The Stars Will Always Lead Me To You
Tumblr media
Fandoms : Naruto / Doctor Who
Relationship : Thirteen x Sakura
My Crossover Ships Week 2023 contribution for the prompt : Reincarnation.
I’m sorry for the mistakes, English is not my native language. I hope you like it.
Summary : Sakura put her head in her hands as a sharp pain ran through her. She had never felt this. It was as if her head was going to explode from too much information. Thousands of images raced through her head. She lowered her hands and opened her eyes. She remembered everything. Her name was Rose Tyler and she had regenerated.
Disclaimer : Naruto belongs to Masashi Kishimoto and Doctor Who belongs to the BBC.

The Doctor ran as fast as he could. The ship was heading straight towards a black hole, with about ten people on board. He had thought about all the possibilities and he had found a single solution. He had to gather everyone in one part of the ship and separate the other part to prevent the black hole from sucking them in entirely. But for that, someone had to stay at the risk of being sucked in. Only he could do it. But he would not have thought that Rose would knock him out to take his place.
He did not know how long he had been unconscious, but he had to hurry before it was too late. He had just reunited with her, after all these centuries without her. He had lost Amy, Rory and River, but Rose had reappeared in his life. She was no longer human. The TARDIS had changed something in her so she could not age anymore and she could not die.
For the first time in years, he was happy. They could finally live together forever. But things had not gone as it should and they were going to be separated again. He arrived at the heart of the ship, where it had to split in two. The door was closed. He tried to open it with his sonic screwdriver, but he could not opened it. Rose must have blocked it. He saw her through the glass of the door and he knocked with all his might.
“Rose !” He shouted. “Rose, open the door !” “No way,” she said, making the final adjustments to the central computer. “You won’t sacrifice yourself.” “Don't worry, I'll find a way to get back. But I'm begging you, open that door.”
Rose approached the glass.
“Promise me you won't stop running. You have to travel, find companions and show them the universe. The universe needs you.”
He did not care about the universe, he thought. All that mattered was getting Rose to safety. She put her hand on the glass and the Doctor imitated her. He begged her to discard the idea. Rose smiled, despite the tears streaming down her cheeks.
“The stars will always lead me to you,” she said.
Without taking her eyes off him, she pointed her sonic screwdriver she had made in Pete's world at the computer and the ship split in two. The Doctor felt helpless. All he could do was watching Rose get sucked in the black hole while the part of the ship he was in drifted away.
After getting the entire crew to safety, the Doctor returned to the TARDIS. Why keep helping the universe, he thought bitterly, when the universe was taking everyone he loved from him.
******
Sakura lay down on the ground and watched the stars. The sky was clear and the stars sparkled brilliantly. She had always liked watching them. They soothed and comforted her. As far as she could remember, the stars had always brought her this feeling of well-being. When she was a child, she wanted to travel across the universe so she could visit distant galaxies. She was convinced that it was possible and she was still convinced of it.
Naruto lay down next to her. Sakura looked at him and smiled. He had had an arm transplant four months ago and he had insisted on going on a mission with Sakura. It was a simple two-day mission, but Sakura was happy to spend time with her best friend.
“Still watching at the stars,” he teased gently. “I find them comforting.” “Do you still believe you can travel to the stars ?”
Sakura laughed lightly and she patted his shoulder. Naruto could not help wincing.
“Stop making fun of me.”
But she was convinced that something was about to change. Something important that could change her life. After returning from the mission, Sakura had the strange feeling that she was drawing to the stars more and more. As if they were calling her. Every day, she felt like her brain was assimilating new knowledge, things she had never learned. At night, she had strange dreams. She dreamed of unknown creatures and distant planets. But some things were recurring. A blue box that was bigger on the inside and a man with different faces. One day, while she was sleeping, the name of that man came to her mind.
“Doctor !” Sakura called waking up suddenly.
She put her head in her hands as a sharp pain ran through her. She had never felt this. It was as if her head was going to explode from too much information. Thousands of images raced through her head. London, Powell Estate, Jacky, Mickey, the Doctor, the TARDIS, Bad Wolf, Pete's world, John, her reunion with the Doctor, the black hole.
Sakura lowered her hands and opened her eyes. She remembered everything. Her name was Rose Tyler and when she was being sucked in the black hole, she had regenerated. It was the only explanation she had. She would never have thought that Bad Wolf could do this. She had landed in Konoha as a baby. The Harunos had found her under the cherry blossoms and had named her Sakura. But unlike the Doctor, she had no memory of her past life until today. Sakura remembered the feeling she had that things were about to change. But she would never have believed in this kind of change.
******
Several weeks had passed and Sakura had only one idea in mind, to find the Doctor. But she had no way to contact him. Ever since she had regained her memory, she had been trying to build a device that might be able to send a signal to the TARDIS. She knew it would be complicated and it would take her time. But she was sure of one thing. No matter how many times they were apart, they would always meet again.
******
The Doctor lowered the throttle, but the TARDIS would not listen and did exactly as she pleased. They were heading to an unknown destination deep in the universe and that worried the Doctor. There was a violent jolt and she fell to the floor. She did not understand what was going on. The TARDIS suddenly stopped and the Doctor walked towards the screen. She opened her eyes wide as she read the instructions. Her hearts were pounding so hard she thought they would explode.
It was impossible. She did a new check and the result was the same. Rose was there. On the other side of the door. She remembered that fateful day when Rose had disappeared. There was no way she survived. But maybe… The Doctor felt hope rise in her. Maybe Rose was still alive. After all, it was not the first time that she thought she would not see her again and Rose miraculously reappeared in her life.
The Doctor only knew that she was in a village called Konoha, on a planet similar to Earth but which was millions of light years from where the black hole had been.
The Doctor ran out of the TARDIS. She was in front of a building that was being demolished. She stepped inside and nearly lost her balance when she felt a violent jolt. She arrived in a completely demolished hallway.
“What happened here ?” She wondered.
The floor shook again and the Doctor saw a figure running towards her. It was a young woman, but it was not Rose. She had pink hair and when she arrived in front of the Doctor, she could see her big green eyes.
“You mustn't stay here,” she said. “Run !”
She took her hand and they ran off. This took the Doctor back several centuries when she met Rose. This girl was not Rose, yet she felt the same warmth and sweetness in her hearts. The Doctor looked behind her and she saw two Cybermen. They left the building and the pink haired let go of her hand. The Doctor felt a void, but she came to her senses when the pink haired hit the ground with her fist and the building collapsed.
