Bring on The Night Court

British-born actress India de Beaufort is courting fame in the colonies.

De Beaufort is turning heads as Olivia, the brilliant-but-neurotic assistant district attorney on NBC’s popular new reimagining of the beloved 1980s situation comedy Night Court. The original series, about the crazy goings on the late-night hearings in an eccentric New York City courtroom starred the late Harry Anderson, Markie Post and John Larroquette as an unconventional judge, assistant district attorney and public defender.

The new series has Larroquette returning in his star-making role of cynical lawyer Dan Fielding, although he has switched roles from prosecution to defense. Former Big Bang Theory co-star Melissa Rauch plays the new judge for the Night Court – the sweet and slightly naïve daughter of Harry Anderson’s character from the original. De Beaufort’s Olivia is a whip-smart but horribly insecure barrister working for the State to get all the oddball plaintiffs off the street, or at least make sure that justice is served.

De Beaufort also currently has an extended arc in the second (and final) season of Netflix’s popular series Firefly Lane. In that, she plays Charlotte, the sorta other woman character. In the 1980s, she was a nervous aspiring TV journalist called Lottie who had a crush on her boss Johnny (Ben Lawson), not knowing he was involved with her co-worker Kate (Sarah Chalke). In later years, she has become a confident, assured foreign war correspondent called Charlie who returns to Johnny’s life while he and Kate are broken up.

Beyond these roles, the British-born actress has been getting lots of gigs since moving across the pond, like playing the girlfriend of her real-life husband, actor Todd Grinnell, on the reboot of One Day at a Time. De Beaufort also had recurring roles on series like Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, NCIS: Los Angeles, Jane By Design, One Tree Hill and Veep. She has even done voiceovers on such animated shows as All Hail King Julian, Fast and Furious Spy Racers and It’s Pony.

We recently had the chance to chat via Zoom with de Beaufort about Night Court, Firefly Lane, working with her husband, going to Fashion Week and even her musical aspirations.

I spoke with your husband a couple of years ago when he did [the movie] Paradise Cove.

Oh, that's awesome.

You grew up in the UK and you started out acting there. When did you decide that you were ready to come to the to the United States and do some acting?

It was kind of accidental. I shot a movie in London (the 2007 film Run Fat Boy Run with Simon Pegg) with David Schwimmer (the former Friends actor), who directed. At the time, I wanted to be a singer. He said, “I think you should be an actor.” I thought about it and thought that could be kind of fun. (laughs) I had a girlfriend who was living out in LA at the time. She said, “Why don't you come out and hang out? Come and see what LA is all about.” So I came out for a few months. Loved it. Loved the sunshine. Loved the pace of life, just shaking it up a little bit. Before I knew it, I was shooting a series for Comedy Central in the UK (Kröd Mändoon and the Flaming Sword of Fire). It was a co-production, half and half. That was my first step into something that wasn't only showing in the UK. I got a manager. Next thing I know, here I am.

Coming from the UK, and also, you're a little bit young, were you familiar at all with the original series of Night Court before you got involved with the new version?

No, not at all. When I had the first audition, I did some homework and checked out the show. I continued to binge it while we were shooting so that I could get a feel for the original and make sure that I was doing it justice.

Olivia is a very smart woman, at least professionally, but she's also a little bit insecure and neurotic about her personal life and even her career to a certain extent. How was that dichotomy fun for you to play as an actress?

She's so fun. I get to say all the things I would never normally say in real life. I love that she's a bit of a broken mess. She's a bit of a broken bird, looking for a nest. Then there is this courthouse, there is Night Court. That is the perfect band of misfits for her to find a place to call home, whether or not she would like to admit it.

You've got a really terrific cast. Obviously, John Larroquette from the original series is there, and Melissa Rauch, and Lacretta. What's it like on set?

It's an education. I feel like I spend all my time observing, watching, planning to steal. It's so incredible being with so many wonderful comedians, who also just bring a whole lot of heart to the show. I’m just absorbing and learning.

How do you feel that the new version is different from the old version? And how do you think that it's similar?

Well, we have a new cast, obviously, except John. That brings in a whole new, fresh take. But in a lot of ways, I love how much we've paid homage to the original. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I don't think our goal was to try to reboot, I think our goal was to create a continuation of the original show. The writers have done a beautiful job of capturing that. It's a cozy throwback to the 80s that's delightful for all the family. That's welcoming to an old audience and a new audience because of this fresh cast.

It's also a multi-cam show, which is not all that common anymore. Is that fun to do?

Yeah, it's my favorite. It's my favorite kind of television to make. I wish it was more common. My husband was on a multi-cam for four or five years. A Norman Lear multi-cam. Another technical reboot of One Day at a Time. There's just nothing like a live audience. You can't beat it. We get to be on TV and have an audience. That's the only medium where that exists. It’s pretty magical.

