the academic film major ego boost i got when i wrote an essay abt the exorcist and i made a connection between regan and father karras' mother being two sides of the hysteria coin in terms of father karras trying to compensate for his loss of faith by saving regan and that same connection was slightly hinted at in a phd level essay by a film professor