“Wow !” The Doctor exclaimed. “Impressive.”
The woman grinned from ear to ear.
“Thanks.”
She looked towards the ruined building.
“I must have miscalculated,” she muttered. “The Cybermen should not have heard my call.”
The Doctor watched her. She had spoken far too softly and she had not understood what she had just said. She did not look like Rose. But she knew it was her. Everything in her knew it was Rose. Maybe she had regenerated. After all, there's still a lot she did not know about Bad Wolf.
“Is everything alright ?” She asked, noticing the Doctor watching her. “Yes, it is.”
The Doctor grinned from ear to ear. Suddenly, another Cyberman came towards them. The Doctor walked over to the building's electrical panel. The electrical wires were down. She ran her sonic over the panel. When the Cyberman would step on the wires, he would be electrocuted, she thought. But they had to leave quickly, it was also dangerous for them.
“Let's go,” the Doctor said.
She took her hand and the girl followed her without asking questions. They entered the TARDIS. The Doctor walked to the dashboard, while her guest looked around.
“It's…” she began. “It's bigger on the inside,” the Doctor continued.
She approached the Doctor, smiling.
“I knew you would hear my call.” “Rose,” the Doctor smiled. “From now on, my name is Sakura.”
Another flower name, the Doctor thought.
“What do you think about it ?” Sakura asked. “Is that a good or bad difference ?” “A good difference,” she answered, she had never been so happy.
Sakura took her hand and squeezed it.
“The stars will always lead me to you.”
This sentence which had caused her so much pain, now made her happy. She took Sakura in her arms and kissed her. She was reunited with her and she did not want to spend a second away from her.
No matter what would happen. Whether her name was Rose or Sakura. She was finally with the Doctor, aboard the TARDIS, forever.
The end

Summary: The kingdom of Bright Moon receives two visitors.
For @crossover-ships-brainrot's Crossover Week!
Day 1 SFW- Amity Blight/Adora, Secret Relationship, Royalty, “I didn’t know where else to go.”
Serving under Queen Angella was a much different experience than serving under Queen Odalia.
It was a nice different, Darius had to say. Bright Moon’s queen actually liked her subjects and didn’t just see them as a source of funds like the Blight queen did. He felt safe here. Yes, occasionally he felt homesick and Princess Glimmer could cause chaos, but that was life. Glimmer was almost a perfect replacement for the Blight twins.
Not for the youngest Blight girl, standing in the throne room with a blonde girl’s arm protectively wrapped around her shoulders. “My apologies, your Majesty,” the blonde said. “I didn’t know where else to go. The Blight kingdom was no longer safe for me and my partner.”
Angella had been staring at the blonde with a look of surprise. She closed her mouth and took a deep breath. “Adora, when you first came under my roof, I promised you that you would always be safe here. No matter how long it’s been, you are always safe.” Her eyes drifted towards the princess. “However, I have to ask why Princess Amity was no longer safe in her home.”
Amity reached into her pocket and pulled out a letter. “I have a letter explaining everything that I am supposed to give to you and Advisor Deamonne.” She held it up. Angella glanced at him and Darius stepped forward, taking the letter. “It’s a pleasure to see you, Advisor.”
“It is a pleasure to see you as well, Princess.” Darius had saw an excellent queen in her when he had worked in the Blight kingdom. It might’ve been too hasty a call, since she had been fourteen at the time, but Darius could still see that talent and energy in her. He glanced down at the letter and raised a brow. “This is Alador’s seal.”
“Yes,” the princess nodded. “He’s the one who arranged this.”
“Still,” Angella spoke up, her cool voice a breaker in the “nice” conversation. “I would like to hear your version of the story.”
Amity and Adora exchanged looks and the princess nodded. The blonde took a deep breath. “My mother caught us having a secret relationship.” The words sounded professional, but Darius’s eye caught how her hands were trembling. Before Amity gave her hand a squeeze, at least. “The queen preferred us to have a professional relationship, considering how I am her daughter’s guard.” A few brows raised but Adora continued on. “King Alador feared bloodshed, so he and Prince Edric and Princess Emira smuggled us out of the kingdom.” She took a deep breath. “He hoped you would shelter at least the princess.”
Angella nodded and glanced at Darius. “By bloodshed, was he fearing an incident similar to Luz Noceda?”
Amity’s breath hitched and Darius found himself biting his lip.
Luz Noceda was a symbol of rebellion in the Blight Kingdom. She had been the adopted daughter of a rebel leader, using her position as the niece of Amity’s teacher to neak inside the palace to get information about the royal family. Along the way, however, she and the princess, both fourteen, had fallen in love.
Luz Noceda had been the first put to death when the rebels were captured.
(Rumors said that Odalia made Amity watch.)
“Yes.” Amity spoke up. Despite the great emotional pain she must’ve been feeling, she nodded. “He did.”
Angella nodded. “I see.” Her great wings spread as she stood. “We will send an official declaration when the sun rises, but Amity Blight, you are officially a ward of Bright Moon.”
Adora smiled, pulling Amity close and kissing her brow.
“Thank you, your Majesty.”

Elle sourit malicieusement.
« Tu n’as pas envie de savoir. »

Edward opened the door to the clinic and greeted the secretary. After two years since the clinic had opened, he knew the place by heart. He made his way to Sakura's office, holding a bag containing her lunch. He knew that she had forgotten to eat. At this time, she had no patient and she must seize the opportunity to focus on a complicated case that she had to treat.
It had been three years since Sakura had arrived in Resembool. After the Fourth Shinobi World War, Sakura had left Konoha to travel around the world and to help people. She had brought her medical knowledge to several towns and villages and she had helped several hospitals. One day she arrived in Resembool and opened a small clinic.
Edward had heard of what had happened in the eastern countries and in particular in the ninja nations. All the newspapers had talked about it. They had also talked about the new Legendary Sannin, and Sakura was one of them. Sakura also knew who he was. Upon her arrival in Amestris, she realized that everyone knew the Fullmetal Alchemist.
When she arrived in Resembool, she thought she would stay only a few weeks, help the inhabitants and leave, as she did on each of her trips. Resembool had no doctor since the death of Winry's parents. All the inhabitants became fond of the young and pretty doctor who had arrived.