Well, you just mentioned your husband being on One Day at a Time. You were in the series as well with him. What was it like to work with him on the show?

A dream. I believe on my first day, I’d had a baby three weeks prior. I was so really just grateful to Gloria Calderón Kellett and Mike Royce, the show runners, for giving me the opportunity to get back into work and find my sense of self while I was being a mom. A multi-cam schedule is the best way to do that. Three days a week you're home for dinner. Maybe you have a couple of longer days, but for the most part, you get to be around and be with your family, while still continuing in the workplace, which has been traditionally challenging for women. It was incredible to feel supported in that way.

With both of you being working actors, how do you handle being parents and family? Do you schedule around each other's work?

It hasn't been easy. I almost missed our wedding. (laughs) I was at my brother's wedding for 36 hours. I flew into my grandmother's 90th birthday for 24 hours. Also, there's a lot of begging studios and networks and show runners to let you off for huge family events. But thanks to Night Court, I get to pick my son up and drop him off from preschool three days a week, and I'm home for dinner five days a week. I get to see a whole lot more of him. He gets to come to work with me too. So, not only is it a show made for families, but it is a show that's the right one to be shooting if you have a family.

Not only do you have Night Court going on right now, but you're also in the second season of Firefly Lane. The first half has dropped, and the second half is coming in April. That show had been going for a season before you got there. How quickly did you feel like you fit into the cast?

They were so welcoming. They made me feel a part of the group on day one. Sarah Chalke and Katherine Heigl are pros, and two of the nicest human beings I've ever worked with. I only ever continually saw them support each other and their crew and every guest cast member that came through. It was one of my favorite jobs to date.

I had actually read the book of Firefly Lane, which is very different than the series. But were you familiar with the book or even the first season before you got involved with it?

I wasn't familiar with the book. But I always check out the first season, or at least a good stretch of episodes of a show before I audition for it, let alone start working on it. So that I can be respectful, but make sure I'm going to slot in right. I loved it. I thought it was heartwarming and funny and engaging and handled a lot of crazy subjects with grace. It's a beautifully made show. It's just a little pocket of sunshine.

You're playing Charlotte over a period of many different years and in many different positions. She starts out sort of like a slightly nerdy worker, and then she finds herself as a professional. Is it interesting for you to be able to cover the entire scope of her growth?

I loved it. That's the only time I've ever essentially gotten to pay to play two characters on one show. They were the same person – both characters were Charlotte – but Lottie, as you said, was early days finding her feet, a bit of a wallflower. Charlie, once she had aged into herself, was an assertive, accomplished, sexy, young woman. It was incredible to get to flip flop between the two. Also find those two parts of myself. I had a hoot, but I will say Lottie was my favorite by far.

You were recently in New York for Fashion Week. What was that like? And what did you do while you were there?

I had a blast with my mom [British actress Karen de Beaufort]. (laughs) Mom was my partner in crime. We hit the streets and New York loved her. I swear photographers were stopping her left, right and center and she was giving it, and making everybody laugh. I saw a bunch of shows which were really phenomenal and inspiring. We had a bunch of great meals and walked the city. Then after that, we flew to London and hit London Fashion Week. And now back in LA, so busy, busy. But all of it just ignited the flame of my love for fashion, so it was really fun to be there.

You had mentioned earlier that you were originally interested in being a singer before an actress. Do you still do music?

Yeah, I released a single called “Crack” a few years ago. That was sort of political. I never intended it for it to become what it was. I was shooting Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist at the time. I had a lot of time in a hotel room by myself. I just started writing something that I couldn't put down. Then the next thing I knew I had a song. Then the next thing I knew I made a music video. (chuckles) Now it exists, so you can check that out. It's on Spotify streams everywhere. You can see the video on YouTube, or on Instagram. I just directed and I'm editing my next music video which is called “Karma,” that I'm hoping to release in the next couple of months.

Have you heard whether Night Court is going to be coming back?

We have been renewed for a second season. We’re going to hopefully start production sometime soon.

Not sure if you've heard about it already, but there's a petition on change.org (https://www.change.org/p/re-open-appeal-uk-of-johnny-depp-defamation-case-following-unanimous-us-jury-verdict) that was started by BlackBeltBarrister (a UK barrister and Youtuber - https://www.youtube.com/c/BlackBeltBarrister) to re-open the appeal for the UK trial.

Some of his newer videos explain the UK trial in greater depth and what exactly he thinks was wrong with it.

Oy Gevalt, as nice as it would be to overturn the Judge's decision and put it to bed once and for all, I think it's best to leave it alone since Johnny is moving on and getting back to living his life in peace now.

