1. Are you named after anyone?

My Dad said yes, my Mom said no. So, maybe? It’s a very unusual name and in my entire life I’ve only met a handful of other people with it.

2. When was the last time you cried?

Yesterday when talking about my deceased father.

3. Do you have kids?

Three. Girl, boy, girl.

4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?

I sure did when I was younger. It was my default. Now almost never.

5. What sports do you play/have played?

Zero. I don’t even really like to watch them much. Baseball is OK.

6. What’s the first thing you notice about other people?

Their height.

7. What’s your eye color?

A warm brown, almost amber.

8. Scary movies or happy endings?

Happy endings, if I have to chose. But I actually prefer gritty realism.

9. Any special talents?

Special? I have talents, but I think they are pretty run of the mill, such as playing the piano.

10. Where were you born?

California, US. But I have lived many, many places.

11. What are your hobbies?

Sewing. I love to make my own clothes. Anything X-Files. Learning Finnish.

12. Do you have any pets?

Two cats, Mochi and Clementine.

13. How tall are you?

5’11”, which is probably why I always notice people’s height.

14. Favorite subject in school?

Music, English, and History

15. Dream job?

Other than Agent Mulder’s personal assistant, you mean? Composer. Which I am, so lucky me, I guess. Although I would like to be a world-famous Pulitzer Prize winning composer, which I am not. So there’s that.

Please write more of these, never stop

I love original fanfic ideas so much, but also: I could read these particular contrived scenarios told again and again and again, and I am not ashamed to admit it. Okay, I'm a little ashamed. But not very much.

Marriage of convenience (like Nuptiae Sub Rosa by @xfmaweezy and @sisterspooky1013 or All That Is Dark and Bright by @malibusunset-xf-blog). Absolute gold in every way and I will read every variation.

Scully pretending to be Mulder's 900 number girl (done recently in Dropped Call by @phillippadgettwrites)

The awkward first descent into phone sex in general, including and especially calls from the fertility clinic. This is done in an especially brilliant way in Vox Mulder: Wired and Fired by @darwin-xf.

All Milagro post-eps that force them to address "Agent Scully is already in love" without being too obvious

Almost all DeadAlive and Three Words post-eps period, because those eps just are fertile ground, no pun intended. I have a whole discussion about that and recs right here.

M&S have sex for non-romantic reasons (like, they're trying out friends with benefits, or they're trying to conceive a baby, or some other ridiculous reason). This obviously is a delightful way to show repressed feelings.

Mulder's psychic fics. I feel like there could be so many more of these. This one (Dissonance by suilven) has a killer set up and I revisit it a lot, but we should have more riffs on this concept.

All right, yes, jealousy fics, I know, very basic of me, but I just really like these. I personally like them when the angst goes really, really far. Like you want to die it hurts so bad far. That one moment in Pilgrims Creeping Towards the Dawn by @softnow where Scully hears Diana say “Fox” in the background on the phone? Inject that into my veins.

Contamination shower fics. Yeah. Enough said.

There are more than this, because actually I get wasted on tropes all the time. What do y'all like? And more importantly, DO YOU HAVE RECS FOR ANY OF THESE?

26. List some season 7 MSR headcanons

Season of secret sex began after Millennium (I think their first time could've been earlier but for sure they started doing it regularly here)

Mulder's dream sequence in Amor Fati was influenced by his telepathy; CSM and Diana were there in the beginning because they were close by, but Scully didn't show up in the dream until she was close enough for his mind to pick up on, and CSM and Diana were out of range by then so that's why they were gone by the end

Not sure if this technically counts as a headcanon but Sein Und Zeit and Closure just did not happen, that was such a stupid and underwhelming ending to Samantha's story (brilliant acting by DD though especially in the last scene where he gets to say goodbye to her, frankly carried the whole thing on his shoulders)

Oh yeah and Mulder and Scully definitely fucked when she stayed over after telling him the results of his mother's autopsy

After En Ami Mulder and Scully backed off their sexual relationship for a while, the tension between them laying the groundwork for Scully's soul-searching in All Things when she ultimately decided Mulder is who she's meant to be with

35. Give us your MSR sexy time headcanons

First time was after Milagro, the tonal shift between Milagro and The Unnatural is insane and clearly indicates a significant change in their relationship

They definitely had sex after The Unnatural

I know this contradicts the first one but I also have a headcanon that their first time was after the IVF failed, and sometimes I like to place that right before Milagro, so they have comfort sex but don't have a chance to talk about it before the Padgett case starts and the rest of the episode happens in that context

Hey! I was just wondering what fanfics do you think are the most famous/best/well known in the x files fandom?

Oh boy, that’s tough. There are famous fics, there are (what I consider to be) the best fics, and there are the most well known. And almost none of them are the same. Fanfic, like all taste, is completely subjective. What I think is the best might not even register on someone else’s list. So I can only attest to MY personal favorites— the fics that spoke to me back when I first read them in the 90’s and those that still speak to me today. And like a person having a type (I like men, and I like them with big chests and dark hair), I have a fanfic type too, and it might be vastly different than yours.

Some of my old favorites (I’m not linking because it’s late and I’m a lazy fuck, but I will directly if you can’t find them and send me an ask), and keeping in mind this is nowhere close to comprehensive:

Rules: List five things you never get tired of writing. it can be tropes, themes, characters, phrases, whatever brings you joy. then tag five people!

interiority: I gotta get inside their heads (where “their” usually means “Scully”)

emotionally-fraught conversations: in which people are sorta forced to just. fkn SAY IT already (whatever “it” may be)

dumpster-diving rpf: I mean, I don’t write rpf, I don’t, I never have and never would, BUT sometimes I go dumpster-diving and find crummy little notebooks and torn/stained pieces of paper filled with what might seem to be rpf if the reader were so inclined to see it that way? but that’s on them.

the what-if: like in my teenage-Mulder story The Fox and the Wolf, which I describe on AO3 as “one reason mulder might be the way that he is” -- sometimes an idea will grab me and I gotta follow it down the path

deliciousness: call it intense fluff, I like writing pieces that go down like a cup of Mexican hot chocolate (sometimes laced with high-ABV liqueur).

~ 3 ships: MSR. ummmmm... any canon relationship, really. Mulder and Scully beat them all (or maybe that’s just because of my time investment.)

~ first ever ship: I technically wrote a Star Wars fic pamphlet ~kindergarten featuring Han Solo and Leia (but really it was about Yoda.) So that counts.

~ last song: Not a big music fiend (I prefer music as backgrounds for memes or in skits.) Frank Sinata and Dean Martin’s skit singing A Marshmallow World counts, I think.

~ last movie: Wow. Hm. I don’t watch movies a lot (they drain me.) I usually watch movie reacts on Youtube instead; but I think it was Ever After starring Drew Barrymore. 110% recommend.

~ currently reading: So many scattered projects. A tie between The Evil That Men Do: FBI Profiler Roy Hazelwood's Journey Into the Minds of Sexual Predators and Expecting better : why the conventional pregnancy wisdom is wrong--and what you really need to know.

~ currently watching: Do lectures count? Because I’m watching The World’s Religions by Huston Smith while I type.

~ currently consuming: I want to consume frozen bananas blended into icecream by my food processor. Yum.

~ currently craving: I’m going to jump off Baroness Blixen’s answer because I didn’t realize how much I wanted to work out (even if it’s a slow, faux shimmy dance) until I read her answer. That’ll get me out of this chair, so thanks for that!