Weeks turned into months, and then Sakura opened a small clinic, which ended up growing. Edward had been there from the start and he had helped her build it. A friendship had formed between them, until it turned into romantic feelings. They understood each other. She was a kunoichi and he had been dog of the military. They had been through things and made choices that no one could understand.
He knocked on the door and opened it. As he had guessed, she was sitting behind her desk, concentrating on a file. She had not looked up and she certainly had not noticed his presence. He put the lunch on her desk and Sakura looked up at him in surprise.
“Is it lunch time already ?”
Edward nodded.
“I knew you were going to forget to eat, so I brought this to you.”
Sakura blushed when her stomach rumbled from hunger. She grabbed the dishes Edward had taken out and took a bite.
“I love you,” she said. “Are you talking to me or to the food ?”
She smirked.
“You don't want to know.”
Edward laughed lightly. He sat down in front of her and they both had lunch. His attention turned to Sakura's hands. They were damaged and had scars from her training and her fighting. But Edward had always found them beautiful. They showed who she was. A doctor and a fighter. He knew all the scars on her body and he knew the stories behind each one. One day he had asked her why she did not heal them, while she repaired bodies and erased people's scars.
“To not forget,” she had answered.
He unconsciously put his hand on his arm and leg. He understood what she meant. He took her hand and kissed the scar she had made during her first training with Tsunade. No matter the scars she might have, he loved her, her scars and her story.

I Didn't Know Where Else To Go

My Crossover Ships Week 2023 contribution for the prompt : I didn't know where else to go.
I’m sorry for the mistakes, English is not my native language. I hope you like it.
Summary : Edward did not know what to do, he did not know where to go. He was about to get on the train to Central City, but at the last moment he bought a ticket for the countries of the East to Konoha. He needed to see Sakura.

Edward arrived at Konoha. He had been traveling all day and he hoped that Sakura would not blame him for arriving so late. He knew he should have gone back to Central City to meet up with Alphonse and Winry, but he could not. He was not ready to confess to his brother what he had discovered. How could he tell him that he had lost his body when the human transmutation they had done was not their mother.
He did not know what to do, he did not know where to go. He was about to get on the train to Central City, but at the last moment he bought a ticket for the countries of the East to Konoha. He needed to see Sakura.
They knew each other since forever. Their mothers were childhood friends and the Harunos lived in the house next to the Elrics. They were always together, until the Haruno family moved to Sakura's father native village when she was six years old.
Despite the distance, they were always there for each other. When she was being harassed by the girls in her class because of her forehead, she called him and he said in a determined voice that he would take the first train to Konoha and defend her against these pests. She had laughed, calling him affectionately an idiot and she stopped crying. She had called to tell him that she had made a new friend, Ino. When Trisha died, she held his hand throughout the funeral. She had called him when she had learned that the human transmutation they had done had cost their bodies to him and Alphonse. He had been the first person she called when she became a genin and she had been the first person he told he became a State Alchemist.
They were there for each other for every stages of their lives. They saw each other from time to time when Sakura had a mission in Amestris or the Elric brothers were on a mission in the Land of Fire. Lately, Edward has been more distant towards her. After everything that had happened with Scar, the Homunculi, the philosopher's stone, he did not want to worry her or put her in any more danger.
But today he needed to see her, he needed her to tell him that everything would be fine. He arrived in front of her door. He took a deep breath and knocked. The door opened and Sakura appeared. She opened her eyes wide when she saw him.
“Ed ?” “I didn't know where else to go.”
She ushered him in and led him to the living room.
“Your parents aren't here ? ” He asked. “They are in Suna for their work. They will come back in two days.”
Sakura's parents were merchants and they sometimes traveled to other villages to sell their products. Sakura sat down on the couch and told Edward to sit next to her.
“Is everything alright ?” She asked. “Where is Al ?” “He's in Central City with Winry. I had to leave them there and go to Resembool. My father was there.”
Sakura frowned. Hohenheim was a sensitive subject for Edward and Alphonse. Sakura put her hand over his and Edward squeezed it.
“That bastard,” he said hatefully. “He left as quickly as he came, But it's not just that.”
He told her what he had learned. That the human transmutation he and his brother had done was not their mother. Sakura listened to him carefully and when his hand shook, she squeezed it a little more to tell him that she was there for him and that she would not give up on him.
“With Grandma Pinako, we buried him. It wasn't our mother, but it was alive. I created it, I had to bury it with dignity.”
He sighed and put his face in his hands. Sakura suddenly realized that he was no longer the boy she had known. He had grown and he had changed, just like her.
“I don't know how to tell Al that.” “He won't blame you. And then you said you had a theory about human transmutation and how to restore Al's body.”
Edward nodded, but he could not help feeling guilty. Without him needing to say anything, Sakura understood what he was thinking. She gently stroked his hair and took him in her arms. Edward nuzzled his face into the crook of her neck and hugged her. Being with her had done him good. He was now ready to face the trials that awaited him. He was going to tell Alphonse everything he had learned and he will restore his body.
Sakura continued to stroke his hair. He felt tiredness he had accumulated over his last days overwhelm him and he ended up falling asleep in her arms.

Summary : “Who are you ?” Stefan asked. “You appear in my life to disappear immediately. One day you know me and another day it's like you've never met me. So I want to know. Who are you ?”
Rose gave him an amused smile. But Stefan saw nothing amusing. She knew all about him, but he knew nothing about her.
“Spoiler.”

Stefan wrapped his arms around his bent knees. He was sitting in front of his mother's grave, staring at her tombstone. He did not know how long he had been sitting here. Night had fallen and he shivered from the cold. His father had told him that he was a man now and men did not cry. Yet, he could not stop his tears from flowing. It had been a week since his mother had died and since her funeral, he had gone out at night to spend some moment in silence at her graveside. His father must not know he was there or he would be furious with him. Worse, he would blame Damon for not watching him.
Suddenly, he heard a strange noise. Something unreal, something he had never heard before. He looked up and saw a young woman approaching him. He was sure he had never seen her in Mystic Falls. She was blonde and she was a few years older than him. He frowned when he saw her clothes. She wore pants, like men, but it was the first time he had seen this kind of clothing. He had never met a Southern woman dressed like this before.
“It's late,” she said. “You shouldn't be out at this hour.” “You neither.” “You're right.”