Also I have no desire to be forced to see Dan Wootton again and have people bang on about The Scum even more than they already are. But I guess we'll have to wait and see if it comes to anything 🙃

The home secretary, Suella Braverman, who last week caused outrage by referring to asylum seekers entering the UK as an “invasion”, had been warned by government lawyers that inflammatory immigration rhetoric risked inspiring a far-right terror attack.

Braverman’s comments came just one day after a man with links to the far right threw firebombs at a Dover immigration centre. On Saturday, counter-terrorism police announced they had found evidence that the attack was motivated by an “extreme rightwing” terrorist ideology.

In October 2020, Braverman, then attorney general for England and Wales, was briefed in detail about how hate speech by senior politicians could lead to a terrorist risk. It followed an alleged terror plot against a law firm shortly after Priti Patel, then home secretary, had claimed that “activist lawyers” were frustrating the removal of failed asylum seekers.

After the alleged incident, senior legal figures contacted the attorney general’s office to make clear their concern that inflammatory political rhetoric inspired violence.

In late October 2020, Braverman met in person with government lawyers, the lord chancellor and lord chief justice to discuss the “worrying increase in use of ‘activist lawyers’ rhetoric” by the government, an internal Bar Council newsletter reveals.

At the time, Braverman was so concerned that she contacted Patel to ask her if she would consider toning down her language.

However, last week Braverman doubled down on her choice of language, also referring to “Albanian criminals” in parliament, prompting Edi Rama, the prime minister of the eastern European country, to accuse Braverman of using “purely xenophobic” words.

One prominent barrister with knowledge of the discussions during October 2020 said that Braverman was fully aware that her intervention last week in the immigration debate was incendiary.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, they said: “At the very least, it was reckless. At worst, she knows it’s likely to instigate attacks. It’s either reckless or it’s deliberate and she’s got no concern for the consequences.

“The home secretary’s job is to ensure public safety, not to generate serious risk of harm to individuals.”Another senior legal source, who also asked not to be named, said: “Braverman was told directly of the risks such language was having on members of the profession.”

It can now be revealed that the day after Braverman used the word “invasion”, prominent far-right figure Mark Collett – who has praised Adolf Hitler, been arrested for inciting racial hatred and has called refugees “cockroaches” – forwarded a message on Telegram from a fellow white supremacist that said: “What’s happening to our borders is an invasion and no amount of pearl clutching will change that.”

Collet, founder of far-right group Patriotic Alternative, stated in a Telegram post the day after firebombs were thrown at the Kent immigration centre: “This attack is the unfortunate result of living in a multicultural tyranny imposed by a globalist system that cares nothing for white people.”

The term “globalist” has fallen under recent scrutiny, featuring in a spike in social media attacks on Rishi Sunak that draw on antisemitic conspiracy theories, linking the former banker to the false notion of a globalist conspiracy. Several prominent figures on the rightwing news channel GB News, including Nigel Farage and Dan Wootton, also used the term after Grant Shapps, who is Jewish, briefly replaced Braverman as home secretary last month.

Far-right elements also attacked the immigration minister, Robert Jenrick, after he rejected the language used by Braverman, with one accusing him on the rightwing Traditional Britain Group Telegram channel of “treason” and referring to his Jewish faith alongside an image of Pepe the Frog, the cartoon character adopted by the alt-right.

On Friday, former skills minister Andrea Jenkyns provoked fresh dismay by referring to immigration lawyers as “anti-British”. In a letter to Braverman, Jenkyns wrote: “You were right to describe this as an invasion and many of my constituents thank you for your candour.”

A Home Office spokesperson said: “The home secretary’s first priority will always be to protect the security of the UK and the safety of its citizens.”

It’s been like Terf Xmas this past week. Nonsensical terfisms buzzed around the internet like flies around a cowpat and even former children’s writer, JoKe Superterf got in on the action. Those terfs just gotta keep on terfing.

Shits and Giggles

Here in Australia, the Tickle vs Giggle court case kept headline writers busy trying to make cliches look fresh and original. For the life of me, I couldn’t work Shits and Giggles into a header. But I thought it fitted the way supporters of Giggle for Girls spend their days either giggling or throwing shit at Roxanne Tickle.

Bridie Nolan is the barrister representing Giggle for Girls and CEO Sall Grover in the Federal Court. She claimed this week that the respondents wished no indignity upon Roxanne Tickle or others who express gender identity.

Yet, a supporter and now friend of Sall Grover sells ‘Sweaty Balls’ candles featuring an unflattering caricature of Roxanne Tickle. Funds from the sales go towards Giggle for Girls and Grover’s legal costs.

On X, other supporters call Roxy ugly. They also deadname her. They call her a pervert, a misogynist and a stalker and cackle deliriously at tired old cross-dresser jokes we’ve all heard a million times.

