Life has been insane lately, but recently it has taken a much more Disney channel original movie turn. Allow me to explain. Many years ago (middle school) I was friends with this girl and we were very close, she had an older sibling with cool green hair and tattoos, genuinely didn’t even know I was bi but I had a huuuuuge crush on them. Fast forward to present day, through a series of what I consider some of my best choices I now have a date with the older sibling this week and like. Who gets to do that!! Who gets a chance with their childhood crush!! How am I gonna take this man on a date I’m so nervous!!!!!!!!!

just learned that eternal flower floette had pokedex entries written for it in usum, as well as descriptions for its signature move light of ruin in every mainline except bdsp despite it STILL not being obtainable. game freak i swear to god if you do not let this pokemon out of unused prison i'm going to blow up my house

as food for thought, even tho it's the asscrack of night: sylvie never had closure on losing their entire identity as a god; they died as a god and woke up with that identity completely stripped away
their people were dispersed, their history was lost, Foras died in the mondstadt forest 1000 years ago in a war that claimed the lives of many friends, and the person who was left standing was not Foras anymore. they had their 'freedom' of responsibilities and burdens, but at what cost?
they never had a chance to properly mourn that their identity died that day they awoke. they feared mourning because that, to them, means confirming that 'foras' is truly gone and forgotten ... because although they do not acknowledge that part of themselves all too often, they still carried it within them -- its one of their utmost deep-rooted fears to be fully forgotten, so it's an emotional conflict within themselves to go through with a 'funeral' being held for the self of the past

i've never heard anything about valjean's beard being anachronistic, can you elaborate please?? :0
I’ll elaborate! I’m not completely sure about this, and anyone who knows more about fashion history can feel free to correct me! : D
Basically: I’ve heard that in the 1820s-1830s it was generally fashionable for French men to either be clean shaven OR to have facial hair on anywhere but their chin. Clean shaven faces were good, sideburns and muttonchops were good, moustaches were good— but beards/unshaven chins were out of fashion.
So having an unshaven chin marked you as someone out of touch with fashion/too poor and busy to care…or as an eccentric artistic type, part of the Romanticism movement. Thenardier even references this later on when he refers to his beard as “a Romantic beard.” I believe one of Les Amis sees Thenardier at some point and comments that he looks like a poet, probably partially because of the “romantic beard.”
Valjean is bearded after he leaves prison. This is meant to stress how much of an outcast he is, how he’s shaggy and unkempt and someone who hasn’t seen any barbers except the ones in prison who did the bare minimum.
But “Madeleine” is Valjean pretending to be a perfect completely normal unsuspicious member of the bourgeoise. Something like a Romantic Beard would draw attention and be eccentric, but Valjean is trying not to make himself stand out so it might not make a lot of sense.
Most early iconic illustrations/adaptations of Les mis depict Valjean beardless.
IIRC the reason bearded Valjean is so common now is because of the musical and especially Colm Wilkinson. Colm didn’t want to shave his beard for the part, which iirc became a point of contention, with the directors insisting Valjean is not usually iconically depicted with a beard. Colm was only able to keep the beard after he managed to dig up a few old illustrations that depicted Valjean with one. And from there….Colm was so memorable in the role that it had a massive impact on the way the musical was cast going forward. Most later stagings of the musical also give Valjean a beard, in large part because giving a character a beard is a good short hand for “old wise dude.” I’ve heard the 2012 movie is technically more historically accurate because it depicts him clean-shaven.
But again, I’d have to dig around to find actual sources for all this, and I’d take everything in this post with a grain of salt.

my argument is that I think Valjean can have a beard solely for the Symbolism. Lots of heavy parallels are constantly drawn between Valjean and St Nicholas of Myra— and St Nicholas is almost universally always depicted with a beard. So I think it’s okay to let Valjean be a bit eccentric/unfashionable for the sake of Symbolism… like? you can’t draw a beardless Santa Claus, it just isn’t right.

What are each of the Naruto Online Protagonists backstories?? I wasn’t aware they had any, or if they had a lot of profiles with that listed their own attributes. If you could describe them or provide a link for me to check them out I would really appreciate it!
This is kind of a complicated question, mainly because they are split into: the Orichara contest versions, the first beta versions, the second beta versions (some info on them was retconned), and the current game version (the question is whether browser and mobile count as the same or canon divergence XD). There is also the scrapped intro cinematic video where the protags are kids in the Ninja Academy who seem to be friends? It's honestly a mess that doesn't add up a lot of times unless you follow exactly one version and disregard everything else.
I've been working on a spreadsheet/masterpost on all kinds of canon info available for each protag but it's still being put together and has some personal commentary... Please feel free to take a look at it though 😅

A condensed version would be:
Azure Fang - she is determined to cure illnesses of the world and specializes in medical jutsu and chakra control. She's compassionate, curious, lively, and often shows her cute/girlish side. Despite being a medic she also readily uses poisons. In fights, she's shown to favor her tantō. Her mobile voice lines suggest that she's rather casual with others when at work and socializes easily.
Breeze Dancer - she's said to be a "royal sister type" and a few of the game ads have suggested her being in some way tied to Sunagakure and the Three Sand Siblings. Interestingly enough her nindō is intertwined with Orochimaru (although they don't seem to be on good terms). She has travelled a lot and thanks to that gained a mature outlook on society. Breeze is the only one who is vocal about having a distinction between good and evil, it seems to be one of her motivations for fighting. She fights using her metal fan, multiple clones, and seduction tactics (on men). Funnily enough, she prefers the company of girls.
Crimson Fist - he's liked and trusted by others and looks more mature than his age would suggest. He specializes in taijutsu and close combat. Crimson is a calm guy who cares for his friends a lot and trains hard to be able to protect them. He also likes to cook and garden, and occasionally sass at the other guys (usually to show off his manliness). Nothing is known about his clan but he has the wood release and a kekkei genkai.
Midnight Blade - younger by one year from the rest, works as a bounty hunter, knows an ANBU skill (up to interpretation whether he just picked it up from someone or was/is in the organization), and fights mostly using kenjutsu. He's cold, not talkative, and pragmatic, his main motivator seems to be money. His ideal setting is a 1v1, when faced with more opponents he loses his advantage. Despite being very professional and concentrated while on duty, he has been, in fact, portrayed as disliking work.
Scarlet Blaze - his lineage is connected to the Uchihas (not said to what degree), he also experienced a clan massacre, it's unclear if he's the last survivor or has some living relatives. He's calm and collected, hardworking, pragmatic, interested in all kinds of the world's ninjutsu, and aware of his good looks. Prefers to engage with opponents by his genjutsu first, and is good at finding their weaknesses. Preferred weapons seem to be kunai but he has been getting some variety with the latest skins.

Sometimes my posts leave my immediate circle and I start to learn via the tags what lore actually is and is not common knowledge for the average fan and I'm starting to notice a pattern that suggests.... Oh how do I say this without sounding insane..... I am starting to suspect that many dragon age fans simply stop listening altogether when a woman is talking.