She smiled kindly at him, and strangely, Stefan felt like he could trust her. She sat down next to him. Stefan watched her every move. She must have been twenty years old, but yet something in her eyes and in her attitude showed that she was much older than she looked.
“It's my mother's grave,” Stefan said. “She died a week ago.”
Stefan started talking to her. He told her who his mother was. The bedtime stories she read to him, her smiles, the times she hugged him to comfort him when his father hit him for disobeying him. He told this stranger woman things he had not even told Damon. He confessed to her it was his fault that his mother died. If he had run faster, he would have returned in time to bring her the plants his father had sent him for.
“These plants could not have saved your mother from tuberculosis,” the woman said. “It's not your fault.”
Stefan would not have thought it possible, but it had done him good to talk to this stranger.
“I have to go home,” Stefan said, standing up. “Will you be staying at Mystic Falls ?” “No, I have to leave, but we'll see each other again.” “What is your name ?”
She smiled enigmatically at him.
“I am the Bad Wolf.”
Stefan looked at her in astonishment. She was a bit strange, but he could feel there was nothing bad about her. He left the cemetery. He heard that unreal noise again. He walked towards the noise, but there was nothing. He wondered if he had imagined it all. Everything that had just happened seemed to have been a dream.
******
Stefan arrived at the Founder's Day. For the first time in a long time, he felt good. His brother had returned from the war and luckily he had not been injured. And he had made the most beautiful of encounters. Katherine Pierce. He would never have thought it was possible to fall in love so quickly.
He was waiting for her, sitting on a bench. He could not wait to see her. Something caught his attention. Or rather someone. A young blond woman who passed by him. Despite the years, he had recognized her. This time, she was not alone. She was accompanied by a man older than her. She had not seen him, or she had not recognized him. After all, he was only a child when he met her. He stood up and followed them. After a while, she and the man finally went separate ways and Stefan had the courage to accost her.
“Excuse me,” he said.
He felt a little silly to speak to her this way. But he did not know her name and he did not want to call her Bad Wolf. She turned around and seeing her up close, he was surprised to see that she was still so young. As if time had stopped for her. But her eyes were different. They were younger and innocent. She was smiling at him and Stefan could not help smiling back.
“I'm sorry to accost you like this,” he said. “You probably don't remember, but we met a few years ago.” “You must be mistaken. I have never been here before. I've been traveling for a very short time.”
Stefan knew it was her and it was no wonder she did not remember him. But it was hard to believe that she had forgotten her coming to Mystic Falls.
“I have to go join my friend,” she said. “Could I ask you your name ?” “Rose Tyler.” “Nice to meet you Rose Tyler.” “Nice to meet you too….” “Stefan Salvatore.”
Rose nodded and smiled. She said goodbye to him and left. Stefan looked at her walking away and wondered if he would see her again. He heard someone calling him and he smiled when he saw Katherine approaching.
“Who was she ?” She asked. “No idea.”
He did not know why, but he wanted to keep his encounter with Rose to himself. He did not see the evil look Katherine was giving in the direction Rose had just left.
“Are you ready to enjoy this day ?”
Stefan stretched his arm towards her. Katherine nodded and gave him a flirtatious look. Stefan looked one last time in Rose's direction before returning his attention to Katherine.
******
The third time Stefan had seen Rose was in 1904. He had not shown himself and had followed her discreetly. She had not aged. She was exactly as he remembered her. Stefan realized that she was not human. Given the age she should be, she should be very old or dead. Was she a vampire ?
She was accompanied by a man a little older than her and who was wearing a long brown coat. They were holding hands and smiling at each other. Nothing seemed to matter around them. Stefan saw immediately that they were in love. He had never felt this. Sure, he had loved Katherine, but not as he could see the love between Rose and this man.
He continued to follow them until they stopped at a street corner where there was a strange blue box with the word police written on it. It was in plain sight, but no one paid attention to it. Rose and the man entered inside and the box disappeared with a strange noise. Stefan opened his eyes wide. It was the same noise the day he had met Rose.
******
Stefan walked into his apartment and wiped the blood from the corners of his lips with his thumb. He never thought he would have so much fun in Chicago. But the fun had really started when he met Klaus and Rebekah. He liked Rebekah and he was not ashamed to say that Klaus had become like a brother to him. For the first time, he felt like someone really understood him and was ready to follow him in his quest for new prey.
He entered the room where the names of his victims were engraved. He took a knife and began to carve the name of his latest victim. He applied himself, these names were like a trophy. He was proud of it. He had shown his ritual to Klaus who had smiled at him, approving what he was doing.
He frowned when he heard the sound of the box in which Rose had disappeared years ago. What did that mean ? What was she doing there ? He headed for the hall and discovered a blue door next to his front door. He approached the blue door and put his hand on the handle. It vibrated and he felt like the door was trying to communicate with him. But it was impossible. It was just a door.
He turned around when he felt a presence behind him. Rose was there and despite her smile, he could see sadness in her eyes. Was she sad for him ? Sad to see what he had become ? He smiled evilly to her. He was not ashamed of who he was. On the contrary, he had never felt so alive.
“It's not safe to go into people's homes. You never know who you might bump into.” “I heard rumors about a serial killer. A Ripper who plagues the city.”
Stefan wanted to laugh. Of course, humans immediately think of a serial killer and not a vampire.
“I know I mustn't interfere,” she said. “But I can't stay without trying to help you.” “You want to help me ? You act like you know me Rose Tyler, the Bad Wolf. But you, who are you ? Obviously, you're not human. But you don't look like a vampire either.”
He approached her, but she did not seem afraid. Yet, he could kill her in a second. She was an idiot, he thought. He looked at the vein in her neck. He could see it beating and feel her blood flowing. He wondered what taste it could have. He stood behind her and immobilized her. He was much faster and stronger than her. She could not do anything to stop him. He stuck his fangs into the veins of her neck and drained her of blood. He had never tasted anything like that, her blood was so delicious, almost addicted. Slowly, he could feel her life leaving her. Her heart stopped beating and he dropped her to the floor.
He took a knife and went back to the list of names to carve hers. He wrote the letters RO when he heard a noise where he had left her body. He headed for the hall and could not believe his eyes. Rose took a deep breath and snapped her eyes open. She stood up and winced, putting her hand to her neck.