No indignity? No indignity my fat arse!

Competitive Hot Dog Eating

Meanwhile, other terfs remain focused on excluding trans women from competitive sport.

Which sport this time?

As the subheading probably telegraphed, competitive hot dog eating. Terfing can get a little crazy. We all know that. But now a group called She Won has listed competitive hot dog eating among the pursuits where the achievements of female athletes “were displaced by males in women’s sporting events and other types of competitions expressly for women.”

The website lists three women beaten by Michelle Lesco during the 2021 Nathan’s Famous International Hot-Dog-Eating Contest. But there’s something problematic about that listing — other than the inherent discrimination.

Michelle Lesco is a cisgender woman. Michelle says the idea she is transgender originated with Sam Newman mocking her feminity a few years ago. But terfs are desperate to compile great long lists of trans women displacing cis women in sporting competitions. So who cares if a few cisgender women go under the bus along with the hated trans women?

All for the cause.

Then there’s that former children’s writer. She must have been feeling ignored. Money can’t buy me love, sang the Beatles. Anyway, JoKe popped up to comment on the UK’s Cass Review into medical care provided to children with gender dysphoria. We’re not even going to bother with that. Scientifically unsound.

We’d rather listen to experts in the field.

People like the Head of the Trans Health Research group at The University of Melbourne, Associate Professor Ada Cheung.

Professor Cheung said, “The Cass report goes against the consensus of professional medical associations around the world.”

Or Transcend Australia CEO Jeremy Wiggins.

“Families deserve to be provided with all the available evidence about medical treatment, which the Cass Review has failed to do by excluding a significant amount of global research.”

But back to JoKe.

One of her followers suggested on X that a couple of high profile Harry Potter stars might apologise to her for their past support of trans women.

“Just waiting for Dan and Emma to give you a very public apology… safe in the knowledge that you will forgive them.”

But JoKe was in no mood for forgiveness. Forgiveness doesn’t make headlines.

“Not safe, I’m afraid. Celebs who cosied up to a movement intent on eroding women’s hard-won rights and who used their platforms to cheer on the transitioning of minors can save their apologies for traumatised detransitioners and vulnerable women reliant on single-sex spaces.”

Save their apologies? They haven’t apologised. JoKe, like other terfs, appears to live in an echo chamber. One day maybe, terfs will return to the real world where the rest of us understand we all have to live together. We won’t hold our breath (Is that a sport? What’s the governing body’s policy on inclusion?)

Flos --- When a jury in County Court Sessions before Judge Arthur Cochrane, Brampton, here Thursday last, found Clifford Bylow, 21. Midland, not guilty of robbery with violence, and breaking, entering and theft, Crown Attorney Frank Hammond withdrew similar charges against Arthur Dube, 21, Midland: an alleged confederate. The jury was out three hours.

The accused was charged with robbing Dan King, 66, farmer residing on concession 6. Flos, near Crossland, of $226 cash on June 15, 1941, and breaking and entering his home and stealing sixty ounces of whiskey.

Arthur Dube, Midland, charged with the same offences, was scheduled to be tried Friday before Judge Arthur Cochrane, Brampton, and a jury. The jury was empanelled while the Bylow jury was considering its verdict, but the charge was withdrawn the next morning.

J. Gladstone Currie, Barrie barrister, defended Bylow and also acted for Dube. Bylow made a straight denial that he was any where near the scene.

The jury disagreed in the Dube trial at the sessions last December. necessitating a new trial. A poll of the jury at that time showed a poll of 7-5 guilty.

The organisers of the annual “Bayelsa Media Network Awards” (BMNA), say the award, which is the 4th in series since it began about five years ago, is a yearly award put together by notable media stakeholders in the state to honour deserving private and public office-holders and others who have distinguished themselves in their chosen careers and professions.

A statement by the Project Manager, Mr. Blessing Ozegbe, says the rationale behind the awards was the need to recognise and further boost the morale of Nigerians who have excelled in their various fields of endeavour and have impacted humanity.

Ozegbe noted that preparations for the 2022 edition of the awards have reached advanced stage, assuring that only credible individuals will be recognised and honoured.

He described this year’s awardees as “hardworking, competent, resilient, visionary and persons that have displayed exemplary leadership qualities and character”.

The Project Manager noted that the recipients were selected after an independent and transparent monitoring and investigative process which was devoid of any form of lobbying.

An elated Ozegbe, who was upbeat about a successful occasion this year, also gave the names of some of the recipients aside the Rivers State Governor, Wife of the Bayelsa State Governor, HRM Josiah; As Bayelsa State deputy Gov., Senator Lawrence Ehwrudjakpo, Sen. Degi Eremienyo, Senator Representing Bayelsa East Senatorial District and The chief Whip, Bayelsa State House of Assembly;Hon. Ebiowou Koku-Obiyai;.

