alongside idw1 (the transformers #44 "The Transgressors"), and if you count it, Cyberverse (season 3) due to Quintessons society is mainly courts commanding genocidal carceral enforcers aside from scientists also working towards the goal of annihilating other species in a policing fashion, that's three continuities that Arcee has fought cops. this will never get old for us <3 thank you Earthspark. we do hope she and Nightshade actually talk to each other sometime- and the count of continuities is actually 4- As was pointed out by arceespinkgun in a reblog of this post, Arcee also rescued her friends from being sentenced to death in the sunbow g1 episode Five Faces of Darkness pt. 2! have to go watch that and update the image below

We knew when we saw Arcee's intro episode where she's teaching the kids to speak out when something's wrong at the same time that Megatron and Optimus are discussing prison aboliton with Bumblebee that Earthspark was going to go in a fighting an oppressive justice system direction, though to be honest we had been waiting since episode 1 for this moment

Cyberverse was a bright and cheerful Transformers show made with love, but definitely made to appeal primarily to the kid demographic and not, like, 40 year olds.

Anyway, here’s the show’s death count.

Blurr - crumbled to dust in front of his friends

Starscream - pummeled to death by Megatron

Slipstream - stabbed in the back, literally, by a member of her own team

All the other Seekers - killed by Starscream (who came back from the dead b/c of course he did)

Drift - betrayed Hot Rod; Hot Rod then kicked him into goo where he drowned

Shockwave - willingly went on a suicide mission so he could corrupt the AllSpark; mostly seemed annoyed by this

Cheetor - willingly sacrificed himself to undo Shockwave’s corruption

Hound - died offscreen when an attempt to disconnect him from a mass hallucination backfired

Maccadam - incinerated by a giant city-former

Starscream - died AGAIN, this time when Megatron and Optimus joined forces to defeat him

Megatron - killed by Megatron X, an even more evil Megatron from an alternate universe

Megatron X - heavily wounded by Optimus and co., Astrotrain carried him off into space where he died

Astrotrain - attacked by Tarn and his followers, crashed and died

Tarn - killed by Soundwave

Soundwave - sacrificed himself to defeat Tarn, leaving naught but a crater where they both had been standing

I might have missed a few, that show was crazy. It wasn’t grimdark either, it was just adventurous. And honestly quite heartfelt, especially the last season. Highly recommend!

not that I'm, like, biased towards Soundwave/Rodimus or anything but in the final Cyberverse movie, Soundwave's catalyzation from Unresistant Captured Entity to Doing Something About The Situation is seeing Hot Rod get beat by Tarn.

Soundwave's in the frame the whole time watching Hot Rod. He's been held at gunpoint by the disposable Tarns for a good portion of this scene and related previous fight scenes. Only after Hot Rod is badly hurt does Soundwave say, "You will pay for this," and unleash the fury of his full power.

On one side we have hot rod and clobber who are such good friends that she left her faction to join the other side with him ( clobber was too sweet for the deceptions anyways) and on the other side we have sound wave and shadowstriker who are evil besties but now I can’t stop thinking about how she took care of laserbeak after his death and how she must have felt about seeing him die in the explosion since she was almost killed in an explosion and