“This is the first time I have been drained of my blood.” “How... How is that possible ?”
Rose looked at him.
“I can't die. At least not really. I've died thousands of times, thousands of different ways. But each time, I come back to life. I can't age, I'm like frozen in time.”
Stefan did not know what to think. Even a vampire could die from the sun or a stake in the heart.
“I promise not to give up. I will find a way to help you and bring you back to who you were.” “Why would you want me to be that pathetic being again ?” “You are not pathetic Stefan. And I won't give up because I care about you.”
She cared about him ? How was it possible when they had only seen each other three times. Stefan felt something deep in his heart. He understood that it was an emotion. No. He did not want his emotions back. He closed his eyes and silenced every emotion he felt. When he opened his eyes, Rose and the blue door were gone.
******
Stefan plunged his hands into the river to wash the blood off. He had run away into the forest and found a patch of water. He was overwhelmed with a flood of emotion and he thought his head was going to explode. He relived all the horrors he had committed, all the massacres he had done, until he became the Ripper of Monterrey. He had killed all the men, women, and children he found. There were no survivors. Even if the blood was gone from his hands, he felt like he could not get it off. He quickly turned around when he heard footsteps. Lexi was there. He did not dare to look at her. He was too ashamed of what he had become.
“How did you know I was there ?” He asked. “I received a letter from a friend of yours who told me where to find you.”
She took a blue envelope out of her bag. The same blue as the door that had appeared in his apartment. Rose, Stefan thought. Lexi handed him the envelope and Stefan took it with a shaking hand. He opened it and read it. Rose was asking Lexi for help, telling her what had happened to him and where she could find him. He wondered how she had known he had become the Ripper of Monterrey. He could not help thinking that she had found a way to help him by sending Lexi to him.
Tears streamed down his cheeks and he could not stop them. Lexi put her arms around him and hugged him tightly. He had to stay strong and never go back to darkness.
******
1978 in New York. It had been ten years since Lexi and Stefan had been in this town. A big city like New York was ideal for vampires. They could stay there for decades without anyone paying attention to them. He was walking down Fifth Avenue when he suddenly felt the earth shook under his feet. The tremors were so slight that no one had noticed. He saw a light in an alley. He approached and discovered a blue door in the middle of the alley. Rose was there. There was something unreal seeing that door that led nowhere. But to Rose, nothing seemed impossible.
Yet, he knew something was wrong. From where he was, he could feel warmth emanating from the door. He walked over and put his hand on the handle. He took it off immediately. The handle was hot. He looked at the palm of his hand which had been burned. His hand healed in seconds.
He moved away slightly when the door opened. Rose got out and fell to her knees. She was shaking and put her head in her hands.
“They are all dead. It's my fault. The universe... It's because of me.”
He knew that look. It was the same one he had when he got his emotions back and realized what he had done. Rose was broken. He knelt down in front of her and put his hand on her shoulder.
“Rose.”
She stopped shaking and noticed him for the first time.
“We know each other,” she said. “We've met before.”
She looked at him as if she was trying to remember who he was.
“You are Stefan. I met you when I was looking for the Doctor.”
He did not understand what she was saying, but he did understood was she was not the same Rose who had appeared in his apartment or who had written to Lexi. She kept talking, as if he was not there.
“That means I'm back and the Doctor is here. I have to find him.”
She stood up, still talking about a doctor. She returned to the door and it disappeared. Stefan stood up. Every encounter with Rose was disconcerting, and this one more than the others. He reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out Rose's letter. He always kept it on him to remind him not to lose himself. To remind him that something allowed him to keep his humanity and that his fight against his bloodlust was not in vain. Rose had helped him and when he would see her again, because he knew he would see her again, he would be there for her if she needed him.
******
“Wait here for me,” Lexi said. “I'll be right back.”
She walked away into the crowd and Stefan smiled. It was his birthday and Lexi had taken him to Bon Jovi concert. But his birthday did not end there. Lexi had decided to compel their manager so they could meet the band backstage.
“What's the point of being a vampire if you can't meet the best band in the world," she said with a huge smile.
Every birthday he spent with her was an amazing birthday.
“Stefan, here you are. I was looking for you everywhere.”
Rose approached him with a dazzling smile. She took his hand, as if it came naturally to her.
“I'm glad you persuaded me to come. Do you realize that I had never been to a Bon Jovi concert ?”
She frowned and stared at him. A glimmer of understanding appeared in her eyes. She let go of his hand.
“You are not my Stefan. The one I travel with. That's why you were so insistent for us to attend the concert. You knew I was going to meet you.”
She was about to leave, but Stefan stopped her by grabbing her arm. Rose looked at him, surprised.
“Who are you ?” He asked. “You appear in my life to disappear immediately. One day you know me and another day it's like you've never met me. So I want to know. Who are you ?”
She gave him an amused smile. But Stefan saw nothing amusing. She knew all about him, but he knew nothing about her.
“Spoiler.”
She wanted to leave, but he stopped her by squeezing her arm a little tighter. He wanted to have his questions answered. She put her free hand on his cheek and looked deeply into his eyes.
“Do you trust me ?”
He nodded. Even so, he trusted her.
“One day you will have answers. But now is not the time. Wait a little longer.”
Stefan let go of her arm and Rose walked away. Lexi arrived and stood next to her friend.
“Was that...” “Rose.” “What are you waiting for ? Go after her.” “It's not the time yet.” “But…” “Can we meet the band ?”
Lexi nodded and refrained from insisting that he should catch up with Rose.
“So let's go,” he said.
He put his arm around her shoulders and she led him backstage. If he had decided to wait, then she would respect his choice.
******
Stefan had been back in Mytic Falls for a few days ago. He had moved into his old home which now belonged to Zach. It had been more than fifteen years since he had seen him. Since that tragic day when Damon had killed his wife and Stefan had hidden their daughter to save her.
He left the Mystic Grill and headed for the Salvatore Boarding House. Since his return to town, he had kept a low profile. He passed by the cemetery. It had been a long time since he had spent some moment in silence at his mother graveside and at the other people he had once known. In the distance, he saw a young woman sitting near the graves. She had her back to him, but he recognized Rose. He approached and heard her talking, as if she were on the phone.
“No Mickey, I haven't found him yet. But I narrowly missed him, he was there. I know I will find the Doctor.”