Others, according to the organisers, are; the Chairman, Bayelsa State Local Government Service Commission, Chief Lambert Ototo; Executive Chairman, Ahoada-West Council area of Rivers State, Hon. Hope Ikiriko; and his Vice Chairman.

Also to receive awards are the Bayelsa State Commissioner for Education, Dr Gentle Emelah, and his counterparts from the Ministries of Health and Culture and Tourism, Dr. Pabara Igwele and Dr. Iti Orugbani, respectively.

The organisers also mentioned other awardees as H.R.H Sunny Jacob, Paramount Ruler, Edagberi/Betterland Community, Rivers State, Pastor Mercy Dan, H.R.H Egbekun Blessing, and ASP. Oguche Emmanuel.

The organizers noted that the ceremony would take place at the Ernest Sesei Ikoli Press Centre, NUJ Secretariat, Azikoro Road, Ekeki, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, on December 26th 2022.

This January marks 7 years since Amber Heard elaborated one of her lies. On January 27, 2015 she claimed had been a victim of domestic violence while staying in a hotel in Tokyo, but her version of the story can be proved as a LIE. So for those who didn’t know or still believe in her lies,

Let’s start from a day before the hoax:

As we ALL know, every time Johnny goes to Japan, thousands of people of all ages and genders goes to the airport to welcome him, give him gifts as well wait a chance for a handshake, an autograph or just an eye contact. On that day, Johnny was accompanied by Amber Heard who since the beginning was already showing signs of boredom and annoyance every time Johnny tried to greet his fans.

3) Johnny smiles as he spots a kid in a costume and tries to get Amber involved with his fans, but she almost didn’t care. Ps. Pay close attention that even his bodyguard Malcolm is smiling.

4) Although Johnny is the one who holds Amber’s hands in a certain way to get her closer and involved with his fans, when he spots more children waiting for him and wants to talk to them, is she who, for a couple of seconds, seems to hold him to not do it. Ps. And again Malcolm is clearly happier than her, and we know how hard is to see him smiling.

During this event you can also see that Ms. Heard only “truly” smiles when people calls her and is being photographed, and never get involved with his fans. Ok, they are not her fans, but she could greet them as well, hold their hands, be friendly. In the other hand, Johnny only truly smiles when greeting and involved with his fans. If you look for photos of this day, you’ll see that he was a little down. But why she’s acting like that: Answer:

Amber Heard didn’t want to sign a prenup agreement to the division of their financial affairs if there was a divorce.

In an e-mail between Amber’s psychologist Dr. Connell Cowan (who she was receiving therapy at that time) and Dr. David Kipper, their private doctor, reveals that before going to Japan, Johnny WANTED a prenup agreement and it lead to discussions:

After getting angry with the prenuptial agreement, Johnny’s lawyers and his sister tried to encourage her to enter into a postnuptial agreement, but she was always angry and always resisted to sign. Some time later, Johnny tried again, by himself, and the result was another abuse: Amber Heard got so furious that THREW a bottle of Vodka on Johnny and cut his finger.

> JANUARY 27, 2015 ~ MORNING: The alleged attack and the weird cancelling of the Press Conference of “Mortdecai”, in Tokyo, Japan.

On the next day after arriving in Tokyo, Johnny planned to attend a press conference to talk about his then new movie “Mortdecai”, at the Peninsula Tokyo Hotel, in Tokyo, Japan. The event was originally scheduled to start at noon, but was canceled after one hour of delay, and the more than 200 reporters, journalists and photographers of all areas around Japan got caught by surprise when was announced that Johnny couldn’t attend because he was feeling “unwell”, and would rather rest for the premiere later that night. Johnny personally sent a message asking sorry for the inconvenience and the event was rescheduled for the next day. ~ But what happened?

Accordingly to Amber Heard, on that morning Johnny “slapped her”, “wrestled” her to the floor, “kneeled on her back”, “hit on the back of the head” and she was left “weeping” on the ground”, “Sitting on the floor crying”.

Johnny denies everything, but it seems he committed a mistake. Although his children were not seen in this airport, Lily-Rose was seen in Los Angeles, so he probably mistook this with the 2013 travel when he indeed traveled with Amber and his kids.

Stephen Deuters, Johnny’s assistant at that time, is one of the eyewitnesses of this event. Although he not present in the room, he remembers that Johnny was late for a press conference due an argument that morning and saw ANY cuts, bruises or injuries in Ms. Heard.

