an absolute wave of homesickness for Doctor Who (2005) series 1-2 just about knocks me over at the quietest moments of my little life

#it was such a specific time. I was just a kiddo #still living with my parents with a giant bedroom downstairs all to myself #it used to be a hair studio or something for whoever lived there before us. and I had this massive room with a table to draw and write at #and a tiny twin bed and I used to set up a projector against the opposite wall and hook it up to my laptop and watch DW to fall asleep #enthralled. couldn't believe the show I'd found. couldn't believe how much I loved Rose and loved the Doctor #you could not drag me away from it. I could not stop talking about it or thinking about it. Matt Smith had just become the Doctor and I-#-had so much content left to consume. and everything was simple. I didn't have a job at the time and every day was creativity #I used to write so much I'd forget to eat. and Doctor Who was the background music of my life back then #I miss winter nights swearing I'd only watch one more episode before I went to bed. all by myself. my family hadn't discovered the show yet #in that small single bed with four blankets and Doctor Who on the wall. drooling over timepetals and pausing and rewinding constantly #that time of my life was so safe and so secure and my imagination was so hungry and DW was feeding it and it was my first time seeing it #I miss that. they're not the real doctor they're just a clone of them... one of multiple, for some reason. who keeps cloning this guy.

their favorite operator is Lappland (they like death threats) and before you ask no I have no idea what the blue stuff is. it's some sort of intentionally marysueish power but I haven't figured out what kind of power they have... whatever it is, they don't use it for anything useful.

2022 Wrapped 🥳

This has been such an amazing year. I met so many friends, and made even more. I met Jodie freaking Whittaker! I joined the @wibblypod team! I got into cosplay! I took part in collabs and duets (which definitely counts as socializing.) I made awesome fanart! I made my work-life balance & health a priority!

For 2023, I plan to continue a lot of these things. I have new cosplays in the works, and I’m determined to get even healthier / maintain good health etc. I hope to get to go to see family I have not seen in a decade. Also, if there’s an opportunity to meet anyone else I admire from Doctor Who, that would be amazing. Manifesting Mandip going to a local convention 🕯️ cheers 💙💙

something weird happened after i got covid, i was pretty okay with contracting on shows or books or even classes (halfway at least) but since a year ago i can’t even watch a 40 minute episode anymore without pausing it to google someone completely unrelated to the show

at this point, i've seen the tv movie dozens of times, but i could not tell you the plot. the credits roll and it instantly deletes itself from my mind, i remember many scenes, no idea what connects them

#a form of self preservation?#who knows #heres what I remember happens #7 gets shot and dies on the operating table because the surgeons don't know how to deal with the fact he has 2 hearts #8 wakes up in the morgue ends up on an abandoned floor of the hospital that's full of mirrors where he falls to his knees #and cries out 'who am i'#the master is a snake and posses a paramedic #the eye of harmony is opening (I think?) and is in the TARDIS for some reason and its messing up time #the doctor gets grace to help him fix it by walking through a glass door #they need to do something involving a special clock #is it an atomic clock #i think so #anyway #that works #then the master gets them and chang lee aboard the TARDIS and makes 8 look into the eye of harmony #and then grace rewinds time and everything is fixed?#but she doesn't want to leave with the doctor for more adventures

I know it is pretty late to be making a post about 2022 but here we are 😅.

2022 gave me the opportunity to be able to live alone and to achieve financial independence.

2022 gave me the chance to travel, to cook, to taste, to cry, to laugh, to feel, to be felt, to love and to be loved, to help, to be helped,I ran, I walked, I jogged and I danced, I sang, I fell and I flew, I laid on the grass without being questioned, watched countless cliched movies that made no sense.

But most importantly I was able to be imperfect and still be okay.