Stefan frowned. He remembered when he saw her in New York in 1978, she had mentioned a doctor she had to find. He heard the end of her conversation.
“I have to wait for the cannon to recharge and then I'll be back.”
Stefan stood in front of her. She had her knees pulled up to her chest and her head resting on her knees. He saw a strange item next to her. But he could not tell if it was a weapon or not.
“Good evening.”
Rose looked up at him. Her eyes were red from crying. He knew she was not the Rose of 1978, nor the one he had met at the Bon Jovi concert. She did not seem to recognize him. He had understood that there were several Roses from different times. As if she traveled back in time and they met out of order. He knew that this was not rational and that time travel did not exist. Yet vampires were not supposed to exist either. Rose stood up abruptly.
“I'm sorry. Is it a member of your family ?”
Stefan shook his head and looked at the grave that belonged to a member of the Lockwood family. He remembered that this man was one of his father's friends.
“Aren't you afraid to be alone at night in a cemetery ?” “I'm just passing through. I will be leaving soon.”
She glanced quickly at the item on the ground.
“I didn't mean to pry, but I heard you mention a doctor.”
Rose smiled sadly.
“The Doctor,” she corrected him. “I have to find him. The survival of the universe is at stake.”
She laughed lightly.
“You must think I'm crazy.” “No, I don't,” Stefan smiled. “The Doctor seems like someone important to you.” “He is. I won't stop until I've found him and I feel like it will be soon.”
She put her hand on her heart. Everything in her movements and in her words showed the love she had for the Doctor. Stefan remembered a man holding Rose's hand. So, he was the Doctor.
“I hope you'll find him.”
He sincerely hoped so. Because Rose deserved to be happy.
“I didn't ask your name.” “Stefan Salvatore.”
Stefan held out his hand and Rose shook it.
“Rose Tyler.”
Of course, this Rose did not remember having met him in 1863. Stefan suppressed a smile. It was the first time he knew things she did not. Rose picked up the item from the ground. She said goodbye to him and left the cemetery. But Stefan knew that one day or another, she would reappear in his life. He wondered which Rose he would meet.
******
Stefan poured himself a glass of bourbon and stood in front of the fireplace. Damon was in his bedroom with his friend Rose who was dying from a werewolf bite. He's been thinking a lot about Rose lately. Probably because of the vampire with the same name who was helping them to save Elena from Klaus and Elijah.
He wondered how his Rose was doing. He wondered how he would react if he were in his brother's shoes. What would he do if it was Rose who was dying in that bed ? She had always been a part of his life and the urge to turn his emotion off would probably be very strong if such a thing were to happen. What comforted him was that she could not die. He heard the sound of the blue door behind him. He did not need to turn around, he knew Rose had just arrived. The door opened and she appeared. He heard her mumble.
“What are we doing here ? That's not where I asked you to go.”
She stood at the other end of the living room and looked around. She had not noticed him.
“Rose,” he called her.
She turned to him and opened her eyes wide. She sighed and put her hand affectionately on the door.
“That's why you brought me here. You do exactly as you please.”
If anyone else saw her talking to a door, it would astonish them. Stefan poured a glass of bourbon for Rose and she accepted it.
“Why are you here ?” He asked. “Apparently, it is a will of the TARDIS.” “The TARDIS ?”
Rose nodded and looked at the door.
“Time And Relative Dimension In Space. The TARDIS.” “You talk about it as if the door is alive.” “That's because she is. And she's not just a door.”
Stefan sat down on the couch and asked Rose to sit next to him.
“I think it's time for you to answer my questions.” “Are you sure ?” Rose asked as she sat down.
Stefan nodded. He had been waiting for almost one hundred and sixty years, now it was time.
“I know you're not human. But you're not a vampire either.” “I was human centuries ago. And I looked into the heart of the TARDIS.”
She told him about her encounter with the Doctor, how she became Bad Wolf and Pete's world. She told him about her trips aboard their TARDIS with John and their children. All of them were human, they aged and died. She told him how after four centuries, the universes were about to disappear and the difficult choice she had to make.
“I had to either save Pete's world and sacrifice all the universes or sacrifice Pete's world to save thousands of universes.”
She gazed vacantly into space, remembering this painful moment of her life. Stefan squeezed her hand in his to give her comfort. Rose smiled sadly at him.
“I thought I was going crazy. You're the first person I met after Pete's world was destroyed. After I destroyed it. You probably don't remember it.” “I remember each of our meetings. You said you had to find the Doctor. Did you find him ?” “I did, I found him after a few years. He had regenerated and he was married. I should have hated his wife, but she has become one of my dearest friends. They helped me deal with the guilt I felt. He wasn't my Doctor anymore, but that didn't matter. I already had my happy ending with my Doctor. And I wouldn't change that for the world.”
The mystery that was Rose was finally solved and Stefan felt closer to her. Somehow they were alike because of the ordeal they had gone through. She stood up, grabbed his phone from the bar and noted something.
“I give you the TARDIS number.” “The TARDIS has the phone ?”
She looked at him, amused.
“The TARDIS has more than you think. If one day you want to travel through time and space, whether in five minutes, five years or five centuries, call this number.”
She tossed the phone to him and he caught it with agility. She walked over to the TARDIS and opened it.
“See you soon,” she said, waving at him.
She stepped inside and the ship disappeared. Stefan looked at the number she had just jotted down in the phone. He could not leave Elena. He loved her, as much as Rose had loved John, and he would do anything to save her from Klaus. And despite what Damon said, his brother needed him.
Maybe one day he would change his mind, but for now his life was in Mystic Falls.
******
“Now that you can go wherever you want, where do you plan to go ?” Lexi asked.
The veil between the living world and purgatory would soon be dropped again. Lexi had been able to spend one last day with Stefan and this time everything had passed without violence and without pain. They could have the goodbyes they should have had the first time.
“I've never been to Portland.”
Lexi opened her eyes wide.
“Portland ! Are you kidding me ? You have Rose's number in your phone. You could travel through time and space with her.” “How do you know she gave me her number ?” “I never stopped watching over you.”
Stefan smiled tenderly at her. He was lucky to have a friend like Lexi.
“I know what happened with Elena hurt you. She was your true love and you feel like you won't be able to love again. But the advantage of being a vampire is that you can have several true loves. And Rose could be one of them.”