After the odd cancelling of the press conference earlier that morning, Johnny was “well enough” to attend the premiere but SURPRISINGLY after allegedly had suffered a “violent attack” Amber Heard appeared WITHOUT ANY SINGLE INJURY, BRUISE, CUT OR SIGN OF ABUSE:

In the other hand, is Johnny who seems scared, intimidated and had a band-aid on his finger:

During the trial, on July 2020, Ms. Heard also wrongly answered questions. When asked when the assault happened she said it was two days after the premiere, but this a LIE. Two days prior that day they weren’t even in Japan. They arrived on day before, so in reality the “attack” happened on the same day. Also, when asked about the injures on her back, she said it was “not visible” and she was checking obsessively as soon as she got off the carpet:

But the videos and photos of that day shows completely the opposite of what Amber told under oath on court:

1) While Johnny and Amber are on the escalator, he waves to the fans and unintentionally pulls Amber’s hand away from his arm. Once she is always desperate for his attention, she gets upset. Right after that her mood changes:

2) That simple act had a consequence to Johnny. Her mood suddenly changes and you can see some kind of angriness toward Johnny:

3) On red carpet, Amber shows boredom while Johnny gives an interview and seems annoyed for not having his attention. By the way, you will notice that she ALWAYS has the habit of tilting her head back with her nose up as she looks down to someone. This body language is known for showing arrogance and superiority.

4) Amber show boredom, arrogance and superiority again and slightly moves her head signing her impatience to leave the place:

5) Johnny is already embarrassed for Amber’s behaviour who doesn’t even hide her angriness and boredom as you can see right in the beginning below. And she fake smiles as he checks if she’s ok.

6) The hidden message of Johnny and Amber’s threat:

During another interview, Johnny was remembered when he went to a guitar shop in Shin-Okubo on his last visit and he says that he’d like to be there at that moment implying that he’d like to be there at that moment, not because he was disliking the premiere, but probably for having to stay with Amber on his side. When asked if there was any other place he’d like to go, Johnny answers the “whole country” and that he would like to take Amber through the country, although we will never know if this was a real wish or just said because she was on his side and avoid more fights later. But when Amber was asked where she’d like to go, she simple says “anywhere he goes” and Johnny replies with “to hell in a handbag”. This quote is known for describing a situation that is deteriorating quickly and headed for disaster, and you can see that Johnny is not enjoying that situation AT ALL, and probably knew that what happened to him would happen again because she was going to follow him everywhere.

7) Again. In any moment she got involved with his fans. She could at least take some gifts that some fans bring to him and he and his bodyguards didn’t have the chance to see and catch, but instead she rather keep her eyes on him.

8) As Johnny and Stephen said: She was always in good spirits - for someone who said had been beaten... Few hours earlier.

9) AND WITH NO INJURES, CUTS, SWELLING, or BRUISES...

For someone who was “slapped”, “wrestled” to the floor, “kneeled on her back”, “hit on the back of the head” and left “weeping” on the ground”, “sitting on the floor crying” Amber Heard was 100% perfect with no sign of abuse AT ALL.

By the way, during the red carpet she rarely check her back, and only did it because she was worried about the opening on the back of her dress to not show too much; and was NOT worried to check if the were “injuries” because they didn’t exist at all.

HOAX: “He slapped me, wrestled me to the floor, I was sitting on the floor crying” TRUTH: Perfect skin, no cuts, bruises, swellings and any other signs of had been crying, or being scared...

She was so in good spirits that after the premiere that even went to a restaurant with Johnny. Also, throughout the whole premiere, you can see that they are always with hands together and she doesn’t give space for him.

Johnny finally attends the press conference of “Mortdecai”. He is not wearing a band-aid on his finger but shows a small scar, his finger seems a little sore and he still seems distant, although through the conference he tried to make some fun. As soon as he arrives on stage, he gives and weird excuse for the cancelling of press conference the day earlier.

“I would love to apologize to you all for not being here yesterday. I was at the tail end of a kind of a cold or flu or something… But that’s not the reason I wasn’t here. I was attacked yesterday morning by a very rarely seen or experienced animal called ‘the chupacabra’. I fought with it for hours. They’re very persistent, very mean. And I’m pretty sure it came in my suitcase. I threw him off the 23rd floor, so we’ll never see him again. Thank you, thank you for understanding. I appreciate it”

Although everyone thought funny, Johnny was not having fun. Maybe because no matter what he said, people would never believe in his words. He was attacked and the “chupacabra” was Amber Heard.

JULY 2020: Johnny Depp Vs. The Sun Trial, London:

This event was later brought to court in London by Ms. Heard, her team of lawyers and Sasha Wass (News Group Newspapers’s lawyer) based on Ms. Heard’s lie and a text exchange between Stephen Deuters and the editor Adam Gough in a temptative to portray Johnny as an abuser once, because accordingly to them, they were talking about Johnny’s “alter ego” given to Ms. Heard a.k.a “monster” and his attacks.

