sunny day in july , her parents had agreed rather easily on joint custody . an even split in time with their daughter : week days with her mom , weekends and most of summer vacation with her dad , holiday's were split evenly . family vacations were planned together , despite both her parents having new spouses and even child within those new relationships . she had a massive family growing up and she loved every second of it -- fabian and lena had created their own version of happily ever after just for jillyan .

from the outside looking in it all could seem like a dream come true and in many ways , she was aware anyone would've killed to be in her position but when you have a call time of 5:30am , followed by hair and make up , broadcast appearance at 7am , an interview at 7:45am , another interview at 8:30am , followed by ... another interview at 9:15am , a meeting with editors directly after , a lunch interview alongside her step - father , a father - daughter magazine photoshoot , an after school special interview at 6pm , last interview of the day happening at 6:45pm , then having to be on set the next day for 14 hours it takes a toll on anyone , especially a 13 year old girl -- this would go on to be jillyan's life for four years . her life wasn't hers anymore , it belonged to disney , and asking for a break or a day off was never an option , labeled ungrateful or a brat if the words ever so much as left her mouth .

it was around 16 that jillyan realized she didn't want to have to play up this perfect role model act anymore , her life wasn't perfect -- a far stretch from it and she didn't feel as though it was right that girls and kids across the world looked up to her of all people . she'd started smoking at 14 , was given medication on early morning shoots to " wake her up " , and was likely the most underpaid individual on disney channel despite being trotted out as one of the faces of the channel . it was in 2014 when the show would be ending , that jillyan finally saw the light at the end of the tunnel . she could finally go on to be herself , do what she wanted to . then , she learned her step - father had signed a contract just days before the premiere of the last episode to have her do two hannah montana movies and a tour . feeling like an animal trapped in a cage with all eyes on her at that point , it was only inevitable her view on her life and her step - father's intentions finally shifted : hannah montana was his ticket back into the lime light , he simply refused to let it go and disney refused to let go of the face that had carried their brand for nearly half a decade . if she allowed them to continue to control her life , she'd be trapped in this hannah montana persona forever .

throughout shooting for the hannah montana movie , she would be late to set , visibly hungover or even some days still intoxicated from whatever antics she'd gotten up the night before . life at home was splittering and she was often spending more of her time at her dad's house than her mom's merely to get away from her step - father who she'd fall into vicious arguments with whenever they were together . she was entirely drained and was willing to do just about anything to get disney to drop her : walking out of interviews , cussing out executives , actively speaking out against disney and even stating on a late night talk show just days after the movie had been released " i hate her [ hannah montana ] , the whole thing is stupid ... i feel trapped , suffocated even " . the treatment she received after these antics from disney was nothing less than illegal in a work setting . her team , blinded by the disney affect blamed one person and person only for jillyan's attempts at rebellion , her co - star on the hannah montana movie . he was bad news , ruining her reputation , all things they'd attempted to convice her but to her it only felt like them attempting to control another aspect of her life : so she fired them , every last person on her team .

it was in early 2016 , exactly a week before rehearsals for another hannah tour was set that her parents stepped in ( finally ) , and put her into rehab . it would later come out that she'd landed in the hospital just the night before from over consumption of drugs and alcohol . she spent just under a year in a rehab facility in arizona and throughout that time : disney had finally let go of their leash on her and pulled the contract , her mother had divorced her step - father , and jillyan had started writing her own music to finally be able to hear her own voice . when she was finally released from rehab , her new team wanted to get her back out there but in a new way . she listened , not because she thought it was what was best for her but because she'd never known how to make her own decisions ... disney and her step - father had done it all for so much of her life , she felt entirely like a fish out of water despite being in hollywood for the better part of her life . she signed on to be harley quinn in suicide squad not even a month after leaving rehab . diving into that character immediately . once again not affording herself the chance to just simply be jillyan murphy . the character of harley took a toll on an already fragile 19 year old . falling into a string of incredibly public and toxic relationships in such a short time span , partying , and inevitably relapsing . in a sick twist of events , life repeated itself , this time she admitted herself into rehab . admitting to the workers while in a fit of tears that she was , " afraid i'm a danger to myself " . during this stint she managed , with the help of her team , to release her first album , as jillyan murphy no alter ego no big brand behind it .

after eight months of bettering herself , she left rehab for what she has since promised herself , the last time . from that day to now , she's had an on call therapist , who she sees atleast once a week ( on harder weeks the visits can be anywhere to 3 - 4 days a week ) . while still in contract to play harley quinn , she worked with the studio to allow her the time she needed to not work and simply carve her own way through adulthood . even going as far as not going on tour for the album she'd released , biting the monetary penalties that came from the label for the sake of her own mental health . she spent the year after rehab with family and friends , writing songs and simply living her life to the beat of her own drum for the first time in her life .

jillyan returned to work and hollywood in 2019 . this new version of her , the real her , was a tough pill for the public to swallow . much more honest and critical of the business , there was virtually no one set in place to keep her in line and filter what she said and while some found that to be a shame , it was what she needed , the only thing she'd ever craved : freedom to be herself .