Stefan did not answer. Maybe she was right. Nothing kept him in Mystic Falls anymore. Elena had chosen Damon and he had promised his brother that he would disappear to let them live their love.
He looked at Lexi, but she was gone. The veil dropped again. He continued to drive and once arrived at his destination, he threw Silas' body in the water. He took a deep breath. For the first time in his long life, he felt free to go and do whatever he wanted. He took out his phone, scrolled up until he saw Rose's number, and called her.
“Take me with you,” he said when she picked up.
In barely a second, The TARDIS appeared in front of him. The door opened and Stefan entered. He looked around. He have never tough that such a large space could exist behind this door. Of all the experiences he had had, this was by far the most surprising.
“Welcome aboard,” Rose said from behind the ship's controls. “Where do you want to go ? Pass ? Future ? In a galaxy far, far away ?” “Surprise me.”
Stefan approached and a huge smile lit up Rose's face. The door closed and the TARDIS disappeared, taking Stefan and Rose away for the start of their journey.

Edward slowly opened his eyes. A ray of sunlight passed through the half-open curtain. Edward turned to the other side of the bed and looked at Sakura. He smiled. She was lying on her stomach and she was sleeping peacefully. His looked at her bare shoulder where his first name was tattooed. He was lucky to have Sakura as a soulmate.
He had his mark when he was nine years old, at the same age as Sakura, at the same time. Sakura's first name had appeared in the night on his right forearm. At the time, he did not want a soulmate. It did not interest him. All that mattered to him was learning as much as possible about alchemy and not thinking of a potential soulmate he was sure he would never meet.
When he had lost his arm, there was no more tattoo, no more soulmate, nothing. There was just metal. He knew things did not work that way. You did not lose your soulmate because your member had been ripped off. He felt a void every time he looked at his automail.
He had met Sakura when he was fifteen. He had been seriously injured and Sakura had healed him. She was on a mission at Central City Hospital. Tsunade had sent her at the request of the head of the hospital. When Edward first heard her name, he felt complete. As if he had found his place with her. He did not want to be separated from her anymore, but he knew that was impossible. His life was far too dangerous and he wanted to protect her. In no time, she had become his priority. So he had left the hospital without telling her his name. It was better this way, he tried to convince himself each time he looked at his automail.
The more he was far from her, the more he felt this emptiness in his heart. The more time passed, the more he suffered of the distance. But he had to hold on. Until he and Alphonse restored their bodies, he had to stay away from Sakura.
He saw her again several years later, when he was twenty. After the Fourth Shinobi World War, she went on a trip through different countries. She wanted to help as many people as possible.
One day she had arrived at Resembool and had met Edward again. He was finally able to tell her who he was. She was furious with him and he quickly realized how strong she was. She had called him an idiot and told him that they would have saved themselves years of pain if he had said who he was from the start. But she understood why he had done that and she told him that she would certainly have done the same.
Edward approached and kissed her shoulder. Sakura moved slightly but did not wake up. He finally had the happy life he had wanted with her since the first time he had heard her name.

Mikey was driving way too fast. He knew he should have slowed down, but he needed to feel that speed. He had dissolved the Toman, he and his friends had buried the time capsule. From now on, he would not see them again, it was over. He could not stay with them if he wanted to protect them. He knew that one day or another the dark impulse inside him would catch him up and he did not want to drag them with him.
He accelerated a little more. Going ever faster, it is as if he was trying to escape the dark impulse. Suddenly he saw a truck coming towards him. He had veered off the road without realizing it. He was going too fast and he would not have time to avoid it. Maybe it was better that way. Maybe it was for the best to end it now.
Suddenly he felt someone grab him and carry him. He felt like he was flying away. He heard his motorcycle crash into a wall. He landed softly on the ground and the person who had just saved him let go of him. He looked up and saw in front of him a boy the same age as him. He recognized him. He had seen it on television during the U.A Sports Festival. It was Izuku Midoriya. An apprentice hero had just saved his life. Why him ? Why had he bothered to save him ?
“Is everything alright ?” Izuku asked.
Mikey nodded, not knowing what else to say. He heard rescue coming. He glanced at Izuku again. He noticed he was wearing his U.A uniform. He was going to school. Mikey almost wanted to laugh. He had not been to school for a long time and he had no desire to go back. Izuku opened his eyes wide as he looked at his phone.
“Oh no, I'm late,” he mumbled.
He looked at Mikey with kindliness. Mikey could not remember the last time anyone had looked at him like that. The adults looked at him with contempt because he was part of a gang. Middle and high school students looked at him with fear because he was the Invincible Mikey. The members of the Toman looked at him with respect and admiration because he was their leader. Shinichiro had been the only one to look at him like that.
“Rescue is here,” Izuku said. “Are you going to be okay ?” “Yes, I will.”
Izuku nodded and smiled at him. He ran towards U.A. Mikey watched him go, until he disappeared into the distance. He had had a second chance, but what good would it do him if his dark impulse caught up with him.
******
Mikey was in a closed down building where the old offices of a company were. Koko and Sanzu were with him. Shortly after the Toman had been dissolved, they tracked him down and suggested to form a new gang. The Bonten. The gang was small, but with Mikey's reputation, several people sought to become member of the Bonten. They had specialized in theft and racketeering. They were far from what the Toman could be.
Mikey turned off the television. It was old, the picture was bad and the sound was loud, but he had understood the main point.
Dabi from the League of Villains had just revealed that he was Toya Todoroki, Endeavor’s eldest son everyone thought was dead. Not only did he just reveal who he was, but also that Endeavor, the number one hero everyone looked up to, was an abusive husband and father. It was obvious that after these revelations and the battles that had just taken place between heroes and villains, the country was going to enter into crisis. Koko looked at Mikey and smirked.
“With what's going on, I feel like there's a lot of money to make.” “People may not trust heroes anymore and they will want to arm themselves to protect themselves,” Sanzu said. “What do you think of it, Mikey ?” “Why not.”
That was enough for Koko, who smiled even more, thinking of the profits he was going to make. Mikey stared at the black screen of the television. What are you going to do now, Deku ?
******
The more the country got bogged down in the crisis, the more it benefited the Bonten business. The gang grew and made a name for itself in the middle. U.A had opened its doors to protect the inhabitants. Mikey wondered if the former members of the Toman had taken refuge there. Deep down, he hoped so. If he had dissolved the Toman and distanced himself from his friends, it was to protect them and for them to have a future. He had no right to take them into the darkness that seized him.