But in reality Stephen and Adam were referring to Godzilla and later in a new text between more was revealed saying:

"I wish I had been eaten by a monster, probably much more enjoyable in comparison to how this month has panned out."

Why? Probably due to work. At that time, Johnny spent December 2014 travelling non-stop to promote “Mortdecai” and his schedule kept in January also with his Johnny’s musician career. And Stephen as his personal assistant had to deal with all of it as well.

> December 15, 2015: A similar “assault” proved LIE.

Interestingly, a similar situation happened on the end of that year. On December 15, 2015 accordingly to Amber, Johnny threw objects on her, slapped, grabbed her by her hair, dragged her through the house, pulled chunks of hair, head-butted her, bashed her nose, split her lip and blackened her eyes, but on next day she appeared WITHOUT ANY SINGLE INJURY on James Corden’s Late Late Show and again there were eyewitnesses who saw and stated she looked perfect. And INDEED. For someone who was “violently attacked” the day before, how could look without any sign of abuse on the other day ON TV for the WHOLE WORLD. In the other hand, again, Johnny was the one with several marks on his face and again, there are evidences taken by his bodyguard showing the injuries caused by Amber:

BUT, even after ALL THESE EVIDENCES, Johnny lost his court case against The Sun and it was “concluded” on November 2, 2020 by Judge Justice Nicol that Johnny “did assault Ms Heard as she and the defendants have alleged in this incident” IN BOTH and more 12!!!

NOW TELL ME... WHAT THE F*CK!?

For you have an idea, read again about what Amber claimed had suffered on December 15 and compare to her on the James Corden’s Late Late Show the next day (CLICK HERE) Judge Justice Nicol “concluded” that the makeup artist was “able to conceal” Ms Heard’s injuries with make-up and lipstick and that Samantha McMillen (who saw her with no injuries) saw her after the make-up had been applied and that’s why the injuries were not apparent and that’s why the injuries could not be seen on the still photographs from the show... THIS IS BULLSH*T! Meanwhile, Johnny’s evidence taken by his bodyguard Sean Bett “was not very clear" and the Judge Justice Nicol “concluded” concluded that he cannot see any swelling or abrasion in the photographs and that the scratch on his nose, in his judgment it was not caused by Ms. Heard... OH, COME ON!!!

THE REAL ABUSER, AMBER HEARD was and is still being protected.

AMBER HEARD, THE REAL ABUSER, who almost killed, who hurt physically and emotionally and mentally Johnny Depp is still being protected, even with DOZENS OF EVIDENCES proving that she IS THE ABUSER.

Her HOAX, her plan to destroy Johnny’s career is still working, and even with all the evidences, Johnny is still the one being blamed.

SO F*CKING DISGUSTING.

Barrister's, 1997: Jeff played his last show there May 26, 1997

Tell me the story behind that Jeff Buckley photograph.

I met Jeff in January of '97. I was taking pictures of a band that Dave Shouse had started called Those Bastard Souls. Jeff Buckley's girlfriend Joan Wasser played violin. We were in this hotel in St. Louis. Jeff came to visit Joan and that's where I first met him. He was real nice and we had a great time. A month or two later Dave told me that he was going to move here, and record at Easley. The vibe was that he was trying to avoid the media, so I was really cautious about approaching him because I didn't know him real well. We sort of ran in the same circle of people here so I knew we'd get to be better friends. I figured my best shot was just to leave him alone and get to be friends instead of grabbing paparazzi-type stuff. So anyway I saw him play at Barristers a few times. It was impossible to really take a good picture of him because it was so dark and you couldn't use a flash without pissing everybody off. But this one particular night one of the Grifters said, "Take a picture." I was doing these long exposures at the time, but I didn't have my equipment, so I just set my camera down on a little cocktail table and set him down in the loft upstairs at Barristers and borrowed a flashlight and a piece of blue filter gel lying around. I rigged it all together and we tried to take these pictures with these long exposures, but it was really difficult because there were people all around us. Everybody was moving. People were smoking grass and the pictures turned out less than what I'd have liked. But he really liked them. He said let's definitely do some more, but let's wait till the band gets here. They were flying in. I was like "OK," and I decided to wait. Then the day that they flew in, he drowned. So I only got these few precious pictures of that whole thing. He drowned because the Mississippi River moves so fast?

I don't know if anybody told him not to swim down there because every year somebody drowns in that river. It looks all still and quiet but underneath there's all kinds of other stuff going on. Apparently he was wearing his boots.-words and photos by Dan Ball via vice.com, Aug 20 2015

A Goode Year? Review of 2020

Can’t believe it’s that time again. What a weird year. Despite Covid and Lockdowns we have actually seen quite a lot of Matthew Goode this year - so this is a long post to save for when you are bored of eating over the holidays! I’m not adding links to vids, etc. like previous years because tumblr doesn’t like them anymore [Grr] but all of them are still available and I’ll signpost them.

In January Matthew was finishing filming A Discovery of Witches Season 2 in Turin and we had some glimpses of his leather clad bod in some Teresa Palmer instastories -

In February we saw Matthew and Sophie having fun at the Pre - BAFTA party

The rest of that month was all about Leap Year’s 10 year anniversary and we drooled over Declan all over again ....

In March Matthew was finishing filming Silent Night with Keira Knightley when the world changed. We were introduced to ‘social distancing’. We had to keep a full Matthew Goode length away from other people - a handy reference is below to remind you -

[Pic - Ellen Von Unwerth] On the upside the news broke that Matthew would be playing Keira’s husband in Silent Night (as we suspected) and that they had finished filming before lockdown in the UK.

In April Matthew had his 42nd birthday. Check out all of the fabulous birthday tributes posted on here around 3rd April. As a special birthday present Sky released ‘Four Kids and It’ on their cinema channel on the same day with Matthew playing the role of slightly harassed parent David. It was a goode family movie and just what we needed in lockdown.

In May we got our first glimpse of Matthew in lockdown when he made a poignant contribution to Bletchley Park’s VE Day celebrations -

It was perfectly judged - just Matthew filming himself on his phone, in his garden, complete with birdsong.

“This is your finest hour.”

According to James Purefoy and Joe Fattorini Matthew shaved off his hair with the dog clippers in lockdown so he looked a bit different the next time we saw him in June!

Matthew appeared via zoom on ‘Dan Nicholls Really Likes Wine’ show - ‘Drinking the Goode Stuff’. It was great seeing these old friends bantering away and drinking wine. Of course Goode fans immediately campaigned to get Matthew on The Wine Show @ Home and we got our wish a few weeks later when Joe and Matthew had a virtual wine tasting on zoom -

The whole session was hilarious. Matthew was completely adorable and funny as usual. Amongst other things Matthew told us that Sophie had gone off pork (not a euphemism) and we got another peek at his beautiful home with Sophie’s interior design skills on show. This is also still available on The Wine Show @Home You Tube.

June also gave us the new trailer for ‘The King’s Man’. We heard Matthew’s unmistakable voice as the Scots bad guy and there were some tantalising peeks of his character’s mysterious alter ego ‘Shepherd’ -

In July we finally got to see one of Matthew’s Q & A sessions for actors in training at Bow Street Academy in Dublin that he had recorded in May -

Matthew gave frank, funny and very practical advice on auditions, preparation for roles and demonstrated how to be scary with a knife!

August was a bit quiet - we got news that A Discovery of Witches Season 2 would now be aired in January 2021 but a new promo image helped soften the blow of that delay. -

Kingsman was delayed yet again.... but at least we got some new promo images of Matthew’s character - Captain Maximillian Morton. (Morton? Hmm - someone on here (not me!) spotted the relation to Roxy!]

In September Matthew’s new movie ‘The Duke’ received glowing reviews at the Venice Film Festival and we got confirmation of my speculation that he would play barrister Jeremy Hutchinson.

Tantalisingly goode info about Matthew’s up coming movie Silent Night came from Baz Bamigboye from the Daily Mail as he called it ‘the most astonishing Christmas movie ever made’ - hopefully he meant it in a goode way! We had fun spotting Matthew’s body parts in the pictures accompanying the article ...

Production on A Discovery of Witches season 3 started under strict Covid rules and Matthew was seen filming for ADOW Season 3 in Bristol -

October was a very goode month!

It kicked off with The Wine Show Season 3 teaser -

Matthew ‘sub-section’ Goode joined in with the ADOW cast Q & A. He was a funny and engaging as ever including an unforgettable impression of a ‘wafter’ and a hasty exit at the end!

We had the official ‘first look’ trailer for season 2 of A Discovery of Witches -

The Wine Show season 3 landed on Amazon Prime in the UK and it is SO goode even tho’ there is less Matthew than usual due to filming clashes with ADOW. Matthew was still his adorably goofy self and gave us the usual interesting fashion choices and jokes.

And as if that wasn’t enough excitement for October we got the official news that there will be another Downton Abbey movie - starting to film in March 2021. Hopefully we will see more of him in this one!

Matthew usually keeps his charity projects private but in November we saw him donating his ADOW ‘wedding day’ boots to be auctioned for the Small Steps Project ....

...complete with on mud from the set. Some lucky person is probably stroking that suede as I write this!

Matthew also recorded some charming contributions to the #SaveJenny campaign. He evicted the dog from her favourite chair by the radiator in the kitchen and sat there to read the opening chapter of Wind in the Willows -