Mikey turned into an alley and he saw someone following him out of the corner of his eye. He had felt a presence since he left one of his hideout. He had told Sanzu to be in charge of a weapons delivery that had just arrived illegally from the United States. If someone was following him, he wanted to be alone to solve the problem. He stopped walking and turned around.
He saw that it was the leader of a Roppongi gang. Mikey had never met him until now, but he had often heard of him, even when he was still the leader of the Toman. He was older than him and he was one of those who benefited from the crisis. The man raised his arm and pointed his gun at Mikey.
“So you're the Invincible Mikey !” He said with a wicked smile. “I still can't understand how a kid like you can impede my progress.”
Mikey could not help smiling. So it was because of competition between gangs. The man fired. The bullet grazed Mikey's cheek. The scratch was deep enough to bleed, but not deep enough to do any damage.
“Stop smiling !”
Mikey wiped the dripping blood with his sleeve. He gave him a menacing look. He had no time to waste with this idiot.
“Next time don't miss me if you don't want me to kill you.”
The man's hand shook slightly. He may have been just a kid, but everyone knew who he was. He was Mikey. The former leader of Toman and the leader of the Bonten.
Without understanding what was happening, Mikey saw streams of black energy wrap around the man in front of him and throw him backwards. The shock was strong enough to knock him unconscious, but not enough to seriously injure him. Mikey saw the person who had just saved him. It was a hero who was still in service. Mikey had heard of him. He arrested outlaws without respite. Some civilians feared him because of his appearance, but under his damaged and filthy costume, Mikey recognized Deku.
“The police will arrive soon,” Izuku said.
He was about to leave, but Mikey stopped him.
“Won't you arrest me, Deku ?”
Izuku frozed.
“Do you know who I am ?” Mikey continued.
If he had any idea of who he was and the harm he was capable of doing, he would not let him get away.
“Manjiro Sano, the leader of the Bonten.”
Mikey opened his eyes wide.
“So why don't you arrest me ? I'm no better than him or the villains.”
Izuku lowered his mask. He turned and looked at Mikey. Despite a great exhaustion, Mikey saw determination in his eyes.
“The first time we met, I saw something in your eyes. There was hope, as if you wanted to get out of it. I would fight until the end to keep this hope alive.”
Izuku put his mask back and left. Hope, Mikey thought. Was there still hope for him ? He could not help thinking that this was the second time Izuku saved him.
******
Years later, Tomura Shigaraki and All For One had been defeated. The heroes were again admired, hope and peace had returned. Happy days were here again. Yet, Mikey had not seen happy days in a long time. He felt like the future was brighter for everyone in the country, but for him.
The Bonten had become Japan's leading Criminal Organization, but no one knew where he was. He had made sure that none of his old friends found him. He had made enquirers about them. He had learned that they were all happy and that was all he had ever wanted.
He knew he was being watched by the authorities Both by the police and the heroes, but he had always made sure not to get arrested. Deku had arrested several members of his organization and he could arrest him any time. So why did not he ? Did he still believe he could be saved ? That there was still hope for him ? He had become an empty shell, he no longer felt anything.
Mikey was in one of the Bonten hideout. It was an old bowling alley that had been closed for years. It had been almost a year since he or any member of his gang had set foot there. No one knew he was there. He approached the edge and looked down. Such a fall would kill him instantly. He grinned from ear to ear and fall forward. It was over.
His fall stopped suddenly and he felt himself climbing back into the building. He opened his eyes and saw black streams surrounding him. He knew that Deku had just saved him once again. He landed softly on the floor and the streams let go of him. Before him stood Deku, Japan's number one hero, the new symbol of peace, the one who had managed to surpass All Might. Mikey burst out laughing. An insane laugh that echoed through the building.
“When will you finally understand,” Izuku said.
Mikey stopped laughing and glared at him.
“Why ? Why did you save me ?”
Izuku took off his mask. It had been years since Mikey had seen his face. He had changed, he was no longer the teenager he had been. His eyes were also different. It was the eyes of a hero, ready to save him. But Mikey had changed too.
“There's no way you're giving up so easily.”
So easily ? Who did he think he was ? Izuku did not know anything about him, other than the crimes he had committed.
“Even if that hope is small, it's still there,” Izuku continued. “There is no hope for me. Whatever you may have seen, it disappeared a long time ago.” “You're wrong. What I saw in your eyes is still there. You have the right to be saved too. You have the right to ask for help.”
Mikey closed his eyes and clenched his fists. He could not ask for help. He would end up wasting this new chance, as he always did.
“I won't stop !” Izuku exclaimed. “I will be there to save you again and again, as long as you need it.”
His words echoed in Mikey's head. Without realizing it, tears streamed down his cheeks. He put his fingers on his cheek. He had not cried since Emma's death. What would she think of him if she was still alive ? Suddenly, he felt like the wall he had built around his heart was falling down. Everything that he had not been able to feel for years was overwhelming him. He was crying and he could not stop.
“Please, save me.”
Izuku approached him and hugged him. Mikey opened his eyes wide. He slowly raised his arms and wrapped them around Izuku. He felt like only Izuku was keeping him from sinking. He understood that he needed him, as he had never needed anyone.
******
Mikey stopped his motorcycle in front of Izuku's agency. Three years had passed since he had saved him. These past three years had not been easy, but thanks to Izuku, he had managed to get his life back together.
He had dissolved the Bonten. Most of the members had been arrested and if Mikey did not go to prison, it was thanks to Izuku's testimony. He had reconnected with Draken and was now working with him in his motorcycle workshop. Izuku had stayed with him during all these ordeals. As time goes by, he had become much more than his savior or his hero. He was the one he loved and he was lucky to be loved back.
Their relationship surprised many among Izuku's friends. They did not understand how a hero could have fallen in love with a criminal. But they had seen that they were happy and that was enough for them.
He greeted Izuku's colleagues who had finished their day. Izuku walked out of the building and a smile lit up his face when he saw Mikey. He approached and they kissed. Izuku put on the helmet that Mikey handed him and climbed up behind him. Mikey started it and drove them to their apartment.
Mikey had the chance to start his life over again and he had promised himself to use this second chance to make Izuku happy.
The end

Pinako resta silencieuse quelques secondes.
